reinstalled pc, now create email in Outlook 2002 does not auto fill email address like before

Question: reinstalled pc, now create email in Outlook 2002 does not auto fill email address like before

I have had to reinstall pc due to it going at a crawl!!

After installing Outlook 2002, I can not get Outlook to auto fill the email address field when I start to type an email address in it.

The address book is there and in tacked after copying the outlook.pst file back to its original location after install.

How do I get Outlook to autofill?

Also when I click the 'TO' button in the new email window, it says that there is no address book!
but when I click the address book icon in the main Outlook window there are email address there?!

Any ideas how I can get this to work correctly again.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: reinstalled pc, now create email in Outlook 2002 does not auto fill email address like before

When you did the re-install, did you erase/format the hard drive before the re-install? If you did and did not save the Outlook auto fill file, then the all the auto fills you had are gone. Did you import the pst file into outlook?

Sorry the first post had the wrong Outlook version.

Up until last week the auto address fill worked in Outlook 2002. Since then I have checked the box for word as editor but when I click on "New" it says Word is Busy or is not available. I found a prior thread where someone had the same problem with 2003 the response was to add a .dll, I tried that and it did not work. Any ideas.
Also tried system restore to go back one week when the auto fill worked but the system restore does not work.

Thanks,

I switched over from OE to Outlook 2000 and I had a question about auto-fill email addresses.

In OE I could start typing a name, say Joe and OE would automatically fill in as I typed the name if it was in my address book. So instead of typing joe smith, I could type jo and joe smith would be filled in.

Does anyone know if Outlook 2000 will do this same thing? I have looked everywhere for answers and I can't find anything.

Thanks
Mike

Answer:Outlook won't auto fill email addresses

I believe you either need Outlook2002/XP for that to work automatically or you can press Ctrl-K and it will pull up names in the Contact list.

I've been using Outlook Express for some time past, but now using Outlook 2010 more and more. OE auto-filled addresses that are in my Address Book as I typed.
How do I get Outlook to do the same?

Answer:Auto-fill email addresses in Outlook 2010

I use Outlook 2010 at work, and have never set up an address book as such. Outlook just autocompletes an address if I've ever sent an email to that addressee before.

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to stretch my resources and minimize some data entry, using the tools at hand. However, I've hit a bit of a wall on inspiration - looking for some ideas.

I have an Excel Spreadsheet (about 8 worksheets) that I use to log some daily activities - however, because I have a lousy memory, I like to email myself from the road with the notes for my Log. Then, when I return to the office, I either re-type (or copy/paste) my email notes into the appropriate sections of my log file.

What I'd LIKE to do is create a form and rule in Outlook that would auto-fill my Excel worksheets based on the text of my email. I'm not worried about Triggers (the rules setup on that end is simple enough for me), I'm more looking for the best way to have Outlook interact with Excel in this way.

I send emails from the road on my Android phone.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Well, this is rather annoying...

How do you edit an email address that you already have stored in your personal address book in Outlook 2002 (Office XP)? Seems a little different than previous versions. I go to Tools>Address Book (or just click the icon), double-click the address I want to change and it's greyed out - can't edit it.

The Outlook feature that automatically suggests email addresses as I begin to type in an address in email is not including many addresses that are no longer current. For example, when I try to send a message to my wife, it offers a list of six addresses, four of which are obsolete. I cannot find the file that contains these addresses to edit it. The various manuals speak of .wab files, but a search produces none. The only .pst file I can find doesn't contain the address list. Anybody know how to solve this one, I hope? BTW I am using XP and Outlook 2002.

Hi there

I re-installed Windows 10 and Office 2016. Latest version of Office 2016 won't let you create accounts manually -- you can CHANGE them once an account exists but if it there's the slightest thing wrong when it tries to find your account it bombs out and won't let you fix it. Apparently Office 265 has the same problem too.

Same thing is happening with Firebird.

Any way round this or do I have to re-install office 2010, create my accounts (the old fashioned way) and then do the upgrade to 2016.

I can get the MSDN Office 2016 from work but that's already updated so won't be any help.

Also what do you do if you want to set up your email and the internet isn't available -- nothing wrong in being able to prepare in advance.

PLEASE DEVELOPERS : I know you are all keen on this 1-click stuff and it's probably fine 90% of the time - but PLEASE leave a manual process for fixing things available when the auto process fails(even if the way in to it is not obvious)..

Cheers
jimbo

I work for a Non-profit organization and receive many emails. I was used to "Outlook Express" which automatically added all incoming email addresses to my address book.

But, apparently Outlook 2010 does not offer that option, or it's a complex process.

Hello,

When I click on a craigslist ad my yahoo email subject line no longer automatically fills in. Anyone know how to get this handy feature back? Thanks for any help.

Answer:yahoo email subject line won't auto fill

This depends on what Web Browser you're using. Most likely it's Internet Explorer, and you had it set to remember something specific or auto fill for that field. Often times, these can be screwed up by future actions. To prevent this, I would suggest downloading and using a program called "RoboForm". It will remember and learn information that you apply to a certain field in a web page. Each field has a specific name given by the web developer which you probably don't even know of. It remembers the form field name given like: yahoo_subj_field and then auto inserts text you entered into this field previously. IE does much of the same thing but can be screwed up easily throughout time.

Hello.
I've just found a pst file with all my old email. I'd like to put them back on the server (hotmail) but before doing that I've seen that some of them were not recived (or sent) to my actual address (@hotmail.com) but to an old one (@infinito.it). So I was thinking to export them from outlook 2013 to CSV, modify that address into the new one and then import them back on outlook 2013. The problem is that when I export them to CSV, in that file they don't have the date (received or sent) and so when I get them back on outlook 2013 they miss that info.
Can anyone help me doing this? I've been told that VBA macro should be useful for this, but having a look in it I have no idea of what I sould do.
Ah, instead of outlook 2013 I can also use thunderbird (45.3.0) if it's easier with it, but then I'd have to convert that pst file.
Thanks!

I'll bet you have not heard this one before. I was attempting to send an email to a potential client. Everything seemed to work well except that it was returned. The problem was that the address was changed somewhere. His name is spelled with a j but somewhere along the line, it was changed to a k and so there was no such person and therefore was returned to me.

I also have been getting a ton of spam emails myself.

I use:

-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier

Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.

Hi guys heres one that is driving me nuts.
an email account is set up with an isp here , its btconnect.com
so the email is say [email protected]
now joe has two email aliases on his account e.g.

[email protected]
and
[email protected]

now when joe accesses his account through outlook it obviously checks the btconnect account and sends the mail to the correct alias, but it cant seem to do it.
what happens is , it logs on checks one alias then the server errors whilst checking the other as it is still logged on i assume to the main btconnect mail account and so errors out

e.g [email protected] works and roofing.co.uk errors out
i would like to find a way to check flooring first and roofing after but cant figure it out
someone suggested using identities in outlook express but isnt outlook the better program and surely there is some kind of feature for this problem

usually after it gets its bearings it is then happy and says send receive complete but after a couple of tries and leaving an error message at the bottom of the screen
0x800cc0f
as it is trying to check the two accounts on the same email address at the same time.
any ideas anyone
i am even willing to try thunderbird instead
just the managers like the calender etc in outlook

Answer:Outlook Using 2 email aliases on one email address

still no ideas on this one.
maybe using rules in outlook would help.
I could just check mail from the BT account
e.g. [email protected] and filter the mail for the aliases into the corresponding mail box, but how then if a mail is written in outlook could it be send from the correct account.
e.g [email protected] or [email protected] rather than the mail appearing as though it was sent from [email protected] , wow outlook is confusing stuff lol.

When I reinstalled AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) on a new computer and tried to log on, where I had it set previously to open automatically, now it's requiring a password to log on initially. I went through the process of creating a new Email address and sent a test message from my other Email address to it but nowt happened.

Answer:I am not able to create a new Email address.

Give the new address more time for the email client's servers to recognize it....shouldn't be more than 24 hours.  Otherwise, make sure you are using the correct
address for the new email address.

If the problem persists....it might help others to help you if give the name of the email programs involved...like...Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook, etc.

EDIT: check the settings for the new email account....Outlook for instance, allows blocking all senders except those in your address book. Not likely
a default setting but worth the time to check the settings.

I am looking for a quick free way to get an email address that I create--all the way through, domain and all. Is there such a thing besides to join AOL?? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:Is it possible to create your own email address?

Well, all you have to do is buy a domain name from a hosting company, and then you have 2 options:

1. You set up e-mail forwarding so that anything which is sent to [email protected] gets forwarded to your current e-mail address... that way is a lot cheaper - most companies don't require hosting for that service, and it means that any1 who sends an e-mail to your old address will still reach you.

2. You get hosting for your domain. A lot more expensive. You will get POP3 access, and maybe even IMAP and webmail depending on the company again.

You should choose a company which is based in the same country which you live in as the speed tends to be a lot faster, as the ping is lower. It also helps with support and administrative issues. So what's it gonna be? I can give you advice on the cheapest hosting companies if you are willing to tell me where you live. If not, then it's not that hard to research... google it...

Does anyone know a way to create an email alias? I sometimes need to email data to people without enabling them to contact me (they're supposed to go through a help desk). I've looked at services like 10minute mail, but they don't enable you to create and send mail, only receive it. Any ideas?

Answer:How to create an email alias or expiring address?

Go through a help desk? Can I assume there is a web site, with a domain name in the mix somewhere?

I would use the email services connected to the web site or domain name to create a generic email account, then configure it with an "auto response" that responds to any email sent to it with a message to contact the help desk. You can then use the email to send and do not have to be concerned if the recipient attempts to respond to the email instead of contacting the help desk.

However if you only have access to "free" email like google mail, yahoo mail, etc, I do not think you have this option. It might be time to have your own domain name and use the associated email account?

Cheers!
Robert

Try will try to make this fast. Very frustrating...need help. Hard drive failed. Windows XP Pro. Reinstalled Outlook 2002 on diff hard drive. I receive mail but cannot send, keep getting "unable to send test message please verify the e-mail address" when running "Test account settings". I have three diff. accounts set up and they all give the same message. I have set up to gmail servers....just like before failure.

All settings the same as before drive failed and set up as instructed from google....I triple+ checked all settings. Tried different port numbers, called ISP and they do not block ports. Installed and uninstalled Office XP Pro multiple times...I am getting no where. I researched internet and have not found the fix...some people fix but not sure how it was fixed. Looks like very many have had the problem. I feel it is software...not settings in Outlook. I have run out of things to try or settings to change.

Hi all. I think this is an auto complete thing...

I have been logging into my email accounts via webmail for years via the same url. I have four different email accts, and when I load the page, I simply dbl-click in the email field, and I see all four addresses. If I click on one, the pwrd auto-fills, and I am good to go.

My host recently swapped me to another server, and I now have to access my webmail via a different url. I go to that url, and there are no email address there when I dbl-click in the email field. Ok, no biggie. I enter the first address and pwrd, and log in. Windows does not ask me if I want to save the username and pwrd. Weird. I log out, and log into the other three one by one, and with each, I am prompted to save the username and pwrd, which I do. I log out of the fourth one, and then attempt to log back into the first - which I can do, but Windows again does not prompt me to save the username and pwrd. I have rebooted twice, and each time I log in to that specific email, I just log in - no prompt. And that email is not in the email field when I arrive at the log in page.

Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Can't get auto complete to remember an email address

That's a nice explanation, but, what the heck webmail and browsers are you using??

If you're using IE, see: Internet Explorer AutoComplete - Turn On or Off for settings.
Since your Host changed servers that first addy may have to be placed in a trusted zone.
There's the possibility with the transfer of servers, the new server still thinks that, that first addy is already saved.
It could be the new server doesn't recognize a security certificate for that addy.
If browser settings are okay, I'd check with your Host.

And please; It would be very helpful if you would fill out your System Specs, you can use the tool included in the Tutorial here: System Info - See Your System Specs just read through the tutorial, use one of the downloads, and it will automagically fill them in for you.

Your welcome.

Running Visa Home 32 bit on a laptop, using Windows Mail/Outlook. The email address auto complete was working then all of the sudden it stopped. Now it will auto complete only email addresses that a message was sent to in the last 24 hours. I checked the settings and they are correct, it should be auto completing. I tried going in and deleting the reg key for that, no help. I restored it. I personally don't use Vista, this is for the bosses wife, so I don't know a lot about what else to do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

I went to log into my Yahoo mail the other day, I'm running Vista 64 bit on a Dell laptop. When I clicked on the "User Name" my regular email address was there but there was an entirely Different one that scares me. It's titled [email protected] and has a pre populated password.(hammond was my unmarried name)

Needless to say I did not open it, even tho my curiosity was killing me. I don't know why this email is there but it most certainly sounds suspicious to me!!

Has anybody ever heard of this and know what it is? How do I get rid of it? I'm afraid to even go into my real emai now from my computer. Everything seems ok with my email on my ipad and iphone.

Thank you!!

I created a MS Outlook (2002) form email template..It is saved as an oft. file type. I plan on making it available to users that I support as a support ticket that they fill out and submit to me. I need the users to be able to open this form and have the ability to add attachments. When I view that form as if I were a user the Insert/Item is greyed out.

Hi - not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree here, but I've set up a personal address book for a society and want to import 500-odd names and email addresses from an Excel file. I've saved this file as a CSV.I've got the Microsoft instructions, but can't find out how to import the information into the newly created addresss book. Am I missing something? All I want to do is email all the members with the same information (it's something they will be expecting!)Thanks - oh, got XP and Office 2000 (Outlook is 2002 as it came with my sync disc for my PDA)

Answer:Email merge, Outlook 2002

I understand what you want to do and you can import these by opening the address book and going file>import & export. Then select import from file, select CSV (Windows), and then navigate to the file.However. I prefer to do this another way. I have to communicate with 180 Rugby clubs and some 300+ referees. Basic information that includes for example the information we hold on our web based database. (They can update it using their own logins at any time) I am supplied an Excel spreadsheet with each individual, information fields and e-mail address from our webmaster. Because the information can change on a daily basis I couldn`t possibly keep track of it myself. This week I am reminding all the clubs that we need accurate info on club contacts, (Secretary, Fixture secretary etc)I do this by creating a mail merge document in Word that is linked to the current excel file supplied. I can then tell them what we have on our database for all their officers and their contact details. At the end of the merge I merge to e-mail. Check if this facility is available in your version of Office. Post back if you need more help. It`s a nightmare first time through!

When sending an email with an email signature (image w/hyperlink) those recieving the email get the signature with a functional hyperlink. However, on the PC sending the email if you look in the Sent messages or if I send an email to the owner of this account and then view the email in the Inbox the email signature image does not appear. The hyperlink works but the email sig image does not show.

I am using Outlook 2003 and run Windows XP.

When I create a new message I begin typing the name of the recipient and I would like it to match up with an address I have in my Outlook contact list. However, it does not read from there. It only seems to look at addresses that I have already sent to in the past. How can I get it to read from the address book? If I click on "TO" or "CC" it brings up another window with a list of addresses from my contact list. From there I can have it pull from the list. I would like to be able to do it withot the extra step.

Thanks!

I installed a trial version from MicroSoft of Office 2003. I did not like the interface as well as Office XP2002, which I have at work. So, I uninstalled 2003 and bought 2002 and installed it. The problem is, the email won't work. I get a "The operation failed" when I click Send and Receive. I can't just send an email either. I have a POP account through yahoo that worked fine in 2003. When I set up everything in the email, I run the little test thing that's in there and it sends and email to the server just fine. If I open Outlook Express, I can get it fine. I tried creating another profile and nothing. help!

I'm Desperate!

I sent an email a couple of weeks ago and forgot to copy it to my boss. Trying to cover my butt, I told him I did copy it to him when I sent it. Now he wants me to forward him my sent email that includes being copied to him.

Is there a way, perhaps with a shareware editing program, to fake it and make it appear that I did actually copy him on the email?

A quick response is greatly appreciated.

Hi Erskine

Welcome to the forum
In short the answer is no. My advise to you would be just come clean with your boss. Tell him you were sure you had copied him in, but obviously forgot. He might accept that, but covering it up and trying to falsify something could just make the whole thing a hell of a lot worse for you and you could end up loosing your job.

Honesty is the best policy.

I have Windows XP sp2, Outlook 2002 SP3, Word 2000 SP3.

Now here is what happened. i had Outlook 2000 installed and i was able to use word as my email editor. Then i had to install outlook 2002 so that i could syncronize my "IPAQ" hand held.

now when i send email messages i word does not open. Now i have gone into tools/options/Mailformat to change the message format to use word as the email editor .......... AND here is the problem. I am not able to select these 2 boxes as they are greyed out. i am able to select the "compose in this message format" I am also not allowed to change the stationary. but i can change the fonts
i do have a signature.
I followed the help procedure

Turn Word on or off as your e-mail editor or viewer
Do one of the following:

Turn Word on or off as your default e-mail editor for all new messages

From the main Outlook window, click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
Select or clear the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box.
Turn Word on as your e-mail editor for one new message

But as noted above i was not able to do that.

secondly i tried the following

On the Actions menu, point to New Mail Message Using, and then click Microsoft Word (message format).
i tried this but i got the following error message
MICROSOFT OUTLOOK "Can't create the item"

please advise what could be wrong here.

Hi, everyone.
I need to do a clean reinstall of my OS.

Anyway, before I FDISK everything out of existence, I need to back up all my crucial information, which mainly ends up being our email folders, email rules, and our half dozen or so email account configurations.

Can anyone help me with simple step-by-step instructions for backing up email folders, rules, and account info (SMTP server info, passwords, etc.) for Outlook 2002 (not Outlook express - everything online seems only to pertain to Outlook Express) on Windows XP?

In the past, I have tried just copying my .pst file to a cdrom, but that didn't backup our rules wizard rules or our email account configurations.

If I am leaving out any critical info, please let me know. Your help is appreciated!

hi,i am shortly changing jobs and my boss has asked me to set up outlook 2002 so that after i leave emails received to my address are automatically forwarded on to the boss.i would prefer my personal emails to not be forwarded along with everything else, so is there a way i can do this?i currently use rules wizard so that personal emails are sent to one folder, so does anyone know how i can forward only emails that are not in this folder? or, could i block all email addresses that i deem personal? i've looked into this, but it appears to only send them to the junk email folder, which is no use to me if outlook forwards on this folder as well.obviously, i am unable to experiment, without drawing attention within the office to what i am attempting! the advice i have found on the internet relates to Outlook Express rather than 2002.is anyone able to assist me? thank you!

Answer:outlook 2002 automatic email forwarding

Well.. it seems to me that if you know how to use Outlook Rules, then you ought to know that you have many variables to choose from.  For example, you can take all email from any address you deem as personal, and either delete it immediately, forward it to a personal email address, or even have the server send a reply for you.

I routinely attach files to outgoing email messages sent from Outlook 2002 (Outlook in Office XP).  Sometime around last spring I found I was not able to attach certain files but was able to attach others of the same type and from the same directory.  Example:  I have a folder named "Info for Models".  Amongst files in the folder are "Info1_Invitation.pdf", "Info2_More_Details.pdf", "Info3_Model_Guide.pdf", "Sample_Resume.pdf" and so on.The trouble began when I attempted to attach my Info1 file and my Sample Resume file to an email message I was preparing to send out.  I got this message:  "Can't create file: Info1_Invitation.pdf.  Right-click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder."This only occurred for this one file.  I could attach the other files.  I renamed Info1_Invitation.pdf to Info1a_Invitation.pdf and then was able to attach the renamed file successfully. Then a few days later another file failed to attach.  I found I was unable to attach "Sample_Resume.pdf" to an outgoing message.  I searched the Internet for cures.  I wound up changing the pointer to "Temporary Internet Files" from "C:\Documents and Settings\dmckeen\temp\Temporary Internet Files" to "C:\temp\Temporary Internet Files".  I made the change from &qu... Hi every one,

I am having a problem with backing up my email accounts in Outlook. I want to back up my outlook, just manually, not using any softwares, and I can do so with emails, rules, address book etc. But the only one thing I cannot back up is email accounts. I use Outlook XP 2002, and unfortunately, in the E-mail Accounts Tab (Tools - Email Accounts - View or change existing email accounts) there is no Export Tab for any of my email accounts. Microsoft Outlook seems to not have any tool to back up email accounts? So anybody has suggestion?

Anyway, I heard that there is a way of backing up email accounts by exporting keys in regedit. But actually, I don't know how.

Thank you

Answer:Issue with receiving email: Outlook 2002

Hi rpi

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Have you tried the Detect and Repair option in the Help menu?

Have you tried creating a new Profile?
With Outlook closed:
Control Panel > Main Icon > Show Profiles > Add

Set up a new Personal Folder (.pst) with your email account and restart Outlook with the new Profile to see if you can duplicate the problem.

If the problem goes away, open the original .pst file into the new Profile.
File > Open > Outlook Data File
Browse to the .pst file, usually in the C:\Windows directory.

See if the problem returns, if it does, copy all the folders from the original Personal Folders (.pst) into the new Personal Folders (.pst), then Right click on the original Personal Folders and select Close to remove it from the new Profile.

Let us know what happens.

Outlook 2002 is not compatible with Windows 7.
It needs Outlook 2003 or later, but preferrably Outlook 2007 or later.

However, I seem to have lost al my email messages...I have most backed up, but not the most recent; over the last few months, from April to the present.

Is it possible that those messages are still somewhere on the machine, hiding? How can I search for them?

I need to add an email account to Outlook 2002 for a user. When I try to do so I'm told I cannot do so from within Outlook and I must create the new account by accessing the "Mail" icon in control panel. The problem is there is no mail icon in the control panel. I'm not certain if this is a result of a security policy or if there's something else I'm missing. The OS is Win2K SP3, fully patched and up to date. I tried uninstalling Outlook and then reinstalling under the users profile but the issue persists. I would imagine there must be some way I can delete the current Outlook profile via the registry. If anyone can shed some light on how I might resolve this issue I'd be greatful. Thx.

Answer:Excell 2000 - Turn off auto underline of eMail address

For now, all I have to offer is to use a table in Word instead. Even in Word, however, you'll have to go to Tools-Autocorrect, Autoformat as you type tab and remove the checkmark from the urls thingee.

When you're done, you can copy/paste back into Excel.

Alternatively, you could do everything else, copy/paste into Word, do the hyperlink column and copy/paste back into Excel.

I recently moved and got an email address from  google.  My Microsoft 2010 Outlook email still has the old IP address and service provider (Fairpoint).  I need to change my Microsoft Outlook setup to use the new Neatgrear 45 Router
thru Time Warner Cable.  I cannot find instructions no how to make the change.  Any help

I've just started using Outlook 2002 and I'm runnning into two things that are bugging me...

1. I can't find a way to set it up so that my email is automatically retrieved like I could in Outlook 98. Have they removed this feature? I used to have OL98 set up to get email every 5 minutes so that if someone was trying to get in touch with me I wouldn't have to think about doing it manually.

2. Even though I've got one accounts set up as "Save this password...", it either doesn't get saved as it should or it has the wrong password in it.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

Answer:Outlook 2002 --> Automatic Email Retrieval & Passwords

For your 1st question try under Tools, Options. Click on the Mail Setup tab. The second item on this tab is entitled "Send/Recieve" Click on the "Send/Receive" button and you can set up how often you want Outlook to check for mail.

I hope someone can help recover the email address capability on my wife’s system with Outlook 2002 and keep my wife happy . I think I blew away a file of some type. I still have all the contacts (with emails addresses) but when I go to send an email and I click on the “To or CC” so I can select an email name there is nothing there. When I try to add an email manually it will not take it although it puts it in the contact database. I tried to do “detect and repair” and I also did a reinstall but I keep getting an error code about an Access DB missing. Reloading from a the backup file also does results in the same problem.

Recently my outlook has stopped sending emails. I have the incoming POP3 server set to the default of 110, and have tried having outgoing SMTP set to 25, 587, and 995 all with no luck. Every time I test the email it gives me the error that it was unable to connect to the outgoing mail server. if I change the outgoing SMTP to the setting that has worked for years, 325, it just says the sending of the test email is in progress and can stay like that for hours with no change. If I change any of the incoming settings it gives me error code 0x80042109. There were no new updates or changes applied recently it just seemed to stop on its own. I can still receive email but every time I try to send one it just gets stuck in the outbox.Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

In case of abuse, contact either your Internet Service Provider or your E-mail service provider.

I know it's proably something fairly easy that i'm missing. But all I want to do is send an email that is in html.

I have a notepad document that is written in HTML and i want to just compose the Email message with that html code.

If I just copy and paste the text then it literally just shows the tags in the email.

Thanks,

Brougham

I have a situation where someone has 2 email addresses. One of them is now redundant and I have deleted it from the People section. However, when I am set to make a new email to that person and type the first letter of their name, in the pop up window (that you can click on) their old email address still appears.
How do I delete this from that list? Can find no way to do so.

Answer:Outlook Email - Deleting Wrong Email Entry when starting new email

In new email, start typing the address you want to remove. When you have enough characters for auto complete to show it (sometimes one letter is enough), use DOWN ARROW key on keyboard to select the address in question and press DEL key.

That's it.

I am used to typing in just the main part of a URL, then click ctrl-shift-enter together after highlight the address bar. IE will automatically fill http://www and .com.

Recently, however, after downloading a software from a Chinese site, the aforementioned operation will only bring up the Chjinese search engine, Baidu.com.

e.g., gype google, then either perform the aforementioned steps or simply hit the enter key, that is what I will get:

http://www.baidu.com/s?tn=utf7_dg&wd=google

Any suggestions for getting rid of this bug?

Thanks.
