Preferred Solution: Deleted files recovery?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:Recover Deleted Windows 7 Recovery Files from Recovery Drive

You might be able to use a free recovery tool like Recuva or MiniTool Partition Wizard. But there are no guarantees that all deleted files will be recovered or that they will be in a usable condition.

MiniTool Partition Recovery

It may be safer to contact HP support and buy a set of recovery disks for your particular machine. I'm taking a guess that you are in India?

don't know if this is the correct place to post this..but i run XP sp3 so figured it was a good as any.

i have accidently deleted a whole bunch of various files to the tune of 80 some odd GB from my portable hard drive.
Word Perfect, Word 2000, Excel 2000, jpg, tif, gif, pdf,

i have used recuva, diskdigger, glary undelete and free undelete so far.
when they said the file was in excellent or recoverable, i selected those ones.

but when i tried to open word perfect or excel they would not open.
most of the files that wouldn't open had Dl or D| preceding the sector number or name of file.

my question is....is there a way around this to open these files or are they really not recoverable even tho
the indication was that the file was in good shape.

i have read about various repair softwares, i tried one for word perfect and one for pdf. neither worked.

hope someone can give me some help.
thnx

I have deleted some files permanent-ally on my PC few months ago which i need now. Some are more than 200 MB size even. Is there any way to bring them back.

Answer:Deleted files recovery

Chances are that something has written over the top of them by now. If you want to recover files, you should stop using the drive as soon as possible so that no more files get overwritten. You should then scan the drive by connecting it to another computer, or by using a boot CD or USB stick with recovery tools on it.
Parted Magic disk partitioning, PC repair, and file recovery tool (Bootable CD or USB image)
If you prefer a bootable USB key, download and run Linux Live USB Creator. Choose the Parted Magic distro, and it will download it and automatically create a bootable USB key.

This CD (or key) contains many useful tools. You can partition, recover files, recover lost partitions, make disk images (by several different methods), transfer files between media, scan for viruses (It can serve as an Alternative Trusted Platform for search and elimination of rootkits and bootkits), examine and benchmark hardware, access the internet, and much more.

I have accidentally deleted an image file that I want to recover. I have been looking at the plethora of programs out there that offer file recovery. One of the best value for money appears to be "iolo search and recover" for $39 which also offers the functionality to create images of complete drives. One very inexpensive one is Filesaver $14.95 for a short period (but this does not have disk imaging). Before I plump for one, if anyone can make any recommendations - these or others - I would be most grateful.

I had A similar problem a while back and used Zero Assumption, it's freeware and very good. But be aware it can take a long time depending on the size of your drive, and will recover a load of rubbish you did not know was on your drive. I finished up with over 8,000 images, and fortunately the one I wanted was there click here

Answer:I ran recovery and it deleted files & photos

Ouch !
Generally not easy.... but there are some software programs that offer to recover data-- You can try using a knoppix live cd--- You download the file (freeware), and save thw iso file, then use your burning software to burn to cd - then run it live from the cd, and it is sometimes possible to copy the files ( they are still on the disc, just not accessable, without outside influence, like this.

Hi,

I recently deleted HDD Recovery files off the second partioned hard drive on my laptop so I could merge it into one hardrive.
Upon doing so I realised HDDRecovery may important.

However I am a bit confused if you backed this up to DVD/CD which I have done anyway is this the same utility?

So therefore I would have nothing to worry about?

Answer:Worried about deleted HDD Recovery files

Hi

The HDD recovery was a useful option which would allow you to recovery the notebook without the usage of the Recovery DVD.
You could simply recover the notebook using the HDD recovery option.

But now this will not be possible because you have changed, deleted the HDD partition and therefore you could use only the recovery disk.

I think it will not help to copy the HDD recovery files to the new partition because the previous HDD recovery contained some hidden signs and flags which pointed to the HDD recovery settings?

I ran an Acronis "Cleanup" utility that supposedly completely removes Acronis products from a computer. Hello,
I am using a HP notebook with Windows 8.1. When I purchased the laptop the D drive was set aside for 17gb worth of recovery files. I was attempting to re-partition the harddrive so as to be able to save things to a place other than the main C drive. I hold only base computer knowledge and managed to delete the only visible file within the D drive. I am unsure the name of the file. The file was roughly 230mb so the rest of hidden files remain. My question is as follows.

Is the inability to do a system restore or recovery important?

If so, will I be able to restore my computer at this point?

If not, how can I replace the file in order to do so?

If unable, would a fresh installation of Windows fix my error?

I do not have ready access to the Windows installation discs and codes/keys required so this would be the last resort hopefully. I don't know enough about this subject to even ask another intelligent question (or rather an intelligent question). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ryan

Hi ! I just got a Lenovo IdeaPad P580. I did a first backup with OneKey Recorery successfully. Then, some days later, I wanted to do it again, but I added a lot of files, so it didn't work because the backup wouldn't have enough space. I didn't realized that the D: disk only purpose was to content the factory settings (or near them), but nothing more. I put the drivers and the applications (but not the backup) from the D: disk on a DVD, and I wiped out everything. I wanted to free some space...Now that I realized the D: drisk was only there to store factory settings, I'd like to get the original backup back to have at least a D: partitition useful for something in case of emergencies... Otherwise, it's useless and I could merge it with C:, and do backups with an exeternal disk, but I'd like to avoid doing that...

Answer:Lenovo IdeaPad P580 and deleted OneKey Recovery files

Ok i'm not sure i understand everything you wrote for example:''I did a first backup with OneKey Recorery successfully'' What exactly did you do and how  did you do that? And:  ''and I wiped out everything. I wanted to free some space.''' Did you wipe just the D: or ...? To get your system back to factory settings (?nitial state, just as it was the day you bought it) please double cklick the One Key Recovery(OKR) ?con on the desktop click on 'System Recovery' A notice will pop up asking you 'Do you want to reboot your computer into the System Recovery Environment' Click Yes and then just follow instructions. When it's done evrything that should be there, will be(hopefully anyway).. Do let us know what happens.

I don't know if this question has ever been asked.

I want to know if anyone knows of a piece of software or a way to clean deleted file entries from directories permanently.

I'm asking because I have downloaded a few freeware and shareware programs and tested them for recovering deleted files. I did get one of them to work and recover the deleted files but the problem is it takes so long to scan the drive and it displays so many results it takes forever to search through them for the files I actually want to recover. So what I want to do is run some software that will clear all deleted file entries from my directory listings permanently (zero them out or something.) This way the next time I have to recover a deleted file the list will be much shorter after scanning the drive.

I have Windows XP Pro installed and have 2 physical drives with a total of 3 partitions. The first drive is formatted with 2 NTFS partitions and the 2nd drive is formatted with 1 FAT32 partition (moved this drive with a lot of data from another PC and don't want to bother reformatting to NTFS.)

Anyways the last time I scanned the E drive (FAT32 - 80GB) it took about ten minutes to scan the drive for recoverable files and listed som 50,000 - 60,000 files that could be possibly be recovered. Even using filters to limit the list I came up with 27,000 JPG files (as I was trying to recover about a dozen JPGs I accidentally deleted.) I was able to find them without an incredible amount of di... Read more

After experiencing an error with windows, it wouldn't start up and said I was missing the hal.dll files, I fired up the windows recovery program. It worked like a charm, replaced windows and the hal.dll file, however all my folders with docs and pictures on the desktop that were there previously (which accumulated over years) were not there anymore. Is there any way to recover these missing folder and files? They weren't saved on the c: directly but only on the desktop. Answer:System recovery for xp deleted my personal files on desktop, can I recover them?

If the computer hasn't been used much since the recovery most of your files will be intact.

The tricky bit is getting them back. The only real way to retrieve your data is to remove the hard drive, plug it into another computer as a second drive and run a piece if recovery software over it.

The first two links are to free recovery software, the third is paid for - this one does work very well.

Hi everyone,

I'm stuck in a pretty bad situation right now and I have no idea about how to help myself..So recently I've been wanting to 'reset' my Windows 8.1 laptop, & I just cannot because my recovery environment is missing..
First when I got this problem I thought there would be an easy-intermediate level fix like every other problem. (and I love fixing stuff.)

But this one doesn't look like an easy fix or I'm not even sure If there is a fix. So the big mistake I did was, I deleted my "System Recovery Partition".

I have searched everywhere possible and I'm not getting a fix.. I would really appreciate IF YOU GUYS HELP ME!
and another problem is that I don't live in the USA or Canada.I've got a Dell Inspiron 15R 5521, 8GB RAM, intel i5 3317u.

and Dell provides Backup Media to only the people who live in the US and Canada. Please guys, I need a solution.

I have a separate Windows 8.1 Installation Disk, but what I'm scared about is If I install my Windows from the disk, my Dell features would be gone and I don't think I'd be able to have a proper Recovery Environment in the future because this Disk's installation files are nothing related to Dell. Its just a clean Windows installation disk I got from my friend a while ago. I've tried the repair my computer option from the disk and it does not help...

Thank you

Hi folks - I've just had a frustrating moment trying to make a Recovery Media set on my new T450.  I followed the prompts using Lenovo's "Factory Recovery Discs" program.  When prompted, I inserted a USB drive, expecting the program to tell me at some point what capacity was needed, but it never did.  So after only one or two quick optionless prompts, it began creating the media on the USB.  Quickly it stopped, and gave a message saying that the capacity of the drive was insufficient (while still not saying what size was necessary), and gave me only one option:  Delete Recovery Partition and restore drive to normal functionality - or something very close to that wording.  So I clicked OK, assuming it was referring to the USB drive - because why would a user want to delete the factory Recovery Partition at this point?  But that's exactly what it did.So now I have no Recovery Partition (formerly the Q: drive), and I can't tell if that space is still allocated (but unavailable to me), but I suspect that's the case.  I've attached below, a screenshot of what I see in Drive Management now.I'm frustrated that with one click on a poorly-worded message, in the process of creating Recovery Media, I was given the option (and only the option), to delete the Recovery Partition itself!  Mind-smoking. Any options for restoring that data, short of sending my new PC back to Newegg or Lenovo?  I suspect it's only logically deleted, (if I ... hi izadfard

Welcome to the Forums.

If you didn't create a recovery drive (using this method) then I recommend you contact lenovo on how to obtain a copy of the recovery disc which restores the preloaded Win8 OS, drivers, and apps.

Alternatively, if the machine came preloaded Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you can try the following:

For Windows 8:
1. Obtain a Windows 8 installation disc and use it to reinstall Windows (if the system is preloaded with Windows 8, the installation will automatically detect the Win8 product key in the UEFI Firmware / BIOS and will automatically activate Windows).
2. From here, you can obtain the drivers from the G510 drivers page and/or upgrade to Windows 8.1 via the Windows Store (see this guide)

For Windows 8.1:
1. Check this guide on how to obtain a Windows 8.1 ISO (see Option One)
2. When finished, follow this guide to make a bootable UEFI Win8.1 installer via DVD or USB flashdrive and use it to install Windows (the installation should be able to detect the Windows 8.1 product key in the UEFI firmware that will let you activate Windows).
3. If successful, obtain the drivers from the G510 drivers page

Hello, A friend conscientiously made the recovery disks when he got his machine, and now needs to use them. Much to his and my dismay, some of the files on the disks are corrupted in some way or another. He upgraded the hard drive after making these disks and had wiped the original drive in order to re-task it, so nothing from it is available. The machine is out of warranty, of course, so I understand that support will be ... less than supportive. Where might I be able to download disk images (preferably in DVD format) or perhaps the individual image files which are damaged? I can provide a list of them and which of the recovery disks they are from.  Would anyone consider making such available for download or uploading them to a website? You can privately contact me at  tumbleweed underscore biff at yahoo dot com.  Thank you in advance. The machine is a 7650-9LU Mike

Windows 8.1
Started a new account, with admin privileges. Deleted old account also with admin privileges. Selected the "KEEP FILES" option. Deleted account. A folder pops up in desktop, with the computer's name. Under that folder there was another folder with old user name, and under that folder there was yet another folder also with old user name. Completely empty.
Desktop>[COMPUTERNAME]\[USERNAME]\[USERNAME]\Empty
I don't have a restore point to which to retrieve my files. The c:\ disk says there is 600GBs of free space, previously I had only 300. All the library from my old user account have been wiped. I also checked Recycle Bin which is empty. The current account has admin privileges and is set to show hidden files. I was told that it might be under c:\Users. I checked that with CMD and two folders were titled "." and "..", they don't show under file explorer.

I am running Recuva right now, but from what I understand that won't be able to restore file names and fragmented files, which are both critical. I also had an encrypted file with a none standard extension which might be ignored by Recuva.

Answer:Deleted User Account, Selected Keep Files, lost all files

Hello Abe, and welcome to Eight Forums.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but this is a perfect example of why you should always back up anything that you do not want to lose first to be safe.

I hope Recuva may be able to recover your files for you.

Did you have any system images or Windows backups to restore them from?

Hi there,

Sorry if this is in the wrong section!

I recently got a new additional desktop at office that has Windows 7 Professional loaded on it. I use my laptop as the primary computer, but need to start using the desktop for other routine activities.

I need to run a vbs/exe file in the background, as soon as the Windows loads up. I copied few files and everything works well. I had saved the program along with the vbs & exe file in 'C:/Program Files/New Doc' (no specific reason). But when I restart my desktop, all the files get deleted. I was reading online about this and I figured, this could be because Windows 7 is booting on the network? I am not sure, but that explains why all the files I download get wiped/deleted on the next restart.

I was wondering if you can help me out in three things:

1) Can you confirm if Network Boot is the reason why files are getting deleted?

2) Assuming Win 7 is working on Network boot, is there a folder/location where in which, the file I save are not deleted in the next restart?

3) My main concern is that, I need to run this VBS/Exe file on Windows startup, but because all the files get deleted on start up, I can't put the file in the Startup folder or use the Task Scheduler or Group Policy to get this file working on Startup.

Thanks a lot in advance. Any help is appreciated!

It sounds like you may have Time Freeze, Returnil, or some other "sandbox" software running that uses the Shadow Service to divert downloads and file copies to a cache rather than the actual disk drive folder. When the system is booted the cache is discarded. Files all gone.

Try downloading and running AutoRuns and look for these programs. If you don't see any I mentioned then you may have to search on any you don't recognize.

I deleted my user files by mistake so nothing has left. I even can't tap the start. Using windows 10.

Answer:I deleted user files by mistake in C: files. Using windows 10.

How did you achieve this? Doesn't it show several prompts before you can delete your profile? Also, I thought you couldn't delete it while using the account?
Unfortunately, I do not know how to fix this other than to create a new user profile.

Hello, i have a samsung qx411-w01 and i was having issues with it such as blue screen crashes, several program crashes etc. Unfortunately, my system restores got cleaned out and there was not a way to go back before the errors started. I decided to use Samsung Recovery Solutions to restore my windows files but instead of a quick restore i mistakenly did a complete restore which restored my entire windows drive (not just folder) and deleted ALL my personal files and reverted my computer to the state it was when i got it in 2012. Im currently trying to get my files back using recuva but everything is disorganized and i have no idea how to get it all back... I want to recover entire folders but the files are scattered. I mostly just want music, playlists, pictures, documents, videos, pdfs, etc. Im not worried about reinstalling the programs and settings. I havent been touching my computer much because i dont want deleted files to get overwritten. I really need help restoring my computer to what it was, what should i do? Please help

Answer:All personal files deleted. Files scattered on Recuva

Hmm, Getting those files back seems to be hard, but let's do it...
Go to computer> C partition>Users ---- Your old user account should be stored here, open it and your deleted files might be stored here.

Question: Deleted recovery

I wanted to roll back to win7 home but my son somehow deleted the recovery partition of the hard drive, I did make copies of the installation disk but unfortunately it says it doesn't work with this laptop hp G72, so I'm stuck with win10 build 10162 which isn't a bad thing but when they do roll out the final version of 10 will I still have a genuine copy of win7 even though the recovery has been deleted ? Thanks

Answer:Deleted recovery

Yes you should still have a genuine copy since you upgraded from a genuine Windows 7. Either way you should have a Windows 7 key on the bottom of your computer to use for a fresh install in the worst case scenario.
The only thing you'll be missing is the ability to easily reinstall to your factory defaults from when you purchased the device. Honestly though you won't be missing out on much besides any bloatware or trial software HP would have loaded onto the unit back then. You can still get all necessary drivers from HP's support site after doing a clean install.

Hi,
I already searched through alot of threads but could not find anyone having the exact same issue.
We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise with SP1 which is hosting a DFS Namespace.
A customer of us works with his notebook (Win 7 SP 1) and has enabled Offline Files for his personal folder
in the DFS path. The initial synchronisation seemed to work and no sync errors are reported in Sync Center.

Now the problem is, everytime he opens a document from his DFS path and saves it, a .tmp file gets
created there and doesnt disappear. Not even after reboot. As far as i know it happens with Word, Excel and PDF documents.

If I log on to the server and browse to his path, i cannot see those .tmp files, only he can see it.
If I try to delete those files from his notebook I get an error "File is no longer located in... Verify the item´s location and try again".
What I have tried so far:
If Offline Files get disabled, those .tmp files disappear. On activating they are visible again.
Tried "Delete temporary files" from Sync Center -> Manage Offline Files -> Disk Usage. Nothing happened.
I tried to repair Office, didn´t help.
The only Group Policy Settings we have relating to Offline Files are "Synchronize all offline files before logging off"
and "Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files Feature" which is enabled.

Would be nice if someone can get me into the right direction to fix this issue.

Hi,
I got a new PC recently and I upgraded it to W10. I copied all files that I had from old PC into the new one, and I named the file "Windows.old".
Recently, everything had gone. Absolutly everything...
I did some research, in the meantime and I found about that "windows.old" issue that is been around for the new users of Windows 10.
Is there anything I can do to recover the files that, for me were not to be deleted?
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Old PC Files that I copied into new PC with W10 were deleted. How can I recover the files?

little bit silly naming it the same as windows would use as a temp upgrade. Personally would have called it something else. doubt the files are recoverable unless you run recovery software on the drive and see if it returns.

Hi, I used Puran to recover some deleted files from my external hard drive and when I open some of the files I get the following message:

"This document could not be registered . It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document."

The documents still fully open and they look like they are all there. Also, when I look at the properties of some of the folders they say there is 0 bytes in them. I did the recovery twice, once selectively with only the files that I thought I needed such as .doc and .pdf, and again with everything including files such as .cab . chm .dwg .hlp .mdf. Two identical recovered folders from each recovery say they have a different amount of data in them.

My question is: are there supporting files that need to be recovered along with the .doc and .pdf files to fix the issues and to make sure i have recovered everything, such as the .cab .chm etc?  I didnt the extra files were necessary but on further research they might be files needed by word. Are they only needed for the program and not individual files?

Thanks for the help!

Answer:When I recover deleted files, are there supporting files also?

Check if the service "DCOM Server Process Launcher" is set to Automatic and running. Start->Run->type Services.msc, scroll down until you find the service. Also check to make sure the "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" service is set to Automatic and running.

Answer:recovery partition deleted

Prasanna-pc Ordinarily, I would recommend using HP Recovery Media to restore your PC to its original condition. That would erase the entire drive, format the drive, and install the OS, the drivers, and the HP utilities.Unfortunately, there is no HP Recovery Media linked to the HP Product Page for your PC.  This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP no longer stocks the recovery media for your PC. They no long stock recovery media for the older PCs.You can try contacting HP Customer Support directly, using the links below, to see if you can order if from them:If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.htmlNOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while! If HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, a couple of other sites you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/  and http://www.restoredisks.com/ Good Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------If my posts helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol on my post to say thanks. If my posts solved your problem please click "Accept As Solution".=======... I sure hope someone can help me with this. I have an Iomega 160 Gb external hard drive thats about a year old. I put some software, movies, mp3s and games on it from my old pc because I was gonna transfer it to my new computer. For some reason I thought that I already put it on my new pc so I wound up deleting all the files on my external hard drive. I did it using the shift/delete method. Well today I realized what I did and the files are gone. I called a few places and was told that since I did it using the shift/delete method that theyre gone. I dont want to go through the trouble of a data recovery service if the chances of getting the files are slim. Can anyone give me an honest answer on what my chances are on getting the files back. Also, I checked the recycle bin just in case and theres nothing there. One other question out of left field, if the files cant be recovered would I be able to find out dates of other files I've deleted from info left on the external hard drive. As you can tell I've deleted stuff accidentally a few times. Thanks for your help.

I can't refresh or reinstall using Windows or Samsung functions, which I is my own fault as I deleted the recovery partition by mistakenly thinking it was not important.

I have contacted Samsung, they say it's my fault so they won't help. I contacted Microsoft and they said the same. Nobody will provide installation disks. I think these are my options..

1) Use my flatmates Windows 8 laptop to make disks. Its a different brand laptop though, is this a problem? Also, should I use DVDs or CDs? I have my serial number and product code and I don't mind downloading drivers from Samsung.

2)Buy the Windows 8 Pro upgrade for ?50 because I'm a student. But I'm unsure if this will be a full install with all the files I need because it is only an upgrade?

I would like to sort this out sooner rather than later. I need my laptop for coursework. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Answer:I deleted my recovery partition.... I know now that's bad!

It isn't a bad idea at all....but that's assuming you have made recovery discs. Anytime I buy a laptop, I wipe the drive completely and install the OS myself, but I keep a copy of my restore discs, just in case. Having your only recovery method on the hard drive (which is prone to fail) is never a good idea.

That all being said, do you have any friends who might have a plain vanilla Windows 8 disc? The recovery discs from another laptop, assuming they even boot, typically won't let you repair a system...only reinstall.

Answer:Recovery of doc deleted from recycle bin

Firstly, no the memory on you're laptop loses all information once it is switched off, but the data will still be on your Hard Drive (that is where the data is stored, not memory). Of course, you can 'Shred' files, this will remove them permanetly and they will be totally unrecoverable.http://www.pcshredder.com/

Hello guy I'm new here and have come to this spot after searching.
What happened was I got a terrible virus that locked my computer so my only option at the time was to install a fresh copy and upgrade I went from win 7 home x64 to ultra x64. As I installed the fresh copy I chose to delete the old partition because of the virus not remembering all the stuff I had on there that I still needed data/doc/pics and so on when I was done everything was in working order and fresh.my second issues was when I bought my new iPhone the SIM card is different so all my contact and everything was lost for the last year because my back up was on my old system. I have been using stellar phoenix data restore pro and it finds the old system with everything on it.
The hard drive is on 250 gb on a acer aspire 5532 I think the old system may have been using around half of the space or even 150 gb tops.
When I go to recover the system it takes very long just to do 1g more like 15 hr just for that which is so time consuming I'm just worried maybe I'm going to fry my hard drive.
I have a 3 TB external hard drive I installed phoenix on and will recover info on that.
please let me know if there's any other way to get the deleted partition back I've also tried using other software but they do not find anything most say no unallocated found don't even no what that means lol but again I would be deeply greatfull if anybody can help also I've done another scan with phoenix its all come up again finds it e... I'm using a windows system I honestly am not sure which.

While uploading a set of photos I was rushed and cancelled it because I had to get going with the memory card. I decided to make room by seeing which photos uploaded and delete the rest but it appeared like they all had.

I see now that the photos for whatever reason appeared to upload from the beginning and end towards the middle (ridiculous). And now I am missing a big chunk of photos in the middle.

To clarify the photos were deleted from the memory card when it was plugged into the computer. Is there anywhere in the computer they may have gone? I have since filled the memory card up with new photos before noticing.

These photos are REALLY important

I'm afraid that you you are out of luck on this one. You should always copy your pictures (and other important data) to some sort of offline storage, CD, DVD, memory cards, usb storage, etc.

Sorry.......

Hello, I deleted the recovery partition from my W520 drive. I had made the recovery media to a USB drive but I misplaced the drive! I can't find it anywhere. If I call Lenovo can they send me recovery disks? Even if I have to pay a small fee I don't mind but I need to reinstall Windows. Thank you for your help.

Answer:Deleted Recovery Partition

Yes, they will sell you the disks.

I bought a laptop about a year ago from Currys which was already pre-installed with Windows 7.

Yesterday I decided to use the free version of Killdisk to wipe my laptop as I read it helps speed up the machine rather than formating as a format doesn't delete everything.

Problem is, | have now deleted my recovery partition and can't seem to find any info on getting it back.

Also my Windows 7 Serial key has rubbed off the sticker on the back of my laptop so I can't just download Windows 7 and install using that.

If someone could help me on recovering Windows 7 back on my laptop it would be greatly appreciated.

I have now installed Windows XP on the laptop, don't know if that is needed info or not.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A500

Thanks.

John.

I accidentally deleted a sub folder in Outlook Express. Is there any way I can recover the lost emails in the folder???

Answer:Deleted folder recovery

Look in your Recycle bin first and see if the folder, or the email (*.dbx) is sitting there. Otherwise try a search for all files *.dbx and see if it comes up with anything other than your existing storage folder. If it does your in luck - you can import it frome the file/import facility. Otherwise there are programs on the web which the readers can direct you to.

Hello all and hope you all are fine. I bought an Acer Aspire 5520 few years ago. It has a partition with Windows Vista installed on that. Unfortunately that partition is deleted completely so I can not recover my laptop to its factory setting. Is there anyway that I can install that original windows Vista again? I looked behind my laptop and there is a label with a product key. Is that useful? Thank you in advance with your helpKind Regards

Answer:Recovery partition is deleted

if you are able to find a Vista original installation CD, you can use the product key on your notebook. if you want the original Acer installation media: Acer recovery mediaif you are in the US you can buy it:http://store.acer.com/store/aceramer/en_US/eRecoveryif you are outside the US, you must call/email your regional Acer support service:http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/#_ga=1.157815354.1650522051.1412414371
