merging of due dates from excel 2003 to outlook calendar

Question: merging of due dates from excel 2003 to outlook calendar

Hi everyone,

I am beginner in excel and have used it only for creating tables etc. but never used it details like using macros. I need your help in merging due dates frome excel 2003 to outlook. details are as under;

I have a worksheet with some internal office circulars / procedures record i.e. type of circular, date of issue, circular no., issuing department, issuing person and review date. I am responsible to inform the issuing department that a review date of the circular is just reaching preferrably 15 days before. This is a large database and this is one of my assignments. so I can't do it by checking excel sheet everyday. I want to auto update my outlook calendar from review date column less 15 days. Or can excel sen a message to outlook regarding this particularly without opening that excel sheet?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You can't do anything unless Excel is running. The macro has to run from some app that is running.

Case name__________ Type of report__________ date received ______date due (85 days from receipt)
Hogan, Hulk___________CAN____________________ 5/7/12___________7/31/12
Jolie, Angelina ________Prevention_______________ 5/15/12 _________8/8/12
Stark, Tony__________ CAN ____________________6/19/12__________9/12/12
My excel doc already calculates the due date. What I desire is for the case name to populate to my outlook calendar to the date that it is due. Is this possible, and if so, when posting a solution, treat me as if I were 3 years old, I am not computer saavy, but am a social worker looking to cut corners anywhere I can.

I want to be able to enter the info on excel, open my calendar and immediately find Hulk Hogan's name in 7/31/12

Hello.

I am currently optimizing the workflow for the ventilation company i work for. (I am a young student worker). And one of my ideas is to synchronize dates of service that has been done to the customers ventilation systems (those dates are listed in Excel with all the other service data) with the offices Outlook Calendar.
Our clients sign up for yearly service for their ventilation service, however the service engineers are so busy that even though we have a service date (1 year from last service obviously) they might do the job 1 month later than expected. Therefor the dates in the calendar will not be up to date with the last service done.
The service engineers do a service report in Excel after finishing a job. Here they enter the date for when the work has been done. I want this cell where the date has been entered to synchronize with a Outlook Calendar appointment of this particular vent. service. Remember that there are many service reports in different Excel documents.
Is this possible? And how? If not, what if i made a new Excel document which automaticly updates the dates of all the other documents, and then made this document synchronize either automaticly or manually?
I have of course searched the web, and i found this thread which is very close to what i want: http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/541487-merge-excel-dates-into-outlook.html

The problem is; in that thread they talk about some code like everyone would know. Sadly I have no id... Read more

Hello There,

I have followed this thread to create a script in order to sent the dates from a excel sheet to Outlook.

Since on the excel file that I am saving the data will have many changes, I don't want each time all the instances to be copied to outlook. Because this ends up with many repeats of the same tasks.
For example I want the script to check if the data with this Subject is on my calendar and then to compare the date in order to change it or not.

And as secondary I want to join 2 cells as the subject.

This is the code that I use:
Code:
Sub ExportTasksToOutlook()
Dim olApp As Outlook.Application
Dim blnCreated As Boolean
Dim arrTasks() As Variant, i As Long
arrTasks = Range("A2", Cells(Rows.Count, "B").End(xlUp)).Value
On Error Resume Next
Set olApp = GetObject(, "Outlook.Application")
If olApp Is Nothing Then
Set olApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
blnCreated = True
Err.Clear
Else
blnCreated = False
End If
On Error GoTo 0
For i = LBound(arrTasks) To UBound(arrTasks)
With olApp.CreateItem(olTaskItem)
.DueDate = arrTasks(i, 1)
.Subject = arrTasks(i, 2)
.Body = "Created By Michalis Papadopoulos Excel Tool"
.ReminderSet = True
.ReminderTime = arrTasks(i, 1) - 3

Hello,
I am learner, who wants to automatize his repetition through combination of Excel and Outlook. I've read some posts on this forum and I see, that it is possible. However, I am totally lame in both Excel and Outlook and script writing. Yup, I am total tech noob.

I want it to look like this (behold, paint-edited picture):

I learn something, then I write down what I learned in excel spreadsheet ('WHAT?' in the spreadsheet) and give it a CODE, which would be shown in Outlook calendar. I write down the in which I learned and my outlook calendar syncs with every one of six repetitions.

I found some VBA (?) codes on this message board, but I have no idea how to implement them to my excel (and even less idea how to change the code). I would really appreciate if you would give me some hints or link (except for google.com ) where this process is described.

Here is link to my excel spreadsheet, if you want.

Thanks in advance.

I am trying to merge data from an Excel S/sheet to a Word doc and this data includes dates which I need in the format of '28 September 2005'. I've changed the format in both Excel & Word and for some reason it still merges the dates as '9/28/05'. I've even gone to the extent of putting a character in front of the date so Excel doesn't recognise it as a date but surely I don't have to do this everytime? I have pages & pages of Word docs to go through and edit this extra character out of.

What am I doing wrong???

Answer:Solved: Merging dates from Excel to Word

I do beleive I just figured it out myself! LOL

Simple add one space before the first number of the date in the Excel spreadsheet. I thought this would also add the space to the Word doc but it doesn't! Problem solved.

Answer:2003 Excel to Outlook Calendar appoinment VB macro creates duplicates appointments

Hi jayJay,

I'm not going to look through the whole code but what I think happens is that sinec you run the macro every time it will just add an appoitment, I think an options should be added, something like an extra column namen DONE and when the macro is run the cell in the column DONE should be given a value True() or a 1 to indicate it as done, so that when you run the macro again the column DONE cells where the valkue is not True() or is not 1 (dependign on waht you choose) is carried out.
This way you will avoid duplication.
Just an idea, happy coding.

How do you import a list of dates from excel (or similar) to outlook, and/or create a vcf so that friends can do similar.

I have seen instructions to use .pst, to copy from pc to pc, but this copies emails & contacts too.

Copying of single events in calendar, sends them all individually, not ideal if many.

Please point me somewhere to else to look if no help here....

I know that Windows Easy Transfer works for emails, so you may want to give it a whirl and see if your events can transfer as well: Windows Easy Transfer - Windows 7 features - Microsoft Windows

Gday,

In our office we use Outlook Calendar, Office 2003 with Microsoft Exhange Server. One of the computers (irrepsective of which user is signed in) has an annoying habit of showing appointments as occurring on both it's assinged days and and the one following.

Eg. If another computer books an all day event for Tues 7th October, on this computer it appears on Tues the 7th and Wed 8th.

If error is corrected on the affected computer (so that it goes back to Tues 6th) then on the other treminals the event now appears on Mon 6th and Tuesday 7th.

As far I can tell the settings on this computer are the same as the others.
The view settings for Fields both read Start to End.

I've installed the Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook, with no apparent effect.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

DB

Conceptually it seems very logical and easy but I've not found a way to do so...

I'm using Outlook 2003 and I'm keeping a DATE field of a 'Next Contact' date for all my contacts...

I'm 100% aware that I can search by this field and display all in order but I really want to go one step further and import this 'Next Contact' data along with the 'Contact Name' into the calendar function so that I'm presented with a reminder 2 weeks before contact...

I'm planning to look into exporting my contacts into a file and then importing them into the calendar but if anyone knows a way to automate this, i.e. I update a contact, it updates in calendar, or an appropriate macro then I would be hugely appreciative!

Thanks

Some online registration systems like Delta.com allow you to add flight reservations into your outlook calendar, but unlike American Express Infuser applications that import the data as an appointments which goes into your calendar smoothly, Delta and some others sends the data as a MeetingRequest.ics file. To get these MeetingRequest.ics into your calendar you must drag and drop it into the correct day/time. That works fine for items that begin and end on the hour, but say you have a flight for 9:23 to 10:37 you must drop it into 9:00 and then edit the file for the correct start and end time and then delete the old MeetingRequest.ics item. In short, a lot of work. So my question is how do you take an individual MeetingRequest.ics item and easily merge it into you outlook calendar without the need to edit files? Any and all help is welcomed.

For some reason as I have added dates to cells, they are not getting converted to the Date type I have selected: 15/03/2009I type in my entries in this format:March 15, 2009 (usually it converts immediately but not this time)I've tried selecting the columns of cells with dates, Select>Format>Cells>Date and Type but nothing changed (although one date was converted to 03-15-2104Any suggestions?

Answer:converting excel dates in Excel 2003

Dat's cuz they're probably not being recognized as dates by Excel. My guess from afar is that the cells are formatted as Text and aren't accepting any other formats. Excel is finicky like that sometimes.Try this with one of your stubborn "dates"...let's assume it's in A1=DATEVALUE(A1)Now format that cell anyway you want.Then do a Copy...PasteSpecial...Values to eliminate the formula.

Let's say I have data contained in Excel with each piece of data in an adjacent cell...

Name: Rank: SSN#:
Smith, John R SSG 123-456-7890

How would I take that information and merge it into a memorandum in Office, all in separate documents?

So say the memorandum looks like this:
Whomever it may concern,

Smith, John R., SSG, United States Army, 123-456-7890 has been certified blah blah blah blah

Sincerely,
Me

So if I had 50 names it would produce 50 documents or something?

Is that even possible?

Answer:Merging Data From Excel Into Word (2003 Or 2007)

I think you can use Mail Merge to do this kind of thing.

I'm guessing your spreadsheet is in the .CSV format?

If you are using 2003, I'm not sure what the headings are at the top, but with 2007 you need to choose the mailings tab and then select start Mail Merge.

Select the Wizard and you should then have an option somewhere down the line to import a data source.

After doing this you should be able to insert the merge fields which should look like <<Surname>> or something like that.

From this you should then be able to create a template letter and print all the records out.

Hope this helps,
Cornzey

Hi

I need help from one of you excel gurus out there.

I will see if I can explain clearly what I am trying to achieve.
I would like a macro that searches a worksheet for all debit transactions and credit transactions seperately for a given date and then sums them up. For example if i had two debit transactions on the 17th March, the macro finds the range for all transactions on the 17th and sums up those debits. Again the same for credits.
Ok, here is where it gets trickier, I need it to do it for all days from 1/07 to 30/06. So it's searching to see if there are any transactions for any of those dates and then sums them up.

I appreciate any assistance

Thanks

Hi all,

I am currently using Excel 2003.
I have a column of dates which display the following format 17-Feb-2006. I would like to copy theses from one cell to another, but not in a date format, but as text. Problem is, if I copy into another cell and change the cell format to text, it diplays the cell valuation of 38765.
I also try the data>table to columns route and it does show the cell as text but in this format: '02/17/06'

I believe in excel 97 I could simply copy>paste special>text only, but this seems to have been removed from excel 2003.

I have also simply tried to insert an apostrophe at the beginning of the data in the cell, but this also goes on to display the following format; '02/17/06'

Does this make sense and if so, can anyone pleeeease help.

Many thanks

This is my first time posting so please bear with me...

I have a spreadsheet with two columns containing date and time stamps and I need to calculate the hours elapsed between the two date/times excluding weekdays and holidays. I tried using the NETWORKDAYS formula but it only considered the dates and reported the results in days, but what I need is hours. Not business hours, just hours. So for example:

Column F Row 7 shows 5/18/2009 21:01

Column G Row 7 shows 5/20/2009 22:27

I need a formula that will consider date and time in each column and report the time elapsed in hours.

Any help or advice on composing my formula would be greatly appreciated!

I am exporting report data from an accounting program into Excel 2003, then having to change some of the worksheet data into to a specific format (some columns show dates, phone numbers, etc - which need to be converted to text - translation:HEADACHE) and then saving file as ".csv" to submit reports online to another agency. I am pulling my hair out here because it keeps changing to funky formats in the .csv sheet and I find myself back at square one. I am required to do this on a monthly basis, and will soon be submitting a similar file to a different agency, so I will double my headache if I can't get my head wrappred around this.

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks.

OK- so here's the deal. I googled this topic and a thread from this website came up as a top result. Although it looks like it could help with my issue, the jargon is way too over my head to be of any use. So I'll explain what I'm looking for and hopefully someone can help on a step by step basis for me. Im not an idiot, but code and VAB and all that good stuff is out of my leage. Basically, i work in higher education and I am looking for a way to merge Excel data into an Outlook calendar. So if Jane Smith is in our medical program and has an appointment with John Doe on December 3rd at 2:30 pm and those are all Excel columns, can I turn that into data in an Outlook Calendar? Can it automattically go to John Does calendar on 12/3 at 2:30 pm and have the students name, phone, and program of interest show up in the schedule? Below is a copy of the code that was posted to answer the google thread i saw, but I have no idea A) if it's what I'm looking for, or B) how to even implement it. Any help in accomplishing this goal would be awesome! Thanks. I hope I explained enough for you, if not just let me know and I'm happy to elaborate. Appreciate your help! (whoever you are ). the problem I am haveing is that outlook is screwing up the dates of the emails. Example : an email was sent on Jan 29, 2001 but outlook says it was sent on Aug 31, 2004.

Bascially it is just assigning dates of Aug 31, 2004 to every single email regardless of the date it was oringainlly recieved or sent. Is there any way I can fix this?

The steps I am taking are exporting feature in Outlook Express 6 (which reads everything fine) and then going into outlook 2003 and importing.

I have over 11,000 messages so if people suggest things please make sure it works before I try and because it takes like 10 minutes every time I do an import.

I use Outlook 2003 and set up follow up flags and then sort by "due by" date. I recently got a new computer and inported all my files via pst folder. Everything came over except the dates - how could I get the dates to appear?

Answer:Outlook 2003 - Dates Follow Up Flags

Hi Djacks

Do you see the Due by date, when you open the .pst file instead of Importing it?

In Outlook 2003:
File > Open > Outlook Data File
Browse to the location of the .pst file and select it.
It should then appear in Outlook.
Are you using the same version of Outlook on the new computer?

Hi,

I just realized many of my mails are an hour off from the correct time of receiving, after I imported my mails to Outlook 2003 from Outlook Express.

Can anyone explain why, and is there a way to fix this ?

Thank you for your time.

Well, I just upgraded to Office 2003 with Outlook 2003. My old Outlook 2000 worked fine. However with Outlook 2003, the Created and Received dates on Internet email that I get are backwards. Outlook shows the received date as the date inside the actual email (i.e., the creation date) and the created date with the time Outlook got it. Among other things, this has the effect of showing the email was received before it was created!

This behavior only started today when I installed Outlook 2003. Note, this behavior happens on both the old emails that Outlook 2003 imported from the previous version as well as new emails that it receives now.

I am running Outlook 2003 with SP2 and all the latest Microsoft updates (I did an update tonight).

Any ideas?

I have searched the Internet and as many forums as I can find with no results.
I have searched Microsoft's sites with no help.

Thanks

Hi, this is my first post here and I will preface this by saying I am not familiar with VBA/VBScript language at all (only that it exists and perplexes me), which is why I'm requesting your help!
I have an Excel spreadsheet that I'd like to have send me an Outlook email reminder 6 months after the specified start date, without having to open the Excel file so the macro can run. The reminder email can be simple, just a short message like "Referral Alert: Check Spreadsheet"

I've attached a test file with the columns needed highlighted in yellow.

If this is too tall of an order, I understand!

Answer:Send Outlook reminder on specified dates from Excel

As far as I know, this is impossible in the given scenario. Macros only run once a file is loaded; therefore, not having the file loaded means any code won't execute.

We're running Server 03 w/ Exchange here at work and 99% of the clients are using Outlook 2007. There is a shared calendar in the mix, also on Outlook 2007. Is there a way to get Outlook 2003 fired up with being able to have read permission to that shared calendar, or do I have to upgrade the 2003 client in question to 2007?

Answer:Server 03 - Outlook 07 Shared Calendar - Outlook 2003 Clients - Readable?

You should just have to get the compatibility Pack for the Office 2003 users.

HI..

Ive got an Outlook 2003 using Boss and a Outlook 2002 using Assistant who are having issues with sharing their calendar. The assistant is inputting appointment data into her bosses Outlook 2003 Calendar.

The issue is : The 2002 user puts in a whole day appointment on a given day (say 10/10/2004). When she opens her bosses 2003 calendar, the same appointment is still a whole day, but it stretches across 2 days (in this case 10/10/2004 and 11/10/2004). Both users use common Regional Settings (Australia).

Outlook 2002 user is at Office XP SP3.
Outlook 2003 user is at Office 2003 Pro SP1
Exchange Server 2000 (sp unknown)

Anyone have any ideas for me?

We are using Exchange Server
Some staff in our executive branch have brand new laptops (lucky guys) with Office 2007[Of07]. They are creating calendars which need to be shared with other employees, most of which are running only Outlook 2003 [OL03].

Calendar(s) are made, and invites sent for specific calendars to specific groups of users.
IE: Regional Sales Mgr. creates several supplemental "events" calenders he wants to share with his different teams.
Calendars:
---Default, Corporate, Dist1, Dist2, Dist3, Region
Group:
---DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3
Permissions:
---Dist1 calender --> DistGrp1
---Dist2 calendar --> DistGrp2
---Dist3 calendar --> DistGrp3
---Region --> DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3

All OL03 users get an email with a link to Microsoft explaining how to open shared calendars. Off07 users get the icon to click and open specified calendar.

OL03 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Off07 user's default calendar, with no option to open or even locate any other calender.

Is there something lacking here? Anyone have any work-a-rounds for OL03 users to open a shared calendar (other than the default or main calendar) of an OFF07 user?

Thank you.

Hi Folks,
I found the following thread:
http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/541487-merge-excel-dates-into-outlook.html

At best I am capable of copy pasting code - and I guess I'm slightly failing at that even.
I simply wish to be able to update an excel with dates of future tasks, in a particular column, and have these automatically appear as tasks on a particular date in calendar. Ideally column a (name of task) and column F (date in format 1.1.1.) would both be incorporated into the task, which would be allocated to date X in calendar.
I am using Outlook version 14.0.4734.1000

I have associated with Outlook 14.0 object library already. This is what i have so far (the first line is incorrect, presumably amongst others):
Code:

Sub ExportAppointmentsToOutlook(14.0)
Dim olApp As Outlook.Application
Dim olApt As AppointmentItem
Dim blnCreated As Boolean

'Read the table with appointments:
Dim arrAppt() As Variant, i As Long
arrAppt = Range("A2", Cells(Rows.Count, "F").End(xlUp)).Value
On Error Resume Next
Set olApp = GetObject(, "Outlook.Application")
If olApp Is Nothing Then
Set olApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
blnCreated = True
Err.Clear
Else
blnCreated = False
End If
On Error GoTo 0

I'm in HR and I have a spreadsheet that incorporates staff information commencing, with each month in a new sheet. Unfortunately, department managers are forgetting to do staff reviews at 3mth, 5mth or the 6mth probation. I've entered formula to calculate these dates from the staff commencement date.
Now I need to find out if I can have some sort of Macro or VBA coding to email me a reminder to contact the managers a week prior to the the review/probation dates.

Please help! I have no idea with coding/programming etc.

Answer:Excel 2016 to send Outlook email reminders on various dates

Try the attached, one thing to note that you had the probation dates in the wrong place

6mth, 3mth and 5mth

so I changed it to 3\5\6

when you open the workbook the macro will run and generate an email IF any dates is below or equal to 7 and above or equal to zero. Meaning that there is a week until the review is required. This code will fail if the review date is in the past, this can be changed to tell you that a review date has been exceeded.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, so hopfully my question is easily answered. I've researched that I can use VBA code for the to solve my problem, but clearly have a lot to learn about VBA code and need a solution for my problem in the mean time.

I have attached the spreadsheet that I require help with.

I have an excel spreadsheet where I have drivers listed and number of days until their License & Registration expire (Columns F and H respectively). The drivers are identified by a driver number in column C.

What i'd like to do is have excel communicate with outlook and send me an appointment or email reminder when any driver is within 5 days of expiring. I also have other staff members that I would like the notification sent to also.

A question I have is: Will the reminders be sent automtically or will a macro need to be run? If it was to be done automatically, would it need to be upon opening the spreadsheet of would it just send the notification 5 days prior regardless.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer:VBA Code to notify me via outlook when excel dates are approaching expiry

I haven't taken a look at your sample file but this post has some code to create appointments in Outlook.
See if it can help you, you'll need to make changes.
And no, you will have to run the Excel file to trigger it.
Here's the link

http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/739431-excel-macro-update-outlook-calendar.html

I'll see if i can find the time to look at your sample, but I don't want to make it late today

Hello,
I'm without any success hardly trying to modify (as begginer I'm still unable to create) some macro's I found in this forum in order to send data from Excel sheet into a specific public (or not if it's too heavy) calendar in Office 2010.
Import would take place with a push of a button and duplicates should not be allowed...

Even a simple line like: Dim olApp As Outlook.Application gives an error ...Maybe I'm getting tired...

And how should I modify those lines in order to select a specific Calendar (using Folder(Calendar name) in place of GetDefaultFolder in the lines mentioned here under?
Set olNS = OL.GetNamespace("MAPI")
Set olFolder = olNS.GetDefaultFolder(olFolderCalendar)

If someone would be kind enought to give me a help, here are some details about my Excel sheet:
Column A "Company", Column D "Date soon", Column G "Date Late"
Column A is fully completed, but columns D and G have some lines without any date...

I would like to know if I can configure my Outlook 2003 Calendar so I can make a queue of tasks and then drag specific tasks into the calendar. I know how to generate a task list and I know how to create "appointments" in the calendar, but I can't seem to view both the task list and calendar at the same time. I'm trying create a scheduling system for our landscape company without having to invest in expensive software. We do not need a robust system, just one that we can have the crews view and access information attached to their specific "appointment". Does anyone have ideas?

Answer:Outlook 2003 Calendar

I am not sure about Outlook 2003, but in 2007 you can view your tasks right next to your calendar by clicking view > to do bar. You can also drag tasks to the calendar, but since you can set reminders in your tasks why bother? Do you have an Exchange Server or is this seperate standalone instances of Outlook? Access is great as a personal organizer, but I think it falls short in a lot of ways as a scheduling application. There are far better tools out there to do scheduling.

At work I log onto my network profile, open Outlook and, hey presto, the dates I have created have disappeared. This is also the case vice versa. Is their any way I can save dates and access them across both my profiles seeing as I'm saving to my hard drive in both instances?

Answer:Outlook 2003 Calendar question

G'day again.
In Outlook, Tools > Options > Other tab > Advanced Options
At the top is a field "Startup in this folder:"
Click on the Browse button and select the calendar you want (hopefully it will be there).

Hmmm... just thought you might not always want to open Outlook to a calendar. That might be more tricky.

You could try this and see what happens. I have never used it.
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Calendar Options.
Under Advanced options, select the Enable alternate calendar check box.
In the list, select the language you want.
In the second list, click the calendar option you want.
P.S. How did you go with your other calendar problem?

It might be related to view settings, but both are setup with "31 day" view.

I have a user who has several calendars he work with. One of them which is located in public folders stopped appearing in his calendar list. When we checked on it, it still shows in the favorites menu of public folders however it does not appear to be associated with calendars, its icon is now one of Notes. When clicked upon it does open as a calendar though.
He is running on Windows 7 and using outlook 2003 build 11.5608
Unable to move or copy this file. apparently there is a prohibition about that built into outlook.
How can this be resolved? Meaning to get it associated as a calendar again and back into his calendar list?
I have attached a screenshot of this problem (I think I did anyway )

Thank you for any help in this matter.

Answer:Problem with Outlook 2003 Calendar

however it does not appear to be associated with calendars, its icon is now one of Notes.Click to expand...

Methinks you (or someone) installed Notes and associated that particular file type (or just that file) to Notes. Shift + right click it and try to open with outlook. Check the "always use this program" box and that should re-associate that file to Outlook.

In theory, the file seems to have been associated with another program. Perhaps changing the association back to Outlook will restore it's function.

That is my educated guess based on what I have read. However, I have another question that may or may not render the above situation useless. What is this image supposed to show? I am confused as to the relation in the list. What is the significance of the highlighted portion of the favorites list?

A clear understanding is required in order to provide the best assistance. Right now, I just don't have it.

edit: I should also ask, where is this calendar actually located? Would it be on a network share, named Public Folders?

On an PC running XP Professional, I have an weekly appointment in the Calendar of Outlook 2003 which contains SQL code. When in the calendar it looks fine, yet when i copy and paste it into the program which will run the SQL, the apostrophe's turn into black oblongs.

If i copy the SQL code into Word 2007 it is fine, and then into the SQL program it remains fine.

If i copy the code from the original email then it remains fine.

I have ensured that Word, my default email editor, isn't using the "smart quotes" option.

This didn't happen when i was using Outlook 2000 or Outlook 2007.

Any idea's? It's just a pain to be copying the code into word before pasting it to be run.

Thanks, Dannage

I migrated to a new computer and am having a problem bringing my old Outlook 2003 over. My contacts and e-mails are fine, but my old calendar data appears to be in the wrong location.

In Outlook 2003 I have two calendars

1. Calendar
2. Calendar in Personal Folders

All of my data is in Calendar in Personal Folders, however I can't set reminders in this location. I receive the following message: "The reminder for xxxxx will not appear because the item is not in your Calendar or Tasks folder."

How do I get my calendar data in the correct location?

Thank you.

Suddenly all of my "all day" events in Outlook 2003 Calendar - birthdays, anniversaries and a few others, appear on the actual day and the following day as well. Does anyone know why this might have happened and how to get rid of the erroneous extra events?

Hi all, I'm hoping someone has run into this before because it's driving me insane. I have a user who has created a personal distribution list, (she is not using the GAL) and when she uses this list, she gets bouncebacks (undeliverables) from two employers who are no longer at the company. Neither of these users are in AD at all, neither are (or were) delegates of the DL owner. I have deleted and recreated the DL twice, thinking that it is corrupt, and that has not fixed it. I have deleted the autodelete function, which did not work either. This is ONLY happening in her calendar, not regular email. There are no different permissions in her calendar, either.
Ideas, anyone???

Have her remove them from her personal distribution list.

I have two XP Home machines networked together with Office 2003 installed on both systems. Without buying Windows 2003 server and setting up an MS Exchange server is there any other way of sharing the calendar in Outlook? Somebody had mentioned using a point sharing service (I think that's the right term), but this would most likely be an additional cost. Thanks.

Have a look to see they have been archived. There should be an archive calendar. You can check settings for when items are archived under Tools - Options - Others tab and click on Auto archive button.

I have recently upgraded my winXP Pro computer from Office 2000 to Office 2003. I have allways shared my calendar on my home network as a net folder. Special emails are sent to my wife's PC to keep her copy of my calendar the same as mine and visa versa.

Now I see the calendar sharing is not supported by MS Outlook 2003!!! It says that you need to install Exchange server!

I have been searching on the internet for a free sollution, but I only find applications like OShare and Group products that I need to pay for.

Anyone out there that knows a way around this. Web based is not a sollution, because I sync with my cellphone. I do want to revert back to Office2000 just for this.

I am currently using MS Outlook 2003 as my main calendar application, an overall I am happy with it. I use the label function when adding appointments and I would like to be able to edit the text and colours used in the list. However hard I try I am unable to find an option to edit these.Has anyone had any success with this, or have any ideas?Many thanks.

Sorted the problem by looking a bit more closely to the toolbar functions. Bit of a DOH moment I'm afraid.

I have a user who would like to print a monthly calendar out and not have the weekends doubled up on top of each other. Right now when I go into my Calendar and than look at how it will print when Monthly is selected as the style Monday through Friday are fine but Saturday and Sunday are half height/doubled up on each other. Is there a way to have those two days print out in their own columns like the rest of the week?

Looked on the forum and could not find any good info.

The issue is that I have multiple calendars. I am trying to merge the two and delete the copy. Can't seem to find a way to do this.

Reason I need to merge them is that not all of the appts carried over in the copy and many of the new ones ended up in the copy rather than the main calendar folder.

Suggestions?

Which view were using to copy the appointments over? I would probably look into changing to a list view or making one and bringing both calendars data into an access table. Within here I would run a query on the data to ignore the duplicates and then import the data into a calendar. After this I would delete the two old calendars and rename it if necessary.

Has anyone come across a situation when you make an appointment in your outlook 2003 calendar and invite people to join in and if they use outlook 2000, instead of automatically putting that entry into the outlook 2000 calendar, it just comes across as coding. It works fine if it's 2003 to 2003 or 2000 to 2000 but the feature doesn't work between the 2 versions. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi All, Had a nightmare with my outlook and syncing to a mobile phone with the shift to daylight saving time. Basically all my appointments in outlook are one hour earlier than they should be. Is there a simple way to move all appointments back by one hour? All my location and daylight saving time settings are correct.

Using Outlook 2003, when we display multiple calendars side by side (or even just one for that matter) the header just reads "Calendar" in the scheduling area. The only way we can tell one user's calendar from another is by the color coding, so we have to be very careful.

Just got Outlook going on a new wireless laptop, and we noticed that each person's name is displayed over the scheduling area. Great! It's also Outlook 2003, so is there a setting we need to change on our other PC's to accomplish this?

Answer:Outlook 2003 Calendar Views

Got this figured out! Turns out we had to go into Tools, E-Mail Accounts and change some options. Outlook had been set up to open mailboxes of each user, which isn't necessary in the newer version of Outlook 2003 when you just need their calendars. After they were removed there, we could go back and open a shared calendar and they automatically popped up under Other Calendars and now display their name across their schedule.

I don't have Outlook here at home, so I don't remember the exact steps I had to take to get to the open mailboxes area, but if anyone has this problem and needs assistance, just ask & I can double check the steps at work.
