Please Help.... Blue Screen Wont Allow Me To Turn Off Computer

Question: Please Help.... Blue Screen Wont Allow Me To Turn Off Computer

I have an ACER Extensa 2300 and have had no problems with it so far but in the last week or so it has been playing up. Everytime i go to search engine and do a search and when the results show and i click on a result i get redirected to Yahabags and some other websites. Another problem is when i try and turn the computer off, just as it is going to shutdown I get the blue screen of death and the computer restarts, the only way i can turn the computer off is by pushing the on button until it shutsdown. Please help i have assignments and important work for my essay etc. Any help would be great.
Sorry but one more thing when i log on and windows has just started it says\

Preferred Solution: Please Help.... Blue Screen Wont Allow Me To Turn Off Computer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Every time I turn on my computer a blue screen appears saying all these error stuff! which gave an error code of wording of USB BUGCODE

What can I do get rid of it? Cause I need to use that computer as there are some files on it I need to access. But I cannot even do anything with the pc because every time I turn it on a blue screen appears.
Any help would be appreciated

Answer:help Keep getting blue screen when I turn computer on

ok, first that error code should have a bunch of numbers. Those numbers are important for looking up the actual cause of the error. USB BUGCODE seems, and I'm not sure of this, seems to indicate a possible error with a usb port or device. Do you have any usb devices plugged in when you try to boot up? You might try unplugging any one at a time for each boot up. Without the numbers I can only guess that a usb port has a problem. Hope this helps.

My desktop keeps showing blue screens. Yesterday I was able to start it up and tried to restore to a previous point, but it wouldn't complete and gave a blue screen. Now I can't turn the computer on without a blue screen displaying. I've pulled out the old laptop to post this. So far I've copied down the info for three of them. They are as follows:

The first one I saw:
0x000000051 (0x0000000D, 0x00000001, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
Another blue screen displayed:
0x000000024 (0x00190203, 0x864401A8, 0x00000102, 0x00000000)
And the last one I saw:
0x000000024 (0x00190203, 0x86D79168, 0x00000102, 0x00000000)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Answer:Blue screen everytime I turn on computer

Your STOP 24 error...indicates a problem with either a key system file, your partition/file structure, or your hard drive.

See 24 in left column at .

The Stop 51 error is somewhat ambiguous, but...since part of the error message indicates a registry problem, I would believe that.

System mamufacturer and model?

hi friends :when I turn on computer a blue screen appears!! why??? what should I do?

Answer:when I turn on computer a blue screen appears!!

Lets see if Safe Mode works:
Booting into Safe Mode Win 8/10
1. Start your computer
2. When it starts booting, force shut-down
Keep doing this until you see this screen

Now, let it finish, and if it says it is unable to repair your computer, like this:

Click Advanced Options > Start-Up Settings > Restart
When this screen comes up, press f5 to go to Safe Mode

Let us know if you can go to Safe Mode without any problems

when I try to load my computer, the computer loads but the monitor does not. I end up having to do a hard shut down and reload the computer then it usually works fine. I have tried a new cable and monitor but it does not fix the problem. I have checked the graphics card and it says it is working properly. I have run windows troubleshooter to check for errors but none are found. What could be causing this. I am running windows 10 but it was a windows 7 originally, the problem has been happening for a couple months now and i upgraded when windows 10 first came out so I don't think the upgrade is the problem either.

When I tried to trouble shoot from BIOS I got error code:80004001. It said the boot disk is missing or contains errors. Need recovery tools. It also said if you don't have installation media contact pc/device manufacturer. My computer did not come with any disks or media.

Hello, Im new to forums so please bare with me.
My problem started when i dropped my cellphone on my Envy m6 1160la. The screen froze and i started hearing a feint beeping sound. I left it like that for a while, since i could turn the leds on and off. After it failed to work again i turned it off only to turn it back on and be greeted with the same feint beeping sound and no hp logo or loading. After a while the phrase "Checking media" "fail" would come up twice and then a blue box that would say something and then turn off my computer. I changed the HDD and the beeping stopped but the same thing happened. I turned off secure mode but then it said i needed to install an OS and something about 3fo hardrive. I then tested both hardrives and the one that gives me a beeping sound approves the memory test but fails the dst short and long and the smart (dont know what this is), and the one without the beeping approves all. Now after all this I came ro the conclusion that me HDD was bad and that i had to install a new OS on another one (dont know if i was right) but since the HDD that wasnt beeping ran on win 7, I thought if i changed to legacy i would be able to boot up my computer. After i changed it it restarted and i could hear the HDD spinning and the fan and leds would turn on but the screen wouldnt and wont. Any help on my current and previous problem would be much appreciated.

Answer:My computer screen wont turn on after changing BIOS

Likely not completing POST. Clear the CMOS (which will change the BIOS back to default), and try booting again.

First time posting, and not very educated when it comes to computers so bear with me. My screen cracked today on my T430. It still had image on the screen but very distorted. I have a working backup T430. I pulled the screen out of the back up and put in my main comp. My main will boot up (you can even hear the windows jingle but the screen had no power. I then tested both the good screen and cracked screen on the backup T430 and both lit up fine. But neither screen will work on the main T430. i then switched the cable that goes from the motherboard to screen but still same situation, works fine on the back up but not main. I hooked it up to my TV through the HDMI cable and I get the display/homescreen on the TV, and I can use the laptop like that. One thing I did notice is that when I boot the laptop up or shut it down there is a very very very slight change in the screen darkeness. I only notice this because the sun was behind me and shining on the screen. When I noticed this it had the craked screen installed. I tried to adjust the screen brightness with the laptop running but it didnt change anything Do you guys/gurls have any input or solutions? Thanks in advanced

My computer wont boot up. When I try to start it, I always get the blue screen of death. It does this whether I let it start normally, in safe mode, with the last known good settings or whatever. I also tried booting from the XP CD-Rom, but that had the same results. The error message on the blue screen I am getting says Page_Fault_in_Nonpaged_area and that the problems seems to be caused by NDIS.sys. Under technical info, it says my stop code is 0x00000050 (0x87000000, 0x00000000, 0xF722C9BD, 0x00000000). It also says NDIS.sys - Address F722C9BD base at F722C000, datestamp 4b72911a. Ive look around at a few web sites, and they said to check the RAM (physically) and it looks ok to me. I can get into the F2 and F12 screens when the computer first powers up, and the F2 screen recognizes my RAM, so I guess thats ok. I think the problem is software related though. THe last time it was working, I turned off the power switch because it looked like I was getting attacked by viruses (lots of popup, my programs running slower, stuff like that and I think my computer was reporting it had trapped a few trojans that were trying cause problems). I would have liked to go in and use system restore, but I cant even get to the point where that's an option (in WIndows - is there another way?) What should I do, how do I fix this? I have XP, Service Pack 2 or higher (not sure). Thanks!

Answer:Computer wont boot - blue screen

What did you do when you checked the RAM? You need to unclip and remove the RAM chips and then reinsert them, making sure they lock into place. Give them a little rocking movement to make sure they are properly seated. If that doesn't solve the problem then it MAY be a corrupt XP file. In that case boot from your XP CD and do a repair install.

I am operating on Windows XP and my AVG free antivirus is saying that a trojan is infecting the following: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\agp440.sys I have scanned this file with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and the scan says there is no virus present in that file. Lately my computer has been going to a blue screen with white writing for no reason lately saying that there is either a problem with some newly installed software ( i haven't installed any new software i dont think) or a driver or something. This blue screen has been comeing more and more often and right now i am operating my computer in safe mode with networking in order to have the time to write this before my computer would divert to that screen. First i used system restore (about two weeks ago) to a point in time two weeks before the time at which i was using system restore (about a month ago?). however the blue screen came back and started to come more frequently. Recently i resotred my computer to a date 2 months before today and i still have this blue screen (which started showing up about a month ago). Is there anyway you could help me with this???

I have WinXP Pro
I was online , surfing,, doing normal activities..veiwing webpages.

and the whole screen froze, when I tried CTRL+ALT+DELETE
to access task manager, nothign came up, and then..
it said something about a kernel error and a memory dump.
I turned it off (at the power bar, my computer has no on/off switch)
Then when it restarted, it loaded up Windows, and I deleted everything I had recently downloaded and/or installed, including a couple small DOS games (arkanoid and another) that i got from , and one MP3 I had just gotten off some new band's website...

then i tried to defragment, and about 45 seconds into it,...
and now I cant get it to load windows, and my CD drives not working, so I cant put XP boot dsic in..and dont have any boot disk on floppy.

It keeps saying drive not ready.

Im posting this from a friends computer, cuz I cant get mine to do anything, I hit f1 and loaded the setup defaults, no help..

what to do?? help?? ;(

It won't even boot up in Safe mode, looks like he may have a virus of some description.

After selecting safe mode, the screen goes blue and gives an error message:

*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78A2524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

Any suggestions how I can fix this????

Answer:Computer wont start, Blue screen STOP:0x0000007B

FWIW: 7B errors often occur when users have tried to either clean install or repair install Windows, IMO. So the error in itself is not necessarily significant. Some details about what occurred with the system before the cry for help by your son...would be of greater benefit than focusing on that error message, IMO.You might gain by reading STOP 7B Errors .You might also take a look at 7B, left column at , to see the complexity involved in trying to determine cause of that particular error.Louis

Im posting this from a friends computer, cuz I cant get mine to do anything, I hit f1 and loaded the setup defaults, no help..

what to do?? help?? ;(

Computer wont start up, after the windows loading screen there is a blue screen that flashes for a second then the computer just restarts.
Cannot go into any of the safe modes either or last known configuration same thing happens.
Have run recovery console and did a chkdsk /p, no probloems there so I figure it must be a virus or something?

Would greatly appreciate assistance

Hi, just a quick question-My 11 month old medion akoya laptop will shortly be sent back to medion under warrantee because it wont turn on. The battery has been really poor for the last 6 months so i have just used mains power all the time. Two days ago it stopped turning when i pressed the power button. There is, however, a blue light on the very front of the laptop which has a very small icon next to it that looks like a battery with a lightening strike next to it...although i cant be sure as it is so small. My question is is there anything i could try please?Im just scared that Medion will just do what i've heard a lot of laptop companies do and start with wiping the HD, i really really dont want that!!

Answer:Medion wont turn on-but there is a blue light?

I would say yes it's a fair bet they could wipe clean the harddrive, (and also have a look at what you have on there - do you really want to have to worry about that?)I would suggest you take HDD out and copy all contents - maybe make a backup copy of your 'My Documents' and also make a full drive Acronis Image or similar. Then delete all your personal stuff including email, addresses, surfing history etc. and don't forget to empty the Recycle bin and all Temp folders. If you get a USB TO SATA IDE CABLE / ADAPTER like this one from Amazon click here you can hook up the laptops HDD to another pc via USB and sort the contents out.

Try first forcing a power down by pressing and holding the power button for several seconds, then wait a bit and turn it back on. That will often fix a 'stuck' sleep.

So do you have a question here? You have already identified your problem. Either the RAM stick is bad or the RAM slot is bad. Here's a suggestion. When you remove the suspect stick, take the other good stick and put it in the bad stick's slot.If it boots up you know the "bad" stick is bad. if it doesn't then remove it and put the "bad" stick in the good slot. If it boots you know the slot is bad and you need a new motherboard. Clear as mud?Goin' Fishin' (Some day)

Yes my video card is PCI and was tested on another computer.
Yes the screen was also tested with other systems and the cable, and they both work.
It is a P2B Asus Motherboard running on a 350mhz Pentium II 100mhz, 3 sticks of 128mb sdram pc-100. 250w working powersupply.

Screen just doesnt want to turn on with the system.

Answer:Screen wont turn on.

When the screen remains blank either something is loose or needs to be replaced. Any history or did this just happen one day when you turned the system on? Since you have 3 sticks of RAM have you tried one at a time.

Answer:computer wont turn on at all!! wont do anything

Computer won't start troubleshooting suggestions

Try each one in this general order until problem is fixed:
1) check all your connections including your memory, power connectors, cards, fans and ensure the 4-pin connector for your CPU is installed if your system requires it. If you have removed your memory, make sure it is the correct slot(s). Not all slots work. I don't know if this will prevent the computer from trying to boot. At any rate, every motherboard manual details exactly how RAM should be installed for that particular board. If problem persists:
2) test the power connection with a lamp
3) make sure your on/off switch (if you have one) on your power supply is ON
4) remove the cables from ALL drives and restart
5) also remove unnecessary cards and non-cpu fans
6) Borrow a power supply (sufficient power and appropriate 20 or 24-pin connection)

I've seen this happen when a connector is improperly placed. The motherboard and/or power supply can detect an inappropriate power surge and not even start.
Some people have accidentally joined power connectors to each other, usually when hooking up system fans.

Your system can turn on and start booting to the BIOS with only the motherboard, a power supply and I assume some RAM (though I'm not positive the RAM is requied). It does not even need the monitor, although you obviously won't see what is happening but you will hear the power supply start. In general, with such a fault if the... Read more

If you can use an external monitor to connect to it, see if that produces anything. If the external monitor doesn't work then it is a video card problem. If the external monitor works, then the laptop's LCD screen is dead. Either way, you need repairs done to it. That's one of the reason I don't use laptops, everything is in one piece, when one thing fails, you have to send the whole thing to the repair shop, whereas with a desktop, you can swap parts yourself.

Ok this is kind of weird. Ive recently installed a game and while playing I miss typed some keys (which are near the region of ESC, including that one, the one next to 1, and a sleep button). Somehow, a combination of miss typed keys lock my computer. It stops, then the screen goes black, and the CPU light starts to blink and the fan runs likes crazy.

Then nothing..., i cant turn the CPU off, cant restart it, cant press any key to do anything. The computer just wont turn off. The only way to restart the system is to pull the plug, but that has caused my some trouble already.

It has been happening to me sometimes (i think around four or five times) and i need to know what is happening to my computer and how to solve the problem without pulling the plug if this comes to happen again.

Thank you very much for the help (and sorry for my bad english)

Answer:htc 8x won't turn on (error message, blue screen)

A different version of the same error has occurred to my L1020 more than a month ago. Unfortunately, it seems that not even a software recovery program can fix the problem since the phone won't even be recognized by the computer... and that there seems to be no publicly available software recovery program for HTC phones in the first place. My advice would be to have it diagnosed in an accredited service center.

Hello all,

I'm having trouble with my laptop. I have a 5 year old Toshiba Satellite. Last week when I had it on, the screen suddenly went off but the music I had on was still playing, I managed to get it on a few minutes later, but it then went pink and green like when you press your finger on an LCD screen.

Today I had it on, was working fine. Left it unattended, came back and the screen was a dark blue colour. I've tried turning it off, taking battery out, charger out, holding the start button for 30/60 seconds with battery out etc but nothing. I also forgot to mention that earlier this evening and the past few nights, it's taken a lot of jiggling to get my charger to be recognised on the laptop.

Does anyone know of the problem or even better, a solution? Won't show up when HDMI is plugged in on TV either.

Thanks in advance

Answer:My dell laptop Screen wont turn on

Sounds like the graphics processor on your laptop is on the way out, if even an external monitor didn't work.

Does BIOS work? F12/DELETE when booting up to get in.

sorry if this isn't in the right section seeing as how i don't really know if its a software or hardware problem but my aunt brought me her laptop and tells me to fix it. i turn it on and the lights on the keyboard come one and everything but the screen just stays completely black (it doesn't turn on) i tried plugging in only the charger to see if it was the battery but no, the screen just wont turn on so i cant even get into the bios or look at the POST. i don't THINK i hear anything spinning or anything, either that or it could just be really quiet. anyways i was wondering if theirs anything you could do to help? btw its an hp pavilion dv6000.

And as always your help is greatly appreciated.

My screen just doesnt turn on. I can hear everything fine but the screen is just black. I tried the "press power button for 30 seconds" trick but it didnt work.Heres everything that happened since 2 days ago,-laptop was on for more than 24 hours(plugged in with battery attached)-turned off my laptop a few hours ago and opened the bottom compartment to take out my ram stick. I took a picture and put it back.-saw that the fan was dirty so i wiped off the dust. After that i closed it back up.-turned it on after 4 hours and here i am asking for helpThank you!!!   EDIT: I took out my ram and wiped the gold part with an eraser and now my laptop turned back on. Was this a coincidence? if not can anyone tell me why it worked?

Answer:Lenovo G480 screen wont turn on

hi vitrinithepooh,
It's possible that the RAM stick is not properly making contacts with the memory slot (which is usually caused by dirt) and removing those debris made a solid contact to the motherboard. (i've also tried this method and it works like a charm).
Alternatively, you can also use Q-Tips dipped with 70% rubbing alcohol to clean the gold contacts.
In addition, you may also want to run a memory test on the RAM to verify its reliability.

Hello! I have had this notebook for a little over a year now. One day I turned it off after normal use, came back to turn it on and it turned on but the screen wouldn't turn on. Not that it black screened or anything, but it physically didn't turn on. The notebook itself would turn on though because the lights would turn on, fans would turn on etc. I connected it to an HDMI to another monitor and the second monitor turned on no problem, I'm just having trouble with the main laptop display turning on. Please Help, Andre

Just recently, within the last couple days, my screen saver has decided not to work. It has always worked without any problem before, and im not sure why it decided to stop.

I've checked everything that i know with my knowledge, but it seems fine.

A couple possibilities are that when i did a google search on this problem, i found a post saying something about editing the screen saver file in C:\WINDOWS, but i notice that i dont have that file.

I dont know if the file was always never there, or maybe it was deleted somehow.

Another possibility is that there is a program running in the background, but i dont think that is the case because its the same programs running when it worked before.

Thanks in Advance

Answer:Screen Saver wont turn on anymore

Well it might be a dumb suggestion, but if you don't have the "screensaver file" (whatever THAT is) where it's supposed to be, maybe that's why it's not working.

So then MAKE one, maybe.

Post a link to the site that talks about the screensaver file and maybe we can make you one to fix it. Or something.

Have you gone to the XP setting from Desktop>Properties ? It has a timer on it so it starts after a certain amount of inactivity. Did this change ?

Can you do the "Preview" ?

Have you tried connecting an external monitor (how to is in your manual)?

It may well be a component failure like an inverter board since you 'crashed' when it first happened.

I have a Dell xps 13 (2015 edition). I have owned it for just over a year (warranty has just ran out}.  I was doing some light Internet browsing, as I always do, before bed and then shut the lid. The next day when I opened the laptop the screen did not come on, so I held the power button until it shut down, and then tried to power on. On came the power button, but nothing happened on the screen except for  slight flicker. No Dell logo. I searched online and found a comment saying 'hold D and press power on to check the monitor is okay'. Well this works perfectly, bringing up a display of different colours. However, holding fn+power key does nothing. I have searched online and tried the removing battery trick, however this has not solved the problem either. I am quite angry about this - it looks like quite a few people have had this happen just after their warranty has run out, and I am reluctant to pay to fix what blatantly appears to be a problem with Dell. I have left the laptop on to completely run down the battery and will try again later, but any help would be desperately appreciated.

Ill hope one more time. The resolution looks to be back to normal. When I turn it on it goes through the normal load screens but then just black. I changed the monitor resolution up but not even all the way to optimum. Any help would be nice THX in advance.

Answer:wont turn on past XP load screen

hello jscar,

now this sounds like driver issue

what i want you to do is when you start your system (push the start button ) start tapping the (F8) key

now your system should bring up a screan that says

safemode with network
safemode with command prompt

this first time we co here i want you to select (safemode) / your system should start !! it will be running with generic drivers so everything may look all distorted (suppose to )

if your system dose load thenyou will have a few questions ( just say yes )

now what i need to do is go to your (device manager)

now once there you will want to select from the toolbar of the window(veiw) then a drop down menu / from it you will select (show all hidden devices)

now if you see any (red or yellow) quotation marks , make a note of what they

now go to the (event veiwer) this is thru the (administrator tools) in the control panel
here you will find 3 to 4 subcatagories

you will want to check each of them for this is where windows keeps track of all errors
now you will want to make notes of the errors that have been recorded ( you do not have to make notes of double entries just of the dates of their happenings & how many there is)
you will get more information on the errors if you (right) click them / then select properties

then get back to us

But when i restarted the computer it still did the same thing it wont boot, i changed the bios to boot from the Hard Drive but nothing happens.

Can anyone help?

Answer:Computer Wont Turn On

How far does it go? What do you see before it fails?

If it boots ok from disc, but not from hard drive, that suggests to me that it is a hard drive or mobo problem, reset CMOS? Might help, im just guessing here.

It might be the power supply, since Omni is an unknown brand, without any history behind it.

What do you think my problem is?

Answer:Computer wont turn on HELP!!!

worst case scenario fried mobo, I would try the following:

1.Make sure all connections are secure and none are loose maybe the plug itself is hanging out etc.

2.try a different power cord might just be damaged now. And check the power connector pins in your PSU are ok.

3.use a different PSU from a friend or other pc you may have.

4.Check inside the pc to make sure the power switch button pin connector hasn't been knocked off.

First off the power supply is brand new and the only way it turns on is when I hook it up to a tester. The power supply works perfect. I did the bench test and still nothing happens. Every now and then when I push the power button the exhaust fan will start to spin for a split second and even more rare, the heatsink fan will start to spin for a split second. The motherboard is also new and the cpu and heatsink is also new. Ive tryed booting up with only the motherboard and processor (and heatsink) hooked up, still nothing happened. So I guess the only possiblities are a faulty motherboard, CPU, or maybe the RAM stick? Since the cpu and motherboard are new i'm thinking about returning both of them. I would feel much better though if there was a way to figure out which one of these components is bad though. Thanks for the help.

Answer:Computer wont turn on

Just try Process of elimination first, That can tell you the problem about 75% maybe More of the time.
So try different memory stick and processor, MAKE sure all fans and the heat sink is on properly.

Ok ill start from the beggining. My computer has always beeped randomly when I turned it on. Sometimes it would be very fast and beep 20 times, sometimes it would be slow and beep under 10 and sometimes not at all. I assume it was trying to tell me something is wrong. So I decided to buy an extra 1 gig of ram and a sata 250gig HDD. I put the 1 gig of ram in and everything works fine but when I pluged my HDD in my computer wouldnt boot because it wouldnt read my IDE HDD. So I open my PC, unplug alot of things and replug them back in. I plug my powercord into the powersupply and see this flash from the back of my PC. And now my PC wont even turn on.

Also a note when replugging everything back in I decided to plug the temp-readers the PC case came with onto the front of my GPU and my HDD. I doubt it would cause this but just in case I figured I would mention it.

So I'm guessing

A) My case died
B) My PSU died
C) My mobo died

How do I figure out what happened?

My mobo

Answer:Computer wont turn on. HELP!

Well I think, you made, however a short-circuit, which destroyed your hardware, first I would say it is your mainboard,
as I had kind of that problem, too, my PSU broke and destroyed the mainboard with it...

Just ask a friend if he can lend you some hardware, then you can look for the broken piece of hardware by trial and error...

my computer wont turn on after i think too many viruses due to adult videos.

is there any way i can fix this without getting my parents involved ?????

Answer:Computer Wont Turn On

Oh boy! How far will it get before it shuts down? If it won't come on at all it's not a software but a hardware issue. If it's a hardware issue check the power cord at the case and at the wall. Sounds simple but a lot of the time the simple answer is the right answer. Also the switch on the power strip.

My computer specs are:
Intel Pentium4 660 Hyper Threading 3.6
Gigabyte LGA775
G5 looking Case with Enermax Noisetaker 485w ATX12v v.2.0
1GB ddr2 Dual channel
XFX Geforce 7600GT
2 Dvd drives
Zalman Heatsink/Fan
2 80 mm Fans

A week ago I added a 120mm fan to the outside of this case(on the side) screwed it to the bottom vent, the fan is pluged to a 4pin cord. I didnt didnt have time to test it until the next day to find out that my computer wont turn on, no lights, no fan movement, monitor is black but asks about monitor connected? when i unplug it from the PC. I dont know why there is a problem because theres a 80mm fan in the fan rack in the case plugged into a 4pin cord too, which ran fine.
People tell me its the PSU(485w should be plenty of power to support a extra fan thats 120mm right? ), motherboard or both. I searched the net and read about shortcircuts, and using anti static bags. Which at the time i was sitting on carpet when installing the fan but would any of this be related to the computer not turning on I need to find out why it wont turn on, whats causing this and whats the solutions. It will be Greatful if someone teaches me hows the right way to install a fan.

Answer:Computer Wont Turn On<<<

Hey there, and welcome to Techspot.

Yah, opening up and working on your computer on a carpet is really a dangerous thing to do. So much static electricity in carpets, that there is a chance you may have zapped something.

Can you give us some more details?

When the computer is OFF, do you see any LED lights lit up on your motherboard?
When you hit the power button, what EXACTLY happens? Fans spinning? Beeps?

Also, just to be sure, remove and re-seat your PSU connections, ram, video card, HDD connections etc. Something may have simply come loose.

Good luck!

any suggestions of what to do now ?

Ok well I have a biostar mainboard. It is only like 2-3 years old. I just installed a wireless card. After installing the wireless card my computer would not turn after i hit the power button just once it takes multiple presses to get it to turn on. It also would not send a video signal to the monitor after installing the card although after starting and restarting eventually I could get the video signal. Now it will not even display the bios for the video card like it always did when I turned on the computer. But yes is it a bad video card or bad mainboard? The video card is a geforce 6600 256mb pci-e. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:Computer wont turn on

The reason why a computer would not turn on would usually be associated with a problem with the power supply or wiring. What kind of power supply you got? What all you got hooked up to that power supply?

Hold down the power button without letting go for 10 - 15 seconds.

This could be because of any of the many reasons like, stubborn programs or TSRs, virus, damaged drivers and so on.
