WordPerfect Office X5 or X6 and Visual Basic for Applications

Question: WordPerfect Office X5 or X6 and Visual Basic for Applications

I've tried posting this on the WordPerfect forums, but can't get any help.

I'm trying to upgrade an entire office from WordPerfect 9 with Windows XP to WordPerfect X5 or X6 with Windows 7. The problem is none of the recent versions of WordPerfect Office come with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). According to the manuals and help files I've read, you should be able to install VBA separately. Here's an excerpt from the WP-VB manual:If VBA 6.3 is installed on your computer, you can access the VBA Editor from within WordPerfect, Quattro Pro, and Presentations. VBA 6.3 is not included with WordPerfect Office X6. To use VBA macros, you must separately install VBA 6.3.
VBA 6.3 isn't a standalone application. I have to install another software that bundles it. Okay, MS Office 2003 comes with VBA 6.3. I install it, and test it. The VB editor launches every time from within Excel. Checked the About Box, yep, it's version 6.3.

Back to WordPerfect, the issue persists. It can't use the VB editor. I go to Tools >> Visual Basic and all of the options are grayed out. Other people on the WordPerfect forums (namely WPUniverse and OfficeCommunity) have had similar issues, but it doesn't appear to be a top priority issue as it didn't appear in the forum frequently, and nobody had any real solutions other than to write in another language, like PerfectScript. We are unable to use PerfectScript because it lacks some of the functionality we need. I tried reinstalling WordPerfect Office. I tried it on multiple computers. I'm at a loss. The boss needs the entire law firm migrated over to Windows 7, and a later copy of WordPerfect installed, I've been fighting with this for two weeks, and I don't have much more time for this project. Has anyone seen this behaviour before? What should be my next step?

Thanks,
Alex

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,

I guess my question can be asked in two ways, the short way and the long way.

Here's the short one:

Can you do everything that you can do with VBA with VB?
The long one is:

I need to be able to write programs that conceivably invovle web forms/web services (VB right?), Microsoft SQL Server 2002 (VB again right?) but also Microsft Office applications like Excel and Access (VBA??). Does that mean I need to learn both Visual Basic and Visual Basic for Applications? In my initial research into Visual Basic I've learned that Visual Basic for Applications is a subset of Visual Basic, so shouldn't that mean that Visual Basic, being the parent and more powerful than Visual Basic for Applications, is capable of performing all of the functions that Visual Basic for Applications does?

Thanks for your help,
Bsdslayer

Answer:Solved: Visual Basic vs. Visual Basic for Applications

I do not know VB at all, only some VBA. The main difference is that VBA has words specifically for the applications, a classic exanple would be the
Range("a65536").End(xlUp)
both range and .End(xlUp) are for use in Excel.

Hi All

Whenever I open Word, this error message pops up

'Microsoft Visual Basic for applications'

Why is this? please help. Thanks.

Answer:Microsoft Visual Basic for applications - What is this?

That suggests you have a faulty third-party addin installed.

Try starting Word in Safe mode (i.e. hold down the Ctrl key while starting Word). If you don't get the error message, a faulty third-party addin is indeed the most likely cause.

In that case, re-start Word and disable all non-Microsoft addins (see under Word Options>Addins). Re-start Word again. Hopefully no error messages. In that case re-enable an addin and re-start Word. Do this for each addin till you find the culprit, then uninstall or diable it (re-installing it might fix the problem if you need the addin).

I'm using a VBA in a CAD package that saves its VBA macros in external projects.I'm trying to read the project file name using the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Extensibility 5.3 reference.

The code runs but is returning some UNC path for the file that does not exist on our network at this time. When I run it at home, it still reports the same path.

Does anyone know why this would happen?

Here is the code:
Sub ShowVbaProjectFolder()
Dim path As String
path = Application.path
Debug.Print "Application.Path '" & path & "'"
' The next statement uses the VBE Project reference
Dim oVB As VBProject
Set oVB = ExecutingVBProject
path = oVB.fileName
Debug.Print "VBA Project path '" & path & "'"
End Sub

I have just started getting a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. I have learned C/C++ so far through the major. Next semester it is required that I take a course in GUI Programming using Visual Basic. I cannot get a straight answer out of my professor so I thought that I might ask here. Is Visual Basic used in real world applications? The way I understand it, Visual Basic is an interpreted language that can only be run on Windows based systems. So, why even bother using it if I can just use C or C++ to make a Windows GUI application?

I developed a program in visual basic 6.0 and it works perfectly under Windows XP. When I try to run it on windows 7, some portions of it do not quite run as expected. All of the DLLs and other support files used by my application appear to be installed, but from what I?ve read this seems to be a common problem. Is there a workaround that might improve this?

Thanks.

I wish to use VBA to automatically date selected cells. The dates are in ascending order and are separated by a fixed number of days.

For example :-
Date cells A1 , A10 , A20 , A30 with 1 Jan 2006 , 8 Jan 2006 , 15 Jan 2006 , 22 Jan 2006.

My experience in VBA is almost non-existent in this area and I would appreciate some help on this matter.

Any Suggestions please ?

Good Day,

For Visual Basic functions that have parameters expecting intrinsic constants (for example, the transfertext function of Access has a transfertype parameter that requires one of the acExportDelim, acExportFixed, acExportHTML, acExportMerge, acImportDelim (default), acImportFixed, acImportHTML, acLinkDelim, acLinkFixed, and acLinkHTML constants), can anyone refer me to a list of the literal values of these constants? I can usually find this via extensive googling, but I never remember to bookmark it. Having it on MG would be much easier for me.

Thanks for any input,

Answer:Office 2003, MS Word, Visual Basic Editor: Some help links are broken!

The problem of not having all the help files occurs when Office 2003 is not completely installed. Specifically when Access is not installed along with Word.

To rectify the problem.

Select: "Add remove programs" from the control panel.
Select: Microsoft Office (Your version)
Select: "Change"
When prompted: Select Access, and make sure the "Advanced" checkbox (located in the lower left) is selected.
From the advanced window, select only the help files from the programs that were not installed.

For anything else you do not wish to be installed, you can typically only select 'install on first use' to keep the software from being installed until your ready to use it. Unfortunately Microsoft does not give the option to only install the Help files of the other office products without at least selecting "install on first use". There are no options to leave those products uninstalled. However, Microsoft does claim that the help files will remain on the computer if you fully install Office and then uninstall only the products you don't wish to use.

Hello everyone. Right now im doing a proyect in Visual FoxPro v. 6.5 where i am using a control names MAPX.OCX, this is used to display maps and its cordinates. I have already started to use this control, but im a bit stuck. I read in the manual of the control, but it is made for Visual Basic and C++ and I have very little experience using Visual FoxPro.

The instructions of the VB as the following:

Private sub Globessymbol_click()
Dim top20cities as mapxlib.layer
set top20cities = map1.layers("ciudades")
top20cities.style.symbolbitmapname = "x.bmp"
end sub

The Map1 is the name of an OLE object that identifies the MAPX.OCX and this also has some layers to put the name, icons, lines, etc. This layers are the ones i am having trouble codificating it in Visual FoxPro.

does someone here have any knowledge of how to do this? i'll thank very much the help.

Hi there
I'm just messing around a bit with Visual Basic - I just want to use EXCEL (mainly) and a couple of really simple Windows stuff. I can't be bothered with C# or .NET -- I'm not (nor intend to be) a professional programmer -- but would like to have a go with some small applications and get to grips with the Basic in EXCEL.

I've got the old Ms Visual Basic 6 disks -- is it worth while messing about with these on W8 (Ms believe it or not is going to support the platform through W8 releases !!!) or should I just bite the bullet and download Visual Studio express which seems a bit overkill also for what I'm really trying to do.

As I'm running a 32 bit version of Office it would seem that most of the VB6 stuff could run quite simply in EXCEL 2010 (32 bit) even though my OS is x-64 --or I could even run it in an XP VM.

Any suggestions as to which is the better way to go -- I just want this for casual use -- not as a professional.

Cheers
jimbo

Answer:Visual Basic 6 or Visual Studio for EXCEL use

Doesn't Office 2010 still support VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)? I think that is what you mean by Basic in Excel?

As far as supporting VB6 in Win 8, VB6 apps do run in Windows (32 bit), though we've had issues at work with some 3rd party components. I'm pretty sure 64 bit is out for VB6! I couldn't get any VB6 executables to run on my Windows 7-64 box, though they will run just fine in an XP VM.

I think your options are VBA in Excel if you want to stick with classic VB...

Ok, so i want everyones impressions on the various Office Suites.

I personally if i had hte money would go for the Microsoft Office Pro series. I for one, think MS Word is one of the most refined word processing applications avalible. And coming a very close second is Open Office. I find my self having many problems trying to do somthing in Word, or Word crashing, so i switch over to my trusty free Open Office.

As for Corel and WordPerfect, my experiance is that it is way over priced, and is basically on the level of "word pad".

I am attempting to have the company i work for tranition from MS Office to Open Office, but just for a control i thought i might throw in Corel.

So what are your guy's and gal's thoughts on the various office apps?

Answer:MS Office vs. Open Office vs. Corel WordPerfect Office

Openoffice is an extemely close second to MS-office and that is for one thing

Calc's graphing wizzard: It is horrendous. As an engineer I need to admend graphas add new plots... and it is soo hard with openoffice

There is suppose to be a more MS-wizzard with OO-2.1 so until then Openofffice is 2nd
When the new wizzard is shipped it takes first place very quickly and by a signifcant margin

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to get my feet wet in creating a .vbs file from notepad to do a basic function. I wanted to be able to run .reg files remotely but also interactively. This led me down the path of simply finding an example of a .vbs that would open anything remotely at all. Notepad is what came up with the most results and the Win32_ScheduledJob object appeared to be what was needed.

I researched many different places but this is a decent walkthrough. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa394601(v=vs.85).aspx

I grabbed the code below out of the website and changed the date parameters to run in a couple minutes from my current time. I could see the task in scheduled tasks but when the time had come and gone nothing would happen and this is just trying to get it to run locally so far.

In the past, I have installed WordPerfect Office 2002 (was using MS Office 2000 at the time) because I really prefer it for word processing. Every time I did it, there has been a clash because of some file that the two programs share.

Now , the problem is that all of my files in that program are frozen. I can't
get past this message. I am running VISTA HP . I have tried to install the updates for both WORDPERFECT and QUARTTO PRO 11. No good , I am
being told that COREL doesn't support either of the above any more . So I
tried to install the update's manually . YEA ! Right . It seems that I have not had an update for 4 years.

Should I get this program taken off my computer or is there some good advice that may come my way.

Friends, I have some very important files which were created using WordPerfect Office 2002 many years ago. WordPerfect Office 2002 had been installed on a Win98 PC and it had been in use to create documents in an office until recently. Now all these very critical WordPerfect files have been migrated onto a WinXP Home PC running MS Word. To enable the WordPerfect files to open, I tried to install the WordPerfect Office 2002 application which had been installed on the Win98 PC on the WinXP Home PC, but it failed/refused to install. What I need to do is find a WordPerfect Office application which is supported by WinXP and is also backward-compatible. Can any one help? If not, does anyone know any application that can covert the WordPerfect files into MS Word 2003/2007 files? Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I have bits of pieces of stuff from the CD "WordPerfect Office 2000". I have just the basic installation of WordPerfect 9 and Quattro Pro 9. I very rarly use the programs, but have had to reinstall the CD and find that the programs crash almost every time.

The rare time that I use WordPerfect 9 is for personal notes. The Quattro Pro 9, I've used to make a sheet including 2 columns of information, kind of like what you would see in a newspaper, or shopping list.

Is there a free program out there that I can download to replace the aging CD, as I'd hate to purchase a new CD that I wouldn't use, or wouldn't know how to use, I barely know how to use this one! lmao

Thanks for any suggestions!

>> Is there a free program out there that I can download to replace the aging CD, as I'd hate to purchase a new CD that I wouldn't use, or wouldn't know how to use, I barely know how to use this one! lmao Thanks for any suggestions! <<

You mean is it available somewhere "For Free?"

No, WordPerfect is not available "legally" for FREE; as far as I know, anyway. However you can get the WordPerfect 12 Productivity Pack CD for like $3.95 in this auction on Ebay which includes WordPerfect 12 - The Oxford Pocket English Dictionary - Clipbook and PerfectScript.

The auction supposedly ends on Jul-23-06 17:18:53 PDT however the eBay auctioneer "digipulseinc" has 32 available so you might want to save the "View seller's other items" to your favorites for future reference!

I mean it may not be FREE but you can get WordPerfect 12 there for like the price of two cups of coffee!

Good Luck

I have installed Microsoft Works 9.

Problem is, I have documents in WordPerfect9 and Quattro Pro9 (from Perfect Office 2000), plus some documents in Open Office.org in both word processing and spreadsheet. I believe I may still have some documents in WordPad as well. Yah, I'm a mess, lol.

Is there an easy click of a button, to have all my files from all these different programs, transferred smoothly over into my new Microsoft Works 9 wordprocessing and speadsheet programs?

Thanks
:banghead

Answer:WordPerfect Office 2000 ----> Microsoft Works 9

You could change the file associations if your converter is able enough.
I know Works has converters, did you open all the file types in works and see if formatting is retained before you change anything?

ie open a WordPerfect Letter note file extension, open a Works Letter note file extension (sry I don't know the extensions) then locate WP file in explorer and rename the WordPerfect letter "......1."works extension" try to open, see if Works opens and retains formating, repeat with all program/file types.

I've got a Lexmark M410. Recently upgraded computer to Win2000 using disk format and reinstalling everything. Shortly after, but not coincident with, the installation, both word processing programs ceased to print envelopes correctly. Word just doesn't send the comand to the printer and WordPerfect command will pull a sheet of paper from the tray and print the address on that, instead of pulling an envelope from the manual tray as was done before and a few weeks after installing Win2000. The printer diagnostics are fine. I've reviewed the printer settings with Lexmark. They're correct. Yes, I've reinstalled the printer drivers -- several times.

I suspect a missing or damaged file in Windows but I don't know how to find and repair.

All suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Hi: Please help me with my WordPerfect Office X5. I keep getting the following "Error 38 - Word Perfect Office files have been damaged or modified. Please reinstall from your original source". I have tried this plus removed and reinstalled several times but still get same message. Even managed to find an App. for this I had saved on a Disk. Cannot get a NEW ACTIVE LINK for this download. Corel will not help me just said to download WordPerfect Office X7 and pay $199.99. I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR WORDPERFECT OFFICE X5!!! Please help me with this!

Answer:Corel WordPerfect Office X5 - Purchased Nov 29-2011

From: ERROR 38 (alleged damaged file) and DOWNLOAD INSURANCE

Maybe it will help? Sounds like copy protection nonsense...as usual.

Error 38 is generated when the Protexis License service is not running. This can sometimes occur after system startup while services are in the process of initializing or if the Protexis service has been stopped. To further trouble shoot this error, follow the steps below:

Enabling Protexis
Click on start and go up to Run. If you are running Windows VISTA? click on Start -> Programs ( or All Progams ) -> Accessories -> Run.
In the 'Open:' box, type in MSCONFIG and click Ok.
Click on the 'Services' tab at the top of screen.
At the bottom of the screen, above 'Ok' & 'Cancel' check the option 'Hide All Microsoft Services'.
Ensure that the item: 'ProtexisLicensing' is enabled.
NOTE: Only one instance of ProtexisLicensing can be enabled. If there are multiple instances of this uncheck the second copy.
Click Ok and select the option to restart the computer.

Hi,

I removed Word and tried to reinstall but they want a serial number. I put in the numbers and letters I found on the disc but it said they were invalid and to contact Corel. We bought the Computer about a year ago and I can't find the paperwork that came with it. If I would have known that I would have to put in serial numbers, I probably would have tried to fix the problems as opposed to removing it and trying to reinstalling it. Does anyone know where I can find the serial number? I went to Corel's website and they have an 800 number and I copied it down and I will call tomorrow if no one knows where to find this number that they want. I would appreciate any help.

Thank you,

Sherri

Answer:Can't Find Serial # When Reinstalling Ms Wordperfect Office 11

I'm more than a little confused, Sherri, and perhaps you may be too. You see, WordPerfect belongs to Corel sure enough, But you also seem to be referring to Microsoft (MS?) Word, which belongs of course to Microsoft.

Corel WordPerfect and Microsoft Word are two different applications. Not surprisingly, the serial number belonging to one will not be valid for the other.

Hello All

I don't know if anyone can help me but I'd really appreciate it if someone can.

In MS Access 2003, you can right click on a table, select export and save it as an XML file. You can then unselect Schema etc. I want to replicate that feature through code in VB 6.0 but can't process it efficiently. The code I have written is:

Dim OLacUpload As New Access.Application
Dim PWD As String
PWD = "DATABASE PASSWORD"
OLacUpload.AutomationSecurity = msoAutomationSecurityLow
OLacUpload.OpenCurrentDatabase DATABASE LOCATION, False, PWD
ExportXML acExportTable, "TABLENAME", "FILENAME"
Set OLacUpload = Nothing

The code above works but it asks to open Access and sometimes errors if you delay the click 'Open'. What I want is for the user to click a button and just create an XML file. Is this possible? My database is password protected too if that helps?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Answer:Visual Basic 6.0 XML

Just read the database, and write the object to XML. If there is an export function built in to do everything, you wouldn't have to write a query to do much. You just have to configure an until loop to write each iteration of the read. I use a list to pass between the read and the write.

I too have used your export trick to make sure my XML was properly formated. But, in the end, you need to understand every character in an XML markup to properly program for it.

If you're trying to format a dynamic table structure, you'll have to build the tables to be constructed to fit your XML schema. XML is a bit particular. Example: If I need to take in an unknown.length set of dollar amounts, they need to be placed in the same element and reconstructed with a split("Delimiter goes here as string").

I found out today that XML predates the HTTP standard.. WhaWha..What?
XML was designed by NASA in the late 70's to track parts. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

i am making a program for my buddy to help him organize his football pool. For the portion where he enters the schedule, i want to have a ListBox with all the team names in it and empty TextBoxes for Home and Away for each game. All he will have to do is drag the team name from the List to the approproate TextBox.

The question is this: How do i make a generic DragDrop Event so that i don't have to repeat the same code for each TextBox (there will be upwards of 30 TextBoxes for some weeks)? The DragEnter Event was easy enough - i just added all the TextBoxes to the Handle clause.

The Code i use for one is:

Private Sub TextBox1_DragDrop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As _
System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles TextBox1.DragDrop
' Paste the text.
TextBox1.Text = e.Data.GetData(DataFormats.Text)
End Sub

So, for multiple i have:

Private Sub TextBox_DragDrop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As _
System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles TextBox1.DragDrop, TextBox2.DragDrop, TextBox3.DragDrop
' Paste the text.
TextBox1.Text = e.Data.GetData(DataFormats.Text)
End Sub

What do i change "TextBox1.Text" to? i have tried "System.Windows.Forms.TextBox.Text", but that is apparently wrong.

Thx in advance

You should find that it's the MSDN Library - Micosoft Developers Network Library. Not that this is a true replacement for the MSDN Library CDs, but, click here has most of the stuff you might get on the CDs - obviously not as handy as the real help files but useful if you're on a tight budget.

I'm trying to run an SQL INSERT INTO statement in a macro in Microsoft Access. This is the general line I'm trying to run:

Code:

INSERT INTO [2004Q27] (TrainingID, Count) SELECT 1, Sum(IIf([Q27_1]=1,1,0)) FROM 2004Data

It basically tallies up the count in the Q27_1 field. Note that this is just one instance of this line. I'm running it in nested For loop to run it for every year and for questions Q27_1, Q27_2...Q27_i. This is the actual code, with the variables for the year and the Q27_<counter>.
Code:

adoRS.Open "INSERT INTO [" & Trim(sYear) & "Q27] (TrainingID, Count) SELECT " & j & ", Sum(IIf([Q27" & Chr(95) & j & "]=1,1,0)) FROM " & Trim(sYear) & "Data", adoConn

I'm getting a "Syntax Error in INSERT INTO statement", and the only problem is the underscore. I have this statement for other questions, such as Q1, Q2...Qi and it works perfectly, but question 27 contains multiple answers, and so the field names are Q27_1, Q27_2, etc. Any suggestions on what to do?

Answer:Visual Basic / SQL help!

Nevermind, I got it to work.

Apparantly "count" isn't a good word to use for a field name. Once I changed it to "tally", it worked like a charm. And the underscore wasn't a problem at all.

Powerpoint ( 2002 ) project :I want to click on an object / Text box in my slide show that will then print that slide. Answer:Visual Basic Help need please !

I guess you are providing them with a button on each slide linked to this macro so that when in the slideshow, they can click a button and print the page that they are on?If so, then the problem is that the current slide refers to teh slide that you are on outside the slideshow so wherever you are in the slide show, current slide remains the same. The code that I think you need instead print a slide range and the range is determined by the slide that you are on in the slideshowSub Macro1()'' Macro recorded 15/11/2004 by Andrew Cherriman' With ActivePresentation.PrintOptions .RangeType = ppPrintSlideRange With .Ranges .ClearAll .Add Start:=SlideShowWindows(Index:=1).View.Slide.SlideIndex, End:=SlideShowWindows(Index:=1).View.Slide.SlideIndex End With .NumberOfCopies = 1 .Collate = msoTrue .OutputType = ppPrintOutputSlides .PrintHiddenSlides = msoTrue .PrintColorType = ppPrintBlackAndWhite .FitToPage = msoFalse .FrameSlides = msoFalse .ActivePrinter = "HP LaserJet 5M" End With ActivePresentation.PrintOutEnd SubHope this helps, sorry about the (probably) wierd formatting

Question: Visual basic

Hello I am thinking of getting into visual basic but it's too expensive for me (yes I'm a tight little ****) but does anyone know of a freeware clone of it at all. thanks.

Answer:Visual basic

Excel had it's own version of VB, as far as the coding goes it's all the same, you can even run class modules etc from it. A good starting point to learn VB coding. Obviously you can't make executables with it though.

Question: Visual Basic

HEY ALL!

I want to learn VB.. I was just wondering if there are any good freeware editors for it? if not, I`ll just stick to Qbasic

Answer:Visual Basic

For an introduction to the VB language get the MS supplied, free VB compiler for use with WHScript. You will learn the language, but the compiler produces only .com activeX files. Eventually, if you become serious, you will have to buy VB (currently version 6 SP 6).

I have just started learning Visual Basic in one of my high school classes. I am currently trying to create a program in VB for my parents' business. My parents have to constantly write out orders to their suppliers since they aren't good with computers so i am trying to make a program that would be user friendly and would allow them to select the number of each item they want(with all the items being in a list) and then they just have to click on a command button that is linked to another form in which there is chart of all the items the want ordered(not including the items they put zeros for). Also my parents would need to be able to print out the final chart to send to the suppliers and make a copy for themselves. This would save them a lot of time and would look much neater! I have tried starting to program but i have no idea where to start. can someone please show me a sample source code of a similar program to what i need or show me how to make this program on Visual Studio 2005 Express. Thanks in advance to anyone who will help me!

Answer:Visual Basic Pro 6.0

Provided you have enough space, VB6 runs quite well on XP.Even though Microsoft now has VB.NET on the market, VB6 is a great platform for program development.Good luck.

Following a bit of a meltdown I'm trying to reinstall VB4.Pro but floppy disk 10 which contains VB4-10-Cab is corrupt and no program I've tried has been able to recover it.  The disk is in DMF format and contains approx 1.6mb.Can anyone send me the contents by e-mail, I should be able to copy it to my hard drive and alter the Setup .inf file to install from there.I know this is MS copyrighted material, the version I have is genuine, purchased by me, registered to me and with a COA.  A response from MS states that VB.4 is no longer supported and that I should upgrade to VB.Net (at vast expense). Thanks

Question: Visual Basic

I've been working on some stuff in VB and saved it as a project and closed it as I had to go out. When I try to re-open it to work on I can't seem to get the form back up. I click on the project name and then open but all I get is a blank grey screen. Any ideas?ps I don't seem to have the ehlp files loaded on my program - but that's another story .......

Answer:Visual Basic

When you load VB it gives you the option to use a new form or load your project, delete the new form and load your project, it will not load your form until you click on the form button on the right hand side of the screen your form should then appear.

Answer:Visual basic

Welcome to TSG Jeismair,
I worked with this issue in 2012.(I did a TSG thread on it). Seems we were not able to autoprint a pdf. The best I could come up with was to open the PDF so the user could then manually print. He was only wanting to print 1 page. So your request may be different.

hey everyone.... im going to take some programming classes this semester and i can take c# and visual basic. my question is would it be a bad idea to take the classes together in the same semester? I ask because one of my previous teachers recommended not to take java and C# at the same time cause they have very similar commands. i looked at some visual basic.net and C# and they seemed really different but still would like to get a better opinion.

Well C# and Java is in high demand so you should take both of these classes. You can also take VB also. VB is easy to learn so you might want too add this course also.

Is there a freeware (opensource) version of Visual Basic? There are a boatload of good powerpoint templates and games that require VB but my school does not have it. My administrator is hesitant to buy something that she doesn't understand, so I am trying to find a freeware version of it to show her and the rest of the teachers how useful it can be.

Hello,

I have a couple of questions about visual basic,

I have used vb before long time ago, now i look around and i see stuff like visual basic.net, visual studio, etc...
I looked at a software store on the internet to see the price of visual basic, and i thought there would be like visual basic version 7, 8 9... like it used to be
But there isn't any, could someone explain to me the difference between these different visual ___ softwares? especially .net and studio

Also, how old is visual basic 5 now? How outdated is this program? Like would i be able to still use this to make a powerful program?

Question: visual basic

I want to start learning visual basic. I have office 2000, I was told to press alt + F11 to go to visual basic. I have done this and it brings me to the visual basic screen, when I hit the help menu it say this is not installed so I put my office 2000 disk in the cdrom to install it and it cant find it. Do I actually have visual basic and its help files or do I need to purchase them seperate from office 2000.
Also does anybody no any good site that I can go to for learning. I am a complete green horn when it comes to visual basic, so I have to start right at the begining. I don't even no where to start entering the code or if I have to complile it or how to complile it. So thats what type of site Im looking for.

Thanx
