No signed drivers were found on fresh install new build.

Question: No signed drivers were found on fresh install new build.

Hello, I've read a few of the other posts but haven't been able to get it to work on mine yet. I'm getting the "no signed drivers were found" error when trying to install windows 7 64 bit on my new build. I don't have an old one to format the hard drive and partition it on. So my question is can I build a partition outside of the install or inside of the install? When I switch to ACHI(AHCI) which every one it is, and I go into advanced installation it gives me the option for new partition but there are 0 MB available to do this with. I've put my comp specs into my profile. Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. When my old desktop crashed I had a working laptop so I has been years since I've had a 2nd desktop to work with.

Preferred Solution: No signed drivers were found on fresh install new build.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: No signed drivers were found on fresh install new build.

Put the Dvd in the computer when you get to the screen where it asks you where you want to install Windows . Hold down Shift and press F10 . You will then have a command prompt Window and type in these commands

Note
Press < ENTER > after every command

Type DISKPART
Type LIST DISK
Type SELECT DISK 0

Type CLEAN

Type CREATE PRIMARY PARTITION
Type SELECT PARTITION 1
Type ACTIVE
Type FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="Windows 7" QUICK

Type ASSIGN LETTER=C

Type EXIT

Type EXIT

Then back in the Where to install Windows click on Refresh and you should see

Disk 0 Partition 1: Windows 7 C:

Highlight that and click on next .

Note
If you don't want to use the entire hard drive you could type in CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=51200 that will create a 50GB partition

This is going to be difficult since I am the middle man here, but here it goes.

A few months ago I sent my friend a Windows 7 DVD for his new computer that he built, and everything went fine. Earlier this week he was building another one, using the same HDD and disk and he kept getting errors that are still unresolved. He formatted his old HDD and still didnt work, and also got a new 320 GB hdd and same problems. He cant even get Ubuntu to install. ive searched for a few hours and couldn't find a similar problem or solution. The exact error message is "No signed drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains all the correct drivers and then click ok." Sometimes he got an error 0x8030001, not quite sure what he did to get that. Anybody have any idea about what to do?

i need help...bad...I picked up a copy of windows 8.1 yesterday (hoping to upgrade it to 10 once i got it. I also already had windows 7 on the computer, so i started the setup from the desktop) it did its thing. I typed in the product key and continued through the process. Then i got to the 'where do you want windows to install?' tab and it lets me pick which hard drive to install windows on. Thats where the problem occured, I can not for the life of me figure this out. I've got a friend who know's a ton about this stuff and i was on the phone with him for at least 2 hours last night. we cant figure it out, I've downloaded the drivers on a flash drive and it wont open. I have the motherboards CD in and it doesn't help. there are no .exe files. and I have spent hours trying to get it to work and it doesn't.

Hello Peoplearenuts Welcome to the Forums
I don't want to say this but you didn't need to buy win8.1 to get 10; you can install windows 10 for free if you have 7.
But since you bought it lets work on it.

So the first thing to do is not to do a clean install; you want to upgrade the PC threw the desktop
it will automatically assign the HDD based on what your upgrading.

Please don't fell bad about this we all make mistakes; believe me I have made some big ones
Also I have had that problem too so this should help you out

So I am doing a fresh install of Win7 64bit on a machine I build a while back. It has a Rampage III Extreme with Marvell SATA III controller. I installed the drivers just fine when I build the machine. Now it won't let me install the SATA 6.0Gb/s drivers. I get the, "Please install 32bit, or signed 64bit drivers. . . " crap. I tried the drivers off the CD, from Asus's website, and Marvell. No dice. Any ideas?

Edit: FWIW I am installing off of a USB drive and there are two drives in RAID-1.

Answer:Please install 32bit, or signed 64bit drivers.

Toshiba is really the best notebook I saw! I had to change my HD because of a hardware failure (disk dead); before this I made a "recovery disk" from Toshiba system. I thought I would have just to boot from this DVD to reinstall all. BIG ERROR!

So I booted fro this DVD, process goes on (about one hour, already a great delay!), BUT a few drivers, especially the wireless one, cannot be installed! I get a message that "Drivers must be signed and so cannot be installed", and am kindly invited to get the "right drivers"!

On the website Toshiba there is no "right driver", I got those that are supposed to be for me, but always receive the same Windows message.

So what to do?!! This "recovery disk" does not even recover the correct drivers? What a great joke !!!! And of course the computer was sold without any DVD!

OS: Win 7, 64 bits "home", with legal license.

Where can I get the needed drivers, and how do i install them in the middle of the W7 installation process??
As I have no network access on the desktop, can I download the needed drivers from Dell on another pc and then install them somehow on the desktop pc that needs them.

Hi there,

As per the title:
I have the samsung NVME driver on a USB stick, the Win7 installer can see the stick and the other driver subfolders on the stick (nvme driver on root).
But, the installer finds nothing on the stick on a scan, and displays no driver on a manual search, and recognises no drivers if i simply point it at the stick an accept.

I simply get a error message from the "Load Driver" popup:
"No signed device drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."
USB drive is formatted as vFAT (32?).
Tried both EUFI and normal boot from DVD drive.

Suggestions?

ok so i recently built a pc for the first time
i got a deal i couldnt pass up on a mobo cpu and ram

so this pc can run just fine for hours
then all of a sudden it just resets itself
and when it resets itself it usually does it over and over again

then it gives an error message talking about corrupt drivers
i thought to my self hey i dont even have a driver for my vid card
i didnt even know what my vid card was (the guy i bought the mobo from gave it to me since the mobo has no onboard vid)

so i used a program aida 64 (it is the successor to everest) to identify my vid card and get the proper driver for it

and still it keeps happening to me

so then i ran the driver verifier as the eror message suggested
and that then gave me a list of three drivers

driver name: ati2mtag.sys description: ati radeon windows nt miniport driver
driver name: nvatabus.sys description: NVIDIA nForce(tm) ide performance driver
driver name: tcpip.sys description: TCP/IP protocol driver

the ati is my vid card it is an ati x600
and the nvidia thing is a chipset on the mobo
and call me stupid but i dont know what this tcp/ip thing is

i really just dont know what to do from here
please help me
the mobo is an asus p5nsli
and i am running xp pro performance edition

oh
and here is the EXACT error message that the pc gave me

After finally figuring out my POSTing problem, I began installing XP Home on my new build. Never having installed an OS before (first time builder here), I found some screenshots giving step by step advice on how to do this. Following the guide, I made my whole drive partition C. I then selected NTFS formatting (not the quick one, the long one). Quickly understanding this would take some time, I sat down to watch a movie. Checking often, I watched the progress of the format. Finally, I turned around and saw some writing on a black screen. Turns out, it was an error message:

"Windows could not start because of a computer disk harware configuration problem.

Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.

Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information."

I have checked and double checked my boot path in the BIOS, and it is CDROM 1st, then HARDDRIVE 2nd. It was obviously reading from the disk before. Has formatting the harddrive somehow interfered here? I have read from several sources NOT to press "any key to boot from CDROM" during the boot, as it will determine the CDROM pathway on its own. The CDROM spins up in any case. I have been reluctant to just push a button, but maybe I should. I have checked to make sure the connections to the CDROM have stayed tight.

Any suggestions would be welcome...

Answer:Problem with fresh XP install on new build!

Sounds like it copied the install files to the HD as it should, rebooted to continue, and then failed on the HD. More info is probably needed. Is this a SATA drive? Sata I or II? AHCI? You may need to change a jumper or install a driver, though you shouldn't have been able to format it if that was the case.

My System:

2 GB Crucial Ballistix
Asus M2N-E
Seagate 7200.10 320 GB HDD
Corsair 620W PSU
Sapphire 1950XT 256 MB
This is my first build, so I've never done a fresh install before. I'm currently reinstalling Windows MCE (OEM copy) to see if I get better luck this time. Both times during installation, it's asked me for a 'Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 CD', but one was not included in the package. The package includes 3 CDs: Windows MCE Disk 1, Windows MCE Disk 2, and a disk labeled simply "Windows XP Media Center Edition Updates for Version 2005". I tried that 3rd disk when it asks for the SP2 CD, but it didn't work. The first time I pressed cancel when it asked for that disk, and installation continued.

Everything was going ok until I tried to install my graphics card drivers. I got an "RPC Server is Unavailable" error at that point, and I could not install the drivers. I would greatly appreciate any help!

I reinstalled all of my important programs like Office Etc. I went to reboot and it?s showing no OS error
I went into BIOS and picked the hard drive the OS is installed on and keep getting the error

No idea what I am doIng wrong or how to fix this without a reinstall ugh

Answer:Help-did fresh install via USB now no OS being found?

If you boot from the Windows install USB flash drive again, go through the setup screens, select the custom install option, the next screen will list hard drives and partitions. What partitions do you see listed there? Then you can click the red X in the upper right corner to cancel the install and it won't affect anything on the hard drive.

I'm currently on build 10240 and I want to do a clean installation on the 29th when Windows 10 is officially released.

I upgraded to Windows 10 via Windows 8.1 update, so will the same key I previously used to activate 8.1 now activate a fresh installation of Windows 10? Or do I have to reinstall 8.1 Pro, then upgrade again to Win10?

Most likely -- yes. As to HOW you enter that key, we don't know at present. Win10 might prompt for a key, or it may search the drives for an installed version of Win7/8/8.1.

Hey all!

My computer finally came in yesterday, and I threw it all together. Here is the basic rundown:

1 XION Black XION II XON-103 SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 450W Power Supply
1 DFI LP UT nF4 SLI-D Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
1 SAPPHIRE 100130SR Radeon X800GTO2 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
1 AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor

1 Western Digital 160GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
1 NEC Black IDE/ATAPI DVD Burner Model ND-3550A - OEM

Basically a copy and paste from NewEgg. (Please note, no Floppy drive). Anyways, put it all together, and fire it up. Boots fine, good ole DFI Lanparty logo, yada, yada. Go to BIOS, change the Boot sequence to boot off the CD (for Windows XP Pro SP2), and I start installing it, it then requires a restart to finish setup. It restarts, and I get a wonderful, beautiful BSOD!

Basically (I'm at work, so I can't recall the error message off hand), I got a IRQL_LESS_THAN_EQUAL error. Now, do you think this is an issue of it trying to boot off the floppy even though there isn't one? I'd imagine that this isn't an issue, but it might still be in the BIOS (didn't go back, had to go to work) albeit in a lower boot order since it was properly running off the CD.

Any ideas what needs to be set to remedy this issue? I don't think it's exactly a driver yet (I can't install th... Read more

HI, I just installed windows 2000 professional onto my computer. Everything works fine except that the resolution is really grainy. On some web sites I cannot even make out what the words are. I found out that when I go into my monitor settings in display properties I am unable to install the drivers for my monitor. Does anybody know a way in which I can get around this.

Answer:monitor drivers unable to install on fresh windows 2000 install

Are you really referring to the monitor drivers or the Dispay Adapter drivers? The symptoms you describe sound like the latter issue.

Monitor drivers are no big deal to install, and even if you don't, Windows should use compatible plug and play drivers. Still it's a good idea to install them -- but you get them from the Monitor vendor site. You get the Display Adapter drivers from the Display Adaptor vendor's site.

What Display Adapter model do you have? And are they properly installed?

To install a Monitor driver, you download and unzip the .inf file from the Vendor. Then you select "update driver" and browse to the location of the file you unzipped. Once installed your Monitor should be recognized by model number.

Hi All,

Ok to cut a long story short, I was running the Insider Preview Build on a Virtual Machine, I decided to blat my laptop and install the insider preview on it instead day before official release. It built okay, but didnt like my insider Product Key & wouldnt activate. I ran windows update last night which brought down what I am guessing is the official release on my laptop...But when it is installing it asks for a product key which I dont have now.

I reserved 2 Windows 10 free upgrade licenses, 1 for my desktop & 1 for my laptop. But from what I can gather, I will not receive product keys? Is this correct.

Can anyone offer any advise on how I get my laptop activated

So, fresh install and build 7077 is super slow. I mean it shouldn't be this slow at least I don't think so.

It always takes 10-15 seconds to open up menus and things and the CPU is constantly at 30-50% load and RAM always at 25% according to the cpu/ram % gadget.

Any ideas?

Hello Forum, Once again I have the need to ask for help.

This time, I cleaned up an old HP Pavilion N5270, model (F2363M) Notebook. I am going to give this to a friend that needs a computer and they're having some financial prob's, so this hopefully will fulfill their needs for now.

Anyway, after the install (from the :crap - y, original install of ME) of XP Pro, the computer appears from the get go to be even slower than I remember earlier! This notebook has been sitting for over a year with no use, but I don't think it was ever so slow! Starting & Closing = Drags. When a window closes, (even worse with multiple windows) it drags very slowly in a cascade from top to bottom. Full screen window will take about 20 seconds to cascade closed!!! I thought maybe I had conflicting drivers, or missing drivers, or completed a bad installation of the OS? Then I remembered it only had 128mb install of ram & cpu is P3,700mhz. So I went online & found 2 sticks of memory to bring it to 512. (should be here anyday now)

Question: Would this major slowdown be because of the new OS over the old ME? Even though the specs (of XP Pro) say that it should be OK? I am hoping that increasing ram by almost 3x, should be a major benefit.

So, back to on post: I then thought maybe I got some kind of Infection? I did an Mbam scan a few days ago & it found some infected items? I did an SAS scan last night & it also found 2 items!

I will ... Read more

Answer:Fresh Install WinPro SP3 - SAS found Items!

One item appears to be a false positive while the rest of the items ( in MBAM ) are from system restore folders. ( You need to toggle system restore to flush out those restore points.)

No, you can not run XP Pro or home with only 128 megs!! Even 512 will be very slow. Ideally, you should have 2 gigs of memory, though this notebook may not handle it.

Google uses these to track where you go online so that they can add sites that they believe you would be interested in in your g-mail account.  This is why I closed my g-mail account.  If you want to get rid of these... get rid of Chrome.

Gents,

Running into a few problems with my new computer build (details in profile) and would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Quickly, its a new build and a fresh Windows 10 x64 install.

I have ran memtest86 for about 6 hours without any errors yet, I plan to let it run for atleast 12 hours next round.
I have taken out my graphics card (Strix 970) and still get blue screens.
It seems to happen no matter if i'm idle or stressing the system with Prime95.
I'm also running Driver Versifier without a BSOD yet.

Can anyone tell from my dump file if it seems to be a driver or hardware issue?
I have a limited amount of time to RMA stuff!

Edit: I spoke too soon, still getting multiple BSOD.
I had to restore my system so I lost some of the dump files but i'll post the most recent before my computer crashes again.

Thanks.

Hello. Quite frustrated. I replace most of the parts on my PC because I wanted an upgrade. It's the second PC that I put together but it's been a huge mess. These are the major components:

-Now-
Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming 3
Ballistix Sport LT 16GB single DDR4
Gigabyte R9 380 4GB graphics card
WD Blue 1T HDD
Crucial 275GB SSD

-Earlier-
Win8.1
WD Blue 250GB of age unknown to me
I assembled it, installed Win8.1 because that's what I had at the moment and it was fine for a couple hours. There was a sudden blue screen error and it automatically restarted. This happened a bunch of times over a week. Different errors that keep coming up.

"0xc000021a"
"oxcooo142"
"Driver IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

I couldn't find a solution for it. There didn't seem to be a consistent error message so I'm just confused. A windows update message came up so I initiated it, a really long download. While it was going I went out and picked up Win10 because I intended to upgrade soon anyway. When I got back the computer was kill. Trying to boot displayed the Gigabyte splash screen and then just black with infinite loading dots. I tried to format and install Win10 but it said I had to do it from desktop. I tried what is to me some esoteric, mystical bootrec command line voodoo I saw on a website, no changes. The only solution that worked was using the Startup Repair to do a refreshed install of Win8.1. That got things ... Read more

I recently built a new computer and have been having an issue with a recurring BSOD.

What I have tried so far to troubleshoot the issue:

Reseated all connections in the computer (unplugged and plugged back in).

chkdsk: pass

WD lifeguard diagnostics: pass on both quick and long scan

memtest86 - 8 iterations: pass

driver updates; chipset, video, bios, network controller

Replaced the 600w psu with a 700w after reading that the 390 is recommended to have at least a 650w

prime95: piece of cake

furmark: no problems

Fresh install of windows 7 - I reformatted the drive and reinstalled.

The crashes seem to happen at random times. Sometimes when I am playing a game, sometimes when the computer is idle, but not asleep, sometimes when I am browsing the web. I can't seem to pin down any particular activity that causes the crashes. It sort of seems to happen most often when I am playing ARK survival evolved, but I think that's because I am usually playing that when I am on the computer. Overall, the crashes seem to happen at fairly regular intervals (every hour or two), regardless of what I am doing.

Anyway, I am at a loss as to what to try next. I've spent hours scouring the net and can't seem to find anything to help. I will be running memtest86+ overnight tonight to see if that comes up with anything that memtest missed.

I just had to re-install W10 using the latest build offered by the Microsoft Setup Tool because W10 on one machine became corrupted somewhere along the multiple update path! No problems, except it seems that a few of the default settings are a little different than they were in previous downloads. Most are for the better. But...I can't seem to figure out how to turn off the display of all the disk drives in the Navigation Pane of File Explorer. I have five other systems that have migrated successfully along the update path and they don't look like the screen shot attached. What or where is the setting to turn off the display of the disk drives when the "This PC" is collapsed. I'm sure it something obvious but I need a little help. Thanks in advance.

Ok, so I built a new PC lastnight and proceeded to install what I thought to be Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. After the installation was done, I checked system properties and it's showing as a 32bit OS.

Here are my system specs:
AMD Phenom II x6 1055T Thuban 2.8Ghz Processor
4Gb of G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 Ram
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX Mobo
Onboard Video ATI Radeon HD 4290
Antec Earthwatts 650w continuous PSU (Crossfire ready)
Onboard Audio Realtec ALC892

When I try and check my Windows Score it says it can't rate my machine due to missing proper multi-media devices.

Basically, what i am asking is:
1) How can I tell that the disk I used was infact 64bit
2) Can my onboard video chipset cause it to not install as 64bit.
3) Did I simply get swindled and was i given a 32bit version instead?
4) Should the install disk prompt me for 64 or 32 bit installs?
I am completely lost with this, as I definitely want the 64bit version and would gladly pay for the upgrade from Home premium to Ultimate 64bit if that's the case, or buy a new copy.

I bought the disk from an ex Dell employee and it's legit (key wise), and labeled as 64bit, but is not offering me any options to choose 64bit installation. Only installing as 32bit.

Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

Hello, all. I built my first gaming PC last week. The build went well, but the following day, I got 2 or 3 random bsod's, mainly on start up. Updated mobo bios hoping it would solve the problem. System was stable for a couple days, then started getting bsod's again. One on start up, one after computer was idle. After another crash after booting up my PC last night, I decided to do a clean reinstall of Windows 7 (64 bit) and just start over. Got all "up to date" drivers for all components, did not install any extra programs other than Steam and Norton. Everything was running fine... until I started performing the numerous Windows Updates. Then, it started happening again. BSOD's. I have ran checks on the RAM, SSD, etc, but have come up with no issues. Must be a conflict with 1 (or more) of the windows updates/drivers? I restored from a previous point where windows was working last night, but am getting crashes again now this morning. I tried uninstalling Norton to see if that was the issue, but that did not help. I would really like to figure out what is causing this? I have already had 3 or 4 random bsod's this morning... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have uploaded the data/reports requested in the "how to post on this thread" with this post. I am new at this, but am somewhat technically sound, and can give you any info you need to provide me with any help. Once again, thank you.

Re-install Norton. It most likely is not the culprit (assuming it is up to date and the 2012 version) in your crashes and you need a security program installed on your system.

I am having a very similar problem to this topic: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/591853/windows-10-browsing-and-apps-not-all-working-like-it-should/?p=3828789 In summary after updates have installed and everything looks good random drivers start installing - Intel Grapics / Network / wifi / device manager has all these new hardware installs when I look back in device manager, a rouge Skype.exe and one drive.exe install by themselves and hyper v modules appear to be added.
However it is occurring on all my hardware and Mac. IPv6 installs by itself and also creates a IPv6 tunnel on my router which I have tried to disable however it keeps reactivating. My ADSL service also looks compromised but my isp insists that I'm not even though I'm on router number 4 - this has been occurring for 3 months- I'm rebuilding every couple of days and it's driving me crazy!!! Plese help!

hi all,

currently I am trying to do a fresh install of windows 7 on an old notebook, Compaq Presario V3500 (v3752au)

the problem:
I can not get pass the hard drive detection process, it kept throwing error saying that 'no device driver found'

what I have done so far: search for the motherboard specifications on the net and I got conflicted results, some state that the notebook uses nvidia nforce 560 chipset and the other state that it is using intel 945 chipset
however I downloaded both chipset drivers from numerous resources and still it would not work
consequently I tried every driver there is in Compaq support site and still I am in vain
posted this thread

additional informations: the original OS on the notebook is vista home edition but now it is all gone, including recovery partition
at first I can see the hard disk, but there is a problem using the existing disk/partition to install windows 7, went around the net looking for solutions and at the end I manage to delete the partition in preparation for a fresh install (using shift+F10 command prompt during locale selection)
booting windows 7 installation from usb drive is impossible since there are no such option in bios

I am hoping that any of you guys can point me to a proper remedy for this problem

thanks in advance

Hi, I recently installed a "clean" copy of Win 7 on my W530 (i.e. without all the preinstalled junk that Lenovo includes).  However, I can't get a few things working now, and I'm wondering if it's a driver issue.  I've gone to the support.lenovo.com site and downloaded all of the drivers for the W530, but the following things still are not working: 1. Brightness keys: presing the Fn + brightness keys (F8 or F9) do not do anything. 2. Pressing the volume up or down keys does increase or decrease the volume, but no vidual indicator is displayed on the screen to let me know how far up or down I've gone3. Pressing Fn + F6 (the camera button) does nothing. 4. In the biometric fingerprint settings I've enabled "login using fingerprint" but whenever I restart, it just gives me the typical login screen - no option for using the fingerprint scanner instead of typing in the password.5. The color calibrator will not work.  I keep trying it and I leave the lid closed for ~10 mintues but nothing happens.  When I open the lid it beeps at me and tells me the proces failed because the lid was opened during calibration.  I have a hard time believing that calibration takes 10+ minutes, though, so I'm thinking this is a driver issue, too. I'm wondering if the ThinkPad is just not built to be used with a clean install of the OS, and has to be used with the pre-installed Lenovo version of the OS.  Can anyone confirm or deny this?  If that is ... Hi all.

Have owned PCs for a long time but never really learned a lot of the stuff that is necessary if you're a PC owner. I'm now in the process of doing a fresh install of Windows 7 but not sure what to do to get all the drivers up and running after the install. My main concern is not having internet connection. So, what do I need to do to get the net going? My Motherboard is Asus and it's a custom PC. Will the CD that came with it have the driver? Or do I get it from Asus site? Is it the one listed under (LAN)?

Also, should I bother with the chipset and BIOS downloads ?

Thanks.

Answer:Drivers after fresh OS install

The driver CD should have all the ones you need, you can check the ASUS site for newer ones if you want, good thinking ahead though on the internet connection.

LAN would be Ethernet drivers, and that would be the best to have connected during installation, if for some reason the native one in the installer doesn't get you online the one you have on the CD or download will.

Chipset are the next most important drivers to install, BIOS you shouldn't need to worry about at all.

Hello all and thanks for viewing the post!

I recently did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate on my computer, but after the install, many drivers were missing (including ethernet and USB). I have the necessary drivers on a USB stick but obviously I can't use a USB without the USB drivers. I don't have a CD/DVD drive installed, so I can't burn the drivers to the CD and install. I can't send via bluetooth because no bluetooth. And of course I can't connect to the internet because no ethernet drivers. So, what options do I have left??

It's really frustrating because a dropped 1K on a new gaming rig and can't even play anything -_- For those wondering why I did a fresh install-- the original OS was in Chinese, as I am in Beijing currently.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

My laptop is an Asus a53sv laptop.

Thanks,
Norm

Ok. So my brothers computer got a virus on it and I decided that installing a fresh version of windows 8 pro would be adequate. When installing I figured I'd also wipe the drive to ensure the virus is gone. Now with that done there are no drivers and it can't connect to the internet. I've gone to the website and downloaded all the drivers on another computer and brought them to it. But after installing all of them we still can't connect to the internet and the driver is not found.

Answer:Fresh Install No Drivers

Hi: The product specs page for that model indicates that it comes with W8.1, so none of the W8.1 drivers are going to work on W8. If you need the W8 ethernet driver, download, unzip and run the setup application from the 3rd file at the link below... http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy... Here is the W8 wireless driver... This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188EE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66501-67000/sp66924.exe I suggest you do the updates to W8, so you can get the free upgrade to W8.1 from the Windows Store, and then you can use the W8.1 drivers from the support page.

I just installed XP Pro on my linux machine so I can do a few of the little tasks I can't do with linux. The problem is I have very few drivers and the important ones are not there (ie Ethernet Controller). I can't find the driver for it anywhere. Although I don't really know if I'm looking in the right places for it. I've been a linux guy for 3 years now and have forgotten a lot of my windows tricks.

When I go to System Information.. and I look at Network > Adapter.... here is what I see...

Name: [00000001] 1394 Net Adapter
Adapter Type: Ethernet 802.3
Product Type: 1394 Net Adapter
Installed: Yes
PNP Device ID: V1394\NIC1394\A631C811D800
Last Reset: 10/1/2008 9:24 PM
Index: 1
Service Name: NIC1394
[then a bunch of Not Available items]
MAC Address: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Driver: C:\windows\system32\drivers\nic1394.sys (5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158),6...

Any help on locating a driver would be much appreciated!

Answer:Fresh install of XP Pro has no drivers

Perhaps brand and model of the computer would help (if it's from a vendor); if it's a custom built PC, or you can peek into the case, look at the brand and model of the network card.

The device you're seeing is just the firewire port. For some dumb reason Windows XP installs them as potential network adapters. In theory you can use firewire for networking, but in practice, hardly anyone does.

I lost my install cd :(

I had to do a clean install of everything and I have downloaded all the Toshiba software drivers but there are still three devices without drivers:-

1) Base System Device
2) Network Controller
3) USB Controller

Where can i get drivers for these from?

Thanks

Answer:M30 after fresh install. Need some drivers!

Hello

All necessary drivers you can find on Tools & Utilities CD. There must be also an HTML file where you can find the installations order. The installations order is very important.

1.) It is not easy to say but I assume that Base System Device is card reader. If you can please check if the card reader works properly
2.) For Network Controller try to install LAN and WLAN driver. FireWire usually must not be installed separately because OS contains the driver for this port
3.) For USB ports there is no necessary to install any driver separately. The only thing that I have found is Hotfix for "WindowsXP USB2.0 driver roll up" KB822603

Hi all, I'm trying to do a vanilla installation of my Lenovo R61e 7650 and am experiencing something I've never seen before - I boot up XP, Press F6 and load the correct SATA drivers, Windows continues and successfully sees the hard drive, I tell it to format the hard drive but when it comes to asking for the SATA floppy disk again just before copying files (as normal), the setup suddenley ceases to see the floppy drive - game over.I decided to abandon the vanilla install and boot from the recovery partition but I don't get the To Start the Product Recovery program, press F11 message as instructed here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4UFUYK. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?  I wanted to update the bios to see if that helped but have discovered you can't do it from a floppy ( CD only and I don't have a burner apart from on my laptop ) or directly from Windows on the laptop ( and the laptop is blank because I've formatted the drive during setup and I can't run the recovery partition). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

I have a Vaio laptop with a Core2 Duo, 4GB of RAM, and W7 HP x64. I bought it used so I did a fresh install of Windows 7. It was going great. Then I did Windows Update and SP1 failed to install. The computer started taking 15-20 minutes to load the desktop after entering my password after startup. I tried re-installing SP1 once again and it failed.

Finally, SP1 installed on the third try (despite me not changing anything). After installing SP1, it loads the desktop normally after my password, but the computer takes 20 minutes to actually be useable. The blue circular just goes around and around. It takes 2-3 mins to open the task manager, which shows no odd processes running. Finally, after 20-30 mins, the computer becomes perfectly normal and I can multi-task with Chrome, Office, and Acrobat with no issues at all.

I have done virus scanning, spyware scanning, defragged, and disabled all startup processes to no avail-- although it doesn't do this in safe mode. I have all the latest hardware drivers and all Windows updates. I am at a loss for what to do. I'm worried that if I do another fresh install the problem may just reappear after SP1. I'm not 100% sure that SP1 is the problem, but it started right after SP1 failed and a similar issue remained after a successful install of SP1.

I've never seen a computer act like this despite a presumed absence of malware and all the latest updates and drivers. Any ideas?

Answer:Fresh install of W7 excruciatingly slow; no viruses/spyware found

Have you done a chkdsk? If not I would do that just to rule out it is having trouble reading a particular file.

Computer>rightclick the C: drive and select Properties>Check Now button>Tick both boxes and hit Start. It will schedule for next boot so reboot, let it run and then see if any change on Windows loading time.

Hey all,

Long story short im reinstalling XP on a machine for a client,

Did a fresh install, was about to install all the drivers and updates from my USB but windows will not even attempt to install the flash drivers, ive tried 2 usb flash drives and nothing is working.

I know its not the USB ports failing, as i unplugged the keyboard and mouse ports which i know are working, but it still fails (the light on my flash drive doesnt even flash)

Also went into device manager and unchecked all the USB root hub power saving options to off (turn this device off to save power)

Any suggestions? cheers

Hi all,
I just got a new Lenovo G560 laptop. To enable use of Truecrypt, I cleaned the drive and converted to MBR then reinstalled Windows 7 64 bit. Now, I cannot install any of the Lenovo drivers. They either fail saying that the computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the software or the drivers are not compatible with current hardware. I'm certain the system is 64 bit and so are all the drivers. I have tried reformatting back to GPT, no help. I have now been searching online for two days to find a solution and I am running out of time. I've tried so many things now - resetting BIOS defaults, removing RAM/battery for long periods of time, uninstalling an reinstalling devices. This applies to literally all drivers - USB ports, network controllers, ethernet and wireless cards, chipset drivers, all of them. I'm desperate, can anyone please help?

Answer:Can't install any drivers after fresh Win7 install

This isn't so much a "things aren't working" post, as it is a survey of people's recommendations on this topic. I got a P50 for work, removed the HDD it came with, installed a different one, and installed my company's corporate Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit image on it. Things are generally working fine.  Obviously I'm aware of the P50 drivers download page, and so far, in the process I have installed: BIOS 1.19Intel Wireless LAN DriverIntel PRO/1000 LAN DriverIntel Rapid Storage Technology Driver No other devices are currently appearing "unrecognized" in Device Manager.  So I guess my question is, does anyone have any suggestions or feedback regarding what other drivers I should (or shouldn't) install?  Any useful functionaliy I'm missing out on (fingerprint reader, perhaps) without another driver?  Any drivers that will likely make things work a lot better?  Any that are pretty unnecessary or bloatware?

Answer:Which drivers should I install on a P50 with a fresh Windows 10 64-bit install?

If your system is running fine, and all the devices listed in Device Manager are clear (no Unknown devices), then you do not need to install any other drivers for they will be installed as needed when new devices are detected.,   If your Fingerprint reader is not working, and you want to enable its functionality, you can find the driver for it, and other devices at the link below.    Some of the itesms listed on the Lenovo site below help keep your sustem up to date ,or check for hardware issues, so look at the read-me files for and decide if you want that functionality or not I let personally them run and find that they do not have any noticable impact on performance...   http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-p-series-laptops/thinkpad-p50...

I just bought a 500 GB SSD, and I installed Windows 7 Pro on it. I was going to clone my drive, but the SSD to USB cable I ordered was from China and won't arrive for more than a month (I did not see that when I ordered it). The install took, but it didn't pick the USB ports, wireless, or ethernet up. Normally, I would go to the HP site, download the drivers, and call it a day. This time, however, I simultaneously cannot access the internet, my USB drive, or my micro SD (i.e., I have no way short of buying and burning a DVD to transfer the drivers to the drive).

I tried the generic USB drivers provided with windows, but it still wouldn't read the drive. Is there a generic driver for WIFI, SD, or USB bundled with windows that will work in cases like this? I am a programmer and consider myself to be a modestly advanced user (i.e., registry solutions and system hacks are fine). Thanks in advance.

Answer:Install drivers on fresh 7 install without USB, SD, wireless, or LAN

Are those USB 3 ports (blue ones)?

Try Linux Mint MATE (if asked for choose TRY and not INSTALL!) or Windows 7 Repair Disk (command prompt) to copy paste to SSD.

Hi 7Forums,
I recently bought a new computer from a pc build website. I installed Win7 HP 64bit and started to instantly experience BSODs. After a bit of diagnostics, memtest told me that one of the RAM sticks was horrifically broken, that has since been sent off for replacement and the system has been 'more' stable with only 8gb. However I have still been experiencing BSODs specifically when the computer isn't doing very much of anything.

I have been trying to play BF4 which as you will probably know is littered with awful programming and has constant crashes, generally though (90% of the time) these are 'soft crashes' and I can ctrl alt delete and end the process. Most of the BSODs seem to not actually be related to the game crashing, though may have come about because I have been trying to update my drivers etc etc to stop the constant game crashes?!?
I have done another fresh install since removing one of the 8gb ram sticks, and did the usual driver installs, updates, and microsoft important updates. I then went through and re-installed all my usual programs - vlc/skype/CCcleaner/malwarebytes/adobe air/flash/postgresql/bbflashback video recorder/MSE.
Since my last fresh install on the 17th November I have had 12 BSODs many of which have come about when the computer is either basically idle, or i'm watching a youtube video or just browsing files in explorer rather than whilst playing bf4 or doing more intense stuff.

Hi lsaw2.

Your crash dumps are not showing finite cause, but they are stop 0x3B, usually caused either by RAM or by any driver failure..

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If memtest86+ is free from errors, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to ... Read more

I'm sorry, maybe I am reading this wrong.

It looks like you said you installed afresh windows 8 and then deleted everything.
I assume you mean, during the install of windows 8 you told it to delete everything from you harddrive and proceed with the install.

Have you installed the driver CD that came with the computer or downloaded latest drivers from Acers website, from another computer and copied to USB stick to install on this computer

I am working on a computer at my friend's business. It's actually on I custom built and set up for him at his garage. It's a 64-bit 3000+/MSI K8T Neo2/1024 Corsair Value Select/400W Generic PSU/Vodoo3... I installed a fresh legit copy of XP home on it, but when I went to install the printer software on it for a network printer, it wouldn't install because it said there was no usb support/drivers installed. I have updated windows to SP2, updated the bios, and even tried downloading an updated printer driver, but no luck. I also tried installing the 3rd party usb drivers from the MSI website but it said the file did not contain the correct information for the device (or whatever stupid message pops up). I tried using the hardware wizard to auto-detect, but that didn't work. I had this problem on a computer I worked on a few years ago, and a fresh re-install fixed it. But I would prefer to save the time and money it would cost for me to re-install windows on this system for him. Any ideas??

Hi, i've had enough of my (girlfriend's) slow Medion laptop (Model MD96032, 40gb 'C' hard drive and a partition of 15.9gb 'D' drive)) so im going to do a fresh install of XP. The system is 3 years old now and i have used it 3-4 hours per night and installed and uninstalled quite a few programmes in that time so im guessing a fresh install of XP would benefit it?My questions are:1, i have put all desktop folders/downloads/data into one single folder on the desktop and cut and pasted everything in 'My Documents' to a another seperate folder on the desktop, is there any other data i have forgotten about? All my downloaded data has always gone to 'My Documents' so i think i've covereed them but im still not 100% sure i haven't missed anything? Please let me know any advice you can offer?I've made a list of all programmes that i use so i can install them again after the XP install using the exe files that i have but what confuses me is:2, Do i use my XP disk (that Cream helpfully sent me)to do the install or do i 'utilise' the partition on my hard drive named 'RECOVER (D)' that contains folders named 'Recover', 'Driver', 'Tools', 'System Volume Information' and 'Recycler'? Again, im not 100% sure what or how to use this partition?Thank you in advance for any answers...!

Answer:Fresh install of XP,any advice please? Drivers etc

You need to backup everything you want OFF the laptop and place on memory sticks CDs DVDs or an external drive.Any thing on the laptop will be lost.Recovery is the best way to go as it will recover a full set of windows plus all the correct drivers and any pre installed softwqre that came with the machine. If its a Medion it will have come with recovery disks as well as the separately save partitionsThe Recovery Partition will have files named Factory.PQI FActory.002 etc these are images of the drive when new but you need the recovery CD to activate them.

I would like to apologize in advance for the tone of this post. I have not been in a very pleasant mood all day because of this.

I would also like to preface this by saying that the machine with the issue in question is a Toshiba Satellite C855-S5350. Which is a laptop.
Okay, we all know how it looks when you go to install drivers, right? The window that says what it is, and has an exit and start button on it? Right, onto the issue then.

My problem is, I encountered some weird crap this morning, computer refused to boot right so I figured screw it I'll just wipe it and reinstall everything.

But here's my problem. Firstly, if I try to put the downloaded drivers(that took five ****ing hours for nine of them THANKS TOSHIBA) onto a flash drive, I'm told that the files I'm copying have "properties that cannot be copied to new location". And then I put them onto a full-on external hard drive and did not encounter this problem.

Now is the fun part! I go to install the drivers on the laptop that was freshly-wiped this morning, and upon clicking start it does nothing. Progress bar fills up, then it closes and that's that. I watched task manager while doing this once and saw a second process, alongside the start/exit window appear and then immediately disappear. No error messages, no driver installed; nothing. I can't even get a network adapter installed to try and pull the rest of what I need through windows update.
Is this another of Microsoft's attempts to force ev... Read more

Hi,

I'm attempting a fresh install of Windows 7 ultimate onto a new build. The specs are as follows:

-Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz Socket 1155 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
-Corsair 120GB Force 3 SSD 2.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Read = 550MB/s, Write = 510MB/s -
-Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance Memory Kit CL9 1.5V
-Coolermaster Elite 330 Case With Coolermaster eXtreme Power 500W PSU
-Asus GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI Mini HDM Out PCI-E Graphicas Card
-Asus P8Z68-V PRO Z68 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard

I've made a bootable USB flash drive with files from MSDN, it seems in perfect working order.
When I attempt the install, everything seems fine until it gets to the beginning of the driver search and it returns with the error: A required CD/DVD device driver is missing.

When I attempt to browse and locate a driver, it doesn't show my SSD at all (despite it being fine in bios) but I can browse any USB etc that I plug in. I've dl'd all raid/mother board drivers I can find from Asus and pointed the installer at them but to no avail. I've also tried changing from IDE-Raid etc, etc in the bios.

I'm assuming that windows is having problems communicating with my SSD for some reason but other than pointing it at the newest drivers I don't really know what else to try.

Any help would be much appreciated as I've spent hours upon hours trying to resolve the situation.

Cheers in advance,

Matt.

I'm not sure if it would cause the problem but have you also installed the chipset drivers?

Also provide the following info

List any Problem Devices

Make sure devices are connected and powered on
Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so
Generate and attach a DirectX report

Click Start->Run, enter dxdiag and click OK
===> If you?re running 32 bit Windows, dxdiag will launch on its own
===> If you?re running 64 bit Windows, you?ll see 64-bit DxDiag. Click it to launch the 64-bit version of dxdiag
Notice progress in lower left window corner
When done, click Save Information button and save to your Desktop
In TechSpot window, use the paper clip icon to attach the report. (If you don't see icon you may need to first click Go Advanced)

I'm planning a reformat and clean install of XP Pro in the next few days. (Intel dual core with 4 GB RAM.)

The OS has been living on C drive which is a Raid 0 setup consisting of two 250 drives operating as one 500.

I also have a third drive (500GB) running as D drive (I do a lot of digital photography.)

The Plan: To replace one of the 250's with a 500 so I'll have one 250 and two 500's.

The OS and programs will go on the 250 and I'll use the two 500's for storage.

I don't plan to employ any kind of Raid setup and don't intend to install any Raid drivers.

Question: Since I've been running Raid 0 for C drive is there anything I need to do or reset or will the fresh install eliminate anything to do with my original Raid setup?

Also, has anyone used N-Lite when doing a fresh install and if so and suggestions?

Thanks

Answer:Fresh install and Raid drivers

If your drives are SATA you will still need the Raid (SATA) drivers. XP does not have native SATA support.

nLite is an excellent tool, and will let you integrate the SATA drivers in the TEXTMODE section of the installation package.

Hello everyone!

I just did a fresh reinstall of Windows XP Professional on one of my Dell computers and I'm having trouble getting the correct drivers.  When I go to dell.com to get the drivers, the names don't match.  I'm completely ignorant to this part of computers so I don't know what I need and what I don't.

I right clicked on My Computer and went to Manage.  Then to Device Manager.  From there I see a big list of items.  The one that I assume I am supposed to address is ? Other devices.  The following are listed under that:

?! Ethernet Controller
?! PCI Device
?! PCI Simple Communications Controller
?! SM Bus Controller
?! Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
?! Unknown device
?! Video Controller
?! Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

My Service Tag is BMJVLL1.

Can someone assist me in getting the correct drivers, please?

Thank you!

Answer:Installing Drivers on Fresh Install

On the drivers and downloads section on the dell website. I would download the ones under Audio, Chipset, Network, Video.

http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/uk/en/ukepp1/servicetag/BMJVLL1?s=BIZ

Install them one at a time and restart the computer if required then check again under device manager and see if any of the question marks have disappeared.

Also allow windows update to search for updates on your computer, sometimes it can sort some things.

Hey, I recently bought an xp home edition disc and did a fresh install on my computer because my old installation that came with my Packard Bell iMedia got completely messed up over time Anyway, I have now no drivers for anything. I downloaded the correct nvidia driver, which was easy to locate and which fixed numerous problems. However, windows doesnt ever know the logitech speakers are there. I have tried connecting them over and over again in the two different places I can put green and pink socket audio devices. Has anyone got any suggestions? I really don't know whether I need a driver for my sound card, which I think is intergrated. Not a certain brand such as my nvidia graphics card. Or do I need some other kind of driver? Like a mixer thing like I had sort of before that came with my computer. Please help a guy without a clue

Hi there

You guys were very helpful with the reverting back to Windows 7 from 8.1 that I've finally done it - hoorah!!
So, I'm in the midst of doing the Windows updates, all OK.
First off I had to install the Broadcom WIFI Adapter driver so that I could access my wifi connections and go online - sorted.

OK, I have an Acer Travelmate P253e - have been on the Acer website and input my serial number and got a whole host of drivers which I downloaded.
Everything is working fine with two exceptions:

1) When I watch something on my usual smplayer, the image is "odd" and when I drag the screen it has lag - I am guessing I need to update or install a video driver? Currently in the Device manager it says " Standard VGA graphics driver" - but I think it should be something more - however from all the drivers I have I'm not sure which one I should install. I don't want to install them all just in case I'm installing something I shouldn't or that I don't need.... I am pretty au fait with things once someone explains, so hoping for some help on that one.

2) I had Kaspersky running before, but when I tried to install it it was trying to install Microsoft Net Framework 4.0 I think, but it's not managing to do that - should i wait until all these Windows updates are completed, reboot and then try again?

As I say, any help greatly appreciated, any questions you need answering to be able to help me then fire away...

Many thanks in advance

Oh, The two files (I th... Read more

Hi all. We recived a number of the Lenovo Yogo 11E (20G8) Laptops recently and to bring them inline with our curriculum software we reimaged them. We loaded on a fresh copy of Windows 7 and reinstalled all the hardware. The issue now is that everything is working except the touchscreen. Whenever I look in the device manager everything is there, nothing is missing, but the touch screen still doesnt work. I have looked into GPIO and I2C controller drivers for Windows 7 but nothing I find seems to work. Has anyone got any ideas on how to make the touch screen active?

I have just completed a fresh install of XP Pro on my IMB Thinkpad T43. Device manager shows four devices without drivers: multimedia audio controller, video controller (VGA compatible), and two unknown devices. There is no device listed. There are no devices listed for display adapters or monitors.

In the Display section of XP Control Panel, it shows only "default monitor," and does not even register that I am using an Acer external monitor in addition to the Thinkpad's own lcd screen. Both give a display, but are refreshing very slowly so that when I scroll up or down on a webpage, the page seems to fold and the smooth out.

Everest indicates the the video driver needed is for an ATI Mobility Radeon X300. But when I download and try to install that driver, it says that the hardware is not found and closes.

Everest indicates that the needed audio driver is intel 82801fbm ich6-m - ac'97 audio controller. But the link leads to an Intel error page.

Your help would be appreciated.

Everest report attached.

Answer:Drivers Missing after XP Fresh Install

Sorry for replying to my own message, but was unable to edit it. I have successfully downloaded and installed the audio driver from the Lenovo website, but the installation of the video driver from that site does not work. The installation halts with an error message that reads: "one or more files that are required for installation are missing or corrupt. Setup will exit."

I'm sitting here removing a old floppy drive that croaked in my newly assembled computer and I'm wondering why we still have these things. The only time I have ever needed this thing is when reloading my computer and I need the driver disk for RAID/SATA/SCSI. Is there anyway around using the floppy drive? We have zip disk and usb keys that would do this job perfectly fine.

Answer:Fresh Install XP w/ RAID drivers and no A: - possible?

I think that you could only use the usb drive if you bios supported make that device look like a floppy, however there is a posibility of remaking the windows cd with adding user OEM drivers. There are articles on the MS site, I have limited time so I'm not going to search for them but with a littel luck you'll find them. you might want to check technet as well.

Hey guys, glad to be on the forums, and I hope i can find some help here.

I recently was forced to reinstall windows after my computer was ravaged by some terrible malware. I have moved 3 times in the past 6 months, and in the process I have misplaced the CDs that came with my computer parts. I am trying to get internet access on my computer, and understand I need an Ethernet Controller Driver to do so. If I had my internet, it would be much easier to get the other drivers.

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to help get me re-connected to the internet, and maybe some insight on the other drivers I may want to install as well.

Thanks

Answer:Fresh XP install, need drivers to get on internet

Here is the download page for your board. You must input what os you are using, then it will show the drivers.
You need at least the chipset/mb driver and the nic or network driver. Copy them to a flash drive or burn them to CD.
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products...erboard&ProductID=2321&ProductName=GA-965P-S3

For xp installs, this is the order in which to install;
1 Install xp
2 Update to latest service pack ie sp3
3 Install chipset drivers
4 Install sound, nic drivers
5 Install video driver
