I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Earlier this year I updated Norton Systemworks 2004 with 2005. Since then I get frequent interruptions with the message "Norton Protection: Attention! Unable to load Icon Library OK". Each time this happens it freezes the computer for 30 secs or more. I have searched for files *.icl, but have found none. I don't know whether I can reinstall Systemworks (I bought it online & downloaded it) or even if that is the problem. Any suggestions? I am using Windows Me on a Dell Dimension 4100, 384 MB memory, 80 GB HD.

Answer:Norton "Unable to Load Icon Library"

Hiya and welcome

Are you still having this problem? If so, have you got the latest update:

After slaving away at a hot CD cleaner (the MadCatz one to be specific), I found that my Windows XP Pro CD still had several light scratches here and there. Despite this, I was able to reformat my HD with it, although I had to skip the copying of several files along the way (scrobj.dll, script.dll, script_a.dll, some others). With about 15 minutes left in thecd key-entering part of the setup, I get this error:

Windows cannot load the Internet Configuration library (ICFGNT.DLL). The following error occurred: The specified module could not be found.

Setup continues smoothly when clicking "OK," but I can't connect to the internet when setup is complete, nor can I install my nVidia nForce Network Access Manager/Firewall. The error for that goes soemthing along the lines of, "Runtime Script could not be found."

I use Windows Vista, and pass all the minimum requirements, and all but one of the recommended requirements to run this game.

I have windows XP OS and am unable to load the yahoo Chat pages. I get a message saying i may need to download an updated version of Microsoft VM. However, when i go to the Microsoft site i get lost not really understanding what i need to download. Can anyone out there help..................?

Many thanks.

Answer:Yahoo Chat "VM" update required

'technically' VM is no longer offered through MS due to some legal hassles with Sun Java, yet MS does offer the update (and will until sept '04) but it's hard to find through the usual update routine (as you've discovered)

MS's explanation and method
or
you could download Sun java and that should fix things up

but here is a direct link to the latest version (3810) from MS Windows Update Catalogue.

a download dialogue box opens, save to etc

note: unauthorized versions are on the net and links may be posted, but the one above is the legal MS site.

good luck

I recently uninstalled and wiped all my firefox settings after installing a addon call ghostborwser (or something similar) it has a icon of Casper the Friendly ghost to represent it. It Removed all my colour and images form ALL websites visited it was suposed to be (I assumed anyways) like a 'bosskey to hide the browser/make it invisible, after the colour faded from my world I uninstalled the Addon and restarted firefox and the colour and images were still gone so I uninstalled firefox and erased all of my settings out of the Docs setting folder (Exept for backing up my bookmarks)and used ccleaner to purge the rgistery of firefox enteies to start fresh.

I then reinstlled firefox 2.0.0.14 and tried loading it I got the

"firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Message restarted and got the same I rebooted and still the same message
I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times still and still get:

firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Any ideas?

Whenever it is time to update Adobe Flash on my desktop I get this error message during the update process. I have to uninstall the program and then reinstall it directly through Firefox to get it to update. My laptop, which runs an Nvidia card, doesn't have this problem.

Is this normal system behavior? Is there a way to fix this so that the updates work the way they are supposed to? I have spent a lot of time researching the problem before stumbling onto this solution. But it should not be so hard to update Flash.

Answer:Adobe flash update: "unable to load application configuration"

The question in my mind is which version of the Flash installer the error is coming from. By that I mean, is it attempting to update Flash in Firefox or Internet Explorer? So, open this page in both Firefox and IE:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

Many people forget to update Flash for IE, and if that version is borked up then it may be giving you the error you're getting and whatever you do with the Firefox version doesn't matter.

As a side note, are you using or have ever attempted to use Flash on 64-bit versions of either Firefox or IE? You probably haven't, but I'm just checking.

Randomly, I received a blue screen stating something like "Client side encryption is not supported by the remote server even though it claims to"

After restarting, my computer failed to start normally.(I think it failed to load the operating system?) It went to some kind of auto repairing thing to fix itself in order to startup properly. But it failed.

Hello everyone
Recently, I'm playing Anno 1404 (also called Dawn of Discovery) in my Vista Home Basic 32bit finely until I saw the problem with the "save/load" problem. First, it saves "systematically" but, the save is corrupted to a 5kb file. Second, the game can't load the 'properlly saved' save file, and also the corrupted one also.

Few of the players had the similar problem, and someone said that making another user account works, and I tried and really worked for me. Yes, I can play this way, but all of my files and infos are saved in the Administrator account, and I don't want to switch users just to play that game

Recently I found a useful MS program, which is runas, and found how to run as another account. It asks for the account pw, and everythis was fine, but it doesn't run my game
It just closes the cmd and nothing happens. What could be this problem?
I hope Ubi gives out this fixing patch fast

Answer:Anno 1404 "save/load" problem and using "runas.exe"

Figured it out with Runasspc program (which also saves the password! )

Hey,

I copied and pasted my problem to Yahoo about their "Friends" list in chat. Maybe some of you are having the same situation if you chat on Yahoo so I posted it here: (Running Win 98/Netscape 4.75)

I have a problem with my "Friends List" in chat. (I am not running messenger). I want to delete someone on my friends list and when I go to hit "Delete" it says, "This option can not be undone", so I click "Yes" to the "Are You Sure?" prompt and my friends are gone from the list. However, when I sign out and sign into the chat again, my friends are there again. (Like they were never deleted before)

Also, I can not delete an entire chat group, if I go to "Delete" the entire group, "Chat Friends" answer yes to "You are about to delete the entire group chat friends." I click on "Yes" and "Finished", but instead of confirming my selection, an HRL link pops up with nothing else on the screen that says. "This document has moved here" and I click on that, and I am back to the "My Yahoo Messenger Page" If I go back to "chat" my "Friends List catagory is still there (With friends in it) so in other words, the final "Finished" prompt to clear the "Friends List" is not going through.

Answer:Anyone Else Having Problems with Yahoo's "Friends List" in Chat?

Hey Guys,

What I did was I just went under "Edit" and deleated the Group name and put nothing in the box and clicked finished and that will clear the list of everyone in the group as well as the group itself! (Of Course, Yahoo doesn't tell you this...LOL!) At least it's a work around to get rid of a chat group or get friends off your list if your not friends anymore! haha

I am using windows XP, and I have accessed yahoo chat on this same system before. When I go to Yahoo Chat I make it all the way to the screen that says loading where the little fake status bar runs. Then when it is full and it says to connect I click connect.

When I do I get a Microsoft Internet Explorer error message :

DHTML was unable to load correctly. [no voice object]
press ENTER to return to chat front page

when I hit OK I get

DHTML was unable to load correctly. [no popup object]
press ENTER to return to chat front page

Than I hit OK again and I go back to the main screen. Also there are some web sites where the links wont do anythjing when I click them. Is this a problem with my Java software? How can I verify that I have the right settings, and change them if I do not?

Thanks

this shows up whenever i right click an icon on my desktop, any suggestions?

Answer:"Can't load "GDExt800.dll",LastError:126"

this has to do with a game drive program that was installed and not uninstalled gracefully. i see this program being referenced - Farstone.

follow these instructions from another forum:

"First download regseeker from http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

This is a great registry utility, it will find all references to the product code in one search.

Insert the original Game Drive Disk into the CD Rom, go to my computer and right click on the cd rom, select Explore from the drop down menu.

Double click on the Install Folder.
Double Click on the GD Folder.
Double click on the Setup Configuration File.
Find the product code: Either copy "CTRL C" the product code or write it down.
Open the Regseeker program and select "Find in registry", and either paste "Ctrl V" or type the product code into the search field, select search, it will find all references to the product code. Delete all references to this Product Code,I found 5 references. Reboot your machine.

I removed Comodo 3.5 Firewall and completed removal by rebooting the P.C.
I then checked the event logs to confirm all was well.
I found in the Application Event log that about 1 minute after that latest reboot and login there were 4 errors.

All 4 errors were
Event Type: Error
Event Source: WinMgmt
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4
"Failed to load MOF" {specific file} "while recovering repository file."

The specific files were
C:\AC30D119A40F2C8C8708A20576\I386\LICWMI.MOF
C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V1.1.4322\ASPNET.MOF
C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V2.0.50727\ASPNET.MOF
C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V3.0\WINDOWS COMMUNICATION FOUNDATION\SERVICEMODEL.MOF

Incidentally both the ASPNET.MOF files had a last access date from last year,
so I seems to me that the "Failed to load MOF" was because the was no attempt to read them.
Also .NET v3.0 was purged last year, so the fourth item no longer exists ! ! !

I never knew till then that there had ever been any need to "recover repository files".
There were no further errors when I rebooted 4 times in succession,
so I assumed it was a "one time" failure to recover, and upon the second reboot a full recovery was achieved.
Did I do Good ? ? ?

I then installed Comodo 3.10 Firewall, and the next application event was

Hi

When I right click My Computer on Vista Start menu the page says "The page failed to load"

I enclose a screenshot of the error.

I was also get "the application has failed to start because WINBRAND.dll was not found" when running

From RUN

This has now been fixed by downloading WINBRAND.dll and copying it to c:\windows\system32

But "The page failed to load" still happens when right clicking My Computer and choosing properties.

I did a SFC / Scannow and something weird happened. The Command Window had an error (apologies - forgot to note which but will rerun in a moment) however the CBS Log File showed no errors and indicated SFC ran successfully.

I will post the results of SFC in a few moments

I've never heard of a "gray screen of death" either, but that's certainly what it looked like!

I'm working on a clean install of 64-bit Windows 7 Pro SP1U, and I'm mostly finished installing my apps. The major problem symptom is that my Intel PROSet Ethernet Connection (2) 1218-V can't load it's drivers.

Here's the sequence of events...

(1) Finished installing Nero 2014 Ultimate updates, which required a reboot. NO hardware changes made.

(2) During that reboot, I see what would normally be a BSOD except the screen is definitely NOT blue! It looks more gray than anything (and my monitor is fine). The "GSOD" message is a new one on me as well, something like "SYSTEM_REGISTRATION_ERROR" or the like.

(3) When I boot up, even though I definitely have set it up to create a mini-dump on BSOD, there IS no mini-dump or even a full dump. I assure you it was simply not created!

(4) Now, all of a sudden, my 'Intel Ethernet Connection (2) 1218-V', the device manager reports: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)" Note that I've read that Code 31 errors are supposedly "easy" to fix, but I've tried the things these tech support pages suggest (such as uninstalling the drivers and re-installing the latest version, or rolling back the drivers, etc), but that has had NO effect!

One of the things I can't help thinking about is that the following Int... Read more

If me, I would uninstall Nero, reboot, then run system restore to before the Nero installation and hope (fingers crossed) that works. If not, you may need to uninstall the affected drivers, then reboot and again, hope that works.

You may be seeing gray due to your contrast and brightness setting - but really experiencing the black screen of death.

I bought LFD2 from steam and downloaded it; it seems to install fine, when i click the launch button from within steam i get the error "Unable to load unicode.dll", I've verified the download, redownloaded/installed i've checked my laungauge settings and talked to steam support but so far they've been unable to help. Does anyone have any other ideas? All my drivers are up to date, windows as well. All my other games in steam work.

Is there any way to load the "Screen Saver Settings" dialog/ control panel at boot-up/ login in a similar fashion to applications?

If not, then would I need to write a software program of some type via OS-specific commands (I presume) for opening this dialog to be executed at boot-up/ login e.g., VB, C, or C++?

Thanks for your replies! :-)

Hey Everyone,

First post, Tech savviness somewhere around "competent enough to get into trouble but recognize it and stop."

I'm having an issue that I believe is being caused by my router/modem combo. TWC just sent us an "upgrade" and now on my macbook air the WiFi does not connect to random websites. So far apple.com, google.com, yahoo.com, bing.com are consistently not connecting but duckduckgo.com works fine, espn.com works fine, homedepot.com works... etc. I can't see a pattern.

Things that maybe relevant.
1. This only occurs on my macbook. My windows 8 desktop (physically connected), my wife's Dell Windows 7 laptop (wifi), Her iphone, my droid All work fine.

2. This only happens on my wifi network. At school or any other wifi

3. I'm in law school and there is a piece of software called Exam4 that we have to use for final exams. It completely restricts computer/internet access while its running. My computer crashed while running the newest version of the software just about the same time this started.

4. Router is made by Arris, model DG1670, 2.4/5 GHz, I can provide any other info you need for it.

5. Running Yosemite 10.10.3.

6. It makes no difference which browser is used, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari all have the same problem (i've attached 2 screen grabs).

7. It doesn't seem to be limited to google.com but anything in the domain. i.e. imap.google.com out as well.

Help please.

Answer:WiFi Router "Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data."

Have you tried resetting your location?
If that doesn't work, you can drag/delete the system configuration folder to the trash can, then
restart and let the Mac create a new "SystemConfiguration" folder which sets everything back to default
settings & preferences. Just note to keep the old sysconfig folder in the trash, if the above doesn't solve
the problem than you can simply restore the old config folder.

Might also try the same sites in safe mode to see if the problem persist.

I hope somebody can help me with this vexing problem.

Last week I downloaded a Trojan dialler which got sorted out by the "Hijackhis crew". Unfortunately, I followed their recommendations a bit too fanatically by downloading a new "Hosts" file.

Which is now preventing me from seeing MOST banners, icons ( e.g I had to guess the "post" icon for this message) and photographs.

I want my old Host file back!!!

Could anyone tell me how?

Thanks

Michaela

Hi Everyone,

I am currently attempting to install Windows 7 on an SSD RAID Array, and I have encountered several issues (this has been a one step forward, two steps backward affair). The issue that I am currently facing is the fact that I am unable to load RAID drivers during the OS installation.

As is normal for this kind of installation I choose "Custom" and I cannot see any drives listed, this is the point at which I click on "Load Drivers" and then I select "Browse". My challenge is that regardless of how I "insert the drivers", which is to say whether I put them on a separate USB drive (FAT32 partitioned), or take the Windows 7 installation DVD out and insert a CD with drivers - I simply cannot navigate to the drivers.

Because I am unable to load the RAID drivers I simply cannot proceed with the OS installation.

As of writing this I came across a program called RT Seven Lite, which has allowed me to create a "slip streamed" Windows 7 installation - using the program I was able to integrate the troublesome drivers into the Windows 7 installation disk.

I am having trouble just viewing the "Downloads" folder in Windows Explorer It used to just be a periodic thing, now it takes literally 2-5 minutes to load this folder! (I cannot even sort it while it is loading!)

I noticed in Resource Monitor that "MsMpEng.exe" (Microsoft Security Essentials) is checking each and every file in there everytime I open it. (Hundreds of line-items in Resource Monitor.)

So something must be flagging most of these files as changed or something so that MSE is going in and re-scanning everything.

Does anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it?

Here are some [perhaps ] pertinant notes about my Downloads Folder:
It is very large, with almost 1,000 items. However, I want to keep it large as I have many apps running directly from the folder. (There are of course sub-folders for organization, but I find having a single download spot is good for catching things I may have already downloaded...)
I have it mapped from C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Downloads to D:\...\Downloads (My C: drive is an SSD so I keep this large amount of data off it.)
I made sure to add this to the Windows Index.\
The "Date Accessed" date is updated to today for about 1/3 of the files (300 or so) even though I am only really accessing no more than 3-10 per day. It does not seem to matter what type of file it is (exe, zip, etc...)
I added this to my "Favorites"; however, this happens regardless of if I access the folder via Favori... Read more

Answer:"Downloads" folder takes minutes to load in Windows Explorer

My current downloads folder has 1,000 files and in the initial access, it took about 10 seconds to display the Details list as configured/sorted. Intel i7mobile. No indexing. Subsequent closing and re-opening took about 2 seconds to display as configured/sorted. A separate folder of 50 files took 4 seconds to display in its initial access. Near-instantaneous subsequent access.

May I suggest creating subfolders to reduce the 1,000 to a more manageable 20-50? Beat your head against the wall (2-5 minutes) or an extra click or two once in a while? Which is more unbearable?

My machine was working fine. I had been on it for a couple hours just doing regular internet browsing. I tried to open a program (EverQuest 2) and it would open then immediately crash "EverQuest 2 has encountered an error". So I figured, reboot the machine. After the POST, it tells me to either launch start up repair or start normally. I chose start normally. It would go to the "starting windows" screen and the logo will not show up. it just stays there.

Powered down, and after the POST got the same options again. I picked start up repair this time. It would load the bar and show "loading windows files" or whatnot and when the bar would get completely full, it would freeze there.

My computer doesnt have a CD/DVD drive, I installed Windows 7 from USB. So I plugged the USB drive back into the computer and tried booting from that. It would go thru the "loading windows files" just fine, I can see the drive flashing as its being accessed. When the bar filled up, it would progress to "Starting Windows" screen, and stop blinking and just sit there... doing nothing. Tried using Safe Mode. Wouldn't load either.

I have not a clue what I should be looking for to even start getting it working again. The only physical change I've made to the system was plugging in another monitor to my graphic card. And even then, I've shut down and rebooted and it's been just fine.

Any help, advice, or a point in the right direction would be... Read more

My Windows start-up is pretty decent (after I log-in to my user account). What's taking too long is the "Windows Is Starting Up" screen:

It takes about 5 mins. or so before the log-in screen shows up. Anyway, here's what happened prior to this event:

My Windows XP OS has just been repaired due to a stop error. One of my RAM cards (I have two installed previously) has also been removed because the technician deemed that it was the cause of the stop error.

Now my question is, is it the cause of the slow down? I mean having a smaller RAM? I'm thinking that it could be the cause but I'm having second thoughts because I only had 1 RAM card installed way back but the stalling of the "Windows is starting up" screen never happened. I've had a slow running PC, yes, but I never had to wait that long for the "log-in" screen to show up (10 seconds tops). I only have 6.46 GB free space now which is small but I've had a smaller free space (2 GB) before but then again, the stalling I mentioned has never happened until now.

Any solution to this problem?

Last night, I attempted to install a linux distro alongside 7, the installation failed, so I gave up and just rebooted to 7.

It got stuck on the "Starting Windows" screen, so I preformed hard shutdown and when to the "Startup Repair" utility and it attempted repairs, it then said that the repairs were unsuccessful, so I restarted and windows loaded to the desktop. Success! or so I thought...

After a while, I shut my laptop down and went to bed (as you do). When I needed to use it this morning, it wouldn't load past the "Starting Windows" screen again, so I shut it down and restarted and it went the desktop.

Hi,

Can you access the Advanced boot options?

Advanced Boot Options
Choose Last known Good Configuration

 Tip
Use the up-arrow and down-arrow keys to move the menu’s highlight to Last Known Good Configuration (Advanced), and then press Enter as the mouse won’t work at this screen.

Your computer should load successfully, and Windows 7 will discard the bad configuration and return permanently to the last known good configuration.

Alternatively:

Are you able to restore back to a point to before you tried to install linux distro?

I have recently been having this problem with my Compaq Presario Cq56 laptop. It used to be working fine for years and this problem suddenly came up a few weeks ago.

Whenever I turn on my computer it would seem to load but then when it frayed the starting windows screen nothing else happens. The screen remains black with just those words. An indication that windows would load was I the animation of the orbs coming together to make the windows logo appeared.

I have tried loading in safe mode but it would always hang on Class.pyp or ssomething like that. I tried system restore but it would only show the green loading bar and then the screen would black and nothing happens.

It seems the only way to have a chance of my computer booting is to do Primary Hard disk tests from the bios or System self diagnosis scans then try to load system restore while the windows 7 disk is in the drive but it's annoying to have to wait up to an hour or more to see if my computer might work.

I have tried some disk scans from the command prompt as well as a sfc scanthat seed to have fixed the problem but then it would happen again. I have also tried reformatting and reinstalling windows and that would work for a while but then it's back to square one. Of some one could helpe with this it would be very much appreciated.

I'll be referring to the image above. The second image that has to do with Outlook Express directly was caused directly after merging some partitions and then changing drive letters. I was using Partition Magic so Drive Mapper supposedly changed all references in the registry. I checked with Microsoft's solution to the problem, but it was of no help (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/191946). I would like to just completely remove Outlook Express if I could. As I was following the instructions, I deleted the registry keys I was supposed to which I think led to the first error message you see. I'm not completely sure though, it could have also been because I applied the Windows Vista Transformation Pack.

Answer:"Address Book failed to load" + Invalid root

*bump* Also, I should say that before the Outlook message used to pop up constantly (every 20 seconds or so) and I've gotten it to only pop up at startup by removing those registry entries.

Let's take for example this Comedy Central, Colbert Report page : http://www.cc.com/shows/the-colbert-report/video-guideTHEN click on ALL VIDEOS and SEASON 3.You might notice that this page has 874 videos on it, and the first one is basically the last in chronological order, so i want to start by the last one to catch up normally... BUT only 14 links are displayed first, and i have to click on the LOAD MORE button to make 14 more appear... SO technically, each time i will want to log in on this page, i will have to click around 62 times on the LOAD MORE button to go back to where i'm at... So my question is : is there a way to make this page display all the links automatically without using the LOAD MORE button?By the way i used to use the episode section which displayed 160 links instead of 874, but for some reason it has been down for a few days displaying a copyright related message so basically my only option to watch old colbert report episodes is this one, unless someone knows a better easier way.Thank you

Hey all,

I recently re-installed Windows XP Home edition. I found that i needed to install Service Pack 3, so i downloaded that and installed it. It seemed to be working okay.

THEN i installed the Gigabyte CD that came with my computer years ago, which supposedly has a lot of drivers on it that i might need.

Now:

*Every time it starts up, it pops up the message "Could not load PROSetGUIMgrResource DLL",
*Every time i go into Control Panel, and click on anything there, it pops up the message "Intel(R) PROSet: Resources are not available",

Can anybody offer any help?

Hi all,

BSOD once tonight. It happened one other time last week but everything on Windows still functioned normally after I restarted. Then it happened again tonight. I restarted and when the start-up 'dos' -like screen comes up, I also had a glimpse of a message in red type that mentioned something about a 'degraded drive' and something about 'completeness...'. Then the screen flipped and asked me to go in safe mode etc. But I chose to start normally and Windows started fine.

Hope someone can help me out. I'm not that fluent in computer technology/software these days. Thanks for this forum!

Info:

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (probably a driver).
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have raid update its Driver.

Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

I need some technical help and am not sure where to pose this, as it's a problem that the program's developer has never seen before and his suggestions didn't solve.
Album Player is a very good sounding small audio player that's been around for a few years: Audio player Album Player 2.105. It simply unzips to wherever the user wants; i.e. it doesn't use the installer. After running it successfully for months, for the past three days it's been returning an error box on starting the program with the message, "Could not load the decoder." But the thing is the decoder file, ap2decoder.exe, shows as a running process in Windows Task Mgr (Win 8.1 x64 Pro). The developer says the decoder program hasn't changed in five versions (since 2.101, now 2.105).
Here's what I've tried without success:
- deleted and reinstalled the x64 and x32 versions a few times (with reboots)
- excluded the player from Comodo anti-virus and firewall (there were no warnings)
- changed folders where it's located
- run as administrator
- run Yamicsoft Windows 8 Mgr repair module
The only other new thing I can think of during these past couple of days is that there have been two computer startups among many where the system SSD wasn't recognized by the BIOS. The first time I checked BIOS settings and all looked normal, and then coming out of it the computer started right up. The second time I ignored it and it just rebooted normally. I also unplugged/replugged the SSD on both ends just to be su... Read more

Hi,

I'm a newbie here - after finding techsupportguy by googling for support forums for my particular problem. I hope someone in this community might have some ideas for me...

So after having a stable and successful dual-boot with XP and Vista Ultimate 32Bit for several months now, I got over-confident.

After a long night getting the kids to sleep, etc etc, I had the bright wee hours of the morning idea that I could quickly increase my Vista partition size as it was getting a little light (it shares an internal HDD with another drive letter) and promptly stuffed my Vista boot.

Setup = C:\ XP Boot (original OPSYS). V:\ Vista Partition (shared on same drive as D:\)

What I did...

* Booted into XP, loaded Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.
* Resized D:\ (shrunk by 25GB) and Resized v:\ (increased by 25GB).
* Applied actions.
* Had a PC lock-up in XP some time later, reset PC.
* Boot error - no Windows Vista found (load original disc).
* Loaded Vista disc and used "r" option. Located vista partition, repaired.
* Vista Booted (had rundll.exe error or something similar) and died.
* Re-booted, hit F8 and selected "last known good config." Vista ran lengthy disc check. (Noticed Vista volume was now H:\ not V:\ ???)
* Re-Booted- Vista loaded to login. Keyed password, and "preparing desktop" appeared.
* My desktop and startup programs fail to boot and I get stuck in a plain blue empty screen with cursor only. CTR-ALT-DEL accesses Task Manager or lo... Read more

Adobe Photoshop Element 5.0 in the "Organizer" mode. When ask to get Image from Scanner the software writes "loading" on the window and basically stop (or freezes). I've tried searching for a solution, but most of the procedure on the internet is for windows XP, and I'm not sure if it works the same for windows 2000.

First off, I'm not sure this is the correct forum, secondly I know it's not strictly a W7 problem, but, I'm now so desperate I'll try anything.

In Firefox the home page is set to Google search by default. When I type in a search it works as expected. If however I try to modify the search in the same window a popup comes up saying "Application/json" is ready to dowload a file, where do I want to save it? In fact multiple popups open (could be upto 10)

It doesn'e matter if you choose to download or not, nothing happens. It just keeps repeating the loop.

Does anybody know what is going on and how to stop it?

I'm getting no response from either Google or Firfox on this issue.

I receive this error regardless of the browser I'm using but I am connected to the internet; I can connect to steam and update games for example. The issue is tied solely to the inability to load websites. Mine is the only computer on the network that is displaying the issue.

Any help resolving the problem would be appreciated.

Answer:Receive "Server Not Found" error when trying to load websites.

You should run the following two commands one at a time, type them into an elevated command prompt, hit enter after each one.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)

How do I find and fix the Disc analyzer and defragmenter function so it will help maintain my computer?

Answer:Disc analyzer and defragmenter program will not "load correctly"

Hi @Pedalann and welcome to the forum

What do you mean by "...How do I find and fix the Disc analyzer and defragmenter function...?" How can you fix something you cannot find? I'm going to assume you simply cannot find the program.

If you type the search term 'defra' in to your search box on the task bar and hit the 'Enter' button on your keyboard then you are there! Alternatively you can just click on the top entry with your mouse.

Hi great guys at SevenForums. its me again...and this damn ASUS. anyway, I have attempted to install windows 7 via usb to my system(system specs under profile), but i receive a prompt about device drivers and i cannot continue. The image is an original .iso for windows 7 home premium, downloaded from digital river using a direct download. the usb is a 4Gb transcend. note: (windows device manager says the drivers for both usb and hdd are most current, and devices are working properly.) oh, My hdd is a Seagate 5400.6 320Gb internal laptop drive. i burned .iso to usb using UUI. I do not have any dvd's to use, i had 1, but i wasted tryind to burn winRE to disk. hdd has been formatted by windows to accept install but it will not. PLEASE HELP GUYS! You guys helped me with bad memory modules on sevenforums before, i hope that there is a guru for this issue too...all the thanks, Fedaru.

I read on another post about removing disk drive before install but this asus notebook is like fort knox! i would have to remove a cover like 10 screws, and that may void warranty.

Answer:"load device drivers" prompt while installing windows 7 via usb

Hi Fedaru,

I have seen this message before if the USB drive you are installing from, is inserted into a USB3 port. This happens because USB3 ports require 3rd party drivers, and the drivers only make the port fully available after Windows 7 has loaded.

Can you check to see that it is inserted into a USB2 port? If so, try inserting into a different USB2 port, and trying the installation again.

Golden

Hi Guy
I'm using win 98 and cannot get my Viavoice working.
I keep getting "FAILED TO LOAD LOCAL LANGUAGE MODULE".
This has been an ongoing problem for some time, and was part of a software package from "Time". I've also installed IBM software as a separate voice programme but can't get this to run satifactorily. Time Help is no help, perhaps you can help? Much appreciated in anticipation. Many thanks.

Dicksee

PS Have spent loads of money with "Time"without satisfaction.

Answer:Viavoice "FAILED TO LOAD LOCAL LANGUAGE MODULE"

Dicksee
Welcome to TSG!

Not sure if I can help but will try......
It sounds as if you have an incomplete or corrupt installation.
When this happens to any software program the best solution is to uninstall and reinstall the package.
1) Go to start\settings\control panel\add-remove programs and locate the via-voice line listing. Highlight it by left clicking and select remove.
2) If there are other entries referring to voice software remove them to.
3) Restart system into safe mode. During restart keep tapping the F8 key until a selection screen appears and arrow to select "Safe Mode" then hit enter.
4) Once in safe mode go to start\find-search\files and folders and type in *.cpl then hit enter
5) A listing of all control panel applets will appear in right pane.
6) Locate SETNOTE.CPL
7) Right click that applet and select delete.
8) Restart system into normal mode and reinstall the via-voice package.
Note: Make sure you anti-virus software is disabled before and during install.

Hope that helps.....

Dave

I know that when folder is optimized to be 'Pictures' (in the Properties>Customize tab) it loads slowly. For example the Download folder would low very slowly if it's not set to be "General items"

But why exactly does that happen? Or that's more of a code thing/bug and only Microsoft software people can answer that?

Answer:What causes folders to load slowly when folder type is "Pictures"?

A lot depends if you have thumb nails set if you do it must load all the files to get image if it's set to details it only needs file names etc

So here is the problem. It all started one day when my free trial of Norton was running out. i uninstalled it and installed AVG free edition 2011. My internet worked fine for about 45 minutes afterwords and then i shut off my laptop. When i powered back on and tried getting online (using firefox 3.6) my home page (facebook) would load partially then stick at the loading phase. When i tried to go to new sites it would remain at the loading stage on facebook. This problem still occurs.

Solutions i have tried:
Running Norton Removal Tool - No fix
CMD prompt using Netsh something another to reset some things - No Fix
I cleared cookies and my cache - No Fix
i used malwarebytes, AVG, and Ad-Aware to search for virus ect. - No viruses and no fix
I tried using IE8- no fix same problem
I tested my network connection using ping command - ping would detect the IP of the site i tried but all requests timed out with 100% fail
I used ping command to test 127.0.0.1 - all requests passed and 0% loss
I used tracert- same effect as the ping requests time out.
I have turned windows firewall off, reset, and tried the browser - No Fix
Additional information:
*I have 2 laptops and the one i am on now works fine. So i know it is my computer Specifically.
*Downloads and program updates run as normal. only web page loading is affected
*I have no additional firewalls on my laptop

After being online for awhile, the screen pops up that it can not load the page or find the internet. I can PING a site but not open a page on the internet. At the bootom it says something about "c:winnt/system32/shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm". Even after unpluging the NIC and closing the internet windows it still will not find the internet. I have to reboot for it to open a site. It does this evertime I am online for awhile.

Also the the memory is getting hogged up by "CCPROXY.EXE" and "IEXPLORERE.EXE" Sometimes they both will use up all the memory and nothing will run, it just locks up everything. Aand then will not load the page or site.

I recently installed a new USB wireless NIC. But the problem was there before I install the new card. The computer has all its updates.
I run windows 2000 and have Norton internet security.

this is happening in 2 machines in fact both got infected by the same usb with that virus

thanks a lot

Answer:Weird "Page Load Error" after autorun.inf virus

Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need to clean the USB drive and all PCs where it was used.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
Notes:
If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Hi

I have an ASUS K72F laptop running Windows 7, and it has always worked fine with both wired and wireless connections. I recently changed Internet provider from BT to Plusnet, though I cannot be sure that this is when the problem began.

It still works fine when wired, but when I switch the wireless on and unplug the ethernet cable, it says that there is a strong connection to the network with internet access, and I am able to find the router by putting http://192.168.1.254/ into the browser, but I cannot load any Internet pages on any browser, and cannot use any other Internet apps like Skype. The wireless works fine on another laptop and on my phone - it is just on this Asus laptop.

I have tried searching for posts of various forums - but have just ended up using command prompt to ping google (it was not successful) and running a utility called winsockfix, which made no difference. I have scanned for malware and virus - I have removed a couple, but this hasn't fixed the problem.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks

Guy

Hi! I am running windows 7 and have an administrator account and user account.. I can always log into my administrator account but my user account doesn't want to load 50% of the time. I will log in and it tells me it is preparing desktop and that I have been logged in with a temporary profile. I do not like using my administrator profile much so this is getting to be a pain. I am in school and all of my schoolwork is under my user profile, so I need it. Most of the time, a simple reboot helps.. Today I rebooted 5 times before I could get in. I'm pretty sure I'm clean of malware or viruses (at least I hope) I've had kaspersky pure 2.0 on here since I bought it. Nothing changed before this started (haven't installed or uninstalled anything new). I use ccleaner and ccleaner enhancer so not sure if it's cleaning something I need. Any help is appreciated.

Answer:"User" profile doesn't load half the time

You are logged with a temporary profile because windows is unable to read your profile folder (C:\Users\Username_Folder), this is due to corrupt data or something (application, malware) is preventing the reading of data. Try running checkdisk set to automatically fix errors and scan for and recover bad sectors.

Computer is a generic "Systemax" tower running XP Professional. When I connect the ethernet CAT5 cable, the little light on the back of the tower lights up, and, after maybe a minute, the monitor icons in the system tray indicate a connection has been established, but the status box shows no packets transfered, and the browser - IE - will not load pages I connected the same cable to my laptop, and I get data transfers. I powered the Netgear rt314 router and the dsl modem off and on, but it didn't change anything.
Any ideas regarding troubleshooting this issue?
Thanks in advance, Scott.

I have tried seemingly everything bar reinstalling Windows 10 to try to get Firefox to work again.

I've moved my profile to an external HDD, and deleted everywhere I know that Firefox is located:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox (OR)C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla FirefoxC:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Mozilla\FirefoxC:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Mozilla\updatesC:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Mozilla FirefoxPlus even the 'roaming' ones, too
AND used the Advanced scan with Revo Uninstaller to remove every other trace of Firefox - registry included.

But after [the ridiculously long process of] reinstalling firefox, the same error message still keeps appearing!
I've ran out of ideas (and running out of patience) as to why it still keeps saying this.

I don't know if it's just because my computer's so old or not, but seems to take at least something like 10 minutes to install it! And to keep on trying to uninstall it and reinstalling it all the time seems to take forever.

Any help will be much appreciated. I don't like the other webbrowsers, and for the time being I'm using a Mozilla-based on called CLIQZ - but I can't install any addons to it, as it's a "privacy browser".
*edit* sorry, didn't see the 'Browsers and Email' section there, my bad

"Windows cannot load your profile because it may be corrupted..."

Today I got this error. I was in a rush and moved my entire My Documents folder to my desktop to do some work and then shut my computer off. When I restarted it did a ChkDsk which seemed to fix the profile problem as everything is normal, but my entire My Documents folder is empty and none of the files are anywhere to be seen.

Tomorrow I plan to take it to a shop and see if they can get the data off the harddrive somehow but is there anything else I can do?

Help?

Try this recovery tool it will recover all files that have been deleted and also lets you know which are good to recover and which are not !

Went into the W7 control panel to make a 'system repair disk' (boot disk), just in case I ever needed it. Making the disk went OK, with W7 telling me it had successfully finished, and to label the CD.

I then put the boot CD into my DVD drive to make sure it worked OK. Computer boots from the CD and W7 says it has started loading files. Then the pretty blue background screen started (just like the one in the F8 repair console), and then there was a long pause and then I get the error code shown on the photo below. Clicking OK reboots the computer, and no repair options ever load.

I made two separate boot disks to rule out a bad CD, but still get the same error #

This is a brand new Dell computer, both DVD drives work fine, and burn CDs without problems.

Answer:"Sytem Repair Disk" Can't Load - Error 4001100200001012

Update:

In looking at what came with my computer, I do in fact have a "Reinstallation DVD" for W7. It boots OK into the repair console. So, the problem in making my own boot disk is a moot point for now - other then the desire to understand that error code.

Sometimes I have been having problems with Firefox loading of pages. To give some background, I take care of my computer like a champion. Everything is up-to-date, backed up regularly, run Anti-Virus, keep everything updated, but sometimes pages don't load in Firefox. And I have to keep emptying the cache, clearing the history, the temp files, sometimes reloading the page. There are also occasions where my Internet connection goes down for a matter of 30 seconds at a time and than comes back. This can happen in IE too. But I don't like to use IE because of security concerns.

Is there anything that I can do to keep or help pages load more quickly or reliably? Boot up time is very fast and slick. It's almost like in Firefox if there are multiple things to load on the page, the browser will get confused, but quickly unconfuse itself when the cache and history are cleared. System is clean, (I run Avast Anti-Virus.) My Wireless Router is about two years old. I have TWC Road Runner and those clowns don't like to do a truck roll unless you are out of service.

And to add to it, I have great Internet days when this is not a problem. Average Internet days when this just happens from time to time, and bad Internet days when it happens all the time. But this changes. If I were to get a TWC-Road Runner service call, by the time they would get here, the thing could be working again. That's what was going on about three days ago, when things got back up to normal... Read more

Hi.

I was given an HP Compaq nx9010 Laptop from work around early 2004. I only use it for typing, MS Office, Internet stuff like that.

Any way it was always running kind of slow but it's been useful and hasn't ever given me any boot up trouble.

So today I power it up, it boots in Windows XP like always. It freezes up in XP before I can do anything, I can move the mouse around but can't do much else, can't click.
So I restart it, It shows up the usual HP sign and asks me if I want to enter setup like it always does, than instead of showing the XP logo the screen goes black stays like that for 2-3 min than it says "load needed DLLs for kernal".

Please report this problam as: load needed DLLs for kernal. Please contact your support person to report this problem"

Now to make things worse the dvd-rom on this laptop stopped working about 2 years ago, so I can't insert the XP cd and repair it or boot from there, nor can I boot from USB, only floopy. Anyone know what I should/could do. I have very important files on the hard drive that I can't lose.

BTW I’m only a user on this pc because it was given to me from work they have an administrator account.

Anyone know what I should do?

Thanks upfront.

Answer:HP Laptop won't boot "load needed DLLs for kernal"

Well there is only really 2 things.

1. Get the IT people from work to take out the hard drive so that the files can be removed
2. Take the hard drive out yourself and connect it to another PC to get the files off of there.

Without access to any way to boot to the XP Setup there is not going to be a way to fix a missing kernel file. Without access to at least USB boot your pretty much outta luck.

As of the last week, have been experiencing issues with extreme slowness. Reset Firefox to defaults, did not help. PC slows/freezes, when tried to launch task manager, CTRL-ALT-DEL, get message "Failed to load security options" then screen stays black with only that message. At times never unfreezes. After a hard re-boot, goes straight to recovery mode. I have noticed that there are certain error messages such as failed updates. And also, my security defaults have been "turned off" at least once without my doing......... Yikes! I have done a recovery to previous date, and that has helped, but then it starts all over again.... Certain start up items dont load and then the freeze comes again. Start Firefox3 and go to Tools Menu >>> Option >>> (in the new window) chose Advanced >>> Network Tab >>> (in connection Table) press Setting button >>> (in the new window) chose Manual Proxy Configuration >>> type in the HTTP Proxy Field: 127.0.0.1 >>> and Port: 0 >>> click OK >>> click OK >>> restart your firefox3

If you get the paid version of Yahoo! mail you can download messages. However, I don't know if you can convert your free account to paid; in other words, this may not do any good for messages you already have.

Of course, you can forward your Yahoo! messages to a POP3 or IMAP account.

I recently came across a "corrupted" laptop (love how people call things to do with computers corrupted when they can't figure out how to fix it) to fix, it's a Dell Latitude D630 with windows xp home installed.

When i got it, booting up to windows would result in blue screen error after windows xp loading screen 100% of the time in normal mode, and would hang on mup.sys in safe mode (left it booting into safemode for about 6-7hours while i slept at mup.sys and never loaded past it). I decided to do a repair install, got through it all perfectly fine, entered the product key from the sticker on the bottom, worked fine. Booted up again, got past the xp screen to login screen and got the message "this copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can log on" can choose "Ok" or "Close" i believe, basically yes or no.. reguardless of what i click, it loads into windows to the desktop, and does not load anything else. ctrl+alt+del doesn't bring up taskmanager. in safemode everything works how it should, msconfig running processes are all normal, nothing out of the ordinary, as well as in services, closed everything except critical processes/services, made a new user as well and logged into that account, get the same activation message and loads to desktop with no icons and still no ctrl+alt+del/start menu/icons/any keyboard shortcut, however windows security center popped up on new account saying there was no anti-virus (woo... should also include that after repair install loading back into windows after 3rd reboot when it's finished it would get to the windows xp loading screen and hang there without ever loading windows, but once i shutdown and turned it back on it would load fine. (fine meaning it would get to the login screen and just not work anymore)

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:18 PM CRITICAL- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

9:07:28 PM WARNING- "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0483&PID_2016\5&249af6f9&0&2."

9:07:42 PM ERROR- "The previous system shutdown at 9:05:49 PM on ‎7/‎13/‎2011 was unexpected."

9:07:44 PM ERROR- "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000099e0000007e, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff80002a92885). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071311-32869-01."

9:07:47 PM ERROR- "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

I also get this warning quite often:
"The maximum file size for session "ReadyBoot" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\Prefetch\ReadyBoot\ReadyBoot.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 20971520 ... Read more

ok, let me start by saying I am NOT a technical person at all. I bought a Toshiba laptop recently and connected to a public wifi as I don't have home internet yet. (this is not the laptop I am using right now it is a friend's home computer).

No matter what network I am trying to connect to now, I get "limited" under the wifi screen...whether I have a security key or whether I am trying to use an open hotspot like at a fast food joint or something.

the only reason I know to post this ipconfig/all thing is from another forum question on this site. here's what I got when I did that:

Answer:windows 8 connectivity issues (internet connections are"limited" and pages won't load

it maybe a firewall issue - although you are showing media disconnected and not a limited connection ipconfig

Can you connect to a router by cable and does the PC work like that ?

Check the wireless is switched ON
theres often a physical switch or a combination of the FN and one of the F keys to toggle the wireless on/off
often F2 is used - but note , not always - look for a symbol that looks a little like (( i ))

is the wireless on?

What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, kaspersky or Mcafee or any free security suites like zonealarm, AVG , Webroot etc

Hello, I've recently been trying to download and install Windows Live Mail. That part was easy, however, upon opening the program, I receive error messages. The first one says, "Sorry, something unexpected happened and Windows Live Mail must close, your most recent changes may not be saved." Then another error box is displayed stating, "Contacts failed to load. Windows Live Mail is incorrectly configured, please re-install." I've uninstalled and reinstalled this program several times, but still not sure why I am receiving these errors. I did edit the registry, deleting the keys for all Windows Live folders insuring a complete uninstall, then reinstalled a fresh download of Windows Live Mail but STILL got the same error messages. I also tried to clear the Live Contacts Store/Cache by renaming the Live contacts folder so a new one would be replaced. Still nothing...This is getting frustrating...Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

So, I shut down my computer, and noticed it was taking abnormally long, so I push the quick-restart button on my PC. It restarts just fine, but stays on the boot screen for a bit long, and then proceeds to get "stuck" at the "Starting Windows" screen for about a minute. From there, Windows loads just fine, and I can access a majority of my usual programs (Firefox, avast!, etc.) without any errors. However, when I try to load very few programs (iTunes, Malwarebytes, etc.) they don't load at all, despite appearing in the Processes section of the Task Manager. Also, when I try to unpin a program from the taskbar, the program's icon remains but I can no longer "unpin" it from the taskbar.

These are all of the errors I've experienced, and here's what I've tried thus far:

System Restoring. Tried it twice, to before I installed a Windows Update and before I installed a graphics driver update. Neither changed anything.
Disabling all non-Microsoft startup services.
System File Checker (no errors found).
avast! full scan (no threats found).
Windows Repair thing (at startup) - didn't get past the loading bar
Any help whatsoever would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Troy

Answer:Stuck at "Starting Windows" for too long, and unable to load random programs

You should never use the reset/restart button on your case unless you need to. Otherwise this happens...

xp pro freezes at the windows loading screen......on start up the raid disks says verify. i dont know how to verify them without windows. my question is, when it is trying to load windows, the hdd lights stay lit, and if i put my ear close i can hear them working. is it trying to do anything? or am i just wasting my time? ive waited 15mins so far, still doing it. ive tried safe mode but that freezes too. ive had this verify issue before, and was able to enter windows though. it took about 4hrs to verify. i was just wondering if i could let it sit overnight, or would that cause damage by having the hdds spin if its not actually doing anything usefull? i dont know much but the times before my pc would freeze by entering windows, the hdd light would go blank, giving the hint something bad happened and a reformat was needed.

Hello,

I have Windows XP 64-Bit. I keep getting the error "Load needed DLLs for kernel" when attempting to start up. I'm able to fix the problem with a repair installation of Windows, but after restarting Windows a few times, the error returns and I'm unable to startup Windows until I perform another repair installation.

Any ideas? I'm considering reformatting, but I'd ideally like to find another solution if possible.

Thanks,
Jamie

I have Windows XP 64-Bit. I keep getting the error "Load needed DLLs for kernel" when attempting to start up. I'm able to fix the problem with a repair installation of Windows, but after restarting Windows a few times, the error returns and I'm unable to startup Windows until I perform another repair installation.

Things I have tried:
-ran ChkDsk (no errors found)
-ran SFC /scannow to replace any missing files using the Windows CD, did not prevent error from happening again

Have not tried reformatting, would like to avoid that if possible.

Thanks in advance!
