Problems with Microsoft office document imaging in Office 2003

Question: Problems with Microsoft office document imaging in Office 2003

Hi all

I am using Windows XP and office 2003. I am using Microsoft Office Picture Manager to view tif files.

PROBLEM:

1. I open a tif file.
2. I make an annotation change eg: Use the hightlighting tool to hightlight some text. Fine, no problem!
3. I save the document.
4. I close the document and try reopening it:

I get this error:

"The file selected is not a valid Microsoft Document Imaging file"

I recreated my Windows XP profile and this resolved the problem

That was two weeks ago........now the problem is back!

Any ideas?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Office 2010 Standard Open License Version installed on 7 XP Pro machines. We discovered, when trying to open a .tif file, that Document Imaging has been removed from Office 2010. I found and followed instructions in KB982760 from the MS web site. I got lots of parts of Office 2007, including Word, but still no Document Imaging. I tried going through Add/Remove Programs to add the feature; still no luck. Has anyone been successful getting Document Imaging from a previous version of Office to run under 2010?

Thanks,
adaniel

Does anyone know where I can download Microsoft Office Document Imaging? I have the printer, but lost the scanner and viewer. Thank you.

Answer:Microsoft Office Document Imaging

Microsoft Office Document Imaging is part of MS Office Tools included in all versions of MS Office since XP.
If you have the original install disc of MS Office you should be able to reinstall it from there (Put the disc in your drive and when the openning screen comes up it should have a "repair" option.
I know of nowhere that you can "download" it.

Hello all,

I'm trying to view a document that has a *.tif extention. Upon investigation, it was said that this can be opened by Microsoft Office Document Imaging. Is there a stand alone program out there that I can use to view such a file? Thanks

Answer:Microsoft Office Document Imaging

A .tif is a picture or graphic. You can open it using Windows Paint or any other painting app. If you want to use Office, you could open Word and Insert, Picture, From File, and browse to the graphic and insert it into a word doc.

Answer:Microsoft Office Document Scanning - Imaging

Hi milkybarkid, When I re-installed office 2000 I clicked on 'Insert', 'Picture' and was told that the feature was not installed. I was prompted to put the office 2000 disc in and click OK. This re-installed the feature. Cheers, Bill

In Windows XP and Windows Vista 32 bit I when I installed MSO 2003 a Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer was installed as a virtual printer and was visible in my Contral Panel Printers folder. This was handy as a printer for files for later printing as described at the link below. In Windows 7 64 bit I cannot get Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer to install as a printer although Microsoft Office Document Imaging does install and work as a program available to open view and scan files.
A solution is suggested in the article at the link below but it does not seem to work. does anyone here have a workaround for this issue?
Thanks

After reading your post I check to see if the same problem exist on my system; it doesn't. Looked up your problem on MS Office forums and couldn't find anything there either. Wish I could help. Have you attempted to repair the installation, or check to see if you can reinstall office; if you attempt a reinstall check the office tools to see if this has been checked off. Good luck.

How do I associate opening a TIF file within Internet Explorer v6.0 with "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" on Windows XP?

Here's the scenario.

Within Windows Explorer on Windows XP, I can double click on a *.tif file and Microsoft Office Document Imaging will open and display the *.tif file. This works fine and as expected. The file association is correct.

But, I'm viewing a database application (Onyx Employee Portal v5.0) that uses Internet Explorer as an interface. Within this Internet Explorer interface, there is a link to a *.tif file. When I click on the link, another Internet Explorer window appears, I see the QuickTime logo appear for a second, then the TIF file appears within the Internet Explorer window. But, I don't want to view the TIF file with Internet Explorer. I want to view the TIF file with Microsoft Office Document Imaging. How do I make my computer understand this?

Thanks,
Dave

Answer:TIF file association with Microsoft Office Document Imaging

Its because its not really tif you are opening. If you are clicking a link to the tif then you are really opening a hyperlink more so than a tif file. So what you could so is right click on the link and do a "Save target as" then save the tif to your desktop which would then open it properly.

Hey everybody

Here at the office, we scan in leads that are mailed out to various employees. The scanner makes the file a .tiff, which has all the document images in that one file. We have to view the tiff with Microsoft Office Document Image in order to view all of the different files.

For example, if there were 40 documents scanned, and they all are put into one single .tiff. Now, if I use Microsoft Office Document Image to view it, then all 40 of them come up on the left side, and I can view them seperately.

However, if I use a picture viewer, it only shows the first document of the .tiff. I can't scroll through or anything.

Now, it's not a problem for us in the office, since we all have Microsoft Office. However, it is a problem when we e-mail them out to users that do not have this program. Is there a free alternative to this, that I can tell the employees to download, and use as the viewer for these documents?

Thanks.

I was scanning one chapter of a book in Microsoft Office Document Imaging (program installed with Microsoft Office 2003) using my HP Deskjet F2180 (TWAIN). After I scanned all the pages of the book's chapter, I went to menu File>Save to save the document as a TIFF file. However, at that occasion, I inadvertently moved the slider to increase quality/compression under the save options for .MDI file format just before I hit the Save button. As I intended, the file was saved as a .tif file, which is the default file format option in the save window. But perhaps I should not have changed the settings for quality/compression of MDI format, because since then, every time that I click the menu File button, the program crashes and the the same Windows error appears, saying something like: ?Microsoft Document Imaging found a problem and has to be shut down. We regret any inconvenience this might cause you. [...]?I love this program, and I'd like to keep using it. What should I do to get rid of these crashes? Do I have to restore the System to a previous restore point?

Answer:Windows Error when accessing the File menu in Microsoft Office Document Imaging

No need to restore the system! I tried the solution provided here and it worked!  I see now what probably have caused the crashes: I had saved 2 versions of the same file, (one with all the save options at their defaults and another one when I changed the settings for quality/compression of MDI format). But then, I think that while the program was still running, I manually deleted one of those files in Windows explorer, thus impairing it from being further accessed/listed among the 4 most recently opened files when I clicked on File in the top menu. Perhaps I should join TechArena Community too! It seems to be another great technical support community (like this one). You can't never get too much computer help.

I am operating on Windows Vista Home Edition. I received an email with an application form for a job as an attachement. I completed the form off of the attachement and pressed the floppy disc icon to save it. I then made an alteration and when I went to close it I was prompted whether or not to save the changes. I pressed save. When I went to open the document as an attachement my additions were not there. I have done the following to try and find it on my laptop. Whilst on the document pressed save as instead to see where it would save it to. I have then tracked that up to local/microsoft/windows but then I am requested to go into Temporary Internet then Content IE5. These last 2 folders do not show up on my hard drive. I have show hidden files open. Can you please help. Spent hours completing this form. Ta Johanne

I am in homeschooling and I rely completely on my computer for my education.
I just recently found and joined a program called Microsoft Office Live. It is basically like having an online flash drive, so you can access your files from any computer. (if you have internet)
A couple of days after I uploaded a Microsoft Word document and saved it on the program, I came back and now it won't let me edit it!
What happens is I click on the "Edit" button when I have my document selected then a message box pops up and says "Some files can harm your computer. If the file information looks suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open the file."

Then it either lets me click "OK" or "Cancel".
When I click "OK" the box goes away, but it doesn't take me to the editing screen so I am not able to edit my document.

I have tried over, and over again. Nothing happens! I think there might be something wrong with my Microsoft Word because it worked on a computer that I used before. But what I need to do is get it to work on my current computer.

I am using Windows Vista.

Also, I am using a free trial for Microsoft Word...may that be the problem?

Well, let me know what you think. I am sort of a beginner/intermediate with computers.

Please Help me on this! It is mandatory for my grades in my Sophomore year of high school!

Hi....I had a bad trojan infection which Chaslang thankfully helped me sort out. When I got the trojan it stuffed up something in my microsoft office pro 2003 and Internet Explorer 6. Everytime I try to open an office document, be it a word file, excel, pps etc the file starts to open then windows installer starts because it says it needs to install a missing file..so I go through all that until it asks for the CD. I put the CD in then get an error message saying it cant find a certain .CAB file (the name of the file varies every time I have tried but it is always a .CAB). I can browse the cd and see the files ok....but windows installer cant seem to. So I thought ID just uninstall and reinstall...but the same thing happens and it wont let me.!!
As for IE6 if I try to open a web page I just get a white screen that says its loading but never finishes. Had to install Firefox just to get here.
I am running XP/SP2 with all updates. All current scans are done. I have a P4 with 512 mb ram , 2.8g processor, 120Gb hdd and a heap of useless programs made by microsoft!! Everyone is sending me files that I cant open!!! HELP!!!

Hi all, my husband brought home a disk with a few programs on it for my daughter who is starting college and needs a word processing program. I believe it has OpenOffice and Office 2007 Enterprise, not familiar with either one. I have MSOffice 2003 installed on my desktop and am happy with it. So I thought I would download this new program on my computer to see what changes have been made etc. but what I didn't realize is that it over-wrote my 2003. I tried opening some photos with MS Pictures and its not there anymore. I also tried opening an excel file and got a message "MSOINTL.DLL is missing... " or something like that and the file wouldn't open. So in frustration I uninstalled MSOffice 2007 and now I see that all of my excel files and word files won't open since now my 2003 Office is gone.
Sorry for rambling here, I tried to do a system restore and picked a date in bold as instructed (just a day ago) and after it appeared to go thru the motions and reboot, I got a message that "unable to restore ..." (don't remember what else). My system restore was NOT turned off so I have no idea why it didn't work.
So I'm pleading now to find out first how to get my Office 2003, is there a place where I can download it? I don't want Office 2007, I want my old one back. My husband has a call in to the IT guy at work who he got the disk from, but as I said, I should have just kept my status quo...you know the old sayi... Read more

I did an upgrade installation from Office 2003 PRO to Office 2010 PRO. I had several issues with Access denied on C:\Config.msi. I usually select retry and all is well. I think I may have missed one of the retries before I did the system restart.
Now I get an error 2203 whenever I reboot, and the Office 2003 installer keeps popping up anytime I try to do anything.
I tried uninstalling Office 2003 and was told that I had a corrupted install. I tried re-installing it and it seems to just hang.
I also tried to uninstall and repair Office 2010.

I'm at a loss at this point.

I recently installed the Microsoft Office 2010 Beta, but this morning its intro screen stays stuck at "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run." Googling it resulted in only two threads, neither of them having the answer.

I'm back to using Office 2007, by simply setting my Word and Excel documents to open by Office 2007 by default, but now my Word and Excel icons have become much less pretty, such as my Word icons becoming a very plain "DOCX" icon instead of the normal "blue W" icon. I checked, and the file types are still regular Word documents. Is there a way to get the pretty icons back?

Answer:Office 2010 Problems: "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run" & Unattractive DOCX icons for Word documents.

Regarding changing the icon:
Go to either My Computer or Windows Explorer.
Click Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab.
Scroll down to the DOCX file type (file types are in alphabetical order), click on it one time to highlight it.
Click the Advanced button.
The "Edit File Type" screen appears.
There is a Change Icon button in the top right area.
Click the Change Icon button.
You should have other icon choices to pick from.
Side note: If you don't like any of those icons, you can always hit the Browse button,
and browse to where other icons are, (you can assign any icon to any file type that you want, it is a matter of personal preference).
Icons are found in .exe files (executables), some (not all) .dll (dynamic link library) files, and .ico files.

We are wanting to up-grade our current Office suite Office 2003 to either Office 2010 or Office 2013.  Our PC's are running Windows 7

I would just like to know what peoples opinions and advice is on this?

Answer:Up-grade from Office 2003 to Office 2010 or Office 2013

I can't speak to Office 2013, but I've done numerous upgrades to Office through 2010.  When you install the new version, you have the option to keep the old version or just replace it.  Starting with Office 2007 the familiar menu bar has been replaced with the ribbons which take a lot of getting used to for folks used to older versions.  There's a little program called UbitMenu that will add most of the menu bar functions back in the 2007 and 2010 versions that a lot of folks find helpful.  If you do opt to have two different versions installed at the same time, what happens is that when you switch from one to the other, it goes through a juggling act that takes a minute or so.  It's a bit of a pain, but if you need it, it could be a convenience.

Good luck.

Hello. I work online at a university and students are upgrading gradually to Vista. I get .docx documents that I have to grade but my MS Office Word 2003 just turns it into jibberish when it tries to convert it. Can I do anything on my end to make these files readable, or do the students need to do something on their end before sending? I think I recall that the student can choose to "save as" and then choose the .doc ending, but I'd rather not ask them to do this. Many are even more technologically challenged than I am! I have been using Word and “Microsoft office 2007 - Document Imaging” for doing OCR and passing text to WORD. Recently it has been doing something very strange. When I try to send the OCR’d text to WORD (“Send text to Word”), WORD gives an error message:
“Server Busy. This action cannot be completed because the ‘document 1 - Microsoft Word’ program is not responding. …”
If I can minimize the empty Word document window, a small dialog box appears asking me “Do you want to convert from
[list of file formats] to WORD?” If I select HTML, The text finally appears in Word. Sometimes the Word/Document Imaging programs hang up completely and I have to go to “Task Manager” to get out of the predicament.
I have un-installed and re-installed “Microsoft Office 2007” with no success in solving the problem.
Can anyone tell me what is going on? How can I go directly to Word instead of having to convert from HTML? How did it get to HTML in the first place?

Answer:microsoft office document program

If you have Microsoft Word, search for a file named winword.exe. That's the file you need to start Word. If it's found, double click on it to run it. If Word opens, just make a new shortcut to the winword.exe file since your old shortcut apparently got corrupted somehow.

If you have a disc with either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works on the label; yes, you can reinstall Word from whichever one of those you have.

Please post back with the results.

When I start Word or Excel, it opens a blank document or spreadsheet. When I then open an existing document/spreadsheet, or start a new one from a template, you'd expect the empty startup document to be closed automatically. The opened document should replace the unedited start document.

On one of my Office installations, this works as it should. But on another one it doesn't. This is inconvenient - I have to close these empty documents manually every time.

I posted this question on a Microsoft MVP forum, and someone suggested I should start Word in safe mode, to get an even 'more empty' start document. That didn't help, and I was not given further suggestions for a solution. What could be the cause? What can I do?

Over this past one year I have noticed more and more frequent BSOD crashes so I started paying close attention to what I was doing. Since then 100 percent of the BSOD occurred almost immediately after trying to save (via clicking the save icon, ^s (shortcut), or even save as). I found the probability of BSOD decreases a lot when you are doing a save a new filename. In fact I can't recall a single time where saving to a new file caused a problem. Overwriting an existing file seems to trigger it. The driver causing the BSOD is NTFS.sys. Note, it doesn't happen on each and every save, the average is like 1 of 7. My work-around has been to avoid saving early and often (which is a serious problem with Microsoft Office which isn't the most stable application around) and when I do save make sure it is via save-as and to a new filename. Just tack on a number or letter prefix. I mostly use Word ands Excel and have noted they both have this problem. Other applications may not have this issue, but then I don't overwrite too many files so that may be the reason for the lack of BSOD.

It's hard to say when it started. I allow Microsoft to update my PC as updates become available. I was never a fan of Microsoft roulette having been burned, but a couple friends insisted Microsoft cleaned up their act so I gave it another try. On the up side some of their updates did correct a couple minor issues. I believe one (or more) of their updates is responsible for this issue. Likewise I was hoping ... Read more

What started all my problems is my Microsoft Office tools scanner kept coming up with the error message "An internal error has occurred. I this error persists reinstall this application.

I reinstalled/uninstalled my Microsoft Office XP 2002 twice and still get this message. I got the scanner working with the software that it came with but the Office Tools scanner program is much easier to work with. It should be part of the Microsoft Office program that I tried installing. I have the original discs for Office so it's confusing why the office tools scanner part will not work. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thank you dlb for your help getting my installer to work. I end up having to open the services.msc to start the installer sometimes. Does your start parameters have anything in it. Mine is blank. I was thinking that maybe something should be in the parameters box to have windows installer start all the time. At least I can run it in some form. I could use advice from someone with the following problem.

Word now splits the page with a side paine on the Left with all the pages in a file. I can only get rid of this by clicking Remove Split. How can I stop Word from doing this and go back to just having the file on the full page. This is in Office 2003. Thanks

Answer:Word document split - pages in side screen - Office 2003

you could be looking at a "Thumbnail" view of the pages in the document, in which case do this:Open Word.Open a document.Click on View tab.UNTICK "Thumbnails" box in the Toolbar.Re-save document.

I can open the files if I navigate to them first without opening the app but if I open up word for example, then navigate to the file it just hangs. It's as soon as you click on the drop down menu to select a network drive.

The PC is new with XP SP2 and its office 2003.

It is not missing. It is just that there is nothing out there that uses the newest version. Go under Control Panel>Devices and Printers. You will see the Microsoft XPS Document Writer. That is the same thing.

But there's no update from XP to Win 7. Do you mean that the new PC's have Win 7 pre installed? What version of MS Office do you have on the new PC's? Where is this document stored as if it has been transferred from one PC to another it may have got corrupted on the transfer?

The issue is specific to Office 2016 on Win 10 (Office 2016 on Win 7, no problem, Office 2010 on Win 10, no problem). Certain documents (reported by a user who receives documents with Japanese text, haven't seen it happen with others) have the layout messed up, a 2 page Word doc gets spread over 4 pages, and I've been given some sample powerpoint slides which have text overflowing the end of the slide.

Word doc was originally in Legacy 2003 format, I did manage to make this particular document display correctly by saving it in .docx format, then enabling compatibility changes via vba, setting to 2010 compatibility and enabling "Use printer metrics to lay out document" based on what I read here: BUG!! Word 2016 fails to print margins correctly / messes - Microsoft Community

The other sample file I received was a .pptx - haven't been able to find corresponding compatibility options in Powerpoint.

Wouldn't be quite so annoying if they didn't both display perfectly in Windows 7.

Answer:Office Document layout/margins overflow on Office 2016 + Win 10

Turns out it was some sort of font substitution issue. I noticed the fonts in Word/Powerpoint weren't present in the Windows font dir. Copied them over from another Win 7 machine, suddenly everything looks fine.

Not sure why Office 2010 did a better job of it than 2016, I couldn't really pick if there was a difference in the Japanese characters before and after the font, only that the page layout was stuffed...

I am wondering if anyone knows how to customize the "Open Office Document" program in Office 2000... this is the small program that archives shortcuts and has a tool bar on the left hand side with options that include : Web folders, Favorites, Desktop, Personal and History. I want to customize the "Look In:" tool bar...

Answer:Office 2000: Open Office Document Shortcut

I can't find a single way to change that setting. So, here's what I'd do.

Go to your (default) folder in Windows Explorer. Right-click it and hit Create Shortcut. Then, right-click the shortcut and hit Properties. Hit Change Icon. Give it the Open Office Document icon and also rename it to Open Office Document.

Copy or cut the shortcut.

Go to C:\windows\start menu and delete the old Open Office Document Shortcut and paste the new one in there.

We currently use Office 2007 and Office 2010 on our about 20 workstations. I'm looking to move to MS office 365 for hosted exchange. I found out that as of the first of this year, Microsoft no longer support Outlook 2007 or 2010 for hosted exchange. It seems to be working just fine so far at another site I'm involved with. The issue is that if you ever contact support, they will blame the version of Outlook you're on. So, I'm looking at options for upgrading.

Do you guys that are on office 365 for email using the premium version that includes the office subscription or buy Office 2016?

For the most part, we just need outlook, word and excel. We do have 6 people that will need powerpoint also.

Just looking for a recommendation from you guys on what makes the most sense.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what the last version of Word that used the .doc format?

As always , Thanks,
Cob

Answer:microsoft office 2003

Well good question Cob, I just read the EULA and no mention of needing to be the same IP ( as some users may have 2 separate internet connections hence 2 IPs ) for activation purposes, but they do say that usage is limited to the same household and for non-profit purposes so if you were using on install for a business then you would be breaking the EULA terms.

Hello everyone, just wondering if someone here could help me with what is a very annoying but silly problem. It is quite hindering however as it is making my work very difficult as i am working to a deadline (monday 22nd December)

Whenever i take the cursor to the middle of an already written paragraph to add something to the sentence, as i write, all the words after what i am writing disappear/ are simultaneously being deleted.

It wasnt happening the last time i was working on this, but it has happened before, and i know that it is just a simple problem. Just wondering if anyone knew how i can fix this.

Many Thanks
Mrs Erceg.

I am running windows Xp and I have office 2003 installed. I like to make cards and invitations and prepare my photos for printing in office. Because I text wrap them to move them or size them I cannot copy and paste.
What I do not like is that when I save them or e-mail them they stay in the office page with all the tool bars and such. When I go to where they are saved they are in a doc box that has to be opened. It takes away from my creations to have them surrounded by all the toolbars and things.
Lately I have been printing and then scanning and saving, but this seems a round about way of doing things, not to mention the waste of ink. Is there a better way? Does anyone know how I can remove just my creations for E-mailing or to save?

My trial version of office expires march 31st and I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a product key (big ripoff ). Is there any way to get another key??

Answer:Microsoft Office 2003

Steve,

I am pretty sure, if there is a way, that you wont find it here as this is not a site that encourages piracy or software activation hacks. Neither will you find password hack advice regardless of genuity of your inquiry.

I think that the only way to get Office on your computer legally is to purchase the key for it. If you know of any friends who have kids in college or school, or indeed if you or anyone in your family is completing education full time, you can get Office at discount for students and teachers which consists of sending to Microsoft an officially stamped and signed verification form (which is in the box you buy). Once MS have verified that the information is genuine, they will send you the prod key/install cd's.

I'm sure this hasn't been much help but its the only way round your budgetary problem and will keep your copy of Office legal.

If you install a pirate version or one without credentials, you may not be able to get any support or download updates or patches if you have problems and such installations could cause problems with other elements of Windows. Its alot of money for the real McCoy but the peace of mind for having genuine software in my opinion is priceless.

If you have an older version of Office try to stick with it for a while if 2003 is too expensive but whatever you do don't cut corners else you'll find yourself posting more advice requests in more technical areas of this forum at a later date and your Offi... Read more

I am have a TON of problems with Microsoft Office 2003 (Mainly Word and Excel). This is a work computer I am on, and I do most of my work in both of those applications (naturally, they are the ones with the problem). It also becomes a problem when I need to print a document because it will freeze up in the middle of trying to print.

Does anyone have any idea of what is going on with my computer?? Is there any way to fix this mess?!?! I am VERY much in need of these applications right now!

i have microsoft office 2003 and downloaded a pluggin to view docx file and now i can't view pdf files, how do i delete this pluggin, i also forgot what pluggin it was.

Answer:microsoft office 2003

Rather than do this, I suggest you reset your .pdf option. In Windows Explorer, select any .pdf, right click, and chose the <open with> option, then <chose program>. Find Acrobat and make sure <Always use the selected program to open this kind of file> is checked.

Hi Guys I would like some ideas on this as its one of those faults I cant put my finger on but I suspect is something simple. For some reason all of a sudden when I open outlook I can no longer create a new mail, reply, access options or import or export. This is also the same with word, the buttons are greyed out. If I open word it brings up a new document but I cant type on it. I have reinstalled Office but that makes no difference. I have turned off AV still no difference. In the back of my mind I know what the problem is just cant get it to the front so any help appreciated please.

can I install this over Outlook 2002 on a Windows ME system and not lose anything (contact, calendar, etc) from Otlook?

Answer:Microsoft Office Pro 2003

I am not 100% sure, but you can just make a copy of your PST file, and to be doubly safe export your contacts and archive your messages. Then run the install, in theory it will preserve your settings but upgrade installation are less stable then clean installs

I can not seem to get Excel to work in my Office 2003 version. I have no problems using Power Point or Word., however, when I tried to use Excel tonight it is asking me for the proiduct code. I have been using it daily for two plus years...now....no luck. I can not locate where I have stored the code. Is there a way to retrieve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

morning
we are a small pre-school, and between us all we have three laptops, and the main computer, I had heard there is a version of Microsoft office that we could buy and be able to load onto our computers and us all be able to acitivate legallally, instead of having to buy four versions of office.
does anyone know if it is "office academic edition" or the "office teachers and students" version?

thanks in advance
turipa
(please ignore the terrible spelling)
