Question: Solved: Page load error every single time w/ error ...

I get this error everytime I try to open this site.

"Message: Object required
Line: 1562
Char: 4
Code: 0

also get this:

Message: Unexpected call to method or property access.
Line: 264
Char: 5
Code: 0
URI: res://ieframe.dll/httpErrorPagesScripts.js

using I.E. 8 / Windows XP
all firewalls are down
no anti-virus software is running (including addons)
browser security is very minimal
addons are updated (or removed) latest version of java is installed
have latest version of flash and it is added onto I.E. browser
i meet all of the minimum requirements
What happens: I enter my email address into a form and click a button that should order this Starz thing I'm trying to get. When I click, it works and works and works until I finally get "page cannot load" error.

I have tried everything I've been able to troubleshoot with (via googling) and to no avail.

Also: I just got Qwest High Speed and MSN and Live (sort of a bundle) and my pc was updated -- I.E. to version 8 and whatever else Windows updated.

If you need more information, please let me know. (I also think I might be missing some libraries.

Thank you! :-D

Preferred Solution: Solved: Page load error every single time w/ error ...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So I cannot load on any of my 3 computers on my network. I tried all the basic stuff...cookies, cache, firewall, adaware, security, host file...

then I finally get it to work using the proxy below.

I've reset the router and modem, and cannot ping the website.

Any ideas of how to get on there without using the proxy?

Howdy Ya'll Being on dialup, I've done all I can to make using the internet as efficient as possible. I use Firefox browser and have installed the AdBlock Plus add on. That works really well, BTW. Additionally, I've installed a 3rd party addon called Preloader from Sourceforge. Once a page is loaded, revisiting that page is real snappy.

What this post is all about is every time I reboot my machine, the first time I visit any site its like I've never been there before. Typical dialup.. Slow step by step loading of even the smallest graphic. Just wonder if there is some setting in FF I've missed that might help this.

Checked cookies in my Firefox profile and there are a ton of them in there.

Thanks... Raybro

Answer:Solved: Firefox page load time

Your "ISP" could be the culprit to slow browsing. I tried several and have settled on "" [] with great satisfaction. I use SeaMonkey as my browser, and it allows use of a proxy, which TOAST accommodates. It makes all the difference in the world! Further, TOAST provides a multi-setting accelerator that really does work. I use "maximum" for sites where graphics display is not important and "very good" when I am downloading pictures, which I do every day.

p.s. No broadband available where I am.

Here is the problem. We have everything locked down on our network, with approved web sites on the whitelist. At one of our locations, a particular pc takes 5-10 minutes to load onlyone particular web page. All other approved websites/pages load fine. The other pc's near his load it almost immediately. It's actually a link he clicks, which opens this page in another window. The only other problem I noticed was a Java error. The guy said he updated java a couple weeks ago and ever since then, he gets this error msg when he logs on saying something like "server not found". All pc's are running windows xp professional and IE6.

Any help/suggestions are much appreciated!

Answer:Solved: One page take long time to load...tough one

clear cache/cookies/history and try again. Also try manually loading the page, instead of from the bookmark.

If this fails, try uninstalling the Java the user installed, and see if the problem goes away. If it does, reprimand the user. ;-)

I have a single webpage on a clients computer that will not load and I am at a loss as to why.  Everyone else in the building, hooked up to the same network can access it fine and sometimes the page even loads halfway then just stops.  It is a website that allows users to log into our citrix environment.  This user was able to log into the site fine a few days ago but yesterday and today it will not load for him.  I have tried clearing the browser cache and tried loading it in IE and firefox to no avail.  any other ideas what to do?  He is running windows 7 btw.

Answer:single web page will not load

Ok so I managed to get the system working properly again.  I uninstalled and reinstalled both IE and firefox and that solved the problem.

Hi all,

Windows XP Home
IE6/Firefox 0.8
56k Dial-up
The past few days while tabbing (Firefox) from one site to another I started getting "Page Load Error-Address Could Not be Found". It was rather annoying to see the page trying to open and then after waiting to get the error message.

I was going crazy trying to figure it out. I do frequent (after updating to latest reference files) Spybot, Ad-aware, HijackThis, NortonAV scans - have SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster. Also Defragged and used CleanUp! which I use about every other day. I completed all those and was still getting the slow page loading and errors.

I was blaming the Firefox Browser until I opened my Internet Explorer and the same thing happened.

Of course, having Dial-up doesn't help but, for now, I'm stuck with it.

Then it hit me (here comes the DUH!! factor)....when was the last time I had deleted my Temporary Internet Files? I could not even remember it had been so long. I opened IE>Tools>Internet Options and deleted the TIF's. Also went to Firefox>Tools>Options>Cache and cleared that.

So far I have NOT received any Page Load Error's (but it's only been a few hours) which leads me to my question....other than what I have already completed, is there anything else I could have done, any program I could be using, that would help eliminate/avoid this problem in the future?

Thank you for any advice or suggestions,

Question: page load error

Hi, I'm experiencing connection problems when I use the internet.
majority of the pages that I try to enter shows this error:

Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

It happens for most of the sites.
Other than the pages that has error, the rest worked perfectly fine.

This happened a day ago, after a firefox update to 3.0.2.
IE version is 7.

Can anyone provide a solution? Thanks.

Answer:page load error

What is your internet connection? ADSL,GPRS,RAS DIAL?
If you ping sites like or such do you get constant ping replies,
Have you recently installed any network monitoring software (there drivers sometimes do what your explaining) I would try upgrade by network card drivers or do a system restore and check if it is defiantly the firefox update - good luck

Tuff one to pick which forum to post this. I believe it is probably some sort of setting somewhere, so general OS seemed best. Move it if you like.

Now the problem. I run my main system through my server, for net, which is connected by my 1000base hub. Both system run Win7 Ultimate. Web sites fail to load, but it isn't your standard wait, wait, wait, timeout. This is instant. I click a link and BAM, Server not found..
I have to hit the refresh button, the usually the page will come up. Sometimes it is slow, sometimes fine, and other times will timeout and I have to refresh again, or weirdly sometimes an old-school looking page with just links, no nice layout and GFX.
I'm not exactly sure when this started. I run the current version of Firefox.
Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this? It wasn't always like this. And it is gotten quite frustrating.

Answer:Web page load error

I get that a lot. A weak Internet connection (cannot find server cuz there's nothing with which to find it) will do that pretty quickly and pretty frequently.

Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird capriciously stop working.I can't open anything or send or receive email. I get a msg headed Page Load Error with the option to try again which almost never helps., with some things they think I might be doing wrong. They don't apply as I 've changed nothing. The only way I can get back in business is to turn the computer off. Also turn off power which includes modem and monitor etc. Then boot up again.Works ok for a while and then happens again.

How old is your system? Possibly a network interface card malfunction. Any other machines in use at that location that use the same method of connecting to the internet and suffer the same? Just happens with Firefox, Thunerbird, or other web browsers as well? Dial Up, DSL, Cable, Wireless? How much space do you allow for the cache? Do you ever clear private data, clean the cache? Ever used about:config?

Using IE with all the updates and only a few plugins, I am getting error messages seemingly at random. Of course this happens from time to time but in the last month or so it is very frequent. It seemingly happens at random, one page on a website will work fine, the next wont. and then it will keep happening to that one page.
What happens is the page loads up but as soon as its done the error message comes up "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site Operation aborted.
Even though the page is right there behind the message. I cant scroll to read the page while the message is on, so I hit the OK button and it gives me the "The page cannot be loaded" screen. If I try refreshing the page, the exact same thing happens. The other pages on the same website work fine (ie. it is a game review, other game reviews on the site work fine) This is just one example, its happening alot.
I'm the kind of person who is very careful about what he installs. I can provide a hijackthis log if necessary.

Hi, I have windows xp, service pack 2, Hughesnet satellite is the internet connection with a proxy. It seems with both Firefox and IE, most sites that require a log in with password will not load ( address not found error )
I have run Spybot and CCleaner, removed all other anti-virus programs, but still no luck. With a dioal-up connection on another computer, everything works fine, so I was wondering if this has something to do with the broadband connection, even though Hughesnet tells us this is a computer problem. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Answer:Address Not Found Page Load Error

You probably need to set your secure HTTP proxy port and not just your HTTP port.

Are the sites that are not working all trying to go to https:// and not http://

Every few google searches I have the following problem. I enter my search, and get my results page fine. Then, when I click on the page I want I get the following message on the screen (with the correct address in the address bar)

Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

The computer and connection is not running slow. This happens right away. So then I click or highlight the address bar and hit Enter as if I typed the address and it goes right to it. It's happening every few times or so.

I wasn't sure if this was a firefox issue or a windows issue. So far I've gone to Windows Security (I have Vista) and deleted Firefox and I also tried adding it but checking it as an exception. Neither seemed to solved the issue.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Answer:Page load error question - Firefox or Windows?

Welcome sfran7!

Try typing about:config in your addy bar. In the page that appears (you'll get a warning to be careful first!) type browser.urlbar in the search bar at top and look for and the figure you have in the value should be 100. If it isn't, double click and enter 100. If it is, try adding more time by upping the number.

Please update your drivers to your network card:

sptd.sys needs to be removed from your system very important download this and run it and click uninstall:

After you do that lets see how stable the system is after that and if you have anymore issues please let us know, I'm gonna continue looking through your logs so check back to this post for any updates that I may leave.

Edit: I'm also seeing some problems with your video card drivers and one of the dumps points to hardware which is pointing to the video card, so update those to the latest from nvidias website and unistall the old drivers by using driver sweeper: get the installer and then boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper and select the nvidia box and run the analyze then the clean buttons and then reboot back to normal mode and then install nvidias latest drivers package.

Everytime I try to load a page it fails to connect until I hit refresh and then it's ok. What I know:
Not the browser, tried Chrome, Firefox, Torch (And IE just for shits and giggles) but no dice with any one of them.
Not the modem, other systems on this network work fine.
Not the hardware. Prior to a format on this PC everything was O.K. and then it wasn't, I ain't an onion in terms of computer hardware and I'm quite positive nothing went wrong there.
It could be the OS, hopefully not, but this issue cropped up ever since I formatted in the hopes of cleaning up the system a bit from crap. I moved to Windows 8.1 now.
It could be the driver. I tried downloading new ones for my mobo - Asus Sabertooth x58 but they don't seem to work, I did use a generic one however so maybe that's the issue.
It could be the settings somehow - Trying ipconfig /flushdns - works, but ipconfig /renew doesn't.

CMD Error on ipconfig /renew: The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation.

Ethernet adapter Ethernet should be the connection I'm using. I have set this connection as manual in the hopes of eliminated the DHCP but no luck solving it.

got a couple of win 10 ent machines which are having issues using ie 11 to get to an intranet page, which links to pdfs which exist on a local server.
Edge gets there fine on the same machine, but there is an issue with edge, so we can't use it for most things.
If I copy the url from the address line in ie11 and paste it in an explorer window it gets to the pdf with no problems, and I can also paste it into chrome and edge, although chrome won't allow the link to opened at all.
I have uninstalled and re-installed ie11 and made sure other pdfs work, which they do.

I have an Access 2000 database that I'm having some problems with. First, it's using replication, and I need to get away from that. So I'm creating a new database and bringing all the existing objects into it. The new database is in Access 2002-2003 format (according to Access) at this point, but I am working on it in Access 2010 (every copy we had of Access 2003 running older machines was destroyed in Tropical Storm Irene). I note at this point that I didn't write this code or create this database. It was built a long time ago by one employee who retired and doesn't remember much about the database, and another who retired and had added on it I can't even get to answer my emails right now. This database was originally written in Access '97, then converted to an Access 2000 database and it hasn't been touched with conversions since then. So, to the actual problem:

When I try to open up the first, most important form in the database, I get this error:
Compile Error: User-defined type not defined.

And it's highlighting a line of code that reads:
Dim Cmd As ADODB.Command

I tried doing some searching for this error and added a reference to ActiveX Data Objects 6.0 library based on some of what I read. That didn't help. I'm not entirely sure what this sub is trying to accomplish, and so it's hard for me to figure out if these ADODB commands even make any sense to be doing when everything is self-contained (this databas... I have a Satellite M45-S265 with Windows XP. Even though I have moved to a foreign country and then moved home again, I have not lost my recovery CD!

However, my computer went to get repaired under a Best Buy service policy. It came back with new motherboard, new keyboard, new hard drive (blank), new CD drive, and I don't know what else new. I guess the 3rd world environment was pretty hard on it (dust, humidity, heat) so it needed lots of new stuff.

Now, when I use the recovery CD, it seems to do everything OK, up until it is asking me my settings. After settings it tells me it will reboot and it does, and when it comes back up it gets a blue screen with the error "page fault in non-page area"

Technical information from the blue screen:

Stop: 0x00000050 (0xA9A35A00, 0x00000000, 0x805C52BA, 0x00000000)

win29a51.sys Address A9A35A00, base at A9A35A00, date stamp 00000000

When I cycle the power, windows looks like it is going to start up. Then I get a nice little windows box with the message "The system is not fully installed. Please run setup again."

I am wondering if the recovery CD won't work because perhaps now there is a different brand of hard drive in there, or different CD, with different drivers?

Or, did Best Buy do something wrong and I should take the computer back to them?

Initial searching the internet indicates the problem might be faulty RAM?

What should I do?

Answer:Gettings error message: Error page fault in non-page area

sounds clearly like a RAM related problem. I would recommend to bring the machine to a technician and let him check the RAM memory because such page fault errors occur when something was written into the RAM and then if the operating system asks for the files the block in the memory module cannot be accessed which causes the mentioned error.

Yesterday I started receiving quite a lot of malware possibilities that I quarantined and ultimately deleted . Today while surfing the internet I got the blue screen that refered to a page in non page area and a file called stfc.sys(or something like that).
Now whenever I turn the PC on and log in it only take a minute until the error appears again. I have also tried to get the minidumps but I had no luck for when I tried copying them the PC always crashes.
I have interested in the possible causes for why this happens and noticed a RAM issue. A weird coincidence since a few weeks back one of my RAM chips was damaged and I got a new one.
So besides the malware I also suspect this RAM issue and maybe overheating(however I did let it cool down for almost a day until now).
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance, TheCakeMaker
Until then I'll keep trying to get the minidumps

Answer:Page From Non-page error and stfc.sys error. Suspect malware interference

I can't get hold of the minidumps. When I try to copy them the system crashes under the beloved power of the blue screen.

Hi Everyone:
Can you help me with this issue please?
I am building a database in Access 2007, windows7, it works perfectly well on my computer where i am building it; but one feature doesn't work on another computer that also has the OP system and Access version.
when you're working in one form with one record, you click on a button that will open another form and filter the records to show only the profile of the same person. the error message it gives is: Run-time error '3000 ': Reserved Error (-3201); there is no message for this error.
i will show below the code where it debugs. I'd appreciate any help with that.
(Again: it works well on my computer, but gives that message on another computer)

Private Sub Find_in_Bio_Click()

Hello there. I have been redirected here by jamanji, whom has been most helpful by the way.
My PC crashed a little over a week ago.
Rather than retype everything, I would like to give you the link to my post.
I am not 'Tech' per se, but I would like to try and resolve my problem myself,
To make a long story short... I had error 0xc000000f. I have 2 threads on the subject, but the first thread was useless.( I think)
I read gregrocker's tutorial.
I made a Kaspersky Disc. I have a Pop Up from Kaspersky.
saying if I continue...........

Here are the links.

confused by what type of disc to use

Error 0xc000000f

If you read this...Thank you for your time.

Answer:Burnt out from error error error! Time to go back to Paper.

Ok mate one thing straight up the Kaspersky only requires a CD you can use a DVD but seriously a waste of useable space. Have been using Kaspersky security and tis rescue disk for years now so just the CD mate.

Just follow the prompts when you run the disk. It will boot (of course) but will not need Windows to do anything.

There are other options -

Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CD for Windows: Free Download any are good and again do not require Wndows to run.

If you can get it going then I would try this < the top scanner TDSS Killer

Recently, whenever i turn on my computer. It will take quite a while to load the welcoming page (The green page).
Usually it took around 1-2 seconds. I've tried updating windows and anti virus scan but the problem still persist.

Anyone have any idea what went wrong?

Im using home premium 64-bit

Answer:Takes a long time to load at welcome page

It use to take 1-2 SECOND?????

I don't think so unless your system was hibernated or in whatever sleep mode is.

Could be it is not going into sleep or hibernate (whatever those 2 things are) anymore and really shutting down. So when you go to start it up it has to do the motherboard POST (Power On Self Test) and then load Windows.
Which will take much longer then coming out of hibernate or sleep.

I have Embarq - Prism internet and tv and all that, i live in FL and here's my problem.
My wireless internet works fine, it loads at optimal speed and has 0 problems.
My desktop however does not.
My desktop is wired directly to the router and has no wireless association whatsoever. Now All of my games do not seem to lag, and if they do, I can't tell, (maybe graphics related a tiny bit but w/e).
My INTERNET i.e. Opera, IExplorer (all of which are fully updated and all of which have the same issue) seem to have a 30-35 second period in between when I click the link and when I actually see a web page load in in any form.
1. Click
2. Wait 30-32 seconds staring at a white screen
3. BAM. Google loads in all the way

Another thing is that ONCE I am connected TO a site (youtube for instance) it allows me to travel that site at a regular, high speed like it SHOULD.

You may think to run a virus scan. I have Nod32, ESET smart security and it has found nothing on a very detailed scan that took half a day.

I have called the company and they have done everything they say they can.

I connected my ethernet cord i use for the desktop into my laptop and disabled wireless connection, and it works fine on the laptop.

So I am at the conclusion it is something wrong with my computer, or incompatibility with their software/hardware.

I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING i know how to do and failed, i CANNOT shake this problem one bit and neither can anyone els... Read more

Hi. Wondering if anyone can help me. Recently, Explorer opens fine, my dial-up connection is sound, but the first page upon opening explorer won't load. I then close Explorer, re-start it and the page poads fine, as do all pages for the rest of my browsing. Seems to have issues only for the first page it loads. The last few days, when I try to close Explorer to "re-set it" it won't close unless I use task manager. Any ideas on how to solve these issues? Would sincerely appreciate the help.

Answer:Explorer opens, won't d-load page first time

Hello and welcome to TSF

I think the problem is when you make the connection, IE already starts to load a page and if there is no connection for IE to load of you will get a message saying page can not be displayed.

Hope that helps

For some time now... I've been thinking of creating a multimedia server.. where It would be possible to stream music and videos to the server, Record shows via server, A File storage server.... So.. I was thinking of using one machine and put multiple virtual machines on it....

Now, my question is to you that.. Is there any way to run programs on server without having to boot up a OS on each one of the virtual machines... this way, there would be very little load on the machine with, fast boot times... it would be greatly appreciated...

P.S: The comp I'm using is old (2002 comp) and I don't expect it to run heavy loads...I currently don't have any specs of the comp with me at the moment...

Answer:Solved: Single Server with minimal load

Each VM will require resources (ie: cpu power and RAM). You are basically dividing up the cpu/RAM into chunks. If you are using an old 2002 PC, you likely don't have the necessary hardware to get decent performance.

With the exception of "recording", you could do everything else on a basic PC running XP. Recording, depending on what exactly you are trying to do, can be hardware intensive (ie: cpu and HDD).

Hey folks. Forgive my ignorance, I've searched the forums and found nothing on this problem...

I have a Toshiba Satellite A75-S226 computer, supposedly running XP.

When you power up the machine, it displays the toshiba logo for a few seconds, the only option is to press F2 for setup.

Then, as it exits that screen, all there is is a message that says:
Load Error!
press any key to reboot...

Of coarse, pressing any key does not reboot, it just looks like the letters refresh when I hit any key-

I have a recovery disk but I think its old because when I put it in it says starting Windows 98??? and says that it will be restored with original factory settings and all data will be lost. - I don't think I'm ready to give in to this option at this point.

Furthermore, after cancelling out of this recovery disk it takes me to MS-DOS prompt with the A: drive

when I try to change it to c: - it says Invalid drive specification -

Can anyone help me out? I have no Idea what to do???

Thanks in advance!

Answer:[SOLVED] Load Error! - thats all I have

Can you get into safe mode? Repeatedly press F8 and F5 see if they get you anywhere.
Toshiba recommends that you reinstall the OS.

Also, try this and see if it works for you. It requires an XP cd so you'll have to find yours or borrow one.

Hello Bleepers.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I am seeing somewhat strange when running IE 9 on my windows 7 desktop of late:
whenever I go to certain pages examples I see the page loading up incorrectly 1st time and I have to refresh or hit F5 to properly get IE 9 to load the page.
screen shot of how it looks can be found here:
Further I am seeing that when clicking on some links on websites in IE 9  (clinking on news links at for example) a pop up Error that reads "Internet explorer has stopped working"  appears but if I ignore that warning and close the box I can click the link again and the site comes up anyhow.
These issues do not occur in Chrome the pages loads fine 1st time and the links open fine so whatever I have it appears to be isolated primarily to IE 9.
Also my Bank page seems slow and is redirecting when I attempt to log in from to  (which could be normal and I've not noticed it or could be something more sinister.)  that occurs in either browser
Ran MBAM and TDS Killer which come up with Nada
Please advise.

I have Norton Antivirus and I have run Malwarebytes but nothing was found...

any other idea what could be causing this issue?
this is happening in 2 machines in fact both got infected by the same usb with that virus

thanks a lot

Answer:Weird "Page Load Error" after autorun.inf virus

Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need to clean the USB drive and all PCs where it was used.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Answer:"Page Failed to Load" error attempting to change my Win7-64bit display

Run the system file check again. Sometimes it requires multiple runs. Reboot after each run (or before the first run if you have not rebooted since the last time you ran the check).Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

I am working on a XP (unsure of SP, I assume 3 as it was used often) computer that won't load XP past the XP loading screen with the moving bar at the bottom. After that screen, it goes black and then pops up w/a blue screen that says "Registry_Error" and that it finished a physical memory dump.

Recovery console recognized that Windows was there but got the same screen when attempting to load Windows.

I've been told that there are some Outlook contacts and past e-mails on the hard drive that are needed. Can anyone help me w/this problem w/out reloading Windows or physically moving the hard drive to another computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer:[SOLVED] XP won't load; Registry Error

You can still save your files (incl .pst for your Outlook) if you install another XP (dual boot), you may try the Repair, but I doubt that it will resolve the problem. Do a fresh install but do not format the hard drive, just install another XP.

Hi people,
I have a computer that is running windows xp and every once in a while it comes up with a runtime error and then asks me if I want to fix it. What is a runtime error? Is it a virus or something? or is it nothing to be too concerned about? I have McAffee virus scan on this computer and I was wondering if that is sufficient for surfing the internet safely? Here are the system requirements for this computer:
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Build 2600
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 4 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~800 Mhz
Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 324.34 MB
Total Virtual Memory 1.72 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.39 GB

Is there enough memory to add more protection, if needed, from viruses and spyware without slowing down the computer? Thanks in advance for your help.

A few months ago my computer started slowing down, and here and there I would get a RUN TIME ERROR that would pop. One day I was on the internet and my computer froze. When I did a hard reboot, my computer stopped working completely and I couldn't get it to turn on after that. Well needless to say I've replaced my motherboard and power supply and finally my computer is up and running again. Well just recently I went to a website..I believe it was like Budget Rentals or One of those for sure. All of a sudden, the RUN TIME ERROR came up again and asked me if I wanted to Debug or Cancel. I just hit cancel cause I don't know what the Debug button would do. I'm afraid this might mess up my computer again. What is RUN TIME ERROR and how do I get rid of it? OR how do I prevent it?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to be asking about run-time error but anyway, every so often I get an error message saying that there is a 'Run-time error "75", i have browsed the internet about it a bit and think it has something to do with part of a program missing and therefore there being an error when it opens, however, i don't know which program it is and i presume that because it isn't a program i start myself then it must be part of Vista and it tries to open it automatically and doesn't work properly. I don't know how to work out which program it is and was hoping that you could help me with this?

It doesn't slow my computer down or anything and it runs fine with whatever it is it's just a bit annoying having it pop up every so often and i want to make sure theres nothing severely wrong with the computer.

just to specify the error message reads:

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<customErrors mode="Off"/>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

Answer:Solved: run time error

This usually means that the application is crashing on the server, not on your system. If you give me the link I could test it and see if I get the same results.

Hi everyone. Happy New Year!

Was looking at other threads about this and ran across a post from Rainforest:
I apologize for entering the thread so late and do not intend to step on any toes.

Where the ethernet cable connects to your computer, are there lights / LEDs? If so, what colors?

RIGHT click "computer" / "my computer".
Left click "manage"
Maximize the screen.
On the left, left click "device manager".
On the right, look for "network adapters".
Across the top, left click "view".
Left click show / display "hidden devices".

If "+" sign, left click.
Provide the entries.

If a "-", are there any yellow or red marks?

Do you have another ethernet cable you can use to connect your computer to your router?

RF123 Click to expand...

When I do that I have yellow exclamation mark by IntelIde and PartMgr. Could this have anything to do with it.

Second question there was second issue related saying that my connection was firewalled. If a firewall was installed, and not properly uninstalled (no visible tracks) how would I know?

On top of this I just installed Firefox and I can get internet pages but not IE. This is XP Pro Sp3

Answer:Solved: Cant get an IE page says winsock error....

For IE, check Tools, Internet Options, Connections. Click on the LAN button and uncheck ALL the boxes and save the results.

If that doesn't work, I'd reset IE to defaults and see if that helps.

I also cannot load the eBay web pages.

Well this is not a major problem but annoying to me anyway. Whenever I click on links for coupons online, for example, or Upromise links if you are familiar with Upromise, I get the message page cannot be displayed. I do a lot of online shopping and I used to be able to do this. I tried shutting my zone alarm, and also spybot, etc., to see if that was the culprit but it does not seem to be. When I click on the upromise link, i get a popup that says "congratulations, you have qualified for such and such a discount" but the actual web page for the store, will not open, says it cannot be displayed. So I can't get my online rebates for the Upromise account, or any coupons that are through links. But all other links, like google, and the like, are fine. Is it some security setting in IE?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I solved my problem. It was a host file shield in Spysweeper. I turned it off and everything works now.

On my network (Workgroup) I have two window 7 machines and a Vista machine. Lately, regardless of which machine I am on, when I try to access any webpage I get the "Page Not Found" error, or something close to that. I have a very simple web page that automatically updates daily. However, very often when I view it I just get the version that is in my browser cache rather than the latest version from the web. I have to do a manual refresh from the browser to see the latest version. Not a problem for me, but other viewers of the page may not realize they aren't seeing the latest information.

Is there an HTML tag or some such that can be included in the page that will force a refresh and override any old version that the viewer may still have in their browser cache?

When trying to open my Incredimail Program I receive an error message:

Keylib error: #15 -> FILE MISSINGClick to expand...

Has anyone else had this problem?

Answer:Solved: Critical Error: Incredimail won't load! Please Help!

Have you tried doing an Incredimail repair?

If not, go to the add/remove programs and click on the change/remove button. When you do, a window will pop up asking you want you want to do and giving you the option to do a repair, upgrade, or uninstall. Choose the repair option and click okay. It will check files and such and repair the program. Some of your customizations for folders might be set back to the original folder name in your skins, animations, and letters, but you will not lose anything.

I continually get a pop up error message can't read skumap whenever I open any program. The box indicates this is a quicken file. I can't find this file. I have tried uninstalling Quicken and reinstalling it. At this time I can't load Quicken because the computer thinks it is already running. There must be a hidden file somewhere. This problem is not unique to me, but so far I haven't found anyone who can help solve the problem.

Answer:Solved: Quicken error - can't load skumap

You didn't say which version of Quicken you are using -- mine is 2007. I ran a search and found it: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Inet\Common\Content\skumap.dat

Try a search for skumap.dat and see if you can find it like I did.

I don't even know where to begin, this has been a very frustrating problem. We are using Windows XP, Visual 2008, and Access 2007 and this issue crops up when Access VBA 2007 tries to call a sub-routine in a object. The error is Run-Time Error 91: Object variable or With block Variable not set. This error is caught by Access VBA 2007.

This is the VBA code. I've obviously modified things to keep private information private. Also, this is not for a P2P or file-sharing program, it's actually something I'm stumped on at work. It's just a program that uploads a batch of local files to the company FTP after the user has generated a batch of information. I'm not really allowed to go into more depth than that about the program's purpose.
Sub UploadFiles(strFiles() As Variant, strOriginPath As String)
Const USERNAME As String = "fakeusername"
Const PASSWORD As String = "fakepassword"
Const SERVER As String = ""
Const DESTINATION As String = "/Local Directory/"
Dim blnFound As Boolean
Dim ftpFile As VBFTPProgram.Connect
Dim L As Long, M As Long
Dim strDeadFiles() As Variant

'Step 2: Kill the files already in the server folder.

However, when i pass it through VBA it gives me a syntax run-time error

""Run time error '-2147217900 (80040e14)'""

but when i run it directly in the target database it executes perfectly without any errors.
Any ideas anyone what could be the reason.
Please help and thanks in advance.

Answer:Solved: INSERT into - Run-time error

The error code is an "Invalid SQL statement" error. My initial guess based on the phrasing of your post is that the target database is on a different platform than Access. What type of database object are you using for the transaction? ODBC? Depending on your version of Access (if you are in fact using Access), I believe the default type for database objects formerly was ADO, to which (I think) this specific error applies.

If I'm correct so far, the VBA run-time compiler is choking on the SQL statement when you try to execute the string in an ADO object environment. I couldn't say exactly why; the syntax looks correct enough. My only guess is the length of the string is the problem in that case. Or perhaps the ADO object doesn't support an INSERT/SELECT construction.

I guess what I'm saying is, I think the database object type is the culprit.

I've run into a hijacking thats got me stumped.
I've already cleaned up most of the junk that was on the pc.
Internet optimizer
My daily horoscope
Just to name a few...

The hijack log is after I worked on it using adaware, cws, hjt and Lsp fix.
The host file entries suddenly appeared after I connected back to the net.
They weren't in any of the previous logs I ran while cleaning the pc.

I was asked to look at the computer because something was trying to access
the net. They use AOL dialup. A dialog box appears every 30 seconds to a minute
stating " No connection found , would I like to work offline or try connecting again."
( I can't remember the exact phrasing) I always chose work offline.

So just to see what would happen I got the pc online thru aol.
I brought up IE ( he doesn't use IE to surf the net, he uses aol's browser ).
Went to google and within a few seconds IE was redirected to....I'm not quite sure.
See Attachment...( I shortened up the image to make the file smaller )

Of course that dialog box that kept appearing every 30 seconds or so stopped
so I'm guessing its related to what redirected IE.

Let me add that I had 2 screenshots I was going to post but one file got corrupted.
In essence it was very similar to the one I attached except in the address bar
instead of saying NetworkD at the end, it said Cydoor.

Everytime I went to google, within a few seconds IE was redirected... Read more
