Outook 2003 Hyperlinks Fail

Question: Outook 2003 Hyperlinks Fail

I have two problems with Outlook. I don't connect when I click on a hyperlink in an e-mail. And no pictures are displayed.

Relevance 100%
Preferred Solution: Outook 2003 Hyperlinks Fail

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Outook 2003 Hyperlinks Fail

If hyperlinks are not working in Outlook or other Office applications:

Start the Internet Explorer
Select Tools / Internet Options
Click on Programs tab
Make sure that Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser is enabled
Click Reset Web Settings.

Click Start / Run / regsvr32 urlmon.dll

If that single change does not resolve the problem, repeat the process by running the following additional entries:
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)

When I click on a hyperlink in an e-mail I get an error. I must cut & paste the URL to IE. Can anyone solve this? I am using Window XP.

Answer:Outlook 2003 e-mail Hyperlinks Fail

If you get an error message, what is the message. On Internet Explorer> Tools> Internet Options> Programs tab> on E-mail: make sure that Outlook is selected for your email program. At the bottom of the window, make sure that the box is checked: Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser. If you make any changes, then click Apply and OK.

Save this page to your HD using SAVE AS and create a file name with the extension HTML.

For the past two weeks I have noticed that hyperlinks placed in email I am sending are being stripped by Outlook. I use Word 2003 as the email editor. I can write an email, insert (or have automatically convered) emails but if I either send or save those emails, the hyperlinks are removed. The problem does not occur if I use Outlook's email editor.

I have made no setting changes on my system, except moving from XPSP2 beta to XPSP2 Final.

Nothing happens when clicking on hyperlinks in open emails in Outlook Express. IE will not open, nor will the link open if IE is already open.

I am running the following:

Windows XP Home SP2
Outlook Express 6
Internet Explorer 7
All of the above have the latest patches and hot fixes

I have verified the basic Internet Options:
1. Internet Explorer is set to the default browser
2. Outlook Express is set to the default mail program

I have tried a couple of utilities from other forums that attempt to re-register the 'urlmon.dll' file, but this has not helped.

Running WINDOWS 7 HOME PRO & MS OFFICE 2003.

I have several Word documents with hyperlinks in them. One link connects to the internet and the other links connect to specific sections of the documents. All the hyperlinks worked until today. Now none of them work. I get a message saying "this operation has been canceled due to restrictions on this computer. please contact system administrator"

I have hyperlinks in Word Perfect documents that still work fine.

What happened and how can I fix it. Should I uninstall MS OFFICE and re-install it, or is there an easier way to fix the problem?

THANKS

Hi

I use Win XP and have a Word 2003 document with some hyperlinks in it. Ive had this document for a long time and regularly edit it. The hyperlinks have always displayed in the correct way.

Then I think I must have done something, because all of a sudden all the links are displaying in an odd way.

Ive tried the ALT + F9 trick and Ive tried going to options and turning off field codes - none of these things fixes the problem.

The links look like this:
!! HYPERLINK "http://ec.europa.eu/budget/inforeuro/index.cfm?Language=en" http://ec.europa.eu/budget/inforeuro/index.cfm?Language=en ⊥

NB ive had to insert the "!!" and the "⊥" symbol manually because it didnt copy and paste properly. As a result the upside down t is actually not quite the same (its set slightly lower here whereas in the original document its set higher). Also, the "http://..." bit is actually a live hyperlink in blue in the original document.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Many thanks

Periodically I get the following error when I am using my Outlook email program and try to click on a hyperlink.  I am hoping someone can help me with this problem as it is a pain in the butt.  I have already checked Microsoft’s website, downloaded and ran the recommended “fixit” with no success.  I downloaded a batch file entry for my registry which was written by somebody who had this same problem.  If I run this file it corrects the problem for the moment, but then it is back again.  It seems if I have closed Outlook and reopened it the problem happens.  I have also noticed that it can appear if I open Outlook after waking my computer out of “sleep mode”.  As I stated, the problem is sort of intermittent.  Here is the info on my system.  Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:Outlook 2003 Hyperlinks not working

That outlook is old and outdated really. Microsoft doesn't even support outlook anymore they have gone to Live essentials live e-mail which is free. It's like 10 times better. It's ok to keep the office word etc, but outlook just stinks and the security stinks you gotta download 2 service packs just to secure outlook. Outlook is just garbage nothing but problems setting up security certs with it. I highly recommend downloading Microsoft Live Essentials and during the install process just check that you want windows live e-mail. Once it's installed migrate over or import your accounts and mail over to live e-mail from outlook.

Hi, I upgraded to excel 2003 from excel 2000. The 2003 version modified my hyperlinks puting %20 where there had blank spaces. I found why and took care of that problem, but, it didn't change what had been change. So I need to replace the %20 with blank spaces, and since I have thousands to do I was wondering if there was a way to do them all at once with a macro or something.

Thank you

I have a user on Outlook 2003 SP2, who is currently getting the "links are disabled" anti-phishing message when receiving e-mails from within our department. Does anyone know if there is a way to allow links from only specific senders (like a safe list) without allowing them from everyone? The e-mail in question is a daily newsletter, and choosing the "enable links" option after opening a message only works while the message is open, not on future ones. We are on an Exchange 2003 server, if that helps. Any help given would be appreciated.

Hello everyone:

This is my first time posting ever, so please forgive me if I'm unclear...and I'm new to VBA programming...I want to learn it!!

I have an Excel File (See attached example) which was created using karen's Directory Printer of .doc .xls .txt files on one of our drives a work.

I can create an individual hyperlink for a document file in column D using the full path in Column E by right clicking and inserting a hyperlink.
My question/request is: That drive currently has aproximately 8200 files in it. It'll take me a while do hyperlink each by itself.
I have the Column D File names in a named range "File_Name" ='G Files'!$D$3:$D$8829 and Column E "Path_File" ='G Files'!$E$3:$E$8829.
Can a VBA program be created which will Hyperlink the named Column D files to their corresponding named corresponding Column D Paths?

Hi,I am using Frontpage 2003, can anyone tell me what menu to use in FrontPage 2003 to set up the facility where someone clicks on a word on the page and the page jumps down to more details about that word.I think it is similar to a hyperlink, but not the same.Any help appreciated.Dave

Answer:Hyperlinks (or similar) in Frontpage 2003

You're talking about 'Bookmarks' ... at least that's what FrontPage calls them. The rest of the html coding world knows them as Named Anchors. In design mode, place the cursor where you want to jump to and then clik on Insert, Bookmark. From anywhere else in your site you can add a hyperlink as usual but when seeting the hyperlink look for the Bookmark button.

Whenever I double-click on a hyperlink embedded in the body of an email, instead of opening the intended web-page, the SAVE AS dialog box appears and prompts me for a fille name to save the hyperlink as.

Even more interestingly, the SAVE AS dialog box sees the hyperlink as an executable file and not an HTML type file. Furthermore, even if I do assign it a files name, when I hit SAVE, nothing happens!

Any ideas ??

If IE is your default browser, check the file associations for the following.
Open Windows Explorer> Tools> Folder Options> File Types.

URL:Hypertext Transfer protocol with Privacy
In each click the Advanced button. In the Actions box, click open, and then click Edit. In the Application Used To Perform Action box should have:

Click Tools.

In the Options dialog box, select the Edit tab.
Uncheck Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink.

This one got my stumped.

When I paste links in new messages in Outlook 2003 it does not automatically create hyperlinks like it used to. I can of course manually right click on the text and create hyper link but it will not do it automatically.

I am using word 2003 as an email editor. However, hyperlinks are automatically generated when I create word documents. Only in new outlook messages is where it won't automatically generate hyperlinks.
Also, I can receive hyperlinks in email fine and are click-able and everything.
I've also tried sending it just in rich text instead of html, but no go.

When people receive my emails with hyperlinks, they're not underlined or clickable.

I disabled firewall and anti-virus but no go.

I looked everywhere on net but found nothing.

I have Windows 7 Pro

Any help is appreciated

Hi,

I have been contaminated with hidden hyperlinks in an Excel 2003 workbook, and I can't get rid of them.

I copy-pasted a table of data from a website, however there were some columns with links in there, and they got pasted with the data. What happens is I have blank cells, and over some of them, the cursor changes the way it should over a hyperlink, and a pop-up appears. When I click into the cell to type something, the link opens in my browser instead.

I also have something else happening in those cells. Sometimes there's a little shape appearing, the sort which seems related to drawing or images (sorry, I can't be specific here, I don't know the name of that object nor what it is, and it's a foreign version of Office).

I've tried the following :

Deleting the columns.
Right-clicking over each cell and deleting the invisible hyperlink.
Creating a new sheet and copying only the adjacent data, without the contaminated columns.
Running this macro.

Nothing works. I tried to create my own hyperlinks in those contaminated cells and they work (links to local files), however I have also the parasitic, phantom links remaining : when I hover somewhere on the left of the cell, it's that link that is detected and not mine. When I copy-paste those cells someplace else in the sheet, both links get copied : mine, and the phantom one. And both "work". Another experiment : when I delete the column contaminated by the phantom links, they "jump" to the adjacent bl... Read more

Hello forum people,

Wondering if someone can shed some light on an anoying problem i'm experiencing.

I've designed a spreadsheet using Excel 2003 for a small consultancy. They are using windows 2003 small business edition and their network adminstrator claims that everyone has read/write acess to all the shared drives with no restrictions. However, in testing they have found the following problem:

If they create a hyperlink in the workbook to a file on one particular shared drive (R as soon as they save the workbook, the hyperlink doesn't work anymore. Curiously the hyperlink to the R: drive does work before you save the workbook. Even more curiously, hyperlinks to files on any other of the shared drives continue to work fine.

I hope someone out there with more brains than I can help me out.
Thanks!

Greetings........

I've had this registry problem before with XP I believe, and resolved it by entering the following infor off the Microsoft website into the Windows Start box and hitting enter which brought up a popup which stated the item was fixed...... with Vista it doesn't work. IE 7 is set as my default web browser. Does anyone have a suggestion?

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:1. Click Start, click Run, type the following command in the Run dialog box, and then click OK:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

2. Repeat step 1 for each of the following commands:

regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll

The problem is not only effecting hyperlinks, but also my receiving email.

I would suggest that you uninstall and then reinstall in compatibility mode. Type compatibility mode in search. If it is not found, go to the help section.

For some reason, I cannot open Hyperlinks from e-mail messages in Outlook 2003. When I try, I get the following message: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator".

I currently have Firefox 3 as my default browser, however, if I change it to IE, I still have the problem. Please help!

Answer:Solved: Trouble with Hyperlinks in Outlook 2003

Apparently, Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 was causing the problem. I uninstalled the update and reverted back to Internet Explorer 7 and the problem solved itself. I was able to default to Firefox 3 without a problem.

The first thing to check is whether the sheet is protected. Have a look at "Protection" on the "Tools" menu.

I made IE11 the default browser in Windows 10. When I go to Outlook 2003 and click on a link, it does not show up in IE11. When I go over to IE11, I am looking at the home page. If I x out that tab, I see the note that I clicked on in the screen area. It looks like it tried. I made FireFox the default and the link work. I then made IE11 the default again and used other apps that had links and they all opened pages in IE11. So it seems that it is an Outlook 2003 and IE11 problem. I found a couple of hits on Google where it discusses the problem but it says that I should see an error message when this happens and I do not see one. It also mentions using the Microsoft Fix it tool. When I go to the fixit tool, it states that Office 2003 is no longer supported and mentions the two messages that I do not see. Also, there is no fix-it for windows 10.

I know that Office 2003 is no longer supported but I ran out of Office 2010 licenses so I am running Office 2003 on this laptop. It worked fine under Windows 8.1.

I am wondering if anyone else had this problem or can offer me some guidance as to what to
do.

I have switched to the Mail app where I send the messages to a Gmail account and get the messages using the Mail app and all works but I am not really excited about it.

Some how hyperlinks has been turn off on my Outlook 2003. Now when I click on a link it brings up the "save as" action. I tried holding down the control key and clicking on the link but no good.

I am using XP Professional with all the latest updates. I have Office Professional 2003 with latest updates. I also use Zonealarm Suite.

Any ideals.

Hi, all.

I've searched here and Googled. The problem (but no solution) has been posted elsewhere and I'm hoping someone here can help.

Problem: Nearly 1,000 hyperlinks in an Excel 2003 workbook now point to the wrong directory/drive and need to be repointed. For example:

Old hyperlink: ///dsnetapp\\100\125\data\[doc name].pdf
New hyperlink: I:\100\125\data\[doc name].pdf

All of the documents to which the hyperlinks point have been moved to a new drive and no longer work.

What I've tried: Search and replace (doesn't work), manually editing a single hyperlink (doesn't work). Everything reverts back t the ///dsnetapp\\ address. The workbook, worksheet, and cells are not protected. The workbook is not read-only.

The only thing that seems to work is re-doing each hyperlink (go into Edit Hypelink, navigate to new location, select pdf, and save). I would like to find some fix that's less time-consuming and would appreciate any assistance.

Thank you.

Brent

I am using Outlook 2003 with Vista Home Professional and Internet Explorer.

All of a sudden, when I click on a hyperlink in Outlook, it takes me to my Internet Explorer home page rather than to where it is supposed to.

I have seen several posts on this subject in this forum and have tried them all without success. I started with the "cancelled due to restrictions on this computer" message, fixed that but then it started opening up the home page. I uninstalled Office and reinstalled it and then when I clicked on the hyperlink, it opened the Local Link Browser. Fixed that, but now I am back to the hyperlink opening up the home page.

This all started because my computer was running extremely slowly. Painfully slow. I found that the cause of the slowness was Google Chrome files that were left behind after I uninstalled it. Somehow in the process of cleaning up those files, I must have done something that affected Outlook and hyperlinks.

Any ideas? I was sure that reinstalling Office would fix the problem, but it hasn't.

Again, I have tried editing the registry, setting IE as my default browser. I have also looked at file associations. Nothing works. I do not have Firefox installed as was noted in several of the posts that were similar to what I am experiencing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OK guys, this is driving me crazy, I have two clients that have this issue. When they click any hyperlink in outlook 2003, it takes them to their home page, and if you hover your mouse pointer over it, it sais "blocked" then the web address. I searched for about three hours on google, and here is what I have done so far. One article suggested going into the Tools/Folder Options/File types from explorer, then selecting the [NONE] Internet Shortcut, and then checking settings there, which are all correct. I have rolled back to IE6, still opens only the home page. Checked for settings in Outlook Express 2003 everywhere, etc. I am really stumped and any help would surely be appreciated, here is some more info about this users computer.
OS- Windows XP, current on all service packs
- Office 2003
Thank you all again for any support,

I have been used to using Word 97, but the company has upgraded me to 2003. I am using the Print Layout to create my documents, and when I create a hyperlink, the hyperlink shows up in underlined blue, but it won't work. It will work if I view the document in Reading Layout, but that doesn't do me any good, since that layout does'nt look anything like the Print Layout. Can anyone make any suggestions?

Answer:Solved: Word 2003 - Hyperlinks don't work in Print Layout

It works.
It's just that Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, decided to make us Ctrl+Click for a hyperlink.

Otherwise, you can change the setting on your PC to NOT require the Ctrl key.
Tools-Options-Edit tab. Second checkbox on the right...

And don't you just LOVE that Reading Layout feature?

A client of mine has a problem with SP3 updates for MS Office Pro 2003. Every day an update (SP3) for Office Pro 2003 tries to install and fails (Error 1603), This produces an orphan *msp file in his Windows\Installer folder. His folder eventually contained 20Gb of orphans.I must find out how to stop these irritating updates, Any clues? A search on Google shows many similarly afflicted people but no cure. RegardsAwestruck

Answer:MS Office 2003 Pro SP3 updates fail to install

Try going to the MS Update Site, find that update and set it at "Do not show me again" - might work. The other alternative is to set auto update to notify but do not download or install. The client could then check himself and do a custom download and install - bit of an irritation I admit.

Recently a customer of the company I work for did some upgrade to their system (not exactly sure what). The result is that when they send a mail containing a hyperlink to file on their website, the link doesn't work.
When you hover over the link you should get something like 'https//thiscompany.com/page.do?DOCID=123456'.
However, what we actually get on Outlook 2003 is 'outbind://39-00000000C176F3FF67E6754394476777057BDCA60700071475F5FEB9AC4FABB3D7C8EE9381620000007059

On mac mail it looks like this 'x-msg://24/thiscompany.com/page.do?DOCID=123456'.

The links work fine on Outlook 2010. Any idea what's happening here?

First of all forgive my ignorance, I'm a general PC support tech with very little knowledge of Access.
I had a problem after reimaging to Windows 7 and reinstalling Access 2003: while clicking a form button, run-time error 438. The solution was to find a missing support library file install and register it.
Installing and registering the missing file fixed the problem but not until I replaced the data base file with a backed up copy. It seems the original copy of the mdb file will continue to fail even after the repair.
Is there a check box or setting I can change that will "reset" the data base /button?
This would save a lot of work deleting and replacing data.

Answer:Solved: Access 2003 once failed continues to fail

DavidBrianBest, welcome to the Forum.
I am not sure what you mean by "Is there a check box or setting I can change that will "reset" the data base /button?"
There are a few things that you can do to to work with the Database, you haven't actually said if the data in the original database is intact or not, or if any other forms etc work or not.
First of all I would take one or more copies of the original database and then try the following
Compact & repair one of the copies, add the missing dll link and see if that works.
If your Backup copy works OK with the dll link re-instated then create a new blank database and then Import the Data tables form the original database and the Queries, Forms & Reports from the Backup database, set the all the required VBA Library References and try that version.

Outlook configuration has not changed... the problem (no mail in or out of Outlook 2003) coincides with some security changes I made to my system a couple of days ago. I uninstalled AVG Antivirus, AVG AntiSpyware, Kerio Personal Firewall, Ewido, and Adaware. I then installed Antivir and Spyware Terminator then reinstalled the latest version of Kerio Personal Firewall. My firewall settings were all saved, but the mail issue persists even when I kill the firewall and spyware terminator. I've even disabled Antivir... all to no avail. New email accounts don't function either

It is not the mail servers since I'm using comcast, gmail and an exchange server... none of them are connecting. I've rebooted the computer and I've tried the detect/repair tool in Outlook

My system is running XP Pro SP2.

Any ideas?

I have two Windows 7 64 bit systems that worked perfectly until approx two weeks ago. They started becoming unresponsive to various websites, such as b1015.com (unable to listen live). Both computers then started having problems opening sites through google searches.

Following this, most updates on both computers fail. Downloads from the internet fail. Updating flash on one - failed. downloading .net framework update - failed.

One computer has MSE - updated and ran scan - no threats found
One computer has AVast - updated and ran scan - no threats found

Tried to download malwarebytes on the computer with avast - failed
went to XP station - downloaded to thumb drive and installed from thumb drive and ran  - no threats found

from cmd prompt -  ran sfc /scannow on both computers  -  no problems found

Can anyone give me any ideas of where to go from here to get both of these computers working properly again

Hi

I always keep a backup of my Outlook .pst file just n case I need it...

Just doing a back up and notice that the files do not have any association linked... I am sure it used to show the Outlook icon but can't be sure... can anyone confirm this.. I did try to link to Outlook but is failed...

This is what I mean...

This is what I get when I try to associate it to Outlook... Which seems odd... unless it is because Outlook is open?

Answer:Outook Office 365 .pst

Mine have the Outlook association, I'm using the Office 2016 package rather than the Office 365 but should be same.

I would advise you use the installer (uninstaller - Change), to do a repair rather than manually setting the association as the Office associations are not standard

Question: outook calendar

Bought a new laptop, took my Office 2000 Professional to be installed, instead he put on another Outlook. I installed Outook 2000, removed his program and now I get an error re:pst file. Any idea why I can't send/receive mail?

Question 2: My three year old laptop worked fine until the power cord somehow pulled the plug-in from the motherboard. Repair shop kept it for three weeks, said they soldered it several times and it wouldn't hold, so they sold me a new one. Did I get ripped off or is it next to impossible to fix?

Thanks so much for any advice given,
PattyB

Answer:outook calendar

Hello and Welcome to TSF

I cannot answer your first question, there is not enough information to go off of. You need to post a complete error message and when you recieve this error.

As for question 2, yes you can solder those connections back on to the motherboard but sometimes they dont hold as they stated. You may just have had a unexperienced person do the soldering, hard to tell.

Here we go again - another problem with Outlook, but this time I think it is Yahoo UK (please note UK):

I have had 1 email acct with gmail and 2 email accts with Yahoo UK. They have worked fine until a few days ago. When I try send/receive one Yahoo account came up with error 0x800CCC92. I finally removed it and when I tried putting it in as new, the test message would not work. After repeated attempts, I now can send for some reason, but for receiving I get:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your email server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR (AUTH) Incorrect username or password.

I can access my email on the web for that account with no problem. All of the settings are exactly the same as the Yahoo account that works and I still cannot get the incoming to work on this one.

Any ideas?

I found this:

Save the email as a template. Select the "Office" button, and then "Save As" in the "Save as type" drop-down list. Select "Outlook Template." Give the template a name, and choose a file location, or accept the default folder of "Templates." Click "Save."

BUT there is no option in the SAVE AS drop down menu for Save As Template....

I've been having problems with Outlook Express crashing and/or having problems that keep giving me an error message about the log file being too big or something. I keep my sent file folder and deleted file folder relatively empty. My inbox has less than 20 items in it, none of them huge. Can anyone tell me how and where I can fix this? If there is no fix, if I download a new copy of Outlook Express over the old one, will my address book reamin in tact? Thanks for your help.

Answer:Outook Express - log file problem

Try some maintenance first and see if this helps to clear it up.
Close all programs except Outlook Express, including any antivirus programs you may have running.

First in OE, Tools>Options>Maintenance, uncheck the option for: Compact messages in the background and leave it unchecked from now on.

File>Folder>Compact all Folders. Leave the computer alone until it has completed compacting.

Let us know if this resolves the problem or not.

I am operating on Windows 7 OS and am having difficulty with Outlook for Office 2010. It always asks for a password each time I sign on and when I open an email. For some reason it doesn't store my password.

Answer:Outook 2010 always requires password

That problem is by no means unique to Outlook 2010, it happens also on Outlook 2007 and on the version before that, and neither is it unique to Windows 7.

Try putting your POP3 server name and password into the "Credential Manager" in Control Panel. For good measure I entered my email credentials twice -- in "Windows Credentials" and in "Generic Credentials". I hardly see that pesky password prompt since doing that.

I created a database in Access 2007. I am a relative newbe at this. One of the functions that I am using is a macro that Microsoft supplied as part of a Contacts table/form template to add Contacts from Outlook to the Contacts table in the the database. It was working just fine until I split the database, putting the tables on a server and the front end on my local PC. After splitting, it will no longer work. I have spent hours searching the Web and found 100's for people asking the same question, but no solution. Front and back end files are all in Trusted locations. Went back to a copy of the pre-split database (which still worked) and copy the object to the new split database. Would not work in the new database. . Saw some talk about using a temp Contacts table, but it did not give enough detail for me to follow.

Anyone have any ideas

I am building up a new computer and I want to be able to transfer my Favorites, my Address Book entires, and a number of EMails that I have in my current computer to my new computer.

Unfortunately, i'm not near a 2007 machine to check for further solutions at the moment.

I would like to know how to import or is it export my entire outlook email content to my desktop in a version that will last no matter what happens to the email server and access to it.
I have a mac as well as a pc. The pc has outlook on it. I do not believe I have outlook on my mac. Could someone explain step by step how I can save these emails? I want them to be saved as they are with no changes possible.
Thanks!

Microsoft have virtually forced Android Outlook users onto their new Outlook. I use Outlook on my Nexus 7. Since installing the new Outlook I find that the Contacts doesn't fully synchronize. It worked fine under the old Outlook. It seems to need loads of time to populate the Contacts file, and some of the details still have not filled in fully yet. Can anyone shed light on this issue

i have a csv file with my contacts from old outlook. how can i import all the contacts in one go into outlook 2007? i know how to do individually but have a lot of contacts
thanks for any help

Answer:import multiple contacts into outook 2007 from csv

Read this. Although for Excel it should work for any csv file. Map custom fields is fairly important.
It would have been easier to have created a pst file of your old contacts (export as pst) and then imported that.

Here is my scenario

End-user has a blackberry in which I updated the DST 2007 patch on it. On the PC side, I ran WindowsXP-KB931836-x86-ENU which updated the DST on the PC. I also ran Microsoft tzmove patch for Outlook. Both patch ran successfully. When EU enters an appointment in his blackberry at 3pm it shows up in his Outlook at 4pm. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with an Outlook 2007 issue a user has been having. Last week, our exchange server was flooded by a lot of e-mails, causing our users messages they tried to send out to fail and given a Outlook delivery delayed message for each. The issue was solved but I have one user who still has a delivery delayed mail in this inbox and upon trying to open it, Outlook crashes and if you try to deleted it, you get the message:

"One or more items in the folder you synchronized do not match. To resolve the conflicts, open the items, and they try this operation again."

I was thinking this notification was in sync with the e-mail that was delayed, so I did a search and couldn't not find anything related to it. Any ideas on who to get rid of this troublesome message?

I know there have been some posts going back over a year, but none of them fully solve this issue. For years, the best way to sync Outlook 2010(without corporate exchange server) to the windows phone has been to use the Google Calendar connector to get to their cloud and then onto the Windows phone. This had the advantage of doing two-way synchronization and working with the default calendar in Outlook (the existing .PST file).
Google fully discontinued this service on August 1. Microsoft does not have as simple a solution. The two options I've seen for cloud syncing are to use the Microsoft Hotmail Connector and to use Google App Sync. The Hotmail Connector does not work with the default Outlook profile which means than when an invitation is received from any email account other than hotmail/outlook.com it saves to the default calendar, and you then have to copy it to the hotmail calendar in order to sync. The Google App Sync requires a whole different profile with a migration which is an equally big headache or possibly greater. So, neither of these options work without making a lot of manual intervention.
I've been using a local sync program called CompanionLink to sync contacts, notes and tasks. It can sync the calendar but has a couple of disadvantages. 1) you need to manually sync calendar which is not good if constantly on the go and always want to have your appointments. 2) CompanionLink does not feed appointments into the native calendar so it won't appear on the loc... Answer:How to sync Outook 2010 (non-corporate) with Windows phone?

Frankly the best solution is to sign up for MS Office 365. The cheapest plan (Exchange Online) is $4 per month per user, so for $48/year, you'll get seamless sync of contacts, calendar, tasks, and if you choose, email and more, across Outlook and Windows Phone.
Not free, but works much better than Google's App Sync, the Hotmail Connector, and any of the local sync solutions, and it'll work great with any other devices you add in to sync with (since everything supports EAS).

Hi all. Irritating & timewasting beyond belief - even for Microsoft - is a hidden shortcut in either Outlook 2007, Office 2007 or perhaps in Windows 7. Centred apparently on the "T" key, a combination of keystrokes reduces the display size of text I type. At enormous waste of time, each occurrence can be remedied, via the View tab in Outlook 2007, then the "zoom" facility. But how do I a) locate the set up instructions for this shortcut, and b) alter or reload them?

I'm a reasonably sensitive typist: this glitch is wasting sooo much of my time. Am in the dire straights of using new Windows 7, with new Office 2007 apps, on a new laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1545.

Advice on shortcut set-up in Outlook 2007, and or in Windows 7 will be much appreciated. Thanks

Answer:Outook 2007 or Windows 7 keyboard shortcut, reducing size of display text.

Is it a laptop you are using.....if so are you sure its not the zoom function on the touch pad

I have a custom built PC, installed with Windows XP. Lately its been having trouble, but it is full blown rebellion as of last night. I think its probably a virus but I'm not that experienced with diagnosing.
Issues:
`My web browser (FireFox) crashes when trying to view certain things; PDF files are the main crash point
`I have a 16 GB flash drive that I have to reformat it every time I use it, which doesn't fix the problem it just lets me transfer again until I have to format it again.
`I have two hard drives that make up c,d,e,f,i,j,and k drives. When I opened "My Computer" I,J,and K:/ were missing. I couldn't see or access them.
`Its been freezing up a lot; forcing me to reboot
`(most recent)Now when I try to reboot it will rapidly switch screens from the black scanning, log in, windows xp (with the blue bar filling up), and a blue error screen. The blue error screen says to reboot if its the first time i've seen this; then it gives steps to follow if i've seen it before.

I've tried to run it in safe mode and it hasn't worked.

Please if you have any ideas let me know. Is it possible to recover my saved files? I backed up my files awhile ago but it is saved on a drive that is missing (I,J,or K) If you need more info just ask. Thanks for your help

Answer:Windows XP Crash Issues - Hard Drive fail, start up fail

Hi there
So what I gather is that you now cannot start your computer up at all, due to this issue. I'm actually unsure of the problem, it sounds to me like a Virus has been at your computer. It can't really be a hardware issue I don't think... I mean it is possible that what could have been happening is that your computer (Desktop or Laptop?) is overheating and its been damaged because of that... But that wouldn't really make sense, and also having Custom Built a computer I'm sure you'd have been smart enough to install a thoroughly capable cooling system.
It sounds to me like your hard drive has been corrupted though, BSOD usually means a pretty big issue. Thats why I was thinking hardware problem to begin with, you don't often get it for Virus's.
A couple of things we need to know:
Do you have any sort of Anti-Virus installed? If so, which one? How frequently did it scan? Did you find any virus's?
Also, how far into the boot process does the computer get before it loops? Are you able to enter BIOS settings before Blue Screen comes up and it loops? What happens when it loops?
And do you have a startup / boot disk for your computer. You certainly should do.

Hi, l've been having a constant issue with my computer and I can't seem to get out of this trouble no matter how many times I reinstall and even wipe out my hard drive.

I wiped out everything in my hard drive and installed windows 7 Ultimate for the '7th' time, and the same problems happen every single time.

Right after the install, it seems to work fine but as I install numerous windows updates as it recommended (almost forced me to, 'cause it does automatically), my computer becomes so slow in everything.

It doesn't start up, the menu and such looks as if I'm in a safe mode (blocky and old looking) even if I manage to start it up, have to wait more than 15min or even 1hr for it to respond.

The situation I'm having now is, the pop up message saying:
"Failed to connect to a windows service: windows couldn't connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This prevents standard user from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond"

Also, the computer has been failing at installing several updates such as:
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2763523)(KB2719857)(KB2735855)(KB2750841)(KB2732059)

Because of that, it sometimes ran chkdsk on the boot screen and deleted/fixed files.

I don't think it's ... Read more

Hi guys a lot of research online brings me here, and I hope this will be the last stop before I put my fist through the screen of my laptop.

So a few days ago my computer can't connect to wireless, stuck in Limited mode. Troubleshoot says - "wireless connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration". i've uninstalled the driver, put valid settings from another laptop I have, I've uninstalled Bonjour, i've put netsh commands.. still nada. The USB connection I could use to tether also stopped working. I've tried other wifi connections and they don't work either. The strangest thing is that itunes won't recognize the phone, but windows does and i can go inside the folders.
I have the 169.254.x.x ipconfig forgot the name but like I've read here before it can't get to DHCP.

The laptop is 6 months old lenovo windows 7.
Would really appreciate some input on what else to try. Thank you!
