Motherboard support CD does not support your operating system

Question: Motherboard support CD does not support your operating system

Some how my old friend managed to upgrade my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 with that chipset driver CD I gave him. I don't know how he did it. I would ask him but he moved to Germany. Anyway I've heard you can run the setup with Windwos Vista compatiblity mode but I don't know if it is safe. Anyone know?

Preferred Solution: Motherboard support CD does not support your operating system

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Motherboard support CD does not support your operating system

Download the drivers from the manufacturers website. The driver CD is likely outdated anyway.

When MS ceases to support an operating system are you then able to use that disk in another or even other machine/s legally?
Further to this would you still have to go through the 30 days to 'Activate'?

Answer:When MS ceases to support an operating system

in another or even other machine/s legally?
only if corporate license for more than one machine
retail version can swap between machines as long as only on one machine at a time
OEM version dies with machine
MS no longer supporting means basically they will no longer do updates and eventually remove ll reference from the knowledge base (try finding much info for 3.1 or 95)

Hello,

I am a new member seeking help removing a Trojan virus on my computer. The virus pops-up through Windows Defender and is called "TrojanDownloader:Win32/Renos.IO". I visited the post "New Instructions for Trojan/Spyware Removal Help" to begin the process of posting my logs to get help removing the virus. However, when I downloaded the tool "DDS" and ran the application, I received an error message saying the DDS tool is not compatible with my operating system. Obviously, I cannot continue the process listed in the aforementioned thread (which is now closed)...could someone help me in finding another tool besides DDS which I can run to post my logs in this forum?

Thanks for your help!

PS: My operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1

What do I have to edit so Windows Support correctly reads my operating system as being Windows 7 Pro, instead of incorrectly thinking it is still Windows XP? There is no old OS listed in the boot area. In environmental background I changed the OS to Windows_NT_6.1 instead of what it was previously (Windows_NT), and that didn't change anything pertaining to this question.

I have been having terrible problems with system instability, flash and java crashes, windows 7 hangs, etc., and if there is someplace my computer is getting confused over which OS it has, would that explain anything?

I recently tried to do the one key recovery feature for the first time today. I went to restore the back up from factory init, but it have me an error within the first couple seconds. After the error it have me two options, turn off out reboot. I chose to reboot, when I tried it said it could not load windows. My entire operating system is now corrupted. Hi,

I received a notification via Tempro that a BIOS upgrade was available. I downloaded the ZIP file (bios-20120209125153.zip), extracted the package (BIOS360_EC140_WIN.exe) and ran it according to the instructions.

The package runs, gives the "Extracting files..." progress bar then displays a dialogue entitled "TOSHIBA BIOS Package Ver.4.1.2" that says: "This BIOS package does not support this operating system."

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Satellite 830R-143 with the short part no. PT32LE

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Answer:Satellite R830-143 - BIOS update does not support this operating system

Hi

Do you have any problems with notebook?
If not then why you want to do the BIOS? Just because new BIOS was released?
I would not change anything if my notebook would run properly.

However, the BIOS update requires the VAP (value added package).
So be sure that this VAP is installed properly. If not, update this.

I bought TPS230U in may2013, and one monthe ago, the laptop just turned off by itself and wont turn on anymore. I had tried troubleshoop refresh and resetting options but it doesnt work.
My warranty certificate is still valid for itnernational support (now I live in  Brazil), so that, I called Brazil“s support (My laptop ID is: Type 3347 2GU S/N xxxxxxx 13/02.
At the first time I contacted by phone, the attendant asked me to (once again) turn off the laptop  and call back again. Well, I did it, adn (of course) it didnt work. So I called once again. The second the new clerk said I should buy a cd or dvd ( which could not be via USB stick ) , download from other computer and copy  an image file  that lenovo would understand the problem . I explained that I had not cd to record that moment. But he was very rude, and told me that it the  support goes to my house and concludes that there is a software problem and not hardwa, I was supposed to pay for the visit. So, I went to a store and bought a recordable CD , recorded the ISO file and got home to insert it into the laptop and....for my surprise,  my laptop doenst have any  entry for CD ! I feel that lenovo has been really disrespectfull with me and all I want is to have a simple support to my laptop, but I still couldnt have. Pleaase let me know how can I solve this problem before my waranty term expires!!!

I have a T430s laptop and it is less than 6 months old. It starting getting blue screens within a month of purchasing it. Technical support has been helpless in trying to fix the laptop. First, tech support told me to turn update my computer daily. Then another tech support employee told me to turn OFF my auto updates. This did nothing and over a few weeks the blue screens progressively got worse. Next, tech support told me to run a diagnostic on my computer which turned up nothing. Then, they tried giving me recovery discs and a new hard drive. After that failed they took it in to replace the system board which made the blue screens worse. Then they sent me MORE recovery CDs to try to fix the problem and that also made the blue screens worse. I called tech support after this and they said they would send in a request for a replacement laptop. I was told I would hear from someone in a couple days. FIVE days later I got a called from someone asking if I wanted a replacement and I said yes. Then I was told I had to wait two more business days to get contacted about it. Another 3-4 business days later, someone called me to tell me that they would NOT be replacing the laptop despite the fact tech support could not fix the laptop. After calling tech support once again, I was told that they wanted me to send in my laptop again for up to 7 business days! This is completely unacceptable. I have had problems with this laptop almost the entire time I have owned it and no one knows... Read more

I keep receiving calls from fake MICROSOFT Tech support with various telephone numbers. Strange, they do not show up in my phone on line logs. They wanted me to go to FASTSUPPORT\763721586 ( do not use  these numbers). It is a company  called FASTSUPPORT.com. they also give you a complaint department where you can enter the number that you feel is causing you problems, the number of the LOGMEINRESCUE type remote access code. of course it is clear to them that you are suspicious and they will get rid of the  phone operator who didn't succeed. I have just sent a thinkpad back for repair for the first time in over 20 years of owning  Thinkpad.  I have had 8 thinkpad  series laptops in my time as well as a few desktops and now lenovo phones. I am absolutely horrified with the diabolical Thinkpad support. This is meant to be business level support. I feel like I am phoning up Curry's.  Laptop sent back with hard disk in it and I am being told now that it "turned up without a hard disk in it". Now undercurrent of me lying. Original problem had not been assessed and I still don't have my laptop back after 3 weeks. Customer service agents just tell you anything they want to get you off the phone. I suppose all things come to an end but my loyalty to the Thinkpad brand is probably over now.  I am sure I am not the first. Has anyone else come across this?

I thought that all modern BIOS included support for the on boot function "F11 - Invoke Boot Sequence Menu".

I am now told that this is not the case and that many new motherboards do not support the F11 on boot option. In addition I have also been advised that some current BIOS versions have no on boot option facility at all and that the only way to change the boot sequence is to actually change the settings in the BIOS.

Can any Forum member confirm (or not) that the above is in fact true.

I was going to upgrade some RAM, and read in http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=82101 that Everest could show how much RAM the motherboard can support, but I have looked all over Everest's screens and can't find something like that. It says the motherboard has an Intel Triton 82430HX chipset, and lists the RAM slots, but I still don't know how much of an upgrade it can stand. If I upgrade too much, would anything worse happen than either failure to recognize all the memory or bad boot until I revert to the old sticks? :confused

According to this page (about 1/4 of the way down):

the chipset supports only 512mb of dram.

I think its time to put some money together for a new pc, that page was written in 1997, windows 95 was still king.

I have an INTEL D945GCNL motherboard.there are two slots for RAM.Currently 1Gb DDR2 ram is installed in slot A.
i wish to upgrade the memory to 3gb.i recently bought a single chip of 2gb ddr2.
but the intel website says maximum supported ram for the mobo is 2gb.
when i inserted the ram the OS detected it.(got both vista & xp).
there wasn't a considerable increase in performance though.(gaming etc.)
the new chip speed is 800. first chip has a speed of 667.
there might be a problem with dual channel feature also.
is 3gb possible on this board?
shall i continue using the new chip along with the old one or shall i return the 2gb chip and get a 1gb and settle for a total of 2gb ?

Answer:Motherboard RAM support

From what i have read, that motherboard will only support 2gig of ram.
What has happened is by mixing the two speeds of ram, the system is running at the lower speed.
So your best bet will be to remove the 1gig stick and only use the 2gig stick.

With that board, 4GB...

To get all kinds of info about your board, use AIDA32 - www.aida32.hu (its free).

80GB drive will work fine on the board... but what Windows version do you have?

512mb should be enough... PC-133 type.

I'm going to be using this mobo and was wondering if it will support this CPU? I'm pretty sure it does as it says that it can support Pentium 4 processors but it doesn't really say anything about supporting Pentium D processors (dual core).

CPU - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/93109

Mobo - http://www.redstore.com/fx/prc_gen.php?genre=PC&cat=MOT&subcat=mot&subcat2=lga775 (ASROCK Mobo, 4th down the list)

Answer:Will This Motherboard Support This CPU?

Please see this link for the CPU support list of this motherboard. There are NO Pentium Ds on this list.

Even if there were, I would advise against this! Most motherboards that support Dual-core processors have both cores using the same bus, which limits the benefits you can see from a dual core. Therefore, you have to be very careful in your motherboard purchase, especially on a good deal.

Also, the Pentium D is just that; a pentium processor. It has the same limitations as a single core (power consumption; heat generation) pentium processor. You'd see much better performance, as well as a lower total cost of ownership for a Core2Duo processor, I believe..

Memory Support list is here:http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-P55A-UD3P-rev-10#support-docMost 1600Mhz DDR3 should be fine with this. If you want to go with faster than 1600Mhz RAM, then i would stick to the list they provided. When it comes to RAM if you stick with a good quality name brand and go with 1600Mhz I feel you would be ok. The faster RAM than 1600Mhz I would definitely stick to the support list for.

I was just wondering.... does any motherboard support SLI, Athlon 64 X2 (or whatever it is called), and DDR2 on the same board?

Also if you know any good websites for searching new computer hardware by catagory, that would be great!

Thanks,
Wirercx

Answer:Will any motherboard out there support this?

Athlons don't suport DDR2, so no.

Any socket 939 board will support the X2, but a BIOS flash may be required.

MSI Z170-A PRO LGA 1151 Intel Z170 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com

Disclaimer, I have not bought this mobo yet, but I will next month.

I'm building a new PC that will (hopefully) be able to run the latest games at 60 fps using high/max settings. In anticipation, I bought an install disk for Win 7 professional (64 bit). The mobo I was originally going to get ended up having numerous reviews that said it did not work with Win 7, at least, not without jumping through numerous hoops first. Even then though, it seemed like there was only a small chance of things working the way you want.

So, I looked for another one and found the one that's in the link at the top. I've read up and seen a few reviews about it working with Win 7/8/10 no problem, but I can't be 100% sure.

If this mobo doesn't support Win 7 out of the box, can you recommend me a modern one that will? Here's what the other parts of the build will be like, I need a mobo that can support these:

Intel Core i5-6500, MSI GeForce GTX 970, Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Black) - System Build - PCPartPicker

I recently purhcased a computer which was at one point used as a server comp. Here asre the specs : P4 3.00 GHz with HT, 2 GB PC 2700 RAM, 80 GB SCSI 15K rpm HD and it's in a butt ugly server case. Anywho, I checked the comp specs and realized that there is currently no video card however there are 2 PCI-E slots. I was just wondering, If there are 2 PCI-E slots, does that give me the ability to get 2 SLI compatible video cards? Because on the specs list, it said nothing about SLI, however there are 2 slots...

Thanks.

I have an ECS 741GX-M motherboard and I found a used Athlon XP 2600+ that I was thinking about buying, but I just want to be absolutely certain this CPU will work on my motherboard before I purchase the chip. The ECS website - http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Produc...0&LanID=9&DetailID=422&DetailName=CPU Support lists the Athlon XP 2600+ as supported, but there are 3 different versions of this chip as far as I can tell. The chip I'm looking at is the XP 2600+ with the Barton core, a slightly lower clock speed, 333MHz FSB, and the 512K cache - but this particular version is not listed on the website above, only the two versions with the 256K cache are listed. I would expect this chip to work, but I just want to be certain. Can anyone tell me for certain whether this CPU will work on my motherboard or not? Thanks.

Answer:Will my motherboard support this CPU?

They probabkly left it off then list, but the list does have other 333Mhz FSB Barton's listed so I see no reason why this one wouldn't work.

We are Dell resellers and had placed an order for 43 Laptops - Dell Latitude 3560 with Dell on 13th June, 2016. We delivered them to our customer on Friday 17th June, 2016. On Monday 20th June we discovered that all the Laptops are faulty and are not functioning properly. They have not been able to use a single system due to touchpad issues in the entire lot
We have made innumerable calls Dell to resolve the problem, but the team is unable to identify and rectify the problem.
We have spoken to our partner account manager, regional account manager, Service Specialist and Escalation Team, requesting them to provide us with a solution at the earliest as their work is getting hampered. Our customer has to deploy the same by 1st July however they do not have any Dell Laptops functioning correctly.
How do we escalate this to the Dell management and get a replacement ASAP

Started about a month ago - pops up over and over and over and over - about every five minutes or less.  I've got a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 Professional.  Another forum said to just uninstall Dell Support Center (Support Center Software) - but when I try to uninstall it - THE SAME STUPID WINDOW POPS UP ASKING ME TO INSERT THE SOFTWARE.  I tried doing a Browse and it's looking for DSC20.msi.  I haven't managed to find it yet.  I have at least found \Program Files(x86)\Dell Support Center but there's so many sub-directories...
I shouldn't have to be jumping through so many hoops just to uninstall a program.  This is driving me crazy and I haven't found an answer online yet.

Someone told me in another thread, and I also read here, that

All Wireless N routers support dual-band 802.11nClick to expand...

implying that any wireless N router can use the 5 GHz band as well as the 2.4 GHz band. Isn't that the implication?

Then why is it that when I browse routers, only some of them list both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency, while others list only 2.4 in the specs? I want to switch my network over to 5 GHz in order to get away from all the interference I'm getting, as discussed in this thread.

So what's the real answer? Will any cheap "wireless N" router be able to do 5 GHz, (e.g. this one?) or do I need a more expensive dual band one?

Answer:Confused about router support for 5 GHz band. All wireless N routers support it??

No. The 802.11n standard supports 5GHz, but does not require it. Now if a device was 802.11ac, it will have a 5GHz radio since that standard only works on that freq.

Hello there, I'm interested in finding out more about the X220 - In particular the actual bandwidth available to the i7 Version of the X220 with it's USB 3 port. I'd like to be able to use the Black Magic Design Intensity Shuttle with this laptop, however it requires a Super Speed USB 3.0 Port. It's common for laptops to only use a single PCIe lane interconnect, giving the USB3 Port only 2.5gbps of available bandwidth. This won't be enough to allow that capture card to work  A similar situation also exists for the Expresscard slot - To be able to support Expresscard v2.0, It needs to provide 5gbps (2x PCIe v1 lanes). If it does this, It's possible I can buy an USB 3 Expresscard which will have enough bandwidth to use the card. In short I would like to know if the super speed USB 3 port can actually function at the intended speed, and is not crippled to half rate.

I paid for 3 years of support and accidental damage in home support. Together, it cost around $400 on my new XPS laptop. Afew months after I bought XPS 15 9560, I pulled out the charging cord, and a round piece of plastic that was inside the port came out too.
I called technical support at 5 pm EST, and received someone in Southern India. I gave them my information, and they confirmed that I had service. They then fought with me for 15 minutes, telling me I could NOT have any in home service. The representative, who kept calling me by my first name (no respect)  said I had to send my laptop to a depot in Texas for them to identify the issue. Finally, after I insisted, the representative, S. Sirya Kiran, FINALLY allowed me to get in home support IF I sent him photos of the damage. I did. Finally, I received an email telling me to select a date for service, which I did, 12/18/17 between 9 am and 1:00 pm .
I took time off and waited. No one came by 11:30, or called. So I contacted World Wide Tech Services. They then told me they didn't have enough techs to handle my area, so they were NOT coming. I asked why no one gave me the courtesy of a phone call and they had no answer. They said a new company, Unisys, would contact me. (I doubt they ever will.)
Is this what Dell gives people for their money as far as support and accidental damage in home service for $400? This is an outrage.

A few weeks I had some issues that were fixed with something as simple as performing a DNS Flush.

Prior to that Dell told me to back up everything on my laptop (Inspiron 1501) and restore to factory settings, which I did.

Since doing that, I get errors which cause my windows updates to fail. I'm guessing something must be missing now that I restored to factory settings. I called Dell, asked if I should try restoring to factory settings again, and they said that most likely wouldn't work. Okay fine.

Then, they told me that I'd have to pay them, (starting at $65) to reinstall my operating system. (I'm guessing that would be considered reimaging my machine?)

Anyway, if I have all of my Windows Operating CD's that came with my machine along with the Dell Start up CD, why on earth would I need to pay Dell to do it remotely over the phone? When I asked the "tech support" guy (who seemed more interested in trying to sell me their service), he danced around the question.

But in the end, he told me, that even with those start up disks (operating system and the other Dell disk) there is no way I'd be able to do it on my own.

Is there any truth to this? Why would they give me the disks in the first place? Truthfully, I'm techically challenged. Any hope for someone like me?

Thanks!

Will a modular PSU work with old systems?

Answer:Will MODULAR PSU support any motherboard?

depends if it's AT or ATX
99% of cases and PSU's are ATX today, and have the same kind of connectors. the 4-pin molex plugs, and the 20 pin ATX connector - although there are some newer ones, like the extra 4-pin connector, or the 24-pin ATX connector for PCI-E motherboards.
if your case is ATX, it will work.
if you get a PSU with a 24-pin connector, you just need a 24 to 20 pin converter (an older ATX system will always use the 20 pin connector) although most PSU's are still 20-pin

Hey there, I've recently gotten more and more into gaming, and as it gets more serious the demands for less lag has gotten to be more!

and here's the CPU I want to put inside of it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103210

http://s94836709.onlinehome.us/HDs.jpg

So I just want to know if it's possible to go over 4 on this board.

Answer:Can this motherboard support 8 harddrives?

While I can't get your link to work, the text in the link would suggest it's an Asus P4P800E-Deluxe. If this is the correct motherboard, then yes- you can have more then 4 drives with this model. I have a few of these and they come highly recommended... just good luck finding one. hehe.

It has an Intel ICH5/5R chip which has:
2xUDMA (4 IDE/ATA drives total)
2xSATA (2 SATA drives)

It also has an on-board Promise controller that adds:
1xUDMA (2 drives total)
2xSATA (2 SATA drives)

Keep in mind the above controller(s) arrangement! If you're planning on having four SATA drives in a single raid volume, it will NOT work. You can, however, have 2xSATA RAID 0/1 (Promise), and another 2xSATA RAID 0/1 (ICH5R) volume and then use Windows to combine the volumes.

Does the above motherboard support 4 sticks of DDR RAM at the same time?

I only ask because it says:

Supported RAM Technology - DDR SDRAM, DDR II SDRAM

I don't want to get it and then find out that it either supports DDR "OR" DDR II & not 4 sticks of DDR at the same time.

If it DOESNT support 4 sticks of DDR at the same time I'll have to go with this motherboard instead (which I'm pretty sure DOES support all 4 sticks of DDR) - http://www.redstore.com/fx/prc_gen.php?genre=PC&cat=MOT&subcat=mot&subcat2=lga775 (the ASROCK mobo, 4th down the list)

Ive never really thought about this problem, but on the manual for my motherboard it says it supports ram modules: 128/256/512.
But it has two ram slots and supports up to 2 GB. Will it be able to read x2 1 GB sticks?

Also is it good to push your motherboard to its max.
For example my motherboard support P4 up to 3.0ghz. Is it fine to get a 3.0ghz cpu and 2 GB of ram? Or is it bad to max out your cpu. Ex.Will it have heating problems?

Answer:Motherboard support question..

In my opinion, it's perfectly alright. As long as you have a good psu and sufficient cooling, there's nothing to worry about. Go mad!

And just so you know, your link is just a url to the microsoft website, not the mobo lol.

Your 2800 CPU falls in the category "AMD Athlon XP up to 3000+ @ 333MHz FSB".
Meaning you can run it on the Tiger mobo without any problems. Just get the appropriate optimal memory for that bus-speed

Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3

Answer:Hypervisors and Motherboard Support

Stay far away from using Intel *DESKTOP* boards for server functions. Intel is very bad about supporting them in server conditions, and don't generally provide drivers for server OS's. I've never use that particular board, but it's just a rule I now use after being burned by Intel several times.

Use the Gigabyte.

Answer:Will my motherboard support these parts?

They will work, however, I suggest a power supply of 500+ Watts, the 430 may not be sufficient.

i seem to be in a catch 22 situation, i am assembling a new pc and have purchased the motherboard gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L and am looking at processors to buy. but on the gigabyte processor support page it lists products by revision numbers, so my board is revision 1.0, ok, but then it lists supported cpu's by bios versions. it then explains how to see what version you have, but to view it you have to have a working machine. so how can i be sure of processor support before i buy? and this problem seems to be the same for all makes of motherboard.

Answer:motherboard processor support?

it must work with any quad or core 2 duo otherwise they would never sell any boards.

i opened up my case and it said i had a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 motherboard.
I was wondering if my motherboard could take a 6600 PCI. How do i check?
I purchased this pc around 2 years ago.

Answer:Does my motherboard support PCI cards?

I assume you mean a PCI-E graphics card since an Nvidia 6600 doesn't come in a PCI model. The answer is no, your motherboard supports AGP graphics cards. Nvidia 6600s come in AGP models, however.

Hello SF.

I'd like to connect a TV with an HDMI cable, in an HDMI input in the motherboard. However, it doesn't really get any sort of signal. I'd connect it to the gfx-card if it actually had an ordinary HDMI input instead of the mini-HDMI.
I tried downloading the latest vga-drivers on ASUS' website, but without luck. I've also tried to plug out the main monitor connected to the gfx-card and just having the HDMI in the Motherboard, to the TV- but again without luck.

To make a long story short, how do I use the display inputs in my ASUS Motherbaord.

(Check my specs).
Best Regards,
FredeGail.

Answer:HDMI support in Motherboard

Have you looked in BIOS to make sure you have the onboard graphics enabled?

If so, is the onboard graphics listed in Windows Device Manager (without errors)?

Biostar MCP6P M2+ v6.1 with AMD Athlon II X3 440 CPU : BIOSTAR :: MCP6P M2+ :: Specification
2 GB Memory
450W Fan

Operating System will be on 160Gb IDE Maxtor Drive and 2nd Drive on SATA (320Gb)
using onboard Graphics.

Windows 7 32 Bit to be installed.

----------------------------------

Now thats the specs and what I want out the way....
Just a few questions, if anyone can answer please...

1.Has anyone had any issues installing this System onto the above board?

2.Which Bios Should I download between these 2 (assuming the newest but not sure)
BIOSTAR :: MCP6P M2+ :: BIOS

3.Will 2GB and my 450W Fan be enough to handle all this?

4.Should Bios settings be set as defualt or should I configure any for good system performance (dont want to overclock)

....Win 7 32 or 64 Bit.. whats better for this sytem?

Thanks

Answer:Advice on Motherboard and CPU Support

If you mean you have a 450 watt power supply, that's plenty unless you have a very powerful graphics card. I'm assuming it is a reliable brand and in good shape.

In your situation, I would go with 32 bit Windows.

Leave BIOS settings at default until you get it up and running well. After that, maybe make some changes and maybe not.

2 GB of RAM is OK. You might or might not notice the difference if you added more, depending on what you do with the PC.

I would definitely NOT download a new BIOS unless you have a specific problem with the existing BIOS. Flashing a BIOS is serious business and not to be done without a good reason. What is your good reason?

I don't know anything about that motherboard.

I have an Asus M4A785TV-V Evo motherboard. It has an integrated Hd 4200, but that is not used. It also has two PCIex16 slots, one of which has my HD5770 in.
If I get a second HD 5770 and put it in the other PCIe x16 slot, will I be able to run Crossfire?
The motherboard manual says that it supports Hybrid Crossfire between dedicated and integrated cards, but nothing about Crossfire between two dedicated cards.

If it doesn't support crossfire, can I still put a second graphics card in and use it in the same way?

Answer:Will my motherboard support crossfire?

If your Mobo book of words says yes, then it means yes!

You cannot crossfire a graphics card, such as the one you have, with any onboard graphics native to the mainboard AFAIK... all references to crossfire refers to use of both graphics slots and a crossfire bridge connector...

Will this motherboard the Hamar, be able to support an RX 480 with the appropriate power supply and case? Also on the Product page in store, it says that it has an i5-6400 with clock speeds 2.7-3.3GHZ, however on the HP website it says it has an i5-6400T which is clocked lower. I would be getting this PC as compensation for another broken one that they have sold me, so I am just curious if I can upgrade it a little until I get newer components. Thanks.

Answer:RAM support for D845GVSR Motherboard ?

Do you really need more than 1gb RAM?  The  machine is 11 year old, you are going to be limited mostly by the CPU, not the RAM.  Not worth spending any money on IMO.

Hi!
I recently bought these computer parts, while I'm waiting I was wondering (again) to make sure they will work together.

Motherboard Biostar TA780G M2+ Motherboard: http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3672389&CatId=2320
Processor AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Processor :http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2905661&CatId=2328

For Memory, I already added a 2 GB one : http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3281625&CatId=3409
But I bought another, currently though, they did not have the same 2gb so I got a I GB :http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2485590&CatId=1654 Will these two work together,I noticed they had different CAS Latencies.

Finally one last question:
With this processor,motherboard, memory and:
120 GB Hard Drive
Nvida Geforce 9600 GT ~ 512 MB DDR3
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (32 bit)
Realtek HD Integrated Audio
Cooler Master 460 Watt PSU

be able to work right and play Grand Theft Auto IV?
Thanks,
techdude42397

Answer:Will this motherboard support this processor?

Basically all the components are compatible, as for the memory mixing it with different CAS can be negligible the computer will just runs them at the slowest latency. As for the system requirements for Grand Theft Auto IV:

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4GHz
Memory: 1.5GB Vista / 1GB XP, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space
Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1GHz
Memory: 2.5GB Vista / 2.5GB XP, 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space
Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

Hi!

I have a P4M80-M7A motherboard currently running with a Pentium D 2.8ghz CPU. I get massive bottlenecks when I run Vista with it, so I was thinking of upgrading the CPU to the fastest CPU that will run with the motherboard.

I need some help interpreting these specs:

http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=P4M80-M7A+v7.x

The website says it supports Pentium 4 and Celeron processors. The manual says "supports Intel Pentium 4 processors up to 3.8ghz). What specifically does that mean? Is the Pentium D part of the Pentium 4 family?

I suppose THE question I need help answering is, with this motherboard, what's the fastest CPU I can throw on, regardless of brand/make/model?

Sorry, I used to be real handy with PCs back in the late 90s but all this new stuff has gotten me confused!

Thanks!

Shu

This is a General question regarding the end of support for XP. I realise at the end date the computer should be backed up in case you have to format the disc at any time after the end of the support period.

My question is does the built in Windows back up in XP when backing up the system include the installed updates? Or is it best to use third party software to do this.

shipboard

Answer:[SOLVED] End ofThis is a general question regarding the end of support for XP support

I believe Windows just backs up your personal files and won't do the entire OS. You'll need a 3rd party program to do the entire HDD.

Also you really should think about upgrading to Windows 7. Staying on XP after the end support date is not recommended as you will lose security updates from Microsoft as well as patches.

So I am sitting here on my MacBook Pro which in my opinion does not have any wireless issues whatsoever, it works. I still own this ThinkPad with a garbage wireless card, and I feasted my eyes on an Intel 7260 but lo and behold, it isn't on the whitelist! Scouring eBay and Amazon I did find a FRU, but would the number of that FRU be the same on the Hardware list? Lets see, well I cannot even find it. All I get are Page Not Found errors which to me is a hilarious joke of Lenovo's support. What does this mean for me? Is my X230 at a very very unnecessary end of life? Should I like, fork out £1400 for an "upgraded" model that probably won't fix most of my problems? My problems is money and saving money. Should i now look elsewhere? No, because I'd rather keep my money to actually FIX my current laptop's problems (the N2200 is a garbage card and would like to replace it with something that's up to date to todays technology but that isn't happening by the sounds of it) I am frustrated with my current laptop's problems and it's having a large effect on my studies. And possibly you can also lose customers by inadequate non-existent support and failure to give us the freedom to actually let us upgrade for those who do. For those who don't, more like.
