Recover deleted email

Question: Recover deleted email

Help! I accidentally deleted some email files from my inbox and deleted file folders in Outlook 2000. How do I recover these files? I already did an import of the .pst file into outlook but the files did not appear.

Preferred Solution: Recover deleted email

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello

Are you working in a Microsoft exchange environment? ie at work!
If not I do not think you can get it back.

If you are then do the following:

Highlight the deleted items folder. Click Tools>recover deleted items. Alist of emails should appear. Find your email and highlight it. Right click and choose restore or click the restore button. It should return to your deleted items folder.

Good luck.

Let me know your outcome please.

Pileyrei

EDIT: No sure what other folders you are reffering to.

You can recover any email deleted/ Archived from the Mailbox if it has not passed the deleted item retention period ( default 1 week)

A few tips that I follow

1. Any Item deleted from the Mailbox either a soft delete or hard delete goes in the dumpster
2. Emails which are soft deleted goes to the deleted items folder
3. If we have hard deleted any items from Inbox
4. If you move an item to PST after it has shown up in your Mailbox, they also can be recovered if the PST is lost /corrupted,
5. If Mailbox Manager policy deletes any email from your Mailbox by error, this also can be recovered
If not recover you just read Resolve Error-

Today I somehow managed to delete one of my email folders in Windows Live Mail (from my desktop email program) and since it is the folder I store all of my work emails in, no need to say, I'm a bit frantic. My email is set to empty my deleted folder on exit so however I managed to delete the whole folder it's not in my deleted folder.

I've seen Recuva's free program recommended and I've seen a suggestion to restore my computer from the last restore point. Are either of these a possible solutions?

And, yes I know I'm a complete idiot for not having an anywhere close to current backup (especially since I have a brand new external drive setting in front of me, still in the box)

Any help, suggestion or comments will be appreciated.

Thanks
Linda

Answer:How To Recover A Deleted Email Folder In Live Mail

System Restore certainly won't help - it doesn't touch your personal stuff at all. Among your remaining WLM folders is there a Recovery folder or anything similar? If not I fear your folder may be permanently gone. Run Recuva by all means - nothing to lose - and make sure you recover anything you find to a different drive.

Someone probably asked about this so if u can kindly direct me to a previous post, I thank you in advance...
But is there any way to disable Outlook's Office "Recover deleted email" or "Recover email from Microsoft Exchange" - whatever the heck that is.
I am getting pretty darn tired of 'purging' deleted emails.
This only happens with my live.com account and quite frankly, I hesitate to keep using it.
I mean seriously, emptying trash means just that. In the real world I don't visit the dump and say, "I'd like to recover my trash that was picked up last Thursday. Gee. Thanks."
Know what I mean?

Hi,

I've done a stupid stupid stupid thing and lost an important excel spreadsheet that I last used about two weeks ago. I've been having various performance problems (freezes/crashes) and was advised to run "Malwarebytes' anti-malware".

Before I did this, I backed up all my data to a CD-ROM and then deleted the files from my laptop. Then I went ahead and ran the software. The good news: my laptop seems to be behaving itself far better now. The bad news: somehow I seem to have missed this one file when backing up. I've got all my family photos, lots of stuff from work, even old stuff that I'll probably never need again but I thought "What the heck". Yet somehow, I've missed this one spreadsheet. I could kick myself!!

To make matters (probably) worse, I've run CCleaner a couple of times since then, as I was advised that it keeps the laptop clean. I've just looked at some settings there now and it's using "Normal" file deletion as opposed to "Secure", but "Wipe Free Space" is selected. Damn!

I only realised I'd lost the file last night and I have already downloaded some freeware utilities such as "Restoration" and "Undelete Plus", but none of these found the file.

Should I just give up now? Or is there some software that may find a file even after CCleaner has been run.

Grateful for any help.

Pat

I am running Outlook 2007 on Vista. Something happened (don't know what) with my Outlook. I have two profiles set up and all the e-mails for one are gone. I set up a new profile, but when I am getting these send/receive errors:

Today I deleted sixteen files that I needed - they weren't sent to the recycle bin as I usually hold down shift and delete together so I don't have to empty the recycle bin often. I know there are many file recovery programs available that you have to pay for, but as I only need to recover around 16 files I was wondering if any of you knew about a deleted file recovery program which was free, even if it was for a limited time. I tried downloading some demos but they either only allowed small files to be recovered or didn't let you recover any files without paying.

The files I deleted were no more than 100k/b, and I use Windows 98 SE. Anybody know of any recover deleted file programs that would help me?

Hello,My other computer was infected with the Fake System Restore malware. I believe I managed to remove it, but I also accidentally removed the Taskbar. Also, all desktop icons are missing. I scanned my PC with "SuperAntiSpyware" removal tool Free version. I selected "remove" instead of "quarantine" when the results detected the trojan. I think this deleted the taskbar in the process. Can I copy a file from this computer to reinstall the missing taskbar on the other computer?

Answer:recover deleted taskbar

almostthere,Let's try the following:Press CTRL ALT DEL to run Task Manager. Now, on the File menu, select New Task (Run...). Type in: explorer.exe and press OK. That will restart explorer and may display your Taskbar.Any luck? The infection mentioned will hide all the files on your computer from being seen. To make your files visible again, please download the following program to your Desktop:Unhide.exe: http://download.bleepingcomputer.co...Double-click on the Unhide.exe icon. This program will remove the +H, or hidden, attribute from all the files on your hard drives. If there are any files that were purposely hidden by you, you will need to hide them again after this tool is run.~~~~Retired - Doin' Dis, Dat, and slapping malware.Malware Eliminator/Member of UNITE and the Alliance of Security Analysis Professionals

Hi-

I accidentally started to install a new version of XP Home on an existing partition that had a good working XP home on it. I got to the point on the install where it highlighted the good partition and I hit "L" to erase it. At that point I stopped and tried a repair from the XP Home disk but no luck. Since it didn't overwrite it (probably just erased some pointers) is there any way to get back the good partition/OS that was on this disk?

Thanks

Hi all,

I wanted to check the history of a folder in windows explorer (not IE), I downloaded a index.dat viewer but it only shows a few days history I need it from last week. I only found out about index.dat from a google search I am no expert, it does show the history of the folder I am looking for but not far back enough, I do use Ccleaner to delete files, but how can I recover the old history wirh free software please!

Thanks

Answer:Recover deleted history

Chances are that you can't. But what exactly do you want to recover? Files, a list of files, or what?

Ccleaner removes many things that can be useful for recoveries. Backup files, though useless if unused, of course, are created for a reason. Ccleaner should be used sparingly, if at all, and never use the registry part.

I had a flash drive with .pdf files among others on it. Once I inserted the drive, the compuer would ask me whether or not I wanted to scan the drive because some errors were found. I chose not to scan it. The drive opened fine. But the next time I inserted the drive and chose not to scan it, the drive opened but half the files were gone. To recover the files, I was recommended to use "virtual Lab" recovery software. This program scanned the drive and found some files and saved them into a folder called "Raw Files". Inside of it there are several folders. One of them is of interest to me as it is called Adobe Acrobat Documents There are .pdf files and they probably are the ones I am looking for but when try to open them with the Adobe Acrobat reader, the message says that they cannot be opened because "they were either not supported or, damaged, for example, sent in e-mail and incorrectly decoded"My question: is there anything that could be done to bring these files back to life at this point? E.g. re-docode them, so they are decoded correctly? Thanks!

Answer:Would Appreciate Help to Recover Deleted Files

Simple answer is" No" You have already used a software program to recover some files. That may be as much as you can do. In theory, flash drives are supposed to be very reliable. But many users report they fail more often than they shooed.IMHO the best way to store files is on a good quality eternal drive. Prices vary.

I'm looking for a way to recover deleted e-mails from multiple brands of e-mail programs, Outlook Express, Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc., etc. To be clear, I do not need to recover deleted files; I want to recover deleted mails, deleted by accident or on purpose.

Also, if there is a web site that deals with this subject, I would appreciate a link.

A free program that would do this would be always nice; but, if there isn't a really good free one, I would appreciate some information/evaluations from people who have actually used the software or some links to evaluations done by professional users or reviewers.

You could try recovery software but it's success depends on how much data has been written to the drive (either by you or by Windows & applications) since the deletion.

My non-technical brother bought an external hard drive then "synched" that drive to a folder on his internal hard drive that held (of course) all of the pictures of the kids. He claims he then deleted the folder from his internal hard drive and everything was gone from his external hard drive. Nothing in the recycle bin either.

I've never used an external hard drive, so I don't know if any of what he's saying even makes sense, but the bottom line is that he would like to get out of the doghouse and get the pictures back. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I've heard that no file is ever really erased from your hard drive its really just a matter of how much you want to pay to get it back.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

There are programs that will recover deleted files, however, there are no guarantees they will recover all of them if any. Try not to use that machine until you find some software you want to try, as the data may be overwritten. Running Win XP.How can this be possible? Is there any way I can recover the deleted file?

Answer:Cannot recover deleted pst file

Johnw its a local copy of .pst or there would be no need for recovery software.Flox15 you should never install software when trying to recover a file. You run the recovery software from a usb or cd boot disk. This prevents the file from being partially or fully overwritten.Another aspect is how much free space do you have? If not much then a deleted file can be overwritten immediately. There is also the issue of a corrupt file table. You run chkdsk /f to correct this. But all of this sounds too late in your situation.Answers are only as good as the information you provide. How to properly post a question: Sorry no tech support via PM's

I have inadvertantly deleted a personal file (containing data and pictures files) from my laptop.I tried to use recovery programs to recover at least the pictures. I have recovered some of the files containing the pictures, but cannot open these pictures . When trying to open each picture (of the recovered ones) I've got the following note:"Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, ot its format is not currently supported"I checked the System Restore and found that a restore point is available to the date prior the delete. Can System Restore recover the deleted file?Note: The file was installed on the Desktop (before being deleted).I am using Windows XP ProThanks for your assitance.

Answer:Recover A Deleted File

The restore point may work for you, or it may not. Persoanlly, that's a tough call, because you risk erasing the deleted version where you can't retrieve it, and you risk the possibility that the restore point won't work, and at the same time, erased any possible chance of you recovering what was accidentally deleted. If possible, the best way you is to hook the hard drive in question to another computer as the slave. And then use the other computer to get the data off, because you stand the risk of that sector of the hard drive to be over-written with data if you add/install a program to the computer. It's not always true.. but that risk still exists. If you don't have access to another computer then you'll want to use a few FREE ones that are out there. Look in the Commercial FREEWare forum here on this site. Sorry, I forget the link right off hand. But whatever you do, don't keep deleting and (or) modifying the hard drive if you want your data back. By all means, just download what you need, and do as less installing/deleting on that computer as possible. And then again, if you feel that the Restore Point will bring back the data, then all I can say is go for it. But remember to weigh out your odds, no matter which route you take.a. connect the hard drive to another computer, and do it that way (safest known method)b. install a program(s) on the computer in question, and run it from there (risk/a workable method)c. Use the Windows Restore Point (ris... Read more

Hi,

Answer:recover my deleted photos, help

If the photos were never transferred to the computer and were deleted directly from the memory card, there's absolutely no way you can recover it, not that you've lost it. Sorry. If they were deleted from the hard drive, you could try using a program like Recuva or Restoration (both free) to recover them. But you cannot afford to waste time before you do that. There are a lot of free programs that recover it from the memory card too (maybe Restoration and Recuva do that too), but you need to have the card to do that.

My computer became infected with a virus, infostealer.banpaes that norton 2006 seemed unable to get rid of.

I decided to simply reinstall XP pro, onto my 10gb C partition, while maintaining my files on the other two 50gb partitions (drive is 120gb sata). I'd done this countless times before just to clean out the system from time to time and didn't think too much of it.

When I booted up into XP installer and got to the point where i would need to delete the C partition and reformat it, I didn't notice until too late that somehow my 3 separate partitions now looked like one 120gb partition to the windows installer (something that had never happend before).

Before it fully dawned on me, I deleted my C partition, effectively deleting the entire drive.

Not sure what to do, I made another 10gb partition, installed XP pro, and now am wondering how I can recover the files from my lost 50gb partitions.

Is this possible without having to employ some expensive recovery software or recovery service?

The files lost are not earth shatteringly essential, but quite a few of them are ones I will truly miss.

Any ideas on anything I can do? Or should I just let go and move on?

Thanks

Have a customer whose husband inadvertently deleted an important folder in outlook express and the program was set to empty deleted on exit xp.Have all the dbx files on cd at my place need to get him out of the dog house. Thanks!

Answer:Recover deleted OE folder?

Just for your info, the file "folders.dbx" in the user's "Store Folder" maps the actual folders visible in Outlook Express to the DBX files that hold the messages for each of those folders. Folders.dbx is automatically regenerated by OE if it is deleted, which is sometimes used as a fix for a corrupt folders.dbx file. Each of the DBX database files represents a separate folder or sub-folder and contains all the messages in that folder.DBX Files can be opened using OE-Mail Recovery utility http://www.oemailrecovery.com/outlook-express-recovery.htmlIt is a standalone program that opens the DBX file in a rough approximation of the OE message view and allows you to open emails, save attachments, and save out as many messages as you want to the *.eml format used by OE. You can drag and drop *.eml files from a folder into a newly created folder in OE again and they are then embedded into the DBX file created for your new folder. You should be aware that the "Deleted Items.dbx" file normally still retains all deleted messages UNTIL it is "compacted". OE is set to prompt the user to compact database folders on the 100th time it is closed. The folder that was deleted from within OE may still be inside "Deleted Items.dbx", but probably only viewable as separate messages rather than as a separate folder containing messages, so your best bet is the DBX file you backed up.Please also be aware that copying a DBX fi... Hello Guys!

I was at a friends last weekend and rebuilt his computer. Two new hard disks were to be used and everything to be reinstalled. When finished, the last step was to transfer his data from the old hard disk. I removed the backup hard disk from the mobile rack and in went the old one. When everything had been copied over, I asked "are you sure that nothing is hidden somewhere?". "I'm sure" was the answer and I deleted the single partition on the old hard disk. Luckily, before I had a chance to create a new partition, he said "well, not really, I forgot, is it too late?".

I thought it was too late, unless some recovery software was purchased but I spent the best part of an hour on the Internet searching for freeware. Finally, I found TestDisk which comes in two flavours, DOS and Windows. I used the Windows based version and managed to recover the deleted partition.

Just thought I'd let you know ...... ...... but I have no idea what would have happened if I had created a new partition and formated!

Answer:Recover deleted partition !!

I don't think there's a possibility of recovering the whole drive, maybe he should be lucky to recover the file he wants to.

Did he deleted them from Recycle Bin too? Because if not, you can found them there, just right-click on your file and then, restore.
Other solution I don't know, only if System Restore can do something, but I'm not sure.

i was using this ACDSee Classic picture program to to view and delete a lot of photos about 8GB 27,500 pix worth. and i noticed these 2 .jpg files in the folder with all the other ones that had no image properties and had no picture to view even though they were about 120KB in size.. so i decided to delete them becuz they were corrupt i guess.. so apon deleting them the ACDSee app froze or something so I had to terminate its process from the task manager.. then when i went back to the picture folder it said that there were only 21,476 Files now with a total of 1.96GB of used space.. so this ACDSee picture app just deleted over 6GB of my Photos..
i tried a system restore but it wouldnt give me back my photos.. and then ended up somehow loosing all my system restore poins after that..???
i have the recycle bin turned off so all files are deleted instead of being moved to the bin..
Is there any app that can get me back my deleted photos..???

I have deleted some of my important files by mistake. It is not there in recycle bin as it was cleared by my friend . What I do now? Is there any way to recover it?

Answer:How to recover deleted files?

Hi, first thing is as soon as the files are deleted from the recycle bin their disk space is available to be overwritten. Therefore they may be recoverable, corrupted or unrecoverable.

You can try a program such as Recuva (free)- there are many.
Do not install it on the drive or partition from which you are trying to recover files.

Such programs usually offer two levels of scanning- deep scanning is slow, so specify what to scan carefully.

Obvious lesson: back up.

There are many backup programs at a file level, and then there's the strongly recommended approach of disk imaging.

Disk imaging even allows you to restore Windows if it is unbootable as it was when the image was created- and also to a new hard disk. E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + its boot medium + external storage.

Images also act as a full backup- you can extract files too.

I am using Windows 8.1 and wanting to get advice on a utility (either freeware or paid-for version-or even if one exists at all) which has the ability to restore files/folders once they have been deleted from the recycle bin.
I realise that there are oodles of utilities on the web which claim they can restore deleted files, and I have tested a few out; I now am having serious doubts that a restoration tool exists at all.
With every tool I tried out, it asks where the file?s original location was, then after initiating a search some files are found; here?s where things get interesting ? every file which is found already exists on the H/D and hasn?t even been deleted at all.
Is a undeleting tool simply media hype?
Has anyone used a ?undelete? utility which successfully does what it?s meant to?

Thank you

Answer:How come recover deleted files?

Because when a HDD Stores files it stores it Physically and Magnetically - The only way to secure delete something without it being recoverable is to write Data over. your computer may have not Written any data over those files yet

Hello
I used to have almost an entire hard drive (50 gb) worth of .wmv files (ripped my dvd collection). I had to delete all of it since I thought I would need the space for other files. That turned out not to be necessary so now I'm wondering if there is a way to get that data back. The entire folder was deleted - I think Windows said it was too big to put in the bin. I did not do any other work on that drive since.

I tried using some popular recovery programs: Recuva, Undelete plus, restore but they don't seem to get a trace of the files. Instead they display some bizzare files which appear to be from a previous windows instalation. Now I find it unlikely that the entire collection of over 100 hundred files would just dissappear without a trace. So maybe I'm doing something wrong or using the wrong software? I'd appreciate a hand.

edit: if you know about affordable commercial software that would do the job feel free to recommend

I can open the import in outlook express and find the path where the deleted items.dbx is but it give me an error because I have outlook express open to do this. I found a help topic that said to rename the file deletedold.dbx and it would restore but that didn't work either. Any help???

Answer:Need to recover deleted.dbx files

I understand what you are saying about finding the location of the deleted items.dbx file itself (within the system). Otherwise I'm struggling a bit to understand your question. Can you clarify what has happened and what you are trying to do please?Reading between the lines it appears that you might have deleted some emails from the Deleted Items box and are trying to recover them - is that right? If so, probably the best chance is to do System Restore to a date before that. There are free programs such as Recuva. If you can get the original old dbx file back (properly identified as such) you would then have to copy it on top of the one that now exists in the system, and the emails at that time would then be present in the OE Deleted Items box. When you rename the file deleted items.dbx Outlook Express will promptly create a new replacement file and therefore an empty Deleted Items box will appear in OE.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I keep My Documents, My Videos etc. on a separate drive to OS (on E:\)

Today I noticed that My Documents folder was duplicated within the My pictures folder ... checked original still there - and then deleted what I thought was dup ... and both folder now gone.

I run RECUVA and saved all deleted files to separate HDD so they are at least safe.
Could not see option in RECUVA to actually recover a folder & its file structure.

However it would take long time to recreate structure & copy back.

I understand W7 has a feature in it to recover a deleted folder ... I looked at info and it seemed to say select folder and the right click ............. can't do that as folder no longer shows.

Is there a neat way to recover folder none of the files will have been overwritten.

Answer:recover Deleted folder

Do you have system restore enabled? If so you can mount the system restore point and browse it to copy your documents folder back to where it should be. You'll only lose any cahnges that were made to it since the last system restore point before the folder was deleted was created. Let us know as there are a couple of free softwares that can recover folders using this method.

Hi All,
I accidentally lost all the pictures from my desktop and I am unable to recover them. This is what happened;
1. Created a folder under C: and gave it a name
2. I cut photos from the SD card and pasted them in to this new folder
3. Disconnected the SD card and removed it from the slot
4. I was then in the process of copying a movie file from the harddisk to a pen drive and that was when my 1 year old (whom I was carrying while doing the copy) banged on the laptop keyboard
5. The movie file got deleted from the folder and I couldn't find it in recycle bin too
6. Then I started doing "REDO" until I got the movie file back
7. Only to realize that the photos I previously copied were not there anymore in the new folder I created and the folder's name had changed back to "New Folder" (Basically the Folder name and the copy of the photos operation was undone :( )
I have tried a few recovery softwares both on the SD card and harddisk but no luck :( I lost around 200 photos and invaluable memories of a family trip

Any kind of help would be really appreciated

Thanks in advance,
Raghu

Answer:Recover Deleted Pictures

Hi Raghu,

Please understand that it is hard for us to retrieve deleted files.

However, I would like to provide the following suggestions for test:

Suggestion 1 System Restore
===================
1. Before you start, please close all open files and close all open programs.
2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and click System Restore.
3. Select "Choose a different restore point" and click Next.
4. From the restore points available, select an appropriate restore point when your system was working correctly and click "Next".
5. Click Finish and System Restore will restart the computer to apply these changes.

After restarting, check whether your system functions correctly now. If not, you can undo your last restoration or select another restore point in the System Restore user interface.

Note: System Restore affects Windows system files, programs, and registry settings. It also can make changes to scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files on your computer.
It does not affect personal files, such as e mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file.

Suggestion 2 Restore to Previous Versions
===========================
1. Right-click the folder that contains the photos you deleted and click Properties.
2. On the Previous Versions tab, choose a folder before you deleted the photos and click Restore.

Oye. Where to start. I had a problem on my comptuer, so I had to reinstall XP. All is well. I have "roaming profiles" set up on a "server" [really is just my profile on a XP Pro machine w/ a big hard drive]. They are on their own partition. I set my new install machine profile point to the place where it should be. I wanted to use it right away and not wait for it to copy the 12gb of My Documents to my computer at the moment, so I moved them to a different folder. I logged on, and did what I wanted to do. Then I moved My Documents back to the profile folder on the server. Logged off of my computer and logged back on. My Documents is GONE! Apparently, since when I logged on there wasn't a My Documents, and when I logged off, it was there, Windows thought it would get rid of it...and it did. I tried several data recovery programs, and only one was able to recover some of my files, but about 90% of them are useless. A document is just a bunch of ??Ya94~9??A ect ect. Pictures are unreadable, music is corrupt. I'm very organized, and have everything set up into folders and sub-folders upon sub-folders ect. I'd like to not have to find out where everything goes, but if all else fails, I guess I could. Its about 12gb, and if there is any way of getting it back, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. I called a guy who does this for a living, $500 flat rate, and if successsful $100/gb. It's not worth that much, but it has a LOT of value ... Read more

Let me start by saying I am NOT a computer geek, I had old videos for my late Father and my family saved at a portable hard drive and I was not aware it was deleted by mistake when my little one was playing on the computer; unfortunately I saved other files on the same hard drive.

I downloaded Recuva software to recover deleted videos and was able to recover some but when I tried to open them with window media player, it gave me an error message that says: Windows Media Player can not play the file. The Player mightnot support the file type or might not support the codec that was used tocompress the file. I can’t play it with real player too.

Thevideos were made by Sony camcorder between 2007 and 2009, unfortunately I don’t know the camcorder model to down load the software that came with it.
I would really appreciate any help

Answer:how to recover deleted files

Do a Google search for "File Recovery" and you will find hundreds (actually millions) of links to software that will do what you want. Bear in mind, though, a hard disk that has been in constant use (reading and writing) will have over-written many of the files (or parts of the files) and those will not be recoverable.

Answer:Recover deleted files

It's possible the filles may still be there. First try to undelete in your recycle bin. If that's a no go, there are a few commercial recovery programs out there. The only way you can possibily undelete files that have already been deleted in the recycle bin is using such a program provided the files have not been overwritten. If you write something to the same disk it doesn't necessarily mean your deleted files have been overwritten.
If a file recovery program doesn't work, they're gone forever.

(2) I found it in Recycle bin and "restored" it.
(3) However, the "restore" failed to include the normally hidden folder
C:\Documents and settings\<username>\LocalSettings and all of its contents!

(4) As a consequence, because LocalSettings includes ApplicationData\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst, I lost all of my emails, address book etc.

We have tried various recover programs including a deep scan of the directory of the hard disk by have failed totally to find the lost folder and its contents.

Does anyone have any idea what happened and suggestions for additional things to try?

Answer:Recover deleted mails

Sorry, you're out of luck

Didn't the "incredimail software" have warnings before you deleted your emails? If it did NOT, uninstall that software, it's unsafe.

You do not state what email client you use, unless it IS "incredimail." If it is Outlook 2002 or 2003, download and use the Microsoft Outlook PST Backup Utility.

It will add Backup to Outlook's File menu.

The backup will run after closing Outlook (you cannot backup PSTs while in-use).

The backup interface allows you to set a backup filename (if you don't want default), and location (path). For path I highly suggest you not use defaults, put your PST backups in a separate location like My Documents, or (better) on another HD. WARNING - you must specify filenames (optional) and paths for each PST, you should have an Outlook.pst & Archive.pst if you do archive your emails.

The backup interface also allows you to schedule when to backup, and the dialog will open on Outlook exit, on schedule. At work I set every 3-days.

At home I do not use MS Office but since I image my D:\APPS05 drive (includes my email client) every month, I can recover from that.

Hi all,

I deleted my Outlook .pst files and I need to recover; i purchased PC Tools data recovery program but it's not working for me.

At my work place we work on a roaming profile; i had problems loading my profile this morning and what i normally do is reload my profile by deleting my profile and then restarting my machine. I've done this before with no problems but this time it deleted my .pst file. Is there something else I can do to recover or get my .pst file back?

Thank you in advance.

I need to recover deleted IE history and have scoured all different sources for recovery and im starting to doubt whether or not it is possible.

What I know wont work:

System Restore- The history was deleted between restore points, and the restore points on either side of it being deleted dont have the relevant history

What I've tried:

Index.dat readers. This is what I'm confused about, everywhere I go say this file holds all IE history unless its been altered, but from everything I've actually tried it seems all the index files I can find just hold information I can pretty readily access already.

So I'm willing to try any suggestions, and also if anyone has a little more info on index.dat that would change what I've found out myself it would also be greatly appreciated.

You might try a program called Recuva from Piriform.. But I'm not sure if it will find deleted IE history temp files. Did you delete them from a cleaner program or from IE itself?

Someone can help me??? I deleted a lot of important photos from the bin of OneDrive, cause i had already downloaded the file .zip on my pc, but after i noticed that the fil .zip had just some photos....There is a way to recover photos from the bin?

Answer:Deleted photos, how can I recover them?

Nope. If you've deleted them from the recycle bin, they've gone. That's why the message says "Are you sure you wish to permanently remove these items?".

accidently deleted a file (Word 2003, XP Pro) is there any XP-PRO tool to recover file, or must I revert to a 3rd party
tool which one?
thanks

Answer:recover deleted file

Hi,
Have you explored the contents of the Recycle bin?
If it's not there, I find Restoration works well, it's free and free of adware etc:

I hope this does the trick?

On one of my laptops I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Usually when I upgrade it automatically creates a Windows.Old folder in my C Drive where I can access all my files from before the upgrade. But this time there was no Windows.Old folder. So I downloaded and ran a file recovery program...it found 0 old deleted files. I ran that same program on a different laptop and it worked fine. So where could the deleted files have went and how can I access them?

Answer:Can't Recover Deleted Files

Upgrades do not delete any files. They would be in the same location as they were when you left them.

If you did not upgrade, but installed a fresh copy of 7, the files are most likely underneath the OS and lost. The installation of the OS uses about twice the drive space that the final installation uses, so everything would have been written over.
