Preferred Solution: Annoying Yellow Triangle Alert

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello there and welcome to BleepingComputer. My name is Charles and I will be dealing with your log today. Please print off a copy of these instructions, and also save them to a Notepad file on your desktop, so they are easily accessible. We are going to boot into Safe Mode later in the fix, and there is no internet access. You are using peer-to-peer programs, specifically BitTorrent. These are what we call an optional removal. However, anytime you are running any type of peer-to-peer application, you are more prone to infection by malware, and this is probably how you became infected in the first place. The choice to remove them is entirely up to you, but I would strongly recommend that you do.If you do not want to, please at least refrain from using any peer-to-peer programs for the remainder of my fix.For more information about infections as a result of p2p programs, take a look here: http://p2p.malwareremoval.com/Scan again with HijackThis and put a checkmark next to each of the following entries (if present): R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\Windows\system32\qiawpbjj.exe,C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exeO2 - BHO: (no name) - {029e02f0-a0e5-4b19-b958-7bf2db29fb13} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34546} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {669695bc-a811-4a9d-8cdf-ba8c795f261e} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6abc861a-31e7-4d91-b43b-d3c98f22a5c0} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {a4a435cf-3583-11d4-91bd-0048546a1450} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {b8875bfe-b021-11d4-bfa8-00508b8e9bd3} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {c2680e10-1655-4a0e-87f8-4259325a84b7} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {c4ca6559-2cf1-48b6-96b2-8340a06fd129} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {ca1d1b05-9c66-11d5-a009-000103c1e50b} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {d8efadf1-9009-11d6-8c73-608c5dc19089} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {e9306072-417e-43e3-81d5-369490beef7c} - (no file)O13 - Gopher Prefix:Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix checked button. Please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. I have seen several threads about this but they all say this is for that poster only so here is my question.

I keep getting those system alerts spyware detected.... Earlier I had one that said malware but after running spybot search and destroy it has stopped. I know nothing about computers but how to turn them on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have Norton as my anti-virus and it blocked a bunch of stuff but it is all greek to me. I just want the pop up to go away.

A couple of weeks ago I began receiving a triangular error message on my desktop with various messages reporting spyware or suspicious files on my system and offering a free scan. When I click the triangle I am directed to at least 3 different sites all advertising anti-spyware software. Also, when I use Google and click on a lick a blank page is loaded or I am taken to another search engine website. I get between 2 and 4 of these error messages per day and usually when I open Internet Explorer and occasionally when I open Windows Explorer. I have used both AVG and Spybot but neither detected or solved the problem. Also, after running Hijack This I noticed a file in the system32 folder called dmserve.dll which when I hover the cursor over gives no info other than the file name and creation date and does not seem to be a Microsoft file nor has any connection with disk management I aslo get the same result when I right click for properties. I have been unble to delete this file and its registry entry in both normal and safe mode. The file was created around the time that the problems began I have since found out that dmserve.dll is a trojan but have been unable to find any information with regards to its removal and my AV program (nod32) does not even detect its presence. I have downloaded and installed 3 apps on or just prior to the problem starting 2 of which were cracked. All 3 have since been removed.

Please find below the requested scan logs from DSS (which also contain... Read more

.: hi, I'll try to explain my problem as clearly as possible. Around Sunday Night, all of sudden, my screen did this brief odd freeze. I minimize all my windows and there's this blue screen that's replaced my desktop wallpaper and on the blue screen is this white text w/ random warning bullcrap. I tried to change it by right-clicking and selecting properties, but 3 OF MY TABS WERE MISSING!!! I only had a tab for screen saver and the resolution size of my screen. Also, there were these 3 new desktop icons, online casino, online something else, and like this Security iGuard whatever. At this point I immediately pulled the internet cable out. In my favorites folder (in my IE browser) were all these new folders like Health, Career, Car, etc. And in My Documents and My Computer, there were also new folders and what not. I also have this very annoying lil yellow triangle w/ an exclamation point blinking in my taskbar tray that randomly says I have 4 exploits something or adult material found blah blah click here to find info on how to remove it. Also, these windows that seem like the typical Windows Error type pop-up saying I have malicious spyware, I need to click it to receive info on removal methods, etc.
I initially Downloaded Spyware Doctor and ran that. It found stuff and cleared a few things. I then downloaded Spy Sweeper which also found other stuff. I Downloaded TDS-3 and ran that as well. I had an old version of Spyware Blaster, but I uninstalled that an... Read more

Answer:.: ugh, there's this annoying yellow triangle thing...

.: oops and also, I deleted all those desktop icons, those folders in my Favorites, the few folders I found/noticed in My Documents and my C:\ Drive and I went to taskbar manager and wrote down the processes and googled most of them, and I don't kno what this popuper.exe thing and intmonp.exe is. They seemed to be linked according to what I read. Smifraud or whatever it is, well I can't end those 2. I also have uninstalled spysweeper. I dunno, I personally think spyware doctor is causing pop-ups but what do I kno, that's why I'm asking you =P O, and I've been using FireFox up until now b/c I read that IE is bad. Um I think that's it.

I'm getting the pop up that states my computer is infected.
It has a yellow triange with and "!" in the middle. It pops up every 5-10 seconds. It is in my lower startup bar.

there is also a a grey shield in the same lower bar that will pop up from time to time and start scanning my files.

Thank you,
Carol

Hi there, I was looking for some help concerning this really annoying piece of adware on my system.

It is characterized by several key features:

+ there is a blinking yellow triangle in my system tray. It disappears whenever I click on it (both right and left) and every 30-60 seconds it gives me a little balloon message telling me that my system is infected with a "black door trojan" or a "PSW.X virus". I've looked through my start-up programs and it is not there and I have no idea where it comes from nor any idea on how to locate the source.

+ There are two files on my desktop which respawn if I delete them. They are both targeting a site (url: http://www.htepo.com/cehpmoin/?cmp=h1&lid=2_18 ). Their file names are as follows: Live Safety Center.lnk and Online Security Guide.lnk

-----
That site is a known spyware/adware site apparently. I have yet to check it personally but this is what google has been telling me and I don't mind listening to google.
-----

+ I get a popup every few minutes from IE telling me to download some random spyware blocker. This annoyed me a lot so I neutralized that by having IE run on a proxy (0.0.0.0 on Port 80).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And finally, I have a HJT log if that would be of any assistance. Any advice you guys can provide would be most appreciated and I would like to thank anyone who replies in advance for their consideration.

I need help getting rid of this flashing yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle of it. The icon is next to the time on the bottom right. Sometimes it pops up a yellow text box that says different things (1) says: Power Security: to keep your information safe you have to provide an interruptible power supply or you must be using UPS hardware. click icon to check out the available UPS adapters. Another one came up as i was starting this thread it said: Power security; to keep this info safe.... it disappeared before i could even read or copy it all. also a System warning!warning hard disk clean up system determined that your hard disk has not enough free space to work properly. This problem occurs because of a number of unused or old files, shortcuts etc, and results in system slowdown and errors. Click "ok" to download Disk clean up software and remove unnecessary objects.

I've installed spybot sweeper and ran that twice. Installed Ad-Aware and ran that twice and also s-t-i-n-g-e-r and ran that once. I've removed all the spyware and adaware they listed.

I have one poker popup that opens when i open internet explorer that i need to get rid of too.

Can you help?

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Hi I have a little yellow triangle with an exclamtaion mark on it appearing with various different warnings about malware threats, system performance monitor: warning, security alert: spyware found. It is also suggesting I have Trojans(PSW.X-VIR Trojan, [email protected]) and that I need to download antivirus software to take care of it.... I also get popup internet explorer browsers if I try to look for a resolution(well basically if I surf in any form). Finally there are two new icons on my desktop called Online Security Guide(green icon) and Live Safety Centre(blue icon)

I've downloaded, installed and run AVG AntiSpyware free edition & SmitfraudFix (by S!R!) in safe mode but it didnt seem to help any.

Hopefully someone can help me get this resolved please?

Hello everyone,

Recently I have had popups recommending me to download AVSYSTEMCARE in order for my computer to be safe. Now I searched around and noticed that this announcement is a spyware that can be very malicious. I didnt download it, but often my homepage is changed, I have a yellow triangle on the bottom left bar which, if clicked, open more pages about this fake program, and whenever I try to type or work popups about it happen. I would really enjoy help, as I have ran many antispyre and tools, and nothing removed it!

Answer:Yellow Triangle Not Going/Some time yellow triangle goes but then also not working

we do no provide remote support on the P Chere

using xirrus see what sort of signal you are getting around the house
if the strength is -70 or lower (note negative number) then that would be why you have a connection issue as the signalis not strong enough in those areas
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and install the program.
You will now need to take a screen shot and copy that back to the working PC and attach the screen shot in a reply on the forum here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply

Question: Yellow Triangle

Hi Guy,I work in a school and they are setting up a new ICT suite. I teach Math?s so my networking knowledge is very basicThe ICT tech has wired the room in cat5 (from each of the 20 machines back to a 3 com 24 port switch) The internet will be provided by a BT business hub and internet package (the phone line has still to be put in) so no broadband router yet.The tech connected all the pc?s (XP pro) to the 3 com switch today and each machine has the yellow triangle (limited or no connectivity) on the network icon.I would be most grateful of you could answer the below questions 1. Why is this message appearing (is it something to do with the ip address)2. When the BT broadband router comes and is installed into the switch will this limited or no connectivity error disappear. (Can you explain why??)3. If say hypothetical they just wanted the room for just sharing files and printing and no Internet is it possible to remove this error.Once again I would appreciate any info on the above. It might seem very simple to you but any insight would be great.RegardsDiarmuid

Answer:Yellow Triangle

there is, or there's going to be a central network server?Or are the computers simply going to share a broadband internet service? If you can supply a little more information I'll try to answer your questions.

Hello, I am new to the forum. I have been spending this week updating my laptop. I have seen improvment but one. While I am applying for jobs on a particular site, after checking the appropriate boxes I get an exclamation point in a yellow triangle asking me to make a selection. Even though I have done that several times, it's just not recognizing that I have checked these boxes. When I look into tools of browser & click on error console there are several items pertaining to fonts, etc. on this site. so I cannot complete the job application process.

What can I do/or you can help me step by step so that I can use this site? Thanks.

Answer:! in yellow triangle

can you post a link - is it always the same type of link - which selections are causing issues - it may be the site rather than you , what web browser are you using ?

I keep getting a little yellow triangle with a ! on it in the lower right hand corner of the screen by the clock. Every few minutes while I on the internet, I will hear a "pop" sound and it will show up. I have tried right-clicking on it and left-clicking on it, and when I do, it will just disappear. Also, when I put the cursor on it, it won't even tell me what it is, as with the other icons on that task bar.

HELP! I have run a partial virus/spyware scan and it came up clean. I am now running a scan on ALL files, and am now waiting for that to be completed.

My husband installed a wireless router this weekend (for use with our laptop and our Wii), and also installed software from our internet provider that is supposed to upgrade our service to make it faster. Could either one of these be the cause?

TIA.

Answer:pop ups & yellow triangle

Hi

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which we would have had you run last time you had malware infection as they are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
Bitdefender - from step 6
Panda Scan - from step 6
runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
HijackThis

one pop up is a window with the title: Windows Internet Explorer
[email protected] is a virus that infects with .exe extentions.
(I never do, I know better) it then goes on to say it steals passwords and private info.
the other thing is the yellow triangle in the start button icon bar on right side at the bottom of the screen, blinking on and off, I click it to see what it says it states: bestseller antivirus installer, that is the title, under that
it states: please click continue to protect your pc against viruses, identity theft, spying, and unauthorized downloads. by clicking continue button, you are accepting our terms and conditions. the words: terms and conditions is a link in blue. then at the bottom. it has a continue button. I just click the X button at the top to close it.
One more thing is 2 two Icons i keep deleting and they keep coming back. they are as states: "Online Security Guide" and the other one is "Live Safety Center" Keep trying to get rid of them and can find where they are seated, when I run regedit. I ran your combo spyware download and I also ran Hijack this and saved it. I need to know what to do from here without format and reinstalling because to backup some of my info. they could be hiding and waiting for me to reinstall that to come back. BY THE WAY, THIS IS WINDOWS XP ON AN EMACHINE W3507 DESKTOP

Answer:how do i get rid of the yellow triangle with ! in the middle ??

Right-click it or mouse-over it and see what it says... Probably a display or internet problem... If you just want to sugar coat the problem, you could right-click the taskbar, and change the options so that icon is always hidden. If you're using Win XP, it should be in the XP, not Vista, forum.

Right click on the system tray or taskbar, click "properties" then click "customize" then look for "Past Items" you should see your Yellow Triangle with an explanation beside it.

Check Device Manager, click "show hidden devices" and report any flagged devices here.

How much free space do you have left on your HD ?

Check for BIOS update.

There seems to be a BUNCH of possible causes, but it seems also that the consensus is that this is a serious problem that should be investigated.

If none of the above is useful, I'd start searching from here:

Ok, I'm new so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Anyways recently over the past few days I've noticed two flashing triangles in the taskbar. One just flashes and randomly puts up that balloon trying to make me download programs. The other changes between a yellow triangle and a blue spikey ball, also popping up balloons. My homepage has also changed, it keeps blocking off certain webpages that I frequently visit (like my email inbox and one of my forums), it brings up lots of popups, and the classic: my computer has slowed down tremendously. I noticed I had a lot of programs (my dad downloaded them while I was out *sigh*) like PestTrap, Virus-Bursters, WinAntiVirus Pro 2006, that were the cause most probably. I followed instructions and went into safe mode etc. I managed to get rid of them all (or what I know of) except WinAntiVirus Pro 2006. It's currently sitting in my Control Panel refusing to uninstall. Still I'm getting all the symptoms from before (though I think it's gotten worse) so I'm not sure if the other programs have actually gone. I ran HijackThis and these are the results I got. Please help.

I live in the Philippines out in the country away from the city because of location have to use broadband internet.    Up till a couple weeks ago it was not all that bad and especially during off peak hours, early morning.

The signal is not all that good and I installed an 850-2100 MhZ signal booster, really helped and eliminated several problems.

All of a sudden unable to connect to the internet during day time hours.  I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and no internet access.  Signal strength is above 90%, good strong signal but no access.  During off peak hours, midnight to 8 or 9 AM there is no connection problem and for here it's fast.

I have tried a different laptop and also a differnet USB modem, new SIM card and have the same results, no internet access during peak hours.

Have a paper trail at least a mile long to the internet provider and their response is always the same thing......"We are sorry for your inconvenience and have forwarded your problem to our technical team."  Biggest problem is "THEY"  are the only game in town!!!!  No choice, tried the competition and the connections is so slow that it is not usable.

Can anyone offer suggestions for sloving this problem.

I am 70 years old and retired, the internet is my link to the outside world and am tired of getting up at 2AM to get online!!!!

thanx,

LRAYT

I am not sure this will work but see if changing your DNS servers to OpenDNS or Google DNS solves the problem. Write down any current DNS servers addresses in case you need to revert. Remember to flush your DNS and browser caches.

Good afternoon,

Pop-up after pop-up after pop-up.....annoying to say the least. I clicked to install ActiveX the other day and now I am getting a yellow triangle with an "!" inside of it. It keeps telling me that my computer is infected with a Trojan. When I click it it takes over my msn.com-directed homepage on IE and replaces it with some random Anti Virus "fix" site.

I am not advanced with code, I would consider myself an Intermediate computer user. Also, I do not have the funds to purchase software online to make these fixes...so "free" is my friend right now.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi
I don't know if this is a software related issue, but here goes. I've suddenly been getting a small yellow warning triangle popping up in my taskbar. If I click on it, either right or left, it just disappears and won't lead me anywhere or offer information etc - not very helpful. It then reappears pretty quickly and just sits there. What is going on & where should I look for more information?
Thanks

Hello. I am working on a company computer that someone got a virus on. At the time there was no antivirus software in use. After the issue came up, someone tried to install Symantec Antivirus 9.0 corporate, but screwed up the install, and now I can't remove it because of a corrupt install. I tried to follow the symantec web page for how to remove it manually from the registry, but that failed. So, i am unable to install any other virus software at this time other than norton system works, which is crap, and did not find any problems. As with the flashing triangle, comes an array of pop-ups and a slow computer. Also, half the time when i start the computer, explorer fails to load, and I have to manually launch it from the taskbar menu to get it running. Here is the hi-jack this log AND an online virus scan from Kaspersky. If anyone has any help or ideas, please let me know. Thanks again in advance for any help you can offer. After reviwing several discussions on this topic, and trying various recommendations, I am still stuck. No anti-cirus or spyware program is picking it up, and I am left to ask a question. :-) Kaspersky has been able to "block" the events, but some still come thru. Some errors I get are explorer.exe is trying to connect to the internet, there is a keylogger, and some other random events attached to main processes. Also, Kaspersky shows something about "invader (loader" is trying to change files. Here is my hijack this log. If anyone could help, I would ppreciate it greatly. Answer:Yellow Triangle In Taskbar With Pop Up

In addition, another messege that comes up is c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe is trying to inject other programs. It is listed as riskware, and I keep denying the action. Also, i know that something with the vmcgypjf.dll is a virus, I just can't get rid of it. I'll fix it in hi-jack and then it just reappears. I'm just trying to give as much info as possible. Also, i ran spybot SandD, and it found nothing.

Answer:coprocessor with yellow triangle please help!

The website pcidatabase.com let's you look up unknown hardware. Based on what you posted, it seems to be an Nvidia nForce System Management Controller. I'm taking this to mean you have an Nvidia-based motherboard. There is likely a driver available for this on your motherboard's website. If Windows update doesn't find it, go there and download the driver.

Hello it seems that whenever I launch a 3d application for longer then 10 minutes I get a black exclamation point encased in a yellow triangle. First however, within my application the entire screen would flash on and off then it would stop responding.

With the information I could find before posting on this forum it seems to be a virus of some kind that nod32 and SuperAntiSpyware were unable to remove. Of course there also seems to be a windows error with this same picture, however it gave me no clue as to why it was there.

Also note: Ever since I installed service pack 1 Windows Defender and Windows Mail have DLL errors, (Mpclient not found for Windows Defender) (MSOE not found for Windows Mail) however both .dll files are still in their respective folder.

Heres my Hijack this log, thanks in advance.

It's an add from some malware you have installed.

Download HijackThis from this link:

Click the downloaded file. It will extract to Program Files\HijackThis. Run it from that location and copy the log. Paste it here for analysis.

Posting for a friend, who has a virus that puts the yellow triangle with an exclamation point on the toolbar, warning of viruses. It slows down the computer significantly, and makes browsers almost unusable. AVG has said that there could be upwards of nine trojans, and healing does nothing, vaulting asks to make sure you wish to force it. I told her not to, as the virus could be on a system file. Anyways, here's the log, thanks for the help:

This is not the yellow triangle in the taskbar. When my antivirus attempts to load, i get a dialog box with yellow triangle and a exclamation point in it, with no text. I attempted to format my drive, which did not resolve the issue. I attempted to use the DDS thing to get all my processes, but I guess it does not support vista 64. No amount of google searching has helped me so far... Hopefully someone is able to help me out. Thanks a lot for your time. Here is a ss of the error box. I get it when i try to turn on Mcafee antivirus.

hi there

I am working on a laptop and ever since it got the virus I have had the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it and the wireless internet doesnt seem to want to connect anymore. I search around for ways to fix this and i found out about smitfraudfix and used it and now the yellow triangle is gone. But the internet still doesnt work. I installed Bitdefender Antivirus and removed the trojan that it found but it seems like the computer is still hot since it has been an abnormal amount of trojan trying to get in.

I have included the HJT log and Smitfraudfix log of after the removal of the yellow triangle. PLZ help and thx.

Hello, I am having problems with a yellow triangle with a exclamation mark in it popping up in my task bar next to the clock. I was trying to go to MSN website and fire fox said it could not find the address. That is when I noticed the yellow triangle. Friday night my wife had an ad pop up saying your computer is infected click here to fond out how to clean it. I figured it was adware so I ran my Avast virus scan and it found a couple viruses that it quarantined. That happened Friday and today is the first time I have seen the yellow triangle.
I am running WinXP SP2 (tried downloading SP3 but it kept dying in the middle of download), use fire fox except when doing updates for microsoft ( I use IE8 for that). Here is the log I got from Hijack This. If any more info is needed let me know. And thank you very much.

OS: Windows Vista home premium 32-bitEvery so often whilst running applications (games mainly) the program appears to freeze, and the sound will play in a 'broken loop' for a few seconds (i.e. repeat the same part over and over). The screen will then go black, and after a few more seconds the program will be back to normal (Unless it's an online game in which case the game's protection shield will close it down). After this a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark appears in the notification area of the task bar. Clicking it does nothing/opens no menus. In the 'customize notification items' window it is called "".I've read around for help with this and tried;- uninstalling all Adobe products- checking for any suspicious processes in the task manager (though to be honest, I'm not sure what I'm looking for)- Running scans using AVG anti-virus, AVG anti-spyware and SUPERantispyware- Running SmitFraudFix.exe as detailed hereI've uploaded a picture of the triangle hereI'm a technical newb, so if you're kind enough to help, please be patient with me! ^^;Thanks

Answer:Yellow Triangle On Task Bar

My experience of this has only been on XP but the only time I have ever seen an exclamation triangle in the taskbar is when I've run out of RAM for the system or graphics card (graphics cards only in certain configs). Windows may be increasing your page file on your hard drive and shifting some stuff on to it, which could be causing running programs to freeze momentarily.
Is your graphics card dedicated or shared?
How much RAM do you have?
The default pagefile setting is "Let windows define my page file size" You could try setting this to a manual setting, possibly about 1gb.

Hope this helps!

Hi guys,

I have just noticed these 2 icons on ''My Computer'' page. A yellow triangle and a green circle.

I'm happy with the green circle, but the yellow triangle is annoying me.

I've had a look in device manager but no problems there, I've also looked in event viewer for errors but there is nothing wrong there either.

Any help would be great.

TIA

Answer:Yellow exclamation triangle

You could run a chkdsk /r as an administrator from the cmd prompt, but have a look in Action Center to see if anything is flagged.

Have you been using any tune-up programs or registry cleaners ?

i have been getting a yellow triangle appearing in my toolbar the last few months. it stays for a couple of minutes then disappears. while it is there the other toolbar icons do not display their names when i hover over them.
i have not left-clicked the triangle at all.
the only malware detected by AVG recently was a false positive trojan.
i enclose a picture of the toolbar complete with yellow triangle.

what will happen if i leave it ?
also is it safe to use the Combifix program as i have read several reports that it may contain rootkits ?

When I start my laptop I get this annoying callout box that reads:

Your computer is infected!
Windows has detected spyware infection.

It is recommended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss.

Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you.

Click here to protect your computer from spyware.

When I click the icon or box nothing happens. I have tried searching google for some answers but it has led me nowhere. Hopefully I can get some help here.

From the taskbar I get the yellow triangle with the exclaimation point and a baloon popup "Windows antivirus. Windows has detected spyware infection..." yada yada yada

POPUP #2:
Windows Security Alert Warning! Potential Spyware Operation! Your computer is making unauthorized copies of your system and internet files. Run full scan now to prevent any unautorrized access to your files! Click YES to download spyware remover...

I have access to Task manager but lost access to Control Panel. After running the current version of SpybotSD tonight the control panel reappeared in the settings menu but I cannot access Add/Remove Programs or System Settings. I get a window stating: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. Of course I am the administrator as this is a home computer. I have been making the popup go away by clicking No (I realized now this may be no better than clicking Yes).

When I come back to my computer after several hours of ?inactivity?, I am finding a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in my system tray. Usually, if I click on the triangle, it disappears not to return until after the machine has been idle for some time-usually overnight. One time, however, a small ?system error? bubble appeared but it had no further information. It is not a low virtual memory notice. I have combed through several forums looking for the solution but have come up short. I have not made any hardware changes or added any software that runs a TSR.

I am running a Athlon 64 3000+ with 1g RAM on XP SP2. Virtual memory is system controlled and is currently 1534mb on my 500g HD. The machine is hard wired to a Belkin Pre-N wireless network. Though I set the IP address, I do not set the IP for the other 2 machines in our home network. Computer names are different. I am running Norton System works in auto-protect mode and Zone Alarm Pro. I have used both of these for a long time and have never had a compatibility issue. In some forums, I noted that some people got a ?click me? message as a result of some spy or malware. I have run both my antivirus and both on-line and installed versions of spyware/malware detectors and have come up clean. I compared Hijack printouts of when the symbols was present and when it was not and found no differences.

Fearful of posting a Hijack printout in this forum, I note the following running processes:

The internet on my laptop has stopped working from time to time and a yellow triangle with an exclamation point goes on top of the internet icon on the bottom right. Now it has stopped working completely for about a week and hasnt come back like before. I use the same internet cord on my pc and Xbox and it works fine, just not my laptop. What can I do?

Please, if you know, try to explain it to me as if I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing at all lol... I'm not that good with the names of hardware or software.

Answer:Yellow triangle and exclamation mark.

Welcome to the forum Gibb94.

I don't have a laptop so don't know much about them but have you made sure that yours is turned on for Wi-Fi, I believe there is usually a switch somewhere perhaps you've managed to turn it off without realising it.

If you could post back with more details about your machine and how you connect to the Internet it would help the experts to give you more help, don't forget we can't see your machine and without details we don't have much to go on.

Was there a yellow tri/exclamation mark in the pic from your link? I couldn't see one. A yellow triangle w/ a exclamation make is Windows way of telling you there is a problem with the devices it's with.

Hello - I'm hoping you can help me get rid of this blinking yellow triangle I have on the bottom of my toolbar, after Symantec AntiVirus, and Spybot Search & Destroy have not been able to. I did have all sorts of viruses before I finally got both of the above loaded yesterday but whatever is remaining keeps bringing up all sorts of IE windows malware fake adds to fix this. I heard it may be a problem with my registry but I have no idea how to fix my registry and I'm uncomfortable fixing without explicit directions. I have Windows Vista and find it hard to get around.

Spybot Search & Destroy
finds "Zlob.Downloader.oid" and after I fix it and reboot, it returns every time

Symantec AntiVirus
full scan and finds nothing more

Have a limited connection and the icon in the tray has a little yellow triangle. How do I resolve this?

Answer:internet conection...the yellow triangle

How long has this been happening, WiFi or ethernet ? First, try right clicking it and select troubleshoot problems let it run see if it solves anything, second try turning off router/modem for 15 seconds then turn back on and also reboot at same time. Third check the device manager under Network adapter, any yellow exclamation point ?

It appears in the system tray thingy. Yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, on bootup. I tried right/left clicking on it, but it vanished. So, being clever, I checked the "System" bit of the event viewer. There are a few entries, there, with the triangle beside them. I check "Properties" and it gives me the attached message. I can't pinpoint an event after which this thing appeared, unfortunately. XP Pro.
I'm not having any difficulties on the network, though it's sometimes impossible for Jane to access my machine. I have complete access to hers (heh-heh!). The shared internet connection's fine, too. We're not having any problems connecting to the net, either.

Ought I be worried?

I know this has been asked before. The last post gave me direction on how to find out the 'event'. Well I did and when I pulled up the Computer Management screen, the source of it is 'fastfat'. I got one a few hours earlier and it said, 'disk'. The one before that, it said 'tcpip'. Strangely enough, that's when my internet froze up.

I don't know what's going on. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this symbol, better yet the problem? It comes up a few times an hour but then if I click on it, it goes away.

Click this baloon to download malware removal software. ". I have scanned my comuter wth anti-virus and anti-spyware programs to remove the yellow triangle but it's still there. How can I get rid of it?

Hi Guys, This triangle has recently appeared on the bottom left of my screen.I clicked on it and there was a pop up window saying webpage errors and giving details. Each page produced a pop up and a different error. Driving me nuts.Tried unticking debugging script box in Internet Explorer....nothing. Tried downloading another Internet Explorer....nothing.Used CC and Uniblue to tidy everything up...nothing. So what on earth do I do next?I've checked the device manager and nothing is clashing. ThanksMoll

In classic mode, right click My Computer and select manage. Otherwise click start, then right click my computer and choose manage. Click the plus next to Event Viewer. Double click system. This will show you all of your system messages.
