Preferred Solution: Yahoo problem can't send email with Word attachment

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Yahoo problem can't send email with Word attachment

Hi Nora10514 It could be a security feature put in place in Yahoo! Mail to protect users against malicious Word files (specially crafted). Did you try to archive the file (in a .zip) and then send it?

I have composed a Word letter I wish to attach to a Yahoo email.

When attempting to attach it to the email to the intended recipient,
it tells me there is a problem and can't attach it.

When I compose a similar test email to another recipient I am able
to attach the exact same Word document with no problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

My Google server will not allow attachments, small or large, in my Yahoo email. When I switch servers, the email works fine with attachments; however, my virus program starts picking up viruses to destroy. These viruses never show up as long as I stay with the Google server. Why can I not have the email attachments with Google/Yahoo-usage? (Windows Vista user)

Answer:Google Yahoo email attachment problem

"My Google server will not allow attachments, small or large, in my Yahoo email. "That makes no sense what-so-ever, and you don't have a Google or Yahoo server, you are using web based mail clients. Are you saying you can't email an attachment from your Gmail account to your Yahoo email?. Also, what anti-virus program are you using and what type of files are you trying to send?

Hi, I have problems sending email attachment. This has nothing to do with the file size. I cannot send even a 20k attachment.

I have no problems surfing Internet. I can read CNN, Yahoo, NYTimes. However, I cannot send email attachment nor upload files to my blog. What happens when I try to send email with attachment is the sending process quickly reaches 99% delivery. Then, it sticks there for a couple of minutes and finally, gives an error message saying connection to SMTP server smtp.googlemail.com timed out.

If I take the computer to work, which uses the same ISP and same ADSL, the problematic email goes through without any problem. If I connect the modem directly to my computer, the problem doesn't show up. Thus, the culprit must be the router.

I recently purchased a TP-LINK N750 dual band wireless router and the problem began. Before, I used a TP-LINK WR941ND router. There was no problems. All I did is set up the wireless connection (SSID, IP address, password, etc.) and leave other settings alone. I can't figure out why this problem is happening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My computer went down, and I had to reset it to the factory setting. After that all seems well, except that I can't send an attachment with my email. I am useing POCO as my email client, and it sends 64k and then there is no further progress and the internet stops. I used to be able to send big files, and they always went through. I dont know how to check my internet settings to ensure that it works well. I have no problems receiving emails, or sending an email without an attachment, but I do miss sending the odd digital photo. Can anyone help?

Hello.. this is my first post here! I'm computer savy, but cant' find and answer to my mom's problem, and thought someone could help here!

My mom uses Microsoft Outlook for her work emails. When she forwards or sends attachments, the reciever sees can't see the attachment. For my webmail, I see a paperclip but no attachment. In Outlook Express, I see nothing.

Is this a problem with her mail server possibly? She works for the government, and I wonder if there is a filter on her mail? But I dont' suspect that to be the problem, seeing as she can recieve all sorts of attachments (.zip, .doc, .jpg, etc.). I've tried forwarding messages as well as attaching documents to a new email, and still no go.

Does anyone have any ideas or solutions??

Thanks for your help!

the MSN account is full to its limit; the senders address is not on the receivers' 'allowed' list or you're typing in the address wrong.

I am having difficulty sending a word document directly from the document. When I click on "File", I do get the option to send to a Mail Recipient but I do not get "Send to a Mail Recipient as an Attachment". I am not very experienced with Word and I hope that someone will be able to tell me what is wrong. I am using Outlook as my default mail. Thanks!

Answer:Solved: Word 2002 - send as an attachment

It is easier to just save your document and manually attach it from the new message window in outlook. Open up "outlook" then start up a new message, you will want to click on the attachment button (it looks like a paperclip), a window will pop up...browse for your file and hit the attach button, outlook xp from office 10 will say "insert," not sure what version your using but its pretty self explanitory.

I cant send mail as an open attachement in word 2016 through thunderbird. When I try to, Word gives an error.

So just to give you steps into the problem:
1. I open up the doc.
2. While its still open, in Word I go to File>Share>Email>Send As Attachment.
3. TB loads in the background.
4. I get this message in Word: "Word couldn't send mail because of mapi failure: attachment not found"

Just to let you know, I have no problem sending this as a PDF when I choose the "Send as PDF" option in Word. How do I fix it so that I'm able to send as Word attactment through TB?

I am trying to send a newsletter out as either PDF or word, but 'i want it to show in the body of the email rather that an attachment. I am using Outlook - what do I need to do?

Answer:how do i send an email with attachment showin

I think you'll find that you cannot use either Word or pdf files in the body of an email because they both require external programs to display them. The way I would do it is to convert the pdf to a picture - there are numerous tools around that will do the job & then insert that into the email. Also, of course, the recipient won't see anything if they haven't got their client to display anything other than text, so you may have to also add a link to display it on-line as well."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..."

Hi all, I want to put a document in my scanner and send it as an email attachment. Not done it for years and now forgotten. Printer/scanner is Canon MP492 and O/S win 10, using Firefox for mail. Can anyone help please to save me hours of research.

Answer:scan in and send as email attachment

Firefox is a Browser. Do you mean you are using Thunderbird for your email?
Open your Canon Scan program - usually in All programs, Canon Utilites, Scan - and Scan the document and save it (usually best to choose a .pdf or .jpg file type whichever is most suitable for you) to your My Documents folder. Then open you email program and compose the email and click on 'Attach' browse to the document file and click on 'Open'. It will now be attached to and will be sent with your email when you send it.

I cannot see how to do this. Yes, I can right-click a file and choose to email it but it always goes to a new email, not to the one I'm replying to.
I can work around it with the copy and paste routine. That sends the file as a picture on the email - not as an attachment.

Answer:Want to send an attachment on an email reply

You need to send it as an attachment, which you need to do from within whichever program you are using; see the screenshot below for Outlook 2010.

I am using Outlook express and want to see if there is a program or something that would allow me to put a link on the desktop to send a attachment with one click. I have employees who have to send the same file to the same person weekly. I was trying to help them so they dont have to go to outlook/to/find file to attach all that good stuff. Thanks Robert

Answer:Send email attachment with one click

If it's the same filename every week, and the message doesn't change either (just the content of the file), then why not use "Send Message Again"? That'll send the same message with the same attachment to the same address, but if you've changed the contents of the attachment, the new version will go, of course.

I don't use OE, so I don't know where Send Again is, but it must be in the menus somewhere.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't think first about a shortcut. Somebody else can help.

Hello All

Looking for an explaination for this issue, client I support would like to send a word attachment via MS Outlook 03 but using the send to function in Word 2003 and selecting the mail recepient as attachment option, however the reciepients never get the email nor does it go into his sent folder. I have tested it and sent it to myself and have yet to receive anything. He does not get any error msgs, delivery failures etc... He can send the doc as an attachment by doing it the regular way through Outlook and it works and the msg goes to his sent folder.

Anyone come across this before?

System: Dell Dimension 3000. IE6 OE6 Word 2003. Generally works well.
Problem: Today for the first time, wanted to send a two-page Word text document as an attachment by e-mail via a listserv.
My past practice has been, with the document as the open window, to click file, and from file, select send to, then click on recipient as attachment.
Today this is greyed out and of course will not open. Tried couple of other files, same. The menu will allow sending document in body of an e-mail. But I thought that was injudicious for anything longer than half a page or so.
Appreciate advice from the experts.

Either my computer is acting irrationally or I've missed a setting somewhere. My 4-yr.-old HD died about 3 weeks ago. Replaced it, loaded in all drivers, brought XP back to SP3 level with all 114 security updates, and loaded back on all the programs I wanted, including MS Office 2000. Everything seems to be working perfectly.

But I'm having a problem with Word. I frequently want to attach a document directly to an e-mail message and have for 12 years used the icon I install on the Word toolbar for sending a Word doc as an attachment. Today I put that same icon back on the toolbar. . . but when I open any Word doc, the icon is dimmed/not usable. Why?

The e-mail client I'm using on this machine is still OE.

Until recently I have been receivbing emails plus attachments from a particular address. Since he has installed a livebox the attachments have been removed by AVG version 8. The emails plus attachments can be recieved on a PC with McAfee VirusScan and the attachment shows no virus infection. I have tried tweaking AVG but with no luck. Both systems are using XP Pro one with SP3 and the other with SP2. The SP3 has Norton antivirus software installed. Please can anyone help?

Answer:AVG Removes Email Attachment from Livebox Send

Perhaps the sender with the Livebox needs to adjust his Security settings ... How do I change the security settings of my Livebox?Remember: It is STRONGLY advised to use a wired ethernet connection to do this. If you change the settings using a wireless connection, you will be disconnected once the changes have been applied. If you have any wireless devices that are configured to connect to the Livebox already, please bare in mind that you will need to re-configure these devices again to connect to the Livebox. * Log onto the Livebox configuration screen, either by opening a browser and typing in 192.168.1.1, or by double clicking on "Configure The Livebox" on your desktop. * Type in the username and password for the Livebox (NOT your broadband account) and click OK. The default values here are "admin" and "admin" for both the username and password. * Navigate through the menu on the left: Configuration -> Advanced -> Wireless * You will be presented with four different "radio button" options: o WPA or WEP security o WPA security only o WEP security o No security * Select the one that you want (or need) and then click on "Submit". * On the next screen, click the "Apply the configuration now" button, and the Livebox will reboot itself. Once it has rebooted, your changes will take effect.

Outlook express does not send my emails containing attachments 85% of the time. The error message reads

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject '2564 Halsted; ', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Works fine without attachments. I've unclicked the box which breaks up messages. Have no idea why this happens. I'm more likely to get the message out if I use send and receive rather than just send.

I am using Outlook 2000 as my email client on an XP op system. I recently tried to send a Microsoft Access file: size = 900k, as an email atachment, but it won't leave the Outbox.Any suggestions?

Answer:Outlook2000 Email attachment wont Send

It seems I still had the attachment file open while I snet it to the mail recipient. This must have created some sort of lock file, and prevented it from moving from the Outlook Outbox.I deleted the email from the Outbox, and then resent the Microsoft Access file as an attachment (with Microsoft Access application closed) and it then moved from the Outbox OK when I pressed the Send button :-)

Answer:win 10 word 2010 email as attachment

I run into that problem with a few of my clients and the only solution for them was to get Microsoft Outlook so as to properly interface with Word and Excel. It's mostly the difference between using Webmail/Online E-Mail versus an installed E-Mail Client/Program. If a client doesn't want to buy Outlook or upgrade their version of Office to one that includes Outlook I advise to Save the document in the Documents/My Documents Folder, open their Browser to their Webmail page, create the message then Attach the file they created and Send.

I stupidly forwarded some sort of Word generated chainmail to my mother (she's very pissed at me right now). One of those that asks what's your favourite number, now scroll down..don't peek ahead kind. She has Windows XP and uses Word for her home business. Her email saved the attachment somewhere she can't find..possibly in a settings file. She lives on a different island then I, so until this weekend I can't look at it myself.

I can't see her saving the attachment, she's very wary of this type of mail. Most attachments are quarantined by her computer...could this be the problem?

Everytime she opens Word to create an invoice, this damn attachment takes over. Swears she can't delete it...I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Two things you might do:

1. You mentioned you already checked your "Recent Docs" list in Word, but also check your Recent Items list in the Vista Start menu. It may still be there. If it is, just do a Save As and save it to the location you need.

2. Do an Advanced Search of your entire computer. Press the Windows key with the F key.
That brings up the Search page - click the Advanced Search button to the far right to open the set up screen.
In the next screen check: the Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files option. Under Location, select Computer or Everywhere, and in the Name box, fill in the name of the file you?re looking for, or some text from within the file. (After this first search is completed, if it was unsuccessful, do additional searches for any other key words you think might be associated with that... Read more

Ok I am trying to configure Word 2002 to attach doc files as attachments only. I know I can attach manually but looking to check the settings for a novice friend - using my own PC - I find while the "email" to place the text into an email is functioning - the "email as attachment" button is disabled - I have checked in tools/options/general and "mail as attachemnt" is checked .But still it is disabled. I can think of no security firewall settings that would prevent this as I send attachments normally with Outlook Express 6 without a problem.-

Sometimes, the files will open, but it takes up to five minutes for them to open. I have made sure these documents are associated with the proper program and I have cleared the temporary file in Outlook by going through regedit to find the culprit HKEY.

I am totally baffled as to why this is occuring. Can you help?

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:
Application.Options.SendMailAttach = True 'Or False
ActiveDocument.SendMail

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

Sub Open_Hyperlink()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="hyperlink"
With ActiveDocument.Bookmarks
.DefaultSorting = wdSortByName
.ShowHidden = False
End With

Selection.Range.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True
End Sub

So then I found this bit of coding on the web, and tried imp... Read more

I opened a word 2010 document from an email in windows live mail desktop version and made some lengthy changes. Now I cannot find the document on my windows 7 system anywhere.

Please help

Peter

Answer:I cannot find a word document I opened as an email attachment

The file will be located in a folder somewhere in
C:\Users\(youraccount)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\

"\AppData" is normally hidden
"\Temporary Internet Files" is normally a hidden protected Operating System
file

You'll have to remove the checkmark (if they're hidden) in Windows Explorer:
Organize - Folder & Search Options - View

Good luck in finding it, though.

The correct way is to save the attachment first, then open it
from the saved location, if you wish to edit it.

Dell Inspiron 6400/Vista Home Premium. Originally all was well, then had to recover using Recovery Disc because Manual was XP based and did not account for recovery in Vista. Email sending went "off". Finds the server but will not connect. After some help got into the Factory image on partition D, then all was well with emails.Had to recover again (don't ask - I am a wrinkly fiddler), but found that the Recovery partition had nothing in it. I had never touched it! Recovered with Dell Vista disc and their Drivers and Utilities disc. Now the problem is back. Found that it might be SSL, but the download "Reset.bat" is clearly written for XP; I could not use it in Vista.Any help would be appreciated. In the meantime I am having a go at Dell for providing Vista machines with XP manuals, and not even amendment slips to differntiate XP from Vista.

Ok, I have searched for answers to this and I tend to get the same responses. Here's the situation: I have a fairly strong password to my Yahoo account, and I do not give it away. I have done a virus/spybot search, with no results. This morning, someone sent a spam email to everyone on my address book. I looked at my Yahoo account and saw it was accessed and even the IP address of him/her (it was in Mexico by a mobile device). My contacts were not erased, nor was my password (though I have now immediately changed it). The stange thing is that in my "sent" folder, there is only one email that went out, and it was to only 5 or 6 of my contacts, whereas there were dozens of returned emails from those who no longer exist, so I know they were sent.

It can't be that they "faked" my email address becuase they used every single person in my own EXTERNALLY saved address book. How?

Completely baffled. I've sync'd Windows mail with my Gmail account, everything back and forth is fine. Trying to send email w/attachments from Word 2003 results in nothing-no error, no nothing. I have the 'mail' icon on Word 2003 set, I can access the 'send to mail recipient' on 'file' so that I can enter email addresses to send the attached file to whomever-but when I click Send...nothing. I am absolutely at my wits end, and I can't self diagnose this to fix it. Again, my Gmail and Windows Mail are sync'd fine-can send msgs back and forth. I want to send a Word97 document via Groupwise5 (in Word File, send to, recipient) and it won't let me. I keep getting an error "The form required to view this message cannot be displayed. Contact your administrator." I click on OK and then I get: "Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure: Unspecified error."

I think we used to be able to do this when we ran Word97 on Windows 95, but since we upgraded to Win 2K we can't seem to get the send to function to work properly. Our tech support people say "As of right now we can't do this on the Win 2000 computers. It has to do with the Mapi spooler. You will just need to attach the document in Groupwise."

Does this sound right to you? Will this problem be resolved once we upgrade to Office 2K?

Answer:Word 97: Send To Email Recipient, Win 2000 w/ Groupwise 5

I may be barking up the wrong tree here, but I think this is to do with Microsoft's latest attempts to protect us all from virus attacks.

In Windows 2000 (and Outlook 2000 with SP2) the approach taken is a 'total clampdown' on attachments which has a number of unwanted side affects. One of these side affects is to disable the ability to Send To another mail recipient from within your applications.

If this is the problem, then upgrading to office 2000 will not solve the problem and I'm not sure what will. I have seen people with fixes for NT when Office 2000 SP2 had been installed, but not for Win 2000.

If nothing else, I hope this provdes some clarification.

Good luck.

Hello everyone, I'm REALLY frustrated so bear with me.

I have Office 2007 Home & Student Edition. I use Windows Live Mail for my email client.

I installed the office product, and created a new Word Document.
I click on the Office Button on top, select SEND TO EMAIL.. expecting Windows Live Mail to show up (set as my default mail program.) Instead I get this error:

Logon Failed. You Must log on to Microsoft Exchange to Access your
address book. Error Code: "unspecified Error"

So I figure, Ok, maybe Office 2007 is new (even thought it's 2010 now), and there might be some fixes. I downloaded the SP2 for Office 2007, thinking this must be a common problem.. as my computer is BRAND new.... I JUST installed Windows Live Mail on it... and Just installed Office 2007. I haven't had it for more than a few hours.

I install the SP2 Patch for OFF2007 fine. Rebooted. Then tried again.
No Joy.
I do some searching and find many Microsoft threads which indicate how to "use a Non-MS Email client with Office 2007" - Now wait! Isn't Windows Live Mail an MS product?

So then, I find many other forums where they indicate you can click SEND TO EMAIL 3 times and it will work. So... Just to confirm the mind of the hive is alive and well.. I try it... Success! But, this does NOT solve the problem! I need this to WORK!

I even try with Send document as PDF and it still takes 3 times to work. WTH?
Why does it work on try # 3, and not on try # 1?

I install the SP2 Patch for OFF2007 fine. Rebooted. Then tried again.
No Joy.

I do some searching and find many Microsoft threads which indicate how to "use a Non-MS Email client with Office 2007" - Now wait! Isn't Windows Live Mail an MS product?

So then, I find many other forums where they indicate you can click SEND TO EMAIL 3 times and it will work. So... Just to confirm the mind of the hive is alive and well.. I try it... Success! But, this does NOT solve the problem! I need this to WORK!

I even try with Send document as PDF and it still takes 3 times to... Read more

So I had prepared a document with graphics in MS Office Word, saved it, and then set about to send it via email. I clicked onto the email symbol, and got this error message instead;

"Logon failed. You must logon to Microsoft Exchange to access your address book.
Error Code "Unspecified Error".

Questions;

Where is the Microsoft Exchange, and how do I go about accessing it so that I can logon? Is there a link to MS Exchange in MS Office Word? It's nice of them to hold my address [contacts??] book, but I need to logon to use it too. How?Does anyone know how I get around this hiccup, or is this feature [email from MS Office Word 2007] limited to different versions of Vista/Office?

Answer:Failure - error trying to send email from MS Office Word 2007

Tony I'm curious,
Are you using Win Mail or Outlook as your default email client?
I note your question in this link
http://www.vistax64.com/windows-live...ame-email.html

If indeed it's Win Mail try this -
Control Panel. - Programs - Default Programs -set your default programs - wait for the list to populate - Windows Mail - set this program as default.

If I'm barking up the wrong tree you will no doubt tell me.

Hi all, I don't have Office 2013 yet but I am intending to upgrade a computer to Windows 8.1 Office 2013. One of the primary uses of this computer will be email and currently the fastest way to do things is to send email directly from Word. I have looked it up on the net and found a website that says that you can do this with Office 2013:
http://www.howtogeek.com/172420/how-to-send-a-word-document-as-the-body-of-an-email-message/
The only problem is that right at the end it also says:
“Note that there’s no real record of your sent email except as a Word document. If you want to keep a copy of the message for yourself in your email program (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.), select Bcc from the Options drop-down menu (the same menu where you selected to add the From field) and enter your email address in the Bcc field.”
Unfortunately as these will be important emails I really need to know if they have been sent, without having to just trust the user to remember to save or Bcc it. So my question is: Is there a sure way to have email come up in the sent folder in Outlook when sent from Word 2013? If not I may not get Office 2013.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I am not techy - does the word MAPI (not IMAP) mean anything in this situation.

Answer:send email in live mail direct from word 2007 doc

IMAP - Internet Message Access Protocol is one of the two most prevalent Internet standard protocols for e-mail retrieval. MAPI - Messaging Application Programming Interface is a messaging architecture and a component object model based application for Microsoft Windows which allows client programs to become email messaging-enabled or based. Here's more information on MAPI: Messaging Application Programming Interface

When I send an email that has a Word 2003 document attachment with a Table of Contents, the page numbers in the Table of Contents all change to the same number even though I have about 10 pages in the document. I am opening the document from within Outlook. Strangely I am able to Ctrl click on each 'same number' and link to the correct page. I'm using Outlook 2003 for email.

Note that I have refreshed the Table of Contents before sending the document.

Hope someone can help. I don't want to send out proposals with the Table of Contents looking so wrong.

Thanks for any assistance! spinningjennie

Win XP Home-Outlook Express 6

Obviously I have hit something which I can't figure out how to correct. When I open attachments in email to read, the attachment opens in the "save attachment as file"!

I just want to read the attachment and then deleat the email.

How do I correct the problem? I am sure this is something fairly simple.

Thanks in advance for advising a simple Mind!!
