Security Toolbar 7.1 and Yellow Triangle Warning Removal

Question: Security Toolbar 7.1 and Yellow Triangle Warning Removal

Security Toolbar 7.1 at the top of IE installed itself as well as System Warning Messages (yellow triangle) saying "System performance monitor:Warning" and continuous IE windows popping up advertising / warning about spyware as well as Internet Explorer Warnings with OK or Cancel options. Have tried multiple virus scanning software / spyware scanning software to no avail. Have also tried Smitfraudfix.exe to no avail. Also haven't identified any new programs in add/remove programs to remove.

Preferred Solution: Security Toolbar 7.1 and Yellow Triangle Warning Removal

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all I've just wasted my weekend trying to delouse my wife's computer. I've run Spybot, Adaware, AVG antivirus + antispyware and even smitfraudfix in safe mode. I've managed to oust the viruses and the browser hijacker, but I'm still getting a SystemIntegrity Scan Box/Security System Warning asking me to visit PC-Antispyware site and the yellow triangle in my system tray that brings me to system defender. I'm going to post my HJT file below and pray for help!! Thanks in advance,

Hi - hoping for some expert help.... I have a serious combination of malware on my HP laptop running Windows XP professional... Sysmptons include:1. Yellow Triangle in bottom right taskbar with a black exclamation point... it cycles through several white balloon warnings.... "system performance monitor warning" and various other warnings listing names of viruses I have contracted "PSW-x-Vir trojan" "[email protected] others.... Also have a toolbar below internet address line in Explorer.... that says "Security Toolbar 7.1" and two ICONS on my desktop that keep coming back - one a blue shield and the other a green shield...Initially, my control panel was missing - but I ran Adaware SE, Superantispyware and Smitfraud... as well as changed the registry key for "no control panel" and was able to get my control panel back and renove a directory called "yazzle" - which at least has not come back....Getting a ton of popup... plus the white balloon windows about every 30 seconds.... So last Friday I put a new hard drive in my wife's laptop and restored her circa 2005 Windows XP. Much to my chagrin Norton was not activated and there was no SP2. I know not putting them both in was what led me down this road and don't need to be told I'm dumb, tyvm. So on Friday my wife was surfing, weather.com I think, and got blitzed with malware and viruses. I've put in SP2 and put in AVG antivirus, plus Adaware and all the other tools I needed to cleanse. However, even after running all the programs and following ALL the steps I still get a yellow triangle popup in the system tray (which tells me I'm infected with spyware and goes to system defender) and, when I run a browser, 2 types of Security Warning/Integrity popups, which tell me to install pc-antispyware. So ANY help would be appreciated. SAS, MBAM, and MGtools logs are attached.

Thanks trillions in advance!

C

PS I'm not sure MGTools worked completely to generate the log, even after I installed .net 3.5 . ANYway!

Hi
I don't know if this is a software related issue, but here goes. I've suddenly been getting a small yellow warning triangle popping up in my taskbar. If I click on it, either right or left, it just disappears and won't lead me anywhere or offer information etc - not very helpful. It then reappears pretty quickly and just sits there. What is going on & where should I look for more information?
Thanks

Answer:Yellow warning triangle

It might be worth paying a visit the the malware forum to make sure it's not a malware problem.

JUst received a yellow Flashing triangle that says system alert in bottom right hand of
screen next to clock. Tells me System Alert: [email protected], click this baloon
to download official security software. What is this and what do I do? Thank you

Answer:Yellow Warning Triangle

It's an add from some malware you have installed.

Download HijackThis from this link:

http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe

Click the downloaded file. It will extract to Program Files\HijackThis. Run it from that location and copy the log. Paste it here for analysis.

I usually use the Firefox browser, but somehow on some occasion when using IE, I now have four trojans.

What I mean by this is that I have a Yellow Triangle with an exclamation point in it in my taskbar that lists the Trojan that I have and suggests that I click on the balloon to download spyware for to get rid of the trojan - which is just more spyware.

I have in the past removed a the Vundo Trojan using CC Cleaner and AVG and the Norton Antivirus recommended removal tool, but this time CC Cleaner and AVG aren't doing much. My other spyware scanners aren't doing much as well.

Here are the four names it lists:
PSW.x-Vir
[email protected]
Spyware.Cyberlog-X
[email protected]

here is my HJT Logfile:

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Basically, last week I bought this laptop
And I started off working fine until a few days ago when my internet went off. The wifi logo has a little yellow triangle warning sign next to it and it says Limited. I started off by resetting my wifi but that didn't work then I tried connecting to my iPhone hotspot and that didn't work either and was also saying Limited!! It's obviously not the wifi but the laptop that is the problem.
How can I fix this???
Please help!!!!!!

Answer:ifi logo has a little yellow triangle warning

Did your router reset when your Internet went off? Try turning on the "download over metered connections option"

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3162-wireless-network-metered-connection-set-windows-10-a.html

Alternatively rigjt click your wireless symbol amd select the repair /check for problems option it may fix itself

It appears in the system tray thingy. Yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, on bootup. I tried right/left clicking on it, but it vanished. So, being clever, I checked the "System" bit of the event viewer. There are a few entries, there, with the triangle beside them. I check "Properties" and it gives me the attached message. I can't pinpoint an event after which this thing appeared, unfortunately. XP Pro.
I'm not having any difficulties on the network, though it's sometimes impossible for Jane to access my machine. I have complete access to hers (heh-heh!). The shared internet connection's fine, too. We're not having any problems connecting to the net, either.

Ought I be worried?

I started off by resetting my wifi but that didn't work then I tried connecting to my iPhone hotspot and that didn't work either and was also saying Limited!! It's obviously not the wifi but the laptop that is the problem.
How can I fix this???
Please help!!!!!!

Answer:ifi logo has a little yellow triangle warning

Did your router reset when your Internet went off? Try turning on the "download over metered connections option"

http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3162-wireless-network-metered-connection-set-windows-10-a.html

Alternatively rigjt click your wireless symbol amd select the repair /check for problems option it may fix itself

There's a yellow warning triangle on the htpps part of the web address when i was trying to log in to my eBay account. This has never happened before and i'm the only user on the computer. Is it safe to log in or has my computer been hacked ? A virus and malware scan was all clear.

Hello,
I had an issue today that started with no internet connection.  I am wired through cable and was unable to connect all day.  Multiple restarts and reset of router.  Restarted computer and now have connection however I have these yellow triangles with exclamation marks on all my desktop icons.  All seems to work well however I cannot rid these symbols.  I am running another Malware Bytes prem. scan however previous today did not find anything.  I have no flags or warnings in tray in regards to this.
I am finding all kinds of information however nothing exact on this issue.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks very much.

UPDATE- lost connection again, all icons went to a green circle with a check mark in center.  I have never seen these symbols previously on the desktop icons.  I again now have connection.
Not sure what this is.

Answer:Yellow warning triangle on desktop icons

The yellow triangle on the icons means the program is set to run as administration on the compatibility mode tab.

Hello,

I created 2 communications ports (COM1 and COM3), but near them is a yellow warning triangle.

I also attached a print-screen of the message displayed in the properties of one of the communcations port.

Thank you.

Answer:communications port yellow warning triangle

I don't believe your LT has a physical comm port. You would need a USB adapter cable and it's associated drivers to have a working comm port.

I was checking my payments history in my Paypal account when i noticed a yellow warning triangle over the padlock in the address bar. The https:// part is still there, so i'm wondering has my account been hacked as it says the content on the page may be insecure. The green padlock was showing when i first logged into Paypal.

Answer:Yellow warning triangle on Paypal account address ?

The yellow triangle means that some of the resources (maybe just images) are not secure (e.g. not from a secure source). It is not uncommon for this to happen and usually nothing to worry about.
It happens because the website designers/developers haven't done their job properly. If a site is meant to be secure (https), then all of the resources should really be taken from a secure (https) server. Clearly some developers are lazy and take some resources from http servers.

I have an account with a password. Recently, that password has been displayed at the top of every page I open, one chrome opens. It is displayed with a yellow warning triangle. If I go via this link to a sync page (told to re-enter my password - I have latterly set up 2 step verification as I thought this may clear it, and set up another account (with different names etc, where the problem does not exist but all my uses of Chrome are tied to the first account) - the box that pops up takes the 2 step but never signs in - just has the 'loading symbol' of the circle going round and round. I have also gone via a different way, and come to the same page where the same request is made and I have gone to Advanced (this is how I learnt to set up 2 step). I took Chrome off my computer completely, I thought and then reinstalled it. What could be the problem? I have two other devises that I log in with Chrome - one needs fixing as Google has disappeared and needs to be reinstalled to make anything work (my Kazam phone) the other media is a Go Tab tablet - I can access Gmail from my accounts, from both working media (the other is a Dell laptop) but I want to know why the triangle is there as this means a problem that I cannot fathom.message edited by goldtrees

I am getting the yellow triangle warning on my internet icon in the system tray with the caption (upon click) "No internet access" even though my internet is working fine. I had this problem when I was running Windows 7 and it still persists after my update to Windows 10.
Rebooting my modem and router sometimes clears the warning. Rebooting my PC does not clear the problem but sometimes a full SHUT DOWN and then restart will. Any ideas, please?

Answer:Yellow triangle warning on Network icon in Notification Area

If connectivity is limited and if only the local network is available, you will see a an exclamation mark over the Network icon or the Wi-Fi icon.
You will have to troubleshoot Limited Network Connectivity issues.

Answer:Yellow Triangle Not Going/Some time yellow triangle goes but then also not working

we do no provide remote support on the P Chere

using xirrus see what sort of signal you are getting around the house
if the strength is -70 or lower (note negative number) then that would be why you have a connection issue as the signalis not strong enough in those areas
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and install the program.
You will now need to take a screen shot and copy that back to the working PC and attach the screen shot in a reply on the forum here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Hi

I am experiencing a pretty big problem and I know next to nothing about viruses. There is a little yellow triangle in the task bar that pops up warnings like "System Alert: Malware threats", "System Alert: [email protected]" and "Security Alert: [email protected]" Also I receive internet explorer popups to random sites about once a minute even though I am using mozilla. I would really appreciate if someone could look at my logfile and see whats wrong with this because it is slowing down my computer a ton and really screwing things up for me. Thanks a bunch!

I recently received a spam text message on my cell phone that referred to a website called bluedatz.com. While trying to find out about the website I got hit with some adware, spyware, malware and lost some of the operating system functionality. I cleared up most of the problems but am still periodically getting a yellow toolbar popping up telling me that I am infected and need to download their software. Since it is not visible at this time I can't cut and paste the link for you. I have however generated a hijack this log and have pasted it in this posting. Could you please review the log and let me know what you find. Thanks, Rich J - Maine

I believe I sucessfully removed the toolbar (w/ HighjackThis) but the thin yellow bar that sticks to the top of the page is still present. How can I remove this? I included my HighjackThis log. Below is an excerpt from an article I read earlier about the Elfwgps virus, the thin yellow bar they speak of is the one I am trying to get rid of - below the excerpt is my log. Thanks in advance for any help!

"The Elfwgps Toolbar displays fakes alerts, warnings and links to rogue anti-spyware products. Four icons and text are present within The Elfwgps Toolbar – Remove Popups, Scan Spyware, Security Test, & Spam Protection. All icons lead to rogue security products.
Another common symptom of The Elfwgps Toolbar is a thin yellow bar that appends itself to the top of the search results page. The message: “Warning: possible spyware or adware infection! Click here to scan your computer for spyware and adware…”. The Elfwgps Toolbar will also drop Elfwgps.dll into the system registry."

Answer:Yellow triangle

and welcome to the Forum

Are you connecting wired or wireless?

With the pc connected to the router, Click on Start . . Run . . type CMD

At the > prompt type type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Come back here and Paste the results in a message.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

I keep getting a little yellow triangle with a ! on it in the lower right hand corner of the screen by the clock. Every few minutes while I on the internet, I will hear a "pop" sound and it will show up. I have tried right-clicking on it and left-clicking on it, and when I do, it will just disappear. Also, when I put the cursor on it, it won't even tell me what it is, as with the other icons on that task bar.

HELP! I have run a partial virus/spyware scan and it came up clean. I am now running a scan on ALL files, and am now waiting for that to be completed.

My husband installed a wireless router this weekend (for use with our laptop and our Wii), and also installed software from our internet provider that is supposed to upgrade our service to make it faster. Could either one of these be the cause?

TIA.

Answer:yellow triangle w/ !

If you can get us a screenshot of it, that might help

Question: Yellow Triangle

Hi Guy,I work in a school and they are setting up a new ICT suite. I teach Math?s so my networking knowledge is very basicThe ICT tech has wired the room in cat5 (from each of the 20 machines back to a 3 com 24 port switch) The internet will be provided by a BT business hub and internet package (the phone line has still to be put in) so no broadband router yet.The tech connected all the pc?s (XP pro) to the 3 com switch today and each machine has the yellow triangle (limited or no connectivity) on the network icon.I would be most grateful of you could answer the below questions 1. Why is this message appearing (is it something to do with the ip address)2. When the BT broadband router comes and is installed into the switch will this limited or no connectivity error disappear. (Can you explain why??)3. If say hypothetical they just wanted the room for just sharing files and printing and no Internet is it possible to remove this error.Once again I would appreciate any info on the above. It might seem very simple to you but any insight would be great.RegardsDiarmuid

Answer:Yellow Triangle

there is, or there's going to be a central network server?Or are the computers simply going to share a broadband internet service? If you can supply a little more information I'll try to answer your questions.

Hello, I am new to the forum. I have been spending this week updating my laptop. I have seen improvment but one. While I am applying for jobs on a particular site, after checking the appropriate boxes I get an exclamation point in a yellow triangle asking me to make a selection. Even though I have done that several times, it's just not recognizing that I have checked these boxes. When I look into tools of browser & click on error console there are several items pertaining to fonts, etc. on this site. so I cannot complete the job application process.

What can I do/or you can help me step by step so that I can use this site? Thanks.

Answer:! in yellow triangle

can you post a link - is it always the same type of link - which selections are causing issues - it may be the site rather than you , what web browser are you using ?

Hi

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which we would have had you run last time you had malware infection as they are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
Bitdefender - from step 6
Panda Scan - from step 6
runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require tha... Read more

Posting for a friend, who has a virus that puts the yellow triangle with an exclamation point on the toolbar, warning of viruses. It slows down the computer significantly, and makes browsers almost unusable. AVG has said that there could be upwards of nine trojans, and healing does nothing, vaulting asks to make sure you wish to force it. I told her not to, as the virus could be on a system file. Anyways, here's the log, thanks for the help:

Hello it seems that whenever I launch a 3d application for longer then 10 minutes I get a black exclamation point encased in a yellow triangle. First however, within my application the entire screen would flash on and off then it would stop responding.

With the information I could find before posting on this forum it seems to be a virus of some kind that nod32 and SuperAntiSpyware were unable to remove. Of course there also seems to be a windows error with this same picture, however it gave me no clue as to why it was there.

Also note: Ever since I installed service pack 1 Windows Defender and Windows Mail have DLL errors, (Mpclient not found for Windows Defender) (MSOE not found for Windows Mail) however both .dll files are still in their respective folder.

Heres my Hijack this log, thanks in advance.

Hello, I am having problems with a yellow triangle with a exclamation mark in it popping up in my task bar next to the clock. I was trying to go to MSN website and fire fox said it could not find the address. That is when I noticed the yellow triangle. Friday night my wife had an ad pop up saying your computer is infected click here to fond out how to clean it. I figured it was adware so I ran my Avast virus scan and it found a couple viruses that it quarantined. That happened Friday and today is the first time I have seen the yellow triangle.
I am running WinXP SP2 (tried downloading SP3 but it kept dying in the middle of download), use fire fox except when doing updates for microsoft ( I use IE8 for that). Here is the log I got from Hijack This. If any more info is needed let me know. And thank you very much.

hi there

I am working on a laptop and ever since it got the virus I have had the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it and the wireless internet doesnt seem to want to connect anymore. I search around for ways to fix this and i found out about smitfraudfix and used it and now the yellow triangle is gone. But the internet still doesnt work. I installed Bitdefender Antivirus and removed the trojan that it found but it seems like the computer is still hot since it has been an abnormal amount of trojan trying to get in.

I have included the HJT log and Smitfraudfix log of after the removal of the yellow triangle. PLZ help and thx.

i have been getting a yellow triangle appearing in my toolbar the last few months. it stays for a couple of minutes then disappears. while it is there the other toolbar icons do not display their names when i hover over them.
i have not left-clicked the triangle at all.
the only malware detected by AVG recently was a false positive trojan.
i enclose a picture of the toolbar complete with yellow triangle.

what will happen if i leave it ?
also is it safe to use the Combifix program as i have read several reports that it may contain rootkits ?

This is not the yellow triangle in the taskbar. When my antivirus attempts to load, i get a dialog box with yellow triangle and a exclamation point in it, with no text. I attempted to format my drive, which did not resolve the issue. I attempted to use the DDS thing to get all my processes, but I guess it does not support vista 64. No amount of google searching has helped me so far... Hopefully someone is able to help me out. Thanks a lot for your time. Here is a ss of the error box. I get it when i try to turn on Mcafee antivirus.

OS: Windows Vista home premium 32-bitEvery so often whilst running applications (games mainly) the program appears to freeze, and the sound will play in a 'broken loop' for a few seconds (i.e. repeat the same part over and over). The screen will then go black, and after a few more seconds the program will be back to normal (Unless it's an online game in which case the game's protection shield will close it down). After this a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark appears in the notification area of the task bar. Clicking it does nothing/opens no menus. In the 'customize notification items' window it is called "".I've read around for help with this and tried;- uninstalling all Adobe products- checking for any suspicious processes in the task manager (though to be honest, I'm not sure what I'm looking for)- Running scans using AVG anti-virus, AVG anti-spyware and SUPERantispyware- Running SmitFraudFix.exe as detailed hereI've uploaded a picture of the triangle hereI'm a technical newb, so if you're kind enough to help, please be patient with me! ^^;Thanks

Answer:Yellow Triangle On Task Bar

My experience of this has only been on XP but the only time I have ever seen an exclamation triangle in the taskbar is when I've run out of RAM for the system or graphics card (graphics cards only in certain configs). Windows may be increasing your page file on your hard drive and shifting some stuff on to it, which could be causing running programs to freeze momentarily.
Is your graphics card dedicated or shared?
How much RAM do you have?
The default pagefile setting is "Let windows define my page file size" You could try setting this to a manual setting, possibly about 1gb.

Hope this helps!

Ok, I'm new so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Anyways recently over the past few days I've noticed two flashing triangles in the taskbar. One just flashes and randomly puts up that balloon trying to make me download programs. The other changes between a yellow triangle and a blue spikey ball, also popping up balloons. My homepage has also changed, it keeps blocking off certain webpages that I frequently visit (like my email inbox and one of my forums), it brings up lots of popups, and the classic: my computer has slowed down tremendously. I noticed I had a lot of programs (my dad downloaded them while I was out *sigh*) like PestTrap, Virus-Bursters, WinAntiVirus Pro 2006, that were the cause most probably. I followed instructions and went into safe mode etc. I managed to get rid of them all (or what I know of) except WinAntiVirus Pro 2006. It's currently sitting in my Control Panel refusing to uninstall. Still I'm getting all the symptoms from before (though I think it's gotten worse) so I'm not sure if the other programs have actually gone. I ran HijackThis and these are the results I got. Please help.

Hi guys,

I have just noticed these 2 icons on ''My Computer'' page. A yellow triangle and a green circle.

I'm happy with the green circle, but the yellow triangle is annoying me.

I've had a look in device manager but no problems there, I've also looked in event viewer for errors but there is nothing wrong there either.

Any help would be great.

TIA

You could run a chkdsk /r as an administrator from the cmd prompt, but have a look in Action Center to see if anything is flagged.

Have you been using any tune-up programs or registry cleaners ?

The website pcidatabase.com let's you look up unknown hardware. Based on what you posted, it seems to be an Nvidia nForce System Management Controller. I'm taking this to mean you have an Nvidia-based motherboard. There is likely a driver available for this on your motherboard's website. If Windows update doesn't find it, go there and download the driver.

Right click on the system tray or taskbar, click "properties" then click "customize" then look for "Past Items" you should see your Yellow Triangle with an explanation beside it.

Check Device Manager, click "show hidden devices" and report any flagged devices here.

How much free space do you have left on your HD ?

Check for BIOS update.

There seems to be a BUNCH of possible causes, but it seems also that the consensus is that this is a serious problem that should be investigated.

If none of the above is useful, I'd start searching from here:

Good afternoon,

Pop-up after pop-up after pop-up.....annoying to say the least. I clicked to install ActiveX the other day and now I am getting a yellow triangle with an "!" inside of it. It keeps telling me that my computer is infected with a Trojan. When I click it it takes over my msn.com-directed homepage on IE and replaces it with some random Anti Virus "fix" site.

I am not advanced with code, I would consider myself an Intermediate computer user. Also, I do not have the funds to purchase software online to make these fixes...so "free" is my friend right now.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

one pop up is a window with the title: Windows Internet Explorer
[email protected] is a virus that infects with .exe extentions.
(I never do, I know better) it then goes on to say it steals passwords and private info.
the other thing is the yellow triangle in the start button icon bar on right side at the bottom of the screen, blinking on and off, I click it to see what it says it states: bestseller antivirus installer, that is the title, under that
it states: please click continue to protect your pc against viruses, identity theft, spying, and unauthorized downloads. by clicking continue button, you are accepting our terms and conditions. the words: terms and conditions is a link in blue. then at the bottom. it has a continue button. I just click the X button at the top to close it.
One more thing is 2 two Icons i keep deleting and they keep coming back. they are as states: "Online Security Guide" and the other one is "Live Safety Center" Keep trying to get rid of them and can find where they are seated, when I run regedit. I ran your combo spyware download and I also ran Hijack this and saved it. I need to know what to do from here without format and reinstalling because to backup some of my info. they could be hiding and waiting for me to reinstall that to come back. BY THE WAY, THIS IS WINDOWS XP ON AN EMACHINE W3507 DESKTOP

I live in the Philippines out in the country away from the city because of location have to use broadband internet.    Up till a couple weeks ago it was not all that bad and especially during off peak hours, early morning.

The signal is not all that good and I installed an 850-2100 MhZ signal booster, really helped and eliminated several problems.

All of a sudden unable to connect to the internet during day time hours.  I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and no internet access.  Signal strength is above 90%, good strong signal but no access.  During off peak hours, midnight to 8 or 9 AM there is no connection problem and for here it's fast.

I have tried a different laptop and also a differnet USB modem, new SIM card and have the same results, no internet access during peak hours.

Have a paper trail at least a mile long to the internet provider and their response is always the same thing......"We are sorry for your inconvenience and have forwarded your problem to our technical team."  Biggest problem is "THEY"  are the only game in town!!!!  No choice, tried the competition and the connections is so slow that it is not usable.

Can anyone offer suggestions for sloving this problem.

I am 70 years old and retired, the internet is my link to the outside world and am tired of getting up at 2AM to get online!!!!

thanx,

LRAYT

I am not sure this will work but see if changing your DNS servers to OpenDNS or Google DNS solves the problem. Write down any current DNS servers addresses in case you need to revert. Remember to flush your DNS and browser caches.

Right-click it or mouse-over it and see what it says... Probably a display or internet problem... If you just want to sugar coat the problem, you could right-click the taskbar, and change the options so that icon is always hidden. If you're using Win XP, it should be in the XP, not Vista, forum.

Hello. I am working on a company computer that someone got a virus on. At the time there was no antivirus software in use. After the issue came up, someone tried to install Symantec Antivirus 9.0 corporate, but screwed up the install, and now I can't remove it because of a corrupt install. I tried to follow the symantec web page for how to remove it manually from the registry, but that failed. So, i am unable to install any other virus software at this time other than norton system works, which is crap, and did not find any problems. As with the flashing triangle, comes an array of pop-ups and a slow computer. Also, half the time when i start the computer, explorer fails to load, and I have to manually launch it from the taskbar menu to get it running. Here is the hi-jack this log AND an online virus scan from Kaspersky. If anyone has any help or ideas, please let me know. Thanks again in advance for any help you can offer. I just bought a new HP laptop 17-y003AX and after a month or so I just noticed this:  I tried updating it, but Device Manager said I had the latest version. I tried uninstalling it and then restarting my computer, but again to no avail. Please tell me How I should fix this.

Hi All,

Hope you can give me a hand on this one. Everytime I plug my internet to my PC, a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark flashes in the system tray. Additionally, there is a pop-up window that constantly shows up

"Critical system warning. Your system is probably infected with latest version of spyware.Cyberlog-X." along with some more data. My IE homepage has been changed to http://htepo.com/cehpmoin/?cmp=hmr&l...981B29CCF352F2
and I have been unable to change this. Also, I keep receiving constant pop-ups in IE saying that I'm infected.

I have tried to do some work on my own, but I have not been successful. Ran AVG anti-spyware 7.5, Spyware Doctor, Ad-aware SE personal, Norton Antivirus and eliminated all threats, and the problem persists. I have also tried to monitor active processes that might trigger the problem, but I cannot identify the one affecting my system. I considered to setup a sniffer trace or a packet capture to see what is happening in the background, but did not perform this step, as I think this has to do with a process, and not internet traffic.
I followed your suggestion about running online panda scan, however it wont allow me to do that.

Answer:Yellow triangle in system tray!!!

Hi,

As a quick follow up, while doing further testing with Sysinternals process monitor, everytime a yes-no pop-up window opens up, there is a "Thread create" and "thread exit" for winlogon.exe (sequence 0 and 1040). When the yellow triangle shows up in the system tray, EXPLORER.exe shows up with "Thread create" and "thread exit" as you can see in sequence 363641 and 364262. I'm attaching an export from process monitor. You can open it up with the application by going to file > open option.

When I start my laptop I get this annoying callout box that reads:

Your computer is infected!
Windows has detected spyware infection.

It is recommended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss.

Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you.

Click here to protect your computer from spyware.

When I click the icon or box nothing happens. I have tried searching google for some answers but it has led me nowhere. Hopefully I can get some help here.

i have the following problem: I have the problem with the yellow triangle saying about slow performance. I also have the following problems:

1) Ballons saying about different viruses, black trojans, slow system performance etc. If you click on them then you get to purchase a security software
2) "Security toolbar" in IE
3) IE pop-ups very frequently

I have used smitfraud fix in safe mode
I have also downloaded other security programs, one of which found a vundo trojan. I used a vundo trojan remover which found and removed the trojan.
I have also updated and run Norton Antivirus which one of the times found a downloader trojan. According to Norton this is a virus that downloads trojans from the internet!! The solution from Norton was restart in safe mode, scan and then correct the problem. I restarted in safe mode, scanned but
Norton found nothing!!

The ballons and the yellow triangle are still there!!

Please help me. I am one step before formatting the PC. Thanks

I know this has been asked before. The last post gave me direction on how to find out the 'event'. Well I did and when I pulled up the Computer Management screen, the source of it is 'fastfat'. I got one a few hours earlier and it said, 'disk'. The one before that, it said 'tcpip'. Strangely enough, that's when my internet froze up.

I don't know what's going on. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this symbol, better yet the problem? It comes up a few times an hour but then if I click on it, it goes away.

Help. I can find and connect to the wireless network, but it has the yellow triangle. My roommates are on the internet fine on their laptops, so it is clearly an issue with my laptop. My laptop internet works with an Ethernet cable, but I can’t just go through an Ethernet cable all the time.
This is a mystery, hopefully someone can help.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have been attached by Htepo.com (online security guide icons on the desktop) with the yellow triangle with the ! in it. I get the virus war rings and the pop ups.
System is running windows XP.
I have been unable to find the file(s) that keep infecting my computer.
I have tried the installed Norton software and it does not see anything in regular or safe mode. Trend Micro (cwshreder/housecall/sysclean), Mcafee (stinger), smithfraudfix, superantispyware (temporary installed).

It starts up in safe mode so the virus removing application I feel do not see it.

Answer:Annoying Yellow Triangle Alert

Hello there and welcome to BleepingComputer. My name is Charles and I will be dealing with your log today. Please print off a copy of these instructions, and also save them to a Notepad file on your desktop, so they are easily accessible. We are going to boot into Safe Mode later in the fix, and there is no internet access. You are using peer-to-peer programs, specifically BitTorrent. These are what we call an optional removal. However, anytime you are running any type of peer-to-peer application, you are more prone to infection by malware, and this is probably how you became infected in the first place. The choice to remove them is entirely up to you, but I would strongly recommend that you do.If you do not want to, please at least refrain from using any peer-to-peer programs for the remainder of my fix.For more information about infections as a result of p2p programs, take a look here: http://p2p.malwareremoval.com/Scan again with HijackThis and put a checkmark next to each of the following entries (if present): R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\Windows\system32\qiawpbjj.exe,C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exeO2 - BHO: (no name) - {029e02f0-a0e5-4b19-b958-7bf2db29fb13} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name) - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34546} - (no file)O2 - BHO: (no name)... A few weeks ago I posted that I was having Network issues. There would always be a yellow triangle on the Network Icon in the System Tray but it never stopped me from connecting to the internet. Once connected the triangle would go away and everything was OK. Once you reboot the triangle is back, etc, etc...
I thought the "Rename Homegroup" tweak was causing the problem because it seemed to start on the reboot after that. I WAS WRONG!! What I forgot was that I also Enabled NIS 2010 "Privacy Control" before the reboot.
I have just disabled "Privacy Control" rebooted, and everything is now OK.
I tested the theory by Enabling "Privacy Control" reboot back again, Disable, reboot gone again.

Answer:Yellow Triangle on Network Icon
