Office 2007 & One Note 2007 Problems

Question: Office 2007 & One Note 2007 Problems

I have a legitimate version of Office 2007 and over the last few weeks have had the same problem over and over again.
I install the software and Office runs OK and then 2 or 3 days later Office just stops working, I have no access to any Office programs.
The only other programs I have installed since Office was installed are Firefox the same day and a OneNote trial the next day (OneNote is no longer working too).
I'm using AVG (free version) and it's a Vista Home Premium Computer.
Anyone got any ideas??

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have finally gotten OneNote 2007 to sync my 3 computers but I'm not sure it is correctly set-up. The data information I have saved in my file called Pats Notes only resides on the computer I started on. It is in the path "C:\users\pat\documents\OneNote Notebooks\Pats Notes". There is no file like that on either of the other computers. What happens when I take my smaller computer on the road? Will I still have all my notes with me even though they remain behind on the main computer? There will be no network connection to the original files. Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Not sure you deleted it from the favorites bar but right click a blank area to the right of favorites and it should be in the list of toolbars.

When I try to open a 2007 Word or Excel document I recieve as an attachment in Outlook 2003, I get the following message:
"This action is only valid for products that are currently installed". Office 2007 compatibility pack was installed and it still did not work.

I then uninstalled Office 2003, uninstalled the Office 2007 compatibility pack and then I ran CCleaner to clean up the registry. I updated my OS (currently has Windows XP SP3) with all updates, reinstalled Office 2003, installed Office 2003 SP 3 and then reinstalled the Office 2007 compatibility pack.

I still get the same message when I try to open an Office 2007 attachment in Outlook 2003.

OS is Windows XP SP3 fully updated
Office 2003 SP 3 fully updated

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any hel on this issue.

Running Vista Ultimate (32 bit) on HP Media Center Desktop Unit (8100y). Each time system is booted up and Outlook 2007 is accessed for the first time, Microsoft Office 2007 begins to reconfigure itself. Neither canceling of the configuation process nor allowing the process to complete seems to have any apparent effect on subsequent operations.

Performed repair function on the Office application without any discernible effect. Any help in resolving this issue would be truly appreciated!

For no apparent reason my version of MS Outlook has suddenly gone belly-up. All other apps. in Office work fine.
When I now try to open Outlook I receive the following "Cannot open your default email folders. The file C:\User\Maurice\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst is not a personal folders file"

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Office from the original disks a number of times, I have successfully installed this on another Win7 desktop computer partition and it works fine. I have attempted to follow the MS repair online notification for .pst but it doesn't seem to work (or maybe it is me that isn't working). Most frustrating. Any word by word suggestions greatly appreciated.

A charity is considering upgrading its workstations to Office 2013 from Office 2007.
They have lots of files in the .docx, .xlsx, .xlsm, and .xltm formats that they would need to access on a daily basis.

- Would the upgrade cause compatability problems with working with files created under these above formats?

Answer:Considering upgrade to Office 2013 - potential problems with Office 2007 files?

I recently formatted my HD and reinstalled MS Office Enterprise 2007, I last used MS Excel on the 08/06/2014 without a problem, today I go to use my Excel spreadsheet and for some weird reason it wants to roundup my cells.
I have cleared the cells formatted the number but it still keeps on rounding up 25799 to 258. I downloaded a stack of MS Office updates 3 days ago, is it possible one of these Updates has corrupted - broken my Excel program?

I am considering uninstalling all of those updates and turning off Updates for MS Office altogether.

Answer:Excel 2007 (MS Office 2007 enterprise)

Hi there.

To test if it's really a software issue, please try out on a new excel spreadsheet and see if the problem is still there. It might not necessarily be the software. Once we have confirmation that the problem exist on a fresh new spreadsheet, then try to do a repair first before uninstalling.

The other Office 2003 functions I am able to use. Also, I am unable to install Office Updates because when I do, Outlook 2002 and Word 2003 lose some functionality and I have to restore.

I tried to fix some minor problems and ended up with more major ones - apologies for being a dummy!
I uninstalled Office 2007 with Revo uninstaller selecting to delete all values. I then reinstalled it and seemed to work OK but problem of very slow copying in Excel which had been fixed was still there. I decided to restore registry using Erunt. After that none of Office programs work. Outlook loads but will not function - message 'not implemented' appears if I try to send, reply or anything. I tried to reinstall Office 2007 but it fails. I tried to install a disc version of Office 2003 but it give me a windows installer error message 'This patch could not be installed ....'. I know I have probably made some stupid moves here but please could anyone help to get me out of this fix and get Office working again.
Thank you, Phil

Answer:Office 2007 problems

Update: Used Windows Installer cleanup Utility and removed Office references. Tried to reinstall Office 2007. It got further than last time then stopped with 'Microsoft Office 2007 encountered an error during setup' again. However, when I tried to install Office 2003 it seemed to work and I can now view my word docs and excel sheets. Outlook will not start though giving the error message 'Cannot start Office Outlook. MAP132.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook. I did a repair from the installation disc but no joy.
I note that the Office 2007 files are still there in the program files in the 'office12' folder.
Also, When I tried to search for the MAP132.DLL file the Search window came up blank - no title and nothing showing where there used to be options.

Office 2007 with XP Home SP2. I'm getting the following errors:
When I try to open Word it says the file msointl.dll is missing and to run setup again.
When I try to run Excel I get a "not enough memory to run Excel" error. The laptop has 512mb DDR and Excel was running fine until a few days ago.
When I try to run Power Point I get the first Office 2007/Power Point splash screen for maybe 1-2 seconds; it closes and that's it. No error, nothing. The same thing happens with OneNote and Picture Manager. SideNote and occasionally OneNote will crash with ".... encountered a problem and needs to close". When I try to uninstall Office from Add/Remove Programs, it says something to the effect of "This language is not supported by your system" and just stops. When I try to re-install from the MS factory install CD, it goes alonmg OK, I enter the product key, and then it just says "Setup cannot continue. Please restart your computer and try again" or something close to it. At one point I click on "send error report" for one of the many error I've rec'd and it actually pointed me to an update; it's Office 2007 Service Pack 1. Now, the question is.... Do I install SP1 for Office?? Or is this install completely jacked up? The thing is, I can't uninstall, I can't reinstall, and I can't run any Office programs.

Any help!!!

Answer:Office 2007 - serious problems

Update- I installed the recommended SP1 update from the MS web site. It finished with an error (was there any doubt) that said "Installation unsuccessful." in bright red letters, and there was a 'close' button, and a 'more info' button. The more info button just told me again that the install was unsuccessful and to try uninstalling and reinstalling Office. Duh. I think I'll "force" an uninstall and manually delete the Office folder, run some reg cleaning and HD cleaning, then try to re-install.... that is, unless someone comes along and saves my hide

A while ago, I received the Microsoft Office 2007 Beta 2 version to try out.
It worked fine, but 2 days ago, when I wanted to start Office 2007, I got the 'Your Beta program has expired' message.

Therefore I searched for the Office 2007 Trial version, and I downloaded it.
But here's the problem: When I try to install it, and execute the installation file, nothing happens.
I notice that my computer is busy, and when I acces the Taskmanager, I see that Office is absorbing my computer resources like CRAZY!
Well, needless to say my computer is abnormal slow when that occurs, and the only way to get rid of it, is to reset my computer.
What could be the problem?

At first I had problems with outlook freezing on start up. I tried to repair the installation and that didn't work so I tried to uninstall but going through add/remove programs didn't work so I had to follow the microsoft guide to manually uninstall it.
That seemed to work but now I can't get it to install, the installer just hangs and doesn't go anywhere.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of and my next move is reformatting which I don't really want to do.

Any one have any ideas of what I can do?

Answer:Office 2007 Problems

Use system restore to put outlook back the way it was. Then use Revno uninstaller to remove it. You should be ok.

You probably have remnanats remaining, you can try to use ccleaner to remove them, or you can make an advanced search to look for any files with the name of the program. You can try this in lieu of, or in addition to my previous advice.

I purchased Office 2007 from It is a Foundation for CA Comm. College buys of software at a much reduced price. It is a one computer install. I installed MS Office 2007 Enterprise on my new computer (HP m9250f, Intel 2, Quad CPU 2.66 GHz, 4 GB Mem) in May 2008. Shortly after, I began to notice that when using Word or Excel, the screen will move another line in Word and to another sheet in Excel. It is extremely distracting and bothersome. I have the system on a Netgear wireless router and use Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Any ideas for a fix before I call MS. It does not occur with browser or any other program.

Answer:Office 2007 problems

Richard: Sounds to me like a keyboard issue, not a software issue. Sounds like your Ctrl or Alt key(s) may be sticking.

Could also be a graphics card issue, which I'm really unfamiliar with, but something is nagging me about your issue and it could be something weird like a graphics card.

Just completed reinstalling my software applications into Windows 7 Pro 64, from Vista Ult 64, and realise that my Office 2007 package will not auto update. I can go up to the MS Update site, and manually download/install them one at a time, but trying to update from start/'windows Update' icon it only looks at the Windows 7 state. Another problem is that whilst I can open any relevant file in Excel or Word from the open command in the program, If I double click directly on any file, it opens the relevant Office package, but I get an error message stating " There was a problem sending this command to the program", and no file is loaded. I have tried a Windows 7 repair, and re-installing the Office 2007 package, but the problem is still there.
Any suggestions what might be at fault, before I have to restart the long haul of reinstalling the whole package again !!

SO heres what happened. I had office 2007 installed but i needed to uninstall it and install office 2003 because I am going to school from home and have to have 2003.

I uninstalled 2007 then installed 2003 and nothing would work right, all of the files that should have been word documents would not work with 2003 and anytime I tried to just open word by itself (without opening from a file) it would say it was installing the program (this happened every time i tried to open it)

I uninstalled 2003 and reinstalled 2007 hoping it would be ok because there was a file i really needed well now 2007 is doing the same thing even though the files I made were with 2007 and it is also doing the thing where every time I opened word it would try to install/configure itself.

How can i completely uninstall 2007 and any legftover traces. I'm hoping that once I do that and reinstall that all will be fixed.

Answer:Problems with office 2003 and 2007

Not sure why you are having problems re-installing Office 2007.

As for why you couldn't open Office 2007 documents with Office 2003 applications, Microsoft changed the file formats for 2007. In 2007, you should have the option to "Save as" using an older file format or you can get a Compatibility Pack for Office 2003 that will let you open Office 2007 files. More information at ...

Hey guys,
I installed Office 2007 Enterprise on my XP laptop and kept my old versions of Office 2003 apps. Most things work properly but there are some really weird issues. One thing is that when I open Powerpoint 2003 slideshows in powerpoint 07, the formatting is all out of whack. When I click on the Insert Wordart button in powerpoint 07, the gallery window comes up but i only get pieces of previews of options. Similar things when I click on the Bullets/Numbering button. Only lines show up and not the bullet options.
Please if anyone knows something that might help, that would be great. Thanks.

I'm working on a Dell Studio laptop running Vista 64 Home Premium and trying like heck to get Office 2007 to install & run. Neither of those do any good. If I try to run Word or any other Office app after trying to run Outlook, I get not enough RAM or disk space. Good morning all.I recently bought Office 2007 and am trying to install it on my son's PC (running XP home). The installation soon stops, with an error message related to the need to remove any traces of previous installations of the Beta version (which used to be installed on this same machine).I have tried to identify and delete any installation data and registry entries left over from the Beta version, but still Office won't install.I have looked at the Microsoft article on this problem (presumably it's quite common?) but the article is very unhelpful about what, specifically, might be left over that is preventing the installation. Any suggestions would be very welcome, as I have quite a few Ł tied up in the Office software! Also, as my son is considering upgrading his OS to Vista, is there any likelihood that this might fix the Office problem? Thanks,Richard.

I just purchased a new laptop and have been moving my files from my old machine with VISTA and Office 2007 to the new machine with Windows 7 and Office 2010.

I installed Office 2010 and it all worked fine, when I moved my saved files over to the new machine I could not open Excel files. I finally got that fixed and everything opens fine on the new computer.

When I back up the new computer on an external drive I am unable to open the Excel files again on the external drive or even if I move them back on the new machine, the same files currently on the new machine [in a different folder] open fine.

How do I go about getting a backup copy on an external souce that can be read by another computer?

Every time I try to install Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, it says "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 encountered an error during setup" and the only option is to close it. There are no other error codes, nothing. I purchased the DVD through the MSDN home use program I have access to at work. I do not have any other versions of Office installed. I am running Vista Business version with the latest updates. Has anyone else had this error and found a way around it?

Hi there guys.......
may you guys confirm me my doubt?!

I cant finish installing the office sp1, I allready installed the 946691 update and it gives me the same error.
I am starting to think it is ther free space on mu C: drive, that is a bit under 4gb!

What you guys think?

Answer:Problems Installing Office 2007 SP1!

Hello Th?oPatrizi,

First off, can you please post the error message you get or take a screenshot of it? 4GB shouldn't be a problem for Microsoft Office itself (Only 200-500mb), but that is dangerously low. I recommend you uninstall some unused programs with the Windows Uninstaller.

Go to Control Panel -> Programs, Uninstall a Program.

You should try to keep more than 15gb if possible, this allows for maximum system performance and is considered a "safe" level for your pc to be at.

We will try to help you more when you post the error your getting.

Shortly after, I began to notice that when using Word, Excel, Outlook and sometimes with IE browser, the screen will toggle to another line in Word and to another sheet in Excel or to another email entry. It is extremely distracting and bothersome. I have the system on a Netgear wireless router and use Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Any ideas for a fix before I call MS. It does not occur with any other program. Please help!

So I'm certain this is posted here somewhere, but I can't spend the hours needed to find sorry for probably repeating something.

I just purchased a computer with Vista 64 bit, even though I had my reservations about the OS. I then migrated some data from my last laptop and installed my copy of Office 2007 Enterprise.

I imported my personal folders into outlook, which seemed fine. I set up my email account and noticed that I could send emails from my outlook (using an internet email account from a work server) but not receive. I also started noticing this error when running outlook:

"An extension failed to initialize. Cannot open file: extend.dat. The file may not exist, you may not have permission to open it or it may be open in another program..."

I looked around the internet and tried to find a fix for this error. Most places said to find the file and rename it. I have searched every way possible and cannot find the file to rename it. I'm not sure if this is even related to why I cannot receive email.

In addition, when running outlook, I also periodically receive the error "Your AutoCorrect file, \MSO1033.acl could not be saved. The file may be read only, or you may not have permission to modify the file." I also get this permission language at the bottom of the previous error message. Upon exiting outlook I get a similar error about not being able to save a file. It then opens a dialog box for me save the file as a macro ena... Read more

An update -

In an effort to fix what was going on, I created a non-administrator login. I then tried to set everything up under that login. Same results. So I installed and reinstalled office. same results.

Just now I logged back into the administrator login and started outlook. Since it was the first time it had been run on this login since the reinstall, it went through the setup. Now it's working fine, as well as Word.

A couple questions: could the problems have had anything to do with the personal folders I imported into outlook from my separate HD which was holding the data from my last laptop? And my fear is that if I now go back to the other login and try to use it, it might mess this one up....

I tried to un-install Office 2007. But it would not un-install. So I went online searching for answers. and I found this link:
I tried to follow the directions, but I think I got so overwhelmed and scared that I did not continue. But what I did do might have been the reason that I got more problems now.

Now I am not able to use my own Office XP 2002.
I am not able to re-install nor un-install any of the office products (2002 or 2007).

Tonight, I used the CD to re-install office 2007 (trial), I got the Error 1321:
"Setup cannot modify the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\office12\1033\PROTTPLV.XLS Verify that the file exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update.

A few days ago, I tried to re-install Office xp 2003, and I got similar Errors.

Please Help!

I have been trying all night to install Office 2007 onto my system. The problem I am running into is that when I start up a Office application (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) it will try to install/customize some more and then a window will pop up saying something like:

"Microsoft Word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application."

I have re-downloaded the Office 2007 Professional trial twice already. I have uninstalled and installed it back about 3-4 times already in normal mode. I have tried to install it in safe mode, but Office 2007 gives an error while trying to install.

The only thing I have found out is that if I turn of UAC, then there is no problem at all. But once I turn UAC back on, then it will keep showing the pop up telling me to run the setup again.

I have already tried the Office 2007 repair and diagnostic. They both did nothing.

I have only one user account on my computer and it is set to administrator. I have checked permissions to make sure Everyone has full control.

Please let me know if you know a fix of some sort!

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-Z590U laptop which came with Vista Ultimate (OEM) and with MS Office Pro 2007 (OEM), which I paid for extra.
I have just removed Windows Vista Ultimate (OEM) and replaced it with a full install (not update) of Windows 7 Home Premium (OEM) 32bit.
Everything is working great - BUT...
When I try to download MS Office Pro 2007 (at]Microsoft Office Downloads) using the MS Key I received with the laptop - I get an error message... 'The Office 2007 Product Key provided is not recognized as an eligible product for free download. Please re-enter your Product Key and try again, or check the list of 'eligible products'.
If this does not work, you may be interested in downloading a free trial or purchasing Office 2010 products at...
Trying again gives the same Error Message.
Clicking on the 'eligible products' link - relates only to Office 2010 and has no help with this issue.
I have spent ages searching for information and for a possible 'OEM" version that might work - without success.
Can you please help in any way?
I am a Beginner/intermediate user.

Answer:Microsoft Office Pro 2007 OEM install problems

While I am not sure, I think maybe its a mismatch between your downloaded version and your license key. You have an OEM license. You have to use it on maybe an OEM version of Office (and not a Retail version), so please check if you have downloaded the correct Office 2007 installer. But you should be able to install your Office OEM on the same machine again, as an OEM license is tied to the machine and not to the user. Here are a few useful Office download links.
Hope some here can come up with a better answer.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this issue. I have been trying to fix it for a couple of days now and I am getting extremely frustrated.

I have MS Office Ultimate 2007, neither the clip art or the help menus are working in most of the programs. I have used all of the features previously, so I know they were working.

However, when I tried to access clip art the other day for an assignment the ones from Office Online will not load. They have weird symbols instead of the clip art pictures. When I try to insert one of them I get the error message

Word cannot obtain the data for C:\Users\<my name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\MPj04331800000[1].jpg link.

I checked and the Microsoft Office Template activeX control is fact, I can access templates from Office Online. Just not clip art or help.

I have also tried turning off my firewall...but that's useless because I can access online templates, so it has to be connecting to the site. And it didn't help with my problem anyway.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Answer:Problems with help menu and clip art in MS Office 2007

Will someone please give me some suggestions? I am still having this problem. I thought for a while that maybe it was because I installed Office Ultimate without uninstalling Home and Student. I have since attempted to uninstall both programs, and my computer will not allow me to do that either.

Completely unrelated, I think, but there is something else my computer is doing. It will freeze sometimes(more frequently lately). I will restart it and after about 20 minutes on the logoff screen it will shut off and turn back on to a blue screen saying something about preventing damage to my computer. It goes to the restart options screen before I can read what I should do if I see that screen more than once. PLUS my CPU usage is almost constantly at 100%. I don't know what CPU usage is exactly, but I'm thinking it has something to do with why my computer seems to freeze so much.

Anyway, I REALLY need help! PLEASE can someone tell me where to take my computer, or what tests I can run to see what the heck is going on? I am really getting worried

I am using windows 7 ultimate and Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise edition. My problem started about a week ago when every time i would start up Word, a window would pop up stating that it needed to configure the program. the computer would then hang up and i would have to end the task. I decided to uninstall office 2007 from the computer and reinstall, but when i went into the programs listing to uninstall it could not complete the process. I went in and deleted all of the files on my own at that point (probably not a smart move). After that i tried to reinstall Office 2007 and it would get about two thirds of the way through and then the window stating "installation error cannot complete setup". I tried several different time and the same error occurred. Can anyone help me with this issue? I have to have office on my computer and the last thing in the world i want to do is reformat!

I've had the Beta version of Office installed for sometime now. What I didn't realise is that today (1 Feb 2007) is the cut off day for it, and when arriving in the office this morning realised that it isn't working anymore, and says that I must uninstall.

So we have the Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 dvd here, but when inserting that, it tells me I have to uninstall Beta first (can't understand why it doesn't just upgrage.. grrr..)

Now the problem - when trying to remove 2007 Beta through add/remove programs, it goes through a whole process, but then at the end comes up with the following error:

Seems simple enough right? Firstly, the file it tells you to read up on doesn't actually exist anywhere on my pc. Secondly, I seems to have all the appropriate permissions available.

After rebooting and this message coming up numerous times, I decided to try install 2003 and see if that would work. Well, it installed, but now there's major conflict errors, so I tried to uninstall 2003, and surprise surprise - I got the exact same error message:

SO we tried a system restore, but that didn't work. So last resort was to go in cowboy style and delete the regustry entries, and all the files and folders relating to office.

Didn't work either. It still shows as being there in Add/Remove Programs, and keeps showing the same uninstall errors when trying to uninstall.

Formatting would be the FINAL option, but that would be one hellu... Read more

Myself and my son both had new laptops at Xmas. We both ran trials of office 2007. I converted mine to the full version 2 weeks which I purchased. Since then my laptop won't print any documents at all, not from the internet and not from office. They docs are banking up on my laptop but are not shown on the main PC which the printer is connected to.So I deleted the printer and tried to reinstall it but the laptop could not find it on the wireless connection. I hard wired it into the printer and it still wouldn't work. I uploaded a patch for the HP all-in-one for windows 7. Still didn't work. Though it managed to find it when I originally set the laptop up from new.Next, today my son upgraded his version of Office 07 trial to the full version. Now he cannot print either and his laptop cannot find the printer. What is it about Office 07 that means we cannot print wirelessly via our router to the printer attached to our pc?

I have Vista as an operating system. I mainly use Firefox to download software.

I try to install MS Office 2007 and it gives me Error 2203. I have cleaning up my system with ccleaner and that didn't help. I checked and windows installer is enabled and windows temp folder is set correctly. I have set System as having 'full control'. I have searched these forums and I haven't found a solution which works.

iTunes and Quicktime have the same error number 2203 and messages. I get a message saying, 'There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
'The installer has encountered and unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2203."

There is also a problem with disappearing shortcuts. I download a program (such a ccleaner or yahoo messenger) and when I reboot I try to use the program and all the shortcuts are disabled. The message says that the program has been moved and the shortcuts are no longer valid.

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. This is my boss' computer - I don't have access right now to run the SysInfo, but can get in to run it if it is necessary.

She's been having multiple problems, dating back a couple years. We recently called a local computer tech who said the problems were caused by upgrading from Vista to Windows 7, instead of doing a clean install. But another local tech told her that the first guy was wrong and the problem was that her computer was completely infected and she was having hardware failures. I'm not sure who to believe.

Most of the problems seem to be with Microsoft Office programs, though that may be because that is what is used most often.

I bought this package from the Ultimate Steal. I got the Download which is the .exe file. Now, when I double-clicked on this instead of coming up with the box whis says "run" etc straight away, it literally loads (the little blue circle thing going round and round lol) for about 10 minutes. Finally the box will come up. It will then take ages for the box toc ome up which says to give permissions (as admin). Once it did thsi it installed fine.
Everything seemed fine until I tried to use Microsoft Word with an image in the document. As soon as I tried to save, it would say "not responding" and freeze for about 5 minutes and then eventually save. The typing etc would also be slow in the document if there was an image present and other programmes which were open such as Internet Explorer would also be slow.
Today I un-installed Microsoft Office. I am wanting to know whether I should use the same .exe file, which I have saved on desktop, or whether I should try and download it again. Could I contact Microsoft for support and will it be free?
Thank you.
PS. My OS is Windows Vista, 32-bit

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate Installation Problems

if its a legal copy, you should be able to contact microsoft with the issues, and have them assist you. i believe in owning the cd's, and have not downloaded any exe's from ultimate steal, so i cannot confirm the actual file specs. i myself am always wary of downloading exe files. the only thing i could recommend is to patch office after install, and see if that helps, or, contact microsoft.

Like an idiot I downloaded and installed these 2 Beta programs. From what I can see there are still several bugs to be worked out so I tried uninstalling both today using ad/remove programs.

After doing this, I no longer have my original MS office pro 2000; and all of my email is gone. The system restore doesn't help either.

I reinstalled both betas and got all of my files back so I tried to save them (backup) as pst files so I could transfer them to another computer running Office pro 2000. The problem is my original program des not recognize the new pst format nor can it open any new word or excel files created under the beta.

All I really want to do is to get back to where I was with my original office 2000 and get my email back.

I have been all over the web looking for a cure and Microsoft is no help since there is no support for the betas.

Can any one help me get back to where I was?

Answer:Problems Uninstalling MS Outlook and Office 2007 Beta - HELP!

In Outlook 2003, if you go to create a new PST file (via file->new->"outlook data file"0, you have an option of creating a legacy PST file which IS recognized by older Outlooks. I think the 2003 wording is "Outlook 97-2002 Data File". Once you create the file, you can Export all of you email into it by going to file->export and pointing the export towards the legacy file which you created.

No idea if this works the same in the Outlook 2007 beta or not, but hopefully this is at least a place for you to start!

Good luck!

Hi all, my husband brought home a disk with a few programs on it for my daughter who is starting college and needs a word processing program. I believe it has OpenOffice and Office 2007 Enterprise, not familiar with either one. I have MSOffice 2003 installed on my desktop and am happy with it. So I thought I would download this new program on my computer to see what changes have been made etc. but what I didn't realize is that it over-wrote my 2003. I tried opening some photos with MS Pictures and its not there anymore. I also tried opening an excel file and got a message "MSOINTL.DLL is missing... " or something like that and the file wouldn't open. So in frustration I uninstalled MSOffice 2007 and now I see that all of my excel files and word files won't open since now my 2003 Office is gone.
Sorry for rambling here, I tried to do a system restore and picked a date in bold as instructed (just a day ago) and after it appeared to go thru the motions and reboot, I got a message that "unable to restore ..." (don't remember what else). My system restore was NOT turned off so I have no idea why it didn't work.
So I'm pleading now to find out first how to get my Office 2003, is there a place where I can download it? I don't want Office 2007, I want my old one back. My husband has a call in to the IT guy at work who he got the disk from, but as I said, I should have just kept my status know the old sayi... Read more

Answer:Microsoft Office 2003 - problems upgrading to 2007

I was looking to edit my post but I guess that feature isn't available after a certain amount of time has elapsed? I'm sorry for the original long post, after reviewing it I would have liked to get to the point without all my frustration, maybe even edit the thread title.
Please disregard my post, I uninstalled/reinstalled MS Office 2007 and it must have been a glitch in the original install.

I recently discovered that the Office on my computer was not genuine, so I bought a genuine one from the Microsoft's site, which I installed hoping that things will be fine. However, even after installation, every time I open up Outlook, Words...the same pop up comes up saying that the programme installed is not genuine.

I contacted customer care in the USA, and they were able to identify that I have 2 versions running on my machine. They suggested removing one (?or both) Office 2007, and then install the genuine one. However, to do this would be rather disastrous as I had finally got together my outlooks and its many many many emails. I don’t want to start afresh and lose all my emails.

I need to contact the UK customer service, but it is a telephone number, so I will try to call them from work. In the meantime, does any clever person have any idea on a solution?

Many many thanks

Answer:Problems with Office 2007- 2 versions running (1 genuine, but not the other 1)

you should able to backup you emails, on older versions I would suggest you just copy the PST file, however, on 2007 I think they use a ost - so not sure about that...

I will try and lookup 2007 outlook backup
above is a link to an article to backup 2007

I have already carried this out on 2007
I exported 2007 to a new PST file and then copied that to a different machine and imported as a datafile on 2003 - this was just as a data file, so I have not checked the contacts etc, as I said its imported as a data file - so i have all the emails

I use Office Outlook 2007 for my email. I have it setup so that an automatic signature is added to all newly composed emails. My signature line consists of name, address, phone, and an email link. Every so often, when someone replies to my email, I see that a web link (the same one every time) has been added to my signature line from my original email. The web link is located right next to my email link. I've tried setting up a new automatic signature, but the same problem keeps happening. Anyone know how to correct this. Thanks.

Answer:Office Outlook 2007 email signature problems

Where is the link showing? Have you tried sending yourself an email to see if the link shows up in the signature? You should probably remove your email address from your signature as well. Bots can pick that up with scanning, and the recipient will have your email address after you send him/her an email.

Please, please someone help me!On Tuesday, 11/13/07, I was deeply engrossed in a paper I was editing?everything was going well and I was really appreciating Word 2007?when all of a sudden my system started shutting down.  Long story short:  apparently MS Automatic Update decided to reboot my computer.  If there was any warning beforehand, I didn?t see it?like I said, I was deeply engrossed in this paper I had been working on for two hours. When my system came back up, the paper I was working on wouldn?t reopen, nor would the automatically saved copy.  I got ?file corrupted-cannot open? error messages on both until I gave up and deleted both of them thinking I would get another copy from the email I had originally received it in and start over.  Didn?t work.  When I attempted to open attached file (in email) Word would open a blank page.  Tried this several times with the same result.  Never was able to re-access that paper. But then, things got worse:1.    I lost the ability to highlight text or to have any other interaction within a document other than typing letters or deleting by backspacing in a new document.  If I open a previous document, I cannot access it at all.  I cannot move the cursor or really do anything else.  The mouse (either the cordless or the touchpad) has no effect within a document, although it works normally within the ribbons and menus.  After running diagnostics and repair and mu... Answer:MS Office Word 2007 multiple problems after update

Microsoft update always create a system restore point before installing updates. So try using system restore with the system restore point that says "Install Windows Update" or something similar.See if that fixes your problem. And I would NOT install every single update microsoft provides, as some may be updates for software you don't use. But I would install all the important updates.

Well I'm using it at work, not live but I tried to print out something and it just went nutty through word. I had a sales meeting with some people and went to print out a word doc that I had done with pictures and arrows and explanations and blammo the first page is fine and the next 3 look like it just wanted to start midway through the page and not work. Other than that, Office 2007 is pretty amazing actually and very easy to find things fast.

Other than that anyone else know where the forms field now is? You used to go Word>View>Toolbars>Forms>brings up forms display. This was great in that if you liked to design contracts for your company to fill in you could wright in everything then enter forms where the data that would change from each time would go and then hit "lock". Then whoever opened the doc next could only tab and edit the form fields, not the rest of the doc. Where is that on Word 2007? I couldn't imagine they would take that option away. Ahh well if I can't figure it out I'll have to go back to 2003 probably for not losing work at work.

There is light years of difference between Office 2003 and Office 2007 though, but I think for the most part if they get it right it will be mostly changes for the better. The prices are going up though........

Sorry but I don't understand, if you haver indeed purchased the full version, why do you not use it?

There is no ability to use any "keys" to reactivate a Beta version or to reload a new Beta version when the Beta programme has expired due to the program now being fully available retail.

Even if there was, no help would ever be given on circumventing trial software limitation of this forum.

But, since you state that you have now purchased ("brought") the full version, where is the problem?

Hello Montara Jones

It sounds like a Windows Installer problem.
Are you getting any error messages?
What actually happens when the installation fails?

These days I'm having a lot of problems with my PC, which until now has nearly always worked just fine, and almost all of these problems are connected in some way to Windows Installer. I'm trying to resolve them one at a time, and now I'm dealing with Microsoft Office 2007. I've managed to run Office Diagnostics (I could not do this before because the Event Log service was not available), but I get the following message:

Windows Installer
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click on OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "O12Conv.msi" in the box below:

I haven't been able to locate the folder indicated above (C:\AcerSW \Works9.0\ MSWorks\ redist\ocp\ O12Conv.msi), and I didn't even know that Microsoft Works was on my on PC (I've never used it, I don't remember installing it, and I can't recall it being included with Office 2007 Professional Plus when I installed it several years ago). I have, however, located Works on my computer...

I have also tried to repair the installation of Office 2007 via the control panel, but after about 90 seconds the window closes, saying simply 'Configuring Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 has not been completed' without an error code or explanation.

I would like to avoid reinstalling Office if it is not absolutely necessary.

Can someone help me?

Hello Melise, Welcome to the forum.

I have read that quite a few people experience this problem. This answer seems to help

Have a look here to enable the built in Administrator account;
Administrator Account

Use this account to install Office and then I recommend that you follow the tutorial to Disable it again, when you are finished.

I hope this helps

This forum helped me a lot in the past and i hope someone can help me this time aswell.
I used to have a problem with blue screens on my toshiba laptop running vista. That problem was solved. However, since then microsoft office word 2007 is not working properly anymore. Whenever i try to save, open or close a file the program stops responding and crashes. I tried uninstalling microsoft office, scaning the computer registry with regsupreme pro and cleaning it and then reinstalling microsoft office but the problem persists.
The problem is only with microsoft word, all other office programs work fine.
My best guess is that something went wrong with some system file.
I have absolutely no idea what to do. If anyone can help me somehow i would appreciate it.
My last resort is formatting the computer which i would like to avoid.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I see that no one has an idea yet on how to help me. Maybe this additional info will help:
1) i started word in safe mode and it works fine only while using safe mode. I started uninstalling programs with word adding with no luck in pinpointing the problem yet. Are there any tools to troubleshoot faulty addins? or anything that would help?
2) here is the last crash report:

I am having problems uninstalling Microsoft Office 2007 trial. Everytime I try to uninstall the program it shows this message:

"Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available. Run setup from original source disc or download location"

I have tried manually removing it and trying to find an uninstaller in the Office folder but had no joy. It also recommended I used windows installer to uninstall it but I don't quite understand how I would do this.

I love One Note but I cannot figure out one thing - how to quickly change format(color, size etc) of text. In word you have predefined font styles(heading 1, heading 2 etc etc) but in One note there isn't anything like that.

So when I am writting header I have to manualy change color and size. Then when I start to write normal text I have to again change manualy color and size which becomes after while anoying and slow process.

Is there any shorcut for changing size / color of text or any other way how to do this quickly?

If you can post the error or tell us whats going on we might be able to help. But looking over the posts you've given they don't really explain whats happening.

1.) What errors are you getting?
2.) When are you getting these errors?
3.) What applications are you running at the time?
4.) What does your computer do after this error happens? IE: system restarts, freeze, application closes.

Hi, when I got my new computer, there was a free trial for Office 2007 on it that I wanted to get rid of. I used Your Uninstaller to do it, and YU only found some kind of Office Trial assistant thing to uninstall, so that's what I got rid of. However, the free trial of Office remains in my program list, and when I click them the programs open. Yet when I look for the programs with YU or via Add/Remove programs, Office is nowhere to be found. This is causing problems for me, because Windows has been asking me to install "important" updates for Office, but when I allow it to update Windows has problems configuring them and my computer is unable to properly load Vista.

So, how do I find these darn Office programs and uninstall them? Once I do that will Windows stop bugging me about Office updates?

Thank you for any help!
