Preferred Solution: Is my PC good for gaming and recording for youtube at the same time?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Is my PC good for gaming and recording for youtube at the same time?

Do you have any connectivity issues or slow load times? Also, what is the make and model of your power supply?

Otherwise you should be fine.

My first time building! some things have not yet been picked, so I want your opinion on the things I have in mind, and the ones I can't decide over...

Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
Processor: AMD FX-8350
Graphics card: Sapphire r9 280
RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 2x 4GB
power supply: Corsair CX750
Optical Drive: lg bh16ns40 multi blue

Do I seriously need an sdd drive?
also any cases that might suit my build or anything I might not need or DO need?
thanks- M

Answer:Good specs for gaming PC? First time

Did you already purchase the items above or is that what you have in mind for purchasing? What is your overall budget for your Gaming PC? What types of games are you going to be playing on this PC? The AMD FX-8350 is a good CPU, but if you want any kind of future proofing, I would suggest getting an Intel. If you let us know how much you can spend, we can help you build one that will be better for future games.
Also, no you do not need a SSD (Solid State Drive), but it will make boot times and load times faster. My suggestion with that, is purchase a smaller SSD (120GB maybe) for your operating system and also purchase a larger (1TB+) Hard Drive for everything else (applications, storage, etc).

Windows Home Premium SP1 with Media Center... How can I change the end time (eg. increase it by 15 mins) of a TV programme I am already recording?!

I started recording a programme from the Guide - it had already started - I was in a bit of a hurry. But the programme is running late (the time in the Guide is wrong!) - how can I extend the recording time? I can not find this (basic) option anywhere?!

I can extend the recording time (by X mins) for a programme I have scheduled to record at some time in the future (under "Record Settings"), but not for the TV show I am currently recording?!

(The TV show goes on for another hour or so and I want to go to bed...)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Answer:Recording TV - Change end time once recording has started?

Have you tried going to Recorded TV, selecting the show that you're currently recording and adjusting the recording options from there?

I've had a lot of trouble recording audio from Youtube but have achieved it after installing a new sound card and Audacity. However, some of the recordings are badly distorted and it's not a level problem. In fact I can record the same Youtube clip 3 or 4 times changing nothing and then suddenly it's a perfect recording. I was wondering if some Youtube clips are copy protected although why it works sometimes and other times it distorts I don't know.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions please?

I used mymp3 to record some music off youtube and converted them to mp3 files. The sound quality is quite good and plays fine on the pc. But when I used nero to burn them on to a cdr, some tracks go blank/mute about half way through the song, but a few play fine all the way through. I use the "what you hear" option to record. What could be the problem?

Answer:Recording music off youtube

I do the same using Audacity click here and never have any problems, you could give it a try. Only other thing I can think of is a problem while burning, try CDBurnerXP (works with Vista as well). click here

Hey everyone,
I'm in real need of a GOOD headset that will also allow me to record high quality voice recordings. I'm currently using the BlueSnowBall microphone which is really really good but when I'm either recording live games or streaming the microphone picks up my keyboard which is abit annoying.
My doing voice overs/commentaries/guides its fine but when I'm streaming it's abit annoying.
My youtube is starting to do well so the quality needs to be good. No price range maybe a min/max would be good to give me a good idea of how much etc...
Thanks all,
Al

I run a triple monitor setup on windows 8 64bit. I was originally on windows 7 but decided to give 8 a try. What i typically do is run a game like world of warcraft on one monitor and then i am using camtasia on another monitor to record streaming video. In windows 7 this worked great because i could turn off aero which would allow my games to run in windowed fullscreen mode without as much having to be rendered in the background. In windows 8 there is apparently no way to turn those features off so i am stuck losing over half my fps when i run a game in windowed fullscreen while recording on the other monitor. I have tried every codec, recording software i could find and none of them work anywhere near as good as in windows 7. Is there any way to get similar results as i did in windows 7?

Answer:Recording while gaming

The only thing I can think of to try would be to go to your Control Panel > System > Advanced Settings. Choose Performance > Settings and under Visual Effects select "Adjust for best performance" and hit Apply.

Hey, guys I just like to get your opinion on what a good gaming/rendering build would be for about $500 (I'd be willing to go to $600, but I'd rather not). I'd be playing games like Crysis 3, Battlefield 3/4, Call of Duty, Metro 2033/LL, etc.. I'd prefer to run ultra graphics on all of these at about 60fps w/o fraps.
Things I don't need: monitor, os, mouse, keyboard, case
My idea of a decent build for this would be a 970 mobo, 8gb ddr3 1600 ram, fx-6300/ 6100/ 6300 (which would be better), radeon 78502gb , 500watt psu, 1tb 7200. Also what would this run with fraps. Thanks!

Answer:Gaming/rendering/recording PC

I was of the belief that Intel demolishes AMD in rendering, due to hyperthreading and general pimpness. $500 is very very low for such a build.

Question: YouTube and Gaming

Hi all
So I've been trying to make YouTube videos for some time now but I've been having issues I cant seem to solve. So I use Nvidia ShadowPlay to record and I use Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 to edit. My computer: GeForce GTX 980, Intel Core i7-67900 CPU @ 3.40GHz, and 16 gb of ram.
Now my problems. My recordings come out and every so often they are kinda studdery I guess and then after editing and rendering, the video does this weird ripple kind of thing, here's a video showing that ( ) And also I'm just wondering if after editing if there is a way to not have the video be 100+gb, or if I'll still need to use handbreak to compress them.
Thanks.

Answer:YouTube and Gaming

Stuttering is typically a capture issue and usually a result of the data not being able to be processed/written to disc fast enough.

Final size is a product of the codec used and the video settings (and length / duration). You should be able to make some adjustments in how the file is being output/saved by Vegas. Otherwise, as you noted, you could just convert with Handbrake.

I'm looking for a decent program to do desktop and/or game play recording. I've checked some of the options out, and the best (or easiest) looks like ShadowPlay, however, my graphics card is not the greatest, -
NVIDIA GeForce GT 730. I was sure the requirements said 600 series or later, but apparently mine doesn't fall under that requirement.

I've looked at some of the alternatives, like Open Broadcast Software, XSplit, Bandicam, etc. I'm curious on any opinions the community here may have, or experience with any of these programs that can be shared. I've read some bad reviews for the OBS program, but then I've read good comments as well. It makes it a bit difficult with all the conflicting points of view.

Ultimately, I'm looking to possibly upload videos to YouTube, but the format isn't a major deciding factor, as we all know the video files can be converted. So, does anyone here have a good suggestion, advice, or opinion on what I might use?

Answer:Video Recording For Desktop/gaming

I neglected to mention that I would rather not pay a subscription fee. A one time fee might be do-able depending on the retail price, but at the moment, I'm looking for something free. I realize there are trial versions for some great software, but a lot of them will put a water mark on the recording, which is not acceptable if I'm going to actually upload these videos.

Hey all,
So I'm looking for a screen recording program that can record my games (Namely Battlefield 2 for now), I'm aware of Fraps and its' competitors, Fraps works well, problem is, I want it to record my microphone in addition to the game and the game sound.
It gives me the option to record an external sound input in addition to the game sound, but I'm using a program called Mumble along with Battlefield 2. Mumble has 13 Hotkeys to talk, 9 for specific squads, one for local chat, one for squad chat, etc. I want a game recorder to record all of those.
Is there any program which allows me to record from an external input (IE: my mic) with multiple hoykeys for activiation. (Fraps and other programs allow to just constantly record the external input, but then the game has a lot of background noise (and everything echoes))
Thanks

I am way behind in the soundcard arena. Currently I only have onboard sound, mother board is ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe. Keep having problems where I can hear every little thing spinning up. It picks up fans, HD noise, etc and its driving me NUTS. I need suggestions for a good all around soundcard for gaming and occasional recording(guitar + cabinet). Nothing way over the top. You guys just get the latest creative card and roll with it?

Answer:Suggestions for soundcard recording and gaming

Well..... my school uses Creative Audigy 4 Pro with the breakout box for recording and the like, the inputs are 24bit 96kHz, as are the outputs. The DAC/ADC's arn't the best, but they are fine for casual recording. They're not bad for gaming either, with 5.1 to 7.1 surround if you want it.

24-bit/96kHz is great for recording and editing. It means you have less dithering loss during processing, so your final 16-bit output is much cleaner with less rounding errors.

The Audigy also supports soundfonts, which are GREAT for sampling and stuff like that, particularly if you have a midi capapble keyboard.

A very good choice for a not-too-serious setup, I'd say, good quality and flexibility makes it ideal for a home setup.

Personally, I'd get 2 sound cards for recording and gaming, a M-Audio Delta 44 (or 66 even) for recording with breakout box (4 balanced inputs) and an Audigy 4 non pro for gaming, but if you're not into doing big recording thats probably ott. The only reason I'd want 4 bal ins is because thats what I get off the subgroups on my mixer. If you're recording one or two tracks at a time (mono, stereo) the Audigy Pro 4 would be fine.

Hi, I'm asking for help here because a friend of mine is asking for my help, but I don't have enough knowledge on this subject to do so. So... anyways, here goes:

I'm helping someone build a computer. His current computer has a P4 processor, 1gig of memory, and an All-In-Wonder ATI videocard. Not the greatest computer, of course, but at the time it did the job. He has bought this particular videocard not only to be able to play most video games on the market (at the time he got it), but also because of its ability to show tv channels, and to record "VHS-to-DVD" videos on the computer - features that he still wants to get with its new computer. He also often uses the videocard's computer-to-tv cable connection to play DVDs from his computer and to watch them on his [non-HD]TV. The thing is, his All-In-Wonder ATI videocard had several physical and driver-related problems in the past, and he had so many problems getting decent help from the ATI technical center (actually, the "help" he got from them made the problem even worse) that he now wants to go with Nvidia videocards, since their technical support is way better.

My question is: Knowing that he does want to play with most recent videogames (such as Half-Life 2 Ep.2 or Oblivion) at pretty decent speed, is there a Nvidia alternative to ATI's All-In-Wonder card that would be good for both tv watching AND for gaming? If not, is there a certain piece of hardware out there that woul... Read more

Now in windows 8 when i do the same my fps is instantly cut in half in the game. I have been trying to search on forums and looking for a solution for my problem. I have read it might be a RAM problem from other posts, so i just checked my RAMs with Memtest86. It is said that my RAMs passed the tests. But i should mention, i did the test while both RAMs (4x2) were plugged in.

However, i still have the problem. In 15-20 minutes of recording or playing(FIFA16), pc freezes first, then BSOD comes out.

Hi guys,

I sold my desktop a few days ago,and was looking for a laptop to go with mainly for gaming and and recording music.

I was looking at the Z580 Lenovo laptop http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834310630

It's pretty much sold me at this point, but maybe some of you know of a better deal with more performance in that same price range of 575$... I might do 700$ but it will have to dust the Z580 for me to pay out 125 $ more.

So will the Z580 i5 GT635m be my bang for my buck,or do you guys know of a better deal ?.

Also let's say later on I wanted to upgrade the GPU,and the HDD could I do that ?. Could I upgrade to a SSD ?. etc.

Thank you all are always a huge help !.

i want to record sound through a mic, i would normally use sound recorder, but i want it to go longer then that (approx. 5-10 minutes). freeware would be best, but other suggestions are cool too. THANKS!

Answer:a good recording software?

Well, for the cheaper area, I've been using Goldwave, but, recently I've gotten my hands on Sonic Foundry -- er, Sony Sound Forge... Goldwave has a huge number of features for such a cheap software, but Sound Forge provides just a few more advanced things like playing around with pitch while preserving time (ok, not perfect, it usually sounds like crap, but neat and when done right can be useful-ish.)

Oh, and you might look on Sourceforge.net and other places to see if you can find any free ones. Probably free stuff would do for you.

I've been using Webroot Anti-virus with Spy Sweeper but am looking to change as viruses have recently crippled my computer.

I am interested in using Avast and malwarebytes. Can they both be used for real time protection or would they conflict with each other (and/or take up too much resources)? I am looking at getting the paid version of malwearebytes for real time protection.

Would running only one of these programs as real time protection sufficiently protect my computer from virusues, malware and spyware or would using only one leave me vulnerable?

Thanks for any insight here.

The Protection Module is not intrusive as it utilizes few system resources and should not conflict with other scanners or anti-virus programs. Keep in mind that Malwarebytes does not act as a real-time protection scanner for every file like an anti-virus program so it is intended to be a supplement, not a substitute. Those who purchase the full version receive a license key via email which includes a lifetime of free upgrades and support. For corporate and business customers, annual licenses are required. Also:Choosing a security toolkit with anti-virus, firewall and anti-malware programs is a matter of personal preference, your technical ability and experience, features offered, the amount of resources utilized, how it may affect system performance and what will work best for your system. I need a program that can capture my desktop with video AND sound (not microphone, but the sounds playing from the computer). I tried CamStudio but that doesn't work, apparently WaveoutGetSelectControl() failed

Any suggestions?

I'd like to do two things: recording both the mic and speaker as well as the screen, or just the mic and speaker without the screen.

Answer:What is a good software for recording the screen

I use camstudio, it's basically like a free version of Camstudio.

I make my videos with camstudio, and then run them through handbrake (also free), to compress down their size.

Are you looking for something to record your screen? Not sure if it records sound, but ScreenToaster - Free online screen recorder: create screencasts, tutorials and reviews in a few clicks

Edit: Appears they do record sound: from their FAQ

How do I record audio ?

To record your voice, select the proper audio device in the list before starting recording.
To record additional music and sounds, enable "stereo mix" (also called "what you hear" on your computer).

Hey, my brother recently complained about how his computer records his guitar, and described it as sounding choppy. He blamed in on his onboard sound, and I was just wondering if that might be the problem.

Would a nice Creative Sound PCI card or something record with more quality?

Answer:Sound Card good for Recording

If he's not a gamer, there are other brands of sound cards that work very well or better than Creative's for recording audio, I just can't remember any of them right now The downside is not having anything higher than EAX1.0, but like I said before, if he's not a gamer he probably won't care.

I have to do a lots of professional voice-recording. I am looking for good microphone with impressive recording. Motherboard support like 5:1 channel or 3:1 channel is also a issue when selecting a microphone or doen't matter. In my system MSI KT4 Ulta motherboard is installed.

I read the reviews of Altec Lansing 502, 602 but doubt they are good for voice recording or not. Please reply ASAP.

Please only mention those companies that available in India.

Answer:Good microphone for voice recording

If you have a mic boost function in the advanced properties of your mixer, you don't need to use a PC mic. I'd recommend going to a music store and looking for a Shure SM58 or SM57 pro studio microphone. I use a Shure SM58 on mine. You'll have to use a plug adaptor.

The motherboard support for 5.1 only matters if you have one of those boards that can't accept a microphone or line in when useing 5.1 configuration for sound.

i have a dell xps 15 L502x. it runs great, no problems with anything except streaming videos. it happens on multiple sites, Netflix being the most dangerous, and youtube the 2nd most. my computer will randomly do a sound loop for about 5-10 seconds, then bsod, it frequently says something to the effect of: "a secondary processor interrupt was not received".
this laptop has had 2 motherboard replacements, the first for a faulty power supply on the motherboard, and the second for a faulty sound card. i haven't tried a full re-install of win7 because its a nightmare. id like to avoid that at all costs.

Hi i have been experiencing BSODs on my computer. They seem to happen somewhat randomly but twitch.tv almost always causes bsod. My computer is a custom build by my friend. Is it possible that there is bad connection somewhere which is causing these BSODs? How do i find it?

Im not expert with computers please help.

Answer:BSODs @ various situations (Youtube, gaming, twitch)

Hello and welcome Naktos well you have sort of half answered yourself mate the twitch.tv I have no idea without go look for it as to what it s but seems to me it is a suspect in your situation.

I am not real sure of the dump files either it will take someone who knows more than I to check those out.

I suppose you could start off running these in safe mode if necessary if only to eliminate the bleeding obvious

My friend asked my a tough question today that I couldn't answer, so i thought that i could come here and ask.

this question is generally for the Canadians out there. With the Canadian dollar dropping down fast (and the prices going up), when should my friend buy his graphics card from a store? Should he wait until the economic slump is over, or should he buy the card now before it goes higher?

the price for the card he wants, and palit hd 4850 ( both of us love that card, I already have it and he want it), has gone up around 40 dollars in the last 2 months, without tax ( tax here in Quebec is really high as well, 12.5%), from 195$ to 235$ ( I feel really sorry for him, he was planning to buy it at 195$ at the store because he had the money, but he couldn't that day because he had family problems to deal with, the next day he came back and the price was up by 15 dollars).

So... Should he wait? he doesn't want to get swindled out of cash, but he also really wants to play new games like crysis on his own computer ( he is running on an integrated card right now, hehe)

Answer:Good time to buy a good graphics card?

I would wait untill our dollar starts getting higher again.

Hello,
I am looking into buying a new laptop to use for recording while playing bullet hell shooters (shmups) like Touhou, Mushihimesama, Dodonpachi etc. I wish to record at 1080p 60 fps, and was wondering if the MSI GE72 is good enough? I was also planning to record to an external USB 3.0 HDD since I've read its better to not record to the same drive as the one playing the game. I have never recorded my gameplay before, so I'm new to all this.

These are the specs of the MSI I'm thinking of getting:

CPU: 6th Generation "Skylake" Intel? CoreTM i7-6700HQ Quad Core Processor, 2.6-3.5 GHz
RAM: 16GB 2133MHz DDR4,
Hard Drive: 128GB SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD

GPU is a choice from the 2 below:
GPU: nVIDIA? GeForceTM GTX 960M 128bit w/ 2GB GDDR5
GPU: nVIDIA? GeForceTM GTX 970M 192bit w/ 3GB GDDR5

Would I really need the GTX 970 instead of the GTX 960? Will that extra 1GB of VRam make a difference? Will the 128bit as opposed to the 192bit cause poorer performance? Do I really need such a powerful GPU for a shmup?

Also wondering if it would be worth getting a 256GB SSD instead of the 128GB SSD? I only plan on using the SSD as my boot, all other stuff like the games themselves, music and videos will go into the 1TB HDD. They're shmups, so they load quite fast anyway, that's why I figured I'd leave them in the HDD. Please correct me if I'm wrong or if there will be some advantage to having them on the SSD instead.

I'm going for the 17'' model mostly due to co... Read more

I need a fairly easy to use program for recording voice for a podcast. Something where you can fade audio in and out, add sound tracks for background music and bumps. Preferably something with a noise filter to clean up the audio as well.

Free, Open Source, Pay, doesn't really matter, just something that can do the job well and is user friendly.

Answer:Good Audio Program for recording a Podcast?

Audacity should be able to fill the bill rather easily, I'd say. Very popular, open source, not a huge learning curve, fairly easy to figure out, and quite capable of doing what you're hoping to do.

Just make sure you get a GOOD MICROPHONE and not some $10 cheap piece of shit. When doing a podcast, the better the mic, the better the results, and using a $10 (or less, heaven forbid) mic or headset mic isn't really going to cut it.

There are kits out nowadays that contain great quality mics, stands, even a pop filter/foam windshield, with the necessary cables (USB mics are damned nice stuff), and include software that makes creating podcasts and adding background tracks or doing mixdowns very easy.

Good luck...

This past week I've encountered a BSOD almost daily and I really don't know what to do about it. I feel bad pandering for help on the internet but I'm not really sure where else to turn as I built this computer myself.

Each time I get a blue screen, my audio cuts out for a couple seconds, the screen freezes and then turns black, and then the computer restarts and it functions normally until another one hits. I copied/pasted the past 2 error messages and they are as follows:

Hi I've been getting BSOD's for a few days now. It started off only happening when I was playing youtube videos on firefox, with messages related to various memory problems and directx or AMD driver problems. Then it seemed to start happening more and more often while I was gaming as well. I can be playing Fallout 4, GTA V etc fine for 10 or 20 minutes. Good FPS (for my setup) no freezing or artifacts, then A BSOD. Same with youtube videos. It plays fine for 10 or 20 minutes, no problems, then BSOD or at the least CTD.

Never had this problem with this computer before in the 5 plus years I've had it. The only things I've added hardware wise in the last month or so is that I changed 2 x1gb sticks of ram for 2 x2gb sticks of ram. I was starting to have the problem with Youtube videos before I swapped these sticks tho. I've run memtest86+ for almost 3 hrs and passed the full test with no errors. I also ran windows memory diagnostic with no errors. I've also let prime95 run for half an hour then the Intel burn test run it's 10 passes at standard stress rate...no problem

I also have a new logitech g100s mouse and I installed the software for it. I got this mouse almost a month ago though and the problems just started in the last 3 or 4 days. I tried uninstalling the driver and software for it tho and am just using the microsoft driver now. It actually BSOD'd in the middle of the software uninstall today tho? After I did that, then did a clean reinstall of my AMD card drive... Read more

Hello everyone! I am here in desperate need of help... I recently bought this used custom gaming computer and have no idea why I am getting all these random BSOD. I have tried researching myself and the BSODs often occured when I was on Youtube, webcamming or talking on programs like Skype and GoogleTalk, or using a drawing program called Paint Tool Sai. One time during gaming it did bug out but it was not quite a BSOD so I'm not sure what that was either.

Any help would be appreciated and I have attached the files needed and I have answered the spec questions below as best as I can.

? OS - Vista/ Windows 7 ? Windows 7
? x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
? What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7 ( I think )
? Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? full retail version
? Age of system (hardware) I am not sure
? Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? No I have not
? CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4CPUs), ~3.3GHz
? Video Card - 2x AMD HD 7790's in crossfire
? MotherBoard - ASUS p8p67 Pro
? Power Supply - brand & wattage - 1000 Watt Power Supply
? System Manufacturer
? Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom)
Laptop or Desktop? Desktop

Answer:Random BSOD win7 webcam, youtube, gaming

It sounds like it may be issue with Flash Player, but that usually causes freezing and Flash Player stopping, not BSOD's.
What specific model is the power supply, ie the Manufacturer?
What are the temps and voltages in the BIOS?

I have made a couple of animations with Flash, and I've converted it to mp4 because that's what youtube says is the preferred file type. Unfortunately, my first problem is that the conversion does not turn out very good. Does anybody know of a good conversion software so that I can get mp4 in good quality. Flash saves files in types like flv, or mov, or avi, or swf. (off the top of my head)
It also gets a bit blurrier when I upload to youtube itself. I've been on sites that suggest people use a "video encoder". I don't even know what that is, and since I'm using Flash, do I even need to do that? The second thing they suggest is to compress the videos using other software. Again, if my file is under 1 gig, theoretically that is good for youtube, but would it better for my video quality if I compress it before uploading it to Youtube?

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this, or suggestions.

Thanks

I have been using my graphics card to record myself ingame for a while now but i really want to improve the quality. My graphics card is in my sig, i use a cable which basically goes back into the card and it records itself (advantage of AVIVO)

I have been using IUvcr but im not to bright in this area and dont know the in's and out's of all the options. But the problem is when i set the capture format to a size of say 720x576 the quality is great but no matter what compressor i use while recording it makes my pc lag to hell. Although when i set a lower size, something like 432x288 the pc is fine and games run fine, but the quality kinda sucks. And i cant really get a size in bewtween those so it levels out on performance and quality.

I'm not wanting amazing quality just as long as its half decent and everything doesnt look majorly smudged (so that any text is unreadable on the recorded video) and that it doesnt lag the pc to much.

Can anyone recommend a video capture recording tool that might allow me to record at a decent quality but not murder my pc in the process? (I thought i had one with a program called Video Capturix but the trial doesnt allow you to see the recorded video so that doesnt help)

Thanks

Hi,

I don't get this, I've copied my CD collection to my PC to wav files and the quality isn't anywhere near as good as recording music to my PC through the program "Audials"? Why?

Isn't wav the best? Even listening to music through the stations on Audials is much better than listening to my wav recorded files?

Also, re-coding mp3 files to wma lossless recorded off of Audials is much better quality than my CD collection recorded to wav.

So, what am I missng here? I need a better way to record my CDs to my PC apparently.

How would I do that to match the quality of the Internet Radio stations so that I can enjoy my own CD collection as much?

Anyone,

John

PS Audials I got through Giveawayoftheday.

Answer:Copying CDs to computer not as good quality as recording through Audials?

Hi John,
took a long time to reply to this post(in my eyes)
this will open a can of worms i feel far too subjective, but here goes

1 far too many variables
2 depends on a good source
3 software and hardware(audio cards etc)
4 Your ability to process the noise (comp,hi fi ,bit rate, sample rate and your ears)

Right let's see if I can now work through these.

1 Not much I can do here(let's hope 2,3 and 4 help)

2a A good source is vital (although there are plenty of audio editors to help) it's very hard to improve on an original,so the best thing to do is make sure you have the best source.

Sorry been called away (I will continue ASAP)

Answer:good tutorials on recording macros in Microsoft Word.

OfficeArticles.com is a very powerful resource for most Office-related questions. One tutorial on creating macros in Word may be found here:

http://www.officearticles.com/word/record_a_macro_in_microsoft_word.htmMVPs.org is another handy site. They have a subdomain specific to Word, including a set of tutorials here:

http://word.mvps.org/Tutorials/index.htmHere's an example of one of their tutorials:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/UsingRecorder.htmIf you want some pre-made scripts, check out VBA Express (VBAX). It's basically a community of Office developers who make publicly available snippets.

Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge when it comes to excel. I have read through the other threads and have not found anything that matches my needs, so here it goes.

I am looking to record times for my employees in excel. They do not have set shifts so I need them to be able to "punch" in and out multiple times per day and record it. I was thinking of setting it up with the weekdays across the top with a button (macro) for each day? The button would then be a macro that would record the date and time under that column.

Thank you so much in advance.

We have four computers, all Win7, connected to our home network, with an HSHomerun TV tuner.
On only one computer, the Media Center recordings are stopped after 9 to 19 minutes.
This has only been happening for about two weeks -- before that, recording on this computer was fine.
These are scheduled recordings, either via "Guide" or by "Channel and Time" scheduling, even in the middle of the night, when none of the other computers are on, so I see no way that it could be a tuner problem, but I could be wrong.
The recording starts out fine, then just stops after a few minutes.
The scheduled time can be from half an hour to three hours -- still only a few minutes are recorded.
I removed the Media Center, via Control Panel, and added it back, with no change.
Any suggestions appreciated.

What I know the problem is not:
-Temperature (cpu at 50 and gpu at 80 under load)

-Ram (ran memtest)
-Hard drive (tried on an HDD and SSD that had no problems in the past and got BSOD on both)

Sorry if this isn't the right forum and hello, I just recently bought a new computer and it is causing me some problems.

I originally bought it to play computer games on it as I do enjoy gaming, though it continues to freeze on me whenever I do so.

When I start up a game it plays fine on max settings (Borderlands/Crysis/COD4, etc.) thought after about 1 - 2 hours later it freezes giving me the only option of a hard restart.

When I start the computer up again I put the game on and this time it freezes after about 5 - 30 minutes. This even happens when I watching videos on youtube.

My computer specs are as followed;

Make/Model: Dell XPS 630
CPU: C2Q - Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
MEMORY: 3GB
HARDDRIVE: 640GB
OPTICAL DRIVE: DVD RW
VIDEO CARD: GEFORCE 9800 GT 512MB (x2)

If anything else is required, please let me know and please could someone help. I am at my wits end.

Thanks alot.

Answer:help wanted: good tutorials on recording macros in Microsoft Word.

Welcome to the forum.

I learnt by trial and error and bookmarking many links, one of these is http://www.java2s.com/Code/VBA-Excel-Access-Word/CatalogVBA-Excel-Access-Word.htm

I started by recording macro's and then looking what was in the code.
It isn't anything more than just going through actions step-by-step.

Just a point of attention: when you start recording a macro make sure that you select the correct location for storing the macro, by default the macros are stored in word's normal.dot and for excel in Personal.xls, in this manner the macros are always available for you so if you need to send somebody that document and have a macro in it, make sure that the macro is in the document's vba project and not in your normal.dot.

Happy coding and recording.

Answer:Wanted: good tutorials on recording macros in Microsoft Word.

I've never used macros but it appears to be a very straight forward process. The simplest macro tutorial may be at http://www.dummies.com/WileyCDA/DummiesArticle/id-2209.html
Others are available at http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B2GGGL_enUS176&q=tutorial+for+macros+ms+word

Hopefully freeware.
Just a program that records keyboard and mouse actions so you can run them again in the future as a macro to save time.

Answer:Whats a good mouse/keyboard auto recording application?

This might do what you want, though I have never used it.

After the Pop Candy attack I got from the recent DVD Videosoft update, it caused me to reinstall my OS sytem. Short story, I need to find a new way to download Youtube videos and mp3 files. If anyone has any recommendations be welcome to share it with me. I can't find any Firefox add-ons either because Youtube has been blocking add-ons from downloading their content.

Answer:Anyone know any good freeware Youtube video and mp3 downloaders?

I use the Firefox addon Easy Video Downloader. It works on all videos, not just Youtube. I used it yesterday.

Hi all, I used to have a sound blaster Audigy sound card with the front panel running win xp , I could play any sound source including the internet and record that music at the same time.
Running win 7
Can anyone tell of any sound cards can do that,

Thanks Telman

Answer:Playing Music and recording at the same time

Hi Telman and welcome to sevenforums, i dont know about the sound cards but i use a software to record "what you hear"
also you can configure your settings as follows

1. Right click on the speaker icon in the bottom right.
2. Choose Recording Devices
3. In the empty white space, right-click and choose Show Disabled Devices. You should see Stereo Mix appear in the list.
4. Right click on Stereo Mix and choose Enable.
5. Right click on Stereo Mix again, and choose Set as Default Device.

Hi,

I was wondering if if it is possible to record time with three stopwatches in one excel sheet? I need to record time with two stopwatches separately in one excel sheet. I also need one (the third one) to record the overall time from the start of the first stopwatch click. I hope someone can help me. Thanks.

My question today is...

Is there software available that would enable me to hook up a video camera (via USB I would suppose) and enable me to then burn selections of that video onto a DVD all while not interupting the live recording process?

Would I need a computer with monster processing power?

Thanks,

- Dave

Answer:recording video and burning at the same time...

I would like to do the same thing except save it to the hard drive instead of the CD drive.

Even better if the program automatically uploaded the saved files to my web space.

I'm using Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator ver 6 and am unable to reload video clips back into the Workshop. It records video directly from Camcorder onto a DVD using the "real time recording", ie transfers the raw data to disk, from which it plays both on my PC and on commercial DVD player. The problem comes when I try to reload these clips back into the workshop. I am unable to find the "Load DVD VR Disc" button on the software. Can anyone help?

Hey guys, I'm not a computer smart guy, so please deal with me on this. A friend of mine recently built me a pc, basically I picked out all the parts he recommended, and he put it together. Anyway, since its been built, back around end of September, it has been getting a blue screen of death while gaming, mostly on Team Fortress 2, as well as while watching youtube vids, specifically high quality ones. The bsod will not happen if your not gaming or watching high quality vids. You can browse the internet without a problem, comp will run flawlessly, its only during games, and quality vids it will blue screen.

I've been told the bsod error "124" is a hardware error, so I've tried replacing different parts in an attempt to fix the problem. I've replaced the graphics card, I've replaced the mother board, I've replaced the memory, and I've replaced the power supply 590w+. Still I get the same bsod, nothing has worked. I've updated bios for the motherboard, as well as updated the graphics card. I've ran memtest, and memory has passed, I've also ran DFT and hard drive passed. I hear if it was a hard drive problem, it would get worse over time, it hasn't gotten worse or better, it stood the same.

Theres also something I noticed with team fortress 2 Vs. Starcraft 2. The bsod will happen a lot more frequently during Team Fortress 2, than it will during Sc2. Can't figure that one out either.

As far as my OS, I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit, if that helps any. I will als... Read more

i tried to watch any video on youtube or break.com but it lags and this is on every video, i want to watch those videos without IE(i hate IE), any suggestions

Answer:[SOLVED] i cant play videos on youtube or break.com good, need help

Hi Zombeast,

Some suggestions:
- Are you running any programs that may slow down your Internet connection such as Limewire or uTorrent? If so, close them.
- If you haven't, update to the latest version of Flash Player.
- You can also download programs to load YouTube videos faster, such as SpeedBit Video Accelerator. http://www.videoaccelerator.com/
- Download and install a program to download .flv videos off the Internet and play them back on your computer. Or you can use an add-on for Firefox to download online videos. Real Player also allows you to download videos, but I think it's only for Internet Explorer. However, THIS IS STEALING, and I am not responsible if you get in trouble. Do so at your own risk. Just thought you or anyone else reading this should know.
- Type about:config in the address bar and edit some things to make Firefox faster. Wouldn't recommend this if you don't know what your doing and make sure you remember what you changed. I did this and it made Firefox faster for me. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Firefox-Load-Pages-Faster

And the most obvious suggestion:

- Pause the video and wait for it to load.

So I have it set to record the last thirty seconds. Which is usually good enough to capture something funny that happened or an epic moment in game. However, when I hit my "record that" Shortcut, it records 99% of the time NOT the full 30s that happened. For instance while playing gears of war 4, i frequently noted that i captured only 14s. Around there. Just recently recorded some footage first using ShadowPlay pre-record, then using MSI afterburner pre-record and both recorded a full 30s video. But when i used my game DVR it recorded only 28s. almost 30s lol but not quiet. Any ideas? Am i the only one experiencing this? I DO make an effort to turn off other DVR's before using a different one so i ONLY have 1 active at a time.

I have run a cross a highly annoying feature with the Windows 8 OS that did not exist in Vista... It is impossible to monitor a line in or Mic recording with out being subjected to a significant sound delay... Being a musician this makes my work impossible... Is the issue with the OS ??? How can I get rid of this with out replacing my sound card (Current (IDT) I believe the old one was a Realtek or going to a retro OS such as XP or Vista... Windows 8 is full of annoying redundant features but this is by far has been the hardest to try and resolve....

Answer:Annoying time lag on monitoring live recording

Perhaps I should be more specific? The signal source ( i.e.line in- mic etc?) is being recorded in real time but it is impossible to hear live as it is being recorded, there are two options as far as I can tell? clickon the? listen tab? and get the annoying sound delay or click off the tab andhear nothing at all live from the recording source? Is there a fix ??? Can Iupdate the IDT drivers??? Do I dump windows 8 and go retro??? Do I invest in anew sound card ??? Wish I would havenever purchased this OS? Can?t click and rearrange files within a folder haveto rename them? Start screen and all consuming media library is a big pain inthe rear? etc?etc?lol?

Ok so here is the problem, and this has been happening for a very long time.  When i start up my computer, i can use Skype and YouTube fine for a while.  Eventually i notice that my my Skype calls/chats have stopped working.  Skype won't let me end calls, and it seems as if the program has just frozen completely.  Whenever this happens, i am also unable to use YouTube.  Whenever i try to start a YouTube video, it just freezes.  As i said before, both Skype and YouTube work fine when i startup, but always freeze soon after.  These issues ALWAYS come together!!I have tried everything from reinstalling flashplayer and skype in safe mode, to doing system restores.  All of these temporarily fix the problem, but it eventually comes back.Someone please give me some insight into this issue because if i can't skype or go on youtube on my computer, a lot of its' functionality is gone.Thank you.Ryan.

Answer:youtube/skype crashes EVERY TIME!

Have you tried uninstalling/disabling any or other protection softwares installed such as system scanner, webscanner, anti malware, spyware to rule out the problem? It could also be a hardware problem such as a RAM or PSU were as on other threads suggested an overclocking settings.

Every time I type in the address bar the address for you tube.com I get an error 404 Not Found. I already:
1- Run 2 anti virus
2-Delete Cookies and reset internet explorer to default
3-Install another browser ( still the same problem)
4-Restore to early update.

Does any one have any subjection or what else i can try to fix this issue. It seems that i can go to any web site and everything is working fine.

Answer:[SOLVED] 404 Not Found Every time i try to go to youtube.com

Make sure you are typing the address correctly. There is no space between "you" and "tube" as you have typed it in your post. It's all one word (youtube).

I have been pricing up gaming PCs for a while now, a good couple of years now but I've never actually got one because I've never really understood all the parts and what you need but also because I've been an Xbox player and all my mates played with me on my 360. Now that next gen consoles have come out, I've tried to persuade as many of my mates to buy a PC as opposed to the XONE or PS4, and I've finally got enough money (hopefully aha) to get a half decent gaming PC. My budget is around £800 and I've priced up one that I hope will do the job. I'm open to any suggestions for improvements, but please bare in mind that I'm on a budget and I'm not willing to build it myself :)

AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB Graphics Card
BitFenix Shinobi Gaming Case - White/Black
CoolerMaster GM Series G750M Bronze PSU
MSI 970A-G46 Motherboard
Standard Manufacturer Heatsink Fan
4.2GHz AMD FX-4350 4-Core CPU
1 x 1TB (1000GB) Sata III Hard Drive
8GB TeamGroup Elite Black 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
Microsoft Windows 8.1 64bit + Installation
1 x 24x DVD-RW Optical Drive

This comes out at £794.90 with 1 year warranty from Vibox. My main purpose for this PC is to play games like Dayz, Battlefield, Garry's Mod, Civ 5 and more multiplayer focused games if that makes any sense :P

Answer:First Gaming PC - Is it any good?

I think that's good. It's better specified than my son's PC (which I got from ViBox, who I can recommend) and he gets a good experience on the games he plays.

Historically a message in a bottle is a form of communication whereby a message is sealed in a container (archetypically a glass bottle, but could be any medium, so long as it floats and remains waterproof) and released into the sea or ocean. The phrase "message in a bottle" literally comes from the practice of placing an important but untargeted letter inside a (usually) glass bottle, sealing it, and allowing ocean currents to carry it away. There are indications that ancient Greek scientists used the message in a bottle to study the general flow of oceans and early militaries also used bottles to relay messages to distant troops, although this method did have a few tactical drawbacks. For more information please visit www.messagebybottle.com.
Thanks a lot.

Answer:How good the pc for gaming?

Depends on the game, and the quality, but typical pretty decent.
