I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

if so, where are they on and what color are they>?

this is because i'm RMAing my board tomorrow and i won't have to do it if it's a jumper problem, because mines came with no jumpers on the module and i was looking through the mobo's box today and a tiny ziplock bag with 5 13.5mm blue jumpers fell out

Forgive me, but I am rather new to building computers. My computer that I use now is out of date, with a bad mobo and processor, but I have a great hard drive and video card. As such, I am replacing my mobo, processor, and upgrading my RAM. However, I have no idea if what I'm planning is compatable.

These are the pages, and yes, I know that a lan party is not a begginer board, but I'm having my brother install it all, but he is unavailable atm.

I realize that this is probably very, shall we say "Noobish", to post, but I don't want to waste my money on things that don't work. Thank you for any and all help.

Answer:DFI Lanparty mobo compatability help

i need to know what exact video card and harddrive you already have. you could probably do yourself a big favor by choosing an amd athlon64 system, as said platform can be had for less expense and has numerous advantages over the p4 5xx series. choosing an upgrade depends largeley on your anticipated uses for the machine - what are they?

Well, I am building a computer ( and was just looking at my perspective Mobo on Newegg and notced the lack of ports i thought came on all mobos such as the ones pointed to by the arrows. The only ports i saw were the sound, USB, and firewire ports

any help is needed cuz i don't wish to waste $130 on a mobo i cant use!

Answer:DFI LANPARTY Mobo Question

THE DFI Lanparty nF4 board does not include the old skool serial and parallel ports, the two near your PS/2 port that have the numerous pins. The other one that is above your intergrated 10/100 LAN is your intergrated video VGA connection. DFI does not have intergrated video and this port will be found on your video card.

I assure you the lanparty does include the required PS/2 ports, and the others you've pointed to you aren't even using anyways and doubt you ever will so it's not really an issue.

DFI I/O ports are:
6 USB 2.0
2 PS/2
2 Intergrated 10/100 LAN
1 Firewire
7.1 Sound

If you really need the missing ports DFI provides a FrontX control panel that has a variety of ports avalible on it.

Just built a new system with the above mobo as a base. Throughout the set up I encountered a couple times when I would plug the power supply back in, turn the power on (on the power supply, which is a seasonic 600w) and then the power LED would start flashing and continue. When this happened the mobo would not power up. I figured I had a loose connection, so I Pulled everything out and started a slow systematic build and checking to see if a particular piece was causing the problem. Including reseting the cmos.

After working my way through everything, it booted up and ran great! So I installed and updated everything, played a little BF2 and everything seemed fine.

The next day I was online for a bit in the am, shutdown for a couple hours and then tried to boot again. This time however, the LED started flashing again and it wasn't booting. Again pulled it all apart and rebuilt, it didn't restart this time though (can't remember if I reset the cmos this time)

I can't seem to find anything in the manual or online that tells me what might be causing this. Any ideas or help would be great. I can give all the specs if anyone needs that.

Answer:Mobo Unresponsive - DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR

Hey there,

Thanks for that suggestion, unfortunately none of those led's are lighting at all (I believe they only lit when I was actually able to turn the power on the board on).

It is the stand-by power led that is flashing. As soon as the power supply is turned on this light starts flashing and nothing else will do anything else. The times the system worked correctly, this led was constantly lit and steady.

Alright so I got my LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR and my power supply has something that it can be monitored by the comp, well does anyone know what one to put it in for the mobo to monitor it? This is what the website says, "Monitors the speed of the CPU fan, Fan 2 and chipset fan" So should I just plug it into Fan 2 slot? In the booklet that came with the mobo it shows me that the CPU fan, chipset fan and Fan 2 all says "sense" and the fan's 4 and 5 say N.C. instead of sense. Anyone know if 2 will sense my power supply fan, its an Enermax EG701AX Noisetaker 600watt. Thanks!

Well, I just got finished installing a new Lanparty Ultra D, and the CPU fan is going really slow. Speeds around 950rpm.. Im pretty sure its something with the BIOS becuase before it shows the lanparty logo its spinning what it looks like on my gigabyte board, pretty dang fast.

This is my friends first build, so im trying to help him out with the problem. He finally got it done a few minutes after I left to go home and it wouldnt turn on, and whaddya know, when i get back, it works.

Is This normal, or is there something wrong?

I have the stuff listed in my sig. and I just put it together about an hour ago. I'm not sure which two of the three slots the RAM should be in to be running dual channel. Right now they're in 1 and 2, but I don't think it is running dual channel because the RAM has the activity led's and they're not the same (usually). I couldn't find anything in the manual that came with my mobo as to which to sockets to put the RAM in, if you could please help me I'd really appreciate it, thanks!

Answer:Dual Channel RAM with DFI Lanparty mobo HELP!

Generally with dual channel ram, the two that are dual are the same colour. Also the slots are generally positioned: || |
The two that are FURTHEST from each other generally run in dual channel.

So put them in 1&3. Also make sure that dual channel is enabled in your bios. When you boot up and it goes through POST it should tell you when channel memory you are using. (single or dual)

Get rid of NVIDIA's Network Manager. I've been pulling my hair out for over two weeks trying to get my new PC connected to the internet via router, and I tried everything. I flashed a new BIOS, disabled the NVIDIA and Windows firewalls, fiddled with every setting I could find dealing with network or internet connectivity, and uninstalled and re-installed damn near every driver in my machine. So, just so someone else doesn't overlook the obvious as I did, get rid of the NVIDIA Network Manager. And I had to use DriverCleaner in safe mode to get rid of all of it. Then I reinstalled the NVIDIA mobo drivers without the firewall and network manager. Now, finally, I can connect.

I'm looking for a motherboard around or less than $90. My choices are the Abit NF8 and the DFI LanParty UT nForce3... The DFI is older, but costs more and seems to be very favorable. The Abit NF8 is cheaper, but newer, and seems to outperform the DFI just a tiny bit according to the reviews. Both have what I want: onboard everything (LAN, FireWire, USB, sound) Which one do you recommend? Thanks.

I have the gigabit LAN port plugged into my switch (EZXS55W) which is also normally plugged into my Laptop on another port. After desktop pops up, it loads NVmix and my Wireless Software, then pauses for a long time considering.....

until LAN connection comes up, ITE SmartGaurdian, & Security Shield, pops up.

Is there a setting to bypass DHCP resolution on startup?

Thanks in advance,

Answer:A64 nF3 250Gb (mobo): Why does XP pause until Linksys Switch gives IP?

Set the IP manually

If you had a router, it'd assign the IP while XP is booting up, but since your using a switch, XP has to assign itself an IP address.

Just assign an IP manually to the laptop and another to the desktop

I have a DFi Lanparty NF4 SLi-DR Motherboard. It can run with 2 x 1GB Corsair XMS3200 Pro RAM but when I try to run with 4 x 1GB of the same RAM it won't boot up. Can anybody help? The processor I am running is an AMD64 3500 with 2 x 7800GT OC Graphics Cards running in SLi configuration. The case is a Thermaltake watercooled Tai-Chi with a Thermaltake W0073 modular 520w PSU. I am running 2 x 300GB Maxtor Maxline 3 Hard-drives placed into Vantec Vortex HDD coolers. I have listed the system in case it helps.

Answer:Cannot run 4GB RAM with DFi LANPARTY SLI DR

They are lots of reasons why.The major one will be the ram. If it is double sided ram, then the maximum the board will take is 2 X 1Gb modules. If the ram is single sided then the motherboard can take 4 X 1Gb modules but you have to alter the memory timing in the bios. It has to be changed from 1T ( command per clock) to 2T. Also the memory voltage has to be altered to 2.8v.Page 7 of manual

Question: DFi Lanparty

So I built a computer, and I got the DFi Lanparty with the SLi and all that. Werid thing is it comes with 2 Ethernet plugs. I can get internet from either one, but there must be a reason they put 2 plugs in there. So i thought it was for that whole "lanparty" thing. so i hooked another computer to the other plug, and it lights up, the other computer says it gets a connection, but it isn't strong enough to actually get on the internet. So, anyone have this board or know what it's there for?

Answer:DFi Lanparty

Most new High end boards(like that one) are coming standard with Dual ethernet. I think you got it right with the reason for being LAN parties.

Hi guys!

I just installed a Zalman 7700 ALCU on my Venice 3200+ on a DFI Lanparty Ultra-D NF4 mobo. Please read the whole description guys, there are a few twists and turns.

The 7700 comes with something called a Fan Mate 2 which allows you to control the speed of the CPU fan.

The thing is, when I turn the knob of the Fan Mate 2, the CPU fan does NOT change speed! It stays at the same speed, when connected to the 3 pin "CPU fan slot".

The BIOS Health Monitor tells me the fan is spinning at 800 something RPM when on slow setting. When the speed is attempted to be "increased" using Fan Mate 2, even though the fan is spinning at the same speed, the "CPU fan speed" in the BIOS goes to ZERO. (instead of both getting INCREASED)

When I use ANOTHER 3-pin fan input slot other than "CPU fan input slot" (e.g. Fan 2 slot), the speed increases to like 1700 something. So the "Fan Mate" thing is doing something right. Even though both numbers (800 and 1700 something) are less than the "stated" speeds of 1000/2000 +- 10%. (e.g. 900-1100 and 1800-2200 for the two modes). I guess this is another problem altogether.

Now, I INITALLY thought there was a problem with the 3-pin CPU fan slot. But the thing is, when I START the computer with the 7700 connected to the 3 pin CPU fan slot, it actually spins pretty fast (around 1700). But, as the computer is POSTing it slows itself down to like 800.. After that, as describe... Read more

Question: DFI's Lanparty

hey my freind got thesame bord as me UT model though and on his raid array when installing windows gives him a error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL can any one help

Answer:DFI lanparty UT sli-dr

This is a common problem and I have run into it more than enough times.

First thing to do is make sure your memory is working fine by running memtest for a few hours.

If memory turns out to not be the problem, go into your BIOS and disable all components that are not neccesary and remove all unneccesary periphiral cards (eg modems, sound cards, onboard LAN etc.) and try again. If this works, go back into the BIOS and turn them back on one by one and make sure the system boots. If it doesn't, one of your components probably has an IRQ conflict

If you successfully are able to install Windows, I suggest you install the HAL (Hardware abstraction layer) which allows you to manually assign IRQs and avoid conflicts;EN-US;299340

Answer:nf4 lanparty ultra-D

This forum is intended for issues related to systems running Windows 7. I see that you're on XP. (I also see that you like run-on sentences.)

That said, I don't know what to suggest. The Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D is a fairly old (2005) Socket 939 board. I think eBay may be where you'd have to go for a replacement motherboard, or a replacement BIOS chip. (Both the board and the chip are listed on eBay.)

If you'd like to try just updating the BIOS, the latest version is 406, from April of 2006:

DFI LANParty:The Best OC Platform! Overclock, Motherboard, Intel, AMD

I suggest using a floppy-based version, as it's safer than flashing from Windows.

Good luck.

just a quick question. Ive been looking at mobos and i can't decide between the DFI lanparty and the A8N-sli premium. I know they both have some great features but i mainly just want some oppinions from those of you who have or have used either of these. thank you, mobo going to be paired with a x2 4200+, 2 gig xms, 7900 GT, and a 74G raptor if that changes anything.

Answer:A8N premiun or DFI Lanparty?

You're not using SLi so don't get an SLi motherboard. Get an Asus A8N-E or a DFI LANPARTY motherboard without SLi. With an X2 and 7900GT, I recommend the Asus A8N-E. If you had an Opteron, I'd go for the DFI. Best of luck!

now that i've fallen for it and i can't find any clear documentation that came with my motherboard that states this i'll say it out loud. DO NOT INSTALL THE USB DRIVERS ON THE CD IF YOUR OS IS NEWER THAN 2K SP4!!!

i suppose someone has already pointed this out but i can't believe this didn't warrant adding a note anywhere in the packaging

Answer:DFI LanParty USB drivers

for anyone interested i found a real solution and i'm amazed DFI didn't figure it out . if you make the same mistake as i did your usb will show up as 2 different host controllers. if you expand the two controllers and look at the properties of the top device in each, then have a look at driver details. one will say "windows xp publisher" as driver publisher and the other will say something like "OCW". simply uninstall the one labelled OCW and it should revert to the windows XP driver.

I cant seem to figure it out. it will only work when i reset the jumpers, so i know there has to be something wrong...anybody's help will be greatly appreciated.

Answer:DFI lanparty ut big prob

post all of your hardware. be detailed.

for a start, remove all your non essentials, and try to start it with just the cpu, ram and if you have onboard video, use that instead of a graphics card. if you have multiple sticks of ram, start with 1 stick.

I built a system using a DFI Lanparty board using IDE raid 0, which the board was made for (not ATA), with W2k, SP4. I used 2 160g drives to do this, used good components, lots of memory, etc. It worked fine for quite awhile, until I added an MT 4 sound card for the purpose of in house music recording and editing (I'm also a part time musician). Almost immediately, it started to hang, so I decided to uninstall the card and software. Did that, then when I rebooted the system, at the last stage of the boot process, just when you think everythng is cool, I get a blue screen registry error message. I am no programmer, but I do know a lot of basic recovery methods, and none of them worked. My main question is this- is there bootable software available on CD that I can use to address this registry error issue, or is there another approach? Keep in mind that I can get to a command prompt screen that allows me to see that all the files are still there with a directory command, yet cannot boot in safe mode or any other F8 option, even when I use the W2k CD. I still get the blue screen error message which passes very quickly, something like, and then the system reboots repeatedly, ad infinitum, like it is in a loop, to the same results every time, until I shut off the power. If you have any input, please let me know at '[email protected]'

I still get the blue screen error message which passes very quickly, something like, and then the system reboots repeatedly, ad infinitum, like it is in a loop, to the same results every time, until I shut off the power. A buddy of mine was saying that he's heard the new DFI Lanparty boards could crash if you run it for an extended period of time. They overclock great I am sure, but are they very stable? Or is my friend just full of ****?

Answer:DFI Lanparty - unstable?

he's probably saying that because some people get ****ty psu or ****ty ram that don't last long

I still get the blue screen error message which passes very quickly, something like, and then the system reboots, like in a loop, and goes back to the same blue screen error message, then reboots, ends up at the same blue screen, etc. If you have any input, please let me know at '[email protected]'

Hey im just wondering if this mtoherboard is a SLi board. It says it comes with a SLi graphics card bridge, what is with that? and is the LANPARTY nF4 SLi-D worth getting over this board

Answer:DFI LANPARTY UT Ultra-D ??

no that board is not SLI, it just has 2x pci-e slots

and if you're going to go SLI, then get the SLI board, if not, then don't

IMO, there's no point in going SLI

Ok first off, I have never been very good at networking. But I did mange to get my 2 PC's my kids PC ( all on xp home) and my Xbox all routed through my DI-604. I just built a new Rig, and I cant get it to connect to the internet at all. I tried direct to my modem and through my router. I unplugged my modem and router both to try to let em reset. Some on please point me to a walkthough to get it all set up correctly. My old rig still runs on the router if I want it to. When I check status on new rig, it show no address or anything. Its also on a 1394 connection, on the DFI board. I am way lost please point me somewhere.

Answer:Xp Pro and DFI Lanparty and Router??? Please help

you need to install the drivers for your onboard network card

the 1394 connection is for the fire wire ports on your motherboard, i dont know why they show up as network connecticons, but mine do the same thing.

check the dfi website or the cd that came with your motherboard for the onboard network card drivers for your specific motherboard

System was stable before I touched anything. I got a good deal on some Adata Vitesta DDR 400 (2x1GB) identical to what was in my system. I added the new memory, so 4x1GB Adata Vitesta DDR 400 is what is has now. XP Pro SP3 started up fine, I restarted and now it will not even post and hangs with 2 diagnostic LED's lit, not recognizing my vga card. I reverted back to just the 2 original sticks and the same thing happens, I even removed 1 stick. I am having the same problem on a DFI RDX-200. Has anyone experienced this before?

Answer:DFI LanParty Ultra-D UT

First check that you did not bump a cable loose in your computer, make sure your video card is seated properly, also make sure you are installing the RAM properly. You say you have diagnostic lights, what code is it giving you and do you have your manual to see what it is? If you don't, post what code you are getting and we can google around and see if we can find it.

I just put together a new comp with a DFI Lanparty UT SLI-DR mobo and a AMD Athlon 64 3500+. once i had the computer mostly put together (e.g. floppy, cd drive, hard drive, ram, processor, PS) and i realized that there is NO WAY TO CONNECT A MONITOR to the board. so, i just slipped in my evga geforce 7800gt and attached my LCD monitor to that, with an adapter. but when I powered up the sysetm all the fans and everything went on, but there was no activity on the monitor. and the cd drive wouldnt open when i pushed the button. and the "diagnostic LEDs" all went on and stayed on, indicating that the system was still at the earliest start up phase and hadnt recognised the prossesor, RAM, or VGA. I will be building my first computer soon, and wanted to use the DFI lanparty ULTRA -D mobo.

A lot of replies on newegg say things like 'not a beginners board!' and 'i had a lot of trouble with ram frequincies' and 'my ram didn't work in dual channel mode'

So im stumped here, could you guys tell me if it's a good board from your expieriences with it? if it's not a beginner board oculd you recommend me one that's better within the same price range?

Answer:DFI lanparty ULTRA-D

The RAM problems are usually fixed with BIOS updates and time, from what I hear.

The not beginners board comes from the insane amount of options in the bios, that most DFI boards, let alone NVidia DFI boards (And Lanparty board) have.

Excellent board from what I've read.

I'm trying to overclock an AMD64 3200+ on the DFI LanParty UT nF4 SLI-D mobo. I can't figure out how to up the CPU voltage. Anyone know how? I have it clocked to 2.25GHz on 1.376v. It's Genie BIOS and the vcore is not accessible. Is there a multiplier of some sort?

Answer:overclock on DFI LanParty UT nF4 SLI-D

it's not a multiplier. the BIOS on the lanparty boards list the VCORE as "VID" (voltage ID)

the setting that says CPU VID control is the standard incremental voltage adjustment. the setting that says CPU VID special control is a percentage based voltage adjustment beyond the incremental adjustement.

I have not used that board, but a quick google search answered that question pretty easily.

good luck

How is the AM2 DFI LanParty aside from it's looks? (Found here:

Also, it seems to need an 8-pin CPU plug... What version of ATX is that? My PSU is only 2.01 ATX, and thus doesn't have the 8-pin plug for the CPU . Any way to make it work? The PSU is only a few months old and is VERY good for my needs (480W), and is 100% stable. I don't want to replace it!

Hmm.... well, if no one knows about the board, anyone atleast know the question about whether there is a way to use a 4-pin powersupply on an 8-pin motherboard (CPU plug).

So I figured out what it was, DIMM Slot 4 was bad. I figured this after running MemTest for two hours. The sticks are fine, and in single channel mode it ran fine but once in DDR it would start coming up with errors after about half an hour. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before?
I returned the mobo for a new one, hopfully that will fix it.

This will be my first post to this forum, so greetings everybody.

The issues I'm experiencing lead me to believe I am dealing with hardware problems, which is why I'm posting here. I've been dealing with a gamut of issues since putting the PC together, and for all my effort I haven't been able to pin down the cause(s). This is going to end up being a long post in an attempt to give you all as much info as I have. First my build:

MOBO: DFI LanParty UT nF4 SLI-D (bios ver 6.00)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ Socket 939
GPU: BFG GeForce 6800CTOC 2x in SLI mode Driver: (currently)
RAM: Kingston DDR-SDRAM 1024MBytes (2x 512Mb) (Frequency 200.9MHz)
PSU: SilverStone Zeus ST65ZF 650W

Now the issues. This rig was built around May/June, and even back then I would have issues with the computer restarting during gaming sessions. I attributed it to heat, so the side of my case went bye bye and I placed a giant floor fan blowing in it. This seemed to fix the lockups/shutdowns, for the most part, but they would still happen. (Even when the fan /wasn't/ blowing on the rig I only ever noticed either GPU's going any higher then 83 degrees C) So I started to shy away from it really being a heat problem, but keep the fan there in case. Of course, I updated games, updated drivers, updated Bios and all that, and the attempts to fix it never lasted long. With the update of my video drivers to (if I recall correctly) 7.6 I got a nice warning that there was insufficient power... Read more

Answer:BFG 6800GTOC SLI / DFI LanParty nF4 SLI-D Issues

With the 81.85's are you still getting shutdowns/lockups? I had some issues with my SLI setup using 78.01.

There should be a utility that came with your mobo to monitor your voltages, use it to check your 12v rail (while in SLI mode, of course). If it drops significantly below 11.90 when under load then you could be looking at a PSU issue.

After much thought and research, I think I have found two good mother boards for my modest new pc build.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester
Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM SATA
2x512 corsair xms (DDR400 / PC3200)
PNY Verto GeForce 6 6600GT PCI-E 128MB GDDR3

Ok, so I am torn between the Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe and a DFI LANPART board one of these three (I don't know which of the 3 though :S).

I realised that I have posted about this before, but I'm just unsure between these mobos.

I also appreciate that it must get very boring telling people what to buy for thier PCs, and answering questions all the time, but if you help I'll give you a big kiss

Ok, so I have been doing some reading throughout multiple sources and only found a few similarities to my issue. RAM test fine during stress tests, (As did mine, 3 passes through full boot MEMTest) but crash while gaming or random restarts just occur. From I reading I concluded that it is possible that the ram setup in the bios my not work for the speed of ram (PC 4200 etc) OR the RAM may be overheating, I have no clue which is more likely, my friend and I put this together, but he is more the hardware guy, I am more of programmer -.- Either way, I get Error 132 Crashes in World of Warcraft, and varios other error that point to RAM. Please anyone, this issue seems to be coming to a conclusion, I have been on sever time consuming 'wild goose chases' so to speak and tweaked several different options/ replaced cabling in the PC, to no avail.

Hi there,

Today my PC has suddenly decided it does not want to turn on. I'm not sure why it doesn't want to do this but yesterday i seemed to have trouble turning it on since my PSU needs to be turned on and if you don't allow long enough for it to get enough power it will get a 5 second burst of power but in order to turn it on i just had to keep turning it on and off at the PSU and keep pressing the on button and eventually it turned on.

AMD x2 4800+
DFI Lanparty SLi-DR
OCZ 2 x 1 GB DDR2 platinum ram
Hiper-R 580W PSU

Furthermore, the motherboard is getting some power since the diagostic LED is orange and has always been like that when power is on and the PSU is on since the red light is on and the mobo is getting some power.

Since it is a DFI, i used the EZ switch which allows me to try and turn it on with a button but it did nothing.

Just wondering if any of you would have any idea. Had this PC for 3 years - no problems and now suddenly today - it has that. I havn't even added anything to it in months and last time it was just a TV tuner.

Oh yeah i havn't overclocked it or nothing.

Edit: Ethernet port doesn't light up like it used too when something is connected to it which is very wierd since impretty sure it did - even if the pc wasn't booted up.

Hiya, I posted on here a while ago regarding building my first computer. Well its all built and I'm having trouble with the SoundBlaster 2 ZS I installed.

I beleive the problem to be to do with the fact that the SB card is in the bottom PCI slot, and apparently they are not very stable with this. Basically when playing SOME games the game will crash and the sound will loop itself 0.5 seconds over and over again, until I hit the re-set button. This is a real problem having spent a fortune on my new computer. So I was wondering what people would suggest for me to fix this problem? Either buying a new MotherBoard or buying a new soundcard, and in which case, is this problem sure to go away?

I found this info out at the steam forums:

HL/CS/DoD & other Games Crash with Looping Sounds

For a while now, say a month or so, I've been having a re-occurring problem, varying in how often it happens. During CS game play, for no reason whatsoever, the game will freeze and I will hear a constant looping sound.

The reason I have posted this now is because the 10+ attempts I've tried to play CS today, every time the game has frozen, and the sounds loops at what just happened on screen. For example - if the game froze in the middle of a firefight, I will hear the last few shots loop over and over again.

I also have to 'power off' my PC every time when it freezes so I can't get an error report.

I'd love to build this, but I already have more computers than I know what to do with, but this may be a nice template for someone else wanting a good lanparty type system.

Here're the specs.
Xqpack2 micro atx shoebox case
Corsair 520w PSU
Asus P5K-VM G33 MATX (can be oc'ed)
Intel C2D E6320 4M cache
Zalman 7700CU CPU Cooler
EVGA 8800GTS 320MB
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 800 2 x 2GB
WD 750GB SATA 3.0Gbps 16M cache HD
Windows Xp/Vista 64bit(not on list)

It'd be around $1450 with windows and shipping.

Yeah, I'm just bored, so I went "window shopping."

Answer:Micro ATX C2D LanParty Gaming PC

Nice build. But it's better to get 4x1GB than 2x2GB... the 1GB sticks are more reliable, overclock better, and you don't lose as much memory if one fails.

Hey all,
Anyone have this mobo? When I enable the 2nd LAN port (nVidia) my system seems to get problems like freezing and whatnot. Ever since I disabled the second port, things are running smooth as ever.

Anyone figure out a way to enable the LAN port without the problems?

i dont own your motherboard but mine is similar in design and when i enabled the second lan port after windows has been installed i got serious stability problems - apartently this is an nforce2 chipset thing so its NOT a fault motherboard (we hope) i happens to all us lot with NF2 motherboards.
the only solution (i know of) is to format ur HDD, enable the lan port and reinstall windows - apartently that solves it

Hello everyone! I was looking at mobos' and i came across the DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D and the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum mobos. The lanparty mobo seemed more attractive, where as it seems to be more of a "gamers" board. I have never built with these two brands, MSI and DFI, so i was woundering which mobo would be the best for gamers. The lanparty mobo has 2 PCI-express slots, not SLI, and it cost about 10 bucks more. I dont really need the extra pci-e slot, expecially if its not sli. I also have herd many talking about the lanparty board being difficult to install and it being very picky about the memory. As for the MSI board, most of everyone has said it to be a breeze to install. I would rather get the MSI board, which is less expensive, and it being very easly to build with, rather than getting the lanparty board, having it to be more expensive and difficult to install, but yet is basicly the same as the MSI board. Perhaps some help from people who have these boards would be helpfull. Any help will be welcomed. Thanks

OK. I just got an opinion dis-favoring the A8N-SLI board in leu of the equivalent Lanparty. I want to buy the best (yes I dig the board without owning it) but I have read countless reviews and found the Asus to come out on top. Please indulge me in your experience.

Answer:Asus versus Lanparty Boards

I dont know about the A8N. but i've heard its very good.. its the board my friend chose over anything else for his SLi setup...

however, my Asus experience hasn't been great. I burnt my 478 p4p800e deluxe from oveclocking but got it replaced so its all good.. But, its got some great features on it.

DFi are known for their overclockability and overall performance, although I'd say the Asus would be more reliable assuming you wont be overclockin ur FSB.

If it was me, I would go with the DFI completely out of word of mouth/reputation. but just go with whatever ur budget alows

Model: VS1GBKIT400
Speed: DDR400(PC3200)
Type: 184 Pin DDR SDRAM
Error Checking: Non-ECC
Registered/Unbuffered: Unbuffered
Cas Latency: 2.5
Support Voltage: 2.5V
Bandwidth: 3.2GB/s
Organization: two 64M x 64 -Bit

The Problem.

It's running in single mode and not dual mode.
It tells me the following on boot.

The system is running in Single Channel Mode when you plug DIMM module in DIMM 1.
Please install 2 RAM modules into DIMM 2&4 for dual channel operation.

Now I took the ram out of slots 1 & 2 then put it in 2 & 4 but the system will not boot it just continously beeps very loudly. I searched on the forums and didn't really see anything pointing to my problem DIRECTLY so I'm posting a new thread. There FAQ on there webpage has nothing about it except to move a jumper on the board from set 1&2 to 2&3 to be able to up the voltage for massive overclocking (up to 4v's on the ram) and this isn't something I'm trying to do. I'm simply trying to run the system with Dual Memory and not Single Channel mode.

Can someone please tell me what's my problem or how to resolve this issue? The manual only has about 1 page on my issue and again it refers to simply upping the voltage and not this problem specifically.

Answer:LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D --- Memory Problems!

same thing happened to me:

1.) is this value ram? don't use value ram with the dfi board because value ram sux0rs and the dfi board hates sux0r rams
2.) you have faulty ram (i've gone through 4 kingston value ram to find out that they have crappy faulty ram)

I have just built my very first computer and installed windows 7 on it. I have run into a slight problem, the driver setup they sent me isn't compatible with Windows 7. When i put in the CD a setup message tells me, "The main board is not supported with this operating system. The application will be terminated." I have tried running this program in the Windows 7 compatibility mode but none of the Vista or XP options seem to work. To top it all off the DFI website is absolutely horrible. The CD has the chipset, audio, network, RAID, software and utility drivers on it. Where can i find these drivers compatible with Windows 7 64 bit?

Answer:DFI Lanparty GF9400-T2RS Drivers

Your very first build and you went with a DFI? Brave... I like it.

First things first, im an experianced computer builder so please dont suggest anything as simple as "check for short circuiting" and the like. Okay...

The Problem....
After pressing the power button on my computer (to turn it on. I was rather unamused when the *** at DFI support thought i ment when the computer was already turned on) it powers down 3 seconds later...

What I've attempted
Tried 2 different power supplies, no effect
Tired a different CPU still no effect
Tried different RAM no effect
Tried removing all IDE devices, still no effect
Tried removing all PCI and AGP cards, no effect
Tried resetting the CMOS no effect

Points to note
When CPU is removed the motherboard powers up properly
This is a replacement motherboard from my supplier since my last one failed on me for no reason so its total runtime is nill
There are no signs of physical damage to the motherboard.
There is no error beeping at all

Any ideas that i might try or check for would be great, excluding returning it.

Answer:DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra B problem...

Umm, mabye it was DOA? If the mobo is not posting (beeping) then something is seriously wrong.

I recently installed the dfi lanparty ut nf3 250 gb (all other components are new). I attempted to test the reset button by reseting the system (from the desktop). After pressing the reset button on my case for a second or two then releasing it, the system appears to reset - for example, the monitor resets, the hard drive resets (makes that noise you hear during a cold start) but following the hard drive reset, nothing happens. There is no system beep you commonly hear during a cold start. The monitor is black and the hard drive continues to make that reset sound. Its almost as if the motherboard doesn't reset.

I checked the reset plug that attaches from the case to the mobo and it appears to be attached firmly. Everything else works fine but this.

Can you help?

I've got this legendary socket 939 motherboard DFI LP UT SLI-DR Expert chipset nForce4 SLI almost new only one SATA port is somewhat messed up missing those plastic parts from both sides , bought this baby really cheap ~ 55 $ from well known Romanian e-bay like site , and I put it on my FX-60 dual core ( yeah,THAT one! ) and some KINGSTON value memory and tried to boot my rig. Here is my problem now:this board is working those 4 red diagnostic LEDS start 4,3,2 next only one left so no "4 LEDs of death" syndrome for me and the onboard speaker beeps ONCE which I know is always a good thing but I cannot enter BIOS to setup as I need Del key on my PS2 keyboard is NOT working as it should I press the key and the result is 0 nada nothing , first I see the boot logo from DFI after that I see this error message "CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded , press F1 to continue or Del to enter setup" and when I press Del I get nothig and when I press F1 key sometimes I see this message "Verifying Pool Data and Backup CMOS OK!" and other times I see "Sil3114 SATA RAID Press Ctrl-S or F4 to enter RAID utility".One more thing to add is that I can actually use boot menu selection using Esc key to selct HDD,CD-ROM or some other option and this board actually can boot using CD/DVD I already tried UBCD rescue CD and some Linux live distros to see if it's not a problem with my FX-60 processor and I'm happy that it is working well i... I'm going to visit a friend in Germany soon, and we're going to arrange a small LAN party. However, he has a Webstar DPX2203, and neither of us know if we need a router or a switch to be able to be connected tot the web at the same time. It would be GREAT if someone would help a poor network noobie with this!

Answer:LANParty with a Webstar DPX2203 - do I need a router or a switch?

From the looks at the crappy manual, I don't believe that modem does any routing, so it definitely wouldn't be able to NAT.

Unless you have a L3 switch with NAT capabilities, you'll need a router in order for multiple machines to access the Internet, unless you're given multiple static addresses by the ISP (doubtful).

Although I highly recommend against it, you could also make one of the systems serve Windows ICS, if it had 2 NICs. You'd plug the one NIC into the webstar modem and the other NIC into your switch, and then give the other hosts the default gateway of the Windows ICS box.

Hi can you help plz, i have been using my nvidia nforce controller for 2 years without a problem and had saved the driver install files.
I reformatted my pc recently but cant get back using my nvidia nic unless i use my NTLworld ambit modem via its usb connection.
I uninstalled all Nvidia drivers and reinstalled nforce driver(NF4w2k666E) selecting "NO" when asked whether i want to install nvidia firewall as i had major problems with this before. i selected to install SWE drivers aswell, I tried changing duplex from autu to 100 half & 100 full duplex and disabled the power option to switch it off to save resources but still nothing. I get limited or no activity. i did get cable unplugged with other drivers.
Do i need xp sp2 installed first?

I just installed a new Lanparty nF4 sli-d motherboard, amd64 3200, new 550w psu, and am trying to reinstall windows xp on the hd. Its booting from the CD but when it gets to the part where it says waiting to instal windows or w/e, it goes to a blue screen that says UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_DISK with a bunch of other jargon. Anyone have this problem and know the solution?

Answer:new Lanparty nf4 sli-d and amb64, tryin to install windows

How many HDD do you have? If you have more than one, make sure that the one you are installing windows on is the MASTER disc and the other one(s) are SLAVE discs. You'll have to add/remove jumpers to make one the MASTER disc.

Thats about all I can help you with. I hope it helps.

I just got a my new Fx 57 and Dfi lanparty ultra-d setup but it seems that my internet speed from roadrunner is not as fast as before judging by bandwidth tests and my ping in games.

Im using the onboard lan and I have not made any changes what so ever with my internet so I had hoped that it would stay the same.

Are there any tweaks or adjustments I can do in bios or in windows to boost my internet connection? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Bad internet connection after installing new Lanparty Ultra-d

If you are connected directly to the cable modem, you could try manually setting the port speed and duplex to 10/half. I've seen some NICs that have problems auto-detecting this.

Ok, i have a pretty stock...well the spex r in my siggy, but i was thinking of swapping my stock mobo with this one. I'm very $$ conscious, and this is the cheapest UV mobo i found and it seems pretty good (SATA, USB 2.0). Does anyone have it and can post comments/opinions? Any other suggestions. As always, UV reactive is better than not, but if not having it makes a significant difference in $$ or quality, that'd be fine.

Answer:Thinking of switching MOBOs, DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra B

I have it. it is not the fastest mobo (it is slow, except for long term projects)

however the computer that I have it on (with an amd 2800) has never lock up, crashed or anything goofy like that and it has stayed on 24hr a day for the past 2 years
