I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have noticed this problem on 2 X301 Systems. One running XP (SP3') one running Vista (SP2). On both machines the Vodafone Dashboard was used to connect to WAN. At first it worked but afer a while a message saying": "Mobile connection not possible. Ensure that no other programs are using your selected device, and try again in a short while", when trying to connect. On one machine running vista, i could bypass this problem by using the sony ericsonwireless manager. On the XP machine it couldn't find the card (the ericsonwireless manager). The WAN Module is active. Under Modems i can see the F3507g device, which is working normally. Also under Ports I can see 2 COM Ports dedicated to the module (Device Management and GPS Port). Its interesting that i can connect to WAN using the RAS/Dial-up connection. Ipconfig /all shows an external IP and I can surf the net.Are there any known Issues with the Vodafone Dashboard ( I am using latest one Dashboard Version 9.4.3.16284).A driver reinstall didn't help.

Answer:X301 & Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard Modem

You can just dump the "dashboard" and connect using Dial Up Networking, those broadband "connection managers" are really QoS managers and can dynamically quash your throughput based on settings updated on connection and broader network policies. Cellular providers drop calls and WWAN connections duirng periods of congestion and WWAN cards suck up more bandwidth than multiple voice users and their QoS habits are illogical most of the time. You should already have an entry for your ISP within DUN and you can google for sites with the specific settings to recreate / experiment with your settings, one particular site is: http://www.mgmcc.myby.co.uk/GPRS_phone_settings_B.htm     (no affiliation)

I've upgraded to seven, and it's fine : everything works (faster), BUT : no mobile broadband connection, no GPS, and no bluetooth either.I've upgraded all drivers possible from Lenovo support, nothing seems to work. I've read other posts on this subject, but many solutions involved some drivers already installed on my system. The adapter worked fine with Vista. I find this very annoying and would be thankful for any help.

HiAfter upgrading the system the computer does not recognize the WWAN nor the GPS.I've tried to uninstall the the Ericsson wireless module core and download and re-install the latest version of the driver (v1.0.1046.226 ), but the WWAN does not apear in the wireless radio switches (I have only the 802.11 wireless radio switch and the bluetooth switch)the thinkvatage mobile broadband connect  gives an error message "mobile broadband device not found" and so does the thinkvantage GPS utility. Also, I can not find the Ericsson F3507g through the device manager (not in modems and not in network adaptors).I'm almost sure it is not a hardware problem, since it worked fine before.Any ideas?Gilproduct: 7417TNUOS: XP PROAccess connections version 5.33

Answer:ericsson mobile broadband minicard problem

Hi, I had similar problem with driver: 7uwc46ww. For me it (mostly) went away with driver: 7uv706ww. Please note than I am running Win 7 so the exact driver may not be relevant but the behavior was the one you described so it is probably driver related. The problem seems to be that the card is switched off and then you can not get it on again. Two workarounds that I applied to the earlier driver which you may want to try out.1) Install Ericssons wireless manager which works OK for the built in card even if it is intended for non-built in cards2) Treat the WWAN card as a modem and switch it on with an AT-modem string. Mats

Hello!  Recently I installed the latest updates for my computer through the System Update program. Unfortunally it seems like the updater doesn't manage to install all the updates, and that are the drivers for the "Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard PC SC Port". I open it in "device management" (dont't know the translation), and find there are no drivers installed. So is it also for the "Ericsson ... GPS Port/Device Management".  Because of this I can no longer connect to WiFi. I have visited lenovos driver pages, and downloaded the requested driver, including the others needed, and installed them manually. The problems is that Ericcson driver keeps "rolling back" during installation after having paused at 100% (the same happened through System Update). It resets the installation, only leaving the message that it was interrupted.  I have never had this problem before, and I don't see why I suddenly would be without WiFi drivers. However I'm stuck, can't find any previous driver versions to install (nor roll back to an older driver as there is none).  Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks Message Edited by tormhau on 06-18-2009 12:10 PM

After many hours work trying to get this to work after upgrading from Vista, the latest drivers for the card (7uw706.exe) seemed to work okay with a vodafone signal being shown but I was unable to connect. Looking through many web forums, lots of people seem to be having similar problems with these cards in Lenovo machines. I finally discovered that the APN needs to be set for UK operation and now I can connect okay. However, it does not seem to be controllable with "Access Connections" (Blutooth and WiFi adaptors can be controlled okay here) which either shows card is "Disabled" or it is not possible to switch it on. Despite this, the WAN indicator on the front of the PC is always on unless I physically switch all radios off with the front hardware button. Even with this button OFF, a reboot results in the WAN module showing as ON again and it is necessary to physically switch all radios on and off again to extinguish this. Presumably this card is still powered when the indicator is lit which will affect battery life. I believe I am using the latest Access Connections Utility (6gc725ww.exe). Anybody else notice these problems (especially Lenovo Tech people).......?

Hi Everybody!!Finally I purchased the Lenovo w500 notebook and I'm really happy with this product.I have one question about using the Ericsson f3507g Broadband mini Card to connect to a 3G network outside United states. The notebook i have purchased came with the AT&T broadband.Of course I canīt use it because I'm outside united states. So, I would like to use it with my 3g internet connection.I've tried to set up the connection but I had no success.I can only connet throught GPRS/EDGE but not to the 3g network using my SIM card.I have read a lot of information over internet but it is not clear. As I told, I can connect to edge using Access Connection but not to 3g despite the signal strenght is very good.I also tried to set up a dial uo connection and connect directly without using access connection, but I had no success. The dial up connection try to connect but it is not possible. Can someone help me about this issue?I don't know what else to do!Thank you in advance!Marcelo

Answer:Ericsson f3507g Broadband mini Card on w500

Depending on your provider, you might have something that is 3g, but in your area doesn't support it. For example, when I'm on holiday in Finland, Finland has 3g providers, but where I'm located "at the cottage at the lake" I'm connected to a mast that only supports GPRS/edge. The area is not very populated, thus they haven't upgraded that mast yet, they start with dense populated area-masts and work their way down, or maybe they just decided that the traffic on this mast is enough for it to be updated etc. Here at home in Denmark, I have 3g connection because my everyday home is located in a populated area, and my local mast does in fact support 3g. Anyway, try searching for a coverage map from your provider, maybe your local mast isn't able to give you 3g connections at all.Message Edited by OrosAraba on 26-03-2009 09:07 AM

My cell phone provider (T-Mobile--USA) offers wireless broadband using a SIM card and either a laptop stick or mobile hotspot.  I would like to know whether it is possible to utilize the Ericsson F3507g mobile broadband card installed in my X200 notebook.  There is a SIM card provision, but when I insert the T-Mobile SIM card it gives an error message when I try to activate it with the Access Connections program.  Is there software I need to download to be able to use this?  Do I first need to "unlock" the mobile broadband card like I would need to unlock a cell phone that is locked with a competing carrier? The wireless hotspot I bought does not work well in the locations I need the wireless broadband so I would like to try the internal mobile broadband to see if there is improvement. Thanks in advance for your help.

Anyone else using one of these internal minicards; they seem to be getting more popular?

My problem: previous (T-Mobile/UK) PCMCIA card & SIM came with associated software and 'Speedmanager' that allowed one to select no compression for perfect web pages/images. T-Mobile SIM via Dell minicard gives better connection, but unfortunately no control over the fairly obvious compression.

Previous T-Mobile Communications Center v2.7 software that worked perfectly had to be ditched for v2.10 (Vista) when I moved to a new laptop with that OS. In a somewhat bizarre backward step this comes without 'Speedmanager' (?). There is other laptop specific (e.g. Sony) software from T-Mobile, like the Web'n'Walk Manager v3.1 out today, but nothing for Dell.

So back to the Dell card and software; there is no facility to adjust compression in the latter and endless searching brings up no solutions, upgrades or whatever. I can get a perfect web page by pressing Ctl+F5 after each page download, but that's a bit of a fiddle each time. But the fact that one can, means that perhaps a solution is not far away; maybe in the form of alternative software or some sort of intervention (config file, modem scripts etc?).

Anyway, if anyone has got any bright ideas I would be very grateful; thanks

I have F3507g Ericsson 3G card in my SL300.It was quite difficult to configue it, but finally I got it: I'm using it with Access Connections now, Mobile Broadband tab, Vodafone SIM-card inside. When I click on connect, connection will be successful, but the speed is incredible slow. There is HSDPA coverage in this area, the average downloading speed with Vodafone's Huawei USB stick is around 200 kbyte/sec.Since I've been using the net with this built-in 3G card, the maximum speed I experience is less than 1 kbyte/sec (!). You may get a partial answer here, but given the specific nature of your problem, which appears like it might be tied to some aspect of your local 3G service provision, you will really need local Lenovo resources involved.

If you are configuring that in the online store, the "Integrated AT&T Mobile Broadband (Ericsson 3G with GPS)  [add $80.00]" will be the F3507G, unless there has been a recent change. Amazing if your IT guy can go through the purchasing cycle, install, and test, for less than that.

Hi dtowsey,

First things first, have you updated your systems drivers and BIOS? I see there is a newer version of BIOS which can be downloaded independently here:  BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7 but if you haven't already, run TVT System Update to ensure all drivers are up to date. Once we are certain the ThinkPad has all the latest updates we can cross that off the list of potential reasons for your inability to connect to the network.

I hope this at least starts you off on the right track!

Ed

Hello All: I can't get the GPS location feature working on my new W520 (4270-CTO).  The device did work once, the first day I had the computer (before running Microsoft Update and Lenovo Update), however, it has not worked since then. I've tried everything I can think of - removing and re-installing all the software, double-checking the BIOS, looking for device driver problems - but no luck.  When I launch the 'GPS Enabler' application, all I see is 'Satellite Acquisition in progress...".  I know the laptop can see the satellite constellation because I have a small hand-held GPS beside the laptop, and it has an excellent view of the satellites.  So does my Blackberry. My operating system is Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, SP 1 (what the computer shipped with).  I've installed the 83wo13ww driver package (nominally version 6.4.1.6, according to the readme file, but displayed as driver version 1.4.0.5 in the properties sheet of the driver when viewed via the Device Manager); the 83wa20ww Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation package ( version 4.0.0020); and the 83gp31ww ThinkVantage GPS package (version 2.72). I'm running Access Connections 5.84 (build 83c755ww), which I believe is the current release.  I have placed a SIM card in the slot in the back of the computer, and when I launch the Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation, it shows all the appropriate information (IMEI, ICCID, etc.) for the SIM card... If AT&T truly have that WWAN card locked, you have to either find a way to unlock it, or buy an unlocked WWAN card (best bought from Lenovo if you don't want to hack the BIOS). ThinkPad users have unlocked other WWAN cards with DC-unlocker. They don't list this Ericsson card so I would ask.

I bought my t500 when it was few months old and I have been using it over a year. Yesterday I decided to remove intel turbo memory chip, because after installing a SSD it was really slowing down boot time. So I took a look into a HW maintenance guide, took a screwdriver and opened the computer. And then, what a suprise: I found an ericsson F3507g card installed. I didn't know I had one, because it never showed in device manager. I'm using win7 64bit.I tried installing drivers, etc., but keep geting the same error: Mobile broadband device not found.Windows simply doesn't find it. Any ideas?

Hiya, First post so I hope somebody can help a newbie? I have got a Lenovo ThinkPad X301 running Win XP Pro SP3 fully patched and all Lenovo system updates run. All very well and good although I have a none-disruptive yet very annoying issue in that the notebook constantly sounds the usb connect/disconnect noise (de dum - der dum). I have found the problem to be the Ericsson Mobile Internet device as in Device manager this comes up and disappears in tandum with the noise. I have unistalled/reinstalled the device, disabled/renabled, updated the drivers, manually installed the drivers ect ect but nothing I seem to do resolves the problem. Is there anybody else out there who has experienced this issue or knows how to fix it? I have logged a warranty support call with Lenovo but they suggested I remove the device - useless! Yours hopefully,Iain

Answer:X301 - Issue with Ericsson F3507G

Can you tell me when the USB connect/disconnect sound started? Was it after you updated windows or drivers? Was there some other event that you can tie the start of this behavior to? If it was from the first day you booted the system, before all your updates with the original factory image, then I'd suspect it's either a bad WWAN module or some issue with the motherboard WWAN connector. Narrowing this down to either software or hardware first will help. BTW, I'm not in the Lenovo's service / support organization, just trying to help out here.

Whether or not they will ship to your country depends on how reliable are you and your ebay feedback ratings. What lenovo model do you have as not all cards are acceptable, especially if they are locked to certain countries.

I have a SL500 (2746-78G) that was delivered with a 3 month option on free use of a wireless WAN connection. Ericsson F3507g. Operating system Windows XP. I did not prolong the trial period. The problem is that the pc is not stable on whether the card is connected or not. The device manager will list the item for 5-10 sec and then it is invincible for another 5-10 sec. I have updated drivers and I have uninstalled the item without success.  XP insists on reconnection when powered on.   Anybody experienced the same?

Hi There, I have just received my T410s complete with E// WWAN card and I cannot seem to get windows 7 to recognise it.  Lights on laptop are showing that unit is powered up noting showing in connections. Sometimes when I boot I get error telling me remove WWAN as it is not compatible which is strange.  I have downloaded all the drivers but I think main issue is Windows doesnt see it. I see people have solved with Unix but what about just when windows is installed?? Help would be appreciated!!

Answer:Ericsson F3507G not recognised by Windows 7 on my T410s

Open the access cover on the bottom and reseat the Ericsson card (if you are comfortable with that). The boot error tells me that there may be an issue with the card itself which may need to be replaced under warranty.

Hi All, I would like to highlight that drivers for WWAN fro Windows 7 arent working properly. I have T400s with WWAN Ericsson F3507g, 3G broadband is working fine, only GPS isnt working at all. When I open GPS enabler all the time I have stallite acquisition in progress and all values are N/A. Also Garmin Mobile PC isnt able to recognise this GPS. I have tried with preinstalled Windows 7 pro 32 bit, and also with Windows 7 ultimate 32 and 64 bit - always the same GPS not working at all. After that installed Vista as a test, here GPS is working fine also Garmin is able to operate with it. When Vista drivers are installed in Windows 7 GPS seems to be working but after that wifi profiles in Access connections arent working properly. All tests were made at the same time (5 minutes) at the same place, so GPS signal was good and conditions were same for Vista and also for Windows 7. So Lenovo team please fix this problem with GPS drivers for WIN7. Thank you, David

Hi all, I was using my X200T with Vodafone 3G broadband fine until last week... I had a play around with the AT command set of the Ericsson card and since have been unable to connect to VF internet on any computer. Is there a way to do a hard reset on the WWAN card? If not is there any way I can send the correct credentials back to the SIM card so I can surf the net again? Thanks, James

Answer:X200T and Ericsson F3507G WWAN card

Hi James Try taking your sim card out of the PC, and place it into a 3G mobile phone, and see if you can browse a web page. You will need to configure the mobile phone internet settings (eg APN) for the Vodaphone network. I have been looking at the AT commands over the weekend and I doubt there is anything you have done to permanently change the settings on the modem that will prevent you accessing the internet. However I am not an expert with the AT commands, and I may be wrong. Is there a pin number on the sim card? Did you inadventely put a pin on the sim card when you were playing with the AT commands? You can check if there is a pin number when you place the sim card into your mobile. Hope this helps. Regards Mark

In my case the Ericsson f3507g doesn't appear after Sleep mode under Windows Vista 32bit. Before Sleep mode ist appears in "Fn+F5" list and in Windows device manager. Then I bring the Thinkpad to Sleep by pressing "Fn+F4". After wakeup by "Fn" key the Ericsson f3507g doesn't appear anymore. There is no difference if a connection is established or the device is in standby mode before sleep. When I reboot the computer it is there again, but for mobile usage I really need the sleep mode to extend the battery time. All Windows Updates are installed and I tried with the Lenovo system update, but everything is up to date. The only thing is, that "Windows Vista update modul KB948278 32bit" is not installed and installation fails every time. It seems to me that could be the reason for the behavior. So I tried to request the hotfix from Microsoft directly ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948278/en-us/ ) and I got the "Windows6.0-KB948278-v2-x86.msu".But installation fails with message: "Das Update gilt nicht für Ihr System" ( "The update is not valid for your system") Somebody any ideas?

I've done everything and I can't make it work in Windows 7, although it works on Windows XP.
I've already upgraded the modem firmware to the latest R1D06 (I had to downgrade to XP to do it, because in windows 7 the upgrade program notices "No module find".
I've installed the latest win 7 32 drivers from toshiba, as well as the latest Wireless Manager (R2V2)
What happens is the as follows. I start Wireless Manager, and it asks for the SIM PIN. After I insert the SIM PIN the icon "success" appears. After some seconds of that "Success" icon the "The mobile broadband device is not found" icon appears briefly, and then the "Initializing the mobile brodband device" animation shows up... After that the PIN request page comes again... if i insert the PIN, again I'll have the same story...
Can anyone please help me, as this is driving me nuts?

Hi buddy,

That?s really strange story... I have tested the 3G modem with Windows 7 and drivers from Toshiba page. In my case it works properly, I don?t have any problems.
The only problem I had is that SIM Card was not recognized but the solution was a simple restart.

Do you have another SIM card that you can test? Maybe the SIM card isn?t working properly and testing another one would be worth a try. ;)

Hello I have one huge problem with my new S10 with win XP, model 4329-2RG.First and the most biggest problem is that I can't get work ericsson F3507g modem (ver. Other computer right next to mine, shows 11 present wifi locations, my S10 shows only 3, sometimes 4. And it's not only because of signal strength, because my computer does not find my own network what is few meters from the computer. What to do? how to solve the problem...

A lot of posts on this topic... Context:fresh Win7 x64 install on Thinkpad X301 4057-WBR. All downloads & drivers applied. All devices visible and working properly according to device manager. All prereqs for AT&T WWAN HSPA driver installed, except KB948278 as this is a patch for Vista - not Win7. Problem:Fn+F5 shows WIFI and BLUETOOTH but not WWAN radio. Immediately after reinstalling hotkey driver, or chipset driver, WWAN radio is visible and powered off. Pressing Power on does nothing. Press Fn+F5 again and WWAN radio is gone. Conclusion: unable to power on Ericsson F3507G device when running Win7 x64. Device was working perfectly under Vista. A patch is urgently needed - I'm sure I'm not alone on this one. Reading other posts on same topic:- BIOS reset to defaults does nothing. All ports/devices are already enabled.- Installing Ericsson MD400 modem driver which includes Wireless Manager does nothing. Device not detected. Seriously, this is the only reason I got this laptop to begin with - and now it's the only thing not working.

Hi, Can anybody confirm if this modem should work with an S430? http://www.ebay.com/itm/251193670010 If not, which one? Thanks!

If I helped you, please give me some kudos! ^^

Answer:ThinkPad Edge S430 WWAN: Ericsson F3507G?

Hey there CharlyAR,

Looking over some different specs and resources I found that specific modem you were looking may have been found on some models, like SL300, W500,T400, X200. It is important to note that some BIOS versions have whitelist restrictions of WWAN cards may work with the machine. Currently, the following two cards are compatible with S430.

According to the PSRef for the S430, it was offered with the option for the following WWAN card:

Wireless WAN, Ericsson H5321gw Mobile Broadband Module, PCIe Half Mini Card, GPRS/WCDMA/HSPA/HSPA+, ...

An additional option for you may be the ThinkPad GOBI 3000 PCI-e WWAN card, Lenovo Part Number 60Y3257.

Both of these options should work and be compatble with your S430. Good Luck and hope this helps you.

I have an X200T which was shipped with a Vista Business 64bit preload. The PC has a Ericsson F3507G WWAN card installed. Under Windows Vista I can successfuly connect to the internet with Virgin Mobile Broadband. I have recently upgraded the system to Windows 7, and have installed the Windows 7 drivers for the Ericsson F3507G, along with version 5.42 of Lenovo Access Connections, and the required Power Manager software and the Hot Key drivers. Access connections can sucessfully detect the WWAN card, and it can pick up the 3G Mobile Network (it picks the network up as "Yes Optus" rather then "Virgin Mobile"). However when I attempt to connect to the Network, I get an error stating the service provider cannot be found. All my network settings such as APN are correct. I tried removing the Windows 7 drivers, and replaced them with the Windows Vista Drivers. When the Windows Vista Drivers are used, Access Connections picks up the mobile network as "Virgin Mobile", and I can sucessfully establish a connection to internet. Just to note Virgin Mobile uses the Optus Network in Australia. I have come to the conclusion there is something wrong with the Windows 7 drivers for the Ericsson F3507G device, or there is some obscure setting which needs to be changed. Does anyone else have a similar experience, or can offer and further insight into this problem? Regards Mark

Answer:Windows 7 Ericsson F3507G WWAN Driver Problems

Yes, had exact same problem, found another email thread suggesting installing older WWAN driver http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/7uwc47ww.exe which fixed it, but it was a pain, had to uninstall the newer WWAN driver, plug into internet by cable (so nothing running with access connections), install (with the cable-connected internet so it could download driver) and now it is running I hope somebody can tell lenovo to fix this stuff!!! (Here is the messages which got me going:  http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums/replypage/board-id/X_Series_Tablet_ThinkPads/message-id/6684 )

Hi,I purchased a n Ericsson f3507g WWAN card online and am getting a 1804 error. I have reviewed numerous posts online and just wanted to check if anyone has the "updated" BIOS for the W510 to enable the laptop to boot without checking the whitelist, or where this device has already been added to a custom BIOS?I see there are already fix's out for the W500 however nothing for the W510. Any help appreciated.

Answer:W510 1804 Unauthorised WWAN (Ericsson f3507g)

If your card doesn't carry a FRU number, i.e. is not a Lenovo part, I'm pretty sure that you'll have to do the whitelist hack to be able to use the card.

I have a T400 with an Ericsson WWAN card and AT&T Wireless service.  I'm using the AT&T Connection Manager dial client.  I'm using the latest drivers off the Lenovo support site (Package Version: 1.0.1046.221 | Driver Version: 4.50.6.0).  The ride is less than smooth.  I sit in the same place every day, but the experience varies.  I sometimes get a 2G connection, sometimes 3G and sometimes it will switch between the two during a session.  I have session drops and connection failures:633 (drivers for your wireless device are not functioning properly or some other program is locking the device) 634 (unexpected error has occurred while connecting to a GSM network)Various PPP failures I'm usually able to resolve the connection errors by toggling disable / enable on the card, the modem or both, but sometimes a re-boot (with a little SIM card jiggling) is req'd to re-connection.  Naturally, when I call AT&T, they say all is well on their network and the base station I'm hanging off of. All in all, less than stellar and can be a real productivity drain.  If anyone is having (or, better yet, has had) issues like this and may have some tips, love to hear about them.

Answer:T400 + Ericsson F3507g WWAN Card + AT&T = Kinda Flakey

I have quite a bit of issues also with the Ericsson WWAN card. Oddly, it was attributed to my display. It seemed that my display was on a refresh rate of 50Hz and changing the frequency to 60Hz resolved most of my issues. I have no idea how they were related but somehow it affects the WWAN connection in some way.

Hi everyone! I have some problems with my new Lenovo T400. Basic information:Location: FinlandOperating system: Xp Sp3GSM operator: SaunalahtiAccess Connections: V. 5.00Ericsson f3507g driver: V. 4.48.0.0  So, here is my problem. I can connect to the internet using GPRS connection, but not with HSDPA. When i choose "Only 3G" Access Connections tells that connection is OK, but actually the computer won't go to the internet. Can anyone give some advices what to do?Ask if you don't understand something I wrote! Thanks!

Answer:Problems with Ericsson f3507g. GPRS works, HSDPA doesn't.

GSM operator: Saunalahti

As far as I can tell, Elisa - the network provider for Saunalahti - uses the 900MHz band for its WCDMA 3G service.

The Ericsson f3507g card supports the 850MHz/1900MHz/2100MHz bands for WCDMA operation, so it will not work with a 3G network in the 900MHz band.

You will only be able to use the GPRS capabilities of the card, which do support 900MHz operation.

Cheers,

Hi, We use our own customized images, which we setup using sysprep, therefore all drivers need to be installed unatended. Unusually for Lenovo I couldn't find any instructions to install this device unatended. By running msiexec /a setup32.exe I managed to extract the drivers from the install pack. However if they are installed unattended I always get a code 10 error in device manager. I checked the driver files and they are the same that I would get with an interactive install. The error does not appear if I install the drivers interactively. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know why, when I stop using my installed WAN card, the event log gets filled up with an error:Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 028037EC0222.  The following error occurred:The semaphore timeout period has expired.. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server. I don't know if this starts right away, or only after resuming from sleep after having used the card and then turned it off. This gets logged every 6 minutes, even though, under Network Connections, it shows that this Device status is "Network Cable Unplugged".  Why would DHCP be attempting a connection via an adapter in this status?  Is this a Vista issue? or a NIC Driver issue?  I have the latest updates for Vista Ultimate.  Any suggestions or comments appreciated!

Hi all, My Thinkpad model is T500 2055-A81 + WWAN modul installed 4 weeks ago. Today I found an issue with the "Ericsson f3507g" WWAN modul. It worked fine under Vista32. With  Fn+F5 it was turned on and with the "MWconn" software I was able to connect to my provider. The LED for WWAN worked fine too. I used it several times, on different days. Now the modul isn't anymore in the Hardware list of Vista and with Fn+F5 only WLAN and Bluetooth are provided. The LED stays off all the time. I didn't run any Update from Lenovo in between, just the Windows patches. I tried to Update everything via LenovoUpdate, so everything it's the newest version now.But still it doesn't work. No Enty in Windows device list and no WWAN in Fn+F5 popup menu.   When I boot my second operating system Ubuntu 9.04, the WWAN module is detected, I'm able to connect to my provider and surf in the web. So the hardware works fine in the system. It'is just not detected under Vista. How can I make it running again in Vista? Thanks a lot! Schm1tty

Click on Start, then type cmd and hit enter.  Type ipconfig /all.  Under the entry for your wireless connection, does it say "Media disconnected"?

I am having big problems getting an f3507g mobile broadband card working on a T500 running XP Pro. Have had problems with several machines all supplied in the same batch and it turns out that the BIOS needs to be reset to defaults post installation of the card for it to be properly recognised by the OS. Anyway, all machines are now fixed with the exception of one.... Everything looks okay on the surface - the F3507g card is showing under Device Manager, just to be sure I've reinstalled Access Connections and loaded drivers for the card.  I know that the driver install was successful because it pinged up with the standard driver install success message - 'Windows found new hardware...' about half a dozen times immediately following the install.  Having done the driver install I attempted connection and the CA Internet Security Suite Firewall popped up asking whether I wanted to accept the device as a 'Safe' device - clicked yes to that. However, attempting connection never works  I've tried enabling logging and the log file produced together with a fault report is here. I have tried the SIM card under test in another machine and it works. I have also swapped the HDD out of another identical brand new machine and it works with the hardware including the Ericsson card - so the issue has to be software related... I could reimage but the user will loose some graphic design application software which is... I've got the Ericsson F3507g WWAN card, latest bios, and latest drivers all installed, but whenever I install the f3507g card (and I've quadruple checked that its physically installed corretcly/etc), it goes into a "device plugged in, unplugged" loop. What I mean is you can hear Vista play the sound of "device plugged in" shortly followed by a "device unplugged sound". Device manager also goes spaz, showing the device for barely a second before it unplugs itself. When it does show up, it correclty shows up as an Ericsson f3507g card, but doesn't last long enough for any software to actually do anything with it. any ideas?(Vista x64, Ultimate w/sp2, all drivers/etc up to date using TVSU, 3g sim card also inserted)

Answer:T400 + Ericsson F3507g WWAN Card Device unplugged loop?

There are several Mini-PCI Express slots in the system, so make sure you've got the card in the right one.
Should be in the one on the left of the system under the silver little tray thing that flips up.

You can check it in the Hardware Maintenance Manual.

You can also try reloading the BIOS settings (In the BIOS, F9, then F10) and see if that helps.

Two suggestions.
1.  Make sure the driver is up to date.
2. Try reloading the BIOS defaults (Press F1 at boot, then once in BIOS, press F9 then F10)

Hello,First of all the X200T is a fantastic device! Love it. Had the Dell XT... horror!I bought the WAN HSDPA add on in the Netherlands. I cannot get it to communicate with Vodafone. When I use the dial up of Vista it works fine! But then I have to manually stopt the LAN and activate the WAN. Then go to the dial up and dial in. Also the extended features like service time use etc. do not work. I really need Access Connections to start communicating right. The card is ok and the driver should be fine because with Vista dial up there is no problem. All settings in AC are correct. office.vodafone.nl and user: vodafone password: vodafone. It still gives a wrong password message. I called vodafone and they confirmed that they get a wrong login at their end. I recently was in Germany and tried it with the German settings. Same error. Strange. I have the latest AC = 5.12 and the latest WAN drivers from the Lenovo site. I found that in the AC program folder there is a vodafone.dll and vodafoneV2.dll. I am guessing these are the trouble makers? I hope there is somebody who got it working and provides me the right AC files. ---------------------------------------------------------------- BTW: there is also GPS in the internal WAN card. you can activate it with GPS enabler. Folks I seem to have the correct drivers for the card but when I try to enable them I get a blue screen every time with the error BAD_POOL_CALLER.  This is now happening every time Windows starts as it tries to load the new drivers. Does anyone know if the card is supported under Windows 2008 Server 64 bit and if so, how do I get it working? Regards Simon(UK)

After installing Win7 Professional on my S10-3, the F3607gw Mobile Broadband GPS Port (COM5) is marked with a yellow exclamation sign in Device Manager stating: "Device Cannot Start (Code 10). This happens on a fresh installed Win7 Professional. However if I reinstall my S10-3 from the recovery partition to Win7 Starter, all is fine and no yellow exclamation marks appear. The same drivers and versions appear to be installed with Win7 Professional as with Win7 Starter. Any ideas?

Hello, I've got a UMTS SIM-card which is also a cellphone SIM-card for my thinkpad. Now I've seen that I can send/receive SMS with it, but I haven't seen a option to phone with it. The last two days I searched for a software to do so, but I only found a software named "Mobile Partner" created by Huawei Technologies. But it is about other UMTS modems than I have. I would really like such a feature for thinkpads. The modelnumber of my Thinkpad T500 is 2082-52G.OS: Windows Vista Business 32bit (German) Thanks for reading,Daniel

That seems a little steep...
Anyone know of a similar application that has a more reasonable price?

Hello All,

As we are all aware by now that we did not receive what we thought we were purchasing (GOBI) as far as mobile access is concerned (not to mention being told that the memory and SSD were upgradeable at time of purchase - before the month+ delays)...

Does anyone know EXACTLY what provider will work with the X1 Carbon's H5321gw PCIe card? I have read on various boards that AT&T is the only provider - but I find it hard to believe that Lenovo would limit this - given the current quality/service issues.

Any ideas? THANKS!

I have a W850i and Ive been using it for around 4 mths. What I'm wanting is to save my texts to the pc.

I've tried the software that came with the phone, no joy. A sim reader just reads the saved messages which appear to be the only ones on the sim and it'll only take 20 messages.

It cannot be impossible. If it's easier, how about simply saving my messages to the 1GB memory stick?

Can someone point me in the right direction?
