Can't click any text boxes in chrome

Question: Can't click any text boxes in chrome

I can't click on any textbox from chrome, such as the addressbar,
the ctrl+f window, the name box at the top of a bookmark editing window,
login prompts for ftp servers etc. Boxes inside webpages do work.

I've tried reinstalling Chrome, no effect. Doesn't occur in firefox (which I installed to check whether it was just chrome).

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Okay, I have had this computer a long time, it's always been an XP machine, though I upgraded to XP Pro recently, SP3 of course. Earlier this year, or maybe late last year, my fiance upgraded my whole computer for me, the only hardware that's the same is the hard drive, which is now a secondary hard drive, since they had to install a different hard drive to put the OS on. Don't ask me why, I don't get it, but it just wouldn't load on the old HD, probably because it already had an OS on it? Anyway, it's been fine this whole time, but yesterday my start menu started freaking out. I'd click Start, and the menu would pop up, then almost immediately disappear. If I'm quick enough, I can click on All Programs and then it will open the program list and stay open, which is nice. I figured I had a virus, so I tried opening my virus scanners to clean it up. They found a few things, but it didn't fix the start menu. I also noticed that any windows I have open will blink, like a program is trying to open in the foreground, but then doesn't. I looked online and tried checking my mouse, since some people in 2009 had said it was a glitchy mouse button, but that wasn't it. Then I tried booting in safe mode, running Avira Anti-Vir, and Spybot S&D. I found two more serious-sounding bugs and cleaned them up, but still no avail with the start menu and windows blinking. I did notice that these problems only occur in normal boot mode, not Safe Mode. ... Read more

Answer:Start Menu, right-click, text boxes closing/deselecting constantly

Also, I found out that when i shut my computer down (after a lot of effort trying to click it fast enough), I get an error that says Svchost.exe - DLL something or other, and says that the application failed to initialize since I'm shutting down. That's when I figured that I must have some corrupted file trying to open constantly, but crashing instead. Problem is, since it's a svchost.exe, I have no idea how to figure out what program is the one crashing or how to fix it. I saw someone else having a similar issue, but with more errors, and tried the steps to solving theirs, but it didn't help me (something to do with ipv6, which wasn't even installed on my computer). I'm still drawing blanks here.

Hello: (New to this or any forum for that matter)

Trying to get a cursor in this text box took 5 seconds. Hitting refresh in Gmail or any buttons within gmail or on-line apps takes the same amount of time. Just days ago all was fine - I downloaded some code (w/o properly using common sense - logic analysis code - technical - usually OK) and since that occurred having "response to mouse action" problems (just button clicks and text entry getting a cursor). Have also lost scroll capability in one application - not sure its related but suspicious. Scroll works fine in other apps like Visio.

Have run antivirus software (AVG & Bit defender and Microsoft Security Essentials has been ON all the time). Was thinking of running "combo box" repair utility from this site - but thought best to get advice first and that was also what was recommended.

Suggestions? Thnx in advance for your help.

Mod Edit:  Do NOT run ComboFix without proper instruction by MRL personnel - Hamluis.

Answer:Buttons, text boxes slow to respond (Gmail / Chrome including this web site)

Seems to be OK now.

Removed Chrome - re-installed - worried I would lose my mail - did not  -->> No change

Read some more - came across a forum discussing changing windows performance - played with  that no difference although one person states it resolved this issue.

Came across this web site:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/179159-troubleshoot-application-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html.

Played with MSCONFIG as suggested - however it locked up my machine -on reboot (windows was busy trying to stop apps during log off) - waited 1/2 Hour - removed the battery - rebooted came up with all the start-up items disabled, (which I believe I had disabled as suggested).

Opened chrome the problem was GONE. I was about to cut disabling the start apps in half to narrow down on the problem - but instead turned them all back to Normal - using Normal.

Returned Windows to Normal state using MSCONFIG - rebooted. and Voila (GOT LUCKY) - chrome and all other boxes including this one work 100% as before.

So what changed - beats me? But I am thrilled that my machine is back. I am running chrome Beta version now as suggested by one forum (problem remained it was the MSCONFIG selective - no start-up rtns / reboot / back to normal approach that seemed to have resolved the issue)

We'll see for how long this will stay the way it is now - if it comes back - I'll be back.

Anyway Thnx for letting me spell th... Read more

I have a serious problem. One of the client computers I administrate where I work is not displaying text in some dialog/alert boxes and many properties boxes. This started two days ago; today, Internet Explorer does not display web sites correctly: boxes where the user can enter text to search are appearing as small squares too small to type and read, and the buttons in the web sites are reduced to thin lines and no text in them. Finally, Outlook 2000 no longer displays any of the folders (Inbox, tasks, contacts). This also occurred today.

But here is the truly strange part. It only happens under one user logon. Under a different user logon, there are no problems with Internet explorer, dialog/alert or properties boxes or Outlook 2000. And the user can access her mailbox from another machine without problems.

The computer is running Windows 2000 Pro, SP-2 and is attached to a company network and domain. I believe that the user's file may be corrupt in some way that is causing these errors to occur only when that one person is logged on. And that user has not added additional software to the computer because only the Network and Client Admins have the authority to install programs.

So far I've run an anti-virus program, run Detect and Repair on Office 2000 Premium and run the Emergency Repair Utility from the Windows 2000 Pro disc... twice. But nothing has improved. I'm at my wits end.

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

I am preparing a computer to give to a friend - Windows XP home ed - and now I cannot change any text - for example, to change the name of a folder, it won't backspace or delete to let me put in a new name. Similarly, I go Run, try to input Regedit but it won't type. I tried typing into Wordpad and nothing happens.

Is it a keyboard problem? I tried another keyboard and the same thing happens.

Any ideas? Thanks

User has text boxes within cells of a table in Word 2003. Originally files were created in Word 97.

Copies text boxes into another existing file and the text changes size and will not fully show inside text box ie. it is chopped off. If copies text boxes into a brand new document, the paste is fine, all sizes correct.

When doing the paste, smart tag option of keep source formatting is selected but this seems to make no difference.

Any ideas?

Since you copy into an existing file, have you tried to enlarge the text area into which you copy in the existing file - try doing it before you copy into the text box if that is possible.

I have tried inserting my graphic in a seperate text box, yes the graphic is now movable, but still cannot wrap the text around this new text box with graphic.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

I recently started using my brothers computer because it's faster then mine. I brought it into my room, and plugged my own mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc. into it. However I took the video card (ATI Radeon 9250) from my old computer and installed it into his becase it's better. When I turned the computer on and installed the driver for the video card, I had an unusual problem. I was unable to highlight any text on the computer, and I was unable to type into text boxes such as the Google search bar or even the one used to change passwords in the Windows User Accounts. No text field will work, it won't even let me click into them (the flashing line doesn't show up, indicating I can type).

I have tried everything to fix this, I used my brothers mouse, keyboard and monitor, I've updated the video card driver, ran virus scans, but nothing. And now when I remove the new video card and use the one with the computer (I uninstalled the drivers as well), it still won't work. It was never like this before, did I somehow permanently damage the computer? I was very careful when I put in the video card. I have never heard of this problem before, and it's driving me insane. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

In Word, when I cut and paste text into a new text box, when I click outside of the text box the text disappears. AND when I click back in the text box I can't see the text either. When I right-click to select the text box I can very briefly see the pasted text, but then it disappears.

OK...this may not help, but I'll toss it out anyway. Some of the later versions of Office for Windows, such as 2010 and 2013, have known bugs when it comes to displaying and selecting things that are on the screen. For example, Excel has a nasty habit of selecting a range of cells instead of just the one you've selected. As you click around, the range keeps changing shape, but it stays hung up on multiple cells and you can't get it to select just one. Believe it or not, the solution is to change the Zoom level of the displayed sheet, making it very small and then it bringing it back to the former setting. Suddenly you are now able to select a single cell. It's kind of like you shook the pointer loose. ;-) It seems that Excel doesn't play well with the display drivers. You could give that try, or you could try minimizing then maximizing the window or dragging it to another monitor if you have one or Zooming it, etc. If you find something that works, please post it here so that it will get stored in the archives. How To Post Data or Code ---> Click Here Before Posting Data or VBA Code

Hi G0N,

Which browser are you using?

Do you mean that things are already filled into spaces when you get there? If you are using Internet Explorer, Autocomplete maybe turned on. There is a setting to let autocomplete help with forms. That setting can be cleared/ and is found by:

Clicking TOOLS on the top toolbar and selecting OPTIONS.
A window will open - click on the CONTENT tab.
Click on the AutoComplete Button - located in the personal information section.
The AutoComplete window will open. Uncheck the FORMS check box and click on clear forms.

Question: Vb Text Boxes

ok, here's another vb problem.

With the text box control. I gave it a vertical scrollbar using its scrollbar property. The text box is used to receive messages from another machine (chat program). now, whenver the text in the box exceeds the height of the box this is what happens:

1. scrollbar appears
2. txtbox is refocused to top of box
3. new text is printed at the bottom of the box
4. any new text that appears in the box repeats steps 2 & 3.

I want to be able to have the text box autoscroll, so that whenever new text is entered, the box stays focused on the new text. instead of refocusing at the top of the box.

This is not earth shattering but I have often wondered.

Sometimes the "Descriptive Text Boxes" that come up when you hover over your quick launch icons don't work, then they just start working again. Is this just another one of those Window's anomalies.

Answer:Text Boxes

I've seen where you have a partial crash and the icons in the activity box by the time go away, then you reboot and they come back, maybe it's due to a partial crash, perhaps just a "welcome to windows", perhaps, just PFM..

I am looking for a code tool to manage HTML text editing, like the one in this forum, however It needs to be build for dummies (e.g. some of my customers.)

I currently use active edit, but is a little bit flakey. Any one know of any good products? Preferable server side.

Answer:Text editing boxes in ASP or ASP.NET

Well. if you want a WYSIWYG editor, and the people using the editor are sure to be using IE, then you could go for an editable Iframe. Simply make a javascript to copy the source code of this iframe to a hidden input field, so when you submit the form it sends the source code along with it. You can also make buttons to add bold text, italic text, align text, insert pictures (make sure you get the URL right... you may want to add a picture uploader). It's all client side, so the client can see the page as they edit it.

My web design company has its own WYSIWYG editor, but I can't really give you the full source code for it, as I'd have to charge you for it

I don't know of any pre-made products that use this, other than some CMS software.

Hi

I use a 3D graphics program called Poser5. They have issued 4 service releases. The first two worked fine, but 3 and 4 cause the program to freeze-up whenever I click on the text boxes that pop-up to change settings. Prior to installing the SR3 or 4, the boxes read 0.0000, after, they read 00000, the decimal is missing. Tech suport called them wxWindows. Here's what they wrote me:
***
The text boxes that appear when you click on any of the paramter values are "wxWindows" boxes which interface directly with Windows. This is essentially the Operating System at this point (similar in a way to renaming a file). There must be something running in the background possibly a startup item or service that is conflicting.
***

They suggested disabling all non-system programs through msconfig, then reboot, which I did, to no avail. I have regularly run Spybot-search & destroy, Adaware, Norton Windoctor. I've looked at event logs and haven't seen evidence of an error at the time of the freeze up (if I'm looking in the right place- Admin tools).

Any ideas where to look for whatever conflict my pc is having? Tech support has never heard of this problem and can't/won't help.

Thanks

I have an issue with text boxes within Windows XP & all applications. The font in all related applications now falls outside of the text boxes e.g. MS Outlook 2007, Options - all of the wording appears bolded and is to big for the text box. All of the text boxes in applications are also now shifted off-center to the right. Also, the appearance & spacing of the Start Menu items has been slightly modified.

Question: Remove text boxes

I have an application that creates its output as a Word file. However, the file consists of many individual text boxes and editing is a chore. Is there a way to eliminate the text boxes and have the result be a normal word document? I want to preserve the text location and properties that was contained in the boxes.

Answer:Remove text boxes

You need to mention what is the software that you are using and what are you converting from. I assume that you trying to convert from PDF to word. In that case most softwares use the textbox method and I am afraid theres no work around to that. You can either get proper layout with textboxes OR just text with no layout

I have two things that are messed up right now.. One, all the scrollbars on the internet are gone. There's grey where they should be. I can still scroll, I have the scrolly thing on my mouse, and I can do it if i click where the scroller should be and drag it down. I have msn, if that helps. Also, most text boxes on the internet are gone. Its just blank where they should be. Some are there, like here, but on yahoo, myspace, and others they're gone. I tried deleting my temporary internet files to see if the cache was messed up, but its still gone.Help please!

Answer:Scrollbars and text boxes are gone.

I don't like to ask a question with a question, but, are there any words in the "gray area" at the top of your screen? If so, check out the word 'Tools". If you don't have any words, I'd try going back to the basics. Get off the net, and reboot your computer- turn it off and on. Then, go "Start" - "Control Panel" and see "System Tools". Click on that and see if that helps. If it were me,I'd go "Start"-"Run"- type in the word "defrag"and let it clean out your harddrive. Click on the "Legends" and see how cluttered your harddrive is. That's what I'd do to each drive in my computer. I do this monthly to mine just to keep it running smoothly. I hope this helps, and good luck.

Question: HTML Text Boxes

Hi, how am i able to have a HTML textbox locked so that the user cannot edit the contents of it?

Answer:HTML Text Boxes

In what context ?A textbox is, by default, an editable area of an online form.If you want to have a textbox that may not be typed in your can simply add the following tag into the textbox snippet:readonly="true"The whole snippet would look something like this:<input name="" type="text" readonly="true" />I'm not sure why you'd want a textbox that may not be edited unless you are going to populate it with dynamic content where you are using it to display a value pulled from another source.Anyway, it's not for me to know why you want to do it. The above is how you can do it though. Hope it helps.T

In Word 2010, is it possible to place a photo inside a text box. Our computer club is looking to move from Publisher to Word for our newsletter to make use of the web apps in Skydrive. I'm the newsletter editor and have been experimenting with Word to see if it can do the job for us. The problem, our newsletter has always had lots of photos (we don't print out - it's only accessible online); and while using text boxes has been an easier way of entering blocks of text, I can't get a photo inserted and get text to wrap around it. Am I doing something wrong with a simple insert or is this not possible.

In firefox go to "view", toolbars and then click "customise". Maybe you can fix what you have described by customising what icons you get to see in the toolbars

I bought this Chromebook to use at school so that I could model what my students were doing in class and purchased it on Amazon. It was listed as "used-in new condition," and I had to open some of the packages when it got here (I think someone probably wanted to see what it was like before they bought it for their school). Sometimes for no reason, when you click on a link or try to close a window, the boxes that you get when you would normally right click on a topic pop up on the screen and basically freezes you out of using the device. The only way around it is to shut the lid and then reopen it and enter your password again. I might have to do this five to six times in ten minutes . . . but I can also go an hour without it happening. There is no rhyme or reason to this. I thought it might be the "tap to enter" under the trackpad in the menu, but that didn't help.  Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm kind of at my whit's end and am about ready to try to return this and simply use the laptop my district has provided me, but as a teacher, I want to model what we are doing on the device the kids are using because there are differences between their laptops and mine. Thanks!

Answer:Right-click boxes pop up for no reason - can't use...

Hi JillG92,
Welcome to Lenovo Community.  I don't have a Chromebook, so I cannot offer much help, but just so other helpers have a few more details, exactly which model do you have - ThinkPad or Yoga? Do your students currently have the same model? Have you borrowed one of theirs to compare theirs and yours? Perhaps someone with the same model will be able to offer advice. If not, you might consider returning it to Amazon.

Hi All,A small prob seems to have appeared after I inadvertantly executed what I thought was going to be a funny .exe file.To sum up, it was scanned and found to be virus free, but said something about DOS and printers in a DOS style pop-up box.I closed it down but it seems as though it has changed the size of the text in all of my pop-up boxes to a big sans-serif style. The Pop-up boxes don't re-size so I can't see half of the adjustments such as my printer properties dialogue box.I can forward screen shots to anyone who wants to have a look if it helps. Here's hoping cos it's a real pain in the butt.

Which operating system, REG228? Anyway, go to Control Panel > Display > Appearance tab > Advanced button > Item drop down menu and choose Message Box and see if things can be changed back in there. Or if you're using XP or ME try a system restore.

I can connect one page to another but when I copy a page from a Word document to Publisher, what I'm getting is a series of mini-text boxes for each paragraph of the word document. I've tried to connect them through the normal means (of using that infinity icon with the cup icon) but when I highlight the text box I'm trying to connect, the icons remain grey. I am left with a bunch of text boxes on a page that don't connect and can't find a way of doing so.

Sir,In VB-6 application, there are 15 text boxes and these get data from mdb file. I want to use the data of these text boxes in a array, how can I ?Example             text1.text=100, text2.text=200 and so on upto text15.text           Dim test(15),To put these value in a array            for i = 1 to 15                   test(i)=val(text(i).text))  ' so that test(i) may contain data of text1.text           nextThis is not working, why? Please tell me reason or solution

Answer:In VB-6 to put text boxes data in a array

create a control array.Or you could create a property procedure in your form, for example:Code: [Select]Public Property Tbox(Byval Index as Long) as TextBox
if index=1 then set TBox = Text1
if index=2 then set TBox = Text2
if index=3 then set TBox = Text3
 ' and so on...

End Property

a Control array is created by copy-pasting the same control, or a control with the same name as a control on the form.

40 years beating on computers and I still don't know nuttin!
Developing a touch screen keyboard for a US Navy trainer and just for fun developed a full QWERTY keyboard. Everything seems to work great except the Insert key. Insert seems to have no effect. I was using Notepad for testing.

I then rebooted, in case I had messed something up system wise, opened Notepad, and using just the normal keyboard was unable to get the Insert key to have any effect. It inserts only never overtypes. I then opened a couple utility programs I've written that include text boxes created in Visual C resources and they act the same as Notepad, no overtype, insert only.

This edit box I'm writing in here acts correctly as does Word, Wordpad and the input text box in Google using either my touch screen keyboard or the actual keyboard. I'm assuming that Notepad being a throwback to WIndow -1.0 just doesn't support the Insert key and that the edit box probably has some secret flag to set to get it to work with Insert.

It's not a big thing but I'm very curious about how to get my text boxes to act the way they should with the Insert key.

Thanks, Bob Ritter

Answer:Notepad, text boxes and the INSERT key

It is not that they do not support the INSERT key, it is that they do not support the OVERTYPE mode, which is a feature of upper level editors; not simple editors like Notepad.

I was on a few different websites when I noticed this.

I was on songsterr.com looking at tabs and when I went to type in an artist's name into the search box it simply says "Internet Explorer has stopped working..." and it will close whatever site I was at. I can usually get 2-3 letters in before the message appears.

I also noticed this when I tried logging into my online Sirius.com account. I launch the online radio player and when I go to type in my account details it stops me after about 3 letters and closes it after showing me the same message.

Very annoying especially since Firefox/Chrome offer no support for the Sirius.com player.

I don't know if I'm posting in the correct forum but I've been having problems writing in text boxes such as the messaging ones on facebook or when I'm leaving a review for something. Once the message gets to a certain length the scroll bar will jump to the middle of the box and almost lock there. I can still continue typing the message but the scroll bar will not go down to the end of the message instead jumping to the middle again. I can't manually move it using the cursor because it will just jump to the middle again. Hope I'm making sense...this sounds a bit jumbled I know but the it's really becoming a problem. I can't type messages to a certain length and end up finishing it on word and pasting it into the message box.

Anyone come across this? Using mailmerge in Word 7, with a template with a picture box (our logo) top left, and a text box (containing address) top right. If I print the document without merging any data, it's fine. As soon as I import my data - nowhere near either of the boxes - the address text box to the right of the logo picture box gets partially obscured by blank space and ends up showing only the last half of each line. If I remove the picture box, the contents of the text box print OK; or if I take the address out of the text box and enter it as indented text in the same place to the right of the logo, it's also fine.

Answer:Mailmerge and Text/Graphics Boxes

Sounds as if the text boxes may need resizing.

Just try touching the text box, grab the corner anchor point, then push it towards the middle, without changing the layout of your text.

A few questions from a n00b:

1) I'm needing to change some textbox values depending upon what I choose from a combo box. For instance, when a user selects a certain vendor from the dropdown list, I want the remaining text boxes underneath (address, phone, etc) to fill in, depending on what they chose. I've done this for an entire page, but can't figure out how to constrain it to a few text boxes on a page.

2) I need to figure out how to sort a combo box list. For instance, my current page is for Purchase Orders. I have a combo box at the top, showing all PO #s, for users to click on and it auto-populates the fields below. The records themselves in the table will sort by PO # just fine, but the dropdown list shows the records by when they were created. How do I go about placing a sort on that box?

Answer:VBS: auto-complete text boxes

sorting should be done via the query to populate your list box in your asp page. The other things should be done via javascript. Look up cascading combo boxes using javascript.

Hello all, my first post here, so be gentle... I have had a problem on my computer for about 2 weeks now. I am using WinMe and Internet explorer. Now, my problem is that all my check boxes(when I need to verify something) online and offline are all messed up, no box and no check, just some crazy text character in it's place. Also, when I open up a new page, it won't accept any change in text/font changes(it won't save them after I reset explorer) and also, when I use a program that has, say a list of different languages, the drop box opens and instead of a list of text*(different languages) it is just a list of text and characters(for example, where it should say english, it has ?`,..*^&&^ <--something like that). And when I use any writing program, like Word, there is no list at all for different fonts, just a blank list with a couple choices. It is getting crazy, I can't read my internet sites, the text is so garbled, I change the fonts and text to say Unicode, and it makes it readable, but then the next site I visit, the text is all garbled again. Any help? I ran 3 different ad-aware programs and virus checked, but I don't know how to fix this problem at all.

Answer:text/drop boxes messed up

oh, and maybe to explain my problem a little better, all of my icons seem to be messed up. For example, in my drop boxes, instead of having a down arrow, they all have the #6..in Explorer, where you click to minimize/maximize your window, there are a 0, 2, and a P instead of the box graphics. My back arrows are all number 6's as well.....ohhhh, I hope I don't need to wipe my computer~~~

I do not know of anything other than the layout text boxes which autofit. I?ve just come up against a little niggle with MS-Word 2010.
I decided to make a Tenancy Agreement Form for my neighbour. He was really chuffed with my efforts,,, until he tried to type into the boxes.
He could only type into the first box at the top of the page, but not the others.
It looks like I only made ?boxes? on the form, instead of ?TEXT boxes?. ?No probs? thought I. I?ll just replace ?em all with said text ones.
For some reason, I can?t seem to replace the rest of the boxes (about a dozen) with text ones.
I deleted the second box, and tried to copy/paste the first one,,,, but that wouldn?t take. So I tried to Insert another text box, but that won?t take either.
I?ve used Word for many years, but havn?t come across this before.
Any ideas what I?m doing wrong please ?

Answer:Text boxes in MS-Word 2010

I only have Word 2003 but using the "Forms" toolbar and creating a Form might be the way to go. You then create the fields into which data can be added and the rest of the document is "locked" so that it cannot be altered. A password can be used to prevent the form from being unlocked again from the Forms toolbar.

Can anyone explain this....
Word document containing text, pictures and text boxes. Document has review changes switched on with all changes made showing in bubbles. When choose to accept all changes the text in the text boxes disappears.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Answer:Text Boxes disappearing when using reviewing

The text in the bubbles is the text that you have removed from your document and your new text is already in the main body of the document.
When you tell Word to accept all changes, it auotmatically removes the bubbles as they each contain the old text that is no longer needed. At that point your updated document doesn't have any alterations to it anymore.
That makes sense to me.

If you have made a c*ck up, you can use Ctrl + Z as many times as you like to undo your actions. Provided you haven't saved the document and closed it.

This is what it says in the help for word on track changes.
About tracked changes and comments
To facilitate online review, Microsoft Word allows you to easily make and view tracked changes (tracked change: A mark that shows where a deletion, insertion, or other editing change has been made in a document.) and comments (comment: A note or annotation that an author or reviewer adds to a document. Microsoft Word displays the comment in a balloon in the margin of the document or in the Reviewing Pane.) in a document. In order to preserve the layout of your document, Word shows some markup (markup: Comments and tracked changes such as insertions, deletions, and formatting changes. View markup when you want to process tracked changes and comments. Print a document with markup to keep a record of changes made to a document.) elements in the text of the document while others are displayed in balloons (balloons: In print layout view or Web layout ... Anything you installed recently prehaps a particular program/plugin?

Edit: Do you have AVG safe searched enabled? Taking a punt here but seen this

Have you tried?

Ok here is my problem .....

I have designed a form that once you click on the command button it will run a query. I have one text box that provides the criteria for the query to search.
What I would like to be able to do is provide another text box for another way of searching.
I would like these text boxes to be independant of each other. So, if one is blank it will just look to the other for the search criteria.
Now what I have for the one criteria in the query itself is as follows ....
"Like [forms]![VendorLookupTool].[VendorName]" so it will look to the form (obviously).
Which works just fine for the one box. But, as you probably already know, if I try the same kind of deal for the other search criteria, it is going to want BOTH filled in.
I need something that is going to basically look to one and if null then look to the other and vise versa.

Any ideas? I would love some input on this!

Thanks!

Answer:Multipal Text Boxes in Access

Try this first:

"Like IIf(IsNull([forms]![VendorLookupTool].[VendorName])= False, [forms]![VendorLookupTool].[VendorName], [forms]![VendorLookupTool].[OtherField])"

That will check the first box and use it if there's something in it. If it's empty it will use the second.

If you need something more flexible or complicated you can create your query in VB. In that case give us the conditions when either box will be used and the current SQL query and we'll try to put it together for you.

Good Luck!

All,

I've been using XP SP3 for the past few weeks and I've noticed that the text boxes for the icons I have in the status bar never appear properly.

As shown above, the text box seems to be behind the task bar. I've looked in the task bar options and the only option on there that seems remotely connected to this (Keep the task bar on top of other windows) is not the one. If that is un-checked then the Firefox window covers the taskbar.

Does anyone know what I can do to show the full text box?

Answer:Showing Status Bar Text Boxes in XP SP3

From what I've seen, you're stuck. It's a known Windows bug that's migrated version to version and still shows in Vista apparently. The only 'fixes' I've seen are temporary, but you can either log off then back on, not use the Win-D shortcut to minimize all windows, or uncheck the option to have the taskbar stay on top of all windows.

Hello,
Word 2003 "Read" shows the Text Boxes created in Word XP.
However, when I turn "Read" off to display the document in Word the Text Boxes don't show. Text around and between the boxes does show.
What setting do I need to change?
Thanks

Answer:Word Text Boxes don't show

You must be in View-Print layout.
Also:
Tools-Options, View.
Check Drawing objects

This is probably some kind of an easy fix that I'm just overlooking, but I don't have time to dig around looking for it today.

I'm trying to make and label maps at work on an Excel spreadsheet. The way it works is that I copy the maps to clipboard from Geowebworks, paste them into the spreadsheet, and then I label my locations in Excel by typing my label in an off the main page cell, copying it and then pasting it on top of the map. My problem is, whatever label or symbol I try to paste on top of the map shifts up and left when I go to print the map, so it looks fine on the screen, but it's all messed up in print preview and hard copy.

Is there something I can do to ensure that what I see is what I get? It would save me a lot of time.

Thanks.

Answer:Shifting Excel Text Boxes

Is there any particular reason you're using Excel? If I understand what you're doing, it might work better in PageMaker or even Word.
