document editing of scanned document?

Question: document editing of scanned document?

I am a teacher in Tennessee and I need to find a software that will enable me to edit and change a scanned document. I have some old tests and worksheets that I inherited from the teacher that had my room before me. I would like to make some minor changes to the documents without having to retype the entire set of documents. (Things like change the date and the teacher name on the heading, etc...)

Is there a software out there that will allow me to scan a document in and then alter it? These are not copyrighted materials, so that is not an issue.

Preferably, I would like a freeware or shareware or trial version of something to make sure I can navigate it before I shell out a chunk of cash to purchase something.

As a teacher, it is important to me that my materials look professionally done, so I would prefer to edit them on a computer rather than use white out and pen.

thank you so much

Preferred Solution: document editing of scanned document?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You can use OCR, i.e text recognition. I'm not 100% sure if Adobe Reader does it, but Adobe Acrobat Pro definitely does. There's probably a few other free alternatives out there as well.

I have a scanned doc that I need to fill out.  How do I do this?

Answer:Editing a scanned document

Hi, You need to scan again using a proper OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. Many HP middle and high end printers have this software but not on many normal low end printers. Depending on what is your printer, you may have to buy an OCR software - thereare some freeware around:    http://free-ocr-to-word.en.softonic.com/   http://www.free-ocr.com/ Regards.

Hello,

I want to scan a document, save it and then edit that document by adding info. It is an application form. How do I do it. I am using a modern scanner, XP home,SP3 and Microsoft Home and Student 2010.
I have tried but am unable to do it. Hoping someone can help.
Thanks

Answer:Editing a scanned document

Hello and welcome to the forum!

When you scan a document you basically take a picture of it, pretty much just like a photocopy.
If you want to edit the document you need OCR software (Optical Character Recognition)
Whats the make, model of the scanner so that we can check to see if the manufacturer has OCR software available.

I have a Lexmark X125 all in one printer, scanner, fax and copier. I scanned a document which I wanted to edit and was unable to do that. It scanned as a .jpg file; then I attempted to scan it as a txt file but that didn't work either.

Any suggestions, or is this something I am unable to do?

Thanks

Answer:editing a scanned document Help!!

You will need to use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. Most scanners come with software which includes at least a limited version of OCR.

Be forewarned...OCR does its best to figure out what each character is during the scan but it's never perfect. Even the high-dollar OCR stuff makes some mistakes.

OCR also tends to fail miserably with heavily formatted documents...tables, forms, lines, boxes, etc....and with that sort of page, it's often faster just to recreate it in Word than to spend the time fixing the errors in the scanned version.

Finally, the better the original, the better your chances of getting a decent document to work with. Faint letters, smudges from copier toner, stains and even colored paper will add to the software's confusion during the scan.

The document has been saved using Adobe
Any advice much appreciated

Answer:Emailing a scanned document

Just attach your scanned document as you would any other image, as a scan is nothing more than a photograph of the document. There is no need to use Adobe. If using Gmail just click on attach file, go to where you have saved your scanned image and click on open.

Answer:Scanned document problem

You need to find out what file format the document has been sent to you in, (jpeg, tiff, bmp etc), right click it and select properties that should tell you what it it, next you need to download and install a viewer program that will open that particular file, (and others) members on the forum seem to favour Irfan view but there are plenty of other free ones about, some are available from click hereHope this helps...alB

I'm trying to convert a scanned document to a pdf file so I can type to it. I have downloaded a free program called Primo but it is not working.HELP!!

Answer:how can i print to a scanned document

PrimoPDF, like many other free PDF converters, installs as a printer and creates a PDF file when you "print" to it from another application. These utilities do not allow for editing of the PDF file.In most cases, what you need to is scan the document into a word processing application, such as MS Word, edit it and then print it to a PDF converter - assuming PDF is the final format you are going for.In addition, your scanner software needs to have OCR (Optical Character Recognition) capabilities in order to create a file that can be edited. If your scanner/scanner software is only capable of creating images from a scanned document, you won't be able to edit any text in the scanned file.It is my understanding that there are free PDF creation utilities that allow for editing of the document, but I am not familiar with any of them so I can't make a recommendation. (Maybe somebody else will step up.) I just noticed that the PrimoPDF site offers a free trial of utility called nitroPDF, but it's $99 to purchase it.My main point here is that utilities such as PrimoPDF, CutePDF and PDFcamp Printer are not going to allow you edit the PDF's that they create.

how do i make a 10.3 mb doc 9.7?

Answer:making a scanned document smaller

Use a smaller font. But seriously, There are two ways to create a scanned document, one is to just scan it and create a picture of the document. This can become rather large. The other way is to scan it using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and turn it into text. This will make the file much smaller.

Hi GuitarNigel,

This is certainly an odd one. I'm not sure how the Chromebook would have any influence over this once you can pull a document store on Google Drive and print it.

I'm making an assumption that you're probably saving these as PDFs and using Adobe to open them in most instances? If you have someone who could try, have them open up the Print, select Advanced and then check the "Print as image" option and see if that allows them to print.

[H]ey guys,

I have an issue, I have Adobe Standard installed, and I have the document scanned and into a PDF right now. I've tried analyzing the document with the built in OCR software inside Adobe and I can select and find text, but it's not allowing me to edit any of the text in here. If I copy and paste it into word, it will copy the text but ignore all formatting.

The security on the PDF document allows me to do everything. Does anyone have any ides for me to try in doing this?

Answer:Using Adobe 9 to edit scanned document

Make sure "searchable text" is selected within the Adobe config as well. Or just try converting to RTF (rich-text format) within Adobe. Just some ideas if you can't get this working...go to www.ecopy.com and download the trial version of ecopy desktop. It's a great PDF editing tool with a slightly better OCR engine.

Anyone know a better way?

2/also, on a brochure, there are diff. pictures, and i want to extract one of the pictures and use it as logo; what's the easiest way to grab just that picture from that page?

Thanks.

Answer:need help extracting text from a scanned document

Scanning text as text rather than an image requires OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. Most scanner software includes some version of OCR.

If you scan the document in using OCR, you might have an easier time of it when converting to pdf and I know you'll be able to copy text.

Unfortunately, OCR is limited in what it can do. It has to look at the document being scanned and basically guess what character the mark on the page represents. The more limited (i.e., cheaper) the OCR software, the worse it will be at guessing. The poorer the quality of the original (faded type, photocopier smudges, colored paper, etc.) the more often it will guess wrong. The more heavily formatted the document (forms, tables, borders, lines), the more mistakes the software will make.

After you've scanned using OCR, just open it in a word processing program and clean up any mistakes.

As far as getting one image from a page, just scan the page in as an image, open it in some graphic/picture editing software (even MS Paint should be able to do this), use the selection tool to select the picture and either copy and paste it into a new image or use the "crop" or "edit" feature of the software you use to take out everything but what you have selected. Then save it.

Long story short - I wrote a 300 page story in word and (luckily) printed a draft copy. The PC got a virus and I had to reformat the hard drive, losing the Word document. The only way to get the manuscript back into the PC for further editing etc, is to scan it, page by page, (using Abby fine reader) This saves each page as an individual word document. How can I let Word know that each page sequentially follows the last and they are all part of the same document?cheersMatt.

You can scan it using Optical character recognition (OCR) software if the scanner supports it and save it as a word document or and RTF. Unfortunately it won't retain the formatting very well and it will struggle with some of the special characters. But you will be able to edit it, so you should be able to reformat it back the way it was.

I suspect because the boxes are lines and and not text. In DI I can add the text but it does not get to Word. If I print from DI
all I get is the text that was added but not the rest of the form.
Where do I go from here?

Regards,
Brian.

A follow up question came in based on yesterday?s tip for directly inserting scanned images into a message;
Is it also possible to attach these scanned images instead of inserting them into the message body?
When scanning in a document such as a signed contract, it doesn?t make sense to insert them into the message body

Hi... Just installed Thunderbird, latest version. When scanning a multi-page document to email with the Brother h/w device, I get multiple emails, one for each scanned page. I checked the settings for scanning and the only items that lists multi-page are TIF files, which isn't going to be adequate...PDF's are required. Outlook Express manages all the attachments into one email message, so it's not the printer/scanner device setting. How can I correct this?

Another computer in the office using the same model brother printer/scanner and the same version of Thunderbird works fine - multi-page documents scan fine to one email.

Answer:Solved: thunderbird creates multiple emails for scanned to email document

Well, after doing nothing particularly different.. reboot, and change to TIFF...and back to PDF, importing scan as attachment is working fine... so I guess solved. Although I have no answer as to why it wasn't working correctly in the first place.

Hello, 1st post.
I have scanned a document( application form ) using a reasonably modern flat bed scanner. I have saved the document in a folder. What do I need to do in order to be able to fill in that application form and save changes for ongoing editing ?

I notice whenever I use the Documents folder to type in lines of text arranged in columns, I can not edit the a line of text and move it up or down on the page as i would like to.Example, each line might be an author's name and it would be useful to arrange these authors in alphabetical order. At the moment, this seems to be impossible. Can anyone suggest a method of overcoming this problem?,. Thankyou.

The best way to sort a list would be to use a table.

I've scanned a document with ABBY Fine Reader 5.0 and want to edit it by breaking some long solid paragraph instructions into separate lines. The original document is single line spacing but whenever I insert the new line command it goes to double line. Format-Paragraph-Spacing shows single even in the areas where I have created new lines that are double spaced. I've tried copying into a new document but although it copies as single line it still goes double when I use the new line key. I'm using Works 6.0.

Hi

I transferred some perosnal files (.rtf) from my corporate laptop(XP) to my laptop(Office 2007) and then from my laptop to a third laptop(XP). When I try to open this .rtf file in this third laptop, the file opens but does not allow me to do any type of editing - it does not allow to copy the contents of this file, the .rtf simply closes without giving any warning or error message. I've too many such .rtf files and cannot afford to live with this problem. I urge you guys to provide some way out of this frustrating problem. I tried to save this (.rtf) file to word (.doc) file with a new name but it still does not allow any editing and closes on its own.

Please help.

Whenever I scan a document or text from a multi-funtion printer to the computer in order to edit it,it goes into Windows Photo Gallery as a jpg file.I'm not super capable on the computer and I can not get the scanned text to move somewhere to edit.Tried dragging it to Wordpad and Notepad, but when it opens it just looks like chicken scratches,it will go to Paint, and come up as a recognizable image, but I'm still unable to edit the text.I seem to spend hours going around in circles.Fortunately,my window doesn't open so I still have the computer,Vista and all.Can anybody help? Thank you. Chris

Answer:Scanning A Document To Vista For Editing

When you scan an image, the entire thing becomes an image. There is no text in the image.... there is a picture of text. As far as the computer is concerned, there is no text. If you want to change text in an image, you need decent graphics software and manually remove the colors, lines, and squiggles that represent text.

Here at work, we have Excel 7 and Windows XP Professional. I am having the problem of being locked out of a shared document randomly. It says that I am the one currently editing it, giving me the option to Read Only or to be Notified later, but I do not have the document open. I have re-booted the computer but that doesn't change the situation. It will eventually release the document and open properly, without any effort on my part, at some random point in the future, 30 minutes later or the next day. For both occurrences, the message has said that it is me that is editing the document when it has locked up for editing, and I was not in the document at all. I share this document with 8 other people. Can you help me eliminate these occurences?

I'm sorry if this is not the right thread to post this question - but I can't find an appropriate forum.

My daughter bought me an HP Photosmart printer/scanner/copier for xmas. I need to scan quite a few legal documents into the computer and then I want to edit the documents once scanned. So far I can't edit anything scanned.

I heard that I need a CDR or Adobe Writer to do this. I just checked Adobe Writer online and it's $129 ---- far cheaper for me to retype all the documents from the originals. Is there any free software that would enable me to edit a scanned document so I don't have to retype everything?

Thank you!

You should be able to do a SAVE AS and choose a different name and then be able to open the new one.

If not, you can CRTL A and copy and paste the whole thing in a new .doc.

And I've never tried THIS but you might look into it.

There is a document which has been created by myself then password protected with Tools/Track changes switched on.
This should keep track of any editing performed on the document.
Each editor is usually symbolised by different coloured text.

I sent it to Mr B who made some changes and then sent it back. His changes are shown by red text.

I now need to make some further changes before passing it back to Mr B.
The trouble is my changes are coming up red also, so we will not be able to distinguish who made which comment.

Can you advise?

I have found that when i create a new registry in regedit under current user - office - word - it does work, but i lose all my settings, ne way round for me to prevent losing all mt settings

Under Tools, Options, there's a tab called Track Changes.

Bring that up and make sure that the Color sections say By Author.

Let me know if this does the trick.

When saving a Word 2007 document as a webpage (htm, html), an extra folder is automatically created besides the hmtl document itself. This folder contains background information like pictures, wallpaper etc. Is there a way to prevent that folder from being created in the first place? I've got Word 2000 on another computer, and when I save my word documents as html files over there, that extra folder is not generated. The only time that folder is created in 2000 is if my documents contain pictures, wallpaper etc. In Word 2007, it is created all the time, even though my documents are just plain text.

Answer:Solved: Word 2007, saving document as html document: how to get rid of extra folder?

Managed to find the solution, it was very simple after all. One has to save the document as a filtered webpage and click "yes" when a box pops up warning you that you will use certain featuers which are specific to Office2007, such as the background. Then the document will save without that extra folder and files.

This is just one of those odd quirks I have run into. When I open a new document in Word, then open an older file, the new document closes and only the old one is displayed.Using Microsoft Office 2010, specifically Word.Windows 7 64-bitA bit of explanation, I often do research/writing for school or for fun. This issue has always happened, just one of those small annoyances. Here is the exact thing that is happening:1. I open a new (blank) word document, by clicking on the Word icon or by selecting "Open New Document" in the Word program.2. I open an older (saved) Word document, by clicking on the saved file, not by using the "Open" function in Word.3. The New (empty) document disappears, only the older document is open. I must now open a new empty document to write in. What I want to happen:1. Open new document2. Open old document3. Both new and old document are open (2 windows).Other notes in no particular order:- Word has always operated like this. Just wondering if there is a way to stop it.- I am not using the "Open" function in Word to open the older file, I am opening the older file by double-clicking it in the File explorer. When I use the "Open" function in Word, it does the same (basically "closing" the new file in order to open the old one). - I tried searching through Word's settings but couldn't find anything that seemed to relate to this behavior.- As per regular Word behavior, the new document is auto-na... I am running XP and Word 2000 and Nortons. Word will crash if you leave the document open for a while (there is no specific time frame) and then select close (icon). The error - Microsoft Word for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. The details are: AppName: winword.exe
appver 9.0.0.3822
Modname: kernel32.dll
modvers: 5.1.26002180
offset 0001eb33

This has pretty much happened since I got this laptop. I have reformatted and reinstalled everything (due to another problem) and still have the same problem with word. I have used the same CD on other computers to install word and they do not have the same problem.

I use a variety of templates and plain documents in my work and can not pin point it to one template.

If you leave Word open with a document (no matter what size) and come back to it later this is when the problem happens. I started to get around it my saving first then closing, but this no longer works. The save completes and then I select Close and this is when it happens - you get the dreaded pause and then you hear the whirl of the computer and then you get the Microsoft Word for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. Firstly I could put up with it but is now just a nusiance.

I have two questions regarding documents created in Word 2007...

1) Can links be created within a Word document? For example, can I click on and item my table of contents and have the document jump to that particular section of the document?

2) Also, is there a way to make sections of the document hidden until the user clicks a specific word or graphic in the document?

I'd like to specify a particular instruction and include a "Show example" link that would make a detailed example appear for those who needed the extra help.

Thanks everyone!

Answer:Word 2007 - Links within a document? Hide/Show sections of a document?

If you created table of contents through References - Table of Contents, you can hold Ctrl and click on the item in that table, word will take you there. This feature is standard.

Also, to navigate inside document you can use bookmark option.
Insert bookmarks. Word 2010 Bookmarks
Then insert Hyperlink - in the window select second tab "Place in This Document" and choose your bookmark.

As for hiding parts of document, I do not think that is possible.
You can create that in HTML document with javascript, but not in Word document.

I have a user who when he opens Word documents that were originally created using one of 2 specific templates is told that they are locked and in use. If he just choses the read option he can use them as normal.

He is running Office 2007 on Vista.

This question sums it up and offers a perfectly good solution:

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office_Productivity/Office_Suites/MS_Office/Q_22680348.html?sfQueryTermInfo=1+lock+templat+word

My problem is that he has been happily creating hundreds of documents for months and really doesn't want to do this with each one. Does anyone have any idea how to perform one big super fix that will fix all the docs?

The templates were originally created in Office 97 I believe and have been upgraded a few times.

This issue only happens with Vista and not XP running Office 2007.

Another option is OpenOffice, which some people like, so that's worth taking a look at as well to see which one you prefer personally.

I have a client that's asking me for support in modifying scanned documents using the HP Imaging software.

They have an inkjet all-in-one that scans the documents beautifully, however, I cannot seem to find a few key options; then again I had only a few minutes to tinker with it until I had another appointment.

The main features that I'm looking for, are the ability to scan the document into .TIF format as they need to be able to upload the document into their company's imaging system that accepts only PDF and TIF format.

They also need the ability to make modifications to the document. Erasing certain lines and using a text-input tool to add new information.

Finally, the ability to combine multiple documents into one file would be very beneficial.

I've had great luck doing this with PaperPort combined with the Brother MFC units I use and support. I'm surprised at the inability to easily locate these functions in the HP suite.

Any recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated.

This might be kind of tricky.

We're trying to streamline our RFQ-to-Quote process, which currently utilizes a combination of digital forms and hand-written forms passed among several departments. My boss asked me to modify the RFQ form to save him some typing (because he has to retype all the information in the final Quote), and I--not understanding the complexity of the process--very stupidly told him that it could be done fairly simply using form fields and bookmarks. He's been kind enough to grant me a lot of leniency because for him anything would be better than the current situation, so as long as I can improve on what we use now, he'll be happy.

I thought about creating form templates for each of the departments, then as the original RFQ circulated from one department to the next subsequent forms would be appended to it to create a rolling document. I'm not too happy with the that idea; there's all sorts of room for user error. I thought about creating a single document template containing every department's form, but a) I don't want any single department to be able to modify information gathered during another department's process, and b) certain departments must generate a variable number of copies of their form.

I told my boss the best way to accomplish a secure and low-maintenance RFQ-to-Quote would be to create a stand-alone Quote Generator application, but we both agree the effort is not condusive to the timeframe by whic... Read more

Hi all.

The other day whilst in the throws of fixing another unrelated problem I came across a strange and annoying Word Document problem.

When I bought this word document up it present a very unusual icon. It was grayed out and part of the title contained a ~$ then the name of the document.

When I tried to open it, the word document only opened up to the gray page just before it should turn white displaying the text, and there it froze.

Nothing worked after that! The freeze was so bad that the only way to close the window was to turn the computer off at the tower.

After rebooting I tried it again 2 more times with the same problem freeze occurring in the Word document.

Today I again found another document that caused the same problem, this time the icon for that document was normal but right beside this icon was another malformed grayed out ~$(name) icon.

When I tried to open either of the 2 icons I got the same freezing up problem, just as before.

I tried a previously suggested step in that I opened "Word" and from there navigated to where the bad files were located.

In turn I only hi-lighted each, and at the bottom of that window clicked on the arrow for the drop down box.

I was advised that one of the presented options was to repair the file. No such option was present.

So there you have it. Any advice on this problem please?

Regards

Answer:[SOLVED] Word document freezes computer and document is corrupted

Hi all.

Just to advise that I am going to mark this topic as Solved......to a fashion so to speak.
I may resurrect it at a later stage if the problem re-presents it's self.

In a nut shell. I spent a lot of time today searching sites and performing tests including searches on my computer program.

I ascertained that all the aforementioned "defective " Word documents originated in the same folder. After performing several search functions with the criteria as ~$.doc no other such files were found on my computer, other that the already mentioned.

All tests suggested would not repair the said documents.

I have now deleted the offenders and I will monitor the situation. If I run into problems again I will re-post.

Thanks anyway.

On my previous computer with Windows 2000, I was able to make incremental backups of a Microsoft Word document while it was being created by me. The advantage of this was that if an "accident" happened and the document was lost or corrupted before it was completed or saved to a folder, the partially completed document could be retrieved from a special folder somewhere in C-drive. I was able to specify how often a new backup was created (ex.: every 3 minutes, ex.; every 10 minutes, etc.). It is possible that this special folder also contained backups of all previously saved Word documents, which were also being re-backed up every few minutes. -- I cannot find any reference to this on my new computer (Windows XP and Microsoft Word 2002) in the Windows search engine, or in the Word user interface "Help". I cannot remember how I found this feature on my previous (W~2000) computer. -- Thanks

Hi....
I'm using word 2010.
I have a Mailmerge document (actually a company letter with header and footer, used by a package called "Cash4Windows" [C4W]). This document usually has the recipients name and address etc. inserted by C4W.
The document is a template - "xxx.dotx".
What I want to do is strip out the Mailmerge fields and save the document as a normal Word 2010 document, 'cos the User wants to have a blank standard company document available.
I've spent a long time fiddling with the Header and Footer to get just what the User wanted, and I know i could just cut-n-paste the Header and Footer into a new document, then save it as "xxx.docx", but when I looked on various help sites the normal method in Word 2010 seems to be
on the ribbon tab
Select Mailings
Select "Start Mail Merge"
Select "Normal Word Document"
then save the Word document.
I've tried this and it has absolutely no effect, as when I close and reopen Word and select the previously saved document, I still get the "Opening the document will run the following SQL command" splash screen!
I've tried saving the "normalised" document with various different extensions, but nothing seems to get rid of the SQL.
I've also tried opening the VBA editor (Alt+F11) to see if I can find the SQL, thinking that if I can delete the SQL it might cause Word to avoid the prompt, but I can't even find the SQL!!!

I was working on a Word document that someone sent me by email in form of rar and saved the document. I now can't find the revised file and I have lost about 8 hours of work. Any ideas on where I can find this file? I looked in the email that was originally sent, but it is still the old file. I have also done searching on my computer with no luck. Help, I'm desperate!!! I have Word 2007. Please give me reply as soon as possible.

Answer:Cannot find the saved revised document in Word document

If you were only hitting "Save" and not "Save As" the document is likely, unfortunately, gone. You can try opening Word by itself and going through recent documents to see if it shows up. If you opened it directly from the email and the email was in Outlook, you might be able to find it in the Outlook Secure Temp Folder. To get to this folder, the easiest way is to send yourself a PDF file, open the PDF from the email then go to File | Properties and on the General tab (this is from memory, so I might be off a little bit) you'll find a location that you can click on. In this folder, you have a slight chance of finding the modified file. The only other option you have, that I can think of, would be digging through your temp folders hoping to find a .tmp or .doc file in there that has the content, but I give that about a .01% chance of happening. Good Luck!

Answer:When typing a word document my laptop keeps sending the document

Hello

I don?t know what you mean with laptop keeps sending the document but if you have this issue with office word or some other office application, try to check some forum where you can find discussion about similar theme.

I can not give you any precise answer but it is maybe because of office specific settings or you press accidentally some key on the keyboard and on this way interrupt symbols entering.

Hi,

I work at a small non-profit and we have updated two computers with new computers running Windows 7. We use MS Word 2003. I have checked all threads on forum related to this issue, but nothing seems to correct our problem. I would be grateful for any help.

Description of issue: With a Word document open, one should be able to click "File" > "Send To" > Mail Recipient As Attachment", or any of the other mail options, and have the email composition window of Thunderbird pop up. What happens is that Word is attempting to send the attachment via Windows Live Mail. The computer basically freezes. If you try and abort or get out of Word, and error pops up stating you can't close Word until the email has been sent. Finally, you have to force a shut down of the computer.

Internet Explorer shows Thunderbird as default email client. I have check all of the other obvious places for setting the default email client, but I can't seem to find a conflict anywhere on the computer showing Windows Live Email as default client.

As a side note, this employee was using Outlook Express as their email client prior to the computer upgrade and all setting were imported into Windows Live Mail, which was initially used. The employee did not like Windows Live Mail, so I installed Thunderbird. It is used as the default email client and the only issue has been with Word. Additionally, I know that the document could be sent from Windows Explorer by right-cli... Read more

Hello

I am wondering how to make an hyperlink, from a main document, to a sentence of a sub document that got included through {INCLUDETEXT \\....docx} in the main document?

I posted yesterday this question in another forum.

I do not know how long it will take to get a reply in the other forum. I post the link to the details also in this forum, in order to speed up the process of getting an insight about a posible approach or solution for this problem. I hope this does not violate any of this forum's rules.

Thanks in advance

I got a random bluescreen while working in microsoft word, something about a clock timer on a secondary processor. Is this going to keep happening?

Answer:Random BSOD in the middle of editing a word document

Recommendations:A 0x101 crash typically means hardware: either the processor or RAM. However, it can be due to a driver conflict, and in your case, that does look like a strong possibility. Run Driver Verifier using the following link for instructions.Driver Verifier (Windows XP/Vista/7/8)
Outdated and Problematic Drivers:You should update/replace/remove the following drivers. Any drivers that are known to cause BSODs, please remove the software or remove the drivers and then remove the device; steps to do so are given after the list of outdated drivers. If you have ASACPI.sys installed, make sure it is updated and not pre-2009; pre-2009 versions are known to cause BSODs:
nusb3hub.sys Thu Dec 9 21:50:35 2010 (4D01B19B)
NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (previous BSOD issues with 2010 version)

nusb3xhc.sys Thu Dec 9 21:50:35 2010 (4D01B19B)
NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (previous BSOD issues with 2010 version)

To update drivers, make sure to download the drivers from the manufacturer and not using 3rd party programs. Your drivers should be found from your motherboard support site (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) or your vendor support site (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, etc.) first. If you have devices you bought yourself, the drivers for those devices need to be downloaded from the manufacturer support sit... Read more
