Can't un-install Office trial, Can't install Outlook 2007..

Question: Can't un-install Office trial, Can't install Outlook 2007..

Hi all,

A newbie here, and so glad I have found this forum as I have spent most of the day trying to solve this issue..no to avail!

It might be easier if I explain my issue in bullet points as I am really not a techincal person and have gone round in many circles so far. I am trying to set up my own website and hosting and so far so good..until today!

1. About 2 years ago installed Office Prof 2007
2. Never uninstalled when trial ended - have old email address with this trial
3. Ever since then outlook has never worked and every time I have accidently hit on an email link an error message would come up which mentioned my personal folders/archives and pst files...(cannot retrieve error msg now as I have played around so much today!)

4. Today bought email hosting and got free outlook 2007 with it
5. tried to install outlook 2007 and got the following msg half way through installation:

Error 1406.Setup cannot write the value to the registry key xxx
Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the registry or contact Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) for assistance. For information about how to contact PSS, seeC:\Users\CLAIRA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup00001e88\PSS10R.CHM.

6. clicked ignore and carried on - it seemed to work!
7. Followed the step by step guide on how to connect outlook to my exchange email..got very close to the end and it said that outlook had to be online to complete...and I just kept getting error msg after error msg
8. I struggle back and forth but eventually just could not work out why it would not work- and in fact my old email address from 2 years ago kept coming up, which I really do not want.

9. I uninstalled office trial and uninstalled outlook 2007
10. then accidently uninstalled my office student and home! (which freaked me out as i lost word, excel etc etc!!)
11. so did a system restore
12. back to square one
13. tried to uninstall trial office professional again, and it now says it cannot because file is corrupted. (I am not even sure if this is why my outlook 2007 wont compelte anyway, just suggesstions i have seen on forums)
14. Not convinced my outlook is installed properly - maybe half way there as the profiles come up I created earlier..
15. Now I have uninstalled outlook 2007

This has been my day today..and feeling like I am in way over my head and would be so grateful of any support or advice.

Thanks in anticipation!
Clair

Preferred Solution: Can't un-install Office trial, Can't install Outlook 2007..

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I currently have Office 2003 Pro and use Outlook 2003. I downloaded the 2010 Pro trial version so I could look at Outlook and Word. However, as it turns out, Outlook 2010 will not install if there is a previous version of Outlook installed.

How can someone evaluate if it won't install? All the other 2010 applications install with the Office 2003 applications.

I don't want to uninstall Outlook 2003 as I maintain several mailing lists for a club. It would be a task getting all this recreated in a new version - just so I could try it.

Answer:Office 2010 Trial - Outlook will not install

Only outlook doesnt sit with the older version..all other programs can be installed as new by changing the location where 2010 wants to get installed.

AFAIK, no changes will take place when you install outlook 2010 over 2007. All email, accounts, rules and contacts remain unchanged. I have personally tried this. But I am not sure about 2003 version.

I can suggest you try Outlook 2010 in a virtual machine and then decide whether to go for it or not.

I upgraded Outlook 2007 to 2010. I did this via purchasing a new seat of 2007 to get the upgrade last week for free.

Please bear with me but with Office Pro 2007, inclusive of Outlook already installed, I found the only way to activate the upgradable new seat of Outlook 2007 (required of course for the upgrade to 2010) was to remove Office Pro 2007 (and its Outlook 2007), then install and activate the new upgradable seat of Outlook 2007.

Anyway, Outlook 2010 is up and running, but I of course need the other 2007 applications back

My question Lord willing is simple, when I put the Office Pro 2007 disk in, will it ask me if I want to install it's 2007 version of Outlook over Outlook 2010, or will it just do it(!)...?

You want to do a "custom" install of office 2007, just uncheck "outlook" and install whatever else you want. You can only have one installed copy of outlook at a time.

I just obtained an A55 ThinkCenter which had a 60-day trial of MS Office installed. I had no need nor wanted Office 2007.  Tried to install MS Word 2000. It installed without any problems, but it would not open completely and remained hung up. I used the Control Panel to uninstall MS Office 2007 and then MS Word 2000 worked. After I uninstalled Office I noticed that there were remnants of Office still installed. Does anyone know of a safe way to remove the rest of that Office Stuff? I also have another problem caused by that Office trial installation. When I receive Emails with PowerPoint attachments they cannot be opened in OutLook Express. I get an error message saying that it does not recognize the extension, yet outside of Outlook the attachments are opened with the PowerPoint Viewer. Anybody know what I have to do to get those attachments to open in Outlook Express?

Answer:Trial Office 2007 Blocks MS Word 2000 and PowerPoint Attachments in Outlook Express

Maybe this will put you back on track? It's for the 2007 beta, but should not be far off the official release.

I am wondering, I bought a 3 licence NAV 2007 as we have 2 computers that run out imminently and we just bought our daughter a new notebook.

The notebook she can have for 14 days trial to see if there are any issues that she does not like.

I am no Techie and wonder about whether I should install her NAV 2007 and I think that I have to register it to get updates and then if she returns it what happens to this version that we register.

Since my retirement, I am not with the techie at the office who used to advise on this. And I don't want to lose out on a license for her notebook if she is dissatisfied.

I guess the key is, does NAV require Registration to get updates, and my hazy memory of years past seem to make me think it needs registration and then as I mentioned if she returns the notebook b/c she does not like it; I will be up the creek with an empty pocket???

I would appreciate experienced members comments.
Thankyou.
Kindest Regards............( a nerd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I apologize!!

I had a run-in with MS Office 2007 that ended up (my bad I'm sure) necessitating a repair install of Windows 7 (64 bit) after a complete uninstall of Office. The Windows repair went well with the exception of a couple of drivers; easily adjusted.

Then I did a clean install of Office 2007. It sort of went well. Except that every time I try to do something with it (like accessing Visual Basic to put my macros back in), it's telling me - incessantly - that files don't have sufficient permission blah, blah. Well, I'm setting the permissions but it's over and over and feels like every file in "Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/..." needs permission attention.

Is there ANY way to avoid doing this over and over and over and...? And could I have avoided this by setting something different in one of the installs?

Sigh.

Thanks as always for the help.

Can I run the trial for office 2007 and keep my 2003 stuff loaded and running? My life's in OneNote 2003, which I have the full version of(2 copies, actually), but my trial for all the other office things *just* expired, and I've got a giant paper due in 2 weeks. Which is now read-only. I can't figure out what I need to do in Oo.o in regards to headers and formatting. Which is the main reason I'm currently in a state of panic!

Do you have to get rid of 2003 to use 2007?

Edit: I'd like to hold off on buying 2007 until after the end of the semester, because I need to turn my tablet in for some pretty crazy repairs. And I'm debating the merits of switching to vista while all that's being changed around in the meantime. So I'd like to wait on buying until after I decide if Vista's gonna work for me.

Answer:Office 2007 trial question (My 2003 trial just expired!)

Hi there,

I'm not sure about the trial version, but with the whole version (which I understand the trial version to be, only with a countdown limit on it) you can install over 2003 and keep both versions. The only thing you cannot do this with is Outlook (you are only allowed one of those programs/versions at a time). There are some other minor issues, but for the most part, all can run together fairly well. I have 2003 and 2007 installed on my main hdd partition.

So when your 2007 trial is up, you can uninstall it, but will need to reinstall Outlook. It would probably be better to reinstall everything anyways. You may have issues with normal.dotx or personal.xlsb, etc.

Answer:tried to install ms office 2010 trial

With MicroXP I think you may be pushing it too far expecting Office 2010 to install on it, and you haven't said how much RAM your PC has. Probably not very much if you're using MicroXP, and Office 2010 Setup probably needs more than your PC has.Either that or it's detected that you're using an unofficial version of Windows, so it's aborted.

A trial version of Office 2007 came with my new laptop. The trial expired. I found a fair deal online for the Small Business version and received the package with discs today. I've created many files with the trial version. When I install the new version, will I KEEP or will I LOSE the files I've already have created (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)? I suspect the installation won't affect the previously created files, but I'd like my confidence to be bolstered by the voice of authority gained from true experience. Is that you? Please put my mind at ease...hopefully today. I have a trip tomorrow.

Answer:Solved: Install Office'07 over Trial version. Lose files??

Shouldn't be a problem. I guess the slight chance exists if you saved them in the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office" folder, but that would be a ridiculous place to save them. Even if they are there...I doubt they would get deleted unless you manually deleted that folder.

HI all,

Really need help with this pretty fast. Im applying for a job and have had the application form emailed to me in .doc format.
Normally this wouldnt bee a problem as id just open it up in Open Office and away I go BUT this file came through all overlapped and I wont let me change it.

So I tried to download the Office 2010 trial from the MS website and it wouldnt install, got 3 seconds in and went wrong, tried it 4 or 5 time again and the same. Then I tried windows update and that wont work either, it comes up with an error.

Ive now tried to install Word Viewer and it also wont install??

Ive installed another couple of programs tonight to test and they installed fine!! Its just the MS programs that wont.

Any one have an idea of what might be causing this??

Thanks
Nick

I recently purchased a HP 530 laptop for our soccer club that came pre installed with Vista. During use of outlook, Excel etc it came up with a message asking for activation key & that we had 20 uses left to enter it (I presumed this was a trial version & activation code to be purchased). After 5-10 uses I decided to install Office 97 which I still had lying around from an old PC. This installed OK but the message was still appearing.

I then uninstalled Office 97 via add/remove programs & then did likewise for anything that mentioned office 2007 (I didn't do the actual uninstalling but am advised there were 4-6 office 2007 variants uninstalled). I then went to load office 97 back in but no go. It goes through the usual install process, enter key, select location to load (prog files/microsoft office) & then select type of install required (typical) & then the features (have selected all & just the basic office install).

Then it goes to the actual install process but just sits there with the bluey/green coloured screen with Microsoft Office 97 written at the top but goes no further.

I have checked add remove programs again & no mentions of office are listed.

I have followed the following fix I was advised about -

Hi Folks,

The title of the thread says it all really.

I have legitimate copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate on my PC. I have just bought a copy of Office 2016 Professional Plus through the HUP.

I haven't installed Office 2016 yet - I use Office 2010 at work and find using Custom Animations in PowerPoint tricky compared to Office 2007.

I'd like to install Office 2016 alongside Office 2007 until I have tried Office 2016 to see if the Custom Animations in PP are easier than the 2010 version before switching completely.

My question is, can I install Office 2016 alongside Office 2007 without conflicts - switching between versions without a problem or will installing Office 2016 screw Office 2007 or worse FUBAR both Office installations or my PC.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers,

Zaph

Current Office Pro 2003 user. Saved .pst files and used registered MS disc to load Office 2007 SB. Sucess except for Outlook with message "The operation failed due to an installation problem. Reinstall Outlook and try again. If problem persists, please reinstall".
Tried all disc options of reinstall, repair, add, etc. to no avail. (Outlook is displayed on Add/Delete with red cross!) Aware MS Technet states "Office Outlook 2007 cannot coexist with previous version of Outlook on the same computer". Removed outlook.exe (2003) but still no advance. Cannot see how to remove Outlook 2003 in totality.
Reason for buying Office 2007 was to try and avoid frequent crashes of Outlook 2003.

Before I delete Office Pro 2003 and try a virgin installation, of Office 2007 SB, your advice, please, Bellini.

I'm on Windows XP w/SP2. It had Office 2003. I've had my computer since 2004.
Before I installed Office 2007, Office '03 worked fine. Then I needed '07 for a college class and installed a trial. Office '07 worked fine, but the MS Word shortcut in my quicklaunch bar pointed to Word '03 still. Whenever I'd hit it by accident, it would try to install Office '03("Please wait while Windows Configures Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003). I canceled it on the second screen and it worked anyway.

The second screen had this:
Installation Error: File not Found

A required installation file SKU1E3.CAB could not be found.

Before, I'd hit cancel and MS Word '03 would get to working anyway. Then I'd close it and go into Word 07. I think there was some error message, but I don't remember it. Now, I just uninstalled an Office '07 trial. The same thing is happening again, but now when I hit cancel, it says "fatal error during installation." It's a different error message from the one I got last time.

I really need help here. I've got homework due tomorrow for some online classes, and need Word to do it.

I tried going into control panel > Add/Remove Programs > Office '03 and clicking change to do the repair thing, but it led to the same problem.

If it doesn't help, I think You have to check the integrity of the installation files - see if you can install the same distributive on the other PC for example.

Apologies if I have placed this in the wrong area of the forum but the problem always seems to crop up when I am using Outlook, possibly as that is the first program I run after switching on!

I have recently bought a new Windows 7 PC and I installed my own copy of Office 2003 on it although I believe the PC came with a year's trial of Office 2007 Home/Student. Each time I run Outlook 2003 to check for email, Windows tries to install Office 2007 automatically (see screenshot). How can I stop this happening each time as I don't want the installation.

Answer:New PC trying to install Office 2007

Go into Control Panel, Programs and Features and uninstall the trial version of Ms Office.

The hard drive in my PC died on me last week. I've replaced it and started installing windows on the new drive which is going fine. I have a licence key for MS Office 2007 Small Business Edition but no CD, just a card with the licence no. on it. How can I install this product without a CD?

I thought I could download the trial version from MS and enter the key, but I can only find downloads for office 2010.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I tried to download a new Trial over it and got message "controller could not install, check log records"

I see on line in chat rooms that this has happened often, but no help from Microsoft on what to do.

Any thoughts out there? thanks.

I reloaded my laptop several month's ago. I like cleaning my machine when I get a bunch of programs I try out etc... I hadn't tried to reload the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 version because I hadn't needed it until now for a project I am working on.

I put it in the drive and it just makes that noise like it is spinning up. So I tried MS Office on another laptop and it came up fine to install, (was just checking the disk was alright), and I also put my Microsoft Flight Simulator in my CD drive and it came up fine to install. What could be the problem since I know my drive is working and the MS Office CD is working?

Also, when I tried clicking on the CD drive through the Computer window it ejects the disk and has a statement like a disk was never in the drive.

Is it possible I disabled that auto play thing? But if I had when I was messing around with Windows 7 Ultimate why would the MS Flight SImulator CD work?

Confused in laptop land! And thanks for your help!

Answer:MS Office 2007 won't install!

Have you tried to clean off the disk? Or your cd drive could be dirty and not recognize the disk.

Can we assume that other cd's read properly.

I had Office 2000 Pro on my desk top computer, went to Ireland for a month, wifes cousin was on holidays from Ireland and looked after the office for us.

She had a problem of some kind with Office and decided to remove and reinstall for some reason, my son couldn't find the original disks and the cousins boyfriend installed a copy of Office 2007 Enterprise on the computer thinking he was doing a good thing but it wasn't a legal copy, after a couple of weeks I got a MS message that it wasn't a legal copy, so I uninstalled it.

Decided against re-installing 2000 Pro because I was getting used to 2007 look and feel so bought Office 2007 Pro.

The copy I bought ebay was fully sealed, contained 2 x CD's but when I insert disk 1 autorun doesn't run so the install doesn't even start.

Any advice would be appreciated...thanks in advance.

I have had this rig going since about July first, but using mostly XP 32 because of virus concerns, and it took me this long to get my Linksys wireless card to work on Vista x64.

So i have only used Vista x64 occassionally, i like the increase in speed, and not sure about Office 2007 (i assemble lots of large databases in the Access world) install. . . anyone with any experience?

also, not sure about the virus / malware threats to V x64. . . any comments?

Virus/Malware threats to Vista X64 ? they r pretty much the same as with previous versions.

Hi. I am not able to install office 2007 from the disc I purchased from microsoft and am not sure this is a disc problem.

When I load the disc into the drive, the green indicator light comes on, the drive weirs once, and then stops. If I search for the disc through computers> D drive> open, the file is blank. If I try to run it through run> d://, I get a message saying to insert a disc in the drive.

I can play a music CD on the drive, but it will not run by itself, I had to go into media player to run it. If I go into computers> D drive> open, I get a message saying "this file does not have a program associated with it. for performing this action create an association in the folder options control panel" (and I have no idea how to do this...).

the last time my d drive worked properly was yesterday when I uploaded a picture from my personal cd to a website.

I've tried running winsock fix as well and just scanned my computer yesterday for spyware and viruses and am clean.

I have windows XP os and have no idea what my d drive is.

would appreciate any help,
db

I have a HP Compaq CQ5210F, win 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit OS.I had accidently deleted a user account (thats another problem for later) I need to know how to get the 25 digit Key code, so i can re-registar it & be able to use it. I drespreatly needs this for my work & cannot afford to go out a buy a new office. I tried calling MS Support & they tried to help, with no luck. They said it's because the MS Office 2007 came pre-installed on it from HP. PLEASE HELP ME ASAPAnd thanks in advance.

Answer:Had To Re-install MS Office 2007

Hello, Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome! I am afraid there is no official way to get the 25 digit code (licence code) for Microsoft Office. This is a licence code that the user/owner needs to keep. I am not familiar with a procedure that vendor like HP to install full edition of Microsoft office on computers that came preinstalled with Office. What you probably used to have was Microsoft Office trial edition or some demo edition with limited functionality.  Could you elaborated on few things: - what it was before - where you got this Office from and how it worked before? - you write "Had To Re-install MS Office 2007" - where you got the installation ISO/media from ? - please elaborate on that "later thing" about deleting user account - what exactly you did and what caused Office to stop working that now requires licence key - it may be connected to this issue. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Question: Office 2007 Trial

I am using Windows 7. The laptop came with Microsoft Works and a 60 day trial of Office 2007. I opened a Word 2003 doc (from my memory stick) and it automatically opened in Word 2007 in compatibility mode. Does this mean I have begun my 60 day trial of Office 2007? It asked for a product key but said I didn't have to enter one and opened anyway. I am happy to go on using Word 2007 with only the old features to edit 2003 docs and save them as 2003 if it will allow me to do so. My previous laptop, which also had a trial, claimed it would only open 20 times. Do I have the same issue here? (The old one had Office 2003 so I never had to use the trial). Look forward to hearing from other users.

Answer:Office 2007 Trial

I haven't got a clue but you can bet your bottom dollar Word 2007 will cease to operate in 30 days time unless you pay for it.

Either cough up for Microsoft's bloatware or uninstall all of MS Office and install Open Office which is free and recognises Word and Excel files from any version of MS Office.

Hi - when I get my Vista laptop, it came with a 60 day trial of Office 2007 which I activated. I then bought the boxed version which was available at a reduced price with the new laptop, entered the relevant key and thought that was that.I'm now getting a message to say that the trial period ends today - am I going to have problems? I would have thought that the registration key would have been recognised. Thanks

Answer:MS Office 2007 trial

It seems that the trial version is still installed in the Laptop and its entries in the registry are now causing it to expire. I assume you didn't uninstall the trial version before installing the "boxed" copy? Uninstall Office 2007 from "Control Panel > Programs and Features" and then install it from the full version installation disk. Any documents that you've created shouldn't be affected by this.

Although I went through the installation process just fine, I can't open Excel, Powerpoint, or Access. When I attempt to, I get a "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file...etc" error. This despite the fact that Word seems to work just fine (I didn't install any of the other office 2007 apps, so I'm not sure if they would work...)

Is this simply because I installed it to a different drive? It's not actually on a physically separate hard drive, it's just a different partition...

I am thinking of "Upgrading" from Office 2000 to Office 2007. I notice that 2007 no longer includes Frontpage. Does anyone know if the install will allow me to keep Frontpage or failing that to install Frontpage from the Office 2000 disk?

Answer:Install Frontpage with Office 2007?

which is why it's no longer available as a standalone application. Office 2007 uses a different default file-type to other Office versions, but I see no reason why you shouldn't install FrontPage 2000 separately. It might be better to try to get hold of a copy of FrontPage 2003, which is a far better version that the one you have.

Hi everyone, I'd really appreciate some help.

I just replaced my 10-year-old PC and am trying to install Office Home and Student 2007 on my new Vista 64 machine. Unfortunately, whether I use the autorun or manually double-click setup.exe on the disc, nothing happens. I get an hourglass briefly, the disc spins in the drive, and setup.exe appears in the task manager for about three seconds then disappears. Nothing else happens.

I've downloaded every available update from Microsoft. I'm logged in as an administrator, I've tried to right-click on setup.exe and select run as admin from there, I've tried changing compatibility mode to XP SP2, and nothing seems to work.

I've been searching online for awhile now and can't find anything with regard to this issue. Has anyone seen this before? Or, can anyone give me some suggestions? I didn't anticipate any problems because I read in many places that Office 2007 runs fine on Vista 64, so I uninstalled Works and the free 60-day Office trial from my new PC before I tried to install the full version of Office to avoid conflicts. Unfortunately, I don't have access to Word or Excel now, and it's going to be a problem.

Help! Thanks in advance.

Hello .....I am looking to install Office 2007 Pro Plus at my company and need to do this as efficiently as possible. I have about 60 users as well as 25 servers. I would like to do this through Active Directory, but I'm not quite sure how to do the push via a script. I have installed it on my machine and a virtual server that a few people are testing for functionality with other applications. After that I will need to do the push.....maybe a week from now.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how I might get this started? I don't really want to do the install on every machine manually.

Thanks for any help!!

Mike

Answer:Office 2007 Install Script

have you ever deployed software with GP before?
It's a pretty extensive topic, but once figured out it can save a LOT of time.
Do a few searches for deploying software with group policy. that should get you on the right track.

XP Pro SP2; Office 2007 Home/Student Edition full retail disc. Shortly after entering the product key, the progress indicator bar gets up to maybe a half inch in length, it sits for a second or two, then goes backward and Office says "Setup encountered an error during installation and could not continue." And that's it. No info, no link to click on, no error code, nothing. I attached a screen shot of the event viewer if that helps. Here's what has been done on this PC so far:
When the owner brought it to me, he had completely messed up the file associations for everything; when I tried to open drive C: the Windows search dialog would open; when I tried to open a regular folder the OneNote application would open; something called "Solution Center" ands something called "Status" were messed up in the MSinstaller so I used the cleanup tool to fix those; the wallpaper was messed up and (in low-color 8 bit mode when a picture was there, otherwise it was just blank white) when I'd right click the background, Internet Exloprer would open, it was like the desktop wallpaper had been assigned to a web site, well, it was, and I fixed that. I ran SFC, Dial-A-Fix, MSInstaller CleanUp, and I manually reset all the file associations. Office was installed but completely corrupt and couldn't be uninstalled by using normal methods, and couldn't be re-installed by normal methods. I had to use Revo and CCleaner and manual file removal to co... Read more

Hi everyone! Well, I?ve just installed my Windows 7. Everything looks fine and cool, BUT now i cannot install Office 2007.

When I try to open the DVD it displays a dialog box stating "You must be an administrator to install Office 2007" What the bloody hell?. BUT I AM the administrator and, curiously, I haven?t any problems installing other programs, ONLY WITH Office 2007.

Please, if someone could help, I?d be really thankfull to him/her. Thank you so much in advance.

Answer:Cannot install Office 2007 on Windows 7

You're not an administrator or it would not be giving that error message. Right click on the setup.exe, properties, compatibility tab - run as admin.

Answer:Office 2007 standard will not install

Hi there

At what point did you get the error? Its possible you have corrupted data on the cd, or that theres something physically wrong with it. If you bought the program from a store, have them replace it for you, saying what i said. If you didnt buy it, we cannot help you, as per the forum rules.

I have a valid VL product key.  I can't seem to find a support page for this and all the links keep taking me to a page that doesn't apply. Any help please.

Answer:Not able to install Microsoft office 2007

I think it is saying you already have a Version of Office Installed. Is this a new computer? Chances are it came with a trial version of office. Uninstall the trial version first then install the full version.

HiI have dual boot Vista and XP (with Vista preinstalled). I tried to install Office 2007 from CD on the XP partition but I got the ?license key incorrect message? when I know it is correct. I?ve done some research and understand that it?s some sort of conflict with the preinstalled Office 2007 on Vista.Do I now have to uninstall Office from Vista and then use the installation CD to out it back on Vista and XP? Is that the way to do it?Many thanks for your time.

I recently had to wipe my laptop and start over. I had been using a fully paid license (thru my old company) of Office 7 Pro Plus edition before the wipe.

I have the key code and product id, but no CD to reinstall.

If I go to MS Office online to find Office 2007 the only option I can find is for Office 10 products or the Office 2007 updates (ie SP1) -- but not the actual product download.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Need to re-install Office 2007 Pro Plus edition w/out a CD.. but where

I don't know if this will help, but . . . When I bought Word2010, it was brand new still in the box. MS refused to recognize the registry key on the package and I had to argue with them. I finally got a new registry key.

Try contacting their Customer Service and explain the situation. It should be easy because you have the registry key.

Good luck!

There does not seem to be a problem either with the DVD drive or with the actual installation discs; the program installed happily on my other Wiindows XP PC, and the DVD drive seems to be able to read other installation discs satisfactorily.

I am getting rather desperate!

i uninstalled office 2007 which i had purchased and downloaded from Microsoft on 11/6/2009. outlook was giving me particular trouble - wouldn't open quickly, when it did, it was stuck and "not responding". had to close it via task manager. word, excel were fine. Now i need to re-install Office 2007. Where/how can I do that?

I have the copy of my online invoice showing product key but have no idea where to go to re-download the software. the original email sent to me with info is no longer on the mail server.

running xp pro, removed office 2003, also running blackberry desktop mgr. but not syncing email with blackberry via outlook, had add-ins for ACT database manager that communicated with outlook & linked-in.

All ran fine for about 3 weeks, then poof, I'm out of business!

argh!!!!!! really appreciate any help with specifics!

I had my MS Office installed, but every time I would launch any of the programs it would have to configure it's settings. This was highly annoying, so I looked around online and downloaded and ran three things to try to solve it, all from Microsoft's website.

1. windows installer cleanup utility - office 2000,xp,2003 (msicuu2.exe)

Tried to launch Word, only to have the same problem. So Next I tried:

2. The 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2) (office2007sp2-kb953195-fullfile-en-us.exe)

When neither of these fixed the problem, I ran a 3rd tool to uninstall 2007 Office from Microsoft's website.

3. MicrosoftFixit50154 - uninstall office 2007.msi
At this point I was hoping that MS Office was completely gone, and after a shutdown I tried to re-install it hopefully this time when it finished installing it would not have to re-configure itself every time. Even worse!

Now when it is installing, I get this Error:

http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/3...up1sterror.png

If I clicked Ignore on this error, the installation continued and then threw up this error:

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8...up2nderror.png

Ignoring this the installation finished, but I still get the re-configure every time I start up. Any ideas?

Answer:why cant i install microsoft office 2007 in win 7

Hi -

It sounds like a possible issue with the Office 2007 DVD.

Is the Office 2007 DVD a full retail copy, i.e., did you purchase it from a store other than the system manufacturer?
