Mouse driver not signed?

Question: Mouse driver not signed?

I recently got a docking station for my laptop (Dell precision M65 w/WinXP Pro SP3 all updates) and when I plugged it in (after all the plug-n-play stuff detected the new docking station stuff), the mouse plugged into the dock USB port would not work (it worked fine previously when plugged into the laptop USB port). I undocked and plugged the mouse back into the laptop's port but it still didn't work.

I went into the device management applet and and tried to update the driver. There was nothing under "Mice and other pointing devices" except the PS/2 touchpad. Under "Human Interface Devices" there was an entry called "HID-Compliant device" If I deleted that device and then did a "scan for hardware changes" I would get the "found new hardware" popup in the tray and then breifly see "Dell USB Optical Mouse" during which the mouse would work but within 2 or 3 seconds it would switch to "HID-Compliant device" and then inform me that my hardware was ready to use at which point the mouse stopped working.

After much screwing around with the device manager and various other USB mice, I found that I could use the "Update Driver" right-click menu item to force the driver to "HID-Compliant mouse" by bypassing all the "Automatic" stuff. This resuted in a working mouse, but I have to do this every time I turn on the laptop.

I have noticed that while following the dialogs during the above procedure, the "HID-Compliant mouse" driver shows up with "This driver is not digitally signed!" According to what I've read, this forces the generic "HID-Compliant device" to a higher score since it is "signed" and gets installed automatically unless you force the mouse as above.

Best I can tell my mouse driver is the same as it has ever been and once forced into operation, the driver properties show that it is signed. The files (mouclass.sys and mouhid.sys) match other winxp sp3 systems time and date stamps and filesizes.

Ever since the first docking of the computer no matter what my configuration is during bootup, I have to re-install my mouse manually. I'm at my wits end having to do this every time I move my computer between home and work.

Preferred Solution: Mouse driver not signed?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,
I'm at my wits end. Anyone who can help would be my hero.

Acer 5253 laptop, Win7 Home Premium 64bit SP1, AMD C-50.

Trying to use a USB mouse. I have 3 logitech mice. None work because hidclass.sys and hidusb.sys are not digitally signed. If I f8 and disable driver signing enforcement, all 3 mice work, so I'm pretty certain that's the issue.

Tried "Update Driver" via device manager. Windows determined that I already had the best driver and wouldn't do anything.

Logitech does not furnish drivers for Win7. They rely on the native drivers.

Acer does not furnish mouse drivers. They refer you to the manufacturer of the mouse.

Tried copying the files in question from a 64bit machine that showed them to be digitally signed. Renamed the ones on my machine and pasted the ones from the "good" machine. Resolved nothing.

chkdsk /r found problems and repaired them. Didn't help.

sfc /scannow found problems that it could not resolve. Looked in CBS.log and found no references to either of the sys files in question. No resolution.

System Restore only had one restore point, and it was from 2 days ago. Problem was already noticed by then. I suspect that it's been this way since I purchased the laptop a couple of months ago anyway, but if there had been a restore point back at the very beginning, I'd have tried that.

I don't know much about digital signing of drivers. I've seen in a couple of threads that I might be able to sign the drivers myself, ... Read more

Answer:Windows mouse driver files not digitally signed

Mike

Obviously many more problems than just the mouse driver.

You can use earlier drivers (ie from vista, or even XP) if you install them in compatibility mode
[right click the installer>properties>compatibility>chose OS]

The other system problems need a repair install.

Am trying to install HP Deskjet 630c printer and it keeps telling me this driver is not digitally signed. I just put Windows xp on the computer. What does this mean and can I get help? I am not very computer literate and any help would greatly appreciated. Many thanks Paula.

Answer:driver is not digitally signed

"Not digitally signed" means Microsoft have not tested this driver and verified it to be compatible with Win XP.  This does not mean it will not work, you should click on the "continue anyway" to install your print driver.  If this is a concern you should check the HP web site for newer driver tested by MS.Kim

I have been trying now to install drivers for my Panasonic Digital Camera, which installs itself as a ZIP drive (it uses a 3.5 100MB ZiP disk instead of memory cards), and Fusion Dazzle which is an analog to digital convereter. Both plug in via USB. They used to work perfectly until I had to reformat and reinstall Windows on my computer.

I now get an error message that it is missing certain files (which ARE on the system) and it is looking for "C:\PCLEUSB.drv". When I point it to the correct driver location I get an error message saying that this driver has not been digitally signed to be compatible for Windows XP and will now exit installation.

I am using the most current drivers from the manufacturer and they say that they are Windows compatible and I am the first to have this problem. So far, they have been unable to assist.

Any suggestions?
Ed

Answer:Driver not Windows XP signed

usually the program will ask you if you want to continue, I have never experienced where it just "exited" on it's own. I always continue regardless but it is up to the user.

I'll try to keep this brief:

> Upgraded GFX cards to 2 x Asus EAH4980 (ATI Radeon HD4890 architecture) from NVidia 8800GTS

> Performed full format on HD and reinstalled Windows Vista X64 Home Premium as well as SP1 and SP2

> Installed chipset drivers etc.

> Installed bundled VGA drivers (8.592)

> Installed miscellaneous software/games

System was running very stable and performing well in Benchmarking tests and games. I then tried to update the VGA drivers to the latest versions, first from ATI's own website - Catalyst 9.8 with VGA driver displayed in Device Manager as 8.640 - and then from Asus' website - displayed as 8.630 in Device Manager.

No matter what drivers I update to I am met with BSOD errors as soon as I try to run any kind of media on my PC. The dump files/dxdiag info etc. is attached to this post.

Upon investigation I note that one driver is not loading and is listed as 'not digitally signed', namely

ATKDispLowFilter.sys

This driver is an AsusTek release. It appears to load ok before I perform these driver updates. I can find no reference to any issues with it either on Asus' forums or elsewhere so this doesn't appear to be a common problem.

I've tried to locate a signed version of the driver to no avail.

Any solution would be very much appreciated.

Phil

Good evening,

I just reinstalled XP on a friends machine that was pooched. It is a Dell DIM4400. Everything is working except for the sound card. It is a built in sound card. When the computer boots up the new hardware wizard comes up asking for a driver for a realtek AC97 Audio device. I have tried everything I can to install the driver but each time I try I get an error that the driver is not digitally signed and it won't install. If I try in safe mode it installs but I get a blue screen upon startup and have to reboot. I do not have the orignial Dell cd but I have tried every driver from the Dell site that should work on this model of computer. I have updated the chip set drivers on the motherboard etc. I just can't get this sound card to work. Any advice??

G'day. I'm trying to install my old VisionPLus DVB-T card into a Windows 7 O/S box and it won't recognise any of the old drivers. When I try to install the TwinHan Digital tv software, Windows can't/ won't install them.

I've downloaded and tried the latest (DigitalTV 3.4 Build 19-02_20090212) and windows comes up with "Driver not found". I've tried to install in compatability mode but still no good.

When installing the above, it identifies my card as “PCI CX-87A with MCU DVB-S/-C/-T/ATSC card”.

Out of all the available drivers on Twinhan's site, which would be the best for my card?

Thanks

The one written for Vista would be my choice, probably not one for W7 yet, may never be.

Looks like MS ha removed a way to disable unsigned drivers protection in Vista64, so probably is the same for 7

Hi, I finally have my File System mini-filter driver working great, and tested it a lot on Vista 64-bit using the testsigning boot option. All was fine.

However, when I turn testsigning OFF and try to start the service (the driver), I get the StartService failed with 577 - windows cannot verify the digital signature. Note that the driver in INSTALLED, and the Registry is updated, etc. I just can't start the service (even when running as Admin).

It is signed using a Microsoft cross-certificate, based on the original certificate issued by GlobalSign, as directed in MSDN. You can examine the certificate using the driver's properties, and all looks fine.

I also tried installing the certificate, but that made no difference. This should all be correct, except that it doesn't work!! Any idea what is going on here? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I thought I was all done with this project, but since it doesn't work, I am currently screwed. THANKS!

Hey,

So I just upgrade to Vista x64 and 4GB of memory (courtesy of OCZ).

However, when installing the x64 version of MagicDisc/MagicISO I get the following error:

Can I get around this?

Answer:Required Digitally Signed Driver?

Uhmmm... yes, you can by pressing F8 at boot time and choosing to ignore the warnings about unsigned drivers, but you have to do it each and every time you boot. There is a way to permanently disable that driver signing requirement but I'm leery to give out the info anymore since it hosed a few people's machines recently.

It wasn't my fault that they chose to continue using shitty old drivers, but they blamed me for the mistake they made anyway.

Vista x64 is a more secure and stable OS than the 32 bit version, and that's one of the primary reasons why: the driver signing requirement. Disabling it or 'getting around it' will more than likely end up causing you issues at some point.

Google can find the specific method to disable the signing requirement permanently, or a search here might find it since it's been posted about 3 times over the past 4 months or so.

Good luck, either way...

Hi

The last few times I started my computer, the system comes with the warning:

"Windows requires a digitally signed driver
Driver: Broadcom NetDetect Driver
Service: BASFND
Publisher: Broadcom Corporation
Location: C:\Program Files\Bra...\BASFND.sys"

Windows suggests to uninstall the program or device that uses this driver and check the publishers support site to get a digitally signed driver.

The problem is that I have no idea of which program or hardware is using this driver. All the drivers I have installed in my computer are from the computer manufacturer.
I have also been at Broadcoms homepage and there is plenty of things to download there. But I dont want to ruin anything.

Suggestions on what to do?

System: Windows Vista 64

Answer:Windows requires a digitally signed driver

Broadcom is your onboard ethernet, I don't see why it would suddenly complain unless there was an update.:confused You can disable driver signing but it only cures the symptom and not the cause.

MAIN Problem #1:

Hi I'm wondering if anyone knows if i can find a Microsoft Certified Display adapter/video card driver (are those the same thing?) for my :
ASUS AGP-V7100 Geforce2 MX video card.

runnig win98/SE on a VIA chipset

The reason i ask is because when i look at my drivers through the DirectX diagnostic tool 's display tab it shows my driver as 'nvdisp.drv' and in the 'notes' sections adds :

" The file nvdisp.drv is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs. You may be able to get a signed driver from the manufacturer of the hardware device"

but when i look through the ASUS home page i can't find my video card. I know my driver is from NVIDIA and i've found the right page to update from them but i'm also wanting to update my chipset driver from VIA and they warn of compatibility problems with NVIDIA so i'm looking for a "signed" "certified" or "standard" adpater/driver?

I am having a heck of a time. I have installed Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit and the ASUS P5QC mobo I have came with an unsigned 64 bit Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller

I called ASUS tech support and talked to them and as of this time, they have only a beta version of the 64 bit signed driver. Vista is not accepting the driver and is considering it as unsigned, so I am left without a computer that can connect to the net.

I have searched hi and low all over the internet to see if I could buy a wired ethernet adapter which has a 64 bit signed driver, but all of the ethernet cards I have been able to find are only compatible with the 32 bit version of Vista or they only have unsigned drivers for their ethernet cards. This is really frustrating!

I recently purchased a new pc that came with win vista 64 bit premium home installed. I am now reloading all my old programs and I keep getting ?windows requires a digitally signed driver" error message. I also can't seem to play my old movie files, all of which played fine when I had Win XP. Apparently Vista does not want me to make my own decisions, so I am wondering how I might go about disabling all this extra secure vista crap. Can I go into Control panel and disable the BitLocker Drive Encryption? Or do I need uninstall 64bit and install the Vista 32 bit? Would that be a smooth transition? Would all my stuff work again if I had the less securitized 32bit Vista? Thanks for any help you may provide.

Answer:windows requires digitally signed driver

Welcome to the Vista forums

1) You don't want to disable UAC (User Account Control) as it does a lot to protect your computer from various malware. If you really feel the urge to turn it off, then you can in control panel in the User Account section. Once turned off, you'll get the red shield in the bottom right saying it's disabled. Disable security warnings by opening security centre and going to "change how security centre warns me" or something and choose the "no warnings" option.

2) Just download the Vista codec pack (just Google it and you should find it) and DivX and you should have no problems watching videos.

3) You can install unsigned drivers on Vista 64 bit, do this by running an elevated command prompt (right click on command prompt in Start menu and click "run as administrator".

Type this and press enter bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

When you reboot, you should be able to install unsigned drivers.
Also, I looked on the HP website for your computer, and it has 6GB RAM, so going to Vista 32bit would only allow you to use about 3.5GB RAM. I also saw it only has an Nvidia 6150e onboard graphic card. Are you using this? As if you upgraded this to a graphic card, you'd notice better performance on Vista as well.

If you have a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 and you install a driver that has a Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) or Authenticode signature on the computer.
But in Device Manager, when you expand the corresponding device, right-click the driver, and then click Properties and then click the Driver Details button on the Driver tab, you may find that the driver file is displayed as unsigned! This issue occurs because of incorrect logic when the Authenticode flag in the catalog file of the driver is checked.
To fix this issue download and apply this hotfix from KB2619914.

when i google i got that it is necessary for win vista , win7 and other upper version.

Answer:windows require a digitally signed driver xp 32 sp2

A signed driver is not necessary in Windows. It is an extra security layer, as drivers can become corrupt by malware. If you obtained the driver from a trusted source (like the device manufacturer's website), you can go ahead and tell Windows to install it.

Windows Vista x64 decided to implement a 'security measure' by which all drivers must be 'digitally signed' to be allowed to install and run. I have a program which is compatible with Vista and x64 bit operating systems, however as its drivers are not digitally signed I cannot run it correctly - I recieve the message 'Windows requires a digitally signed driver' and access to the driver is blocked.

Is there a method of bypassing this?

Answer:'Windows requires a digitally signed driver' - How can I bypass this?

When you boot your system hit F8 and you can bypass it there. You will have to do this every boot. There are a couple applications out there that will do this for you but the names escape me right now.

Hello, I have Windows 10 (64 bit) and all the latest Windows + Lenovo updates. The SSD's are Samsung 850 EVO (system) and Samsung 840 EVO (data). Since a few weeks ago, I started seeing a pop-up message, whenever I boot the computer. It says that "A digitaly signed driver is required". Also, the Samsung Magician software reports, that AHCI Mode is deactivated and SATA Interface is N/A. Does that mean that my system is not running on full performance? And is there are solution for these issues? Thank you!

OK, I have come across 3 methods to disable driver signing with the bcdedit program on various websites:
bcdedit.exe /set testsigning on/off
bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on/off
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

What are the differences between them and which one should I use? Oh, how do you re-enable driver signing for the DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS method, if I use it?

Answer:need help with enabling and disabling signed driver enforcement in vista 64

I'm using the last one and to re-enable it type: bcdedit /deletevalue loadoptions

My harddrive went out and I put a new one in. It was a brand new drive and I loaded Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit from my laptop's recovery disk that came with the inital purchase. When I started to add the drivers 2 of them came up as unable to verify the signatures. Most importantly the driver for my Wifi adapter, which is an Intel Wifi Link 1000 BGN says this. Windows refuses to run it in that state. So I have no internet and it says that the adapter is not installed or is disabled. When I go into the Device Manager the adapter is there with a yellow "!" and has an error code 52 (for unsigned driver). It shows installed and enabled though

I installed the driver from the intial driver disc and it says unsigned, I was able to get the latest driver from Intel's website and that too says it can't verify the digital signature.

When I boot into the F8 screen and disable driver enforcement I am able to get online.

I'm not sure if this is related or not, but regardless of how I boot, Windows updater and troubleshooters do not work.

I'd appreciate any help.

No, I'm not asking, how to... I'm telling you how to

In a shell with admin rights, enter:

bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

and yes, it's DD... no typo. Reboot and enjoy.

I have x220 with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Device manager shows under Storage Controllers "Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC host controller," but there is a yellow triangle with "!" and a Device Status Code 52 message "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device." I checked in C:\Drivers\WIN\Multicard and found two *.cat files--which, I understand, are required to confirm digital signature. Each of them (ridisk.cat and risdxc.cat) has a signed and valid certificate! So what is going on? Will the card reader work? Is there something wrong with how Windows 7 is treating the Ricoh driver, which I downloaded from the Lenovo site? Why should I be getting this grief?

Answer:Ricoh card reader driver-not digitally signed?

Hello,

Perhaps the driver is damaged?

Try deleting the Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC host controller from the Device Manager and then restarting the computer in order to let the Device Manager re-detect it and re-install the device drivers.  Does that solve the problem?

Hi,

This is my first post on these forums, so please excuse me if anything is wrong.

Details of the problem: I have a Sony VAIO laptop that runs Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I recently downloaded the same version from digital river that has SP1 included and installed it on my laptop. I installed the drivers that I had downloaded from sony's esupport site which went fine. After I rebooted and tried to install the rest of the drivers, I started getting the Code 52 error: Windows cannot verify the signature of this driver. I've seen that every driver can be installed immediately after the system has been booted the first time (after a clean install). Once rebooted, it starts giving the code 52 error. I can't install my iPhone drivers (through iTunes) or PS3 utilities because of this. I'm wondering what changes during the first reboot. I must also say that these very same drivers were used on the previous build of Win 7 HP that I was using except that it did not have SP1 integrated.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I know that the digital signature check can be disabled using bcdedit.exe but I want Windows 7 to work the way it should: it should stop me from using unsigned drivers while installing signed drivers correctly. Does any one have any clue to what's going on with my Win7 on my laptop?

Answer:Driver Digital Signature error when using signed drivers (Code 52)

Hi ajayav, Welcome to Sevenforums.

Boot into Advanced Boot Options and disable driver signing checking.

The Advanced Boot Options screen lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting modes. You can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts.

Disabling driver signature enforcement has helped a lot of users in fixing the issue.

You may also delete the USB "Upper Filter" & "Lower Filter" Entry and check if that helps.

I'm guessing maybe due to the new driver signing requirements in Windows 10 1607 Anniversary Update...

Hi all,
I am wondering how do I digitally sign my driver so that it can be installed on a Win7 Ultimate SP1 in a VMWare virtual machine. I have used Visual Studio 2013 to sign my driver and cat files using a certificate I obtained from GlobalSign. Both of these
files passed the signtool check, but when trying to install in this virtual machine it generates an error code 52.
Thanks in advance for any help

Only been here an hour and already on to my second problem, lol.

So my only other problem is one little hardware adapter that has 64bit drivers... but they're not signed.

Is a "Syba" Serial to USB Adapter (SY-USB-S)...

basically I need to use it so that my battey backup can talk with Windows and give reports on power spikes etc... as well as control the shutdown of windows when I'm not around if there's a power outage.

Now, it's not a huge deal as the battery backup will still work of course, but the extra features won't work until Windows can communicate with it. Unfortunatly the backup only as a serial connection (and my motherboad doesn't) so I'm forced to use the "Serial (RS232) to USB" adapter.

So I'm wondering a few things.

1) can I force Vista x64 to use the unsigned driver from the company?

2) can I trick Vista x64 into thinking the driver is signed? (or someone mod the drive to that it is signed by me?)

3) Anyone know of a signed driver from another company that will work with this item? I assume a few companies use the same chip inside the device. All it does is make a bridge from USB to serial so it's a pretty simply device as well.

4) Anyone know of another Serial to USB adapter that has singed drivers that I could purchase to replace the current one?

Thanks again for any advice or help,
TK.

I got a wireless mouse Penguin Ambidextrous Vertical Mouse | Posturite. It is supposed to use generic windows 2.4 Ghz adapter. However, windows 7 is unable to find any drivers. The screenshot of device manager is appended. I tried various other ways e.g. take out other USB devices, reboot etc. I tried sfc /scannow . But the error persists. There is no usb.inf file in the C:\Windows . It works in Windows 8 machine but not in windows 7. other 2.4 Ghz mice work. The manufacturer says that they don't provide the drivers because the mouse uses generic drivers
Please advise what can be done.

Did you do a Search of the Windows Folder including subFolders and hidden Files? My Win7Ult has several such files but only 2 that are usb.inf only in subFolders of Windows, others have longer names but most appear to be associated with my AMD CPU/Gigabyte Motherboard setup.

Somehow or other I seem to have lost my mouse driver for the two or three button mouse with a wire which plugs into the back of the computer, and I want it back. I don't like the wireless mice, which still work and I am using one now, but not by choice. All I want is a file I can load, then plug my old two button KeyMouse into the back of the computer and use the mouse. HP, Key products and MicroSoft say that they don't have any or that I'm not smart enough to use them or whatever. Anyone got any suggestions?

I tried one of those software driver update programs but it wanted to change 33 things in my system. I'm happy with my old system exactly as it is, except for the mouse, so I dumped it and cleaned the registry. I'm sure there's a generic mouse driver kicking around somewhere, but neither AOL or ASK can find it.

The old thread has expired and it told me to start a new one. I did. Any help will be gratefully received.

Thanks.

I'm working with a Dell Dimension C521 PC. It came with a PCI-Express video card which apparently has failed, yet the motherboard itself has on-board video. The system will boot using this video output (as opposed to the card which produced nothing) but when it finally gets to windows the auto-detect driver routine kicks in and begins to detect the video card, prompting the user to "Continue Anyway" to finish installing unsigned drivers. Unfortunately this event takes place in front of the installation of the USB keyboard and mouse (times like these I wish it had PS/2 ). Anyway, whether I boot up into Safe Mode or normal a prompt comes up about installing drivers for the on-board chipset. I can't interact with it because the driver install routine for the keyboard/mouse becomes interrupted.

Answer:Dell Dimension C521; USB key/mouse driver load interrupted by video card driver load

Bump. I've been thinking... the only way I think this can be fixed is if I boot from a Linux CD or something similar and delete a particular set of drivers for this video card. It can't prompt you to install any drivers if they don't exist, right? But I don't know where to go to delete such files and prevent them from automatically trying to install themselves. Any ideas?

Using Win 7 x64 Home Premium, Dell XPS 8700, Logitech M-CW47 mouse, Microsoft HID-compliant mouse driver version 6.1.7600.16385 (6/21/2006)

The subject mouse has a side thumb button that I used as a double-click on my old XP machine. I now have a Win 7 machine, but Logitech does not have a Win 7 driver for this mouse. However, the side thumb button does have a function - it turns on autoscrolling (so does a wheel click). This function does not appear in the mouse Properties window.

Is there any possible way to change that side thumb button to a double-click?

Incidentally, because both the mouse and keyboard (old IBM behemoth) require PS/2 ports, I have to use a PS/2 to USB converter (Ziotek).

Thanks,

Hi,My neighbour is getting on a bit he has a P.C. and finds it hard to move the mouse about.I have a Microsoft Trackball 1.0 Optical USB he is on XP which is what I was when I last used it,but he is not on the Web.I have tried the Driver for this but his P.C. tells me to get a more up to date one.I have looked on M/Soft site and there are some to download.Could one of you kind people point me in the direction of the right one (I do not want to mess up his P.C.) and how to get it down loaded onto a CD to be used on his machine as you might have guessed I am a silver surfer as well. Thanks in anticipation Sam Gee

Answer:Mouse Driver

For the trackball, If it asks you for a more up to date driver, put your XP operating CD in and point it to that.Without a link to the driver site I cannot recommend a driver for you if the above does not work.To get a driver onto a cd (or a USB pen drive), just download them to your desktop, then right click on the icon from the download and select SEND TO from the dropdown box and then select your CD/DVD drive to burn it to.If you want to add more files to the CD/DVD just repeat the process on the others before you select to burn them.Once you click on the icon in the taskbar to burn them to CD/DVD a Wizard will take you through the process. So if you are unsure which driver to load , Download them all and burn them onto one CD.Hope that helps you.

Question: Mouse driver help?

On saturday I called hp tech support to get a new mouse and they wanted to make sure my mouse wasn't working and my computer was fine. The tech support guy had me do a ton of stuff and I think I uninstalled my mouse driver and now with the new mouse, it won't work. My USB mouse works though.

How can I get the sp/2 mouse driver back?

Answer:Mouse driver help?

So, you have a USB mouse that works and also a PS2-Type mouse that doesn't? is that correct?

If that is correct, the only thing that I can think of is:

1.- you have plugged the PS2 mouse in the incorrect slot (where the keyboard has to be)

2.- Somehow, you have inserted the PS2 in the correct slot but inverted so it is there but not fully functioning?

3.- Disabled PS2 type mouse in your bios

Things I would try:

Turn off Computer, disconnect your USB & PS2 mouse, Start your PC and get into the Bios, find out if your PS2 port is Open (Enable) or Close (Disable), if the latter, Open it (Enable it). If you can't find anything in the Bios, save on Exit and turn computer off again. Unplug the power cord.

Plug in your PS2-Type mouse in the correct PS2 port, making sure it is inserted correctly, plug in your power cord and start your pc and let it get in into the desktop, if you have a problem at login screen, try to get to the desktop using your keyboard, wait a while as it may be installing the driver for it.

Let us know what happens

Hello, this is my first time here, and I am in need of some serious help.

My mouse is a Redragon Nemeanlion model, and I just got it a couple of months ago. It works perfectly fine and all, but due to my stupidity, I accidentally messed up the driver (I don't know if I removed it or just destroyed it).

Basically, I was going to play some Super Smash Bros. on my computer, and I use a USB Gamecube adapter that was made for the Wii U. I have a program called Zadig that installs the driver for it. Sometimes after restarts, the Gamecube adapter's driver gets deleted from my computer (I would assume it has to do with Windows 10 deleting things it deems "harmful"). I was trying to reinstall that driver, but I ended up accidentally selecting the driver for my mouse for it to use, and now my mouse will not work at all. The LEDs inside of it aren't even lighting up anymore. Is there any way I can fix this? (FYI: my old mouse still works, it's just the Nemeanlion that isn't working).

Thanks for any help, and I'm sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this.

Edit: I tested the mouse on another computer, and it still works perfectly fine. It just won't do anything on here.

After this it asks me to search online for a solution to the problem but when i click yes it finds no solution... It asks me to check the vendors site, but from what i gathered when i tried searching the vendor Mikomi's website is http://www.mingjong.com.tw/eipe/front/bin/ptlist.phtml?Category=100012 but all the drivers is for web cams and stuff.

Can anyone help me get the drivers for this please

Question: mouse driver

Hi! just bought an advent cot5 optical mouse and my laptop can't read the cd with the driver on it. does anyone know a site where i can download the driver? thanks.

Answer:mouse driver

Have you tried the disc in another computer/drive? If so, is it readable there? Does the packaging have a URL for the company? Unless you specifically need some special feature the disc provides, the mouse should work normally just by plugging it in and letting windows find it.

here is what happend, i had a old USB hub with 5 ports, so i replaced it with a 10 USB hub and eveything is working apart from my rat cyborg 3 mouse, when i plug it into the new 10 port USB hub it does not light up or install the driver from the mouse, it says failed,

so i was thinking it must have something to do with the driver for the mouse that was installed when using the old hub that is stopping the mouse from installing the driver software, how can i remove it from my PC?

all i see in device manager is this..
can i remove the driver for the USB port that the mouse was using? would that solve it?

Answer:help with mouse driver

The problem is not with the mouse or the driver. The problem is with your hub. Does the Hub come with a power adapter? If not you will have problems.See if you can get an optional power adapter. If it has power, be sure to plug the power adapter into a wall socket and not through a surge protector or extension cord, as this diminishes the power. Be sure to plug the USB cable from the Hub into the Back USB port of the computer and not the front as this port is weaker.
The mouse driver would be under Human Interface Device, or Non-Plug and Play drivers. But if there was a problem, (es) the driver didn't load, there would be a yellow flag next to it.
If you must use this Hub, then you may need to put your mouse directly in the computer.

Erm, I *think* this goes here... if not, somebody move it...

Okay. I've got a Fellowes Web Pro optical mouse. It's a USB mouse. I love it. I also enjoy ancient computer games, like Space Quest and the like... unfortunately, my mouse doesn't always work. In fact, in the pure DOS games, it doesn't seem to work at all. (The ones that were created after Windows 95 have no problem).

This means that I need a mouse driver for DOS-- for a USB mouse. I can't use PS/2 because (1) I don't have an adapter, (2) I don't have another mouse, and (3) my lappy doesn't even have a PS/2 port anyways.

I've looked on Google, and on Fellowes' web site (unhelpful as always with corporate sites such as that) and found nothing. No help there.

So where can I get a DOS mouse driver for a USB mouse? Is there even such a thing?

Answer:Mouse Driver in DOS?

I might be wrong but I seriously doubt you being able to find anything like usb that supports dos

I recently bought a wireless mouse (Wireless Laser Mouse 5000).
Love it, except when I play games.

I decided to try to plug in my old wired mouse (Wheel Mouse Optical) at the same time, but now I'm having problems with it probably because I had to install the drivers for my wireless to work.

Both of them are Microsoft mouses using the Intellipoint 6.3 drivers.

The problem is the scrolling. It's incredibly slow and "laggy", and the scrolling speed configuration doesn't change a thing.

It used to work before when my computer didn't have any mouse drivers.

I've searched over the net and tried all sorts of things in the hardware config panel.

The only solution I can come up with is to disable the drivers BUT ONLY for the wired mouse (Wheel Mouse Optical).

Can someone tell me if this is possible without completely uninstalling Intellipoint ?

Basically, I want Intellipoint to recognize my wireless mouse but not the wired one.

Thanks.

Answer:Using two mouse + driver problem

Hi there,

Yes, this should be possible, although I have never tried. I'd try going into the Device Manager while both mice are connected and installed. Select the wired mouse in the list and choose Update Driver. Choose to select the driver manually, and to pick it from a list. Next, choose the most generic mouse driver you have, such as "Generic PS/2 Mouse", "Generic Mouse", etc. Something along those lines. It may give you an error, but just continue. After that, you may have to reboot. When you are done, your wireless mouse should be recognized by IntelliPoint, but not the "Generic" wired one.

Hope this helps.

My much-loved Dell is stuffed full of programs and info but the mouse driver seems to have died. I do have it all backed up on an external HDD so not all is lost but it does seem a shame to have to trash an otherwise perfectly good machine because I can't access anything without a mouse. Is there any way round this?

I have a wired optical mouse that i want to use with my laptop. Problem is that and error pops up when ever it detects it. The error is this:

There was a problem installing this hardware: Optical USB Mouse An error occurred during the installation of this device; Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

Can any one tell me where i might find a generic driver for a 3 button mouse? The mouse is made by Dell(as far as i can tell). If any one could help me out that would be really awesome, thanks!

I have a Microsoft IntelliMouse 1.2A PS/2 Compatible Mouse that I'm trying to connect to my new Laptop computer running Windows XP-Home. It's not working (obviously, that's why I'm posting here). When I plug it in, XP does not recognize it and installs it as an Unknown Device without drivers. I figured XP would have the drivers for the mouse, but apparently not. Or, perhaps it's something else? Here are some (my) important factors to consider:

1. Most importantly, I'm a novice with XP. I've only been using it for about a week (when I obtained my laptop). However, I am skilled with Win 98. This explains why I'm posting this in the first place.

2. According to Microsoft.com, the IntelliMouse 1.2A is compatible with Windows XP.

3. I don't have a PS/2 port on my laptop, so I'm connecting the Mouse via a PS/2 to USB adapter (I don't think this has any bearing, but I thought I'd mention it).

4. Probably the most confusing factor (to me) is that in the Device Manager, there are 4 USB Controllers and 4 USB Root Hubs listed (I'm used to seeing 1 each in Win 98SE). They're all listed as working properly, but the Laptop only has 2 USB ports. The 4 Controllers are all Intel 82801DB/DBM, with one of them listed as a USB2 Enhanced Controller. The only other difference is the numbers listed at the end of the description. In order, these numbers are as follows: 24C2, 24C4, 24C7, and 24CD, with the last one being the En... Read more

So, I have this general usb mouse that works well - it's a GE Dual Scroll Mouse (97769).
However, as I was running Windows update, I decided to install the updated driver for it through the optional hardware updates. When this installed, the computer instantly rebooted and would reboot the second windows attempted to load. I removed the mouse, found out what the driver was, and deleted the driver's sys file from the system32 folder. I then plugged it in again and skipped past the driver finding service, and the mouse worked. Now, however, the computer always asks me to get the driver that caused my operating system to stop working when I start up the system. How can I solve this issue? The mouse works fine just using mouclass.sys and mouhid.sys from windows. Can I make windows just settle for these drivers?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,
I have installed a Logitech M510 wireless mouse driver, which works fine.
However, every time I start my PC in the morning, Win 10 installs an additional HID compliant driver, which is totally redundant. How can I verify which driver is used and how can I prevent that unneeded driver to be installed in the first place?
Thanks,
Ed

Answer:Mouse driver install

Rather than uninstall the Win10 driver have you tried to Disable it in Device Manager? Unless the user is a hard-core gamer I don't install the software that comes with a mouse, Windows tends to do pretty good.

Hey guys, I really respect any help given here and hope I posted my question with adequate information/in the right section, if not just request more/reply/lock this and I will get it right sooner or later

I am running..among many things:

Windows Vista home premium
Service pack 1

Make - HP

HP Pavillion Dv4 Notebook PC

Intell(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.00GHz
64bits and 4GB of RAM

---------------------------------------------------

I have many mice, every one I tried always worked, plug in and worked, no drivers needed etc.

I believe my mom used her blackberry charger on my computer, after that, no more USB plug ins work..i just added that incase I dont know if the blackberry had anything to do with it.

My computer has a taskbar icon that when clicked tells me this..
Code:

USB Device Not Recognized

USB Root Hub(2 Ports)

Unknown device
Unused port

I looked up my mouse brands, installed drivers..did all that, it doesnt charge phones anymore but it does light up optical mice.

Any help appreciated,

Sam

I installed DOS 6.22 on a 486DX 233mh. motherboard along with windows 3.1 OS The mouse (serial) does not work. The mouse has no name to try and find a driver.

Is there a simple way to get the mouse to be recognized?

Answer:Generic Mouse driver

Windows 3.1 came with a default PS/2 mouse driver.
Sometimes the IRQ setting with the mouse may conflict with another device installed on your motherboard - most often the modem.
To resolve this IRQ conflict:

1. In the Main group, choose the Control Panel icon.

2. In the Control Panel window, choose the Ports icon.

3. In the Ports dialog box, select the COM port for the mouse. Normally the mouse is eaither on COM1 or COM2.

(The mouse uses a different driver for MS-DOS-based applications than
it does for Windows-based applications.
Do not install a modem on COM3 if you have a mouse on COM1, or a modem
on COM4 if you have a mouse on COM2 - unless your machine or serial I/O
card supports IRQ sharing.)

and then choose the Settings Button.

4. In the Settings dialog box, choose the Advanced button.

5. Open the Interrupt Request Line (IRQ) list box, and select 12 (this is the default PS2 mouse IRQ.

6. Choose the OK button twice to exit the settings dialog boxes, and
then choose the Close button to exit the Ports dialog box.

You may need to reboot the computer, but this should solve the problem (if it is a IRQ conflict, as I suspect).

I am asking this for a friend who installed a wireless optical mouse and it was working so she uninstalled the mouse driver. Now neither one works.
She has Windows 98. I looked for a mouse driver for Win. 98 but did not find any. I don't know if that would resolve the problem or not or if something else needs to be done. What can you all suggest?

Answer:Mouse driver needed

I suggest that she unplugs the new optical mouse, shuts down - plugs in the old, prtobably PS2 mouse and restarts. '98 will find a generic driver for that and she can then reintroduce her optical mouse afterwards.

It doesn't hurt to hide the old mouse round the back while keeping it plugged in. Batteries die at night (because it's cheaper) and it's as well to have the PS2 as standby. Saves another restart.
