Preferred Solution: what is Nvidia riva tnt2 model 64 latest driver?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm searching for the latest driver for my husband's graphics card which is:
nVidia riva tnt2 model 64

His OS is win98, and he has dirX 9.0.C. I'm TERRIBLE at finding drivers and I was hoping someone might know how to locate this driver. I've been to the site, but as I said, I'm not very knowledgable about drivers, and I ended up very unsure as to what the latest driver for this would be.

Any help would be very appreciated!
Thanks much in advance!

Trying to reinstall XP on a machine that was WinME.
Everything went smooth, except the colors are way off.
I tried an update via control panel-display-adapters, and it says it's working fine.

I have a nvidia riva tnt2 model 64/model 64 pro pci bus videocard.
The other day I bought the follow up of MOH (sorry forgot the name because returning it to the store)but ofcource you already see the problem rightaway:error log file of the game told me the card was missing out on some functions. Can this card be updated so "heavy duty games won't be a problem in the future?(il2/fb-wolvenstein-cfs2 run good though!)

Thanx for listening!

Answer:nvidia riva tnt2 model 64/model 64 pro update wanted can get the latest drivers for the card, but it won't help that much, because it's a TNT2...and PCI....

If you wanted to play newer games, you'd have to get a new video card....but if you're running a PCI video card right now, then it may not be worth it...check if you have an AGP slot, is should be above the PCI slots on the motherboard, and slightly offset from them...if you have an AGP slot, then that's good, because you could get a good video card...but if you don't, you'll probably be better off getting a whole new system rather than just upgrading the video.

I have the Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 / Model 64 pro video card and i want to install a game but the video card has to be in 256 color mode and in Windows i can only go to 32 bit what can i do? Any comments or posts would be great! Thank YOU!

Answer:Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 / Model 64 pro Problem?

Just to be clear, 32-bit is actually 16,777,216 colors, so its much more then 256 which is just 256 colors. So for 256 you need to lower the color depth not increase it.

I have an NVIDIA Riva TNT2 model 64/model 64 pro adapter version installed in my computer. Operating system of my computer is XP professional SP2. It won't load. Tried reinstalling it via the Add/Remove hardware menu still no lack. Tried updating the driver still no lack. Driver might be corrupted. Where can I get free copy of this driver so i can replace the corrupted one? The NVIDIA site provides for a higher version. Will this be alright to use as a replacement driver?

I recently reformatted my computer's harddrive, and I've been working on getting everything back to it's normal working order. I'm having issues with my video card. It should be installed correctly, I haven't taken it out at all, and it worked a while before the reformat. I think I have the correct driver installed (This one).

But when I plug the monitor into the video card's plug, the monitor won't show anything, it's just blank with the little light, normally green, glowing orange. When I go to the System Information, the only video card that shows up is the one on the motherboard.

Am I using the correct driver? Any other possible solutions?

Answer:nVidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 issues

G'day Redalert95, I gather you have onboard video and that is working but your card is not. It is not a good idea to plug video leads if the machine is running, it could quite easily kill something.
It is possible that you may need to disable the onboard video in BIOS to allow the daughter card to operate.
This makes it odd that it may have changed from previous settings which were apparently working OK.
If this might be correct it may be pertinent to replace the battery at this time before going any further.
Your board manual BIOS settings should help determine what is happening. In some machines if you plug in a video card the onboard is automatically disabled, but your note does not infer this to be the case, therefore it seems you are going to have to carefully follow the BIOS set instructons in the manual. You likely have an onboard enable somewhere. The LED showing orange instead of green simply indicates no information is being received by the monitor.
You should not need any driver to be loaded to give your card operation for the monitor to operate in a basic mode.
The proper driver will only give the thing all the colours and abilities you are used to normally seeing.
Be extremely careful and ensure the power lead is removed anytime you plug items like cards, and ensure your follow antistatic rules.
Cheers, qldit.

I continue to get intermittent screen messages that I have a problem with my Nvidia graphics driver, occasionally causing shut downs and generating error messages to microsoft.
Although possibly completely unrelated, I also find that my computer shuts down on its own if left alone about 30 minutes, and when turned back on, goes through an odd reboot on its own whcih returns me to where I was before leaving.
The microsoft proposed solution is to download a new driver off the Nvidia website though they also say Nvidia has no solution to the problem. When I go to the Nvidia website, I can find a downloadable driver for XP. ( , though the instructions request me to:
1- disable download accelerator utilities ( How do I find if I have any? I recall loading one at one time, but can't remember if it was on this computer, or find anything suggesting this on my start menu)
2-turn off my virus protection- can do
3- remove Nvidia display drivers from the control panel using the add/remove function.- I can't find any. However, I do find reference to them in my systems folder listing a TNT2 nmodel V dated 4/7/04. It seems odd that I have a listing in the latter, but not in the former. It also seems odd that they would request the removal of the old one first. Will my monitor work if its removed??
Thanks for any assistance

Right, so I have a Creative Model CT6980 Graphics Card otherwise known as a TNT2 nVIDIA RIVA M64/32MB, but I cannot find a good XP driver for it. There seem to be massive problems with TNT2 nVIDIA RIVA M64 driver such as making the system fail to recognise the card, a bit of a problem, and as I am working on someone elses system I am under orders not to destroy it. Therefore does anyone know of a low risk XP driver that would do for this card?

Answer:CT6980 or TNT2 nVidia Riva Driver Badly needed

Try this site: Requires registration w/ a valid email address but it's free and you get a certain number of free downloads a month... in the meantime, I'll do some more research. If you can't find anything at driverguide, I'll post a link here.... GOOD LUCK!!!! You should find what you need at driverguide.

Question: RIVA TNT2 Model 64

Memory Frequency GPU : 125.01 MHz
GPU Frequency : 125.01 MHz

Is this the standerd Frequency for a

RIVA TNT2 Model 64

Answer:RIVA TNT2 Model 64

125/150 (core and memory frequency, respectively) is usually the standard for a TNT2 M64. Examine the memory chips carefully; these can be the key to why the memory is set lower than normal (usually, look for special numbers for the memory cycle time, e.g. a "70" might indicate a cycle time of 7ns, which equates to a default frequency of 143 MHz).

I'm putting a new motherboard in my PC (Asrock p4v88) and in the instructions for the board is a note (do not use a 3.3v AGP on the AGP slot of this board). I hope to fit my old video card into the new mthbrd, it is a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 64 PRO. I haven't a clue what the voltage is of my video card. Can I fit this old card in or do I go out and purchase a new video card of a known voltage?

Thank you
Donald Ashton

Answer:Need The Voltage Of My Nvidia Riva Tnt2 64 Pro

I don't recommend using that card in that machine. Not only is there a risk of it damaging the slot, it's also an incredibly old and slow card, if your new motherboard has onboard video it is likely faster than that TNT2-M64.

i can't even bet a boot with a nvidia riva tnt2 model 64 w/8mb ram on a MainBoard TXpro-II or a knock-off replica thereof. funny thing is: the card workes fine in another comp with a diff mobo (this one, a spearfish with a xeon 450 pentium 2) and to add to insult, a couple of old junk video cards WILL work in the TX-proII. i also have an Aopen socket 7 mobo i could use for this system but the exact same story applies: the junk video cards work in it but not the tnt2 card which i just bought. by junk video cards i mean they have bad memory chips on them and they have garbage mixed in the on-screen display which makes them kind of useless except for getting a system to boot at all. if it matters they both have S3virge chips on them. running win98 fully updated with ie 5.5 also fully updated. have the latest nvidia drivers avail but of course haven't gotten that far. i did, however remove all the old drivers from device manager and found no nVidia references in the registry to delete at all. any clues would be highly appreciated. thanx, JL

If you try to install and use the 71.84, 71.89, or newer versions, they will NOT install. I have done some experimenting and have confirmed this.

Hello Experts,

I have purchased a Graphic card PALIT DAYTONA nVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64.

I am going to install it in GIGABYTE P4 Titan GA-8IRX, REV: 2.0, DDR RAM, motherboard. This motherboard support only AGP 4x (1.5V) card due to Intel 845 chipset cant support AGP 2x(3.3V).

nVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64 card has a jumper port JP1 which is open. Is it AGP 4x mode by default? Or I have to set jumper to make it AGP 4x.

Please suggest me how I install the card in the above-mentioned main board. I am waiting for your advice soonest possible.

Thank you.

I have a problem with Direct draw. whenever i try to test direct draw thru dxdiag, my screen flickers a few times and the my computer hangs. I have now diabled direct draw acceleration. I have tried the latest Nvidia Detonator xp drivers (2.1.83) as well as the default drivers that came with xp. There is still no difference.

I could use direct draw and direct 3d with the same hardware setup on my previous system, Win ME. All the directx games ran fine there.

There is a problem with your display settings. The adapter type is incorrect or the current settings do not work with your hardware.

Any suggestions?

If my memory serves me right, I fixed the problem one time by going into Display Props/Settings/Advanced and changing the display adapter. I had to show Windows exactly where the one was, that I wanted to use. It was with a S3 Savage card but maybe it'll work the same with your Nvidia.

Couldn't find a quick answer to this but if the "old" machine runs okay as it is then it should have no problem with the TNT2 card. They are a pretty old card and were designed for the machines of the day which (by today's standards) were pretty slow and didn't need a huge amount of power to get them going. I assume the "old" machine has a AGP slot to fit the card into?

the beauty of NVidia cards are they only need "One Driver to Rule Them All" meaning the detonator drivers on the website are capable of supporting even the older Riva 128 to the Riva TNT to TNT2 up to the smooth power of GeForce 3! pretty cool and convenient huh? anyway here is the URL for the latest detonator drivers.

I have a PCI [not PCI express not AGP] Nvidia TNT2 card and need it to work in a dell dimension, Windows XP Home Edition.
I did what anyone would do... installed it, went to Nvidia site, looked up the right family [TNT2] for the OS, and downloaded this MONSTROUS 40MB file. When I run the install program it simply says "did not detect any appropriate hardware" and shuts down. The card does come up with the correct ID at boot time [correctly identifies what it is] and, with windows in SAFE MODE, the display is driven off the Card, not the onboard. The Windows OS again correctly shows the card in the Device manager [no bangs... calls it by the right names etc.]. So all that looks good, but absent the real NVIDIA drivers, when I boot into normal Windows XP, not safe-mode, it acts as though it is a two monitor rig. and unfortunately, the display from the nvidia card seems to be the #2 display, thus not exactly usable. Then I go to reboot, and the next time, it will not even display to the monitor once windows XP boots. very frustrating.

I NOTE that the Dell Dimension 3100 bios does NOT allow the option of shutting off the onboard. it only gives two choices "onboard" or "Auto".

So, anyone have a clue what's going on here?

I am trying to get this Yoga 14 up to date.  First, I was surprised that runs Windows 10 home vs. pro but that is what it is. However here is my question. The bios on the unit as shipped is 1.2 and is from the JFET43WW family. The latest bios listed is 1.3 from the R05ETxxW family (per the readme) and the filename is r05uj03ww.  Perhaps this is Lenovo's way, but all the prior bios history for that family is under JFETxxWW. Is this the right bios? The latest NIVIDA/Intel driver listed states that " *This driver can be only used on ThinkPad S3 Yoga 14 Broadwell(BIOS ID:JFETxxWW)". So.....can the latest video driver be used with the latest bios which per the readme (and filename) is NOT from the JFETxxWW family? Hopefully I am posting in the right place.  I have been underwhelmed with phone support where "hardware" support will only answer hardware questions and "software support" is "premium" and they want you to pay when this system is only a week old.  Not sure where else to go for answers.  Also have issues with expresscache as....well..they shipped it with windows 10 and with an SSD and no expresscache.  But that is another post.... Thanks, BJB

Answer:Yoga 14 latest NVIDIA driver not compatible with latest 1.3 bios?

Exactly which ThinkPad Yoga 14 do you own please; 20DM, 20DN or 20FY? There are some different BIOS versions depending on which model you have and this may also have a bearing on other components.

I have a late 2012 model Z580 with an Optimus GPU setup: an nVidia 640M plus Intel HD 4000. I switch regularly between them using the "Power management options" tool depending on whether I am traveling or whether I am playing games at home. Recently I've noticed more graphical artefacts and driver-related problems with recent games, but that's because I'm using very old (17 April 2012) Optimus drivers from the Lenovo website. I see these have not been updated since I bought the laptop over a year ago. So when the nVidia control panel icon keeps flashing up a reminder to upgrade my Optimus driver, I am tempted to update it. It would no doubt fix the graphic problems I'm experiencing in games. However, I've been told by some that I should only ever use the official Lenovo Optimus drivers or I risk breaking the ability to switch between the Intel HD 4000 and the nVidia 640M. Others claim that is nonsense and it should work fine. Obviously I'm reticent to stuff things up, so could someone here please give me a straight answer? Can I use the latest nVidia Optimus drivers that are compatible with the Z580? I'd appreciate any help or advice.

hi, ive recently had problems using our family computer to play warcraft III, so updated the drivers to 41.09.(the only detonator drivers i had on some free magazine cd) the game worked ok, once, but the pc fails to load up windows now, apart from in safe mode. Ive had to again downgrade the drivers, this means the pc works for general purpose but the games wont work !ive tried both the new forceware 66.94, and 78.?? (the latest 2) but allthough they are supposed to be compatable, then are not. i cant find anything about 3dpower on the net, and the card came allready in the pc. I hope you can tell me (and preferably direct me to) the latest compatable drivers for this card.

Thanks in advance.

A lot of Nvidia drivers here to try.... I do remember the 44.03 WHQL drivers being good

its also maybe well worth running this driver cleaner program to remove any left over parts before installing again

can / has anyone here know of a fix ???

what has happened and what i have done todate

tried to load w2k pro with tnt 2 card in no joy passed install s/w saying setup is installing windows 2000 (or something like that).

pulled card out installed via onboard video card (install a snap).

thought id try again to get tnt 2 card to work now w2k was installed.
put card into pci slot #3 auto detect found it upon startup all is fine.

checked driver (default MS driver).

restarted pc, turned onboard video option off, pc starts again starts good.

Goes no further than the windows 2000 screen with @ 18 blue dashes that go across a wee bar. system just sits there.

turn pc off and on.

on initial start bar (B&W) i press F8 select safe mode with network (not that i have a network connected) stops at same place.

again turn off / on pc and change the onboard video card to active.

pc starts win2k starts fine look the net for newer drivers.

got 2 drivers ( called something like ) 66.3 and the other 44.3 (these are the directory names created under Nvidia).

loaded each on in turn same problem as outlined above for both.

from research the card is supported but cannot get the bl**d thing to go.

also tried the card in slots 1 & 2 same results no go with tnt 2 goes with onboard card.

Have the people who tried out the latest nvidia driver (91.31) had any problems ? I'm looking into updating the drivers on several PCs so I wanna be sure to install the right thing so I don't have to redo everything all over again.

So are there any problems with that driver ? If yes then whats the newest but most stable driver to use ?

Answer:The latest nvidia driver ?

With video drivers, I always wait a couple of months. Those who rush in first, get to do all the trouble-shooting, for those of us who wait.
A quick scan of the nVidia Forums, would indicate that there are problems with the 91.31 set. So, if everything is working for you now, waiting a while longer, is my best advice.

Hm...First I must say sorry for my bad English.

My problem is: I look in the nvidia-systemcontrol, to check which force-Ware- Version I have. There I can see, the Version 156.64 is installed. But Nvidia published already the Version 169.25, which is a Beta version, but I really want to install it, because it should make the game "Crysis" much faster and looking better.

But I don't find this version here on Toshiba, and when I try to download it from another source, then my system says "the setup-program couldn't find any drivers who are compatible with my hardware." and then the setup is finished.

-How could I install this Driver-Version (which is the newest, I think)?
-What is the reason why the setup is cancelled every time, and how could I avoid this?
-Do anyone of you know, when Toshiba updates driver-downloads, and why am I downloading this file with only 4kbit/s? Is this caused by my DSL or by the Toshiba- Server?

Hello everyone that happens to read this,
First of all, PC specs:

GPU: GigaByte GTX950 Windforce
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)i3-4160 @3.60GHz
Motherboard: MSI H81M-E34
OS: Windows 8.1 64bit
Ever since I've installed the new Nvidia driver (361.43), my gaming experience has been horrible. Where I would normally get a fps count of +/- 100fps, I now get 20fps at best. I couldn't find anything out of the order mechanically (not that it was probably the cause of this), I've rerolled my older driver and I've reset my driver in its entirety using DDU program from Wagnard. All of this got me no improved results.
Can anyone identify this problem (because I can't), and if so, give advice on what to do or an solution?
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Underpreformance of GPU with latest Nvidia Driver

That did not change anything sadly.

btw my display driver right now is nvidia geforce 7100 / nforce 630i... thanks!

Answer:Latest Nvidia Driver for T61 not accepted by Win XP

As I understand the problem, you need to re-install the nVidia driver, but you can't. " I cannot get into the Lenovo website through the main page." It's been my experience that parts of the Lenovo website "go to sleep" from time to time, and then later they become available.  Perhaps you just need to try again later. You also might try another internet browser, or even try to download the needed driver using another computer, then move it to this machine and install it. Centex

I have just installed Win 7 onto a partition on my machine:
? MoBo: ASUS P5N32-e SLi Bios Revision 1203
? Processor: Intel E6750 2.66 MHz
? Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8600GT
? Memory: 2 x 2048 Mb DDR2 PC2-5300 (333Mhz)
? Dual Monitors: 1680 x 1050 and 1280 x 1024
My system is dual boot - running Win XP & Win 7 very successfully.

When I try to change the resolution using the standard Win 7 drivers - the screens go black and I have to restore the OS (the system doesn't crash as such). When I install the latest nVidia Driver (191.07) the same thing happens - garbled screen for a few seconds then blackness (in fact the monitors show they are not receiving a signal)

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something else I need to upgrade or install first? Any help would be much appreciated.

If your PC is running fine then there is no need to upgrade. Often upgrades are related to other factors which may not be of any specific value to an individual. They may, sometimes, also cause problems in themselves.Old adage, " If it aint broke, don`t fix it".

Hello and Merry Christmas!

I was hoping for some help with drivers as I am SO not good at dealing with them.

Recently I transferred my old geforce4 card into my husband's computer and installed a new video card into mine because my comp had an agp slot and his didn't, and the new card was not a pci card.

When the old card was in my computer, I had the latest driver installed and it played the rts games that I liked to play with no problem. Now that I have installed it into my husband's comp, it has only the drivers that installed with the card. Since then, the hard drive on my computer has gone out and I lost the driver file that I had saved on my comp. (A VERY nice person had sent me the file, so I simply installed it and played my games happily)

Basically, when I today installed my games onto my husband's comp to play them, they won't play. They used to play on HIS computer with his old card (a terrible riva tnt2 something or another) and now won't play with the old card from MY computer (which isn't the greatest card, but it DID play most of my games fine). I would like to install the latest drivers, but I'm not sure which are the right/best ones.

Currently, the card is:
nvidia geforce4 mx 420
the driver is listed under dxdiag as:
version 4.14.0010.6176
Date: 7/12/04
WHQL logo'd- NO

Easiest solution is to roll back to the last driver that worked.

Also based on the age of those cards, the latest aren't going to offer much if anything in extra performance. With those cards I would only update if there is a specific fix for any issue you might be having.

I tested these "Verde 295.73 Drivers" this evening and found them to run smooth after an initial few seconds of laggy-choppy type reaction. My assessment is that these drivers aren't really an improvement compared to the 285.79 and indeed might run a tad slower IMO, if you are getting good performance out of the 285.79, I wouldn't bother with this update.I would try these drivers if like some who come here looking for driver help can't get their laptops running well when using the 285.79 drivers. I will keep on using these drivers for a day or two longer or until they make my GT 555M run unstable. After that point in time I will decide if I will keep them or not, based on my initial test I will most probably return back to the 285.79 drivers.I will repost about this subject in two days or if the drivers go AWOL. I would welcome feedback if anyone of you try these drivers, PLEASE REMEMBER TO CREATE A RESTORE POINT BEFORE UPDATING.

The 295.73 Drivers became more and more unstable the more I used them, it's a pity because the graphics are better with these drivers.

The latest display driver for your M2 on the Toshiba download site is version 46.44.

As you have found already, the drivers from the card manufacturers site do not usually load correctly in notebooks so you can usually only use the drivers from Toshiba.

You can get the Toshiba specific drivers here :-

I recently updated my graphics card drivers from 327.23 to 331.58 (and later to 331.65).

With each of the 331.xx drivers I get freezes while browsing (using Chrome 30.0.1599.101 m) or playing games (e.g. Batman Arkham Origins). When the freeze occours everything stands still (youtube videos, gameplay, ...) and the system is not responding (keyboard, mouse). Waiting another 30 seconds triggers a BSOD "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION" to appear after which the system reboots. This is not reproducable and seems to occour at random times.

One thing I can say for sure is that the BSOD only occours with 331.xx drivers - going back to older ones makes it disappear.

I'm currently in contact with NVidia support which is not really helpful... they don't seem to inspect the dumps I send them and ask me about hardware (what psu are you using or if my cables are connected...).

I would highly appreciate if someone could help me out... :<

PS: Changing back to older drivers would solve the freezes but I want the newer drivers for the added functions they offer (Shadowplay, Gamestream to Shield, ...).

Hello All,

So today I attempted to install the latest Nvidia Driver from their official website. While the installation process was being carried out my monitor went to sleep (no signal from the computer) and never came back, even though my pc was still running. So after waiting for a while I manually restarted the computer (power button) and booted in safe mode. Here I was met with a problem signature that included this information:

Problem Signature
Event Name: Blue Screen
OS Version 6.7601.
Locale ID:1033

Additional Info
BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA80105FA010
BCP2: FFFFF8800738D19C
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000002
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I also have a dump file in my minidump folder (062515-21091-01.dmp) but I couldn't figure out how to attach it.

Another strange thing is when I restarted windows normally after checking the problem dxdiag.exe and GeForce experience both say that the new 353.30 driver was installed correctly and is running. Thank you so much to anyone reading this and trying to help, let me know if you need any more information.

I'd like to know what the latest driver is for my graphics card. W7 has offered an update for it including loads of other stuff but it screwed up my display so I rolled back to the previous version, driver dated 19 July 2008, which is what I'm using now. Any help appreciated.

PS thread title should read 9600M GT, not MM GT

- so you won't face BSOD with errors freezing etc etc etc...god I hate these developers who get ton of $$ yet they produce errors, driver conflicts is some users reporting link. I personally got into the problem ,just saying .TAGS-DPC -watchdog video schduler internal error Y50-70Y700Update: if you already did and you have problems go to safemode with networking - remove the driver with DDU and install older version of gpu driver.

When I install the driver off of my cd, I can get max resolution of 1900x1600 (or whatever it is, I know it is in the 1900's).

I installed the newest driver released this month and I lost that now. I can only have 4 different stages of resolution and when I used to have MANY. The highest it goes is 1280x1024. Any ideas?

I will try to download the beta if you think that will help. I'm confused why it would take a step back in resolution?

Answer:Latest Released Nvidia Driver Issue

There are several possibilities.

1. the cd had a newer driver, the web site is behind. Not usual, but I have seen it happen.

2. somehow a monitor other than the one you have got selected during the downloaded driver setup. I have done this one to myself in the past.

3. probably something I haven't thought of.

hi there, just to let every one know, the latest driver for nVidia 8400GS causes your screen to change resolution WHILE installing, and after first start-up. just restart your computer a total of two times after installation, and your away!!!!!

this is on a 32bit OS, not sure about x64

About 4 days ago i've installed "Windows TinyXP" instead of Windows 7.
Since then i have not been able to play any games because of an error saying "Driver does not support Direct3D9.0c"
So i tried to install the latest driver, but i got an BSOD looking like this: http://img443.images.../imag0147x.jpg/
So since that did not work i entered "Safe Mode" and uninstalled the driver again...
After that i tried installed the driver as an "Clean Install" by clicking Custom Install, that option should delete old driver data before installing new, so i tried that...
BSOD once again...
I am running in safe mode right now, and i would like if someone could tell me why i cant install the latest driver and how to fix it..
Also, my graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce G210M (Notebook)

Problem number 1: why are you using windows tinyxp ? yes it is stable on some degrees but it has some flaws even when being shrunken down.

Windows XP home or Professional needs a minium of 2gbs of space to install, once installed get rid of the apps or utilities you don't want using add/remove programs and components found in control panel.
I know the author who did tinyxp and tiny7 and he probably left out somethings thats giving you problems.

Problem 2: with graphic driver identifier directly from nvidia.

So I just recently upgraded to Windows 7. After installing all the necessary drivers provided by Windows Update, It was time to install the one provided for the Graphics Card. Ever since I've got the driver set, there seems to be this flicker on the screen that tends to show up every few seconds.

It's really annoying.. can anybody help?

Answer:Flicker after installing latest NVIDIA 8600M GT driver

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Having the latest driver is not always the best solution.

Have you tried rolling back to the previous driver from within Device Manager or downloading one from the manufacturer's driver page?

I have just installed Win 7 64 bit onto a partition on my machine:

After suggestions from Torrentg and BlackRoseMD1 (many thanks again) on this forum I have upgraded my BIOS to version 1801 and attempted to install the nVidia 195.39 beta driver. Unfortunately the result was the same. The install gets to about 40% then both screens go black. After about 30 secs to a minute the secondary monitor shows a garbled desktop after which it to goes black. After a further minute or so the system reboots and checks the disk for errors - continuing, the screens go black just after the win 7 logo disappears.

So I would appreciate any advice as to how to continue:

Revised spec:

? MoBo: ASUS P5N32-e SLi Bios Revision 1801
? Processor: Intel E6750 2.66 MHz
? Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8600GT
? Memory: 2 x 2048 Mb DDR2 PC2-5300 (333Mhz)
? Dual Monitors: 1680 x 1050 and 1280 x 1024
My system is dual boot - running Win XP & Win 7 very successfully.

Answer:Latest nVidia Driver not working in Win 7 64Bit redux

Did you try temporarily disconnecting your secondary monitor whilst updating the driver?

I've had nothing but raw luck with my nVIDIA drivers... Since I first installed the GeForce8800 drivers 6 months ago, and every update since, the nVIDIA control panel has had only partial functionality, and would crash when attempting to access certain areas of it.

Now with the most recent update (this month) the control panel crashes on launch, and I can't access anything at all, leaving me no control of the Anti Aliasing overrides I need to optimize game performance.

Does anyone else have this problem or know how I can fix it?

Well i see you have a different theme. I can say that from my experience with my Series 6 card that i have not had any problems iwth the CPanel at all. In both XP and Vista and while running the Official drivers and the Beta.

So it could be 1 of 2 thigns from what i can see.

1.) your CPanel is screwy cause of a UXTheme.dll patch gone bad?? Or maybe Windowsblinds messed with it??

2.) the Series 8 drivers are worse than the Series 6 drivers.

Check out their forums. They have several topic on both the Foreware divers and the Control Panel. Maybe they can be of more assistance.

Little background, bought an GS60-003 Ghost from MSI a few weeks ago and it game with windows 8 OEM. I really don't like windows 8 so I figured I would give Ubuntu a try and I found a didn't like that either. Ultimately I decided to purchase Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and have that installed as my current OS. I went through and got the updated versions of my drivers from MSI's website (to my knowledge). However whenever I install any type of nvidia driver I get random BSOD. If I remove the nvidia driver and software from my computer then I am good however this is kind of an unaccaptable compromise seeing as how I bought this computer to play games. I used BlueScreenView and it said I had a stop error 0x00000009f due to ntoskrnl.exe however I don't really know what this means and can't seem to find a post with someone having a similar situation as me and I'm really hoping you guys can help before I try and take it someplace to have it serviced. Attached is the debug file created by DM Log Collector.

Answer:BSOD randomly after installing latest Nvidia Driver.

Hi DillyMac.

You laptop GS60-003 Ghost does not seem to have an onboard GPU, and a dedication one, GeForce GTX 860M only.

The BSOD that you are having means your GPU fails to respond within a specific time during power transition period (hibernate or sleep).

As your computer is new, and you are having the issue with multiple versions of the display driver, better you RMA the laptop.

Question: nvidia tnt2 m64

I have an Elitegroup motherboard with SiS620 chipset, and I've installed a pci nvidia tnt2 m64, but now lockups occur in 3d games, and sometimes in the Windows GUI.

Sometimes alt+ctrl+del will get me out of it in the GUI; it gives me a blue "system busy" screen and then I can click cancel on the close program dialog and everything's fine.

Sometimes it stays locked when I hit alt+ctrl+del, and it always stays locked in games.

I'm running the detonator 5.13 beta drivers, which are said to tbe the most stable. I have tried the latest drivers (12.xx), but with those the problem is worse because once it locks alt+ctrl+del never works, and the lockups are more frequent.

I've tried adjusting latency timing, looked for conflicts and tested power settings and everything seems fine... what could be the problem?

Answer:nvidia tnt2 m64

Wondering how you disabled your sis chip, this from the sis web site about adding pci card to a 620 system

If you add on a PCI VGA card on a AGP/Super AGP VGA based board (like 5600+6326, 530, 620), you
will need to set up the display priority. Every board maker has her way to do the setting. Some of them will implement
it in the BIOS, in the item "Integrated Peripheral","Initial Display First", you can choose "PCI slot". However some other
makers do the setting by jumpers, you need to refer to your manual or contact the makers for further help. The best
solution is to ask help from your board maker. However if you don't know who the maker is, you can track from the
store where you buy the computer, or ask any local pc dealer if they know there's a way to help you. After you
finish the hardware part, you can remove the our vga driver from your system. Please go to "Control
Panel","Add/Delete programs" to remove the driver. Please don't care about the exclamation mark that appears in the
Device Manager, if you have already install your second card successfully. It won't influence your VGA display.

Question: Nvidia TNT2 M64

I recently bought a TNT2 card. I installed , downloaded the lateset drivers from the nvidia website (41.xx) and ran it on my WinME system.Problem is when the computer starts ,before the BIOS and memory check, the amount of memory shown is 32 MB.While in Windows the driver shows only 16 MB (display properties-advanced-nvidia TNT2 Model 64). I had purchasd the card with 32 MB. So does this mean that in Windows only 16 MB is used ? How can I correct this error ?

Answer:Nvidia TNT2 M64

some of your ram might be should pickup the whole thing or not at all.I have a tnt pro 2 with 32mb.
try removing it puting your old card back in restart then shut down and put the tnt back in and make sure it is in evenly and firmly pushed in if it's not you could have problems.and then restart again.reinstall the drivers.
All internal work must be done with power off.
if you changed from pci to agp make sure that enabled is set in the BIO for AGP. It should work but it is a little finiky if it wasn't pushed in just leave the case off untill you get it right because you might have to remove it a few times untill you get it right. good luck
