Outook 2007 or Windows 7 keyboard shortcut, reducing size of display text.

Question: Outook 2007 or Windows 7 keyboard shortcut, reducing size of display text.

Hi all. Irritating & timewasting beyond belief - even for Microsoft - is a hidden shortcut in either Outlook 2007, Office 2007 or perhaps in Windows 7. Centred apparently on the "T" key, a combination of keystrokes reduces the display size of text I type. At enormous waste of time, each occurrence can be remedied, via the View tab in Outlook 2007, then the "zoom" facility. But how do I a) locate the set up instructions for this shortcut, and b) alter or reload them?

I'm a reasonably sensitive typist: this glitch is wasting sooo much of my time. Am in the dire straights of using new Windows 7, with new Office 2007 apps, on a new laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1545.

Advice on shortcut set-up in Outlook 2007, and or in Windows 7 will be much appreciated. Thanks

Preferred Solution: Outook 2007 or Windows 7 keyboard shortcut, reducing size of display text.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

When I moved from XP to Windows 7 with a new PC the builder had trouble adding an old Epson R285 printer. It's now on as ESC/P Standard 2 and I have lost many of the setting controls. It's not been a problem as I only use it to print text, but recently it has been reducing everything to barely readable size - 2 point perhaps.
Suggestions to correct it very welcome.

Answer:Why is my printer reducing the size of all text

Is it reducing the size of the text or the size of the page it's printing

I have had a priblem with display on my HP Spectre 360 since I bought it.  Newest problem:   I just installed Swannview Plus, which works fine on 3 other HP Laptops running the same app.  The window size is very tiny with everything scrunched together and overlapping within the tiny 3" X 2" window.  Every window presented by Swannview Plus is the same size with text too tiny to read and options so overlapping they can't be selected.  A number of other apps have the same problem.

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to reduce the size of the C:\Windows folder without any functionality problems? On the machine I'm currently running windows 7 on it's not a problem, as I've plenty of free space, and the Windows folder is less than 9Gb.

But just to see how 7 will run on an older machine as a little experiment, I guess I could do with more free space as the drive on the old machine is a mere 20Gb! Any ideas?

Answer:Reducing the size of the Windows Folder?

It's a pipe dream.

Depending on exactly how old the hardware is, 7 might not even install (much less run correctly). Finding Win7 drivers for really old hardware is nigh impossible, as well.

If you just want to toy with it, you might want to pick a nice Linux distro to put on there (I like Linux Mint).

But no, making the Windows folder smaller is not going to happen.

You could always put a bigger hard drive in there, but the old hardware is likely not worth the investment.

I just built a new PC with a 120GB SSD and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. The Windows folder size on this machine is about 22.5GB, which seems kind of large to me. I have Windows 7 Pro on a laptop and the Windows folder size is around 12GB. Is there some things I can safely remove from the Ultimate install to free up some room. I'm already using about 2/3 of my new SSD and I need to load a few more applications.

Thanks

Answer:Reducing the WIndows folder size

One wonders why you bought the Ultimate Edition if you now want to shrink it down and remove some of it's unique features which presumably you chose it for? I can't help you there I'm afraid, for fear of "breaking" Windows.

Hi - I want to create a keyboard shortcut that will produce a 55 character text string. For example, when I hit Control + Alt. + Z, I want Windows to insert FJDKSALFJSDAFJAKJFKJSDAKFJKSJAKSAJFKSJAFKSJAKLAJSKFLJSA

I was able to find information about how to create a keyboard shortcut for opening a certain program (i.e. Firefox, Word), but nothing about how to use keyboard shortcuts to insert a 55-character string.

How can I do this?

Hello all

Is there any way of applying the currently selected font color (selected in the ribbon) to a cell using the keyboard only in Excel 2007. I mean in the way that one can make a text bold with ctrl + b. I've searched though lists of keyboard shortcuts and the answer seems to be no because this is not included in those lists but I just wanted to ask if anybody knows for sure whether this can be done.

Thanks in advance.

I had opened hotmail and while replying to a mail, indadvertently I pressed (ctrl)+(shift)+(+) hoping to add a prefix to a number. This has resulted in a screen view magnified several times where I can read only a a couple of words per page and that too by scrolling right to left and scrolling up and down. I don't think I've ever felt so unintelligent. One of my co-workers has a web folder where the text size seems to be at about 300%. Now, this doesn't really bother her, but it drives me bananas. Question: Display text size

I have windows XP home. I changed the display properties to 1280 x 1024 for my new TFT screen but now the text in text boxes is too small for my liking. I have tried to find how to change it in the 'advanced' tab on the appearance tab but there does not seem any way to change the text size in the Active window. All I can seem to change is the title bar text size. Can anyone advise me how to do this as it is irritating not to be able to get the text to a reasonable size for someone who's eyesight is not as good as it used to be.

Answer:Display text size

open internet explorer and click the view tabhighlight 'text size' and select larger or largest etc. it doesnt work on this site though.

Hey everyone! Long time no see!

Okay, so a friend of my dad told him that he used to see the folder icons and labels in the left pane of Outlook 2007 in a bigger font/size before switching to a new computer with Windows 7. Obviously, we all know that upgrading Windows won't change font sizes that are coded into independent programs, so I'm thinking that maybe his old computer was running at a lower resolution. Anywho, my dad's friend asked my dad to ask me this question, and since I don't use Office 2007 anymore, I need to ask you: is there a way to change the size of the folder icons and labels in the left pane of Outlook 2007, without changing the size of anything else?

Thanks for your help!

Answer:Change size of folder icons and text in Outlook 2007

Not sure about Outlook 2007 as I've been on 2910 for a while now but if you go to the file - options - advanced and check out the options for the navigation pane there should be a font button - change this to something more appropriate to your needs andthis will not alter the other panes

If would also appear that the icons expand to match your font choice

I have a 16 mg image, 4500x3000. I resized all the way down to 100x100 and the file size won't change from 12.4 or so. This is true for all photos in a certain file I downloaded from online. They are appliance products. I tried downloading a random, even larger image from google, 26mg, 12000x8000 or something like that and changed it to 2000x1500 or so and the file size went to a respectable 1.5mg. I am resizing with windows photo gallery and my coworker tried photoshop with the same results, though I don't know what settings.

I redownloaded the files I am having trouble with and that didn't work. I'm not sure what to try. Can't find much online. Any ideas?

I recently purchased the HP Spectre 360 and I am having the same problem as manoj12001. Most of my emails display in the center of the screen in a narrow strip with text that is so tiny it is barley visable. I also cannot conduct web meetings via WebEx because my screen will be completly blank with the prompts in tiny boxes on the screen. I had to quickley abandon my computer and log in on another device in order to preform my meeting. In addition, my screen is typically at 100% zoom on the internet, but on this computer has to be at 250% to display in a normally 100% view. Something is teribby wrong and our company I.T. person cannot even fix it. I am searching solutions right now online but my next step is to take the computer back to the store where I purchased it. Please help. I love this computer but cannot work with this issue.

I was a former Outlook 2002 or similar early version Outlook user and I upgraded to Outlook 2007 which assummed the earlier settings.

No email messages are now downloaded directly to the inbox in Outlook 2007!

Instead if I click on the Tab, Search Folders (below the Tab, Inbox) and then immediately return to the Inbox Tab, the downloaded messages will appear in the Inbox Tab.

This is entirely frustrating since I tend to view emia messages multiple times during the day.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Dell Studio XPS laptop (not sure about year, between 2013/2015 I think) and have noticed that the screen resolution recently changed to a lower display setting. I was taking notes in class and all of a sudden my screen display shrunk (display not going all the way to sides and top/bottom). I freaked out and restarted my computer in the hopes it would change back. Now, the display and text appears blurry and stretched, and the system settings won't let me change back to 1280 x 800 (it's stuck at 1152 x 864 for some reason). All the driver files are up to date and everything was working fine about an hour ago.. can anyone help me figure this out?

Hello community! A few days ago, I reinstalled Windows 7 on my T520 (42445GG) with Full-HD Display with an original installation disc. I installed all the system drivers with the update tool as well as the graphics card driver and the monitor inf file from the support page. Unfortunately I had to realize that lenovo had done some text-size improvements in the preinstalled version of win 7 and my fresh installation now shows only very small letters...I was wondering if I could solve this issue by setting other dpi values, but I could not find the "right" one. The text was either too big or symbols and some applications where distorted. What kind of improvements/settings does lenovo use in the preinstalled version of Win 7 on a T520 with FHD-Display? Thanks for the effort! Greetings

Answer:T520 FHD-Display and Lenovo's text-size improvements in Win 7

If you set the DPI to 100% you will have the Windows default setting. If text is large you need to check that you didn't adjust the text size since this is left at the default setting on the factory image.

Hi,  My most pressing problem is the display of my Yoga Pro 3 (Windows 10). Whenever I connect it to an external monitor (which it never does properly but that's another issue) and then disconnect it, the display settings change and the text is all far too small. Usually icons are all too big. My normal solution is to turn it off and restart it. I've been trying to google a solution and changed some settings but thought I had put things back to 'normal' before I restarted again. However, the text is all very small - smaller than it was before.   (Things I tried in the setting - changing the resolution, changing the size of thext using "advanced sizing of text and other items" - didn't work) Please can anyone tell me how to put it right (my first priority). If it is impossible to have the computer recognise what it is attached to and adjust appropriately, ideally I could have two settings and swtich between them as appropriate. I'll save other issues for other posts! Thanks.

Read this. Although for Excel it should work for any csv file. Map custom fields is fairly important.
It would have been easier to have created a pst file of your old contacts (export as pst) and then imported that.

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with an Outlook 2007 issue a user has been having. Last week, our exchange server was flooded by a lot of e-mails, causing our users messages they tried to send out to fail and given a Outlook delivery delayed message for each. The issue was solved but I have one user who still has a delivery delayed mail in this inbox and upon trying to open it, Outlook crashes and if you try to deleted it, you get the message:

"One or more items in the folder you synchronized do not match. To resolve the conflicts, open the items, and they try this operation again."

I was thinking this notification was in sync with the e-mail that was delayed, so I did a search and couldn't not find anything related to it. Any ideas on who to get rid of this troublesome message?

Outlook 2007 has begun to behave strangely.

Plain text messages received do not display in the font selected in Tools>Options>Mail Format>Stationery & Fonts>Composing and reading plain text messages

These incoming messages are suddenly displaying in a smaller font, Time New Roman 10 (or some paragraphs Tahoma 10) even though the more readable default font Consolas 10.5 is still set there.

No changes to font and size in that dialogue have any effect at all on *received* plain text messages (but new *created* messages respond to changes made in the dialogue)

Created plain text messages correctly use Consolas 10.5 or any other setting when selected, the problem is only received plain text messages.

Anyone have a clue?

You might try Windows Movie Maker; it comes with Windows XP.  Did any software come with your video camera that can edit videos?  As far as best file type and Codecs, I have no idea.

Hi, I just created some text effect in adobe after effects and rendered it. But the size of the video takes almost 1 GB and it's just 10 seconds long. I'd like to ask how could I reduce file size without quality loss. Is it possible to keep the same resolution?

Answer:Reducing size of .avi file

Videos end sizes are a result of a number of things. The quality/range of sound, quality/range of colors, framerate, compression method, file type, display size, and maybe a few others I have forgotten. There should be some web sites or even adobe help to learn how to reduce overall size of a file.1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

in some browsers you can reduce the text size, this sometimes helps, unless the page is built with frames that set the width.

you could also turn your screen mode up to a higher resolution.

I don't think it is a good idea to randomly delete files from the Windows folder. Why don't you click on the Windows Logo, go to All Programs, Accessories then click System Tools and then double click Disk Cleanup. Then click on the More Options tab. In thebottom half of the windows that you see under System Restore etc you can click Clean up and delete all but the last System Restore point. This might clean up some space for you

Answer:reducing entire screen size

Are you referring to your screen resolution? You can change that easily:With no programs on screen, right click your desktop. Choose Properties, then Settings tab. Your screen resolution can be adjusted there. Move the slider bar to your desired setting. The higher the number, the smaller the fonts, icons, and screen size. In other words, 800 x 600 is large print, anything with a larger number than that will give you smaller print and squeeze more onto the screen. Is that what you're looking for? Can't help you on the Media Player issue.
