someone sending email to my address book from my address

Question: someone sending email to my address book from my address

I'm using windows live mail with 5 or 6 email addresses. the anomaly first occurred in April, and now has happened twice yesterday and once this morning. this time they are selecting about 10 addresses at a time.

Nothing appears in my sent mail. one of the emails came to me since i'm in my own address book. the following is the email.

Preferred Solution: someone sending email to my address book from my address

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This morning my msn email account had letters from family letting me know that my msn address has been sending emails from my account that contain malicious links. When that family member clicked on the link it started downloading and could not be stopped until she used control/alt/delete to shut off the computer.

Yesterday I had just opened an email account with Gmail and imported my address book. Is this related? Or maybe, is this problem tied to when the gaming system PS3 had its data hacked a few months back--personal data areas were hacked that included email, credit cards, and passwords, etc.? Either way, I need to find where the problem is and fix it.

I went to MSN Live solutions center, downloaded and ran their recommended tool to locate problems--a quick scan found nothing. I am running Nortons Antivirus that came with my Qwest MSN account. My main computer is running XP Media edition, 32 bit, with service pack 3.

Please help me locate the trouble and fix this. I have sent a warning email to my whole address book from my new Gmail account to hopefully prevent others from getting this.

Answer:MSN email address book hacked, sending malicious links

Update--so far MSN says it sounds like a virus, but nothing was found. We reset the computer to an earlier date, about 8 days earlier, and then Norton's wouldn't run. It had 3 error codes; 3043,1 3040,20011 and 3040,20063. Nortons Fix it didn't work on these codes and after following their recomendations, it still didn't work. Finally uninstalled Nortons and reinstalled. Ran quick scan, found 8 small problems and it fixed those. Ran again as full scan, found 4 more concerns and automatically repaired those as well.

Ran Microsoft Safety Scanner for full scan- nothing found. Ran SpyBot search and destroy--nothing found.

Talked to Qwest, because they were the number Norton's sent me too (Qwest provides my DSL). Qwest took the info and looked at my email account. They noticed the virus links all end in /world.html and many have more in common like modules/Search/world.html Qwest is looking into that, but who knows if they will find where this started? Qwest did say that copies of email sent from my MSN account were being sent to another account, my husband's email. We checked his account- non of my emails are there, except the spam email with the virus link.

This makes me worry--is someone intercepting my email? Maybe I didn't understand. My husband's email is on my account as an alternate in case something happens.
I have not had a chance to contact Gmail yet. It seems like more than a little bit of a coincindence that my ... Read more

All my contacts within my Yahoo Email Address Book are getting a bogus email with either no title or just a name in the title and then just a link in the body of the email that usually contains the word viagra or the word "love" or "lo.ve" etc in the link. I've downloaded antivirus programs inluding MS Shield and Norton Antivirus and they often find a Trojan or other files that they clean up but after a few days I get emails from my friends saying they are getting spam/virus email from me again.

I have been unable to insert an address from my Yahoo email address book for some time now and I have decided to ask for help.

All I am doing is opening Yahoo mail and trying to compose a new email to send to someone who is already in my contacts. When I click "to:" or "insert address" my address book shows up. But when I place a check mark and try to "insert checked contacts" I go to this address on a blank page: http://us.mc1612.mail.yahoo.com/mc/kioskHandler

I see that this has been asked before but no one had replied and I can't find the answer doing a search.

Can anyone help?

I have Vista Home Premium 32 using Firefox. The version is the latest version of Firefox but this has happened in many previous versions of Firefox. (I was lazy [or in a hurry] and just typed in the address of the entity to which I was communicating as a work around.)

Thanks

Answer:Solved: Yahoo email unable to insert address from address book

Concerning my post above: I turned on my older XP computer and I had no problem with inserting an address from the Yahoo! address book.

I compared all my settings in both computers and noticed that I had different settings relating to how pop-ups are handled. XP reminded me that the address book takes the form of a pop-up. On my Vista I had pop-ups opening up (?) in a webpage. That is the page which came up blank. After I have corrected the settings, I no longer have a problem.

I am using Outlook 2003 and run Windows XP.

When I create a new message I begin typing the name of the recipient and I would like it to match up with an address I have in my Outlook contact list. However, it does not read from there. It only seems to look at addresses that I have already sent to in the past. How can I get it to read from the address book? If I click on "TO" or "CC" it brings up another window with a list of addresses from my contact list. From there I can have it pull from the list. I would like to be able to do it withot the extra step.

Thanks!

Answer:Solved: Outlook 2003 dowes not automatically pull address from address book for email

That is how autocomplete works, from used addresses stored in the NK2 file.
This explanation and keyboard shortcut might help you.
Where do Outlook's auto-complete suggestions come from?

is it possible to email all contacts in my address book - outlook express - without all the addresses appearing on each email. can anyone help please?

Answer:sending emails to all in address book-

Put the address of the first person in the "To" line and put all the others in the "CC" line but from your address book add them as "Bcc". They should then all get a single copy.

I am trying to solve a problem on my brother's pc. It is sending out ads soliciting sales of Viagra, Cialis etc. to family members in his address book. The emails are sent to three family members every day or so, although he has reported that other friends are receiving the messages as well. He is unaware of these messages emanating from his machine. I have had him run Windows Malicious Software Removal tool, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware which found errors and they were removed but now two days later I recieve another solicitation from his address. I think he still has the problem. Any advise would be appreciated. He is not computer savvy but I talk him through the procedures by phone. Thanks

People listed in my Hotmail address book have been receiving e-mails from my account although I have not sent them. They are coming from my account because they are listed in my "sent" folder. Is there any method of doing a virus scan on my Address Book, and if not how do I handle the problem.

Answer:Hotmail address book sending e-mails

The entire drive gets scanned, not just the address book. Download, install, update & run anti malware from malwarebytes.orgHow do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

Hi y'all. Yesterday while my laptop was in sleep mode with the lid closed it sent out a email with this link or or similar (hxxp://www.isj1.health24x.com) the set of letters and numbers after the www. is different in some of them. They were sent out at 4:00am, 4:30am, and 6:00am in batches of ten at a time. This is the first time I've ever had one of these and I haven't even been on my computer but just a couple times in the last 2 months since I've been down sick. I haven't even run my mail in 3 or 4 weeks or longer.
The night before it sent out the emails with the links I had booted it up to check something and then just let it go into sleep mode and shut the lid on it. Since I've found that it sent out all those emails on it own I have ran a full scan with the Norton internet security 2010 and it didn't find anything. So I downloaded the newest AVG and installed it and run the up date. Then ran a full system scan with it. Same thing, it found nouthing.
What should I do now?

Answer:auto emailer sending link to everybody in address book

I have been receiving emails with the same pattern. They are from a contact that I know, there is no subject and there is a link to what seems to be a drug or prescription link. I have been receiving them for a couple of weeks now, but only from one person. I notified her, but nothing came of it. Her husband is pretty techie and couldn't find anything. A few days ago, I got the same type email from another one of my contacts. Today from 2 of them. I have been trying to research it on and off for a bot. I have come up with the health24x virus. I know how to do combofix, but I don't know if I am infected or they are.

I will run a hijack this and post my findings.

Hi there,

I'm hoping somebody can help!

My Hotmail account has been copromised in some kind of way. It keeps sending out e-mails with the subject of 'Hi' and the base of the message includes a link to a site called easybuyshopcn.com. I also lost all my e-mails in my inbox for the last 2 months. I scanned my computer using Norton, Spybot S + D and Lavasoft Ad-Aware and have cleared all of the results but it still seems to be sending these e-mails out automatically.

I have done a scan using Hijack This and have attached the log file.

If anyone can help at all, I'd be really graetful.

Thanks for taking the time to read...

Rob.

I must have something because my contacts are writing saying they have gotten an email from my email address that I did not send. Right away I opened AVG, and I found that it had found Trojan Horse Downloader Generic 9 & 10. But my virus vault was full, so it hadn't cleaned it (nor given me any warning messages!). I emptied the vault and cleaned the infection, but I don't know if that was what was hijacking my email and want to find out.I have attempted to follow the instructions for posting my logs here, although I'm running Vista 64-bit and cannot seem to download a fully working version of GMER (the options for what to scan are greyed). But the address book in Outlook is empty, so there is no auto infill for the To box of a new email, unless I have received an email from that person since the new machine was set up. And even those addresses don't appear in the address book. How can I get addresses from People into Outlook Addresses? Upgrade to 8.1 made no difference.

This evening I found a large number of rejected emails which appeared to have been sent by my main Yahoo email account to various names in my address book there were also some addressed to my other emails accounts which are also listed in my Thunderbird address book.
I have run "House Call" which reports "no threats", I also ran "spybot" after updating it and it reported the following "adviva", "Casalemedia", "Doubleclick", "Flastclick", MediaPlex", "statcounter" and "Web Trends Live" They all appear to have come in via Chrome. (17 in all).
I do not usually use Chrome, but this after noon I thought I would give it a try, my prefered browser is Firefox 18.02
Is there a real problem with Chrome and what do you think has caused my email problems?
I am using Windows 7, fully updated, along with ZoneAlarm (Free)ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall version: 11.0.000.038
Vsmon version: 11.0.000.038
Driver version: 11.0.000.026
Antivirus engine version: 8.2.11.97
Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1111911520
Web Identity Protections version: 1.5.393.22
My next move is to run a ZoneAlarm Scan.
Is there anything else I can do to protect my PC

Answer:Who has taken my email address book?

Your email has been compromised, who knows by whom, but it happens regularly.

I moved your thread, as this does not appear to be an OS issue. To get help you'll probably need to specify your email client; or if using web mail specify the browser(s) and your mail provider.

Question: Email Address Book

It appears that my address book was 'hacked" last night. Emails were sent from my address to all of the contacts on the list. The email had no subject and simply included a link. I have alerted the entire contact list and suggested they not click on the link and delete the message. Many have responded with thanks.

Thus far I have run a Norton scan with only five cookies detected and no viruses. I have also downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-malware and run both a quick scan and a full scan. No issues were found. What should be my next step?

For one reason or another he had un-installed the email client and now he doesn't have any access to his emails or address book. Is there anyway to obtain the emails or the address book from the Netscape email application after it is un-installed?

Thanks.

Hi guys,

'Boopme' had me run MiniToolBox and he wrote that he found "errors and other issues" and he bumped me to this thread.

Norton now seems to be removed and the restart was successful w/ out a restore.

This is what I wrote in under the from "Am I infected?" thread;

Been having problems with my laptop running Vista Home premium svc pack2.
One day, a month ago, Norton was not updating properly. Upon the next boot-up windows would not start and I was forced to restart in safe mode with a system restore. This was successful but Norton Security Suite was still not updating properly.
Since then, on a few occasions, I have attempted to uninstall Norton without success thru the program uninstaler. Norton is unresponsive. I even got the Norton rep. to do a remote deletion of all registry files of Norton. But they all returned after the reboot of my PC because windows would not open and I had to start-up thru system restore.
Since then my yahoo email been hacked and spam sent to the contacts of my address book.
I know I got something but I don't know what.. Can anyone take a stab at what I might need to do?
Thanks,
Brian

ProblemYAHOO address book pops "up" beneath the current window, when I click on "To:", while writing mail. I then have to click on its icon on the bottom bar to use it.BackgroundI've been using YAHOO for years. The address book has always popped up on top -- which makes perfect sense. The only reason to call it is to use it. Of course, you have to see it to use it.I just switched to IE 7 and have had trouble getting my pop-up management back where it should be. I reset settings in Pop-up Blocker (yes, I found that) ... then thought my google bar installation (also blocks pop-ups) might have been screwed up when IE 7 was installed (I didn't have to reinstall Google tool bar). But well .... kind of looks like maybe rebooting after resetting Pop-up Blocker did the trick for many of my problems; Right now except for one that I know of.

Answer:Yahoo Email Address Book Ie 7

I'm pretty sure that this is one of those things that is really easy if you know what the trick is. I think I fixed it once before, a few years ago. I simply set something somewhere or something. But I don't remember exactly.

I remember finding the answer using a google search. I got lucky and found it on the first page. All attempts to do the same thing this time have failed.

A problem has occured in my Outlook Express after a reformat. Whenever I go into the Address Book to send an email and click on 'Send Mail' I get this message: Address Book - Main Identity The Address Book could not identify an e-mail client that it could invoke. The Address Book uses the simple MAPI protocol to send email. If your e-mail client provides an opton to let it handle simple MAPI calls, then turn on this option from the e-mail client and try again. How do I turn on this option. Please help.

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4Is there a DWORD named UseOutlook and is its value set to 1?If so, you have Address Book configured to share contacts with Outlook, evenif you don't use it (can happen with the install of Office). Change thevalue to 0 (zero).

I received an email from my daughter today which was clearly spam. She has also received a range of "message no sent" or similar which relate to old email addresses that are no longer used by her contacts. This has all the look of a compromised email address book which has been harvested or perhaps even her machine "controlled" from elsewhere. I have no experience of this problem so any thoughts would be most welcome. She has a machine using XP, Comodo firewall and AVG free anti virus. She has used a POP email before but is currently using Hotmail. My initial thoughts are to ask her to run Superantispyware.

Answer:Email address book compromised?

Definately not good. Download and install Superantispyware and possible Spybot S&D as well. Make sure AVG is up to date with definitions. Uninstall Comodo firewall, reboot and re-install - I would have thought the firewall would have prevented any unusual behaviour but she may have inadvertantly allowed something out. Re-installing it should reset everything and she will need to allow things manually for a while. Disconnect from the internet and run AVG first, followed by each of the other solutions. It might also be an idea to run them in safe mode as well before reconnecting to the internet. If there are problems found and they appear in System Volume Information" there may be something lurking in a System Restore Point which means that every reboot of the computer it reinstalls itself. If this is suspected turn off system restore and run everything again. Reboot and turn on system restore and reboot again. Good Luck!

Click Start, point to Find, click Files or Folders type mapi32.dll, right-click the file and then click Properties. Check to see if the Read-Only check box is selected. If it is, untick it.Next go to run and type Fixmapi.exe and hit enter. If this fails then go to the windows\sendto folder you should have a zero byte file named Mail> Recipient.MAPIMail do you? if not you will have to add this file.Open the reg and go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.MAPIMail is it there and what is the value? If you don't want to write a reg file the you could try downloading the mapistub.dll from click here and save it ti windows/system.Chris

Just had a major computer crash, due to scam program called Security Tool. I had to have a professional to get rid of it,for which I was grateful. However, for them to backup existing computer, they had to format several of my drives. I have,as you can imagine, lost a good deal of my programs, settings, etc, which I can, I hope, replace. Main difficulty is that I have lost all my email contact addresses. Does anyone have an idea about how to retrieve them? I did manage to archive a lot of in-box emails through gmail, and if no-one has a brilliant idea, I will just have to go through ALL of them and pick out the addresses. Also, I can't find a way to recover any sent emailsAny advice?

I have two computers one with XP and the other with Windows 7 and run Explorer 8 on both and have this same problem with both and I login with administrator rights. I?m almost sure that it is an Explorer setting problem that changed due to Microsoft updates in the last month or so, I didn?t have this problem previously.

I use gmail as my email service and when I "compose a message" and click the to: link it does not open my contact list (address book). If I go to Explorer/tools/internet options/advanced/reset and reset to Explorer defaults and then restart Explorer my contact list will then open. The problem is solved until the PC?s are shut down and then powered on again the next day and have to go through the same process again.

Hi guys, my sis wants to know if she can block e-mails from anyone who is not in her address book. I thought it was possible but have been unable to find the solution (yet) but she only asked me an hour ago and I was busy at the time, so I thought where better to find the solution (if there is one)than here.
She is using Windows Xp and as it was preloaded on her machine I would say she has Outlook Express V.5 or above. Sorry can't say which version of outlook Express she has as she had to go out so I couldn't interrogate her anymore.

Help me out guys please, I'm the older brother so I have to know all (if you know what I mean) so I can get some peace.

I had to format Xp last night after a virus, fortunately I managed to save my address book first. Unfortunately, I highlighted all contacts and copied/pasted them onto a blank word doc. Now I can open the word doc but I cannot export or open the contact info, there are something called vcf files. Does anyone know how to open these or any other programsto use? A lot of my contacts I can only get to through email. MANY THANKS

Answer:email probs / address book

Regret to say this is the wrong way to save your contacts. You should have used the export facility in "Outlook" or "Outlook Express" to save you contacts to a file and not cut and paste as you've done. I don't know of any way you can now import your contacts from the file you've just created. Sorry.

HELP.

I'm getting bounced messages and spamblocker replies (like earthlink) from emails that were sent out with my email address at my company- but I never sent!!! (we don't sell penny stocks or viagra!) The IP addresses show they were actually sent from Amsterdam, and today, from Turkey.

1. How are they sending out email from my address?
2. How do I stop them? I don't want to get our company's email addresses or servers blacklisted--AGAIN.

Is there anything we can do??

Thank you in advance for any responses.

This is a strange happening rather than a problem.

Today as I was replying to an email from a local business house via the Reply icon, as I hit "Send" I saw the address change to "[email protected]".

I looked in the Out box and there it was with the incorrect address. So I manually changed the address back to what it should have been and re-sent it.

I use Eudora.

I immediately ran a virus check but everything was OK.

Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Thanks

This is not a thread about me trying to send spam mail to people. if it was there are other ways of doing so.

I have an honest dilemma on my hands.

I work for a company that makes international sales quite often.

I have been given the task of finding out a way of sending anonymous email from our offices to potential customers. But our office is in SoCal. i need these emails to be sent to the recipient as if they were coming from Mexico or Canada or some other country. How can I send email from lets say MS Outlook 2003 or even a public email account from Hotmail or Yahoo to specific potential customers that are located all around the globe without the real identity of the sender.

I know there are proxy servers, and programs like Hide My IP or whatever, but they do not work well.

I need to send email as if I were in Mexico, with a trace coming back to some part of Mexico (a specified ip address), and with the ability for the recipient to email me back a response, and that response gets forwarded back to the real email address or ip address. I know its sounds a lot or complicated, but if anyone has a solution to this problem i have, it would mean the world to me. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:How to Hide ip address for sending email

You can always create fake user on your domain and make it appear as if it came
from [email protected]yourdomain.com.

If you really need to hide yourdomain.com, then you're into email spamming techniques
and we will not discuss those here. The necessity of this is extremely questionable.
If your recipient is that sensitive, then someone needs -- help.

I would think that international sales would however, be conducted in the language of
the recipient and having staff that is bilingual is always a great asset

This company or spammer is sending us spam with our own email address. I have tried to write them that we will file charges or whatever our State Attorney General thinks is best.

But none of the emails or applications on their site will go through.

What can we do besides going along with the State Attorney General.

Not even sure if this should be here.

This AM my web-based Yahoo mail sent a spam to everyone on my contact list. I constantly see others having this happen to them but I do a daily scan with MBAM,SuperAntiSpyware and Windows Essentials and so far the computer LOOKS clean.

I have no idea about the web-based (Yahoo!) mail client, but it wold need an impetus from my computer to go sending crud about, I should think.

Asking Yahoo! about this proved slightly less frustrating that trying to thread a needle while on a vibrating bed.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

hello:

i have been trying to fix my email/outlook spam issue.  emails are going out WITH my actual email address, sending emails to people in my contacts, etc.
I also have been getting a ton of spam emails myself.

I use:

-Windows 7 Pro
-64 Bit
-Outlook 2010
-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier

Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

In the past I've maintained my address book using the built-in Address Book utility that came with Windows. Once each year, I would import my Address Book (.WAB) file into Outlook 2003/XP. (I don't use Outlook for email.) Then I would use the Mail Merge feature in Word 2003/XP to make and print address labels on standard Avery label sheets to simplify address of my Christmas cards.

Since I'm now using Windows 7, and the familiar Address Book utility is no longer available, how can I print my address labels? I have both Windows Address Book (.WAB) and Comma-Separated Values (.CSV) files that contain my address book data. So, I guess I need to know two things:
Which program or utility (preferably free) can I use to print my address labels.
How do I import my address data into that program?

If it helps, I am already a user of Gmail and Google Drive. Thanks.

Answer:Solved: Address Label Printing without Windows Address Book

Hi Jim,
Assuming you still have Microsoft Office (any version) you can use the Word mail merge feature and use your .csv file as your data source - no other programs necessary. What version of Office are you using?

Some time ago I had to reformat, reinstall and setup a computer for a friend. He had about 950 email addresses that he didn't want to type in again one at a time. I saved the .wab to a floppy disk and, when everything was working again I copied the .wab to the relevant folder (Win 98SE). Everything is now working fine, all his email addresses are there. Now, I have just had to do the same thing to someone else's computer (again Win 98SE) but this time there are no email addresses whatsoever in OE when trying to send an email. I still have the .wab file on floppy so how do I get OE to recognise it please?

Answer:Saving email address book to restore later

Only a suggestion...1. Open OE & key-in details of one contact in the address book. 2. Then note the name of the (newly created) .wab file in C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\. 3. Rename your SAVED .wab file to MATCH the (newly created) .wab file4. Replace the (newly created) .wab file with the saved one.

How do I import a text file containing email addresses into my address book. They are all seperated by commas and they are just email addresses, nothing else.If I use the import function - other address book - text file (comma seperated values)will this import them as seperate email addresses into the address book, or will it mistake the comma seperation as different fields for the same address book entry? If so, do i just replace the commas with new line breaks to get around this? (ie does a new line represent a new entry, and a comma a new field (name, address etc) or will it recognise commas as new entries ? )

Hi, My uncle just bought a laptop and I am going to help setup his network. I was gonna also try to Import his AOL saved email and address book when I setup what appeared to be Outlook. I didn't see exactly what version it was. How would I go about doing this safetly.

Answer:How to Import AOL email and address book into Outlook

Hi JMT74

See if AOL has the option to Export the Address Book as a .csv (comma separated values) file.
The .csv file can then be Imported into the Outlook Contact folder.

To determine the version of Outlook you are using:
Help > About Microsoft Office Outlook will show you the version.

Long story short.

Customers OS (Win Xp Pro) desided to go for a walk thanks to a faulty motherboard. I was able to recover all the data from the computer by copying it over to another harddrive. Currently all of the customer's C drive is sitting on another computer.

HOW EVER, I need to restore OUTLOOK XP. Where abouts in WIN XP is the files that contain the Inbox (Must), Address Book (Must), and Sent Items (No Nessary, But Would Be Nice) files.

And how do I go about restoring them???
I normally export/import to and from a PST file with outlook, but that was not option with this computer.

Please help me some one.

Need to get this fix up by close of business tomorrow. (24 hours)

Answer:[OUTLOOK XP] - Need to recover email and address book

i am pretty sure if you just reinstall outlook the inbox, contacts, ect will remain intact so you can export them to a file. you might want to save an image of the partition just in case. this might help too:

Last night I sent a message out to one of the Group lists I have set up in Outlook Express. It was a message intended for that one group, but apparently everyone in my Address Book rcvd. the message. I realized this when I started getting failed delivery messages from some addresses not on the intended list.

They came back in pairs from each failed delivery.

I have the 2004 edition of Norton AntiVirus on my computer so I hope a virus did not cause the problem. Another mystery is I received two emails at my work address with the two different subject lines that I had delivered the email with (I only sent one email to my office).

So somehow everyone on my Address book got a message that I only sent to rcpnts. of the one list. Anyone have any ideas how?

Hi all !! , any one discovereed how to prepare a handy list from "Address Book " of just names and Email addresses ??(for PC--not Mac) ta!,Redlegs.

Answer:Print Email addresses only from Address Book

If you select File> Export> Email address (Contacts in Vista) and select CSV (comma separated values) and save it to somewhere you'll find easily. The resulting file is an Excel file and can be printed/manipulated/sorted as required.I have a copy on a web based email service (Hotmail) because the list is then accessible from any net connected PC. Remember to take a printout when on holiday.Hope that helps.

Hi, I'm planning on changing ISP very soon and will want to let everyone in my address book know of the change of email account that will ensue. I can't find any way of sending a mass email out, without it including the email address of everyone. Does any way exist to do this? It's not that I don't trust anyone in my address book but I don't like the thought of sending email addresses out for all to see like that.Anything I can do?

Answer:can i retrieve my old email address book back

So long as you know your old email identity, password and settings (can be found from your ISP), then you should be able to go into your email client (outlook, outlook express or whatever you are using) and set up your old account again. The sort of information (minimum) you typically need to have is: Display Name : <Your name> E-mail address : <your old email address> incoming mail(POP3) : <get this from your ISP - It may be on their support pages> outgoing mail(SMTP) : <get this from your ISP - It may be on their support pages> Account Name : <your email account id> Password : <If you do not know this you may be able to get your ISP to reset it>Your email buddies (contacts) are probably lost unless you were using webmail in which case it may still be there in your ISPs mail server.___________________________________________? Why is sending form-data (via a typical html form) to an email address insecure, or less secure; and conversely, why is sending form-data online (to a database held on the host server) more secure?

Why is sending form-data (via a typical html form) to an email address insecure, or less secure; and conversely, why is sending form-data online (to a database held on the host server) more secure?Click to expand...

The content of the forms is not encrypted and as such can be "seen" by anyone who is "listening" to transmissions from your webserver.

Is this simply down to SSL, or is it more than this?Click to expand...

SSL can help solve this problem so long as your form is under the SSL, like:https://blah.com/form.asp

Also, is it possible to send form-data to an email address securely?Click to expand...

If you are sending to an address that you want to "Hide" so to speak, you can call the email from within the code (server side) and no one will be the wiser. However, if your form allows you to put in a sender address AND a reciever address, then unless you forum is SSL , it's contents can be "seen" as described above.

My yahoo email address is sending blank links to all my contacts. Help

Answer:email address sending blank links to all my c

That someone who is sending the blank links to your contacts is actually an account "phisher". Those blank links steal the account information from the people fool-worthy enough to open them up..... The phisher then logs onto those accounts and trys to look for personal data and other tid-bits..... What you need to do is report the phishing to the Yahoo administrators and theyll clear it up for you....

I have Outlook 2007 and two email addresses: my primary pop3 account and a second, forwarding, address which I ask most of my correspondents to use.

I would like to be able to use Outlook to "send from" the second address, and to have that address appear as the "sent from" address when anyone receives a mail from me.

At present anyone can use the second address and it will arrive in my inbox.

It's just the "sent from" value which is proving difficult to achieve.

I have tried setting up a new account in account settings but I can't do so with the second address, no matter which password I use.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I need to configure Internet address management manually. The domain name records are properly set with the domain provider - tested domain with http://mxtoolbox.com and https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com.

There is still an error with the remote web access and the SSL certificate is currently pending activation.

The IAM wizard is gren ticking Exchnage and Internet Router but not the remote web access site. - https://remote.migroupservices.com.au

I have a small business and have accumulated a mailing list of I have a small business and have accumulated a mailing list of customers (not spam). I am using SBC Yahoo for my emails. I am trying to send each one of them an email without doing a Cc (I don't want them to see each other's email addresses). If I send it out Bcc, they all receive the email (and don't see each other's addresses) but the "To: " line of the email is not customized. That is - all of the recipients see the same "To: " line. I would like to have their own email address be in the "To: " line. But it seems like the only way I can do this, is to send them each the same email, one at a time. Is there a quicker way to do this so that they will each see their own email address in the "To: " line, but will not be able to see any other the other recipients email addresses? Thanks for your help. Terry

I generally work from home, and emails addressed to me at my employer's domain are redirected to my personal email address at my ISP's domain. What I want to do is send mail through my ISP, but I want it to appear as though it came from my employer's domain.

However, when I enter "[email protected]_domain.com" in the From field, the recipient gets an email which says it comes from "[email protected]_ISPs_domain.com on behalf of [email protected]_domain.com".

Can I do anything to change this?

Thanks,

A small problem but one I can't find covered in the Help index or under any tab. For some strange reason when I open a new message in OE, and go to Address Book to select a recipient, the name of the first individual in the Address Book is also inserted in the To: box by default. This has never happened in the past and I don't know why it's doing so now. I have tried deleting and reinserting the first entry but this makes no difference. I am having to delete the entry manually each time from the To: box. Any ideas please?

Using Windows 7 HomePrem; latest version.
When I look in my "Contacts" I see "Ed Wiens" ONCE only.
When I compose a new email, I see "Ed Wiens" TWICE; once is his current addy and once for his old addy. I need to delete the old one but it won't show in the Contacts to be deleted.

How can this happen and how can I delete the old one, please?

Answer:contact is NOT in address book but shows when composing email

Welcome to the forum

Take a note of the new one and then try to delete-it
Close your browser then reopen and see if the old one exist.
Edit the old one to reflect the new one.

Good luck

I use Outlook Express 6.
I just opened my address book after a few weeks of not looking at it, and it seems every email I've sent and/or received has been added to the address book. WHats up with that? I only want friends, family, etc.in the book, not the random emails I send for other reasons. How can I prevent this from happenening?

Mike

Answer:Why is every email I send/receive being added to my address [email protected]

Hi. Click on Tools, Options, then the Send tab and uncheck "Automatically put people I reply to in my address book". That should do it.

Would any one know how to export eudora address book? I have two ver's of eudora installed on my PC and would like to move the address book from the old one to the new one.? Or where does it store the data base so that I can move/copy it to the new location?

Thanks

Answer:export address book from eudora email Utilitie?

Greetings, rosss.

Not familiar with Eudora, but most email clients import and export with the .csv format. You should be able to open your address book and save the file(s) as "something.csv", then import that file into the other program.
