Colour Problem

Question: Colour Problem

I have recently bought a new rig, it runs perfect in games, however, I am having a small (but somewhat annoying) problem.

The colour quality seems to be low. I have it set to "Highest (32 bit)", but all colours seem to be messed up. I have included a couple of screenshots of my desktop, and one of a game, to show what I mean.

Desktop

Game

I have a GTX 260, with the latest driver installed. I spent quite a while messing around with my monitor settings, to no avail.

Specs (if needed):

Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.4GHz
Gigabyte GTX 260
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 Motherboard
Corsair TX 650W
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Preferred Solution: Colour Problem

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Colour Problem

I don't see what's wrong with your desktop...

As for the game screenshot you provide:

- Most games have their own color settings. Desktop color depth is not automatically applied to games, this has to be done manually in most cases.

- This game seems to be quite old (judging by the polygon count of the models), are you sure that it fully supports your hardware? Do you have any screenshots of newer games with the same problem?

Can anyone suggest a way to get the Microsoft Solitaire Collection colours back. Yesterday, all colour went and the cards just showed in yellow on a black ground. Asked Microsoft, but no help given. Am I the only person with this problem, or has someone
solved it?
Updated drivers for  Nvidia Graphics card.  Reset the Collection under 'Features' in Settings.
Nothing works yet.  Any ideas, anybody?

Hi there gurus.
My pc doesn?t show certain colour objects in Publisher 2007 and some on-line sites. Overall, the screen colour is very good. I know the fault is localised, because when I switch to Print Preview in Publisher it looks fine and I can see all the object colours. (I only lose the colour with objects, not text)
Also, when I send a copy of a Publisher page to my partner who is on the same PC, it looks fine on her screen.
I?ve tried going to Install/uninstall programs and run the Repair, but to no avail. The guys in my computer shop are clueless without seeing it. Anyone who can help solve this for me is a gem.
Cheers!
David

What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with compatible inks?

I'm happy to invest in buying a colour laser: but I can't find any refills for lasers
At least they don't seem to be widely available

So, my choice is: colour laser + genuine inks or colour inkjet + compatible inks

From what I know, side by side: laser's are cheaper
But, how about when compared to genuine laser ink to compatible colour inkjet inks?

I should stress that for me needs, I am not overly concerned if using compatibles doesn't give me perfect results - just close as possible is fine for me

What's more important probably is speed of print at highest quality

ANY feedback would be great

Thanks

Answer:What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with ink compatibles?

Finding Compatible Remanufactured Color Toner cartridges can be dicey. While they may be available, the problem may end up being the company tht does the remanufaturing. It is also dependant upon the model printer you get. I have noticed that the savings on my Black Canon X-25 toner cartridge is only about $12 lower than the cost of a Factory original cartridge. There are sites that I would save up to $30 per cartridge, but part of this is eaten up by the shipping charges. For my toner cartridge, I am about 1/2 mile from the store that does nothing but ink and toner refill services, and their garauntee thier cartridges 100%. In 3 years I have only had to return one cartridge and it was an HP #17 Color cartridge.

Now per page printing cost on a laser is much cheaper than on an inkjet. Though the printer cost itself is usually much higher for a Laser. Personally I use the laser much more than than my Inkjet, but I do use the inkjet for all color printing. But then 95% of my printing is monochrome text.

Hi, I'm using the Aerolite theme with Aeroglass, and want a consistent colour for the borders. So I set accent colour from background 'off' and choose the colour. Fine so far.

Now that's ok if I log off and on.

But if I sleep or hibernate (not personally ) and then resume, the colour and setting are lost.

I noticed that on resuming, the border colour is present until the 'Please wait' screen appears, after which these settings are lost.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Help please...I do cartoons in Photoshop for magazines...how can I adjust my screen, so that what I see on the screen will match what is printed in my client's magazine? Thanks.click here

Answer:Screen colour to match magazine colour?

I found the easiest way to achieve this was to print the picture and then adjust my screen to match. Once you've adjusted the screen all future pictures which look too light or dark, on screen, can be adjusted to suit within your software.

Hello friends,
I was just thinking that wouldn't it be great if we get more color options to change the background color on our Windows Phone devices than just black or white as we get on Windows 8.1 devices to customize background color along with tile colour?

Answer:More colour options to change background colour

I personally like the black and white, but I saw a mockup of a dim tropical photo in place of the black and it looked quite beautiful.

Hello.

I seriously need help with my PC. I've reinstalled Windows XP and Service Pack 2, and I can't chnge the Screen resolution or the colour quality. It sucks. The resolution stays at 800x600, the lowest possible, and the colour quality stays at 8 bit. I think I have a ATI 128 MB DDR Radeon 9800 Pro. I dunno whether thats a driver or what. And I also don't know my graphics card, or whether that will help at all.

I would swear at this point but I'm too young.

Oh but I'll use this instead

Has anyone got any help for me that I can understand. I'm 14 but I still can understand most computer talk.

Anyway thanks very much for reading all this crap and please try not to point out all my spelling mistakes.

Alex Jordan

Answer:[resolved]Help with resolution and colour and colour quality??.. anyone??

Heya, welcome to the forums

Okay, it has to do with your drivers. Go to ATI's website and find your driver.

Here's the link

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html

Please download and install both the Control Center as well as the Display driver. Then restart your computer and try to change the resolution.

Cheers!

Hi Allhope someone more knowledgable can advise - I recently purchased a Lexmark x500n multifunction colour laser printer - I had a big black print job to do excel and word - 2000 pages - i was shocked to see that - ok the black starter cartridge of 2500 pages was nearly empty- fair enough - but all three colour cartridges (1500 page size) were nearly all empty too - I hadn't done any colour printing but when i contacted the manuf they advised that the printer uses colour also to print black!! - it's getting returned to them - but do do all colour lasers do this - obviously this quadruples the costs of printing and has put my costing out of the window!! - any advice would be great - it's a network colour printer, with copier and scanner that I need - a fax would be great but not essential.thanks in advanceTrifly

Answer:COLOUR LASER - PRINTING BLACK USING COLOUR!!

That would pee me off no end. How in God's name can it use colour to create black when there's a black cartridge in there? A cheapo mono laser seems to be your ideal tool. I know nothing about colour laser printers, but is there an option anywhere in the settings to print using only the black cartridge? Does the printer still work if you take out the colour cartridge while printing only black text documents?

Question: Colour Problem

I've got a samsung DVD rom. I'm running XP Home SP1. I have a couple of players but none of them run the dvds with the correct colours.

If you've ever looked at negatives, yellow is opposite to blue. This is what is happening on my players. None of them have an adjustment for colour.

I've checked that the drivers for the DVD are correct and I've also checked the drivers for my graphics card they are correct.

I'm a bit stuck, can anyone help?

Question: Colour Problem

Hope someone can help. I've had my computer for a few months (passed on from family). Ever since I've had it I can only see the following colours - blue, grey, white, black and bright yellow. I have no reds, greens, pinks, purples etc. This problem is on the internet (Liverpool FC no longer have red shirts but gold shirts) and on packages - word etc.Currently use Windows 98 - do you think if I upgraded it would solve the problem? Not sure if it is a monitor problem as before I start the computer- the screen shows rainbow colours, including green and red.Perhaps something has been accidently deleted from my programs??

Answer:Colour Problem

Hi, Try this before you do anything else.Right click the Desk Top/ Properties/ Settings tab.Check that the colour is set to High Colour 16 bit. Now click on the Advanced Button at the bottom/ Gamma Correction tab and check that the slider has not been moved up to the top (Bluish). If it has, return the slider to the centre (uncalibrated).I hope this helps.

Hello

I have been using Photoshop CS4 for a long time on my laptop which has Vista Home Premium. However, two days back, I noticed that my brush strokes on the photoshop canvas was appearing like a gradient, from the top corner to the bottom. Originally, I thought this was because of an effect I used, but upon testing it on a blank background, I still noticed the problem was there. And here I was thinking, that this was a problem with photoshop. Here are some screenshots.

http://i56.tinypic.com/esjihv.jpg
http://i51.tinypic.com/jhc8oy.jpg
I then set photoshop to default settings, with no luck at all. Then, I did a system restore, and when that didn't help, I tried to reinstall, which also didn't work. But then I had the crazy idea that this wasn't photoshop's problem, so I tried to do the same thing on MS Paint. I just drew a line from the top corner to the bottom, and guess what? Same thing! To make sure of this, I opened up MS Word, and made a rectangle, which confirmed that the colour DID appear as somewhat of a gradient. So I thought maybe, this was a problem with my laptop's screen. So, I connected the display to my TV using an HDMI cable, and there still weren't any differences.

So, I tried disabling my display driver, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670. The problem was still there, on MS Word, Paint and photoshop.

I am very involved in digital painting, and with this problem, I really am having difficulties to do anything. All help would ... Read more

Answer:problem printing in colour

We have no idea what application you are having a problem with. You say that you can print in color if it's a PDF, but you don't say what type of documents won't print in color. e.g. Word? Excel? jpg? etc.?Typically, you can choose Color or Black & White/Grayscale from your printing preferences. Hi dave,

It would appear that you are using a non aero theme, which is wy you are not seeing the Aero colour screen. - this is normal.

It may be that you have selected the scheme either by accident or intent or your system is not sufficient to run aero.

Without your system specs it is difficult to proceed further

hi, ive recently gone back to using windows xp after my vista home premium messed up, and since rolling back my colour has completely messed up, i edit and create videos for my youtube channel and since rolling back the BLACK in them is brighter than it should be, ive read numurous forums and found my video editing software is not the problem as nothing had been changed in their settings so my only guess is that windows xp doesnt like the color black, when editing the videos they look almost perfect but when theyve finished there is no contrast and brighter than should be. also, when viewing the preview box when highlighting over a picture or video, the preview box shows no black, it just shows a blank background,

please if anyone coudl help id be ever greateful.

I am using Photoshop 7. The problem is whenever I open a picture in Photoshop, it appears to be more orangish/yellowish than the picture actually is. The same picture when opened in any other software, may that be IrfanView, MS Phot Editor, MS Paitbrush etc, comes out to be fine. Now, when I try to edit the pics in Photoshop, because of the faulty colour display, I am not able to judge it well. I am including a copy of a photo opened in Photoshop and Irfan View. Answer:problem with colour printing

I think you can leave the scanner out of the argument.Something is out of joint either with the parameters of the saved file or the printer's software.Assuming you don't have an "out of ink" problem check the size and saved format of the file.Again: Has anything else been changed recently? If its not the file, and not an ink problem you may have to re-install the printer drivers, but do check that it will print Windows testpage first.

I'm pissed off at my printer, because he's making troubles the whole night.

Where I'm now: I have a small 3 coloured grafic, orange, yellow and red. He prints it as a colorflow from blue over brown to green but at the wrong places. the only wright colour is red.

How I got there: First exchanged Magenta because it was emty, yellow is nearly full and recently exchanged cyan. he has still some black and this isnt really needed anyway. and during the whole process I did those cleaning, deep cleaning, nozzle check and print head alignment, in the hope it would correct anything. But nothing helped.

The printer is a bit old, but he served me well up to now.

As a idea to solve the problem i printed several papers only with about 15 of that grafic, hoping he gets the wrong colour-mix "washed-out". Which he does a bit till the end of a paper, and in the next it's wrong all over again.

Anyone hasgot an idea?
\\Edit: Ok now it's even worse, it's practically blue and a bit violet. As if the magenta and cyan come in way too strong, and the yellow way too soft, although it clearly has enough ink.

I am told that I need to DL a particular driver or drivers to sort this problem out. There my knowledge ends on this subject.

Answer:2/16 Colour driver problem

Hi Weeian, welcome

First off a few questions to get the ball rolling......

What Windows version ( or Linux ) are you using?
What Motherboard or CPU do you have?
What Graphic Card do you have?

to aid you in finding these answers, download this Everest ( free ) install and run it, then click Computer > Summary and you will find the answers for my questions in that list.

Then we will be able to aim you to the correct drivers, as you have re-installed the Operating System its most likely you will also need the Chipset/Motherboard drivers as these aid other drivers to be found and installed correctly.

It could be the TFT has developed a fault or it could be the graphics driver has been corrupted, reinstall the graphics card drivers, if that doesn't help then the easiest thing to try would be to try your TFT with someone elses PC, if it works ok then you know the problem is with your PC and not the screen and can post back for some more help.

Answer:pc colour problem help needed please

these can cause the colour to fade. If you switch off and then back on is the colour then ok for a while? On some monitors there is a button marked degauzz which clears out the effects of magnetism. Books are great if you need them but in the main they never tell you exactly what to do. the best bet is to type the symptom into google and see what comes up.

Is photoshop, your monitor and the printer using the same colour profile?I personally use the "RGB profile" because a) its easier to set up and b) on my computer it appears more consistent across hardware and software - including Photoshop.

Dear Friends,

I am having a colour problem but am not sure whether it is a camera or a computer problem. I have a Canon Powershot A95 digital camera using Compact Flash Memory Cards and a Windows 7 Home Edition desktop PC. If I take a photograph outside and then view the image on the LCD screen on the camera the colours are correct. However, if I then transfer the photo into a folder on my Pc using a USB cable the sky in particular and buildings come out pink ! If I take the identical photo with the camera on my mobile phone and transfer it to the PC the colours reproduce correctly. If I take a photo with the Canon camera inside a building the colours come out correctly, the problem only arises with "outside shots"

Thank you for reading this and if anyone has any thoughts on this matter I would be pleased to hear from them.

Has anyone else had a problem with colour reproduction from a Monolta Dimage s304? The colour on the camera LCD screen is fine but when I run it onto computer through "image viewer utility" blues end up with a very purple tint no matter what ICC profile I run it through. I may not have adjusted my monitor colour space correctly but I'm not sure if I correctly understand what to do.

My monitor lives in a garden shed. Normally, there is a heater in there, but i have not worked out there much this winter - getting too old to get cold in the winter (no, not THAT old). Anyway, I went out to print something the other day, docked the laptop, and the TFT monitor came up in just shades of red, no blues or greens or yellows at all. panic stations. colours were fine on the laptop. Printed fine, too. next day, no picture at all on monitor. Two days later (warmer weather now), no problem, everthing back to normal.

Am completely baffled. What's going on? It's nearly out of warranty so I don't want to waste time, but it's a bit of a trek back to PCWorld to complain if I havent got a problem.

Anybody understand this?

Thanks a million!

Yesterday I tried to install new ink cartridges into my printer. ( EPSOM 880 Colour. ) When I powered off the printer the ink carriers stayed to the right when they are supposed to go to the left of the interior to allow access to the housings for the cartridges. The only way I found to get around this was to start to print something, then power off the printer whilst it was some way alomg the printing route. After changing the cartridges with new ones I resumed printing. The ink cartridge indicators now still show both empty and printing is erratic. The test printouts indicated that the heads needed to be cleaned, which I did OK, but when printing text the spacer lines are almost blending together. D I need to reinstall the software and install as a "new" printer?

Answer:Yet another printer problem......EPSON 880 Colour.

click hereI have been reading reviews about the 880, and a lot of people are finding, that after about six months the print heads get clogged, and the only way forward is to take it into an Epson dealer..The price of printers now a days, maybe better off getting a new one?...

Hello everyone

Can you help?

I am running Windows XP Pro and am having trouble with the way colours display at times and am wondering if anyone has any ideas.

If I have my display settings on Highest (32 bit) some of my icons on taskbars/toolbars get a pink shadow behind them for some reason (see attachment - Bar). If I revert to the only other choice which is Medium (16 bit) the pink shadows disappear but the desktop wallpaper and all other images appear 'bitsy/blurred/blotchy or not as sharp' (sorry, I don't know how better to describe it). I have attached also some other files to perhaps assist any of you in trying to work out why this happens.

Obviously I would like all the images and icons to be as sharp and clear as possible without the pink background, but don't have any idea about what I can do to fix the problem.

It gets a bit frustrating when you find an image for wallpaper that you would really like, but when displayed it doesn't show up as crisp as it could (when on 16 bit).

Am I missing something here?

Any help or advice would be ever so appreciated, and I look forward to hearing from anyone with some ideas.

Bye for now, and thanks in anticipation.

Answer:Colour resolution / display problem

Looking at your pic it seems to me that not all the icons have this shadow. I would simply guess that the shadow is part of the graphic itself, but is in a color which 16-bit cannot display. I, personally, would stick with 32-bit for the best resolution, and learn to live with the "bonus" of having a few pink (fuschia) shadows.

I have a canon printer i865 and after the inital canon cartridges had run out, i only replaced the black cartridges with non manufacturer or alternative and cheaper cartridges. Now, when i print out colour photos, it seems that the black or darker areas of the photos are faded and washed out, is this due to the replacement of the cheaper cartridges??Previously i encountered no problems when i printed colour photos with the Canon cartridgesplease advise and help!!!

Answer:CANON Colour Printing Problem

Buy a Canon Black cartridge and put it in, if your print quality returns to normal after a couple of runs, you have solved the problem. If not, try cleaning the heads, but my guess is that the 3rd party cartridge is not up to craik.

i'm having a stange problem with my printer profiles and i'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on it. don't worry, its a goofy windows issue

ok, long story short i use 3rd party inks for my epson C86 so i need to use a different colour profile. by default, the profile that comes with epson's drivers is alrady in the printer properties. i've added my new profile, but for some reason it won't use it. i even removed the epson profile from the list and the damn thing still prints with it.it says that the new one is set as default and the old one isn't even in the list....but damn. i'm confused. just trying to print using the windows picture viewer, so this isn't even anything complex.

anyone have any ideas? thanks!

How do I get the true colours when I print?I'm using high gloss photo HP paper, I've used canon paper and it seems to make no difference. Those on the monitor seem to be much better colour.

Answer:printing photos"colour problem"

Hi Boy Zone,I've experienced similar with my Epson printer and assuming you have already done the obvious and cleaned the print head, it may well be worth checking...* The printer driver settings - I've noticed that turning off some colour handling features of printer drivers can go a long way to improving what you see printed out to match what is seen on screen.* Likewise, if you are using something like Photoshop Elements you may find a hidden away option that is changing the colours when an image is printed compared to what is on the screen.HTH.

Hi. I'm running dual dell 1704 fpv monitors on win xp pro using a 128mb nvdia graphics card, one monitor using a digital input, the other using analogue. I've not noticed until today, but there's quite a colour (or brightness/gamma??) difference between the two. I'm a web designer, and only noticed today when using Photoshop that having designed a site layout on the digital screen, when I move the app over to the analogue the colours are quite different eg blues are paler / different shade, and oranges appear yellow. Also where I've used an image on 10% transparency on the digital monitor it looks good and just visible to appear behind text, on the analogue screen its barely visible! This is quite a worry. I checked on my laptop, and the image appears the same as the analogue display. so the digital is giving me an enhanced display, I guess as its more accurate. The problem is, I need obviously to design for how the majority of users will see it. I'd ideally like both monitors to represent the same thing so I can work on either. I've loaded the correct Dell drivers, played with colour settings, all to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas, or experienced this, and is there any solution??

Answer:Dual monitor colour problem

Check Monitor settings in Display properties, are both the same. or check the on screen buttons on the monitor, Tally

Hi, I have a problem with my card game skip98. The cards are black instead of white/transparent. I used to have this game before formating my pc and it was fine.

This is how the game should look like and how it used to look before i format: http://img.brothersoft.com/screenshots/softimage/s/skip98-7165-1.jpeg (i can't take a screen shot of how it actually look or the picture is totally black for some reason)

I downloaded the game on this site (before and after I format): http://www.brothersoft.com/games/skip98.html

I have tried to run the game under windows 95/98/xp/administator and nothing seems to help.

System configuration: Windows Vista Home prenium SP1 (not sure about the service pack), Nvidia GForce 8600 (Lastest graphic driver installed), 1gb ram, Intel core2 duo T7300 2ghz.

I hope you can help me, thank you.

Hi,

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 940BW monitor connected to my computer however it does not appear to display white properly, its performance varies from program to program. I have attached several screen grabs from my computer showing the differences in colour, unfortunately the problem may be hard to explain.

The screenshot 'adobeerror' appears white through firefox or mozilla (i.e. when I upload it to this message and looked at the preview it was white) however when i open it anywhere else on my computer it all appears the same colour as the orange surrounding the picture in the file 'orangevswhite'. Furthermore my adobe photoshop displays all whites in the same colour (the tangerine/orange colour). I have uninstalled adobe previously and reinstalled, it does nothing.

In the picture 'orangevswhite' I have also questioned whether the colour surrounding the photos in window sphoto gallery should be orange or if it should be white, I do not know since some of the time, white appears that colour also. If it is indeed orange, can you change it? it makes viewing photos a very strange experience since it makes colours in photos appear wrong.

I have an Iiyama Prolite E435S monitor which gives a pinkish colour unless I press the Auto/Exit button on the monitor. It then reverts back to normal colour for as long as the Auto Set-up message appears on the screen, then goes back to the pink hue again as soon as the message disappears. I told Iiyama about this problem and they replaced the monitor. The new one seemed ok, if not perfect, for a few weeks then started to behave exactly the same as the one it replaced. It's connected to the pc via D-sub. The pc is based on an Asus 400 board and AMD processor. Any ideas??

I would try on a different pc or try a different graphics card. You will have 3yr warranty so you just need to find out if its your comp or the monitor.Good luck

I bought an LCD monitor (ViewSonic VA1703wb) last week and for the first few days it was working fine. Then, it started to flicker, i.e. the colours blue or pink would flash on and off, tinting the screen.

Previously, I had a CRT monitor which was permanently tinted a deep pink or blue. I was told that the guns in the monitor were busted.

My graphics card is old, an nVidia GeForce 4 MX440 with AGP 8X (drivers are updated). To try to determine if the problem was the card, I switched the LCD monitor's plug to the integrated card - but it wouldn't work. 'No signal' would appear and then the monitor would just turn off (the light went orange).

Then, I went to the Device Manager and disabled the nVidia card (while still keeping the monitor plugged in to that card). Now, the colour appears to be fine and there's no flickering, but there's no right option for the resolution (I'm using a 17" widescreen) and everything is generally slow and crappy.

I've also checked the cables to see if they were loose and the pins to see if they were bent.

Buying a new graphics card isn't really going to happen right now, so my questions are:

1) Is it really a problem with the graphics card? If it is, is there any way to fix it without getting a new one?
2) How do I determine if the integrated card can support the LCD monitor?

Answer:LCD Monitor/Graphics Card Colour Problem

Am I reading that you've disabled the NVidia card, but the monitor is still plugged into it and now the colors are fine?

My friends monitor has her screen showing a pink cast and it looks like the picture has pixels missing/breaking up. This happens whether she is on the internet or not. When she turns on her PC the screen is dimmer/pink etc. She has changed her monitor to see if this solves the problem (it didnt) she then unplugged the cables and blew away dust, that didnt help. She has run AVG; Ad-aware; Spybot all to no avail. The PC is 7 years old. No new software or any changes were made before this happened. We are not very technical, is there anything else she can do or does she have to buy another PC?

Answer:monitor - colour problem/picture breaking up

Reloading the driver software for the video display adapter on the PC would certainly be worth a try, but it does have the possibility of a hardware failure within the PC.

For some time now I've had a weird probelm with zoombrowser. The colour on all avi movie clips is all over the place - rather like a colour negative.
I can overcome this to some extent by viewing the clips NOT via zoombrowser and the colours are perfect. But of course if I want to use the zoombrowser freezeframe facility, all the still come out with the distorted colour.
The odd thing is that the thumbprint of the avi clip is in the correct colour but as soon as I click on it to play it plays in the wrong colours.
I'm a non-techie 70 year old so if anybody can help, please try to make it simple!
The colours on all the normal jpeg images are fine - it's just the movies which are at fault.
Fingers crossed......and thanks

He has also not printed any 'Black & White' photographs.Despite this, he has seen the colour cartridge indicator gradually go down, and now it has reached the 'Replace Cartridge' condition, and the printer will not even print in black text only.Does anyone have any thoughts on what the problem could be?Never having used an Epson Printer I'm somewhat at a loss to advise him.Thanx in advance.

Answer:Epson Stylus Colour 760 Cartridge problem.

Tell him to leave it switched off all the time until he needs it. If he goes a while without using it print out a small page once or twice a week. Not a expert but this model seems to use a lot of ink during auto setup when switching on.

I am using a computer running Windows 8 and use Hotmail for my email service. When I go to Internet Explorer 10 and complete the Hotmail Sign-in, I find that if I try to change the font colour, the new colour swatch appears for a second, then disappears as soon as I move the mouse. If I use Mozilla Firefox to access Hotmail, I don't have that problem. I cannot see how to delete Hotmail in IE10 and reload it since this may solve the problem. can anyone assist please...........Dave
