Preferred Solution: Microsoft management console has stopped working

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Microsoft management console has stopped working

Sorry, which error? Could you post a screenshot?

And has it ever worked since you upgraded, or has it stopped working recently?
Do you have any useful restore points or disk images?

When trying to open tools such as the firewall, event viewer or any other mmc snap-in i get the program has stopped wirking windows saying 'Microsoft Management Console has stopped working'

I have treid clean booting, restarting, check disk, sfc /scannow in cmd

Soes anyone have any suggestions on how to fix my problem

Answer:Microsoft Management Console has stopped working

Are you using a Universal Theme Patcher? I found out a long time ago, in windows 7, using such a tool for shell themes kills mmc and few other windows services. I don't use these "toys" any more. try sfc/scannow and then reboot.

Answer:Microsoft Management Console has stopped working!

Check for data corruption.Run Disk Check with Automatically fix file system errors checked. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log.
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations.

Hello again,

This thread is in relation to the other thread that I had created not too long ago. Over the course of the weekend, I've experienced some trouble when I had attempted to open my "Device Manager" in Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. I opened under "System" in Windows 7, but it gives me a window that the MMC console has stopped working.

I've tried accessing through "Administrative Tools" under Control Panel. The problem remains the same. Therefore, I've tried reinstalling the entire operating system - but the problem remains the same. From my own research, the only way on preventing MMC from crashing is - disabling certain services and functions at startup (in this case, the "Themes" services). I've found out from one user (albeit running in a different operating system) who has a similar problem and it's all exhibited from these two links - here and here. I've followed that step and so far - all thing's are relatively stable.

I've also did an SFC (System File Checker) check in Windows 7, but they have failed to fix some of the problems relating to my issue.

To summarize, each time I wanted to access my hardware profile for my desktop system in Windows 7, the computer has kept crashing. I'm hinting that my hard drive is about to go bust any day now.

If you need any more information in regards to my hardware, please let me know. Also, what can I do to prevent MMC from crashing again in the future?

I can?t run the Component services, Computer Mgmt, event viewer, Local Security Policy, task scheduler, Windows Firewall with Advanced Security, Windows PowerShell Modules from Administrative tools, because it requires MMC-Microsoft Mgmt Console, which doesn?t work anymore. I can?t run them from the start menu either.

I?m not sure when this problem started. The same problems exist when logged in as Administrator.

Hi Shawn. Somebody told me today that Microsoft Management Console was something cool that I should look at. So I looked at it. It appears you launch it by opening a Command Prompt (I suppose it should be elevated but I didn't use one) and entering MMC. I am thinking that's equivalent to opening a Run box & entering MMC, or doing a Search for MMC & executing it.) So how come it isn't accessible through the GUI, let's say from something in Start Menu -> All Programs -> System Tools, for example? I know I could pin it there, but how come Microsoft didn't put something there as part of the standard configuration? (Or in maybe Administrative Tools or . . . nothing else jumps out at me.)

In any case, I opened the thing & looked around. I read about 2/3 of the built-in help. I looked at the list of available snap-ins.

And I was bewildered. What is this thing for? Most of the snap-ins appear to be for things I can get at otherwise from items at some level of the Start Menu.

So I came to the Forums here, where I've been finding no end of answers to all sorts of questions & I find . . . a handful of Tutorials, all written by you, explaining how to do tasks whose usefulness I don't totally grasp. And none of them has any follow-on posts. Which makes me suspect I am not alone in wondering what is this thing for?

So I'm requesting a Tutorial that puts forward possible scenarios in which someone might find MMC useful. In the end, maybe I won't find ... Read more

Answer:Microsoft Management Console

Hello Willy,

The MMC is mostly for use that cannot be done through the normal GUI and other MSCs (Group Policy, Security Policy, Local User and Groups, etc.....) . I'm not sure why there's not a shortcut to it in the Start Menu or Administrative Tools by default, but one could easily be created for it and added though.

Here are some tutorials for MMC to give an idea for some of what it can be used for.Microsoft Mangement Console - Create Custom MSC

Ok this is one retarded thing thats always been happening

I have a copy of XP Pro on this one computer, and everytime i try to open a utility that has anything to do with the "Microsoft Management Console", (Microsoft's Defrag, Device Manager, and many others) i get a simple error message that states

Failed to Create Empty Document

Well Microsoft says: This but it doesnt help at all. Doesnt do anything at all...

Anyone know what the problem might be?

Could it have something to do with it being the original release of XP?

Since we have dial-up internet, I have never installed that many of the HotFixes or the Service Pack, so could this maybe fix it? I looked through the microsoft downloadables and couldnt find anthing that seemed to point to it directly...

When i got to a friends house for a LAN party, i think ill bring the box along and just let it mooch of his Highspeed internet, downlaoding updates. maybe that will fix the problem

I used to have this same exact copy of windows on another machine a long time ago, but retired it since it had this same problem

MY OTHER PROBLEM!

I downloaded "bootvis" (from majorgeeks, since MS doesnt have it anymore) and i tried to run it on this XP machine and i get this error:
----------------------- --( vVv one word vVv )
"Procedure entry point winiopentracewithcursor could not be located in the dynamic lybrary advapi32.dll"

Any ideas?

thanks!

My Microsoft Management Console is not working and hasn't been working for the better part of five/six months.  I've undertook an endeavor to try to fix it and the deeper I dig, the more problems I seem to come across.  Now I'm computer savvy, but just on the surface, I haven't dug deep into the rabbit hole that is the command prompt and things like that and so that's why I'm here.

I've tried to do a system scan (sfc /scannow in the command prompt), and it gives me the message: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but what unable to fix some of them." Needless to say, it didn't fix the issue.  I went to check the CBS.log and that is just a whole bunch of jargon my uneducated mind cannot sift through.

So I browsed around forums and I tried to do a DISM-thing, and I get the message: "Service Pack Cleanup can't proceed: No service pack backup files were found.  The operation completed successfully."

I've done virus scans, I've done all I can think of without doing something stupid (or maybe I already have?).

... and yet the problem persisted.  So before I get into trying to do this myself, the hard/bad way, I come to you all.

Please help me fix this issue.

Answer:Microsoft Management Console

Open the Command Prompt and run it as an administrator, then copy and paste the following command and press Enter.

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"

This will place a new icon on the desktop titled sfcdetails.  Double click on this icon to
the CBS log, copy and paste the log in your topic.

DISM is used in Windows 8/8.1.

Task manager the one we get by pressing: ctrl-Alt-Del

Thanks.

Answer:Microsoft Management console winXP help!!!

I dont believe you can add/remove snap-ins, but you can obviouslly add them in to mmc; i dont think mmc has a task manager snap in, If you are just wanting the graphs then you can go to the system monitor and record the counters to record only the performance of the network and the processor.

Microsoft Windows includes a console of various tools which is used for managing and maintenance functions.
The console is called as Microsoft Management Console (MMC) which hosts and displays administrative tools created by Microsoft and other software providers for Windows. These tools are called snap-ins, and they are used for managing the hardware, software, and network components of Windows.
Several of the tools are available in the Administrative Tools folder in Control Panel, such as Computer Management, are MMC snap-ins.
Windows 7 MMC ver3.0 comes with many new snap-ins. such as performance monitoring tools etc.
For more information about a specific MMC snap-in, open an MMC snap-in and read the Help topics that come with it. You can access the Help topics by clicking the Help menu, and then clicking Help Topics.
You can easily create your MMC snap-ins, follow the link to more about How To Create Custom MMC Snap-in Tools Using Microsoft Management Console.

Did you do an upgrade install or a clean install? If an upgrade, from what? (This may matter) Important: Did you install/update all of your drivers to Windows 7 drivers from the PC mfg's site if name brand and upgraded components drivers form component mfg's site or from component mfg's site for custom or non-name brand? To function properly, you must do this as soon as you install/upgrade.You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Hello Auld Bint Welcome to SF,

I guess its an issue with UAC. What you could do is Go to Start > under search type in MMC and Right Click and Run as administrator i believe that should open the console.

Hope this helps,

I've tried searching for a solution to this problem but can't find one. If mmc.exe has become corrupted would it be possible to copy the file from an old drive I have laying around that still has a Windows 7 installation on it?

Answer:Microsoft Management Console error...

Hello and welcome to SF!

I'd do a repair install: Repair Install

Or, if you want to try something quick and safe first:
Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

Read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Have you tried going to Start> Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management. It sounds like there's a corrupted file or a service is denying you access. You are the Administrator of windows? After trying the first scenario go to Start>Run and type services.msc and when the services window opens make sure Event Log, Windows Management Instrumentation(WMI), and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) are started and not disabled. Let us know how you make out.

How do I copy a Console pathname? E.g., I drill down to "Console Root\Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Account Policies\ Password Policy".

Hi all,

I've been fighting with this issue for about a week now, no matter what I try it won't go away. I found it after trying to figure out why my SQL database access was so slow...

Every time I click on 'Services and Applications' inside Computer Management, I get the message "MMC has detected an error in a snap-in." When I choose to report the error so I can see the error report, it was the app 'sqlmanager.dll' that fell over. (AppVer 2005.90.2047.0). In case anybody asks; MMC is already version 3.0 from the XP SP3 update.

I currently have SQL Express 2005 with service pack 2, hasn't given me trouble before, and there isn't anything helpful in the event log viewer (no description for error 1000, etc).

I have already sent this error through to Microsoft, but I was wondering if anybody else has any suggestions? I really don't feel like re-installing if there's another way around this...

Greetings,
Hoping that someone can help me out.... Dell Inspirion desktop, win7 home premium, about 1-2 years old. Has been running ok until last week. Major symptom is screen stuck at 640x480. When I right click and try to change the resolution, I get long string of ::{26ee0688- blah blah.... as the dialog title, and in the box it says "windows cannot find same long string underneath... hit ok and another dialog box titled explorer.exe and inside it says windows cannot find ". make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. hit ok, tried again and same results.... this led to poking around in control panel. noticed that many items I clicked to open would not respond.... nothing. ex. personalization or display or system or troubleshooting... when i clicked device manager, got dialog titled microsoft management console, inside MMC cannot open the file c:\\windows\system32\devmgmt.msc. stuff about it may not exist, is not a console, or created by a later version of mmc.. or i don't have sufficient rights... tried administrative tools and it did come up, and opened an explorer view of files like component services, computer management etc. clicking all said same mmc cannot open file message.... Googled a bit and was led to attempting the sfc /scannow tool. Tried for several days and got the same message "windows resource protection, could not start the repair service"...hence my attempt in forums.. now, as I type this desperate... Read more

Hi and thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this.

I am having trouble with Microsoft Management Console in Windows XP Professional.

I look after a small network for the charity I work for. I have previously used Microsoft Management Console succesfully. My intention was to stop unwanted links appearing in My Network Places. For 6 machines I have achieved this in the following manner:

Click Start, click Run, type mmc.exe, and then click OK.
In Microsoft Management Console (MMC) click Add/Remove Snap-in on the Console menu.
Click Add.
Click Group Policy, and then click Add.
Accept the default (which is Local Computer), and then click Finish.
Click Close, and then click OK.
Under Local Computer Policy, expand the User Configuration entry.
Expand the Administrative Templates entry.
Expand the Desktop entry.
Right-click Do not add shares of recently opened documents to My Network Places, and then click Properties.
Click Enabled, and then click OK.
As I said this has worked fine on 6 machines. We just got a new computer and I have tried to set it up in the same way, however when I get to step 8 above (expand the Administrative Templates entry), there is only one sub-directory, entitled "Windows Components". On the other machines there are 7 sub-directories including "Desktop", which is the one I need to ammend.

My question is how can I get the Desktop sub-directory to appear. I think in this context these sub-directories are called templa... Read more

Answer:Solved: Microsoft Management Console (mmc) - Entries (policies?) Missing

I have XP Pro, DELL Inspiron 6000 laptop that is about 2.5 years old. I scanned my hard drive as routine maintenance, and it found damaged sectors and tried to move data to another sector. Now, when I try to open Microsoft Management Console I get a Data Execution Prevention error.

I also can't open IE7 - it closes down with another Data Execution Prevention error.

I also get the same error trying to print to PDF Creator.

I tried copying files to a USB drive, fearing the worst. The copy fails every noe and then with a write-back error.

Finally, one of my USB drives does not get recognized (but it does on my other PC's and it used to on my problem laptop).

This is the third hard drive I have put into this laptop.

Can something in my laptop (virus, damaged files) be frying my laptop????

I use AVG Anti-virus and also scan regularly with Ad-Aware and Spybot and CCleaner.

Am I doomed to another hard drive blow-up?

TIA,

Hi Folks,

I can open device manager, but whenever I try any function, search for new hardware, update drivers, disable device, etc, device manager crashes with the error "Microsoft Management Console Has Stopped Working." Other Management console programs work fine (event viewer, performance monitor).

I've run sfc /scannow half a dozen times. I've run it from a clean boot, I've run it 3 times in a row, I've run it, restarted, and then run it again. No errors found.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hiya

The Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 (MCMS) Web Author enables non-technical content contributors, who have the appropriate rights, to create and approve content on a Web site. Using the Web Author console, content contributors can update the Web site without leaving their Internet Explorer Web browser.

By modifying the code included in an MCMS project, you can easily customize the Web Author console to meet your business needs. For example, you can change the look of the Web Author console, remove actions, hide or show status messages, and create a new channel action.

This document describes the architecture of the Web Author console, and it explains how you can customize and extend the Web Author console for use with ASP.NET-based sites.

The examples in this document use the WoodgroveNet sample site, which is included on the MCMS product CD.

The power management utility stopped working and when I try to save the Laptop/portable profile from the Control Panel power Management screen I get a message saying the Power Management cannot be set as two revision levels are incompatible.

I have tried removing and reinstalling the Power Managment Utility and Toshiba Utilities but when reinstalling I get a Fatal error notice and error code of 0x51A. Can anyone help please?

I suspect this problem may have been triggered by an update to either XP or Norton Internet Security.

Answer:Portege A100 power management utility stopped working

Hi

Possibly the registry is muddled up
Try to clean and repair the registry using CCleaner. It?s free tool.

So firstly uninstall the power saver, then clean registry.
Download from Toshiba European driver page the drivers and tools for Portege A100 Win XP.
You will need:

Common Module -> must be installed at first!
Power Saver

Good luck

Hello HP community, I've been upgrading our organization's laptops to Windows 10 and turning on BitLocker for TPM-enabled machines. We have a decent volume of the 6460b model (around 75), and I have gone through well over half of them without issue. I've had to turn the TPM on for several of them, but that's no problem. However, last week, I was getting two more of the laptops updated and suddently encountered an error message when going to the TPM Management interface within Windows: "Cannot load management console "Loading of the management console failed. The device that is required by this cryptographic provider is not ready for use. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80090030) Try again." The TPM shows in the device manager, but not in Speccy. The option in the BIOS for TPM controls is greyed out. I've tried the following and seen no change in symptoms:Uninstalling the TPM from the device manager and letting it re-install.Checking for any additional Windows updates.Updated the chipset drivers directly from the HP support site.Modifying the permissions in the BIOS to ensure that TPM options are set to "Change" rather than "View" or "Hide."Updating the BIOS with files from the HP support site. What other information could I provide that would help identify the issue here? It seems like the TPM is there because it continues to re-install itself after I remove it from the device manager. Further, the error indicates that it's not ready for use, implying ... Read more

Morning Group,

I'm at my wits end on this.  I have a Windows 7 Pro computer with Office 365 installed, and all of a sudden, I'm getting the dialog box with the dreaded "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working...".    This in not only happening with Outlook, but all of Office apps, like Word, Excel and PowerPoint, to name a few.

To make things more interesting, everything was working perfectly up until a week ago.  During this time, I have made no other updates to any of my programs/apps.

I have gone to Microsoft's site, Google to find answers on how to fix the problem.   I tried everything possible.   I have download all of the latest Window 7 Pro updates, uninstalled, re-installed, safe boots, "outlook.exe /safe", and NOTHING solves the problem.  I even went as far as updating the drivers from HP.

I am very frustrated and angry that a solution cannot be found.

Has anyone out there experience the same thing and found a solution?

Sure would appreciate any more suggestions or ideas on how to solve this.

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,

Grant Boice

Hi, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1) and my computer has (relatively) recently stopped automatically updating. I have a constant alert in the status bar telling me this is the case with automatic updates and attempting it manually gives me an error code - 80096001 - immediately after attempting it. This problem may have coincided with me uninstalling AVG some time ago, but I'm not sure when it began for sure.

The reason for the thread title is because I recently attempted to install Microsoft Security Essentials, which also failed to auto-update in its initial setup. Could these issues be linked?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A week ago I installed Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 upgrade on top of Windows 2000, with no problems at all until now.

When I now open up Outlook 2007 after about 30 seconds I get an error message:-
Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working, windows is collecting more information about this problem.

I then asked if I want to send more information about the problem to Microsoft.

The next message:- A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Outlook closes and goes back to desktop.

I have looked on the Microsoft Office for updates or patches but there is nothing.

I am very concerned I cannot open this program as I have hundreds of contacts, email accounts and valuable data there.

If I uninstalled Office 2007 and re-install it again, will all my data still be on the computer, or will I loose everything?

Help please

Microsoft Word always worked fine on my computer until a few days ago when I tried to open it and it said something about a missing shortcut, it says:

Mising Shortcut
Windows is searching for WINWORD.EXE. To locate the file yourself, click Browse

and then after a few seconds a box comes up saying:

Problem With Shortcut
The item "WINWORD.EXE" that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?

I have no idea what's happened, I don't remember changing or moving any shortcut or whatever it's talking about, it was working fine one day and then the next day it wasn't working at all.
I tried to do a System Restore because I thought that might reset the computer to how it was before Word stopped working, but it said there were no restore points so I couldn't do that.
Can someone please try to help?

Answer:Microsoft Word just stopped working....

What if you run the executable directly?

For Office 2003, the path is:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\winword.exe

See if that works.

Sincerely,

Grant Boice

My security (Zone Alarm) has recently started to warn me about the above programme "trying to open privileged information" I have no idea what BitDefender is - or how it came to be knocking at my door! Can anyone shed some light, please?

Answer:BitDefender Management Console

Bit Defender is an Anti Virus software suite. You may have "inadvertently" installed it on your PC at some point - free trial perhaps ? Zone Alarm is no doubt "doing its job" Have a look in your add/remove programs list to see if it is there - if so uninstall.

Can someone please explain Hardware Management Consoles (HMC) in the Mainframe computing environment. I have looked online and they all talk about it but I need a simple answer. How many do you have for one LPAR? If using one, does that prevent someone from doing work to the same LPAR? Thanks...

Answer:Hardware Management Console

Hashim,

Well actually, this is a PC Forum as opposed to a Mainframe Forum.

But back in the day...I worked for IBM. But at that time the only systems that had "hardware consoles" were high end systems that ran MVS.

The purpose of the Console is to reconfigure allocation of System Resources. As my memory serves me ....there was only one 'Hardware Console' attached to the Physical machine.

An LPAR...a Logical Partition, can have one or more System Consoles attached to it, as supported by its Op/Sys. An LPAR is like a Virtual Address Space for running applications & Op/Sys. Machine resources are allocated to individual LPARs. This is similar, but different than the way VM/370 handled it.

In VM there was a VM System Console (machine console) and then individual System Consoles for each Guest Op/Sys. Hardware (Real or Virtual) could be "attached" to the Guests in various ways, shared or Dedicated.

So, think of the HMC as the VM Console and the Guest Machines as the LPARs. Giving and reallocating resources is done thru the main Console in each system.

Therefore, when you said, "How many do you have for one LPAR? If using one, does that prevent someone from doing work to the same LPAR?" This statement doesn't compute.

I am using XP on a laptop with a wireless USB mouse. The error is:Microsoft Management Console Failed to create empty document.I went to the MS site and found the error.  The fix said I had to open start, go to control panel, go to system and in environment add.........sorry I don't remember the rest something t do with a temp file aimed in the wrong direction. The problem is, I can open start, but nohing else opens so I can't even begin to fix the problem.I couldn't get my full system info because my mouse only carries out certain tasks.  I can open from 'start' but I can't activate any of the keys.I can get webpages from my bookmarks, but can't open any links on the pages.I have tried to run a diagnostic programme, but again, I can't open it.  I tried to run defrag but can't even open that. Thanks for your help. What I can do is use the laptop through a good part of the day and then it just stops doing things one after the other.

Whether I call up the Computer management console by 'compmgmt.msc' at
the command line or use a shortcut, nothing appears in the window to
the right of the console tree (just 'no items to show in this view).

The group policy editor is similarly affected.

How do I get everything back? I have been googling the problem, but
have not come up with anything useful.

I can access the info by typing any *.msc at the command line though.

Any ideas for a fix?

Answer:Computer management console

Run the System File Checker

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow ( sfc if not reconized)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem. You will need your Windows cd.

Hello Again Major G Tech-sters,

I've been getting a funny error message that, although seemingly harmless and without bad symptoms accompanying it, nonetheless has me concerned.
Upon shutting down some apps, like my e-mail server (Thunderbird), or Nero X-press, the following window pops up at me:

Microsoft Management Console

MS Mgt Console encountered a problem, needs to close.
AppName: mmc.exe Version: 5.2.3790.4136
ModName: ntdll.dll

Checking closer for technical info, It says it is an Oxc0000005 type error....which I think I recall has to do with available RAM memory.

I have two 512MB Ram sticks. It's a medium grade Celeron processor. Nero, and other apps use a lot of memory when I use them for certain things (as you can probably imagine).
From My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Virtual Memory I have my settings at 1900-1900 for both C:\ and D:\ internal hard drives.

Are there better settings ?

Thanks folks, you're the best,
-scottportraits

my usb optical mouse was working just fine but when i switched on my laptop this morning it wasn't working anymore. the red laser is lit at the bottom of the mouse but the cursor doesn't move.

i checked the device manager and saw 2 alerts under the Human Interface Devices tab. One for HP Quick Launch Buttons and the other is for USB Human Interface Device. I presume the latter is my mouse. When i check on properties for both the alerts it says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

All the driver files do seem to be in place or so I think since I haven't done any changes lately. I have already tried uninstalling both error causing devices under the Human Interface Devices tab. But when I reboot, both the devices automatically re-appear and with the yellow exclamation mark error still there. Any ideas on how to resolve this??

I'm on a HP 500 notebook running on XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

When I try to run one of my Microsoft office professional plus 2010 programs I get an error message that reads:Microsoft setup boots-trapper had stopped workingA problem caused the program to stop working corectly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. There is one button on the pop up that says close program. Once I click mentioned button i get another error message that reads:Microsoft office professional plus 2010 cannot verify the license for this application. A repair attempt failed or was canceled by the user. the application will now shut down.I also tried to unistall it and I receive the first error message I mentioned. Once I click the button all the windows for un-installation close. I have tried backing up everything and reinstalling windows and I have also done a system restore to a point that I knew no errors were occuring and the problem just carries over. I searched the web as well but all I could find were these really complicated sulutions that I decided not to try for fear of making the problem worse. Any help will be completely appericiated.

Uninstall Office again and try installing it from a different CD/DVD drive. If that's not possible, copy the entire Office CD contents to your hard drive and run setup from there.

Microsoft display adapter BC was working perfectly until a few days ago. It stopped working while I was watching a video. Now when I try to connect, the screen goes black for a few seconds and then the TV goes back to the Microsoft ready to connect screen. My computer screen flashes the message "display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered" I have not installed any new hardware or downloaded anything recently to cause this problem. Any advice?

Answer:Why has microsoft display adapter BC stopped working?

Hi guest,
I think you can try to register to this forum and it will help you track your questions solved more easily. The "display driver stopped responding had has recovered" is a common question. Normally it happens when you playing games, and view videos. Usually is the gpu overload operation or you need to update your graphic drivers.
You can try to solve this problem follow these steps:
1. Update the graphic drivers. (normally, when you do this step, it will solve your problem.)
2. End program by Task Manager, especially for game program and video program.
3. Increase the TDR data.
4. Update system package.
5. Reset GPU frequency.
6. Update Motherboard/Bios drivers.
7. Cooling computer.
8. Change graphic card.
And you can follow this article: How to fix display drivers stopped responding and has recovered to do it step by step.
