My explorer window keaps poping up.

Question: My explorer window keaps poping up.

Every time i open IE7, every few minutes a IE7 window pops up and says at the website link: url.cpvfeed.com then a lot of numbers and letters. then it says it could not be displayed.

Preferred Solution: My explorer window keaps poping up.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have an Internet explorer window that keeps poping up out of nowhere and the only thing in the page is a message that is a little different each time. Examples :

sendExternalEvent('EVENT:IEBROWSER:trk.bestmagsdirect.com/a/44/e/84/m/Contextual-RON/');

sendExternalEvent('EVENT:IEBROWSER:69.20.56.3/normal/yyy12.html');

It comes from a site called ad-w-a-r-e.com and is from a different spot on the site each time. Examples :

http://www.ad-w-a-r-e.com/cgi-bin/PopupV2?ID={D9D6B70E-53F7-44BD-9C8A-625A091D7C9F}&AD=Revenue

It appears to be sending out different info each time and every time it does it downloads more spyware to my computer. I have ran the following programs in attempt to get rid of it. I ran these in safe mode as well and with my system restore turned off.
Before I ran my Nortons a 2nd time I went to Trend Micro's Free Online Virus Scan. Then in safe mode I ran my Norton antivirus, then I uninstalled it and installed avast antivirus and ran it. I ran McAfee AVERT Stinger. Then I manually removed my temporary internet files then ran CCleaner. I ran Ad-aware SE with the VX2 cleaner plugin. I ran spybot and CWshredder. I ran Kill2me. I also ran HijackThis!
When I run these programs it comes up witht bargain buddy and all that stuff and then I run the ad-aware and spybot a second time and they are all gone but then this... Read more

There isn't any pattern to it as it flashes for a instance. I don't know what it is and I want to know if there a time stamp on when a program opens in Task Manager? How to capture it?
I see some stuff in Event Viewer which could be it.
DistributedCOM
Event ID: 10016

Answer:I have a window that keeps poping up for a split second

Possibly coincidence, but I've noticed the same recently. I've checked the Task Scheduler but nothing seems to be scheduled for the times it occurs. Though there are a lot of tasks based on triggers, which is hard to go through and work out. Way more scheduled tasks than I expected but they do seem to be system related I think. Event Viewer in my case doesn't show an event at that time.

Answer:Adware in MySystem, Poping up IE window

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Reboot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key until menu shows up. In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click 'Kill process' for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - ... Read more

A jet black window with the title "C:\Windows\system32\DllHost.exe" keeps poping in miniature form (1/5 of my screen). I click on the background and the black window goes away. The 'start bar' can indicate that there are as many as 39 such windows open. Help!

Answer:Black Window Poping Up Continually

This can be either malware, a corruption of Windows, or a misbehaving program. What have you done recently to the system?I'd start with these free, online scans:http://safety.live.comhttp://housecall.trendmicro.comLet us know the results and we can move on from there.

Im always using successfully the msn 6.2 messenger but, suddenly now, when I open it, it shows a window saying that "I have no contacts", after I click it, appears a new one were my on line active contacts are listing, but when I intuitively click accept, it pops out this same window with my active contacts, and it adds in the bottom bar constantly, new windows of the same thing, that I recognize because change its numbers, 38 contact windows and far!
This problem don't let me type inside the msn; that works ¿fine? except for this insistant pop out problem that stops at certain number of repetitions.
when I close those windows in the bottom bar everything about msn closes, even the msn active windows, but still in the active bottom programs bars.
Now i left those windows opened and I can use the msn fine, but they still opened (a large tower of "choose a contact" windows grows when i click on the bottom bar)
If i click one by one to close them they dissapear, but if i click on accept, they show up again!

I have windows xp professional, i unistalled the msn and again the problem appears, the system is asking for the msmsgs.exe file....I dont know what is this file for. I suspect that I opened an unasked e-mail, and i dont know if this have some linkage to this problem, i left norton scanning , and everything well. This dont let me open new applications cause this problem consumes memory. Who can know why this happens?

how can i stop that? it's so annoying

for example:

i'm opening a large excel file. while the file opens, i switch to word to do additional work. when the excel file finshes loading, excel forces the window to the top which interrupts the work i was doing in word.

basically, i don't want anything forcing focus off the window/application that i'm currently accessing. i know there are program languages that allow applications to be brought to the top, but does windows have an override option for that?

thanks!

Answer:Norton Anti virus keep poping out warming window

Follow these instructions carefully

Download ALL 4 programs and update them as soon as they are installed, this is very important, except for Hijackthis!.

Ad Aware SE Personal Free

Spybot Search and Destroy Free

Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware Free

HijackThis Free

Ewido

Follow these steps

Delete the prefetch folder C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch, this folder will come back on next reboot.

Delete all cookies and temporary internet files in the control panel.

Go to Start, run, type msconfig, go to startup, disable everything except your antivirus, click apply, dont reboot yet.

Download Msconfig Cleanup below

Msconfig Cleanup Free

Run Msconfig Cleanup after you unchecked the items you were told to uncheck and recheck, click "Select All", then click "Clean up Selected", then click "Quit".

When each program has finished scanning, remove everything.

For Microsoft Antispy, after it has finished scanning, some items will/might be on ignore, you will need to select remove unless the program is valid such as VNC Viewer, etc.

Now go to the recycle bin and delete everything that is in it.

When finished with the scans, reboot, and go into Safe Mode and run these scans again, remove everything they find, and then reboot back into Windows in normal mode. You dont need to run Hijackthis! yet.

Answer:Internet Explorer Keeps Poping When Useing Mozilla

I use Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.15 and whenever i try to download something after about 2 minutes my internet connection shuts down and then i have to go to the internet box then turn it back off then back on. I have Verizon Fios 5MB/2MB Windows Vista and Actiontec MI424WR with the Verizon Logo on it. I do not get to download anything that takes longer then about 2 minutes except when i load the download into a download manager that has auto resume in it so that when it stops downloading i just turn off the internet box then back on then resume downloading. Please Help. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP TO COME!

If this needs to be moved to the Networking Forum then please move it to the appropriate place thanks.

i couldnt think of how to describe it for the title easily and I am about to go home to maybe tomorrow I will work it out.

My Vista box is currently demonstrating curious behaviour. When I open IE7 I select a favorite and it opens a new window with that favorite in it. If I do a search with my default provider in the original window, the search results appear in a new tab in the second window.

The second window does not display this behaviour. It works normally with my standard settings - open favorites in the current tab.

Again, favorites chosen in the first window continue to appear in the second window. Search results too.

Running IE7 in safe mode stops this behaviour but I have not installed any new software and I have removed all my temporary internet files/addon settings etc.

Any ideas would be great. Funny old game eh

I am basically computer illiterate. My darling Hubby removed some downloaded internet stuff from our computer. ever since I cannot respond to e-mails or games that require me to open a window in a window. I think I'm saying that right. I have called all the support systems I can find and shy of paying a bundle or having the puter wiped clean and reloaded I am drained. When you opena program (for example) Pogo.com (my favorite spot)and you log in pick a game you reach a place that says choose a room. If you click on a room you get a large frame and it does nothing. I'm sure this has something to do with the Java but what I don't know. Help !!! I am a little (well not quite) old(very) lady(?) and I really miss my pogo games.

I was told to also post this iunder this category.

I'm about to tear out my hair. First Windows Explorer keeps stopping, searches for solution then restarts. About the time this problem, I noticed that Windows Explorer will change the original creation date on some of my files. It might be all files in folder or just certain types. I've yet to make a connection with when this is happening or what is causing it. Not necessarily when Windows Explorer stops. It's difficult when you can't tell which is the oldest/newest file in a folder.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, which I keep updated, McAfee, AntiMalware Bytes and SuperAntiSpyware, also all updated.

I'm begging! Can someone help me please?

Thanks,
Lisa

Hi,

The 'click' sound I used to hear is no more when I navigate the window explorer/ internet explorer (IE8).

I done scanning with Malwarebyte, SuperAnti Spyware, AVAST all showing no infection. Had done the Glary Utility and Ccleaner cleaning, still there is no 'click' sound as it used to be.

I found out that the speaker icon next to Start Navigation in Sound And Audio Device Properties is missing. It doesn't show up no matter how I applied a sound for it either on a new scheme or window default scheme.

I have read the thread on http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=142308 and follow instruction on http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthr...n+sound+events, whereby I go to registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER and delete the Default value on the right hand side, then reboot. Issue still not solved.

I noticed that in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ AppEvent \ Scheme \ Apps \ Explorer \ Navigating \ .Default showing on the right with data value = C:\WINDOWS\media\Windows Navigation Start.wav

In the HKEY_USER \ .Default \ AppEvent \ Scheme \ Apps \ Explorer \ Navigating \ .Current and .Default folder both showing on the right with data value = %SystemRoot%\media\Windows XP Start.wav

Are the two registry correct?

Hope you can help me. Thank you.

Regards,

happyfeet

Also, a strange dll. file shows up in MSCONFIG startup programs, if i click for it not to show up on next load up, then a new dll file replaces it... Also, Rundll shows up in task manager. Sometimes twice... with no programs or windows open....

Hi,

Need experts' help here. Thanks in advance.

Whenever i use window explorer (WE) or internet explorer 7 (IE), there is a pause of about 5sec after i execute a command.

For example, when i am using WE, after i double click on a folder, sometimes it will take about 5secs to open the folder.

As for IE, sometimes it takes about 5secs to open IE or whenever i click on a link in the website, it will hang there and take some time before it starts to load the new website.

There is no such problem when using Firefox 3.

When i am in the safe mode, i do not have the hang issue when using WE.

I had scanned with superantispyware, spybot, trend micro officescan and online kasperksy scan. All did not indicate any virus or malware or spyware.

May i know what is wrong with this pc?

Thanks for the help.

Question: Window Explorer

Hi to all. Need your help/opinion on this. Whenever I click my start menu button, the first time after START UP, when I scroll to Settings,Programs, a messege will pop-up on the screen, with a message WINDOW EXPLORER HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO SHUTDOWN. What does this mean? Is this a bad signal? What is the next best thing to do?

Answer:Window Explorer

Explorer is the normal Windows user shell, meaning when you open a program or browse your files you're doing it through explorer. If you look through the application section of the event viewer, you might get more of a clue as to what's causing the problem.

Hi, this thread is 3 days old and maybe you have resolved this issue?

If not can you advise how you are trying to access the NAS box?
Via IP or Name

If you try to ping the IP or Name does it reply?

How to Ping
Click Start >> Type CMD >> Press Enter (or select cmd.exe from the search results)
In the black command window type the following:

Code:
ping <ip address here>

Code:
ping <name here>
Replace <ip address here> with the IP address (example 192.168.1.110)
Replace <name here> with the Name (example nasbox01)

Do you also have Norton A/V on this computer?

I have seen buggy startup behavior if a computer has Norton A/V and Sound Blaster installed, some sort of conflict between the two. You must change the starting order of the two programs. I am sorry I do not remember more specific info, it has been a while since I have had to deal with it, but perhaps a google search will help, or someone else here at BC knows more specific info on this issue. It is a known issue and much has been written about it on the internet.

(This is assuming, of course, that you even have Norton A/V)

This happened one time before and I was actually able to grab it from off screen and pull it back, but can't do it this time. I tried changing resolutions and tried adjustments on my monitor's (Dell) menu, no dice. This is not a problem with other programs (Word, Excel, etc.)

All actions are unavailable.
Window gave me a message: "Contact admin". Why? And how to fix?

My OS: Win7 Ultimate x86

P/s: In the other computers, the USB can work well. And in DOS, it can be seen with Healthy status.

Tks very much for any help.

Answer:USB cannot be available in Window Explorer

Hi nhkhang,

Welcome to SevenForums.

Does your machine belong to the company?

In that case the administrator could have disabled the use of USB devices as per the company policy and you can't do anything about it.

As messaged, you have to contact your computer administrator, if you want it to be enabled. ( But he may not circumvent the company policy.)

Hello,

This issue just started about 2 days ago. I went to open windows explorer and it didn't open, but the folder was highlighted. So I clicked it again and it open very fast and went to the right side of my screen and disappeared. If I move my mouse to the right side of the screen and it disappears off the edge, I can click and drag icons to my desktop. Not for sure what has happened, only way I knew how to fix it before was to do a system restore, but now it happened again.

I am running windows 7 Home 64 bit edition

thank you

Ok, this is nothing major, but after a while, these sort of things will beging to get on your nervers. On boot up, just as the desktop loads, 98 opens an explorer window showing where norton is installed. And if i close the window as the machine is still finshing with the desktop, it will open another one, Extactly the same. I've check the start folder in the start menu, and i'm sure its not on the start up list in system utiltysAny guesse?

Answer:Pop up explorer window at start up

I wouldn't have thought it's a virus or trojan, but have you scanned for viruses? You could try click here for a free scan online.Have you tried re-installing Norton? Programs smetimes pop-up their location on reboot after they've been installed, maybe somthing went wrong and it's not registered that you've booted fort the first time after installing already.Ironman.

If you click on the start button, and then type in Windows Explorer in the text field at the bottom right, Windows Explorer will start. Or if you open the Start menu and click on Computer, then Windows Explorer will also start.

Just wondering if anyone might have an explanation for this:

I set the Windows Explorer window sized to show the contents of a folder in list view and 25 items shown in a column. Yet for some folders, I have noticed that more then 25 items have been displayed in a column yet the size of the window has not changed.

for instance I have a folder that contains 130 items and it displays 5 even columns with 26 items in each column when it should be displaying a total of 6 columns, with the last column having 5 items in it. Without changing the size of the window, I view another folder that has 107 items, it displays 5 columns, 4 having 25 items, and the last column having 7 items.

Answer:query about win Explorer window

Can you post screen captures of both conditions so we can see what you are talking about?

Hey guys,
Like in Windows 8 and 8.1, I experience an ugly bug or something in scaling windows in Windows 10 . In upscaling, via fullscreen button/ double click on title bar/ upscaling fast via mouse, there appears n ugly big black (sometimes blue) rectangular. Does anyone have the same issues? It would be nice if someone would have an explanation for this issue.
By the way, Windows 10 looks awesome! :)
Thank you very much!

Hello All,

Several months back I had to replace my hard drive because it was failing. I copied the drive contents to a new drive and kept working as usual. I do my best to run Spybot S&D and Malwarebytes periodically to clean my pc when I feel necessary. So far with the help of McAfee and said programs I've been ok, however over the past week or two I've noticed the Windows Explorer window does not look normal at all. The File menu drop-down bar is excessively large while the explorer window below is very small and a pain now to search for files and folders (See attachment below). Also it should be noted that I've attempted 2 different System Restore dates that were both unsuccessful, one was a recent date while the other was as far back as I could go. I've updated my spyware programs and performed full scans with both but it finds nothing. I can not make heads or tails of the HJT report and I'm requesting help from anyone here that might be knowledgable about this issue. See report below:

Hello,

I have followed the instructions regarding spyware removal in the 'READ ME FIRST' post and 99% of the problems have been resolved. However, I have a few remaining issues, and I think they are all tied to one problem. When I open 'My Computer', 'Control Panel', 'Search', etc, I get a window that appears in the center of my screen first with the title "Error" and the word 'Explorer!' in the window. There is a close button on the title bar and an 'OK' button in the window. If I close the window with either, it goes away and the desired object appears (My Computer, Control Panel, etc.). This does not happen in Safe Mode. Turning off everything using MSConfig does not change this behaviour in regular mode. I believe my explorer.exe is hooked, but I don't know how to verify that nor how to fix it if it is. If anyone could please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Troy K.

Answer:Error -- Explorer! Window

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99.1 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an ATTACHMENT.
All instructions are covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a Hijack This log as an ATTACHMENT to your message (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post). Please close unnecessary running programs before you run HijackThis. You must close each of the following: your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc.

DO NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

Do you know how/where I can update them or if I can download them from the net.

Many thanks for help!

Answer:Explorer New Target Window

Hi Aussie Trace. From Austrailia? Welcome to TSG.

What I'd do is to either reinstall Windows with the provided CD (Try this first)... Or re-download IE 6 and NT4. (I would get the latest NT avalible)

To reinstall with the CD... just start windows and put in Windows CD. When the CD window comes up... select "Install Windows".

Not to worry... everything you have on your computer will be there when finished.

I have an HP Pavilion that came with Vista. About two months ago I upgraded it to Windows 7. It has NEVER performed since without random freezes and lock ups. I have also installed Explorer 8 and automatically install updates to both. A couple of weeks ago I started to get an error with Explorer 8 which might be related to windows live mail but not sure. I get the following Problem Report Detail whenever it happens. Dose anyone have a recommendation about how to fix it?

Answer:Window 7 and Explorer 8 Problem

Welcome

Are you using the term upgrade correctly. Did you upgrade with an upgrade DVD or do a clean install with the upgrade DVD? The answer will have a big impact on the advice that you will be given. If you reinstalled all or your programs it was a clean install.

My OS is Win 2000 W/ service pack 3.

Recently upgraded to IE 6, then service pack 1. Since then when I click on a link that opens a new window, the window will open but nothing will load. If I manually tell it to "open in a new window", same thing. Doesn't matter what site I visit.

Already tried unloading and reloading IE6. Any advice.

Also, for some strange reason, the password in dial up is incorrect and I cant seem to get it off. I can manually correct it to connect, but I cant get it to go bye-bye.

Any clues??

Answer:Explorer 6 Not Launching in New Window

My dialup password is 6 characters long but w2k shows it as 16 long. I guess it's a security thing. Have you tried connecting with the "wrong" password?

Hi,

please help me with Windows 7 Explorer: is there any solution to make Explorer automatically switch to the right frame (pane) on moving and rolling the mouse roller over it. (By selecting a directory in the left frame and moving to the right, by scrolling, the left frame remains active and rolles down instead of automatically switching to the right and do rolling there).

Thnx,

DP

Answer:Explorer window frames

Folder Options > Single click to open

If you hover (briefly) over any file in the right pane it is selected so making the right pane active and scrollable. I haven't double clicked in years and this is only one of the many advantages!

Hi
The problem is I have XP os. Month old computer
I am having problem with Window Explorer, when I try to view pictures that are already loaded on the computer and were already viewed at on time or another. I get some folders that will not have thumbnail photos on the outside of the folder like others, but they did at one time. I get a DEP
(Data Execution Prevention) error saying that window explorer has encountered a problem and will close, the program closes and I return to the desktop background.
I have tried tech support they said to reformat, they said it sounds like a corrupt software. before I do this system restore does anyone have any info on this problem, if so I would appreciate the help.

Thankyou Airdale

When opening a new IE window it is very very wide - WHY?
Its top bar (with login address) is 1.5 cm wide - WHY?
If , in moving a window, it's edge nears the top edge of the screen, it suddenly becomes full screen - WHY?
If I try to tuck a window partly out of site to one side, it suddenly becomes half-screen - WHY

All these behaviourisms are unwelcome an annoying to me.

is there a way of customising IE to controll all new windows?

Answer:Internet Explorer new window

It sounds to me like what you're seeing is a feature of the Windows 7 Aero interface, called Snap.

You can disable it-

1. Go to Start -> type Snap into the search box
2. Click Turn Off Automatic Window Arrangement
3. Select Make the Mouse Easier to Use
4. Select Prevent Windows from Being Automatically Arranged when Moved to the Edge of the Screen
5. Click OK

Answer:Problem with Window Explorer

I had a similar problem after I had created a shortcut to Windows Explorer after I had upgraded my system from Win98SE to WinXP Pro SP2. It only seemed natural to create the shortcut being more familiar with Windows Explorer under Win98SE, but I knew nothing about Data Execution Prevention.

Here is what I did to resolve my problem as a stopgap measure:

Start->Control Panel->System->Advanced tab->Performance Settings button brings up Performance Options

Click on Data Execution Prevention
Toggle radio button: Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select

Click on Add button and Browse for Windows Explorer and add it to exceptions, then click on Apply and then Ok

I never now use Windows Explorer directly by double-clicking on it or a shortcut icon to it.

I use the Start->My Computer->Local Disk (C) instead.

Hope this helps,

-- Tom

If I click on a link that opens a new window (either by JavaScript or target=_blank), the new window will take 3-5 seconds to build, but if I shift-click a link or right-click and choose Open in New Window, it comes up right away. It's as if the browser is waiting for content before it shows the new window, and on top of that, makes it so I really can't do anything else in IE. Makes pop-unders especially annoying. This is on XP Home, IE6. I have IE6 on ME and it does not exhibit this behavior.
This is actually just a cut and paste from someone else's description but it's the same problem for me. His problem didn't have a solution and I was hoping there was a little bit of help here in these forums. Any help is really appreciated.

I searched and couldn't find anything, so please don't just say "Try a search button or use google." If there are other threads on this topic, please tell me what to search for to find them or provide a link. I feel like I tried everything.

Thanks.

Answer:Slow new explorer window on XP

When you say 3 to 5 seconds, do you mean all instances of the browser locks up and you can't even use the originating window?

One thing I would suggest is to download and run adaware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Some spyware type programs can cause browser slowdowns and just general browser problems.
Also, I would get a pop-up stopper for unwanted pop-unders and pop-up advertisements. Here is the one my wife uses on her computer http://www.free.surfer.tc/mail. It seems to work very well and it was free. (I don't really use IE very much anymore, I use Mozilla and Opera personally)

Odd one. Had a virus on a customer's computer. Found it, cleaned it, no problem. Now when I go to My Computer and double click a drive nothing happens. I can't right click or left click, but if I highlight the drive and then go: File, Open.... it opens to display the folders on the drive. And to open a folder, I must do the same thing. Same goes for the Control Panel. I must highlight an icon (Display, System, Users, etc.) and then go File..Open to get the app open. If I boot up in Safe Mode, everything works fine. It's like I can't browse locally. If I double click an icon on the Desktop everything works fine. Damn thing is driving me crazy. Also ran a repair with the Windows 2000 disk. No help.

Whenever I have a popup and I close it, Windows Explorer screen comes up saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close. If I click it everything closes down. This can also happen whenever I bring up a second page or even immediately on opening the internet. It's happening so often now that we can hardly get anything done because it's always kicking us off. Any ideas on what's going on?

Guard pages for the stack are typically used to detect when more memory should be allocated for the stack. Usually temporary variables that only live during the run of a function are created on the stack.

Have you rebooted the machine since this error? If not I would reboot and see what happens.
Otherwise I would try is a restore point if you have one available.

Hi,

I have just reinstalled windows, and now every time I open a new internet explorer window, it is tiny and I have to manually enlarge it.

Is there any way to make sure that all the new windows open maximised?

Thanks.

Answer:Explorer Window size.

Right click any URL and select Open in a New Window.
Go back to the first IE6 window you opened and close it.
Return to the second window and manually drag it to fill the screen.
(Do not use the maximize button)
Close this second window, using the close box.
All IE6 windows should now open maximized.

If I right click the left panel, to add something to a folder on another drive or move it to another drive, explorer crash. If I do it in the right panel no issues. This was before I rebuilt the system.

I just did a 4th reinstall on a new 2T drive since day one 10 days ago and now I can't do any moving of files or folder in any panel without crashing. I can send from x folder/drive to a drive, but not to the folder I want.

Using my lap top with win 7, started to experience the first win 8.1 issue and it has a strip down of programs on it.

I have now upgraded the laptop to win 10, and now getting the 2nd win 8.1 totally crash.

Have ran various programs to check the issues even to repair the system with no luck.

The other thing I have noticed since using Win 8.1, have lost 4 drives from 2T to 4T that were less than a year old.

I have also have to do CHKDSK of drives monthly as the file structure has come corrupted considering some of the drives are backup that have seen not new data added to them. It looks like I have a few more drives that may need replacing and will do the full check on them once the replacement drives arrive on Monday that had to be replace. What is also odd, I found CHKDSK found folders on drives only if I am using FTP on them, as they don't show up as non hidden files. I have see found CK folders on other other drives, but not the 4T th... Read more

Ever since I bought my Dell (last December) the Explorer window seems to get all the info on the page (width wise) so I don't ever have to scroll right to left. Its nice but everything seems compressed, pictures and text. On some web pages there is a white bar on the right side, no info.
Is there a setting in explorer that allows me to change to normal view or is there something wrong?
I'm running windows XP with Explorer 6 and all the current updates.

Thanks!

Answer:Window size with Explorer 6

You should be able to fix that in "View" then text size, on the browser

I'm using this to-do list/reminder(doomi) and sometimes pop up reminders come up to remind me to do things, this pop up is supposed to pop up above all the other windows, but it doesn't do that...it "pops up" but stays behind all the other windows making it kinda useless.

This also happens on steam, when I first start it up and the "update news" pops up, it also stays in the background. So I'm assuming this happens to pop ups in general in windows 7. Is there a way to fix this?

Answer:Pop ups not poping up right...

I followed all the instructions as per <http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407> and still having the issue.
I ran BitDefender, TrojanScan, Ccleaner, Ad-Adware SE, Spybot, Microsoft AntiSpyware and Mcafee AVERT Stinger but still have same issue.

I can see Web Nexus Network installed in Add/Remove Programmes when I try to uninstall they send me to their website and ask to download some exe to UnInstall. I don't want to take chances.

I'm attaching the HijackThis log with this message as per your instructions. I have logs from other spayware if you need them.

Please let me know.

Answer:Ads Poping Up

You might have either a PROGRAM or a VIRUS installed on your computer that could be causing the parasite infection in your system.

Please try the instructions below, they might help you fixing your problem and the information below will give you directions to find the cause of the parasite infection.

Please MAKE SURE you have an updated anti-virus software running and re-scan your system.
Do you have any program that you do not use or that you cannot identify or freeware, shareware, or file-sharing programs (example: Screensavers Programs, Search Bars, Kazaa, Limewire, Morpheus, iMesh, etc.)? Most freeware, shareware, Free Screensavers, Search Bars and file-sharing programs have spyware built into their programs. One of the reasons you may still be getting popups is because you have these programs and need to uninstall/remove these programs from your computer.

It is also a must to clean up your browser every time after removing parasites using anti-spyware program from the recommended anti-spyware list.

To Clean up you browser, if you use Internet Explorer, click the tools menu, and then click the internet options menu item. Change the homepage to whatever you want the default page to be (ie www.google.com). Click delete cookies, delete [cache] files, and delete history. Click apply. You may also want to increase the security settings on your browser to block potential spyware and adware as you browse the internet. Click the Security tab, and customize the setti... Read more
