Bulk emails using Windows Live mail through Gmail

Question: Bulk emails using Windows Live mail through Gmail

My ISP, Shentel, now uses Google mail as email servers. I run a business and in the past have been able to send bulk type emails, broken down into groups of 80 or less recipients (per my ISP instructions) and had no issues. I have about 10-12 of these groups of 80 or less recipients and I send each group seperately throughout the day. In otherwords, I don't send all 10-12 groups at once.

I only send these group emails 2 - 4 times a year, so I'm not sending 10 ga-billion emails.

Recenlty (say in the last 6 months), I send out these bulk emails and the emails are not delivered. They are not stuck in the Outbox and they show as being Sent. I have contacted some of the recipients individually and they indicated they did not receive the group emails, but do receive individual emails.

I contacted my ISP and they just walked me through my Windows Live Mail settings, but he was not able to offer any other help.

Any help appreciated.

Robert

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Bulk emails using Windows Live mail through Gmail

It sounds like there's a syncing issue between Windows Live and Gmail.

Are you able to get to the Gmail admin page for your email account via a web browser? From there, make sure it's configure to use IMAP.

You may also want to try another email client, like Outlook or Thunderbird.

I have set up my gmail emails to be displayed along with my POP emails using Windows Live Mail. They do display but in duplicate every time. My POP emails show as single email messages as is normal. Can you tell me what I have done wrong please??? Thanks RRH100

Answer:gmail emails duplicated in Windows Live Mail Inbox.

Try this -
When in the live mail program as you look at the folders under your email account you will see an inbox on top. Under the inbox is a folder named Gmail, this folder expands to show "all mail" which is all emails in your box under one folder. Live mail when showing "unread emails" displays the inbox and the "all mail" folder at the same time. This creates the duplicates shown in the unread messages tab. To fix this click on the gmail folder and right click on the "all mail" folder and select Hide this folder.

gmail is set-up and sends and receives emails on its website. I then set it up on Windows 10 running Windows Live Mail. However, although gmail on the computer can send emails ok, it refuses to receive them. error
message comes up as follows- Windows Server Error (imap.gmail.com), portal POP3, port 993, secure SSL Yes.
Windows Live Mail Error ID O x 800 CCC 90. I can still send emails through the website, it is Windows Live
Mail which will not send emails. All other email addresses I have send and receive emails through Windows
Live Mail so the problem seems to be with the gmail address, any help how to solve this, have looked at UTube
and various blogs but haven't found a solution.

I would like to send a bulk mailing to 200 customers and have read that Windows Live has problems with bulk mail of any size. I can divide it into two or three segments if that would help. I'd appreciate input about this since individual emails aren't an option.

Thanks!

Before I retired, I used (at work) Outlook to issue electronic Christmas cards, Press Releases etc, since it allows you to link names & address kept in a spreadsheet to the 'To' & 'Bcc' recipients.
How do you perform a similar task in Windows Live Mail? I can't see a way of 'pointing' the message to a list of recipients kept in a spreadsheet. I have ended up cutting & pasting a list of email addresses in to the 'Bcc' box. This is not only a 'messy' way of doing it, but also the number of recipients you can send to at any one time, is strictly limited.
Any ideas as to how to do it 'elegantly' would be welcome. Thanks.

how does one stop buk mail from being received in windows 8 windows live mail using the mail tile

Answer:windows 8 live mail bulk mail

The tile mail app has few options, what it does is pull mail from another account and just show it. You configure that account by using the Desktop app. For instance, I have Hotmail so I go there via a web browser and set up the folders and junk filters. etc. then my mail tile app reflects the changes I've made.

When I used Outlook Express and Windows XP I was able to delete E-Mail messages from Folders in bulk but not necessarily deleting the whole Folder. I like to clear out older messages from some, but not all, Folders - say annually whilst retaining the last few months incase needed. I can't find a way to do this in Windows Live Mail 2012 using Windows 7. Deleting them one by one would be a nightmare. Can it be done ?

Answer:Bulk deletions from Windows Live Mail 2012

The usual way to bulk select a continuous block of any files, email included, is to click on the first one you want to delete then hold down the Shift key and then click on the last one in the block and then press Delete on keyboard (or with mouse rightclick on the selected files and choose Delete)
Does that not work for you in Windows Live Mail 2012?

I use the new Windows Live Mail client to access two IMAP accounts, Gmail and one provided by my University. Gmail works such that whenever you send an email through it, it automatically puts a copy in the Sent Mail folder. So if the WLM client tries to put a copy there as well, you end up with two copies of the email in the Sent Mail folder. The University IMAP account doesn't work like this. A copy will only appear in the Sent Mail folder for that account if the client program puts a copy there.

So the problem is the way WLM handles this. Most IMAP settings are specific to the account. You right click on an account, go to settings, and then go to the IMAP section and specify the folders and stuff like that. However, the option of whether or not WLM puts a copy of an email you send in the Sent Mail folder can only be set for the entire client.

In Tools->Options->Send is the checkbox for this option. If it's checked, I get a single copy of sent mail in the University account and two copies in Gmail. If it is unchecked I get no copies for the University account and just one for Gmail.

Does anyone know a way to fix this?

edit: Oh, and a side question, is it possible to make WLM stop showing the number of unread emails in the trash or spam? They're in there because I have no intention of reading them. I don't care how many are unread.

I primarily use Windows Mail for my work at home job. I also have a Gmail account so I can check for e-mails on my iphone when I'm out. I want to have it set up so that the emails show up in both places, Windows Mail and Gmail.

Currently if my desktop computer is turned off and my Windows Mail program is not open, the incoming emails only go to Gmail and not Windows mail. OR, if my computer is up and running but the Windows mail doesn't happen to be open, the emails only go to Gmail and not Windows Mail. Seems like if my browser (IE8) is open but windows mail is not open, emails will only go to Gmail.

Do I have some settings wrong which would make the emails not show up in Windows Mail?

I am running Windows Vista, 64 bit.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Answer:Emails sometimes go to gmail and not windows mail

Hi lindalo5032,

While researching for this issue, found a link which might help in fixing the issue: Leaving Mail on the Server with Windows Mail | Tiger Technologies Support

Ensure to check the box ?Leave a copy of messages on the server? and uncheck ?Remove from server after? and ?Remove from server when deleted from deleted items?. Click Apply and then OK.

Check if the new messages appear in Windows Mails and Gmail.

Please post the results.

When I delete an email received in my Win 10 Mail App inbox, the same email is also deleted in my Gmail inbox, automatically. I would like to prevent this. Emails deleted from my Mail App should be left behind in my Gmail inbox. Could I prevent this deletion from happening by changing an IMAP Access setting in my Gmail settings?

I attach two pictures. In the one, you can see how my Win 10 Mail App was configured by Windows when I added my Gmail account. In the other picture, you can see what I consider changing in my IMAP settings at GMail. I have no idea if this will help and whether I should make this change. I am fairly computer-illiterate.

Could somebody advise me please?

Hi,

I am in the process of switching my internet service from Bell Dial Up to the Bell Turbo Hub. This new hub will allow me to receive high speed service in an area that is not currently offering high speed at speeds up to 7MB/S.
The problem is that I will have to change my email address when I cancel the dial up service. This means that I will need to set up a new email address in Hotmail or Gmail. I chose Gmail and have just set up a new account.

I also use Windows Live One mail as a resident client due to fact that I have many committees that I belong to and have a great deal of folders with correspondence I must keep. I have two questions;

1. Once I cancel my Bell Dial Up service will all of the emails filed in my folders in WLM be retained. I would think so because they are now on my hard Drive but I would appreciate some confirmation?

2. Can I set up Gmail in WLM to allow for continued filing of incoming emails to their respective folders? If so how do I do that?

Your help on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

As long as you don't delete the account from WLM and as long as WLM doesn't have some kind of serious problem and as long as a disk failure doesn't wipe them out. You do have at least one backup copy, right?

I'm using Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9, and Windows Live Mail via my Comcast.net e-mail server. I wish to continue to use WLM, but when my son visited several months ago, he installed Mozilla Firefox because that's the ISP he uses. He also installed his Gmail account and gave me a Gmail account as well (I never asked for it).

Fast forward: Until about a week ago, I never had any problems with my WLM, but I've recently noticed that I'm not receiving all my e-mails through WLM. I noticed this because I recently got an iPad 2 (e-mail is also set up for my Comcast account) and it was showing e-mails that were not showing up in WLM. This is also happening in reverse, i.e., e-mails appearing in WLM are not all showing up on my iPad.

So, I jumped over to Gmail and it was loaded with ALL my e-mails, past and current. Also, my Google calendar which I rely upon and which has always worked in Internet Explorer, is no longer loading and is in a redirect loop. However, if I go over to Firefox, Google calendar loads just fine and I can also load Google calendar on my iPad. When I tried to add my Comcast account to Gmail, it said it already exists.

I don't like the intrusions by Google and from all I've heard, they're not only famous for causing conflicts with other ISP's and e-mail programs, but they're also introducing upgrades to their system which makes intrusions even worse.

I'm assuming you are using WLM if so try this
In WLM go to tools then accounts click your WLM default account then properties then advanced in the window that appears and you should have this, check or uncheck leave mail on server then send yourself an Email and see if it works I hope this helps and works for you.

When I send a gmail test message to myself, it doesn't show up in the Live Mail inbox (it does appear when I check in on the G-mail web site. I also noticed that I did not receive in Live Mail an AOL email, but it too appeared on the gmail website. Any suggestions appreciated.

My ISP is Orange FR and until a recent shut down of internet activity whilst Orange were performing repairs to the system, gmail worked well in Windows Live Mail.
Now I can't get it to send or receive emails in Live Mail, please can anyone help? My OS is windows 7 and I have 4 accounts in my windows live mail set up, one being the main ISP of Orange.
This is really frustrating so appreciate any advice to help resolve the problem.

This is a long shot but I wonder if Windows Live Mail thinks that you are offline. I take it that IE works ok.
I would suspect a change of Orange France settings but you have 4 accounts. On the safe side checkk each setting again.

When I send an email from my Windows Live Mail, and have contracted words like it's, don't and so on, and quotation marks and other characters, the received email contains other characters I did not type. For example when I type it's, the receiver reads it as it?s When I type something with quotations like "hi how are you?", the receiver reads it like this ?hi, how are you??

How can I correct this? It's very annoying, to say the least!

Answer:How do I fix Windows Live Mail emails?

Check the character encoding option in WLM and see what you are using. It's probably something your receivers aren't using, which will cause those odd characters to be inserted in the emails.

I have been trying for ages to stop my Samsung Laptop (running Win7 with 6 gig RAM) from going through periods of running at a total crawl. At first it seemed to be the Print Spooler, then AVAST, and for a day it's been running at lightening speed as per normal. I recently had a hard-drive failure, so reinstalled everything on a new HD. Since then I have salvaged all my old files from the old HD using recovery software (Handy).
I was using using Windows Live Mail (WLM) on the old HD with Vista, and I'm still using WLM on the new HD - with Windows 7.
I can see all my emails (of several years) via the hotmail webpage, however when I added this hotmail email account to WLM I can only see the last 9 months via WLM. Weird.

So I have gone back to my salvaged HD and copied over the emails (as eml files) and then tried to import into WLM using the "import messages" function.
The first step in the import function is to select the email format - so select WLM. Next step is to browse to the folder containing the emails, then click "next".

Unfortunately it fails at this point with the following message :-

It was working fine, had Live Mail 2011, and worded just fine....but then noticed I wasn't getting any new mail from my hotmail account like I used to. In fact, this error happened, where it said I had X number of new mail, and when I went to look, was only a few, but couldn't read or delete them, and there was gaps, like missing emails. I had tried adding Gmail to Live Mail, and then it started to download emails exceeding 15K, and will take forever, just to show hardly any new emails, if any, despite it saying it received 15K+ emails.

I tried repairing, uninstalling, reinstalling 2012 edition of Live Essentials. I even deleted the files in the Live mail folder on the hard drive after uninstalling it....but adding my hotmail account.....well, it won't retrieve new email (My gmail used to be picked up along with the hotmail as it's attached to it), and adding gmail results in over 15K downloads.

I don't know if it's settings...I never touched them, and it all used to work for years with no problem....this this one glitch happened that seems to cause all this grief for me.

I do have Windows 7, and not sure all the stats of my computer....just hope someone can help.

Some of my emails have mysteriously disappeared. How can I get them back?

Answer:missing emails in Windows Live Mail

Are you only logging into Windows Live from a browser? Or are you also accessing this account from other places, such as your phone via some app?

I wouldn't say it's not likely that the emails are just disappearing from your account. With answers to the above questions, I'll be able to provide a little more. I'm thinking either somebody else is accessing your account or there are issues with the settings you have configured for this account on other devices.

I can normally drag and drop emails from my Inbox into folders or use the move menu option. There are however emails from 2 separate senders that cannot be moved and when I try I get the message.." An unknown error has occurred. The selected message(s) cannot be moved. An error has occurred".Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there a solution ? There is nothing odd about the emails. They are just text with no attachments.

Answer:Moving emails Windows Live Mail

it could be that they have been locked on the remote server - nothing you can do about that. You will have to highlight the text - control C to copy it then open your word processor and control V to paste it.

Hi & HELP !!

My email provider inadvertantly suspended my a/c, I spoke with an "operative" who told me to delete the email account and re-enter all the details. In doing so I have lost all my emails sent and received. I have been into:
computer/OS(C)/users/neil/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook to restore the files via a right click and restore from backup, but I get the message:
Restore skipped restoring the file: C:\Users\Neil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage Folders\Inbox\0F5A0748-00000001.eml to original location.

I have tried using the Restore facility but also to no avail......I am broken!!

BTW O/S Windows 7

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Lost emails Windows Live Mail

Welcome,

What restore did you use. There are 3. The one that will definately work is system image. Hopefully, you have kept it up to date. If that does not work try backup and restore. I doubt if system restore will work in this scenario.

Hi, Can anyone tell me how to bounce emails back to a sender so that it registers on their compute that the message has not been received? I don't mean junk mail or spam which waits for me to delete it. I want to stop it from accesing my computer altogether.

Thanks,
CeeBee52

Answer:Windows Live Mail - how to bounce emails

You can add the sender to your blocked sender list (right click on the sender's address - add to blocked sender

or you can create a rule
Select one or more conditions:
| | Where the from line contains people

Select one or more options
| | Do not download it from the server
| | Delete from Server

Neither of these sends anything back to the sender. why would you want to do that anyway?

I have 2 email accounts, both brought into Windows live mail via POP3. One is working normally, the other - which comes via the UK provider 'TalkTalk' has started to duplicate emails in a big way. So each time mail comes in, I'm getting not only the new ones but also literally hundreds of duplicated old emails going back 2 yrs or more and including stuff I had already deleted. Then yesterday after mail had stopped coming into my Inbox I noticed that I was still receiving mail so I checked the pop up box to find that mail was still coming in at warp speed, had reached 12,000 and was still going strong. But as these weren't going into my Inbox, where exactly are they and how can I stop them coming? I've closed down Live mail because until I have a solution I don't want thousands more unwanted emails. It's been suggested that the fault could lie with POP3 and I should change to IMAP. But if that's the case why is the 2nd email account which also uses POP3 still running fine? Any help would be really appreciated as this is a bit of a nightmare ...

Have a problem with Windows Mail Live

My email address recently changed due to me changing ISPs
for some reason, when I changed the information, I lost all my previous emails and started from scratch again

I understand with WML, if I create the exact same name account, that I previously had setup, all my emails would restore itself.
Problem is: I have no idea what the exact name of the account was.

Is there a way of finding out what it was ?
or
does someone know of an alternate way of recovering those lost emails.

Thanks

I've got a TalkTalk account, Windows 7 and I use Windows Live Mail. Even though it's a TT account, I have a Tiscali email address as when TT swallowed up Tiscali we kept our original Tiscali addresses. There have been a multitude of email problems over the years, but all was ok until about a week ago. Since then I can receive emails but it's impossible to send them, they are listed as "Sent" but they just never arrive. I'm reluctant to uninstall/reinstall WLM,in case I mess something up. I've changed the port setting from 25 to 587 but this made no difference. I've also got a Gmail account and this works fine, as I explained anything sent from Gmail (or anyone else) to my Tiscali will arrive, however if I try to reply or resend it appears as "Sent" but never arrives. I'd appreciate any help.

I had a little hiccup with my older laptop running on Windows 7. My email program, Window Live Mail (2012) has decided to lose (or hide??) most of my emails and sub-folders. Help! Microsoft no longer supports this outdated program and can't help me. Any help in how I can try and restore these "saved" emails.

I plan to purchase replacement laptop with the upcoming holiday special deals and don't know if by downloading MS Outlook now on the old laptop this will allow for easy capture of the "lost" emails and then easy transfer to the new computer.

Well I never used an email client before because it was a big clusterfudge of stuff to set up and it never worked. Now that I have 7 I tried out Live Mail and I was happily suprised to see that it set itself up for me.

So, I ran it in Vista compatibility mode so it would show up in the tray when I minimised it (for anyone who has that problem) but I'm not getting updates on new email. When I send an email to myself it shows up in the browser Hotmail but it only shows up in my Live Mail once I restart it.

Is there something I can do to make new emails show up without restarting it and/or get notifications on those emails?

My computer has been returned to me after a crash which required Windows 7 being reinstalled. Most of my data was recovered, but not my emails apparently. However, I can see a new folder on the hard drive which looks like it relates to Live Mail and which looks like it was recovered too (it's not in my usual user folder and it's dated the day of the crash/recovery), it is called AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsMail and contains all the files that I'd expect to see (ie it looks a lot like the folder of the same name which is under my user name). Could this contain all my old emails and if so, how do I access them? I've tried copying the files to the folder under my user name and I've tried asking Live Mail to import messages, but it couldn't see any.

I've lost four years worth of emails and all my up to date contacts, I'd really like to recover them.

I have been using WLM for years and before that Outlook Express. Within WLM I access 4 different email accounts seamlessly. My domain email, my isp email, an old Hotmail account and a Windows Live Mail email. One program has it all. I am a bit confused how the new change will effect me ? My guess is the Hotmail account will not be accessed ? Outside of my domain email this account is very important to me. I don't want to go online to check it.. So will WLM stop accessing my Hotmail ? I'm guessing all the other will still work ? But if it is true that my Hotmail will not work I need to find a nice free program that can replace WLM and take care of all my needs in one program.. Lately, I cannot open emails using Windows Live Mail 2012 right away. A message comes up: "A problem has occurred while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred. Please try again." The repeated sentence "A problem has occurred." is not my typo...that's the way it appears. It seems to take about a 30 second wait, before I can open the email. Once the email has been opened, you can open the email later without any delays, but if you come back to WLM after, say, 10 -15 minutes and try to open the same email again, you get the same 'problem' message. The only thing that, I think, coincides with my problem is that I switched to McAfee Internet Security. Could it be that McAfee is holding everything up? I'm using Windows 7- 64 bit OS, with Google Chrome as my browser. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I normally deal with all my emails on my PC and action them in one way or another ie delete, file, junk, etc. Then if I go to my laptop and open up WLM, only the most recent emails show ie that day's . Things have changed during the past few weeks in that having actioned the emails on my PC, they are still appearing in the inbox on my laptop. As I do not use the laptop that often, I find myself having to go through up to 300 emails again(although I could just trust that I have dealt with them properly on the PC and delete the lot on the laptop)representing several days emails.
Can anyone please explain how I can get the configuration back to how I previously had it. My searches around WLM have proved fruitless.

How are you doing that - via webmail or an e-mail client such as WLM? If it's the latter then are you using the IMAP or POP protocol? It may also help if you let us know the last part of the e-mail address in question (the bit after the @).

I was attaching an image to a message for the first time in WLM and accidently set photo emails as default. Basically this takes any pics you have and turns them into thumbnails which get saved to live's web servers. The issue is it makes all images into JPG's.

I'm trying to send a GIF but it's being converted into a JPG for the recipient. How do I turn this "feature" off? I can't find it!! I tried reinstalling but it kept it. This is really annoying and can't believe turning it off isn't more obvious. Thanks!!!!

Answer:Windows Live Mail keeps sending photo emails!?!?

I think when you first drag/drop an image into an email, it asks you if you want it to be a photo email. If you check the box that says never ask again (and hit yes?), it assumes that every time you add an image it becomes a photo email.

Guess you could find a workaround by deleting the registry key that it probably made.. or by reinstalling.

Edit: Or not.

Answer:Unable to send emails using Windows Live Mail

I just sent a test email from my hotmail.com account via WLM to my bellsouth.net e-ddress...no problem.

When I added my account, I typed my Hotmail e-ddress, password, and clicked "Make this my default email account, bu not "Manually config...." The server used is https://mail.services.live.com/Delta....0.0/sync.aspx

I am helping a friend build a new system and I while I have successfully migrated his Hotmail to WLM, the system keeps downloading really old emails. Emails that for all accounts should be already deleted ages ago.

For instances, it is downloading sent items, about 6759 emails to his Sent Email folder and I am afraid that once that is done, it will download another thousand or so from the other corresponding folders.

How can I stop this from happening? for the most part, he will delete 90% of them anyways so he does not need them.

Thanks

This is a fresh Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit with Office Home & Student (so no Outlook) installation, hence, why I decided to go with WLM instead.

Thanks

Answer:From Hotmail to Windows Live Mail... Migrating emails

I'm not a mail app guru, but I see mostly grumbling about Windows Live Mail. I'd consider another app unless you have an over-riding reason to go with it.

I set up a new laptop with Windows Live Mail, while I'm still using a desktop machine with Windows XP. I am not getting in Windows Live Mail any emails from eBay which are coming to the desktop machine through Outlook Express. I have turned off all the spam filtering and put ebay.com as a safe domain from which to accept emails. How can I get these eBay notifications to my LiveMail account on the laptop?

(It won't do any good to run TSG SysInfo because I am contacting you from my desktop machine, not the laptop where I am having the problem). This is running Windows 7.

Hi - I think I have a mental block: I'm sure I used to be able to address emails to just 'Joe' and not Joe Bloggs ([email protected]) for example.
I know I could do it in Outlook, by adding 'Joe' to the 'Display as' option when I added a contact, but am I missing something in WLM?
Thanks.

Answer:How to display only names in emails (Windows Live Mail)

If you go to contacts, hover the mouse cursor over an address, select edit contact, select contact in the pane, in the new pane that opens just have the Christian name showing in the list and save.
