Microsoft Office 2007 Excel

Question: Microsoft Office 2007 Excel

I'm using Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2007 Professional. When I highlight a column, the highlighted color is so light that when I do a "Find" (Control F) command and it finds the value you can't tell it found the value. (The found value is in white which isn't much different than the highlighted column.) Is there any way I can darken the highlighted column? I've tried changing the color scheme for the entire program and that doesn't help.

Hi all,
help needed please for a excel formula for the following problem.
In my daughter in laws work she as to occasionally alter the the price of a lot of the goods they supply by 1 or 2 percent. The problem is that the manager/owner does not want the price to be exactly a round figure eg £1:00 it can be £0:95 or £1:05 in divisions of 5p So she is in need of a excel formula to round up/down the price to the nearest 5p omitting the .00 Can this be done?

Answer:Microsoft office 2007 excel formula

Not sure if this will work in 2007, I use 2010. There are two functions 'ceiling' & 'floor' that you can use.
EG: - Cell A1 has original price (£1 for example)
Cell A2 =b1*98/100 (a reduction of 2% so £0.98p)
Cell A3 = Ceiling(A2,0.05) will go to the nearest 5p above £0.98p (£1) or
Cell A3 = Floor(A2,0.05) will go to the nearest 5p below £0.98p (£0.95p).
Cells need to be formatted for currency.
Hope that helps

Hello everyone,

I have two questions regarding Microsoft Office Excel 2007, that are no doubt simple ones to answer.

Firstly, is it possible to have a column where every entry added would appear automatically with quotation marks? For example, if I entered Movie #1 in to a cell in Column A, when I click out of that cell, can it automatically change it to "Movie #1"?

Secondly, on a seperate work-sheet (but within the same work-book), how can I have a display telling me how many cells appear in a particular column on another work-sheet? For example, if I have Column A in Work-Sheet #2 filled with entries, can I have a cell in Work-Sheet #1 tell me how many entries there are there in total?

I hope that all makes sense.

Any help would be appreciated!

I am creating a worksheet about financial repayments, where the repayments are irregular.

Say for example the total repayment is 1000 and I put this in cell D1 ( alongside other headers). I am putting the repayments in column C, so the first entry would be in cell C2.

What I want to know is whether or not there is a very (I mean VERY) simple way to format column D so that any entry in cloumn C will be automatically subtracted from the first figure of 1000 and subsequent running totals and if so will I also be able to format column D as a figure (I know how to do that but not with any other formatting)

Yes, I know I sound very lazy (I am), but my maths are poor and it will be a long list, so if I make just one error it will be a load of hassle.

I would be obliged for any assistance.

Thank you

I have not had this trouble before but now I find I cannot print an Excel page consisting of names & addresses, phone numbers & email addresses. The page does in fact print out but is unusable because all the data is compacted into an area the size of a postage stamp. Can anyone help please?

Answer:Failure to print an Excel page (Microsoft Office 2007)

You could try print preview/page setup and make sure the correct paper size is selected and the scaling is set to 100% or fit to is set at 1 page(s) wide by 1 tall

I know I can do this as I have done it in the past a long time ago. Using the Find and Replace option add and extension to my sku numbers, such as:

SKU #

8686708052

I have a column of these sku's and want to add the extension .jpg to all of them at one time!

8686708052.jpg

I have done this in the past and can't remember what I did and it worked great instead of having to manually add the .jpg extension to every sku #!

Thanks!

If I click yes or no it doesn't do anything, (on occasion Ill get a message prompting to diagnose and repair, a couple of minutes later it says i's successful but back to square one)

I have just installed SP1 in hopes there's some sort of fix, to no avail
I have tried a repair via the installation disc
I am hoping I don't have to uninstall / reinstall because I don't know if the licenses are limited

If anyone could shed some light on how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it!

I've got two different spreadsheets in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 that rely quite heavily on graphs. Now, the issue I'm having isn't stopping the practical functions of the spreadsheet, but it is aesthetically frustrating.

Each time I access either spreadsheet, some of my graphs data labels reset their formatting and styles. Approximately 75% of the data labels remain as they were originally formatted, but approximately 25% of them reformat themselves each time. I correct it by formatting them the way I'd prefer, and I re-save, but the next time I open the spreadsheet they've gone back to their default state.

Now, this is only the formatting, not the content of the data label, but it is still frustrating.

Can anyone please give some advise as to how I can fix this?

I have a spreadsheet that shows all of the upcoming events at my work (I've attached a very basic example of the way the spreadsheet is set out).

When an event passes, I'd like the spreadsheet to automatically change the formatting of the rows that contain events that have already passed.

For example, today being 14.12.09, an event for yesterday (13.12.09) would be highlighted in red to show that the day has passed.

If anyone can provide any detail on how to achieve this, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am desperately hoping that someone can help me with a problem I've got.

I have a range of values (daily financial figures) that are all made from formulas and external sources (other spreadsheets in the same document). None of these values have been directly entered, and the formulas behind them are quite complex. These values (one in each cell) are all read by a graph - however, for days in the future, the graph violently plummets as it's reading the cell values as "$0.00".

Can someone tell me how I can prevent the graph from showing the "$0.00" values? Is there a way to get it to ignore the cells with that value?

I'm working on a spreadsheet at the moment which displays a range of cells all containing values referenced from another spreadsheet (within the same workbook). This system works fine.

Every day, the original worksheet is updated. So, it has fields already arranged up until the end of the year. A row for every date. Now, needless to say, rows for dates in the future contain no values, and so when the spreadsheet I am working on now references those cells, it displays "$0.00" (which is correct, given I am dealing with financial figures).

Now, all of that works as expected, however, on the spreadsheet I am working on, all of those figures are displayed in a line graph. This line graph, at todays date, shows an enormous drop given that the fields for the rest of the year all show a zero balance.

What I need to do, is to get the remainder of those fields (every field that says "$0.00") to not display anything at all. So, if the value is $0.00, it would not display a value at all, and therefore not show anything on the graph.

Can someone tell me how I can achieve this? I'm sure it can be done with an "if" statement, but I'm not sure how to structure it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Solved: Remove Cell Value If Cell Value Is Zero (Microsoft Office Excel 2007)

=If(a1="","",Sheet1!a1) and drag it down.

Where a1 is the first cell in spreadsheet you are working on, and sheet1!a1 is the sheet within workbook containing figure.

Not sure if the graph will recognize the "blank' cell as blank or "0"
You could try that

When I sent a message and when I was using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, I had an option that enabled me to add a photo following or preceding my text. This option enabled me to put a photo in the text area and place text under or above the photo explaining the photo. I am now running Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 using Windows Home Premium 64 bit and I cannot find this option. If this is no longer an option, how can I place a photo in the text area and then follow with text explaining the photo? If this is not possible, I guess this new version is a downgrade!
Thanks in advance and I will appreciate an answer.

I recently formatted my HD and reinstalled MS Office Enterprise 2007, I last used MS Excel on the 08/06/2014 without a problem, today I go to use my Excel spreadsheet and for some weird reason it wants to roundup my cells.
I have cleared the cells formatted the number but it still keeps on rounding up 25799 to 258. I downloaded a stack of MS Office updates 3 days ago, is it possible one of these Updates has corrupted - broken my Excel program?

I am considering uninstalling all of those updates and turning off Updates for MS Office altogether.

Answer:Excel 2007 (MS Office 2007 enterprise)

Hi there.

To test if it's really a software issue, please try out on a new excel spreadsheet and see if the problem is still there. It might not necessarily be the software. Once we have confirmation that the problem exist on a fresh new spreadsheet, then try to do a repair first before uninstalling.

Ok, well up until yesterday my father was using Office 2000 with Microsoft binder for work. He just got a new laptop for work and he's got Office 2007 installed. From the looks of Microsoft's site it states that 'Microsoft Unbind is not included with Office 2007.' Looks like what I really need is Microsoft Binder from Office 2000. Is there a place I can download it (legally) or purchase it? He literally has thousands of binder files (*.obd) that he needs to be able to access. I've tried searching with nothing turning up.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Answer:Microsoft Office Binder (*.obd files) with Office 2007?

So further searching turned up that Unbind for Office XP/2003 is just a waste of time for Office 2007 and no point in looking further into that.

So then I found this:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822622

Which seems to me if I can track down a Office 2000 disc I should be able to install JUST Binder 2000. Results show that it works along side Office XP/2003 so I don't see why it wouldn't with Office 2007. It would only be used to unbind old files, not create new ones.

If anyone has any other thoughts that would be great.
I'll look into what I wrote above tomorrow and post back with the results if need be.

Microsoft has announced the availability of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for the 2007 Microsoft Office system few days back. The update includes major performance enhancements for Office applications, most notably Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. Another big benefit is SP2’s boost to interoperability.
This tutorial will help you to slipstream Office sp2 updates into your Office 2007 DVD.
Follow the simple steps given below.
1. Download Office SP2 update pack
2. create two folders “office2007_setup“, “office2007_sp2” folder under C:\Office directory,
3. Put all your content of Office 2007 DVD and SP2 update file into “office2007_setup” and “office2007_sp2“.
4. Open command prompt and execute the command given below.
“C:\Office\Office2007_sp2>office2007sp2-kb953195-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:C:\Office\Office2007_setup\update”
5. Make the DVD of your integrated Office SP2 suit located into the “office2007_setup” folder and Install it.

Can I still use OOrg for everything, and MSO for things that get emailed to me?

I am guessing I can, and this new CD is licensed for 3 machines, so I might use it on mine, if it's not going to mess up OOrg..

Thanks guys!

Answer:Open Office & Microsoft Office (2007)

Yes, you can run OOorg and MS Office on the same PC. You may run into occasional problems when the PC can't decide which program to use to open a certain document, but this is easily solved by right clicking on the document, and selecting Open With and then selecting the program you want to open it with.

The key should have been included with the documentation when you bought your PC. Unfortunately if it's not included in the documentation there is little likelyhood that you will be able to recover it now you have wiped everything. Have you contacted Dell for support?

I'm using the Windows XP operating system and had Microsoft Office installed on it a while ago. All the applications were working fine when I first got it. Yesterday, when I tried to open Microsoft Excel I get the message that 'the feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available', and it asks me to insert the 'Microsoft Office 2000 Premium' disk and click ok. Unfortunately, I don't have this disk because it was someone else that installed Office on my computer for me. I don't understand why it's not letting me use Microsoft Excel and why I get this message from Windows Installer every time I try to use the application.

It was working fine not long ago and I've used it to make several spreadsheet files, all of a sudden for no apparent reason I'm getting this message every time I try to use it.

Can anyone give me any advice and has anyone had a similiar problem? I would appreciate any help.

Answer:Microsoft Excel help, keeps asking for 'Microsoft Office 2000 Premium' disk

When it was installed, some aspects will be "installed on first use", and now it wants to install the function, for which you need the CD.

You really cannot use it successfully (not to mention legally) if you do not own and have the disks.

Hi-

I have a user we recently upgraded from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Recently she has been experiencing intermittent crashes with her Excel 2007. It usually happens when she is opening a document, the system will say it will run into an error and then shuts down. Answer:MS OFFICE 2007 EXCEL "IF" FUNCTION

It could end up being fairly lengthy but try nested IF functions used with AND

Something like

IF( condition1, value_if_true1, IF( condition2, value_if_true2, value_if_false2 ))

http://www.techonthenet.com/excel/formulas/if_nested.php has a good example at the bottom.

Answer:Office 2007 Word and Excel

First I would recommend reinstalling the Office Suite all together and downloading any updates that go with it. If that doesn't work, I would start looking at which programs you have that have built in Office Add-ons. Some of these add-on capabilities have been known to cause massive slowdowns in Office performance.

I have never used this program that came with my computer. Did not even try it out as I did not want to buy it. I now have 17 updates on my microsoft updates. Since I do not use it, I just uncheck them any time I see updates. Can I totally uninstall Office 2007 from my computer without hurting anything. AND...if can, will I still get those updates every week or so?

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

If a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 came in your computer and you don't need or use it, you can uninstall it.

If you right-click those Office updates and then select to hide them or not to show them again, they shouldn't keep appearing.

I have vista home premium 32bit and i have been recently getting error messages like the following: "the program has stopped working". Microsoft office 2007 was working for about couple of weeks when i installed it, but later on, it started not to work. I tried the repair function, reinstalling it, manually deleting the files and reinstalling it afterwards. I have also tried installing service pack 1 RTM to see if it will fix the problem. But so far, nothing works. Will the offical service pack fix this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

NO as no matter what version you use you will need a serial and Office like other MS products will nto downgrade easily, you will have to uninstall and re-install Home & Student, with a full key for that version.

Anyway a while back my daughter for her online class had to install the trial version of microsoft office professional 2007 mainley to use the office word part. Well now that the trial version has expired none of the features work. If I uninstall this expired version from the computor, will the old version still be present? If the two intermixed will both be uninstalled? I don't know if I have the original installation cd. All that microsoft works stuff was already installed on the computor. Is it at possiable to restore the original microsoft office programs? Thier pretty expensive otherwise!!

I have or had Office XP. Recently I was invited by Microsoft to download something to do with Office 2007 update. I am now confused. What is the difference between a saved file called a Word Document presumably Office XP, and an Office Word Document presumably Office 2007. There is a difference in sizes, that is all I can see. Should I be converting all my old Office XP Word Documents to Office Word Document files? If so, why?

Answer:microsoft office 2007

No, you don't need to convert them. Office 2007 can read files saved in earlier versions. However, earlier versions cannot read Office 2007 files without a converter click here

I am running Service Pack 3 with my dell windows xp pro. I have the orginal Microsoft word, excel etc. suite for 2002. Does Microsoft Office online offer a free download for the Microsoft Office suite for 2007 or will this version of word, excel etc., even work with my outdated windows xp pro?

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

Hi

No free downloads of the full Office 2007 suite are available, there is a trial, but that is a 60 day thing HERE

Office 2007 will work with XP fine, requirements HERE

If you have Office 2002 (XP) and Office 2003 then if users send you docs in Office 2007 formats as in eg, Word is in Office 2002 a .doc and in Office 2007 the default is .docx then you need the Compatability pack to open the Office 2007 docs in Office 2002, 2003 and its free HERE

My 2002 version has corrupted wiping out all my Outlook contacts which I'm not happy about. I also lost the disk which doesn't help. Also, each time I tried to open Word, Windows Installer pops up asking me to install the disk.

A friend advised that he has Office 2007 which he can install and which has the "licence number" built in so it can be used by more then one person. I am a bit confused about that but he states that it has been installed in several computers. If OK, this will save me big bucks.

Should I uninstall 2002 first or will the installation of 2007 just override it?Bear in mind I don't have the 2002 disk eek:where is that damn thing?) so can't confirm any registration codes.

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

as your office 2002 has been corrupted, and u dont have installation disks too, it is better to uninstall office 2002 before installing 2007.

My concern is that she works out of her home and does a lot of communication with people across the state. SHe receives excel spreadsheets from various sources to view and at times edit. My concern is if she edit it and sends it back to the sender that they may not be able to view or edit the spreadsheet correctly if they have an earlier version such as 2000 or 2003. Answer:Microsoft office 2007

Hi

I suggest that you remove Mcafee it?s not the best security software out there it slows the pc down and causes problems. I suggest that you either use Anti Vir, Avast for free antivirus or for paid ones go for Kaspersky / Nod32.

Also a good anti spyware programme as well like Super Anti Spyware Free Edition.

If the above does not work then please try a reinstall of Office.
Hope this helps,

I just recently purchased a new laptop and it finally arrived today. I have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 (I still have enough liscenses left for this laptop) which I was trying to install.

I try to run setup and it attempts to load and then automatically closes and displays the following message:

"Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator."

I am the administrator on this computer. When I try to launch setup on my other laptop that runs 32bit it works just fine. Before I bought the new laptop I checked to see if my software would work on 64bit and the internet said it would. Am I doing anything wrong?

Hello, I bought a new computer in March and it came with a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007. I did some work using it and am wondering if now I will lose it all? It says my time is up trying it out. I have my old Microsoft Office, which I think is 2003 version. How can I save my files I have done and saved on my computer if I uninstall the 2007? I do have a flash drive, will the files work with my old version if I want to work on them again? Sorry if this is a silly question. Karla aka grandmakarla

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

Hi

and no not silly question at all, you'll need this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...70-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en it will give your office 2003 the compatability to open office 2007 docs in which you can then re-save them in Office 2003 format if you wish.

The new Office 2007 formats are very different to previous office formats, although you can if choosing Save As in Office 2007 save the docs in a format that can be opened by previous Office Editions, choose Save As > Word 97-2003 Document.

Or the compatability patch above works fine too.

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007

Open Word and/or Excel, click the "orb" at the top left, and click on "New". Then, on the right side of the New dialog window, there's a pane containing templates, mostly from Office Online, which you can browse from within that window. Once you select a template, if it's not already on your computer, MS Office will automatically download the template for you.

I have two users that are having problems with saving excel 2007 files on a storage server. One will save a file and the next time she opens it and makes changes it will not let her save as an xlsx file. The server shows a ~$file and cannot be deleted. It looks like it is not closing the tmp file and the next time she opens it the it thinks the file is opened by someone else.

Any clues.
Thanks,
Bill;

Hello
In the document library if I click on an word document the document opens in word.
If I click on an excel document it opens in notepad.
If I open Excel and drill down to the libary document excel file the document will open in Excel.
I looked at the document library excel files and noticed that the excel files were associated with notepad.
I then went to 'open with' and located on the desktop Excel.
However when I click on the document library excel file I get 'not a valid win32 app...'
What Excel is linking / associating with / opening with is Excel Component - and not the Excel Application.
Evidently I associated "open with" the Excel Componet - and I simply cannot find the Office 2007 -Excel Application when I browse through for example 'ProgramData' 'Program Files' and so forth.
Where can I find Excel.exe so that I can use the 'open with' ?

Answer:Office 2007 Excel File Association

The exe file you are looking for should be: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Excel.exe

Not sure where to post this, but in the last month Office Word & Excel 2007 have slowed down and progressed to "not responding". Cut & paste are virtually "cut and wait 5 minutes" and maybe it will appear properly.

I have check for viruses with Malwarebytes and AVG and have used Spybot, also. I have also ran MS Diagnostics. Everything seems to be in order.

I am using Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2.

I know this problem has been ongoing for several years, but this is first time I've had to deal with it and MS Support is as usual not helpful.

Would appreciate someone else's clear mind as mine as become muddled trying to remedy the problem.

I have two tabs in my workbook, a master tab (sheet 1) and a deployment tab (sheet 2). The master tab lists all stores with all of their related data. The deployment tab lists only the stores that have had something done to them. Both tabs have the store number listed in column A.
In column B in the master tab, I want it to look at the deployment tab and if there is a match, put a Y and if not a N (or yes/no... whatever). Please help! I can not find the formula.
Thank you,
Charlotte

Greetings!

I have a macro in Excel to filter out rows with zeros. That works good. I want to change the "0" to a text string "(A1)". How do you do that? I tried putting both double and single quotes and it wouldn't work.

TIA for your ideas!

---------------------------------------------------
Option Explicit

Sub HideZeros()
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:="<>0", Operator:=xlAnd End Sub

Sub ShowZeros()
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1
End Sub

Answer:Office 2007 Excel Macro has me stumped...

Try something like this....
Code:

Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:="=[I]TextGoesHere[/I]", Operator:=xlAnd
