Colour Problems With WMV's

Question: Colour Problems With WMV's

Hi all.
I've been having some problems playing some of my WMV files. When I try watching them the colours are all messed up. Most of the screen is bright green with the rest of the objects appearing in various other bright primary colours. It doesn't matter which of my players I use including VLC.
Some of my vids are ok and I can get the problem ones to work if I re-encode them with WMM but it also happens when I try to watch streamed WMV's including HD and these I can't re-encode.
I've downloaded K-lite codec pack but I'm not too sure which of the codecs to use and I've read that just installing all of them can cause more problems than they solve.
Thanks in advance guys.

Preferred Solution: Colour Problems With WMV's

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:Colour Problems

Have you been able to change the screen settings on the monitor itself, how old is it? When my monitor did that it died shortly afterwards. (R.I.P) I would find that it would be fine for a few hours and then go blue for long periods of time.Could anyone have changed the monitor settings without you realising?

Question: colour problems

The other day I inadvertently spilled a cup of coffee while at the computer. The only items that the coffee spilled on was the underside of the printer( which was not turned on at the time) and the cordless mouse. Since this happened, the colour on my monitor is all wonky. Everything seems to have changed colour slightly and any lettering is now a combination of green, purple, red, and blue although predominently green and red interspersed with the black. Since the liquid did not spill on the computer, monitor or keyboard I am wondering if this problem just co-incidentally happened after the incident although I find that hard to believe. Is there any way to fix this myself or will I need to take all the components in to be cleaned or dryed or??

Answer:colour problems

Hi lloydy, and welcome to TSG.

Exactly what what kind of cable (VGA, DVI, HDMI, etc.) are you using for the connection? Do you have a way of testing the cable, say by temporarily using it to replace a known good cable used for some other connection?

Question: colour problems

I run a Windows 98 SE computer with 10GB hard disc and 192 MB RAM. Recently, I had a bad time installing the Asus External CD-RW. I have already uninstalled then re-installed it and did manage to copy my latest pictures. They appeared on the CD as I expected but then, each time I tried to do anything with them the computer grumbled and crashed or froze. I persevered over several days and did get something going (using the CD drive, chiefly) but then everything went haywire and I couldn?t open any of them. Finally, all the icons changed one at a time and I watched as they changed again and 3 letters appeared on the icons, one by one. I can?t recall the letters but they did indicate that they were not going to be opened by me or anyone else now or ever! What have I done wrong? The computer was not at all happy and made complaining noises, as did I. I tried again this morning and although I was able to put them on the screen after a lot of effort, the computer didn?t like it. I tried other CDs and they were OK. So I?ve wiped the disc. Maybe it?s a duff disc. Now there are several things wrong with the computer; the colours are not right. The first thing that came up when I clicked OE was a blue notice (before the OE and Dialup window appeared.) Now it?s white and the colours in photos are weird. I?ve rebooted a couple of times and there?s no change. I?ve checked the display and it shows 256 colours. Is there anything I can do to rectify it?Any suggestions will be welcome.Silver... Read more

Answer:colour problems

You don't mention the software that you used to try to work on your images, and it would help to know that.Your display settings have certainly gone AWOL, and the first thing to do is to reset them. As you may know, you do that by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting 'properties' from the menu that appears. Click on the 'settings' tab (I'm working blind here, because I'm running WindowsXP) or whatever in Win98 that shows you two sliders - one with the resolution, and one with the colour bit depth. Move the resolution slider until it reads 1024x768, and then see if you can move the colour bit setting until it shows '16 bit'.If that works you should now be seeing a better display. If it doesn't work you may have a corrupted or missing graphics card driver, or monitor driver, or both, and we'll deal with that if it crops up.I'm puzzled - and a tad concerned - over these 'complaining noises' that you say your machine is making. Can you describe them in greater detail, and tell us precisely at what point in the proceedings they happen?

Question: Colour Problems

I have a compaq prosignia which has an Abit Motherboard BL30G with a P4 1.6 cpu.

Some of the icons have a pinkish tinge in the background, in particular the Control Panel ones. The desktop icons are ok and almost all the other ones.

I think it may be the motherboard on the way out?

I updated the Video card to a NVIDIA GEFORCE 2 64 MEG AGP CARD, changed monitors and I still have the problem.

The system has 384 megs sd ram, a 20 gig hdd.

The system has 2 x 128 PC133 and 1 x PC100

Question: Colour Problems...

Hi, My Monitors missing a whole range of Colours, Its like one of the Colour guns is not working.
I dont think its the Monitor as when it starts up the wee box that mentions the Screen resolution has all its Colours. It started after I moved the PC and I bent some of the Pins in the Monitor to PC cable. I replaced it with a new cable but to no avail.
Now I have no Greens or Yellows, only reds and Blues.
Any Ideas what else it Might be, The Graphics card was removed ages ago and as far as I nkow its been running fine just on its built in graphics...Until now that is.
I have fiddled with every concievable colour control but it dont help any.
Im On Microsoft Vista 32 bits on a 4 year old Median PC, The Monitors a Proview.
Any Advice or help would be much appreciated...Blood.

Question: colour problems

after trying to load a-o-l,8 i had to reboot pc to origanal settings now i find i can only get the basic colours and cannot alter graphic size, ive tried going to settings and altering them but no good i know monitor can take the changes as had it in before but cannot remember how to do it---do i need to re-install win 98?

Answer:colour problems

Do not re-install W98 yet.The probability is that you have somehow "lost" the display drivers.Try device manager in Control Panel > System.........click on the Display adapter, and properties, and then select driver and update driver. At this point you should be able to install your video card driver over again.

Question: Colour problems

Howdo. Basically fairly new to computing so don't all laugh at once!
Nipped out for a few minutes yesterday and when I returned I found my 13 old telling me my screen had turned blue! Nothing to do with her!!! It appears I've no reds on screen. All blues, greens and yellows. When pc is knocked off the message that tells me its off does show the colour red so that would tell me it's not my monitor. Right? So guys, what's the solution? (Still recovering from Crimbo so don't tell me its gonna be expensive!)

Hi there gurus.
My pc doesn?t show certain colour objects in Publisher 2007 and some on-line sites. Overall, the screen colour is very good. I know the fault is localised, because when I switch to Print Preview in Publisher it looks fine and I can see all the object colours. (I only lose the colour with objects, not text)
Also, when I send a copy of a Publisher page to my partner who is on the same PC, it looks fine on her screen.
I?ve tried going to Install/uninstall programs and run the Repair, but to no avail. The guys in my computer shop are clueless without seeing it. Anyone who can help solve this for me is a gem.
Cheers!
David

Hi, I have a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 840C and Windows XP on PC.The black works perfectly, but when there are colours to be printed does not work, only pink/red/ brownish colours are printed instead of real colours that should be printed. HELP

Answer:colour problems with printer

Sounds like the Cyans empty or blocked. Try taking the cartridge out and wiping the printhead with a damp tissue. You could also try tapping the cartridge gently on a hard surface. Best to put some paper down before trying this as finding the balance between sufficient and excessive force in the tapping can be messy. If that doesn't work, it may need a new cartridge.

Printer not printing colours as shown on photos on screen,(all blue & pink)
i am using Windows XP.

Answer:printer colour problems

All printers will print a test pattern. From that you can determine which colors aren’t printing properly. If there is ink in the cartridge for that color run a cleaning and deep cleaning if necessary. If possible just clean the affected colors.

If the cleaning doesn’t work:
HP and Lexmark give you new heads with a new cartridge.
You can remove the heads from most Canons. Soak them head down in ammonia or hot water.
If you can’t get an Epson running with cleaning cycles and you are sure there is ink in all the tanks the cheapest option is probably a new printer.

Hello there! (I'm new! )

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. When comparing my LCD monitors, I notice that one of them isn't displaying colours properly.

An example: This image (from wikipedia) http://upload.wikimedia.org/fundraising/2007/people-meter-ltr.png is of some cute cartoon people. I can't see the grey people at all on my monitor (the colours are quite close to white).

Also, everything that's supposed to be darker grey is a light green colour... which to me seems like I should turn the contrast down. This of course makes the screen seem darker, but not solving the green-ness problem. Hmm.

So I'm rather confused! I'm measuring this against my good monitor and there's a big difference.

Both monitors are running off the same graphics card and are identical models.

Does anyone have a guess at what the problem might be?

Cheers I'm off to the web development board now... much less confusing than hardware! haha.

Chris

Hi there - my dear lady wife has seemingly crippled our old PC. Unfortunately she can't remember how or what she did to it. We now only have a display in 16 colours - looks and feels like "safe mode" and I can't find any way of changing it. There are apparently options for 256 colours and High Colour (16 bit) as well but I can't get it to change to these. Also the screen area seems stuck on 640 x 480 pixels. We're running Win 98 SE.

Answer:Display Colour problems

Not sure about Win 98 (that was released shortly after the quill pen and vellum, wasn't it?).But in XP you would go to Control Panel; Display; Settings. There are then options to alter the screen resolution and colour quality.

Well I suppose it is a BIT like the usual problems. With the colour all weird etc.

I know I've solved it before, telling people to go download VLC and Winamp, etc...

And it's working for me, EXCEPT:

When I start the system, the colour is weird. I have to go to the nVidia control panel to fix it. All i have to do is open the CP, and not change anything, just click cancel.

It's a bit annoying, is there any way to fix this? Especially in Windows Media Player, I have to do that every time I open it even in the same computer session. Weird.

I am having serious problems adding new 256 colour icons into my VB6 application. When the program is compiled, the icon quality reverts back to 16 colour and looks terrible. I need to get this sorted but NO ONE has any ideas! Can ANYONE help..?? Pleeeese!

256 should be fine in Visual BASIC... I use the "XP 16.8 Mil 32bit Colour" icons. I use a programme called ResHack which can replace resources when you've compiled your app. So you can add any type of icon you like

Hello everyone,I just set up my new rig (not really gaming) and after installing w7 i saw that running on the chipset , it does some weird red dots on the screen sometimes (not while loading windows)
The story goes on and installed my Gainward GT630 driver ,and it seem'd that the Windows problem is solved , but it still gets the weird red dots and blue stripes on browsers..
So my question is is the chipset the fault for this? NOTE:It never does stripes in loading windows or bios just in browsers and videos on youtube, havent tried out yet the games.
Also in windows it shows my Athlon ii X4 641 having 4 cores ,and in PC Wizard it showes 1 core only.

Answer:Windows 7 colour problems

Hi, The fact you can take a screen grab of the issue means it is not a monitor problem so that can be ruled out.
Since this is a new build do you have all the latest motherboard chipset drivers and codecs? Get the latest video card drivers here Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers. Failing that it looks like the video card is bad or your power supply is underrated for the card.
Everyone on here is going to ask you to fill in the exact details of your rig to assist in troubleshooting further.

We are using a Konica Minolta 5430 DL printer which has suddenly started to print all our colour documents with a greeny/yellow tint. Our IT support contractor thinks it could be a fault with the toner cartridge pack. As these cost 300+, its an expensive way to find out if what he says is true. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Answer:Colour printer problems

Color shifts in printing are almost always due to running out of or lack of dispensing of one or more colors from the source. The only way I know of to determine for sure without actually purchasing more toner of the missing color is simply to take the printer to a repair center.

I don't work on printers; I usually just send those customers to a printer repair facility. Perhaps someone with some printer repair experience will happen along with more help.

I have a Canon MP780 printer seems to be working OK but when coloured text is printed it is coming out a different shade to the one on the office document on the screen. Have been working with quite a bold blue but it is coming out much greyer and more muted. I have tried on several different types of inkjet paper and colours do seem to be coming out 'wishy-washy' on them all. Has anyone else experienced this or anything like it. I only use genuine Canon cartridges and am not really sure when the problem started. Have tried all the things that might be causing a problem - print head alignment, cleaned the heads, checked printer settings, etc. Can anyone help me with this?

getting color to replicate as you see it on paper is very hard. but you can try cleaning the heads in the printer options or maybe try changing the color cartridge.

I just bought a new computer and a new monitor.
Using Geforce 8880 GTS graphics card, LG L226WTQ-BF monitor. Windows Vista home premium.
New DVI cable and power cable.

The monitor works fine for 30min or so, drivers everything are installed properly. After that, the colors become messed up. Half the task bar will be grey lines, desktop background image will seem to have satuation 100%. Restarting computer wont help.
Normally when I start up my computer, its a black background with white wordings on the boot screen. But now, its greyish-with lines of light blue with white wordings with cyan shadows. ( something like that, its hard to describe ).

I connected my old CRT monitor and it worked fine. So i thought it was the monitor problem, i brought it back to the shop. Surprisingly, it worked fine there. He told me it might be cable problem, so i bought a new 1 and went home.
At home, i connected it back and I thought it was working normally again. Few hours later, the problem came back, exactly the same situation.

Can anyone out there help me :cry:cry ...

What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with compatible inks?

I'm happy to invest in buying a colour laser: but I can't find any refills for lasers
At least they don't seem to be widely available

So, my choice is: colour laser + genuine inks or colour inkjet + compatible inks

From what I know, side by side: laser's are cheaper
But, how about when compared to genuine laser ink to compatible colour inkjet inks?

I should stress that for me needs, I am not overly concerned if using compatibles doesn't give me perfect results - just close as possible is fine for me

What's more important probably is speed of print at highest quality

ANY feedback would be great

Thanks

Answer:What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with ink compatibles?

Finding Compatible Remanufactured Color Toner cartridges can be dicey. While they may be available, the problem may end up being the company tht does the remanufaturing. It is also dependant upon the model printer you get. I have noticed that the savings on my Black Canon X-25 toner cartridge is only about $12 lower than the cost of a Factory original cartridge. There are sites that I would save up to $30 per cartridge, but part of this is eaten up by the shipping charges. For my toner cartridge, I am about 1/2 mile from the store that does nothing but ink and toner refill services, and their garauntee thier cartridges 100%. In 3 years I have only had to return one cartridge and it was an HP #17 Color cartridge.

Now per page printing cost on a laser is much cheaper than on an inkjet. Though the printer cost itself is usually much higher for a Laser. Personally I use the laser much more than than my Inkjet, but I do use the inkjet for all color printing. But then 95% of my printing is monochrome text.

I've compared all the settings on my spare PC to my main PC using the Advanced settings on the appearance tab of the display properties and changed them all to be the same but that hasn't fixed the problem. I just did a repair install of XP Home Edition SP2, but it didn't help. The computer keeps giving me "This system has recovered from a serious error" message whenever I restart (see images below).

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/e253b
http://www.freeimagehosting.net/1c69b
http://www.freeimagehosting.net/17a08

There is also a problem with the colour. The colours are fine before the log-in screen (the XP logo during loading is fine) but after the log-in screen they are messed up (see image below). I clicked a pop-up bubble form the system tray asking me to fix the colour and resolution, but it didn't do anything.

Any help is appreciated! :D

I've just hooked up a second crt monitor to my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and it works fine except for the fact the at it seems to be displaying purple more than any of the other colours. This isn't just in Windows it happens when booting up in Dos as well. Anyone know a fix.

I'll explain a bit more. When the monitors are connected to the just VGA out they both display completely correctly but when either one of them uses the DVI-VGA adaptor on the DVI Output Connection that game with the ATI card they display in this werid kinda of purple colour that takes over the white in the display.

I have noticed in the diagram that the DVI-VGA out might only be made for anagloue flat panel monitors but I think it would be pretty stupid to stop people using dual CRT monitors.

The two monitors are Philps 107x2 Flat panel
The second is the SyncMaster 753DFX.

Any help would be fantastic.

Answer:Dual CRT monitor colour problems

I have an Nvidia card so i am unsure of this exactly, but you should have an adjustment somewhere in your settings for the card to adjust the individual colors(examples, lowering the amount of purple coming out of the DVI-VGA port)

Just taken delivery of a new xps 15 9560 with the 4k UHD screen. The screen has inconsistent colour banding across it. On the left is a magenta hue and the right cyan hue.
If I display a grey scale across the screen there are pink band of colour in the grey so not a smooth graduation.
I'm a photographer so this was noticeable straight away.
I spoke to Dell support who didn't seem to be bothered to provide any service and effectively said this is normal.
Only had the laptop a few days so considering returning for refund.
Is this normal?

Hi, I'm using the Aerolite theme with Aeroglass, and want a consistent colour for the borders. So I set accent colour from background 'off' and choose the colour. Fine so far.

Now that's ok if I log off and on.

But if I sleep or hibernate (not personally ) and then resume, the colour and setting are lost.

I noticed that on resuming, the border colour is present until the 'Please wait' screen appears, after which these settings are lost.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello,

I have a Sony Cybershot 3.2 Megapixels camera which works really well.

My problem is that when I go to print photos, my printer prints out weird colours - very much like sepia but with some other colours here and there. The colour bears no resemblance to the original!

Is this a matter of changing settings somewhere or do I need to install a different driver. I am now operating off XP and the printer (Epson Stylus Photo 700) has been around since the old Windows 98 days.

I don't know very much about these things so I'm hoping for some help from your good selves ( in layman's terms wherever poss please).

Thanks in anticipation

My guess would be that some of your color heads are clogged. Run a couple cleaning cycles. Print a test page and check to see whether all of the colors are printing completely.

Answer:Colour print problems - Epson Stylus 950

I am not familiar with the Epson Photo printers, mine is a Stylus C80, but I also had serious colour problems. Some photos matched perfectly, whilst others with different predominant colours were way off. On my Printer Driver there is a check box for digital camera correction. In my case I solved the problems by experimenting with different options for Photoenhance Mode, which has different settings for people, nature, standard, and sepia. Hello.

I seriously need help with my PC. I've reinstalled Windows XP and Service Pack 2, and I can't chnge the Screen resolution or the colour quality. It sucks. The resolution stays at 800x600, the lowest possible, and the colour quality stays at 8 bit. I think I have a ATI 128 MB DDR Radeon 9800 Pro. I dunno whether thats a driver or what. And I also don't know my graphics card, or whether that will help at all.

I would swear at this point but I'm too young.

Oh but I'll use this instead

Has anyone got any help for me that I can understand. I'm 14 but I still can understand most computer talk.

Anyway thanks very much for reading all this crap and please try not to point out all my spelling mistakes.

Answer:[resolved]Help with resolution and colour and colour quality??.. anyone??

Heya, welcome to the forums

Okay, it has to do with your drivers. Go to ATI's website and find your driver.

Here's the link

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html

Please download and install both the Control Center as well as the Display driver. Then restart your computer and try to change the resolution.

Cheers!

Hi Allhope someone more knowledgable can advise - I recently purchased a Lexmark x500n multifunction colour laser printer - I had a big black print job to do excel and word - 2000 pages - i was shocked to see that - ok the black starter cartridge of 2500 pages was nearly empty- fair enough - but all three colour cartridges (1500 page size) were nearly all empty too - I hadn't done any colour printing but when i contacted the manuf they advised that the printer uses colour also to print black!! - it's getting returned to them - but do do all colour lasers do this - obviously this quadruples the costs of printing and has put my costing out of the window!! - any advice would be great - it's a network colour printer, with copier and scanner that I need - a fax would be great but not essential.thanks in advanceTrifly

Answer:COLOUR LASER - PRINTING BLACK USING COLOUR!!

That would pee me off no end. How in God's name can it use colour to create black when there's a black cartridge in there? A cheapo mono laser seems to be your ideal tool. I know nothing about colour laser printers, but is there an option anywhere in the settings to print using only the black cartridge? Does the printer still work if you take out the colour cartridge while printing only black text documents?

It's not a problem, it's just that you've reached the limit to what the Intel video chipset can do.

I like using "windguru" for forecasting the weather. Based in the Czech Republic, they're usually spot on which is more than I can say for the local effort.

Until recently I used Netscape 7.2 and subsequent to that Opera vers 11. These both colour coded the wind speeds and gusts and the expected temperatures; you know ranging from blue for cold to red for hot. For various reasons I have had to make use of IE-8. I can't get anything in colour. Temperatures and wind speeds are just black numerals on a white background. I've searched through IE's options but can't find any tweak to resolve this. The URL is www.windguru.cz and I'm running XP home. Can anyone help?

Answer:Tv out Has No Colour

It could be a PAL/NTSC setting somewhere. Some laptops have a BIOS setting for TVout. If it's set for NTSC and the TV is set for PAL, or vice versa, you will get video issues. I had a an old DVD player that was 'stuck' on NTSC only. When I tried to play a PAL movie in it, it would play in black and white. Check the back of the TV or wherever all the control switches are (or just read the manual). Check the PC BIOS and the TVout settings if using separate video hardware/software....

Good luck!

Hi,

I know some basic stuff about computers, but I don't know how to fix this problem.

I have Windows XP. Firstly, the computer started running slower than usual for a while (a few weeks), then one day when I started the computer up, a screen came up in the DOS bit at the start asking me what mode I wanted to start in as there was a problem. I selected the option (and Im paraphrasing here) 'The last good configuration' as it seemed best. From then on, the colour went to 4 bit, and an 800x600 resolution. I can't change these settings as I normally would, as there are no other options available. I can use the computer fairly normally, except the awful colour and res. However, if the screensaver comes on, and I re-activate the screen, it will be totally messed up - the edges puffed out like a pincushion setting, black and white, lines travelling down the screen and flickering, sometimes going totally black then coming back again.

My housemate started the computer up and somehow got the original DOS screen back asking which mode to start in - he selected 'safe mode' and the colour was then good - except the internet then wouldn't connect. (I have broadband so it's normally automatic - I don't know how to connect it manually)

This is my brother's computer, so I don't know a lot about it - programs and so on - he's un-contactable at the moment and will be for a couple of months... I'd greatly appreciate any he... Read more

A bit of a strange request, but after searching everywhere that I can think of for hours, I can't seem to find a solution.

I am a teacher, and several of my pupils have a problem reading anything on a white background. I can often change the colour of backgrounds, but there are certain applications where it's not possible.

So, rather than ask how to remove a colour cast from my monitor, I'd like to be able to overlay a blue or pink colour cast on my entire monitor - can anybody tell me about any software which has this functionality? I'd like it to be configurable and easily 'turn off and onable.'

Alternatively - any easy to use colour profile management tools for windows xp? The microsoft color management control panel plugin doesn't seem to make it possible to achieve what I want.

Many thanks,
Mike

I am working on a TAFE project. The word document I have created has the page coloured, text and photos on it but when I print the page out the background colour will not print, everything else does. Can anyone out there help me with this problem.

Thanks Heaps,

I'm wondering if it's a problem with your printer or printer drivers instead of MS Word.

What version of Word are you using? Usually Under "Help" "About Microsoft Word" or if it's MS Word 2007 you probably won't find that menu

Question: Colour Problem

I've got a samsung DVD rom. I'm running XP Home SP1. I have a couple of players but none of them run the dvds with the correct colours.

If you've ever looked at negatives, yellow is opposite to blue. This is what is happening on my players. None of them have an adjustment for colour.

I've checked that the drivers for the DVD are correct and I've also checked the drivers for my graphics card they are correct.

I'm a bit stuck, can anyone help?

Kev

Answer:Colour Problem

VLC has an option to invert video colors. Under Settings, check Extended GUI. In the Video tab, check Image inversion

Hi there - I'm trying to print out a document using colour separation in Publisher and or Serif Pageplus...I can print in colour normally, but when I try to print to Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black all I get is black and white printouts of varying magnitide. Only the composite looks and prints out in colour. Is this what I should be expecting?

Answer:Colour Separation (again)

What you are getting are the instructions for colour separation printing machines - as used by larger scale commercial printers. These printers operate by inking the sheet in three (or four) separate processes each process using a different colour - CYM(K). Traditionally, these separations were for preparing silk screens and there was no requirement for colour information within the file. So, if you are trying to print these separations on a normal SOHO printer, there is no instruction in the files for them to be printed in any other colour than black. On a computer controlled colour spearation printer, the instruction for the separation print normally readable only with specific software.Do you have a good reason to print in colour separation? If not, I would leave well alone because without appropriate equipment i.e. at least a colour separation printer, you could end up in a real mess and very confused.
