Solved: Excel send reminder and mark it was sent

Question: Solved: Excel send reminder and mark it was sent

Using Excel: I need to send one email reminder to participants three months after they sign up.
This is only done once.
I need to mark a field "sent" after they have been sent this reminder.
The next time I check for people needing a reminder those marked "sent" will not be sent another reminder, only those who have not been marked "sent".
Thanks for the help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Solved: Excel send reminder and mark it was sent

Hi, welcome to the forum:
Code:

Option Explicit

Sub SendUpdate()
Call MailData("subject string", "status file updated", "[email protected]")
End Sub

Function MailData(mSubject As String, mMessage As String, Sendto As String, Optional CCto As String)
Dim eSubject As String, EBody As String
Dim app As Object, Itm As Variant
Set app = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set Itm = app.CreateItem(0)
With Itm
.Subject = mSubject
.to = Sendto
If Not IsMissing(CCto) Then .CC = CCto
.Body = mMessage
.Save ' This property is used when you want to saves mail to the Concept folder
' .Display ' This property is used when you want to display before sending
' .Send ' This property is used if you want to send without verification
' .Attachments.Add (Filename) ' Must be complete path'and filename if you require an attachment to be included
End With
Set app = Nothing
Set Itm = Nothing
End Function

You will of course have to add your macro to send the mail and then enter a true or false in the sent column

This is my first time posting on here so I hope this is the right place.

I have attached a spreadsheet I will need to populate and we would like to send staff members an email reminder before they need to do their task. Maybe a day or the morning of the day is fine, as long as they get the reminder. I was just wondering how I would go about doing that?

As the Excel file would need to be opened in order to work , I was also wondering how I would be able to set it to open on the start up of everyones machine. Even if it can only start up the programme then it will be obvious to people what they need to open.

Could the email or subject include as much info as it can. Like name, company, job title and contact number. and for it to be sent to the Asignee.

We will then change the next contact date once completed.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi, this is my first post here and I will preface this by saying I am not familiar with VBA/VBScript language at all (only that it exists and perplexes me), which is why I'm requesting your help!
I have an Excel spreadsheet that I'd like to have send me an Outlook email reminder 6 months after the specified start date, without having to open the Excel file so the macro can run. The reminder email can be simple, just a short message like "Referral Alert: Check Spreadsheet"

I've attached a test file with the columns needed highlighted in yellow.

If this is too tall of an order, I understand!

Answer:Send Outlook reminder on specified dates from Excel

As far as I know, this is impossible in the given scenario. Macros only run once a file is loaded; therefore, not having the file loaded means any code won't execute.

Answer:Excel 2007 Macro to Send Reminder Email

desantisj, welcome to the Forum.
There are already 3 or 4 posts on this forum that have the VBA code (Macro) that you can modify for your Workbook if you can read the code. Zack has written the code so it is a bit complicated, but it should be a case of substituting your Cell references that hold the data for the ones that others have used.
Otherwise it is a case of waiting for an Excel guru to come along and help. If none of them come along I can probably help you, but I normally work with Access.

For some reason there is a problem with this programme I have built (with help from Computerman) now I have transferred it to another excel file.

When I try to set a Callback Reminder (my terminology), once I have entered the details an error comes up for some reason. The programme has been tried and tested by itself and worked brilliantly but for some reason it doesn't now.

Hello.
I have been asked to send warning e-mails to a short list of adresses from an Excel file where reminder dates correspond to the actual date, and I have no clue how to do this with Macro’s. I’v tryed to understand how some examples of macros dealing with Excel and e-mails with no success as I still have a lot to learn…

Here is my problem : I have a spreadshhet containing company names (col.A) and contract renewal dates (col.D). there are about 80 companies listed. When the actual date corresponds to the reminder date an e-mail containing the company name, a fixed blabla and the reminder date should be send to 3 known e-mail adresses.
Could this be done with an Excel Macro
I’m using Windows 7 32bits, Office 2010 with Outlook as mailing system.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi
I am working with a huge spreadsheet
I need to repeatably copy and paste from some cells to another document
(saving in another format is not effective for this job)

The cells that concern me are "text" - some of the cells in that column have been formatted as text and contain the ' - they have the single quote for left alignment
This is making my cut/paste job quite tedious
I would like to remove the quote mark so I don't have to not select it on copy or have to delete it on paste

I have tried selecting the column and making the number and alignment General (have tried many many things) and cannot make them go away.
I have tried a replace all to no avail

Is there anyway to globally (throughout this workbook) remove all of the single alignment quote marks?

Thank you
Beth

Hello,

I was able to successfully apply Hans' module and have the spreadsheet send an email when it was opened if something was out of the calibration date.

My question is now if it is possible to have it send 2 weeks in advance, and then again in 1 week later. I know that because the cell will be occupied that it was initially sent, it will not read it again for another send. Is there a way to automatically clear a column so that it just sends an email every time its opened within that range?

Finally, where do I add the column for a CC email?

I would like an internet calender service that will send me unlimited reminder emails.

What happens: I will have a diary event...
I will set myself a reminder.
I will get the reminder: and I will still forget!

Much better: if I am allowed to set several reminders!

i.e. first reminder 3 days before the event, 2nd 2 days before, 3rd 1 day before and 4th 3 hours before.

This way: I won't forget!

I want the reminders sent by email.

At the moment, I use Yahoo calendar.
This does the job.
For any event you can set 2 reminders.
so what I do: create several events at the same time sending out different reminders.

Problem: creating more than one event os cumbersome and takes time.
Much better: be able to creat one event and add several reminders for that event.

Does anything like this exist out there...!!!

(Funnily enough... I have come accross something that does do this: sky.com. Not sure if you *have* to be a registered member though. And also: not sure of the reliability.)

If anyone can make any sense of my request... and knows an answer: please reply!!

Thanks.

In the attached xls file, the user would have this file open and would populate all the fields that are marked "User". When a date is entered into Column C, the Status (Column D) changes to "Resolved" and Send Email? (Column D) changes to "Yes".

Here is where I get confused looking at some example vba to send a selection from the worksheet to a specified email address in the same worksheet.

I would like to send the following to the email address in that row:

"Your issue {row A#} regarding UWI {row G#} has come off confidential."

When the email is sent, the Email Status (Column F) changes to Sent. Only rows with a null email status will be processed. This will prevent multuple emails from being sent.

Hope this makes sense.

Mike

How about other programs? Does Word do the same thing? What is your email client? Do you have any add-ins installed? Try opening Excel in safe mode (using the switch "/safe" from the run prompt: hit the flying windows button, click Run, type "excel.exe /safe") and trying it.

Hi all,

I know there has been a lot on this subject (so apologies) but as my knowledge in this area is limited and as I can't find anything that matches my exact needs I am struggling.

Basically, as part of my job I manage records in the office but I sometimes forget when things needs renewing etc.

What I would like is a for an e-mail to be sent through and to my outlook when a date has been reached.

Please see the attached: CSCS.xlsx

If CSCS tests had to be done every year for example, Paul Smith would be due another on 01/01/2014. I would like to set up a code so that when it got 2 weeks before that time, I got an e-mail saying 'CSCS Test due' and 'Smith' (i.e.. cell C1 and Column A for reliant person, in this case A3).

Is this something that is do-able and easy to set up?

Thanks, charli

I wish to have this message at user logon automatically, so will schedule execution of a VBS file which I could find from an earlier post by Zack.

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post here. I need your help in developing a mechanism to send an automated outlook mail, when the due date of a project is nearing 3 hours, 2 hours & 1 hour away from the current date & time. The script should preferably run automatically every time the PC is running when the excel file is open.

In the attached excel file, An email should go of to -email address (Col. F), with subject "number (Col. B) is due on Due date and time (Col. E)", and body "Dear Name(Col. F), please finish your project asap".

Also, the script should put a check mark on Reminder sent column (Col. G) after the mail is sent, the script should also check if the value of the cell is blank before sending email.

I have scoured the forum for similar problems, and although I found a number of of threads,I am not proficient enough in VBA to modify them to my needs.

I'd really appreciate any help,

I am working on a long list of temporary employees hired with "termination" dates. These dates vary. I want a reminder set to 5 days before the listed "term" date so it alerts me with a reminder. I have seen many different formulas and they work.

The problem I'm having is that there is a long list and that is a "continuing" list...so there are many blank rows. Currently I am using both conditional formatting to highlight it and I'm using the IF formula:

=IF(I2<TODAY()+5,"REMINDER","")

The problem is that it is filling in REMINDER for all of my "empty/blank" rows. I do not want it to appear other than where the data is, but I don't want to have to remember to carry the formula down. So right now I have about 22/23 rows that are filled. I want to expand my spreadsheet out to about 600 rows. But everything past the 23 rows is showing REMINDER even though there is no data in those rows. Is there something I can do to have it carry through the 600 rows, but not put in the reminder until there is data in there telling it to send a reminder? I'm using a MAC with Excel 2017. Thank you for any information.

I have a real simple need. Well, it's probably simple for some. I have a sheet built to track employee hire dates and eval dates. I would like to assign excel to open everyday at a time and then evaluate the cells with the eval and raise dates to see if an email needs to be sent to the supervisor. If so a simple "there are employee items coming due" email is sent to the supervisor. The super will go to the document and take care of the rest. Dta is not real. The email with the employee name isn't the one I'll be sending to. The Team Manager at the end is where the email will be going to for all on the sheet. I would appreciate the help. Hi, take a look at some of the posts, there are quiet a few that do just that, they may need a little editting for your purpose but...
Here's a simple module that does just that, all you need to do is wriet a amcro that fills in the blanks

Code:

Function MailData(mSubject As String, mMessage As String, Sendto As String, Optional CCto As String)
Dim eSubject As String, Sendto As String, CCto As String, EBody As String
Dim app As Object, Itm As Variant
Set app = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set Itm = app.CreateItem(0)

With Itm
.Subject = mSubject
.To = Sendto
If Not IsMissing(CCto) Then .CC = CCto
.Body = mMessage
' .Attachments.Add (NewFileName1) ' Must be complete path
.Display ' This property is used when you want
' .send
End With
Set app = Nothing
Set Itm = Nothing
End Function

I have looked over all different types of forums but unfortunately because i'm still very green when it comes to excel i get lost and confused when trying to do this.

Hi everyone,

I have no prior experience with Macro/VBA and would need help in creating an excel spreadsheet where an email reminder would be sent 60 days, 30 days and 7 days respectively if the project is not completed to the email stated in the 6th column with information from its row. If its completed, the checkbox would be checked and no mail will be sent.

The email should look like:

To: <email stated in that row>
Subject: Reminder to complete project within (e.g. 60 days)

Body:
Dear all,
Reminder to complete IN1661234 by 31st Aug 2016.

<personal email signature>

Do I need to create a button where I have to click in order for those reminders to be sent or will it be sent automatically everyday as long as the spreadsheet is opened?

Also, is it possible to create 3 different email template for each reminder days, such as 60 days prior to the deadline, the subject of the email would be First Reminder, 30days would have Second Reminder and 7 days prior would have FINAL REMINDER and a urgent marked on the email?

And how do I change the email where those reminders will be sent from?

Any help with regards to the above would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

to change colour of cells when something else is done you need to use conditional formatting under the format tab, hope this helps, your post is a little vague.

how to set auto reminder when a due date is reached mentioned in excel EVEN WHEN EXCEL IS SAVED AND CLOSED?

Hi lovely people!

I hope you can help me out - I'm new to macros. In regards to the attached excel file, I need to achieve 3 main goals:
Automated pop-up message - For each phone that is overdue for delivery (ie current date is more than due date), I need a pop-up message upon opening the excel sheet. The pop-up alert should say which phone is due (stock #), and how many days overdue it is (current date minus due date)
Automated email reminders - emails to send to various email accounts (individuals in my team) to remind them of overdue phones. The email should include details like the phone, stock #, supplier, due date and how many days overdue. I want the first email reminder to be sent on the due date itself, then 2nd reminder on the next day, and subsequent reminders every 3 days.
Have a separate sheet listing all the overdue items that need to be followed-up.

Lastly, but is it at all possible to create two versions of the same stock list? I.e. one sheet in English, and the other sheet in French. And any edits in either sheet will update the other version.

Cheers!

Answer:Excel help! Automated pop-up box and email reminders, and reminder list

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Have you doen a search in this forum.
There are many posts that relate to triggering a mail message based on calculations and expiry dates, etc.
You will of course need to edit some solutions for your purpose, but I do suggest you take a look (search) and probably you'll find what you need.
The question about the two languages is custom macro coding and will take some time.
Your sample contains onle one row of data, but nothing more to go on.
Do some homework (searching the forum) and someone will be able to help
Please don't forget to mention the Excel version, as far as I cansee it's at least version 2007 but it could be 2010 or newer

GOOD DAY, NEED YOUR KIND ASSISTANCE TO THE FORMULA I MAY FORM TO SEND REMINDER E-MAIL TO MY CLIENTS IF ONE OF THE 3 COLUMNS CONTAINING DEPOSITS DUE DATE IS WITHIN 1DAY AND NOT YET BEING PAID.THANK YOU

Answer:Excel 2013 auto sending of reminder e-mail

This cannot be achieved with a formula you will need a macro. The requirement is fairly straight forward but we need some more information to be able to produce this. How is your workbook laid out? we need to know1) which cell has the dates in it2) which cell has the email addresses to which you want the email to be sent3) what the email body and subject will be Also please note writing it caps is considered shouting, please don't type in caps.

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post here. I am using Excel 2013 OS win 7.

HELP! I'm so frustrated in trying to find someone who can help me with this issue ... I promised a report to the client several hours ago! The only way I know to fix it is to manually delete every single one. Too much time.

I'm importing spreadsheets from a system that I work with on a regular basis. There's a character box w/ a question mark, as if it's indicating a space or tab. How can I permanently stop this from happening? Of course this doesn't seem to be happening to anyone else who uses the same system ...

Answer:Excel 04 - inserting a TICK mark

Originally I tried copy/paste from Word which only seemed to work intermittently. Better plan is to put in a capital "P" and then format the cell(s) in Wingdings 2 font. This will give you a "tick in the box", to coin a phrase!

Can anyone send me code to automatically send me an email when the date listed in "column J" is the same date as today. Also, it needs to email only once and even if I am not running excel or at my computer. I want to use Microsoft Outlook and use the ClickYes program as well if this helps that was talked about by Zack Barresse in

Essentially I have to be reminded of a reapplication for specific state licensures on healthcare courses I provide. I don't want to forget which courses I have to reapply for so I need to have a program that will look at a date which I have in column J and then email me to remind me of this.

BTW - I am using Outlook 2007 and Excel 2007 on Vista.

Thanks. I appreciate your help! Also, extra points and praise for the person who solves this problem!

Hi,

i have used the following to get automatic alerts setup when a due date is near:
https://forums.techguy.org/threads/...ue-date-reminder-based-on-excel-file.1129238/

but instead of this looking at the due date column, i would like it to look at a conditonal formatted column, which shows status as either "due" and "expired" depending on due date. i would like it send out to all those with "due tag and not "expired"

I have name in column A, details in column B, emails address in column C, status in column i, and reminder in column k
Somethng else i would like to do later on, if at all possible,is to get a particluar email from outlook be transfered to excel and and then emailed to specific people based on a status column. So if an email is recieved to say a project is extended or cancelled,, it contents is copied to excel and emailed back out to certain people.
Thank you for your support.

There might be a better way, but this was the first thing that came to mind.I wasn't sure what you meant by "the number of entries varies from 4 to 12" so I included the first part (AND(CH1200<>"",...) to handle blank cells within the range.=AND(CH1200<>"",OR(CH1200=SMALL(CH$1200:CH$1211,1),CH1200=SMALL(CH$1200:CH$1211,2),CH1200=SMALL(CH$1200:CH$1211,3)))If you wanted to be consistant, you could use the LARGE function in a similar fashion to find the highest 3 numbers.Click Here Before Posting Data or VBA Code ---> How To Post Data or Code.

I need to be able to take one worksheet and see if the data on there is located on any other worksheet. I don't need to know which worksheet it is on, just if it exists. If there is a way to mark which worksheet the matching data is on, that would be better. Please see my example. On sheet 4, it is looking for matching data from worksheets A, B and C from column A. I tried a 3D reference but I don't think you can do that with Match from what I'm reading. Thank you!

Hey guys,
I have a question about coding and setting an excel file to send emails. I am using an excel file to track maintenance work orders and I would like to get an email each day for each work order that is requested to be finished on that days date. I have attached the excel file I am using, and the column that is important is C, "Date Needed" - If that date is today's date, the cell turns red and I would also like to get email notification about it. A separate email for each cell that matches today's date.

Also, if possible, I would like for it to look at all the sheets, not just the current month's sheet. For example, if a work order was filed in July but wasn't needed until September, I would still like to get the email reminding me that it needs to be finished on xx date in September.

I have attached the excel file I want to use.

I have searched all over this forum and others and have found many posts similar to this, but I am not a great manipulator of code, so I cannot get any of the other solutions to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Ok...so here is the deal. My laptop is working fine, and haven't had any problems up until a few days ago. Now, every 30 minutes I get this reminder popup window. It looks like its a Windows reminder, telling me it has updates to install or something...but it isn't. It tries to take me to a webpage, but it never loads so it just comes up PAGE NOT FOUND. I can't find out where its trying to go to because its not a normal IE window...and I've tried everything to get rid of it but with no success.

I've tried:
1. SpyBot
2. Adaware
3. CWShredder
And now I have a logfile from HiJack this (which I will paste below). Want to know if anyone knows what this is...its very annoying...the only way to close it is to end process or ALT-F4, right-clicking on it in the task bar brings up no options.

Here is a screen capture of one such reminder:
I tried capturing packets with ethereal...but found no HTTP packets sent or received when these popups come up.

I'm at a loss...and about ready to just re-install Windows. Any help is greatly appreciated.

RemindMe Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...ojehlgam?hl=en

RemindMe allows you to setup reminders while browsing and sync them between computers.

A reminder is set in two ways. Either specify "in" what time you should be reminded, say an hour from now, or "on" what time you should be reminded, say next week at 10am.

You can also add a reminder to your Google Calendar by clicking on the reminder in the popup then clicking on the "Add to Google Calendar" on the newly opened reminder details page.

My friend has McAfee AntiVirus and she keeps getting the popup to renew it. She won't be able to afford to update it for a couple of months. Is there a way to disable that reminder so it won't popup while her young son is playing his cd-run games? I tried everything I could find, but the only thing that keeps it from popping up every now and then is to take McAfee out of startup - well, that's not a good thing, so I didn't want that. We're going to try disabling it while he's playing since he'll be off-line, but that means she has to remember to enable it before she goes out to the net. And I'm not sure that will work. She has Win98SE. Any suggestions?

Hi, hope you can help. My Dell Vostro desktop (actually, at my church) is great, runs Windows 7 like a dream. But I have noticed that occasionally (not every time, but enough to be really annoying) a cmd window pops up during login. After entering the user password and before the desktop appears. It is labeled C:\dell\DBRM\Reminder\TrayApp.exe. There is nothing else in the window. After about 30 seconds, it disappears and the computer boots normally. No other problems. Any ideas?

I have a ladyfreind traveling on business that has a new laptop with MS "WORKS" version of EXCEL and needs the full blown "OFFICE" version of EXCEL to work with OFFICE xls files. She is not real swift on PC's/software and is in panic mode and is not up to importing the xls files into WORKS and then exporting them back to OFFICE, and I am unable to find a free download of an old (or any) OFFICE EXCEL version, and she does not want to pay hundreds of dollars for EXCEL OFFICE 2003 (and I did not see where that could be downloaded anyway...), so I am trying to determine if I can send her an exe or something along that line -- I have it installed and also have the install disk... Can I email that to her, and even if I could, she only has a dial-up 56k connection so that would likely take way too long -- altho, she does have wirelss 802.11G capability on her laptop so could she somehow use that at a "hotspot" to speed up the process???

Any simple, quick solutions???

Whats happened here, sounds like you computer thinks you have a different language key board.

I cant remember where exactly the setting is, but it should be under control panel -> keyboard or control panel -> regonial and language options

hope that fixes it for you

My PC uses Windows XP and I am using Outlook 2007. In the Calendar Section, I have recently got a "Reminder" which wont be dismissed.

When I DO click Dismiss, I get a message: Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded again. Cannot locate recurrence information for this appointment.

It was an entry to do some extra cover at work that I did for some time, but I deleted a while ago, but don't understand why if the calendar entry has been deleted that the reminder has not!?!

I also sync with an iPhone which of course mirrors the calendar and I suppose at some point the iPhone HAD the calendar entry when the PC did not, but after the sync it should have been deleted to match the PC.

Is there any way I can I get rid of this reminder?

Answer:Solved: Outlook 2007 Calendar appointment Reminder

Hello Anewor,

Please try the following:

1. Select "Calendar" so that you are viewing the calendar
2. Near "File" at the top of the window click "View" -> "Current View" -> "All Appointments"
3. Locate the appointment that keeps generating the reminder and delete it. Outlook will promp several errors, but just click through them and the appointment should be deleted now.
4. Restart Outlook.

Hopefully this helps.

I used to have this wonderful little program called "Skedezy." It was what we used to call (back in the DOS days) a TSR -- terminate and stay resident app (don't know what theyr'e called now).

It would launch on startup and you could program in little reminder notes and schedule them. When the programmed time arrived, a little window would pop up with your reminder note. You could schedule these notes to pop up monthly, weekly, on certain days, times, etc. It was a fantastic little program that I used for about 7 years.

Alas, I cannot get it to install on my new computer and the computer has long since gone out of business as far as I can tell. While the program is still floating around on some obscure download sites, there is no support available.

SO >>> I'm looking for a replacement. I don't want any complicated app that do 1001 things. I just want a simple program that will popup a small window/note when I tell it to.

I've searched all kinds of places like Twocows and Cnet but I'm having trouble finding the type of thing I'm looking for.

Does anyone here have a little app (preferably free or low cost) they can recommend?
