System driver OMCI failed to load...

Question: System driver OMCI failed to load...

"OMCI system driver failed to load on start up." Source: Service Control Manager.

I have had this error message appear repeatedly over the past 2 months or so.

More recently the following also fail to load:
PCIIde
ViaIde

Windows (XP SP2) also often fails to start, sometime failing after the Windows logo screen has run, sometimes it doesn't get that far. Hitting the power and re-trying works...

Any advice appreciated.

Preferred Solution: System driver OMCI failed to load...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: System driver OMCI failed to load...

Kservice
and
PC tools Anti-Virus Engine (now uninstalled)

Also have frequently hung on starting.

Another recent error:
"The Messenger Sharing Folders USN Journal Reader service service failed to start:
...The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. "

Another recent error
"An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation."

and

"The device, \Device\Scsi\JRAID1, did not respond within the timeout period."

I have a problem with my ThinkCentre E72 (Windows 8). Suddenly, it shuts down with "shut-down" screen. Later, in my Event Viewer, I found the following System Warning:"The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0001" where the source of problem is Kernel-PnP. Only thing that is plugged in my computer is mouse, keyboard and monitor. Many thanks,Matija

Answer:E72 - The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0001

In case anyone else is affected by this, please have a look at my post in Kernel-pnp (PLEASE HELP). Best regards // ThinkErEr

Hi all.

My pc has been hanging randomly and I have to use the power button to shut down/restart.

I've checked in events and there is this error which seems to be causing the problem as the time matches with the hang time.

I posted another topic with another bsod issue in the bsod section, and I was told to run some tests.

A day or so ago, I tried and changed Driver Verifier settings as were instructed in one of the threads here which also mentions that it is an iffy thing to do.

Anyway, I lost windows and could not start again, luckily I had a backup made, and after formatting my HD, loaded it on to it. This error seems to be a driver issue (Screenshot).

Should I go down the Driver Verifier route again ? To be honest I don't want to. If I lose windows again it would be very frustrating.

I've run the following tests so far here

I have no driver issues showing up in Device Manager, so that looks ok.

Please advise. Thank you.

Answer:The following system start driver(s) failed to load: mbmiodrvr

I looked around and found a reference to Mother Board Monitor which at least sounds like it might be the culprit.

Do you have that application installed, or some other temperature / fan speed monitoring sw?

Alex Van Kaam, the author of Mother Board Monitor, stopped development in 2004 citing his frustration getting technical information from mfgrs.

Anyway, if you have Mother Board Monitor installed, remove it. If you have other monitoring sw, post what you have and someone might know more about that sw (MBM source used?)

If you haven't tried a Clean Boot, here's a tutorial you can follow:

Answer:windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt

I have a few questions:
1. Do you have a repair disc?
2. If not, does the PC have a recovery partition?
3. Can you boot from a live CD (such as Puppy Linux)?
4. What were you doing before the problem started?

Hi everybody,

This is my first post on this forum. I've recently come across a problem with my computer. I'm running Windows Vista 32 bit. I shut the computer down one day, and the next day turning it on I came across this problem.

File: \Windows\System32\Drivers\nqgbwc.sys

Status: 0xc0000225

Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.

I have no clue what this means. It said insert windows installation disc and repair computer. I did this, self repair found nothing. I then tried system restore and it could not initialize which is a pain in the ass. My last resort is to reinstall windows vista but I think I'm going to lose everything.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Kevin

Answer:Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.

First see if you can boot into Safemode without it giving you that error. If you can, first try searching for that driver to see if its even in your system32 folder.

I recently just checked my computer and it is not in mine by default, which means its a file relating to a third party program/app that has been installed on your machine. If you can figure out what the abbreviation for NQGBWC is from the list of installed applications on your computer, then you can isolate which program on startup is causing the failure on booting windows due to the missing system file.

As you may have already tried, i cannot simply google search nqgbwc.sys as it gives me just THIS post only. If you cannot find the problem, then the only thing possible from there is to reinstall your OS but of course BACK UP EVERYTHING IMPORTANT FIRST.

I checked through the Event log in Administrator tools.
I got the following error: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: BANTExt

What is it?

I googled BANTExt and found out it's BelArc Advisor. Is it true?

How do I stop this error?

Answer:The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: BANTExt

Yes, BANText.sys is the Belarc Advisor system driver file.It is started automatically from a Run, RunOnce, RunServices, or RunServicesOnce entry in the registry everytime Windows starts. To prevent the error you would need to find and remove that entry in the registry.

Sorry if this has already been answered/wrong place. I looked at Google but thought I double check here (since the solutions via Google seem to be refering to a different OS to mine)

First of: Windows Vista, SP2, 64 bit.

Now sometimes (and not now since I am writing this) my Keyboard/Mouse just stops working. It freezes completely and I am unable to use it and am hence required to restart the computer. This happens at random occasions but it usually involves opening some program or what not (I noticed a prominent pattern that the mouse/keyboard freezes whenever I go to speedtest.com measure my speed and then once the download speed bar is finished and upload is about to begin my computer freezes).

I had a look at my event viewer and noticed this:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
i8042prt

Now I am not sure whether this appears at the start and then once I run a program or do something (like go on speedtest.com) the commuter then freezes (i.e. my mouse/keyboard is non-responsive) or the error message comes up after my computer freezes but any help in fixing this mouse/keyboard freezing would be very grateful.

The solution to fixing this problem I founds was to go to Registry editor and change the Start D word from 1 to 4 (but I noticed some saying to delete it completely and yet other sources to change it from 1 to 0 and yet even others to change something that I don't even have under that folder). If I was to tamper with the reg informa... Read more

If I was to tamper with the reg information, is it possible that I wont ever get access to my keyboard/mouse? My worry is that I might change some value so that I will have no way of getting to the computer with the keyboard/mouse (I am not good with bios) and would not be able to get help on the internet since I can't connect!

It is bad idea

DWORD Start may have following values

0 -boot ,1 -system ,2- auto ,3 -demand, 4 -disabled. Surly if you'll set to 4 you lose access to keyboard and mouse.Don't modify anything.Find folder C:\Windows\Minidump pack it and attache to post.If Minidump folder is empty use verifier tool to diagnose wrong drivers read here:http://www.vistax64.com/973966-post8.html

Guys, I'm running Windows XP and recently when I turn on my PC it makes a single beeb and then seems to run OK.

Tonight, I was running Firefox and the system seemed to slow, before becoming completely unresponsive. I had Task Manager open at the time, however when I tried to shut Firefox down the PC started bleeping like mad and I was forced to do a hard shut down.

I waited about 1 minute and then rebooted and immedietly went into the Error log and found the following entry:

"The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: StarOpen"

I tried Googling a fix with no luck and I can't find StarOpen in the Services, Apps or Program files. Nor could I find it listed in the Device Manager or the Boot-start list in msconfig.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I recently had to install a new battery for my computer. After doing so I started having this problem and receiving the following Error from the "Service Control Manager" Event ID:7026 The following Boot-Start or System-Start driver(s)
failed to load: ppfd_vt_1_10_0_24 Param 1. The issues I am having are; Unable to completely "SHUT DOWN" unless I press the power button, this is after I have already selected the "shut down" option in the Start menu. Never
had to press the power button to power off my computer. Also, at "START-UP", I get as far as a black screen with a white flashing cursor in upper left-hand corner. At this point I am stuck, nothing takes me out of this state unless I press the "POWER"
button to shut-down. In order to start-up & Boot, I disconnect AC Adapter, remove battery, wait about 20 seconds, re-install battery, power adapter, and push power button. Now my computer is all good. Can anyone help me with this, I've researched for 2
weeks and am no where. Thanks for any help. My computer is quite old, 2010 Sept., but I'm hoping that I don't have to purchase a new one...(I'm a lil cheap) lol

I am seeing several of these Warnings in the Event Viewer, Windows System logs. These are Event ID 219, Source Kernel-PnP.

That said, I am not experiencing any crashes, freezes, BSODs, and everything on my PC seems to be functional. So perhaps I can safely ignore these warnings, but I prefer to get to the bottom of something in case it will lead to problems in the future.

I have done some online research on this event, and none of the suggested fixes seem applicable to me. I have been vigilant in keeping all drivers on my machine up to date. I've checked, and there don't seem to be any newer drivers available for any of my hardware. I also have the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service set to "automatic" startup.

The details of this event are below.

Any suggested action to remedy my problem? Thanks!

This has been a problem for over a year now. 140+ identical PCs running identical images, with identical keyboards. Some have the problem, some do not, and it's incredibly unpredictable.

PCs are HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF running Windows 7 x64 Professional.

People will be working at their PC, hear the USB disconnect sound, and their keyboard will become unusable for 30+ seconds.

An Event with ID 219 is created in the Event Log:

The driver \Driver\kbdhid failed to load for the device HID\VID_03F0&PID_0324\7&3c64d09&0&0000.

For those affected, the frequency of the error runs anywhere from 10 times a day to once every few weeks.

Re-imaging the PC has no effect but that same image running on another PC with the same hardware can run without ever experiencing the problem. The system I use has not experienced the problem once in over a year.

I have rebuilt the image from scratch and pushed it out to a group of people experiencing the error. It seemed to resolve it for a few months and then the errors inexplicably came back. I've tried replacing the keyboards with completely different models. Again, it seemed to resolve it for a while and then it came back.

I know this may sound simple; but have you tried completely uninstalling the keyboard from device manager; then let windows reinstall it? That may fix the issue. If not then post back.

Hi,

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.

The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.

Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur.

From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause

WUDFRd failed to load for the device

Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date.

Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Any thoughts?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device... error

I just started getting this exact same error message logged in Event Viewer when I plug a USB stick into a USB port. It happens with two different sticks from two different manufactures, but it does not happen every time I plug them in. It seems that it may mostly happen the first time I plug a stick in after I have booted up my PC.

Have you been able to find a solution to get these error codes to stop logging?

My PC started BSOD-ing a few days ago and now does it every few hours.

It starts with this error:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then moves on to:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then:
Installing printer driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer failed, error code 0x0, HRESULT 0x80070705. See the event user data for context information.

Then:

The print spooler failed to regenerate the printer driver information for driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer for environment Windows x64. Win32 system error code 1797 (0x705). This can occur after an operating system upgrade or because of data loss on the hard drive.

Finally:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff80c5d0d15b0, 0x0000000000000000, 0xffffffffffffffff). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: d35c98fc-b1e6-4003-bed9-f7cdbca575e2.

This started happening a few days ago, right after a new update from windows:

Full event error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device {C5A047D8-CB5B-40E9-B9E3-316AB06B5A18}\WirelessKeyboardFilter`

Driver environment:
Windows 10 x64 desktop
I have a wireless Microsoft mouse
I do not have a Microsoft wireless keyboard
I have the associated transceiver that should work for both (if installed)

This problem started when my Microsoft wireless mouse driver was updated to version 1.0.102.0 (dated 3/16/2016).
This driver update also appears to be responsible for a few other device errors as well:

I believe this new driver assumes you have a wireless keyboard (without checking) and just tries to load a driver for it.

My temporary fix is/was to rollback the driver to the previous Microsoft version 10.0.10586.0 (dated 6/21/2006):

Anyone else run across this condition or have a known solution using the latest driver?

Thanks,

aardvark

At Windows 10 startup this Warning appears in my Event Log as Event ID: 219.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{a1c931b2-3b00-11e5-9c14-806e6f6e6963}#0000000008100000.

I know why this happens. The device in the message is an internal SATA AHCI hard drive. All AHCI drives, even internal ones, are considered removal or hot swapable. It even causes the safely remove icon to appear sort of like it was a USB drive. It happened on Windows 8.x. Don't remember if it happened on Windows 7. I can't make any changes in my BIOS to make it not hot swapable as there is no option for this drive.

The fix to get rid of the message in W8 was to modify the Service 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework' Changing the Startup type from Manual to Automatic fixed the problem. However, on Windows 10 this method does not work.

I can't disable the Service as it's needed for other devices. Just wondering if anyone found a nice clean way to get rid of the warning message like in W8?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device .......

I have the same issue. I have upgraded from Win 7 home, had some issues so I did a clean install of Win 10 home, and I also tried changing the Windows Driver Foundation - User Mode Driver Framework from manual to auto and same as you it did not work. And, Yes, I have downloaded and installed all of the latest driver/firmware from my manufacturer for all my hardware but still have this issue.

I have this computer what for some reasons wont install USB Smartcard readers.
Its Win7 64.
I have tried different smartcards but they wont help, also i tried to install drives manually but still wont work. I uninstalled and installed drivers many times.

Also i tried, but didnt work:
Change the 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-Mode Driver Framework' from 'Manual' to 'Automatic'.

Also the error from events.

I found something like this.

Should i try it or would it be easier to just format the computer. Its a work pc and it wont take long time, there isnt that much stuff on it.

Answer:The driver \Driver\atrfiltr failed to load for the device...

Update Chipset and USB controller Driver.
It would be helpful if you can send us a screenshot of Device Manage while Card reader is connected.

My Windows 7 Professional "Explorer" tree (not Internet Explorer) no longer lists my CD/DVD ROM DRIVE under the Device Manager/Drives. It used to.

I've checked the System Registry and it has lots of info about that ATAPI drive, but my system fails to find the "cdrom" driver (which is the one Windows 7 uses by default). It's not a 3rd-party driver.

The tray on my CD/DVD drive opens and closes properly. Windows just won't recognize the drive, so I can't use it.

I'm hoping someone can offer a 'manual' solution to get it working again. I do not want to spend a month to reinstall my OS and tons of hard-to-configure software. I've read countless other posts and solutions, both here and on MS's sites. The info on MS's sites is not even understandable. It's too vague and often doesn't even apply to my situation.

Has anybody been able to fix this warning message that came with W8? Every machine I have running W8.1 gets a couple of these warnings at boot time. This system ASRock Z77 OC Formula/3770K seems to get a triple dose of the warnings. I have tried the "Fix" of setting the startup to "Automatic" for "Windows Driver Foundation" but that had no effect. I do have a USB Keyboard and Mouse connected to the system but then who doesn't these days. I know it is just a warning message and probably has no effect on the system but.... Any suggestions on what to do about this?

Updating the driver didn't pan out, neither did uninstalling and rebooting (driver installation failed on reboot). Drive was working before. I know this can be solved; seen this before on somebody else's computer a year ago. On the other hand, maybe the driver isn't compat with 64bit Ultimate--but it was OK under 32bit Home Personal.

Correction. The drive in question isn't a CD drive. It's a DVD drive.

This is my first time downloading this so there are no programs like this in my "currently installed programs". I tried uninstalling the driver in the Device Manager but it just reinstalls back(when I scan for hardware changes). Thanks for the reply!

Answer:SlowDownCPU Failed to load Hardware Monitor Driver

SlowDownCPU.exe Windows process - What is it?

Quote:
Important: Some malware camouflages themselves as SlowDownCPU.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the SlowDownCPU.exe process on your pc whether it is pest.

In your case, I don't think its a virus as stated above, as if the virus was doing anything its designed not to notify you about it.

First, open the start menu, and in the search box, type in

Folder Options

and press enter. Navigate to the 'View' tab. Check 'Show hidden files and folders'.Then tell him to navigate to C:\Windows and in the search box, type in 'SlowDownCPU.exe'. See what results come up. If there are none, there is no virus affecting system files. If there are results, we will guide you step by step.

EDIT: To stop the program starting up at boot, in the search box type

msconfig

and press 'Ctrl' + 'Shift' + 'Enter'. In the 'Startup' tab, uncheck anything to do with 'SlowDownCPU'.

Scenario:
CMOS battery died. XP got corrupted somehow. I d/l'd Windows 7 Ultimate ISO from MSDN and made a bootable dvd. Installed Windows 7 from the DVD. When I boot up now, I get the following error:

Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt.

Status: 0xc0000098
File: Windows\system32\DRIVERS\ql40xx.sys

Can anyone shed some light on how to resolve this?

Thanks,

Answer:Windows failed to load b/c driver is missing or corrupt

: QLA40XX iSCSI Host Bus Adapter
Description: QLogic iSCSI Storport Miniport Driver
Company: QLogic Corporation File size: Various

Go to website of that company and try to download driver.

You may have to use another compter and download to a finger drive etc.
Once you have it, you can boot from the Windows DVD and try to install.

Alternatively, you can go to device manager, under view, check show hidden drivers. If you find one with a yellow marker, you can try to dowload from there.

For the past couple of days i have been having a problem where my computer just shuts down on its own and then turns back on again. It mostly happens when im launching or playing a game but a couple of times i was just on the desktop and it restarted. I have checked the event logs and it keeps saying this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice.

I have searched all over the internet for the past couple of days and have found multiple answers (all of which didn't work). Some say its the psu and others say its the gpu. I personally think it was the windows update that i did three days ago because that was the day it started but i have yet to see anything online about a windows update causing this. I have already updated the graphics drivers and chipset drivers but it didn't change anything. Can someone just tell me whats going on because is just built this pc about 6 months ago and nothing like this has ever happened.

I am attaching a screen shot of the Kernel-PnP Event 219 that suggests that a device driver is failing to load at start up. I have been receiving this message for about three weeks and can't relate it to any particular event on my computer. I have trawled the net and had a look at Device Manager but I can't ascertain which driver is not loading and presumably needs to be updated.

I downloaded some software called "Driver Manager" and that has identified 28 out of date drivers. To correct the problem I have to pay a subscription that I can not really afford. Can someone help me identify which driver is causing the problem please?

Answer:Kernel-PnP Event ID 219 Driver failed to load problem.

Judesman, I don't recommend paying a subscription as you can get the drivers yourself. That seems to be a plug n play device, look ath the user action section in this link Kernel ID 219

Hello all.

After getting my FF7 set from a friend a couple weeks ago, nostalgia kicked in and I got his FF8 copy also but I'm having problems with it. I also have no problem playing FF7.

Installing it goes along with no problems till the end, where it says "Failed to load custom driver" and it goes to desktop. I try to start the game and same thing. I got the 1.2 patch but am unable to install EAX because again it says failed to load custom driver. What is going on?

Hello,

Can someone please help me find out what driver or service 'ksop' is? Or, how to fix it?

I've been troubleshooting my Windows 7 laptop to try and find the cause of random, sudden shutdowns and a bunch of 7026 and 7001 errors. This 'ksop' error pops up every time I reboot.

I tried clean-booting, SFC, CHKDSK, etc, but I can't narrow down a service as the culprit. I tried Googling 'ksop' but I couldn't find anything that explained what it was, or a record of anyone else asking about this issue.

Anyone out there have any idea?

Answer:Event ID 7026: 'ksop' driver failed to load?

So far all I've been able to find out is that 'KSop' is a pool tag, and it's associated with something related to Windows 7. I still don't know what driver it's for, how to find out, or how to fix.

If anyone has any ideas, clues, or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Please, I'm at my wit's end!

I thought this was my chance to wipe the whole think clean (using Alt+F10, acre Erecovery management) so I started doin it and after 17 long hours of the progress being stuck on 82% I decided it was time to turn of the computer and try it again, which I did and the whole thing was completed fine but when it restarted it came up with the message "windows failed to load a critical driver is missing or corrupt" and attempted to restart and try again only to be greeted with the same message again!

I have no windows 7 DVD but after a few hours of scratching my head I realized that my brother has the exact same laptop so I made a system repair disk from his laptop to use on mine... only to find that "startup repair cannot fix this computer automatically" and now it boots up but gets stuck on the windows logo screen and I've currently been there for almost 3 hours!

Can anyone help me please the laptops only a year old and I can't really afford the cost to get it fixed professionaly any help would be greatky appreciated... Thanks in advance guys!

Hey,

I am new on here, so I apologize if I don't include information that is needed right away.

However, I have a dell studio xps 16 and the thing keeps randomly restarting on me. I checked the event log and every time it lists a "critical" event (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.), the previous event is "fanio.sys failed to load."

I am thinking that for some reason, the failure of fanio.sys to start is causing my computer to crash and restart. Why is this happening?

Also, another interesting point is that nothing is being listed under Blue Screen Viewer -- only the event logger.

I have also had trouble with USB.sys crashing my system and believe that occurs whenever I have something plugged into my computer through usb and later unplug it -- the computer will crash at some random point after unplugging the usb.

Below is the bluescreenview information for when the system randomly restarts due to the usb.sys:

I have a ThinkPad Edge 13" - before last restart, I used Lenovo System Update and it updated some drivers, not all but incl. some recommended updates- still.. After this restart- even USB, Wifi, Wired, Audio was gone, in Device Manager it says "Windows couldn't load the driver" .. When I click the sound symbol it automatically searches for the driver, finds it, and again it says there's a driverproblem even if it's installed correctly. Now, as a datatechnician and C# programmer I am getting nervous about two possibilities .. Since I've never visited any dodgy websites or downloaded .exe files. 1. It could be a broken Lenovo update (Which I hope)2. It could be virus, malware, spyware, rootkit or worse .. I've had Security Essentials installed on my PC the entire time .. modelnumber of my edge: NUD2EMD About my EDGE it's been a mixed experience, I do not recognize the quality feel of the usual ThinkPads, the paint is easily worn off the edges just by putting it back/forth in a bag. Answer:System update & restart = USB,WIFI,LAN,AUDIO drivers failed to load.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/ How about trying a system restore and take it back before all the updates were done. If that works and everything is back like it was, then download this from the link and let it update and run a quick scan just to rule out any malware. If all your hardware is back working and you are not able to download malwarebytes, post back. If you are able to download it and do the scan and nothing shows up, then you can run your system update again and this time don't install everything at once, install one at a time and reboot after each one. Run your system and make sure there are no problems before you install the next one. The problem with doing a bunch of updates all at once makes it real difficult to determine which one is acting up. Let's work on getting your system back to normal and then we'll see what's going on with the wireless disconnecting and the problem with the start button.

I have created a system repair CD.
Before I make a backup of my hard disk on an external USB hard disk, I decided to test if the system repair CD will allow me to restore my hard disk from a backup on a USB hard disk. The usb HD was not recognized from the system repair environment so I tried to load the USB driver but the driver .sys file was nor recognized either

Is there another way I can restore a backed up version of my HD from a USB portable HD when Windows fails to startup?

Answer:How do I get the System Repair CD to load a USB driver?

Hi,

I think the easiest solution would be to create a system image of your hard disk. I prefer using FREE MACRIUM REFLECT for that:

Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download

The software works like this:

1. You create a system image of your hard disk, and store it to a USB drive
2. You create a bootable CD

When you need to recover your PC, you boot from the bootable CD, and the browse to the image on your USB drive. The image is restored to your PC exactly the same as the day you made the image.

Its very easy to use, but here is a tutorial that will help you out if you need it:

Imaging with free Macrium

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:18 PM CRITICAL- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

9:07:28 PM WARNING- "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0483&PID_2016\5&249af6f9&0&2."

9:07:42 PM ERROR- "The previous system shutdown at 9:05:49 PM on ‎7/‎13/‎2011 was unexpected."

9:07:44 PM ERROR- "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000099e0000007e, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff80002a92885). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071311-32869-01."

9:07:47 PM ERROR- "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

I also get this warning quite often:

Hi guys. I have a Dell Inspiron 15r SE 7520 laptop, running Windows 7 64 bit with a dual video card thing going on (integrated Intel Graphics 4000 and an ATI Radeon HD 7730m). I had upgraded to the newest 13.12 ATI driver recently in an attempt to fix some problems with some of my games running slow. In the process I messed up my Aero Glass, so I figured I'd uninstall the ATI driver and reinstall it, which I had done before in the past with no problems.

I ran the ATI Catalyst driver uninstaller and things were going OK, but partway through it blue-screened. The message indicated that the problem was due to the display driver timing out during a restart. I rebooted, and figured I'd go into safe mode. Instead, I ended up in the Startup Repair utility, which was unable to solve whatever problem has happened. The results from the utility said:

Hello and Happy New Year!I'm having a wee bit of trouble with my Windows XP system and I'm hoping this particular problem will be an easy one to solve. (My unit: Dell XPS 600)Beginning in early November my computer began crashing. When checking my 'Event Log' there is an ERROR log around this time (or leading up to each crash) that reads:Source: Service Control ManagerCategory: NoneEven ID: 7026Description: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: LbdnvraidTo make a long story sort of short, for the last two weeks I've been trying to research and troubleshoot the BSOD problems, which first lead me to a possible driver failure associated with my printer after sending the error report to Microsoft. I updated this and included many other "optional" updates to hardware and software. Soon after, I received new BSOD error messages, which led me to discover RAM failure using Microsoft Memory Diagnostics. I'm not certain that this problem was always the problem or was a result of the hardware/software driver failure the first BSOD screens pointed me to. I have since replaced both modules (going from 2 - 512modules to an upgrade of 2G). Now I currently do NOT have any BSOD problems (this is only day two) BUT now that I'm paying closer attention to the Event Log (because I'm not certain this fixed my bigger problem), I have noticed that the original ERROR is still occurring with each boot up.I'm concerned that ... Answer:System-start driver(s) failing to load

Lbd.sys is a Lavasoft Ad-Aware driver, while nvraid.sys is an nvidia raid driver.FWIW: If you adjust your viewing options, you can see the full file name, rather than just the first portion of it...as is reflected on your original post. Doing so makes it a lot easier to figure out what file is being referenced, since various types of files may possibly have the same initial portion of a given filename.http://www.fileinfo.com/help/windows-show-extensions.htmlThe error message either relates to installed drivers which need to be replaced...or they relate to items which have been removed from yur system but which have startup pointers. If Ad-Aware is currently installed...I suggest that you uninstall it...then reinstall it with a more current version from the Lavasoft website. If Ad-Aware is not currently installed...download/install AutoRuns for Windows - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx. Take a look at the Logon tab only.If you see anything on the list that relates to Ad-Aware or Lavasoft...disable it by removing the check mark. The nvraid.sys driver...are you running a RAID configuration?FWIW: I have an nVidia chipset on this system, but I don't have a nvraid.sys file installed and I don't use the RAID capability of the motherboard. So I would check the BIOS to see how yours is set up.LouisEdited to remove unintended comment.

I'm working with a Dell Dimension C521 PC. It came with a PCI-Express video card which apparently has failed, yet the motherboard itself has on-board video. The system will boot using this video output (as opposed to the card which produced nothing) but when it finally gets to windows the auto-detect driver routine kicks in and begins to detect the video card, prompting the user to "Continue Anyway" to finish installing unsigned drivers. Unfortunately this event takes place in front of the installation of the USB keyboard and mouse (times like these I wish it had PS/2 ). Anyway, whether I boot up into Safe Mode or normal a prompt comes up about installing drivers for the on-board chipset. I can't interact with it because the driver install routine for the keyboard/mouse becomes interrupted.

Answer:Dell Dimension C521; USB key/mouse driver load interrupted by video card driver load

Bump. I've been thinking... the only way I think this can be fixed is if I boot from a Linux CD or something similar and delete a particular set of drivers for this video card. It can't prompt you to install any drivers if they don't exist, right? But I don't know where to go to delete such files and prevent them from automatically trying to install themselves. Any ideas?

Guys,

Please review this issue for me as I need the answer for my references. This sometimes applies to setting up a new Internet Connection in Win 95 or 98. Let's say, that you have set up a new Internet Connection with new ISP path settings. Your asked to do a system restart, you do a restart and all is well until you get to a second screen in the bios that either says:

"Ethernet Adaptor failed to load press any key to retry" OR

"Ethernet driver failed to load press any key to retry"

I can't remember what the message says, but it's one or the other! after the word "Driver" or "Adaptor" it gives the driver name. You CAN however still get into Windows by pressing any key....But, the message will come up until you remove the driver.

I vaguely remember that to remove this message you go under Device Manager, under "Networking" and remove a device that has an exclamation point under it (This removes the network driver that doesn't load) But what does this message mean and how does it happen to get there in the first place? I know that it happens when setting up a new Internet Connection sometimes, but I need to know the exact steps for removing the driver because I might be changing ISP's in the future, and need to know what to do if this message comes up again! Thanks!

Jack

Answer:What Does "Ethernet Driver Failed To Load" Mean?

i think the message means that the driver is corrupted/not responding

why it happens, i dont know, but if u are installing a separate software to connect to your isp, this software might be the problem

the proper way of removing the driver is to delete it from device manager

Ok now, I've been searching all over the Internet and I've found many solutions to this problem which do help some and not others, and they're all different. Out from the answers, came up that one :

but the solution, related to Malware troubleshooting is not an obvious symptom in my case.

What Happened...
My started to face some BSOD issues in April, I started to believe into issues related to SSD OCZ2, which I replaced by a Samsung 840 Pro. However, while trying all kinds of solutions, I noted that the issue whatever it was was not the disk, so I reuse both SSD as C: and D:, on top of all other partitions

In fact I could come back to a Backup via Easus, that backup is like an enriched clean install, which is one year old, but seems to be very fit. It costed me Days to succeed and not lose more.

After maximum 2 additional weeks, BSOs came back. There is not any cause mentioned in the BlueScreen.
I jumped again onto the Windows 7 installation Disk (both CD and USB) to run all kinds of tests, with no success.

Answer:Windows Failed to Start, System Repair Can't Discover Problem, bad driver

ok thanks for the many replies first of all, probably nobody got inspired by so much text I agree.

As my Mobo Asus P8P67 has a design error (built 2011), I first decided to send it back to Asus.
First time to disassemble and soon reassemble a PC.

If technically all ok, I will proceed with the main issue : pnpclass.sys blocks in safe mode. All other boot modes being out.

It seems to leave all doors of errors open, so again if anybody would help out, I wouldn't reject the support.

Can anyone direct me as to where the "base system drivers" are for the Lenovo 3000 C200? I have to purchase a new hard drive (after the factory one failed) and I loaded all drivers fine except this one listed in the device manager. Any help greatly appreciated!

Answer:3000 C200 Need to load "base system driver"

I'm new to this forum, i got a used Lenovo 3000 C200 and have the exact same problem... three "base system device" apears as the much hated yellow question mark under "unknown devices". i readed that those are found usually in the Chipset drivers, but on the intel page they say that those are found on the Lan configuration drivers pack that intel distributes, so when i got back to the "lenovo drivers download" page i find out that lan drivers are under Realtek control. Can anyone please tell us where to download the correct drivers to solve this problem? i really don't want to download any driver from the lenovo page, those are more than 2 years old... (btw, Lenovo: you should update driverson that page frecuently...) Sorry for my bad english.

Hi

When I right click My Computer on Vista Start menu the page says "The page failed to load"

I enclose a screenshot of the error.

I was also get "the application has failed to start because WINBRAND.dll was not found" when running

SystemPropertiesAdvanced

From RUN

This has now been fixed by downloading WINBRAND.dll and copying it to c:\windows\system32

But "The page failed to load" still happens when right clicking My Computer and choosing properties.

I did a SFC / Scannow and something weird happened. The Command Window had an error (apologies - forgot to note which but will rerun in a moment) however the CBS Log File showed no errors and indicated SFC ran successfully.

I will post the results of SFC in a few moments

Thanks for your help.

Monday couldn't boot up PC, had to go to system recovery and restore to previous day.

Log files show below that 4 things failed to load.

Tuesday couldn't boot up PC again.. tried to restart like 4-5 times.. Finally comes up and in the logs there's numerous things that failed to load. Running a sfc /scannow right now.

Any ideas what this could be related to or what is causing it?

Answer:Solved: Boot-Start or System-Start Drivers failed to load.

MpFilter is a driver associated with Microsoft Security Essentials... It looks like that was causing issues. Windows Updates had an update for it.. So I downloaded update.. Restared and it worked fine. Removed MS Security Essentials and installed Symantec istead.

Working for the time being...

Briefly:
My old system hasn't been powered on for about a year. Problem was the onboard video failed (I think)

Recently replaced it with a video card from another system (riva TNT) and bought some memory (system wouldn't boot, determined that the memory was bad)

Now the system booted but win2K wouldn't work. No problem I have XP now...

After multiple error during the xp install I finally got through it...only the computer will only boot in safe mode..

Initially thought it was a hardare conflict so I booted in safe mode with networking and systematically cleared all the yellow ??? in device manager

Still will not boot normally

Checked event log got the following error:
Event 7026: The following boot-start or system-start drivers failed to load:

Amdk7
fips

Searched the net found a M$ support about it

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306458

couldn't find amdk7.sys but managed to update the driver over the net, now its there...yet I get the same error

I did the regedit described but no folder called "parameters"

Made one....didn't work....deleted the value
added the key to my available folder....didn't work

I'm at wits end....I've been working on this (off and on) for a month

Can anyone help with this one?????

Hi,

I posted this annoying problem on the MS community but I think only useless moderators are running that forum, hopefully that is not the case here.

I am using win7 64 bit and recently my machine can no longer hibernate for a second time after a clean boot (after a clean boot it can hibernate but then it cannot after a resume). I noticed Event 45 in the event viewer and it does not make any sense. I tried to hibernate from the command line but I am getting a message "not enough storage is available to process this command.(8)". When the hibernation fails I got back to the login screen (as if I locked the station).

It is an annoying problem since I have to restart the PC every other day, so if anyone smart enough to give some insights, I would be grateful.

Should I just email HP and ask for the specific drivers information and downloads? The reason I suppose the information would help is I've used the recovery disc in the past and reinstalled drivers. I was pretty certain I got them all, but I was wondering if just maybe I didn't put them in the right spot hence the second boot working.

I'm not sure where to even begin to fix these problems. Some online searches suggested doing a system repair but I want to get some more feedback here before proceeding.

Here is the message from the event log:
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AFD
cmdGuard
cmdHlp
CSC
DfsC
discache
ElbyCDIO
inspect
MpFilter
NetBIOS
NetBT
nsiproxy
Psched
rdbss
spldr
tdx
vwififlt
Wanarpv6
WfpLwf

I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues. I do have another recent thread here regarding system crashes so I'll leave that alone in this post.

TIA

Answer:the following boot start or system start drivers failed to load

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7, or a Repair Install would a better first option.

You will have to reinstall the third-party drivers again yourself from their website.

Hope this helps,

Harry
