Bring image to front in PowerPoint 2010

Question: Bring image to front in PowerPoint 2010

Hi,

I am working with a powerpont presentation where I have put a logo in the slide master, it needs to show on every page. So here is the problem. On some slides I have to insert pictures that cover up the portion of the logo that is saved on the master. However, the part of the picture that is covering up the logo is just dead white space, and I figure there is a way to make the logo always go to the front.

Let me know if anyone has any ideas or needs more clarification.

Thanks.

Preferred Solution: Bring image to front in PowerPoint 2010

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This started this morning. Running Windows 10 Pro. I can run the browser (Chrome), luckily. Word also. But I cannot most other apps (I think), like WinSCP, but not Calc, not Notepad++, not Notepad. If I try to run Calc, it loads in the task try and if I hover the mouse over it I can see the image of it. Same with Notepad++, But if I click on the icon, nothing happens. Word is fine when loading or clicking on the task try icon. Same with Chrome. Same with Edge, Firefox, Visual Studio. So far, limited to Notepad, Notepad++ and Calc but there could be more.

More: Explorer as well.

WELL, not exactly. I use a program called Agent Ransack to search the desktop. I don't use it much but I know that you can click on an Explorer icon and choose the folders you want to search. I did that and explorer came up OK. BUT not from the Start Menu or task bar.

Unfortunately running Explorer from this program limits me to selecting folders.

Answer:Cannot bring some apps to the front

Switch to and bring to the front in Task Mgr does nothing.

If I run Word and then File->Open-Browse, I can use Explorer no problem. Just not from Start or Task Bar.

I have a 2007 power point presentation but when I play it on power point 2010 there is no sound can any one help thanks Chippy

Answer:powerpoint 2007 sound wont work when used with powerpoint 2010

It may be because the sound was not embedded in the 2007 pp presentation but just linked to it - i.e. to a sound file on the pc that originally produced the power point presentation. This may help to explain.

Hi,

Can someone help me with this as i really can't think of how to do it, a quick Google search hasn't helped either and the only other place i could think of that is as useful as Google is... Seven Forums

I would like a Batch or VBS file to do the following (or something that will at least do it)

I have 1 PC with 1 Monitor...
I have 2 browser windows running full screen...

I would like to open/display/bring them to front alternately automatically.
How can this be done?

Example in readable form, well i hope:

Code:
:Start
Bring to front
"browser window 1"
Pause=30seconds

Bring to front
"browser window 2"
Pause=30seconds
GOTO :Start

Regards,
JDobbsy1987

Answer:Batch/VBS File, 'Bring To Front' help

Unless they are different browsers, it could be impossible to program something that would be able to discern "window 1" and "window 2" across many different browsing sessions.

Can you explain more of why you'd like to do this so we can think of other ways to possibly address it?

Hello, trying to find some key+click combination to bring all windows for a given application to the top of z-order. For example, I have several Putty terminal windows open in the stacked taskbar icon and I want to display all of them, not just the last used. The only work-around I have found so far is to shift+right-click and "minimize all windows" followed by "restore all windows". Any simpler way to do this?

Answer:Bring to front all windows for a certain application

+1 +1 +1...
Completely surprised that this has received no response in almost two years (698 days). Are droidix and I the only Win7 users who use more than one window of the same application and would like to bring them all to front at once?.

Without even going into third party applications - what if you just want to open two or more explorer windows to copy files from folder to folder? Win7 has given us new "side-by-side" and "stacked" window arrangements that help with this but as soon another application covers these it take many mouse clicks and/or key combinations to display them all again.

Hey Microsoft! Please add a "bring group to front" context menu command to the taskbar! <-- this will probably fall on deaf ears so if there are any third party developers out there that can do this I would gladly pay for the application, could be your road to riches.

This is the second time I've gotten this bug, and it seems to occur roughly two weeks after a fresh install.

Long story short, I pin all of my favorite applications to the taskbar and when I click on a running program, I expect it to bring focus to that program (bring it to the front). Instead, it flashes yellow and the window that I want stays behind every other window. The only program that does not do this is Digsby for whatever reason. Basically, the only way to see an existing window is to minimize all of the windows in front of it and only clicking on the window itself will give it focus. That's partly a lie, because I've discovered that a series of clicks on the taskbar icon will do it, namely: right click, left click, right click, left click. I don't want to have to do four clicks when one normally works.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit acquired through the MSDN program for students (Academic Alliance or something). I do know that I never had these issues in the beta with Ultimate edition.

Thanks.

Answer:Taskbar bug, doesn't bring programs to front.

I am also having this problem. I'm using Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and am having the same symptoms. Clicking a program on the taskbar doesn't bring it to the front, it just blinks yellow/orange. I have to Win-tab or minimize windows in front of the program to get to it. Any help on this would be most appreciated.

Whenever i click on a button for a window in the taskbar instead of bringing it to the front it makes it flash orange like a messenger window. Also i cannot right click on the taskbar window buttons but i can right click the taskbar itself.

Hey guys,
I have had Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student for a few days (legal bought copy with key, so that won't be the problem) and right away I noticed Word 2010 could not open a .doc file. By the end of the day this problem was fixed via the registry.
Now I am having similar problems with Powerpoint 2010; double clicking a .ppt file doesn't open it in PP2010 and like the problem with Word 2010- you cannot simply change the default in the conventional manner via the Default Programs menu or the Right click> Open With> Choose Default option.
In the end I found that in the registry; going to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.doc and changing the (default) value from doc_auto_file to word.document.8 the option came up for Word 2010 and it by default began opening .doc files.
All I need is the ppt_auto_file replacement for the registry (if it works) in order to fix it and of course anyone else having this problem with Word 2010 and Powerpoint 2010 will at least have solved one or both of the issues!
Cheers guys!

Answer:Powerpoint 2010 and .ppt (same problem as Word 2010 and .doc)

Hello,I am trying to develop a formula/function (FF) in a workbook column of data (e.g. Wkbk "A", column D) that looks at another workbook column of data (e.g. WkBk "B", column C). If the FF in "A" finds a match in "B" it will pull in the data from column Z of "B" into "A", column W. If no match if will do nothing.

When I open the newly created html file in Front Page 2002, it opens on my computer in Powerpoint and not in Front Page.

How can I get it to open in Front Page? I need it to open in Front Page so I can publish the page with Front Page.

Thanks

Mr. Gates site is busy pushing the new Office 2003 (which trial came on my new Presario - goes poof in 60 days without purchase) but I am not at all sure that I need to spend the extra if I can just download the bits and pieces missing from what I already have. I can't tell you how for 2010 because I did not have it for long, but I can advise this. I did the same thing when doing a speech for class before. I left the slides white. It worked perfectly. It also had the desired effect of keeping the audience paying attention to me, and not the pictures the entire time. Good luck with your speech.

Question: PowerPoint 2010

Hello,
I am new to the forum so please be gentle. I have created a ppt presentation for a class I am taking. It is about 85 mb. There are some issues I just can't seem to fix and wonder if anyone has any suggestions.

When I click (1 time) on the file, the audio for the first slide starts. Then if I click again, it opens as a show and then there is double audio on the first slide.

I have a few 50 second clips that I want to delay before it starts. Maybe 5 seconds for my audio description to end.

Thanks so much.

Try running the repair utility from control panel. Run a virus scan, anti-malware scan. Alternatively uninstall and re-install PowerPoint. You have a corruption somewhere if your system restore doesn't work hence virus scans, etc.

I am blown away that how, after many attempts to try to place a URL and link to a webpage in a PPT 2010 slide, I eventually had to GOOGLE the subject, after which I still am having trouble. I was pinching myself. Is this a bad dream? (I hear Mike Myers... it's not frikkin' Laserrrrr equipped shark, it's just a little earl...)

So I STILL haven't been able to link an object, like an inserted PNG file, to a web page, but...

with a text box, and I mean a single line, with no RETURNS
if you
Select the text in your txt box, and then
Right-click it and use Hyperlink, you can finally get something to SHOW UP in the "Text to display:" field.
Then have your clipboard ready to paste the URL in from your webpage.
Start your slide show (Shift + F5 from the current slide) to check it
It has a tendency to suck in whatever URL's in your active browser tab when you go to your browser to swipe and copy the URL you want. Is that supposed to be convenient?

The HARDEST PART to figure out is that it DOESN'T WORK until you start the slide show. So don't be thrown by that part. Hell, I was!

All the other stuff - Create New, Browse... in that silly window from the Hyperlink icon in the Insert toolbar... it's annoyingly hard to figure out.

And while my momentum is going on this rant here, it's also damn near impossible to find the "About..." to see which version of PPT I am running. I still haven't found it. Microsoft really bites sometimes. (I realize it's part of the... Read more

This pops out and somewhat tells me to get the Flash Player, which I already have. Some time between, I installed Flash CS5.5 Professional, that's maybe why something went wrong, but what exactly.., I can't tell.

It's like PowerPoint 2010 was using WMP to play its content by default or some similar bullshit. Truth is that before I installed the Flash CS5.5 Suite, I didn't even have Flash Player and PowerPoint worked fine, once I got the Flash Player delivered within the CS5.5 Suite, it suddenly starts asking me about downloading it, isn't that weird?

Hello:

I am running Office 2010 on a machine with Windows XP SP3. All of the Office 2010 programs work fine except Powerpoint, which completely locks up my machine. The mouse freezes and Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work. I feel like it may be related to scrolling through the slide sorter view, but am not sure. Also, I feel it may be related to having jpg's imported into the presentations, but again, am not sure. Having it open without working on it seems to be OK, but if I open a presentation with imported jpgs and start scrolling through the slides, it freezes almost instantly. I've tried updated my mouse driver (as suggested somewhere) but it seems to be up to date (on the device manager it's called a HID-compliant mouse and has a microsoft driver from 2001). I've also read places to try updating the printer drivers. That will be my next move. Any other suggestions of information needed?

Thanks

Hello! I am desperately seeking help to recover an earlier version of a powerpoint lecture I have to give on Monday. Somehow, it got replaced by the original version I saved with only 5 slides. The last time I worked on the lecture (Monday the 2nd of July) I had a total of 157 slides. I just went to back it up yesterday on a thumb drive and noticed that it had been replaced by the original 5 slide version. This is about 20 hours of work that seems to have just disappeared. The interesting thing is that when I look at the properties of the currently saved 5 slide lecture, it says it was created and last edited on July 1st, neither of which is true as I created it on the 28th of June and edited it on the 2nd of July.

I have tried going to the previous versions tab, of which none are available. When I try and restore my system to an earlier date, it seems I never set that feature up when I bought the computer.

I run windows 7 and office 2010 on a Sony Vaio.

Please help!! There is no way I can regenerate this lecture in time.

I appreciate any and all efforts to help recover the nearly completed version.

Thanks!!!

Hi, I am new on this forum and hope you can help me: I have the latest Windows system with MS Powerpoint 2010. I have a snowflake picture (originally blue, I recolored it to white and erased the background in Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3) and saved it as a PNG: I have used it several times in Powerpoint on dark backgrounds of several colours (blue, green, red) but now that I want to use it on a grey background, although on the screen everything looks OK, when I print the powerpoint document the white snowflake appears on a dark grey square of a different shade to my grey background i.e. it looks awful! Previously on my former computer (Windows Vista) I had already used the same pic on a grey background without any problem.
I also tried to use the original blue snowflake and asking Powerpoint 2010 to remove the background (I tried this in several formats i.e. png, jpeg, tiff, gif): again the same happens only if the background is grey!
Can someone help me please? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi, y'all!

I recently upgraded to Office 2010 Pro from Office 2007. All programs work fine, except the PowerPoint.

The program opens with no problem. I can open the presentation in the Normal or Slide Sorter view, but when I try opening it in the Slide Show or Reading View, all I get is a few colored lines, no images. Almost like the graphics are bad, which is not the case. Could it be some settings I can tweak, or is it a comparability issue?

I'm still running Win XP, the graphics card is fine. All other programs in the suite work fine.

Anyone have an idea? Thanks a bunch!

He has a file that is .pptx -- when he tries to run it as a show, the slides will NOT advance with the mouse OR the keyboard (only with automatic timings). If he takes OUT the automatic timings and has it checked to advance on mouse click and NO check in advance in 00 seconds, it doesn't matter -- it still won't advance.

Any ideas?

Thanks for helping!

OK. This, I think, bizarre, but here goes. I have PowerPoint 2010 and when I want to insert video from a website I cannot do it. The "insert from the web" in ghosted. One piece of advice I already got to remedy the situation was to put in Adobe Flashplayer through Internet Explorer. I did this (I also have Google Chrome on my PC. Is there anything else I can do to activate this insert? I'm a teacher and use powerpoint quite often, especially in my film/text class. Thanks in advance.

I have PowerPoint 2010, and am trying to print handouts. Even though my printer can handle colour, I want to print in pure black and white, for easy copying, and to save ink. When I go to Print and select the "Pure black and white" option, the preview looks perfect. But, when the job actually goes to the printer, it comes out coloured!I've tried setting the printer driver to grayscale and choosing "Pure black and white" in PowerPoint, and then the job comes out in shades of gray.I've tried multiple files, including those created with earlier versions of PP and those created exclusively in 2010, and they all exhibit this problem. If it's significant, I'm using Windows 7, and I've replicated the problem on another Win7 machine.I think this must be a bug in the software. Can anyone advise me how I can go about reporting it to Microsoft? Thanks,Gary

Unable to print PowerPoint 2010 handouts in grayscale format. I select "Grayscale" in the print setup, and select grayscale on the printer properties, and set the screen view to Grayscale. But pages still print in color. I found many posts on this issue on MS Office forums, but have not seen any solution.

My PPT slides include lots of color graphs, tables, excel tables pasted in as bitmaps. Lots of dark color on screen, but I need it to print in grayscale. Slides were created in PPT 2007 (some in ver 2003), and printed fine using Office 2007 and Win XP. Now with recent upgrade to Win 7 and Office 2010, this problem started.

Dell Optiplex 7010 desktop. Windows 7 with all updates. Office 2010 SP-1.
Printing to HP LaserJet 9500 MFP. Using the latest driver i can find in Win 7.

I can work around by printing in grayscale to MS XPS document writer, saving the XPS file, then printing the XPS file. But that's clunky.

It's an old problem - someone must have solved it.

Answer:PowerPoint 2010 not printing Grayscale

If you are happy with modding the registry try this:

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\PowerPoint

Create a DWord IgnoreDevModeColor

Set the value to 1

My wife's notebook, a HP G71-340 US with Windows 7 Home Premium, cannot open Powerpoint attachments of emails on Windows Live Mail. When trying to open the attachment (PPS File), one gets a message " PPTVIEW.EXE-System Error. The program can't start because MSVCR90.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I repeatedly downloaded and installed PPViewer to no avail. Each time I installed and then deleted. The current and installed download is Powerpoint Viewer 2010. It is installed in C:\Program Files9x86\Microsoft Office

I also downloaded "msvcr90.dll and it is installed in C:\Windows\32, where I'm told it is supposed to be.

The PPTViewer used to work a few months ago, then this problem.

Any help will be appreciated.

I use two computers to work on PowerPoint presentations. One has 2003, and the other has 2010. Often when I open a presentation on the other computer, the alignment of text changes. I think that in one version, text in a slide that uses bullets aligns to the left of the slide (under the bullet), and in the other version it aligns with the text after the bullet. Is there a way to prevent having to go through and manually tab everything into place when I use the other version?

Answer:PowerPoint 2003 and 2010 text in slides

You didn't say what version of Office was on the Other computer? 2003 or 2010? If you create a presentation in 2010 do you save it as an Office compatible version (97-2003)a .pps instead of a .ppsx? On the 2003 computer you can install the PowerPoint Viewer to see if that helps
Microsoft wants you to upgrade all your computer to at least Office 2007, soon all files created in newer versions of Office will not be readable in older versions of Office.

I have created a presentation that has been saved as a slide show. The videos will not play in the viewer (Powerpoint Viewer 2010). I have tried linking and embedding the videos. They play several seconds then stop. I have also tried embedding Windows Media Play but it does not run at all. Does anyone have any ideas that might help? This presentation is part of a 5 day class which I would like the videos available thru the presentation.

Note: In the full version of Powerpoint 2010 everything appears to work fine. The computers in the classroom only have the view software.

Is there a way to launch a media play externally that could play the videos? That is without stopping the presentation.

Answer:Powerpoint viewer 2010 will not play videos

I had a similar problem recently.

A trainer friend gets PowerPoint presentations from his head office, and has to present them on his laptop, or whatever PCs are available at client premises.
On a machine with PowerPoint 2010 installed, the presentation worked fine, and attached video files played correctly when located in the same folder as the PPT file.

Not everyone wants to pay for the full version of Microsoft Office, just to view PowerPoint presentations.
But when he downloaded the latest free PowerPoint Viewer from Microsoft and installed on these machines, running either Windows 7 or Windows 8, the slides would present okay, but the videos would not play!
This was a major problem.

On a hunch, I found a copy of the 2003 version of PowerPoint Viewer, and installed it on these machines.
And I found that this one works perfectly!! plays the videos and presents the slides no problem!
Even though the PPT was created using PowerPoint 2010.

And the PowerPoint Viewer 2003 installer was only a 1.9MB download, compared to the latest PowerPoint Viewer 2010 which is a 61MB download and then won't play the videos!!
Well done Microsoft, make the program 30 times bigger and not as good!!

Okay, PowerPoint Viewer 2003 is only a 32bit app, and it hides itself away in the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\PowerPoint Viewer\PPTVIEW.exe

But it works fine on both Windows 7 and Windows 8, including 64 bit versions, and it's not too difficult to set it as the default viewe... Read more

I have MS Office 2010 on a Windows 7 PC. I have used audio in PP's for years. However, I find that PP 2010 will not allow me to add any audio to existing PP's that were created earlier. The ones that I created in the last 2 years, fine. If I create a new one, fine. I have tried everything, but it will not work. Is this supposed to be the case? Older PP's (and I'm talking "older" in the sense of PP's that were mainly created with my older version of PP 2002) cannot have audio added to them?

Thanks for any feedback on this; I've wasted a lot of time trying to do this.

win 7, 2010 powerpoint cutting in and out only when attached to projector. Cuts out then right back on during presentation. Seems to only do it when hooked to a projector. Have used various projectors with same problem. Have tried updating drivers but the problem continues. Have updated Microsoft office but no change.

Answer:2010 powerpoint cutting in and out, win 7, when attached to projector.

What do you mean exactly? Do you mean that it reverts back to display only on the computer, even for a few seconds? Are you using Powerpoint in dual-screen presenter's mode (full screen on the projector, image, comments and next slides on the main screen)? Are you displaying movies or playing sounds when problems happens?

1. Until you talked of various projectors, I thought it was a problem on that end. But are you using the same cable (or cable extension / adapter) to link your computer to the projector? If so, I suspect the problem would lie in the cable. In our office, we had many projection problems with travelling personnel (on-and-off projector, weird colours, etc.), and in all cases but one it was a faulty cable. If you are always using different cables (and no dongle / adapter of your own), then it might be your output port. If you have the choice between VGA port and HDMI or display port, try to connect a projector using the other port to see if it works reliably.

2. If you have intermittent problem, Powerpoint's presenter's mode doesn't help because you not only have to deal with hardware problem but with the quirky reaction of Powerpoint. Using the normal mode with both displays showing the same thing would help a bit go around the problem.

3. I have noticed that Powerpoint sometimes has problems dealing with too large or too complex videos. What "too complex" means depends on a combination of factors like how much RAM, your computer speed... I would t... Read more

Hey Guys,

We have an issue where people are looking at PP presentations in 2013 and getting the error message or a big X in it, but if you open the presentation in 2010 it looks perfect, no errors or X's. I tried the disable hardware acceleration option, and opening a new PP and inserting and same deal. The quick workaround I found was that if I open the image in paint and than save it as a jpeg (which is already was) then I can insert it or drag and drop it. The files are on our network, and even when I re-saved them they were still on the network. Has anybody else seen this issue? By the way we are on Windows 7, plenty of memory, and SP1 (15.0.4569.1504). Any help would be much appreciated as I am flabbergasted (sp?) by this issue, thanks guys.

I am trying to edit audio files on PowerPoint 2010. I have added some music files. When I select the play icon and try to edit the file these tools are greyed out. I cannot use them at all. The reason is possibly because I do not have an upgraded version of PowerPoint.

After searching Microsoft I found information which states some versions won't work because I need to install Desktop Experience. I tried to follow the instructions but I cannot find the installation feature. The instructions do not seem to work.

Should I try another way, if so, what is recommended? Sure this must be a very common problem when Powerpoint is bundled in MS Works because they just stick a basic version in.

Thanks for any tips anyway!

Hi there,

In both 2007 & 2010 version of MS powerpoint, the table colour options that show up seem completely arbitrary ( Table Tools > Table styles)
I usually get the default gray, plain, the ghastly green & blue. But in other slide designs, colour choices changes ie in a slide design with say, brown-white theme, I get suddenly lovely shades of brown to play with. What gives? Am I a prisoner of MS design whims?

Is there anyway to get all the different choices available?

Well I am finally back after a self imposed 5 months absence due to illness.

A bit of background to this thread for newcomers to MG

Each day Major Attitude (MA), with help from Corporal Punishment(CP), review the latest programs and updates they receive at MG. The best of which they publish on (quote) www.majorgeeks.com (/quote) front page.

I go through their selections and select 3-4 programs that I think maybe of interest to MG readers to whet the readers interests. There is not much rhyme or reason behind my selections as I usually don't try my selections. I just list them. . Ratings shown are MG members ratings as a guide. They are out of a maximum rating of 5. It is sometimes interesting to compare the number of downloads to the number of MG members who take the effort to vote after using their selected program/s.

I also toss in a bit of humour occasionally to lighten the mood, taken from the Off Base and Way Off base submissions of that day.

Hi everyone,

I was attending a presentation recently and noticed that the presenter's laptop did not display the same thing as the projector (i.e. the current slide), but instead showed a box containing the current slide (i.e. what the audience saw), another box with the next slide, and the timing of the current slide and of total presentation.

I think being able to preview your next slide before making it visible to the audience can be very helpful when giving a presentation, and I would like to ask if anyone knows if (and how) this can be done in PowerPoint 2010. The presenter I saw had a Mac so he was probably using Keynote to deliver his presentation, however hopefully this can be accomplished in PowerPoint as well.

Many thanks in advance for any help!
(I also posted this question on these two other forums: 1, 2)

I am a Special Education Para pro who is designing a Power point to train students with autism how to communicate with others appropriately. My Power point has embedded audio that plays while they see a picture of someone they know greeting them. I also have audio that plays when they click on the answer to a question asking the appropriate response. What I am wanting to do is this:

1. have the students record an audio response (during slide show) to the audio they hear
2. save audio file to play back later in slide show
3. play back the audio recordings made during the slide show in order with the embedded audio I insert

The purpose of the Powerpoint is to create a conversation simulator of sorts where the student can record their own voice in response to embedded audio I created in the slide show. At the end of a couple of slides they would hear the audio I embedded as well as their portion of the conversation they recorded as they watched the slide show.

Is this possible and how can I do it.

When inserting any audio clip on a T420 Thinkpad in Powerpoint 2010 , the computer will take a long time to insert the file. This same process on a T420s it does the same, and if I do the same process on a Lenovo Thinkpad X200 it takes five seconds. Any Ideas

Hey there guys,

I'm hoping someone here would be able to help me with a problem I am having with Powerpoint 2010 which is continuously correcting all the transition times I set to 1 sec, rather than the 2.5 or 1.5 seconds I set for particular slides. I have already gone through this at least 7 times trying to correct this problem, but it seems Powerpoint has a mind of its own. I have ensured to save each time I make a change to ensure it is properly updated, but everytime I close and reopen, the transition times are reset.

Could someone please help me because I have a presentation to give, and the 1 second transition is too quick as I move from the white background to a black frame which holds a video.

Thanks for your input people.

Hello fellas, just today I was working on a presentation on PowerPoint 2010, and out of nowhere my screen starts changing colors just like when you change a theme, and not just the colors but also the graphics and all the fonts are now all messed up. I included a couple of pics. I tried the next:

- First I tried to change theme, change color depth and restart, and checked the cables to no luck
- I used an option on TuneUp Utilites that says it repairs the icons cache and display
- Next, I used the PC without the video card which uses DVI to VGA adapter
- I used another monitor, it's exactly the same. I even linked the two monitors on dual display but both displays are equally messed up
- I reinstalled the video drivers, I even used Driver Genius just to be sure they are the right ones

As you can see, my monitors, video card and cables are just fine. The BIOS and the Windows start screens colors and graphics are fine. I tried everything I know, so I humbly request your assistance, any kind of help is greatly appreciated.

And Execute SFC.EXE /SCANNOW for starters. Let us know if it found any corruptions, and upload the log please.

Add Or Embed YouTube Videos In PowerPoint 2010
.
.

Quote:
There are two ways to embed YouTube videos - Using Video From Online Video Site option and Using 3rd party add-in called authorStream.

Method 1: Using ?Video From Online Video Site? Option

This is the quickest way of embedding YouTube videos in PowerPoint presentation. With this option you can easily add YouTube videos and give presentation as long as it is not uploaded online. In order words, the embedded YouTube video will be lost if you upload the PowerPoint online.
To embed videos using this method, go to Insert, click Video and select Video from online video site option.

This will open a new window where you have to add the embed code. After you have added the code, click Insert.

You can now resize the inserted video and customize it however you like. Remember that it will only load during the slideshow. To test the video, run the slideshow(hit F5) and then click Play when the video is loaded.

Method 2: Using authorStream Powerpoint Add-In

Like I mentioned before, if you upload the slideshow for online viewing using the above method, the embedded videos will be lost. So authorStream makes sure that the embeded videos are not lost.

Once you have installed it, it will add a new authorStream tab in PowerPoint. Select this tab and then click Insert by URL. Now add the YouTube video URL, hit Preview, and then click Ins... Read more

Hello everyone! I'm using MS PowerPoint 2010. Today I opened my .pptx file and saw message in Powerpoint: Part of the file is missing. Anyone know any possibilities to recover it?Maybe someone have come across a situation like this? Thanks an advance

Answer:Message in Powerpoint 2010: Part of the file is missing.

Not easy, especially as pptx files are compressed. Maybe a de-compressor program would help as a first step, although most of them appear to be for Mac's. Could be worth copying the file to see if it opens on another computer which has Office 2007 onwards. As you say, maybe someone has first hand experience of this issue.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I wanted to view a presentation on CD but a message box came up saying "the presentation requires Power Point Viewer 2010...do you want to download it?". Does this mean it wants to download the viewer into memory? I don't want to download it to the hard drive because I currently have Office 2002 on the computer in question and I don't want to foul up that install with something from 2010. The PC in question is old and 2010 would not run on it anyway. I was just wondering if you can use the viewer and not leave any 2010 components behind in the process. Thanks.

Answer:Download PowerPoint Viewer 2010 to view presentation on a CD

You can safely install Powerpoint Viewer 2010 without issue or confliction with older versions of office. It will not run out of memory and will want to install the application to your workstation. Download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...www.standby-it.com

Occasionally you need to check spelling in an application that does not include a spelling checker and you don't want to launch your word processor just for that. This is when tinySpell becomes handy. It is a small utility that allows you to easily and quickly check and correct the spelling in any Windows application.

tinySpell can watch your typing on the fly and alert you whenever it detects a misspelled word. It can also check the spelling of text that you copy to the clipboard.

Real Temp 3.60
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Real_Temp_d6098.html

Real Temp is a temperature monitoring program designed for all Intel single Core, Dual Core, Quad Core and Core i7 processors. Each core on these processors has a digital thermal sensor (DTS) that reports temperature data relative to TJMax which is the safe maximum operating core temperature for the CPU. As your CPU heats up, your Distance to TJMax will decrease. If it reaches zero, your processor will start to thermal throttle or slow down so maximizing your distance away from TJMax will help your computer run at full speed and more reliably too.

I have circular cropped some images in Microsoft Picture It Photo 7 and saved them as JPEGS. I now want to put them into a Powerpoint presentation. Trouble is when I do, I get a lovely round image as I desire, but it is surrounded by the square white area. This looks awful against the PowerPoint background. Is there any way just to get the pic. itself without its white background?PS. Hope that's clear!!

Answer:Image Problem in PowerPoint

Very clear :-}I think that what you need to do is save them with a transparent background if that is possible... I'm not sure of how but am convinced that photoshop will be able to do it.

I have a PP presentation with images of documents (rather than the text) and I want to be able to zoom in on portions of it like you could do with any image editor. Problem is I can't figure out how to do it in a PP presentation. Anyone know how?

Answer:Zooming in on Powerpoint Image

why not make seperate slides with it zoomed in - then as you xfer it look like you are zooming in.

heres a free image editor
www.infranview.com - you can edit the picture
