Check dates in check register

Question: Check dates in check register

greetings,
when I try to enter checks in the check register, I cannot set the check date to anything other than today's date (ie, the day I am trying to enter the check).

I have googled, etc, but cannot find the cause of this problem.

Anybody have an idea ?

thanks in advance.

Preferred Solution: Check dates in check register

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Is there a way to copy my register off of my pc to my tablet. I already have Quicken 2016 installed on the tablet.

What "register" are you referring to?

Does anyone know of a program similar to a checkbook register where entries made are added or subtracted automatically?
Years ago Quicken had a simple program available - it worked until I recently did a complete new install of Windows 10. I downloaded a "starter" version of Quicken, but it's far more complicated than the "freebies" they gave away.

Answer:check book register

Microsoft Office has templates available on their site if you have Excel installed. Most of the Office templates will work with the Free LibreOffice. Quicken used to be simple some years ago but got more complicated over time as people wanted more features but did not want QuickBooks.

I'm using Excel, and I have dates entered in 3 consecutive cells. I need a logic test to check all three cells for a date and if there is a date in any of the three cells return the cell value plus 7 days.

Answer:Logic test to check multiple cells for dates and add days

Your question is a bit unclear. You say you have "dates entered in 3 consecutive cells" then you ask for a test to see "if there is a date in any of the three cells".So, I can only assume that you meant to say that you might have dates in those 3 cells and you if you do, you want to add 7 to the dates. If that's true, what happens is there is a date in all three cells? I can't tell if you are trying to add 7 days to each date individually in 3 separate cells, or if you want one formula to check for a date in any of the cells and add 7 to the first date it finds. Please clarify your requirements.Click Here Before Posting Data or VBA Code ---> How To Post Data or Code.

I am also new to Access 2010 so am slowly learning my way around. I need an iif statement that will allow me to create a new column telling me whether one date field (Course Date) is within or outside the range of two other date fields (Previous Effective Date) and (Previous Expiration). I hope that someone can help me solve this issue quickly. I've tried various ways to write the statement and none of them worked. One statement only returned the information as all being outside of the range, which I could clearly see was not true. Here are some examples of what I tried. None of these worked at all. Thanks. Joyce

=IIf(([course date]>=[Previous Effective Date] and <=[Previous Expiration Date]),"between dates",IIf([course date]<=[Previous Effective Date] and >[Previous Expiration Date]),"outside date range")

In/Out Range: IIf(([course date]>=[Previous Effective Date]),"between dates", And IIf([course date]>=[Previous Expiration Date],"outside date range "))

In/Out of Range: IIf(([course date]>=[Previous Effective Date] And <=[Previous Expiration Date], "between dates") And IIf([course date]<=[Previous Expiration Date] And >=[Previous Expiration Date], "outside date range"))

Hey All,

Is there a way in Microsoft Money 2004 to open up my checking account register and than export (copy) the account register to an Excel Worksheet? I don't want to just send a report, I want to copy my checking account to an Excel Workbook so that when I open the Excel Worksheet, it looks like a checkbook register.

I than want to be able to enter data into my Excel Workbook and use this as a backup of my check register.

The problem start with my wife's PC. It started a few weeks ago she told me. She can't open Outlook Express (doesn't start), access My Space or get updates at Windows Update. Also some images on sites do not load.

I then checked my PC and found, I couldn't access Windows Update, My Space, Thunderbird fails to retrieve emails. I have not noticed any issues with images.

Given this sounded like some of the behaviors I have heard of trojans doing I thought I would post my logs here and see if anyone sees anything out of place. Normally I wouldn't consider a cross contamination but about two weeks I temporarily set up a home network between our PCs to share a few files. The next day I disabled NetBIOS on my PC but as we are both behind a hardware firewall, I guessing if it happened it must have happened then.

Nothing jumps out at me but I wanted to get a second opinion.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is verifying files by check sum / content after transferring (copying, moving) indeed unreliable?

Since "ever" I - if I checked files at all - checked files by content or check sum after transferring them, so this information sounds very astonishing to me now, I hadn't had any clue about what I read here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2012/09/19/10350645.aspx

Obviously meaning in many cases checking files by content / check sum checks the data in the buffer, if I see it right.

So, is it like that? Does it refer to all of the synchronizing / backup / copying, check sum, etc. programs?

And what is the best / easiest way to (automatically) check files after transferring. E.g. when copying all of the files of a 4TB drive to another one.

Kletus...

I'm not in my league with this, but could this make sense?

I think the article is referring to times when you are seeking to verify data across a network span between two systems (operating systems), where system b (copy destination) requests a checksum from system a (file original location). I believe the author is saying that in that particular situation checksums would be created from the cache/buffer on both computers. In the case of you copying to a secondary disk connected to a single computer I think the checksum should work fine. Sounds like one of those programmer's dilemmas to me.

Sorry if I am off on this. I know you are looking for some programming expertise. I'll just say that reading this, it made sense to me about the author's comments:

This really sounds like you're overthinking it.

First, what possible reason would there be for giving someone write access but not read access to a certain location? That's screwed up on so many different levels...

Second, you're right that having the sender compute a checksum of the destination file is a bad idea for all the reasons mentioned. But why did you even think of doing that in the first place?!? If I was implementing a system like that, I'd have the *destination* system compute the checksum on the file it received and send it back to the sender for verificati... Read more

Hi, i have hp pavilion g6 laptop and its upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 then windows 10.  From last few days i was getting "Memory_Management", "Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error" and so many other errors with blue screen. Due to this i have to power off the system from main power button by holding for few seconds. Now i was getting hang problem. I saw in task manager that DISK UTILIZATION was 100%. Answer:Hard Drive Short DST Check : WARNING and Optimized DST Check...

Yes you need to replace the hard drive. Since you have upgraded to Windows 10 it is very easy to get recovery media directly from the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. For most people, the problem is not physically swapping out the hard drive, but restoring the operating system since they do not have recovery disks. Post back if you want a service manual and/or video showing the replacement, purchase options for a new hard drive and step-by-step for restoring Windows 10. We would need the full model...g6-????

My daughter called me and asked what was wrong with her monitor. She said that when she starts her computer she gets this message "Self check, check your PC and signal cable, monitor is working" and no other display...

kds x-flat monitor, onboard video, XP, AMD

She has unplugged and replugged the video cable several times... any ideas why this is?

Answer:Self check, check your PC and signal cable, monitor is working

That suggests that the computer is not booting, or if it is, there is no video output.

The monitor is simply saying "I am OK, but the computer isn't sending me anything"

A simple check to see if the computer is booting is to try the CAPS Lock key. Pressing it will toggle the CAP light on and off each press, if the PC is running.

I have what I believe is a probably Hard Disk failiure; however, the Windows utility provides different output than the error codes provided by the System level check. The below is from my OS check:Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.C:\Users\user>wmicwmic:root\cli>diskdrive get statusStatusOKwmic:root\cli> It seems to indicate status as OK. However, the system level Hardware Test before booting shows the following:Failiure ID is: 9PMPKK-5B284T-XD002K-60QS03Product ID is XG809UA#ABA  I assume the OS level SMART Test is less reliable, then? Thanks!

Hi all

I have been trying to create an Excel macro that deletes only the check mark inside the check box albeit with no success. Is there a way to do this?? I have plenty of check boxes and it is taking me a lot of time to go into each one and delete only the check marks. It would be would be pretty neat to create a macro to delete the check marks in every single check box. If someone out there has figured out how to do it, it would be a great help.

Thanks

The company I'm working for has grown a lot and now I'm no longer the only programmer. We're looking for an app that lets us do code check-in/check-out that'll also store all the changes.

All the files we need monitored are plaintext, and we do most of our development in Notepad or Notepad++. The app must work in Server 2003.

Any suggestions?

If it ain't one thing, it is another with this computer.
My spell check is having a nervous breakdown. It checks and offers alternatives for almost every word. This check can include words such as A or An, It, etc. At times I get spellings for words nowhere similar
In a paragraph similar in length to the preceding one, I might have suggetions for practically every word.
Plus, the auto check feature is not working

What is the best check -in check-out asset management software? A list of what's out there would be appreciated because I cant seem to find an authoritative one of what's best for asset management (game development). I hear Alien brain is good and there's one that starts with a 'p' that I can't remember the name of it to save my life... Alien brain is too expensive and hard to find. It's an open source project so I know the 'p' one would work because they offer open source licenses so if anyone knows what Im talking about feel free to enlighten me.

Something similar to Project but with asset management and check in/check out functionality would be great if anyone could suggest something. A step beyond that would be real time preview of maya scenes, psds, and xsi files. But maybe I want too much with the latter...

edit: Oh and it doesn't have to be free, Im just curious as to what's out there...

Running the Computer Check Disk Function
Step 1
Determine whether you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista. XP users can simply click on the "Windows Start Button" and then go to the "Run" link. Once run pops up type in "CMD" and hit enter which will cause the MS DOS prompt to appear. Type in "CHKDSK /r" which will check for hard disk errors. Vista users need to click on "Start" then go to "Accessories" followed by "System Tools" and then run the MSDOS program followed by "CHKDSK /r"
Step 2
Insert your restore CD if errors are found and not fixed by the check disk function listed above.
Step 3
Turn your computer off and then back on. You'll be asked to hit any button to boot from your CD; press any key. You will then be asked if you want to install a fresh version of your OS or "Repair" a current copy. Choose the "Repair" option and allow the computer to go through the necessary steps.
Step 4
After the repair function has run, turn your computer off and then back on. Wait and see if the computer shuts down again. If it does not shut down, your computer's restore function has fixed the file, which was probably caused by a bad system file.
Fixing Computer Shut Downs Via The Power source

Today, I was online, reading the news and noticed that the pages were loading slower and slower. Using IE 8. Anyways, I got the Blue Screen of Death with (this is the first time I've seen this message):

Hardware Malfunction
Call hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error
The system has halted

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop
Win XP, Svc Pack 3
RAM: 1GB
BIOS version: Dell Inc. A03 (2006)
Recent changes to computer: Upgraded from IE 7 to IE 8 12 Apr 09, Windows Auto Update 15 Apr 09, Reg Fix Pro Update 16 Apr 09

After rebooting, I came to your site and checked out some similar posts, I've blown away the dust and went to the link for memtest86, downloaded, installed and updated drivers.

So, far have not received this msg again, but there were some other suggestions I'd like to try. How do I clear CMOS & set BIOS? (And years ago I heard the term - flash the BIOS is this the same thing? Or something else & do I need to do it?) Can you give me guidance on opening up a laptop to reseat & switch memory (I've only opened a desktop)? I did try to go into Setup (F2), but most fields were unchangeable. The battery is 100% charged and performing normally.

Any other things I should do?

Thanks so much!

Answer:parity check/memory parity check

There should be a slot on the bottom to get to the memory. Laptop memory sits flat, you will press 2 clips on the RAM holder and the memory will come up about 45 degrees. You can then lift it out of the slot. To install new memory, you slide it into the holder then press it down so it lies flat and you will hear it click in place.

As far as BIOS, avoid flashing it. If this is the first problem you've had and the error seems to point to memory, you do not need to do anything with your BIOS.

Hi – I need some help.

I have a log that lists the start date and end date of my fleet of cars. I want to be able to tell how many cars we had in our fleet on any day (and then be able to average out the number of vehicles in a month)

What I have is two columns with the first containing the start date of the car and the second containing the termination date of the car.

Example

Code:

21/04/2006 20/04/2010
21/04/2006 20/04/2010
27/04/2006 26/04/2010
28/04/2006 27/04/2010
1/05/2006 28/04/2010
3/05/2006 29/04/2010
3/05/2006 30/04/2010
12/05/2006 11/05/2010
17/05/2006 1/05/2010

On another sheet I have dates starting 1/1/2003 incrementing by a day up to 2013. What I am looking for is a way to count how many times each of the dates falls between (or on) the date in each of the ranges.
EG in the example data above 5/5/2006 = 7, 6/5/2006 = 7, ..., 12/5/2006 = 8. (I hope! )

Note - I am using dates in the format DD/MM/YYYY

Hope you can help!

Once again I'm reaching out to the TSG forums for help. I have a column (bid request date) and another column (bid approved date). In my pivot table I have a count of these by my team members. # of Bids Submitted and # of Bids Approved and I want to add another column into the pivot table, "Approval rate" which divides the # of Approved by # of submitted. Is there an easy way to do this in a pivot table?

I have no idea if this is even possible, but I would like to create a spreadsheet that auto-populates a series of dates based on one date that the user enters. Let's say I have a goal date to complete a project, and for every project I work on, something needs to happen 6 weeks prior to the goal date, another thing needs to happen 4 weeks prior to the goal date, and something else needs to happen 1 week and 5 days before the goal date. I would like to set up 4 cells in Excel: one for the goal date, and three for the various things that need to happen leading up to that goal date. I would like to be able to enter the goal date into the main cell and have the other three cells auto-populate with the correct date based on what I enter in the goal date. For example, if I enter a goal date of 11/01/2016, I would like the other three cells to automatically populate themselves with: 09/20/2016 (6 weeks prior), 10/04/2016 (4 weeks prior), and 10/20/2016 (1 week and 5 days prior). Is this possible? Can Excel return dates in that way?

Answer:How can I auto-populate dates in Excel based on other dates?

Sure, it's easy. Excel internally stores Dates and Times as numbers. Each day is a whole number and time is the decimal portion of that day. See here for a pretty good explanation of how Excel deals with Dates and Times as well as links to all the various Date and Time functions that Excel offers:http://www.cpearson.com/excel/datet...As for your question, simply subtract the number of Days required from the cell with the Goal Date. With 11/01/2016 in A1, use this to return 9/20/2016:=A1-42(42 is 6*7, or 6 weeks.)I'll leave the other two formulas to you. ;-)Click Here Before Posting Data or VBA Code ---> How To Post Data or Code.

Can someone please look at my HJT log and tell me what's going on.
It all started when I installed a video-codec on my system (big mistake obviously)
Some programs I have never installed pop out of nowhere but I removed them with
XoftSpySE. However, my running processes are using abnormally high amount of
memory and every time i start Ad-Watch SE I get "registry modification detected"
every second!?
Heres one for example:

...I get thousands of those

OK heres my HJT log so please tell me what is wrong
and what to do. Thank you so very much.

Answer:Can someone check this out before I buy it?

first and foremost, that PSU will in now way run that rig. its got a single 12v rail with only 18A on it...factor in a nice PSU into your budget, its the foundation of ur system. check out an OCZ or a Zalman. they are kinda pricey as are most high end PSUs but you need a nice one to power that rig

for heatsinks, it doesnt get much better than this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118223
its only a few $ more but its definitely worth it

im not sure if that card will fit in the case, those things are HUGE! It might be fine though

ive got that keyboard, now i hate to use anything lesser lol. its amazing, i love it

if it were me a may check out some different motherboards but that one doesnt look bad.

ill give it the OK

Answer:Another Log to check!!!!

Hello Fen,

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad since you will not have any of browsers open while you are fixing this.

Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link doesn't work) and install it. Do not run it yet.

---------------------------

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading:
* select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Use the up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode and press Enter.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

Hi,

Very quick yes/no question. I currently have

will this ram be compatible, and is it better than the Kingston Value series?

OCZ 1GB DDR2-533 PC2-4200 Value Series

Thanks for your help.

Answer:Ram Check

They're both technically the same, but due to manufacturer variations some brands are better than others due to reliability issues and such. In short, yes, it is compatible.

Hey, sorry I have done one of these in awhile. Since I learnt to look after my computer. :)

However at the moment I now have a Pinnacle USB capturing device, which captures from my TV. However when it captures it never gives me the full clip. Pinnacle Support forums have no answers for my problem all I've been told is that it requires a lot of computer power. So I'm just wondering if there is anything unwanted happening in my log. Sorry to be a nuisance.

Cheers,
Peter

Answer:Just a check up really

Hi PeteyD -

I don't see anything in that log to suggest a malware issue, which is what this section of the forum focuses on.

You may want to ask for help in the Hardware section of the forum, since your issue seems related to a piece of hardware, and available power.

Answer:Please Help...check Hjt Log...

You have some malware that needs to come out....

This will help to identify malware on your system.
Please download Combofix from any of these locations:

Here
or
Here

Save ComboFix to the desktop and please ensure that you disable realtime security/virus programs that monitors your PC while CF is running.

1. Double click on combo.exe & follow the prompts.
2. When finished, it will produce a logfile located at C:\ComboFix.txt.
3. Copy and Paste the contents of that log in your next reply with a new hijackthis log. Do not use Code or html unless asked for.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause your system to stall/hang.

Caution...Never run and remove files using ComboFix without being supervised by a security analyst.

Answer:HJT check up

Looks pretty good to me...just a few ActiveX controls that look corrupted or partially uninstalled:

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following if they still exist and hit 'Fix Checked' after you check the last one:

O16 - DPF: {0EB0E74A-2A76-4AB3-A7FB-9BD8C29F7F75} (CKAVWebScan Object) -
O16 - DPF: {6414512B-B978-451D-A0D8-FCFDF33E833C} -
O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA} -
O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0002-ABCDEFFEDCBA} -
O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0004-ABCDEFFEDCBA} -

Any issues, or just as you say, a checkup?

Have you run an online scan recently? It's good to get an occasional 'second opinion' for your AV/spyware protection.

If you have, and it was clean, we have no worries here. If you have not run one recently, run a new Panda online scan and post the results, if there are any.

Answer:Could someone check my log?

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)

Extract (unzip) the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop. This is imperative for the tool to function properly. If using a utility such as winzip you will have to direct it there as it will not unzip to the desktop by default. The desination location should look like this (C: being your primary drive): C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\SmitfraudFix

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Question: how to check...

if your pc is running 32bit or 64bit performance?

(i really dont know this thing)

thanks in advance

Answer:how to check...

I personally do not know, I have an EM64 P4, I can run 64-Bit applications/OS in an Emulation type of manner I 'Think', well that's the way I took it when I read up on it somewhere a few weeks back, possibly I could be wrong.

But your Control Panel > System > Window should tell you whether your in 32-Bit or 64-Bit mode?

I am not familiar on the differences, I haven't actually had the opportunity to fiddle with it because I cannot afford to get my hands on XP 64-Bit.

Let me know how you go with it, can I ask your system specifications and your thoughts on the performance differences of the higher version compared to the 32-Bit version.

Answer:Could someone check over my log please

Not seeing much in your log other then Oemji Search which we will deal with on the next pass but lets see what else is lurk'en.

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan
** click on "Free use ActiveScan" located on the top right hand corner Click Check Now & a 'pop up' window shall appear. *ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
Enter your e-mail address, country, and state & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls
Begin the scan by selecting My Computer If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
Please ignore any entry it finds and wants you to buy the program for removal as we will address this later.
Click on see report. Then click Save report
Please post that log in your next reply.

Also...do another Ewido scan and post it's log....

Reboot into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Run Ewido:Click [Scanner]
Click [Complete System Scan] to begin scanning.
Click [OK] when prompted to clean files
With the first file it prompts to clean, select the option - "Perform action on all infections" - & choose clean and click [OK].
Once finished, click the [Save report] button
Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

I've been attacked with a million viruses and trojans, mainly RE Virut.A

After a long battle the system seems clean. I've used mcAfee, both rtesident and the free Internet version; HouseClean; Spybot; Ad.Aware; and Defender. Whenever possible they were run in Safe Mode.

Today all is clear; although yesterday Spybot uncobvered Smitfraud.C Toolbar 888; VirtuMonde; SearchToolbarCorp. Toolbar Vision. Then, McAfee gave me a clean bill of health but Defender afterwards returned Katien N: IExplorer Trojan; IPRS.

Everything seems to be running normally except that I am unable to run McAfee in safe Mode and McAfee are not very much help!

Could you please have a look at the HijackThis log and tell me what to do with the BHOs, Toolbars etc which have appeared unexpectedly.

Thank you

qimi

Answer:Could you please check?

Please ignore previous post. I've now had a further clean up as follows:
McAfee (resident prog on safe Mode)
Clean
Symantec (Safe Mode with networking)
it warned of w32.IRCBot in c:\Windows\System32\gohxi.exe
I followed instructions to delete file and entries in register but found none
there. I deleted the file gohxi.exe
Panda (SM w/net)
See attached report warning of suspicious files
Windows Defender (SM w/net)
Clean
Spybot (SM)
Clean
AdAware (SM)
Clean

Used CCleaner.

Earlier this week I had an attack of RE Virut. A which Symantec cleaned mostly. Other Antivirus and anti-Trojan programs found other problems which were cleaned or deleted

At the beginning of this I had an attack of WinAntiSpyware which left traces everywherein cluding in the registry which it did not allow me to access. I have since deleted all entries in the Registry pertaing to WinAntiSpyware.

I am still worried about some entries in the HijackThis log which I did not expect.

Also, some stange things are still happening like the inability to start McAfee in SM although I have since found out that I can do the scan by using the list in the right-hand mouse button (but not from the Start list).

Please have a look at the log and tell me what I should get rid of.

Thank you and Merry Xmas.

Answer:check this log please

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

Before you do anything else, please create a folder for HijackThis and put it in a permanent folder (like C:\HJT) instead of the Temp folder. This is required because HijackThis will create backups and we don't want them to be deleted.

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run the following tools. Download and update the databases on each program before running. Ad-Aware? SE Personal Edition
*Note* For Ad-AwareSE also install the VX2 Addon Cleaner To run this tool once Adaware is updated click on Add-ons in the lefthand column. Select VX2 Cleaner V2.0 and click Run Tool. Click "OK" , then, if something is found, click "Clean" as in the directions given. Click "Close", and exit Ad-Aware.

Question: Check this out

My theoretical bandwidth is 6400 MB/s. Somehow with a little OCing and some DDR 500 I have managed to beat AMD's theory. I have also smoked any and every Pentium ever built to date.

I do not want to hear about what Intel has down the road because we all know the AM2 is coming fast. Damn this machine is quick for a single core.

Answer:Check this out

Hey, my computer has been running kind of slow lately and sometimes the CPU Usage percentage gets pretty high, even when nothing is open. So, I was wondering if anything could be found in my HJT log that could be a problem. Thanks to whoever can help!!!

I was recently somehow infected with Winfixer. It was annoying. I don't understand how I was infected as I didn't open anything suspicious, download anything new or visit any sketchy websites. I downloaded the Vundo thing to fix it but can you please double check that everything's out of my system?

Thanks so much.

Welcome to TSF

Vundo doesn't seem to be present, but since we don't now which strain of Vundo you had (as you have allready run vundo) we can't be sure it's completly been removed.

If you still have C:\vundofix.txt then please post it's contents.

Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner

Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component. The program will then begin downloading the latest definition files.
Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
Locate the Scan Settings button & configure to: Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:Extended

Scan Options:Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases
Click OK & have it scan My Computer
Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply
* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

Answer:Help Check Log PLz

Hi and Welcome to TSF

Please consider installing SP1 for IE6.

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run ad-aware SE with VX2 add-on cleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy (with updated database) and CWShredder as these programs will clean a lot of the crap out first. All links to programs are in my signature. Ok..on to the log?..

Open My Computer>>View>>FolderOptions>>View Tab>>Advance Advanced settings box, under the "Hidden files" folder, select Show all files>>Apply>>OK

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be but make sure)

C:\TEMP\SALM.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\TCTSTKV.EXE
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\TSA\TS2.EXE
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\TSA\TSL2.EXE

Check and fix the following in HijackThis if they still exist (make sure you do not miss an entry)

Answer:can someone check my log please

Wow!

We'll start with the tools, and move on from there.

You have the Peper infection. Download PeperUninstall. Make sure you are connected online to run this program. Run it once and reboot. Then run it again for the second time. Download PeperFix and save it to your Desktop. Run it and click Find and Fix (reboot if prompted).

Download CWShredder and click on Fix (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you). If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Then post a new HJT log, and we'll see where we're at.
