I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: AMD announces Radeon R9 Fury X, R9 Fury and R9 Nano GPUs; also Project Quantum, a dual-Fiji SFF PC

Custom form factor requirement makes Quantum DOA. White box manufacturers won't touch it..only the Alienwares and the like will even give it a shot and they won't move enough units to make it viable.

Hey everyone...
Currently, I have the ATI Rage Fury Pro/Xpert 2000 Pro Graphic Card and I am thinking of getting the ATI All in Wonder Radeon 7500. I just want to make sure that this is a good decision. Im almost positive that this card is better than what I already have but just making sure. Is it better?

Oh BTW.... It's totally offtopic but ok... How can i tell how much power supply im getting right now? (Sorry if the question maybe seem stupid)

Thank You in advance.

Hello, I need some help.
I just bought a new computer that I cant get to run any 3D games.
It works fine with everything non gaming related but when I start up games like
black ops 3 , gta 5 , project cars, rust , wildstar I get in the menu and can start the game.

But when inside the game when its finished loading I might be able to play for 2-10 seconds
and the screen goes black (shows a disconnected hdmi cable icon on monitor) while the audio
keeps running in a loop for 4 minutes. Then the audio and lights on my Razer keyboard and
mouse dissapears. Meaning both the speakers and mouse/keyboard loses connection to computer
aswell.
I've tried pressing alt-enter, alt-f4, ctrl-alt-delete, alt-tab but it dont help.
I have to press the power button down for 5 seconds and reboot.
The things I can play with great success however is League of Legends, Diablo3 and
Adventure Capitalist. Ive play these games for hours no problems except for one:
In League of legends I can only play on the map Summoners Rift, if I play on the higher
graphically intense map "ARAM" i sometimes get back screen.
Oddly enough 3D Mark Advance benchmark program works fine. Ive ran it about 30 times
and it works fine but I dont know if the results is good for my computer. The result is here:

In two years time, if not less a stock clocked mid range card costing a quarter, if not less (again) of the price of the Fury will embarrass that 3DMark score but that's not what counts, the fun was getting it.

Question: ATI Rage Fury Pro

Just a quick question. I have tried for some time to upgrade the driver for this card. I am using version 4.13.0001.7192 now.
I have visited the ATI site and this is the newest driver they have available. Is there anywhere else I can look for a newer driver or is this the newest I am going to get?

Thanks

First, if it's working ok, leave it be. Second, if it came with your computer, you might check with the manufacturer.

Question: Norton Fury

I run Windows XP Home. A fortnight ago, I discovered I couldn't update my Anti-Virus online and so I sent to PC World for Norton Internet Security (as I don't live in a large town.) This installed without hitch, as did Save and Restore, which is supposed to be an improvement on Norton Ghost. However, yesterday morning there was a red X on my Norton icon, and an error message saying I should Fix a problem, ie. Auto Protect, which wouldn't work. This proved not possible, and so I uninstalled Norton Internet Security, plus Save and Restore (which was necessary to do the former) and then reinstalled. All works fine now. What I need to know is - is this likely to be a regular occurance, as there was no special reason why it happened in the first place? I spent a whole morning just to get back to how things had been when I switched off the evening before.

Answer:Norton Fury

rosie, the judgement about Norton is still out there and you will find ardent defenders and opponents of norton products, it sometimes appears like a fight good against evil...Speaking from experience,it unlikely that some unexpected occurance like you described takes place again.i have no answer about the "why it happened".If you ever need to unistall a Norton product-Norton has its own unistall programme: click herewhich you need to follow to the letter.

Question: Webcam lag fury!

My girlfriend and I live a couple of hours apart for the time being. We use logitech webcams for video dates in the meantime. She got hers from walmart and I think it's one of the more entry level models. I thought I was being smart and I bought the C910 which is HD capable, but its total overkill. Anyway, for the most part our video chats are smooth. On occasion the audio from her end is garbled and I miss words. Sometimes the image freezes as well. She says that my picture freezes up quite frequently. We use Logitech Vid HD for now, but I'm not overly impressed. I have no reason to believe that I'm sending or receiving in HD at this point. Let me describe some background stuff so I can get specific advice, if possible.

1) I have a desktop pc with wired gigabit internet.
2) She uses a laptop with wireless internet in a top-floor apartment in a building mostly made of metal. Even when we talk on the phone, she can move around in her apartment and have the call get dropped. I think this is the #1 problem here. The router for her internet is downstairs from her.
3) I'm not sure if I'm totally not to blame, sometimes Vid HD will tell me that MY call quality is low. I had a USB port short out a month ago, I'm not sure if that might be messing me up.

My girlfriend is a peach, but she can't make heads or tails of any technical talk, even when I try to put it in plain terms. I have a very hard time telling her that 'it's your terr... Read more

OK, I know it shouldn't be done and I shouldn't bother, but how can I have users with different levels of security in XP Home?

My options now are

Administrator or Restricted

thats good and all but my client wants to set his son as restricted but then he can't run pre XP computer games.

I have tried running them in windows 95, 98 2000 whatever compatability modes to no result.

have also tried hacking the boot ini to let me boot up in safe mode and changeing the folder permissions for that user but this also does not work.

it is thus very annoying that only the Admin users can play these old games and not 'restricted' users any advice?

I think you may have answered this before, but I installed Microsoft's Fury 3 ( A Windows 95 era game) on my Windows XP system. It does not recognize my USB joystick. I know that there was no USB in 95, but is there a patch or some way to make the joystick work with this game. The joystick works in the Windows Games and Controller window as far as calibration. Is my only way around this to find an older computer and use that to play the game?

The XFX R9 Fury will not show a signal. Most of the time it will power on, the pink light will turn on for a split second then go off, the fans go to full speed and no signal shows on the monitor. Every now and then the light will stay on for about half a second and the monitor will show a split second of the first Dell boot up screen before the light and screen go off and the fans go to full speed.
old HD7870 GPU works fine. So far I have tried; updating the BIOS, resetting the CMOS, removing all old display drivers, using a different HDMI, removing all hard drives.  Even upgraded the PSU from a corsair CX500M to a corsair CX850M. Still no luck.

Ok, I got a friend who has a:

K7 Triton 400 Gigabyte Motherboard
Model: GA-7VAX-A

And a Fury Rage Pro video card

has a problem.. He JUST GOT his new motherboard and now when he tries to run anything in 3D his computer stalls or everything goes black. His video card worked fine with his old motherboard so I just assume it's a compatibility issue. Can anyone help? RSVP.

Answer:GA-7VAX-A and Fury Rage Pro don't mix... -_-

Ideally, you would not want to use such an old card with a new motherboard. Without looking up the specs on this board I assume it only does AGP 1.5V cards not 3.3V cards which the Rage Pro might be?

Another question... was the harddrive formated and all the new drivers installed for all the hardware(downloaded from the internet) or was the harddrive moved from another system with windows 98 already installed? If moved this could be the problem - soemthings moving Windows has odd side effects if it is not format and reinstalled.

It is just about 2 years old 32 meg video card. I hope someone out there finds it to be familiar.

I just tried to install Links 2003 and the system is telling me that I do not have 3D video.

I have tried to get info on the video card but so far no luck in determining the 3D capabilities.

Does anyone know if it is a 3D card, or how to use the computer to determine whether or not is?

I had suspected a lack of driver because the Device Manager shows the WinXP driver as the installed driver for the device. I tried to download a new driver but it said I had the latest.

Purchased a new Dell XPS desktop from Best Buy May 2016. Stock RAM is unknown 8GB x 2.
Bought some Kingston memory from Amazon to add to this machine, I purchased Hyper X Fury HX421C14FB2/8 DDR4 8GB 2133 Mhz x2 and when it came, installed in my machine two empty RAM slots. Shut off power, restart machine (Windows 10) and machine did not boot, only got flashing amber power light, 2 flashes, then 7 flashes, then repeat...
Removed Hyper X RAM, machine boots normally as before.
Kingston website memory finder tool says I should have bought Kingston KCP421ND8/8 8GB
Not sure what the difference is, if any? Anyone have any insight into why this Hyper X Fury did not work? Any idea if I can use this Hyper X Fury RAM or am I hosed and just get the RAM recommended by the Kingston website app?

I have finally given in to friends telling me that I should upgrade to XP from 98SE and now find that both my video card and sound cards cannot find a correct driver. The video card is an ATI rage Fury Max dual processor and the sound card is an Aureal2 or Sonic Vortex2 (depending on if you believe the box/manual or IRQ printout that I keep, not sure what the connection is here).
My system is an ageing Athlon K6/2 450 with 320Mb RAM and a 90Gb HD. 98SE worked OK but I now want to benefit from XP having seen it on my laptop.
I know the processor isn't the fastest but it is within the MS minimum specs.
Can anyone help with drivers or should I just reformat and reinstall 98?

I have a Gigabyte 970a-ds3p MB and just to get it going I stuck in a phenom ii x4 955 (the 95w tdp) and a 8gb hyperx fury 1600. Cpu-z shows it running 1333 (actually 1339). I have looked every where and similar problems show changes in BIOS, most to enable XMP. Hyperx fury doesn't use profiles and it is automatic set. The BIOS registers it as a 1600 stick but not real time speed. I thought it might be a limitation of the CPU but many people have posted phenom ii 955 with ram at 1600 stable. I haven't tinkered with BIOS, I was familiar with some AM+ BIOS and they were delicate so I didn't want to go stomping around in this one even though I've heard they are forgiving. Any one familiar with this want to give me some suggestions? The BIOS version is FD.

Just bought a 19" Gemstar LCD flat screen monitor. It works perfectly when plugged into my laptop. On my PC however, it only works in safemode and normal bootup with the lowest resolution (600x480 8bit). I have to press f8 during normal boot up though and select "enable vga mode" everytime so it will show the desktop with the lowest resolution. It would've been fine, except that the screen seems way too large than what I'm used to, can't even see the bottom areas to click the ok or cancel buttons on some settings. Can't change resolutions either, whole thing just restarts the PC. If booting up normally without pressing f8, a blank screen just comes up after the initial boot up and XP logo screens. Also tried to disable my start up items to see if it might be other software problems/conflicts possibly causing the invalid mode but all that did was cause my PC to give a nasty error that I've had to resolve.

I have Windows XP Pro SP1 and an S/I ATI Rage Fury 32mb/TV cmpl video card. Does anyone know if updating the video card fixes the problem and if so, which driver needs to be installed? Tried searching the net for this problem, the nearest one I found is the thread but it still doesn't answer or help with my dilemma:

Just an FYI for anyone who may be looking at buying a Radeon RX 560 graphics card. Make sure you look at the specs very closely before purchase.

When the Radeon RX 560 first came out, AMD listed the card as having 16 compute units and 1,024 stream processors. Then several months later, AMD launched a cut down Radeon RX 560D SKU in Asia with 14 compute units and 896 stream processors. It was easy to spot the difference because of the slightly different model names, but now some regular Radeon RX 560 cards are shipping with downgraded specs.Heise.de was first to spot the change, noting that several Radeon RX 560 cards in the marketplace are now shipping with only 896 stream processors. It's not clear when exactly that started happening.

Hi, I am building a new computer and I want to go with a dual screen setup. I was wondering if I should go with a GTX 670 2GB GPU or two Sapphire Radeon 7870s. If not specifically these cards, let me know what you think.
Is it better to have a single GPU with dual DVI output or two slightly cheaper GPUs using crossfire?

Answer:Dual Screen, Dual DVI GPU vs. 2 Single DVI GPUs

hi,

The only thing that changes is the graphics performance you will have.
Two Sapphire HD 7870s beat a single GTX 670, but I'm not a Crossfire fan, so I suggest you to get a faster single GPU, because a lot of applications won't use multi-GPU technology.

Answer:AMD officially announces Radeon 300 series graphics cards at E3

Hmm so the rebranded cards didn't get an GCN update to 1.2 which blows

The increase in clock speeds and Vram isn't enough alone.

The sticker says 700W which sounds quite muscular but i can't find a brand name. It has a logo that says ADJ and the model number is CG-ADJ-8

I keep hearing about the importance of 12V rails when analysing how good a PSU really is and what it can handle. Might as well be greek to me so I've written the sticker specs below:

Here is what is written on the PSU:

+3.3V(20A) +5V(30A) +12V1(12A) +12V2(14A)
(130W max)

-5V(0.5A) -12V(0.8A) +5VSB(2A)
(9.6W max) (10W max)

I would very much appreciate any help you can give. I have my heart set on a 1gig radeon hd4870 (with extra cooling).

thanks a lot.

Continued from: This troubleshooting thread
I recently posted a thread asking which video card brands were better than others (support, warrenties, etc...)
Now I need some advice I buying a video card, because my computer's previous Radeon X300 died.
I have a 305 watt, generic Dell PSU.
+5V = 22A
+12VA = 18A
+12VB = 18A
-12V = 1A ?
+3.3V = 17A
+5VSB = 2A ?
combined max 12VA and 12VB = 22A...
Check my sig for the rest of my computer hardware.

I should probably get a new power supply, but my budget can't really support the extra ~$60 for a good Antec, Corsair, or Thermaltake, because I am saving up for a new computer.
My computer has a x16 slot, so I am not looking to upgrade, just a repacement of some type, same power requirements.
After checking around I think my PSU could support a 7200 GS, 8400 GS, Radeon 3450, Radeon 4350, or Radeon 5450.

$30 - GIGABYTE HD 4350 512MB 64-bit
$33 - MSI 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit
$41 - SAPPHIRE HD 5450 512MB 64-bit
$42 - XFX HD 4350 512MB 64-bit
$47 - ASUS HD 5450 512MB 64-bit

These are the cards I have my eye on, any thoughts, opinions?
Please don't laugh at me and tell my to upgrade my computer, I just want to be able to use the computer again with out spending $150+
Thanks

Answer:Trying to decide between a few budget GPUs to replace my dead Radeon X300

An Radeon HD 5450 is the best for the money you want to spend. The ASUS HD 5450 is out of stock so get the SAPPHIRE HD 5450

Hey.

My system has both intergrated graphics and a seperate graphics card. I have two monitors. What i'm aiming to do is create 2 copies of windows 7 on my computer and dual boot them.

The new windows 7 that I install would then run off my internal GPU on one monitor while my current one would continue to use my graphics card. So... how would I go about acheiving this? Thanks!

I'm essentially trying to create a multiseat of sorts.

Answer:Dual boot on different GPUs?

I would imagine you would have one gpu disabled in device manager for one boot and the opposite disabled in the other boot.
Might want to consider a 3rd boot that has both enabled

Hallo, I had a lot of stuttering with my Y700-15ACZ caused by a throttling Radeon R9 M385X while gaming. So i installed MSI Afterburner and activated overclocking for the Mobile Radeon. After that i was able to reduce the clocks with MSI Afterburner for constant framerates.I saw that there was also OverDrive enabled in Catalyst Crimson Edition Control Center. I sniffed for the changes of the registry while applying the settings in MSI Afterburner. There is just one value added to the Registry. You can paste this text into a textfile and save it as .reg file. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

I just installed another graphics card in my computer to run SLI. I changed the motherboard so it runs dual cards, I changed the BIOS to recongnize SLI, (although I could have left it in Auto). I even have the latest drivers for Nvidia.

My motherboard manual says to tick a checkbox in Windows that says Enable Dual-GPUs, but in my window, that checkbox is no longer there. The window doesn't even have the same information as the pictures in the book.

I'm wondering if the later drivers have changed this to be automatic, or should there be the checkbox there still.

My manual shows the window looking like this
□ Enable SLI multi-GPU

Your graphics card features NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI)
technology.

□ Show GPU load balancing

Load balancing will be shown in DirectX and OpenGL applications.

But my window just shows this

Your graphics card features NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI)
technology
Add a second graphics card with SLI technology for significant
improvments in rendering performance.Click to expand...

Answer:Enabling Dual-GPUs in Windows

The graphic cards must be INDENTICAL.

Same brand, and same model.

Example: BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC 256MB must be with ANOTHER BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC 256MB to use SLI.

Also there is a little clip thing that connected both cards which enables SLI.

I have a MSI FX610 laptop, model# MS-16GK, which has dual GPUs that are switchable.

The integrated GPU is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 (RS880M)
The other is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (MSI).

I upgraded to Windows 10 x64 and now for the life of me, I cannot get either GPU to work properly. What I mean is that Windows 10 continues to use the Microsoft Basic Display driver no matter what I seem to try. When I open the Display Settings and click on the Display Adapter Properties link, the Adapter window opens and the Adapter Type is always Microsoft Basic Display Driver. At this point, I don?t even care about switching, I just want one of them to work correctly so I can change the 1024x768 resolution to something higher. Yesterday, I even installed Windows 10 from a clean slate, a fresh clean, custom installation, YET the same problem continues.

Windows downloaded a generic driver for the HD 4200, but it still continues to use the MS Basic Display driver. Oddly, when I checked the drivers for the HD 4200 in Device Manager, it says there are NO drivers installed for this device, YET the fields on the Driver Tab are populated with the driver's details:

AMD has officially unveiled the Radeon R9 Nano today, the company's new performance graphics card that's just six inches long. Featuring a fully-unlocked Fiji GPU, the R9 Nano might just be the perfect card for small form factor and mini-ITX...

Answer:AMD launches the compact Radeon R9 Nano with high-end performance

Sorry AMD! I really really really wanted to buy this card for my new Skylake ITX build. But your performance/price is not nearly good enough. I would have bought this card for +20% (maybe even up to +30% if your hyped performance over 970 were been actually true) of nvidia GTX 970 price, but this +100% now... is just absurd. Sorry.

Hello, i've set up my pc with two monitors using different GPU's. One is mainly for just browsing or watching movies and the other one for gaming so i have a strong primary card and a weaker secondary.

the issue is when i'm starting battlefield or other games as the game somehow tries to start using my older card. and yes i've the stronger card to be used as my primary display, but is there anything else i can do to make the rig recognize that i wanna start games with the primary card?

Using win 8.1 PRO 64bit

Answer:Dual monitor gaming(different GPUS, Nvidia)

I suggest never using your slower card for video, configure it as a physix card or remove it.

I am building a new PC - components arriving over the next week. Going to be an MSI A78M-E45 V2 motherboard with AMD A10-6800K APU, 8 gb Crucial RAM (2x4 gb), and XFX HD-667X-CDFR 2 gb PCIe graphics card. AMD advertises dual GPU capability via Crossfire using both the GPU of the A10 processor and the HD-6670 PCIe card.

Has anyone setup anything like this in Windows 10 before? I'm planning on having to force install the AMD Catalyst 15.7 drivers and Catalyst Control Center, but I hope I can get a success story to boost my hopes!

Thanks!

I'm using a bit older components because I wanted to stay under $300 and it should still be about 4x faster than my current PC.

ok, well here's the problem, ive been trying to max out battlefield 3 at ultra high setting with my comp, (GPU: Dual Ati Radeon 5970's, CPU: Intel i7 920 (overclocked to 3.8ghz), PSU 1200W, OP window 7, Ram: 6gb (1333mhz))
but i im getting extreme lagg, my FPS will randomly drop from 60-70 FPS to 20.. and even tho my FPS is showing me that its at 60 FPS, my gameplay will still be choppy. People are maxing out battlefield 3 with a 3.4ghz processor and a 6950 graphic card (well thats what i saw on youtube). I cant play the Fault line mission (gametrailer of BF3) on campagin mode at max graphics becuase my pc will just spazz out, and ive been recently been getitng this error where a blue screen would pop up and say to prevent internal hardware damage, window is shutting down blah blah blah, and it automatically restarts my pc..SmarteyBall has suggested to get rid of the 5970 becuase these cards are apparently known to cause problem at crossfire mode and told me im better off with 1 gpu. Im not really a computer expert, i dont really benchmark, or any of that stuff, i just like playing my games at ultra high graphics with no lagg. So should i sell both of my 5970's to buy a Ati radeon 6990?

Answer:Should i sell my Dual Ati Radeon 5970's to get 1 Ati Radeon 6990 4gb?

You would be taking a step backwards as your 2 5970's are faster than the 6990. Also you would be trading 2 cards in Crossfire for a single card with 2 GPU's on it that also runs Crossfire.

As far as performance in the game, are you using the 11.10 Preview 3,

Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7

Ive read and seen benchmarks and overclocking of both, and apprently the 5970 will outperform the latter.

Instead it has it listed under devices as unspecified device. How do I make it recognised as a printer! Please help this is doing my head in! I am not computer savvy. Cheers

Answer:Windows 7 and Fiji Xerox Printer

What folders and/or files do you now have from the unzipped downloaded file?

You still have to install the printer's driver.

I have been recently upgraded from Win7 Home x64 to Win 10.
Initially I was planning to quickly roll back to my old good Win 7.
But turned out I like Win10 more than I expected, so decided to make it my main OS from now on and use Win7 (I need it anyway, because of my old printer/scanner not supported by Win 10) as an additional OS in dual boot rig.

My upgraded W10 has been installed on my main 3TB Seagate HDD (with UEFI). I would like to wipe it out and do the clean install of W10 Anniversary edition as soon as ISO of its final version is available.

What I'm going to do next is :
1. remove above mentioned 3TB Seagate HDD from my tower and replace it with my other HDD - 500 GB Samsung.
2. clean install or rather restore from the image Windows 7 on this 500 GB Samsung HDD.
3. while Win 7 is already in place (on Samsung) - add up my main 3TB Seagate HDD with empty OS partition (or should it be an unallocated space ?).
4. Clean install Anniversary edition of Windows10 on it (Seagate) and mark it as my main OS from that time on.

I might have couple of detailed questions later on, but please tell me for now : is this scenario correct ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Please, evaluate my W10 / W7 dual boot project.

That will basically work, but if it was me I would put both OSs on same 500 GB drive and use 3TB drive for data.

Two main reasons

1) boot sectors all reside on same drive as OSs

2) You can image backup 500 GB drive to 3TB drive.

So I would restore image of 7 to 550 GB drive, shrink C drive as much as you want, then install 10 in unallocated space.

I have gotten myself a neoware e140.
It has an VIA 800MHz CPU with 128MB Flash and 128MB DDR2 RAM.

The one I received a spare PCI slot which is occupied by a matrox graphic card Matrox Epica card. It shows up in the System Specs as a TC4 but I think it is a TC2.

It comes with this special adapter which splits into two DVI adapters. Each of these adapters supposedly can drive 2 monitors (I have no clue how).

The box currently has some neoware linux on it.

I want to make a pfsense box out it to have support for a dual WAN setup. I have never dealt with this kind of stuff before and do not even know how to load the OS on the flash etc.

Will be learning as we go. Will appreciate any tips gurus here have.

"Nano" dual sim mobile phone from a Chinese handset manufacturer going by the name Ken Xin Da and the phone is among the tiniest mobile you can find in the market today. The M2, as it's called, may not be super slim, but is tinier than the palm of your hand, tinier than your wallet and in all certainty, tinier than your current phone.
Surprisingly, despite such a small footprint, it boasts of some good features. The phone comes with a company rated talktime of 240 minutes. It supports WAP 2.0 and a couple of audio and video formats, including MP3, MP4, AVI, 3GP.
The M2 comes with a dual-SIM dual standby option, which in that small form factor is a pretty impressive feat on its own. There?s a directional keypad along with a numpad and two call buttons. It comes with a charger, 2GB memory card, microUSB cord and headphones with a warranty period of three months.
The phone is available in a handful of local mobile phone shops and is currently selling at a price tag of Rs.1,200.

I have search for many hours for answers to questions on new Graphics Cards which require 8pin and 6 pin or 8pin and 8pin power connections aside from the motherboard supplied power and what the appropriate method was to connect the GPU cards to the 8 pin pcie power connections. This is complicated by the fact that the Precisions seem to only have 6pin cables installed with the towers regardless of the power supply that is installed.   Yes. Everyone understands hopefully that if you have, for example, a 450 watt power supply ( forget the efficiency aspect of the actual power supply) as I am interested in the mechanics of the  design.
The power supply connects to a PC board, which appears to be called "Power Supply extended card"
Now, looking at the connectors on this extended card, there is a "POWER_VGA1" 8pin connection on this extended card (bottom left black socket).  To this 8pin connector, on my T5600 and seemingly on all the others that have made similar inquiries, we all have a 8pin male connector that fit into the extended card. My 8pin connector has two sets of wires leaving the connector and becoming two 6 pin connectors, one of which 6pin connectors is plugged into my stock Quadro 5000 video card.
OK. So, now most people are wanting to change out the 6pin Quadro card with either an 8pin or 8 pin plus 6pin or 8pin and 8pin graphics card such as a GTX 980TI or GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 or AMDs similar card.

That's the extent of W7's dual/multi monitor management.

You'll require additional software for enhanced functionality I'm afraid.

I have the Radeon 9200SE and by looking at the specs on it it states it has dual monitor capability...same resolution and refresh rate...but the outputs on the back are just one VGA, one RCA, and one S-Video.
How do you hook up a second monitor when there is only one VGA connector? I searche google about converting the s-vid to vga, but naw don't wanna go there...gotta buy some expensive conversion box. Wonder why they would state dual monitor capability and only supply one vga connector?

Thanks,
Blade

Okie dokie. I just bought a Radeon x1600 512mb AGP graphics card today. Came home, installed it, and tried to get the dual monitors goin, seems easy 'nuff right? OH NO. NOT WITH ME. :-/ SO. I did what all the manuals say and go to the display window and settings and extend the desktop over. Then I go into the ATI CCC and make sure its activated there. La-di-da no bueno. So I reboot. Maybe thats what it took right? Well kinda. I started feeling good when both screens came up and started showing all the tests and such of the bios loadin and stuff being detected. However, when it came to the windows login screen the secondary monitor just went black. It didnt power down. Just went black. Says its still getting a signal. I try changin the settings to clone, didnt help. So i rebooted again and the same thing happened. I check to make sure the settings we're still good and active, they're fine. If I switch the display mode so the secondary BECOMES the primary display y'know? Then my original primary shows what SHOULD be on the secondary monitor (no taskbar, no icons) but the secondary monitor (now the primary) still is black. So I cant find anything to fix it!!!! AHH. Also im pretty tech-savvy so don't be gentle . Usually I can figure these things out easily.

Thanks in Advance.

Answer:Radeon X1600 Dual monitor-ing

Same Exact Problem!

I am having the exact same problem. I have a Dell XPS 410 and got this video card from Dell. They won't support it because its not their card. Can't get any help from Vision Tek either - they send you to Dell.

My main monitor is a flat screen digital and my secondary monitor is a flat screen analog. At first I thought it might be that the analog cable just didn't like using the analog to dvi adapter, but after switching the cables around the other monitor went black.

Have tried every possible solution I could think of, but nothing works. If anyone has a fix for this please let us know! I am guessing its a driver issue.

OK, I've got the two monitors hooked up to the splitter cable, I open "personalize" display and it tells me monitor two is "not active".

It does, however, display Monitor 1 as a clone.

How do I activate the second monitor so that when I extend the desktop I can open up windows separately?

Something in the driver configuration I'm missing?

Answer:Dual Monitors in ATI Radeon HD 3200

Follow-up based on some advice here:

In Catalyst, Monitor will enable for 1 second or so and then become disabled again.

I am therefore unable to "extend the desktop" to enable multiple applications as intended.

So where do I go and what do I need in order to permanently engage Monitor 2?

Both are Dell flat screens, FWIW, attached to a Dell Inspiron

If you only want one external screen, then just use the vga port on the left side of the laptop to connect to the external screen.

I currently have the above named graphics card sitting nicely in my desktop connected to my tele through a dvi connection,
i have been having problems to get a picture (be it a clone or dual display) to be shown on the monitor i have recently connected on the vga port, as well as the tv at the same time.
the start up sequence does show on both monitors, yet the monitor goes blank at the desktop, and my tv takesd over from there. any suggestions on how to get a picture on both would be appreciated.
i dont want to have to get a new graphics card, however, if anyone has a suggestion on a dual dvi grpahics card which would clone the display on both screens would be fantastic and i would look in it.

Cheers
Have a good festive season
Oliver

Hey,

I've installed Windows 7 yesterday and only one of my card seems to be working as it is the only one who displays something.

The weird thing is that when I plug a monitor in the DVI port in the other card, I hear that DING song that signals that hardware has been connected but nothing shows up.

Any ideas what could possibly be the problem?

Obviously, the three monitors were working under Vista.

Thank you very much,

jpidoo

Hey guys,

First of all I would like to say hi. Anyways, today I decided to give a try to windows 8. Installation was smooth but the only problem I am having is the color difference between my monitors.

I am using a Dell laptop, and external monitor Philips. At my laptop screen it shows the fish background, and other stuff blue. But my external monitor shows the same fish background as cyan. Same for taskbar.

I checked color profiles, I checked calibration but nothing helped. Win 8 installed all the drivers automatically and it says Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series (Engineering Sample- WDDM v1.20)

I couldn't be sure about the real cause of issue, so I didn't installed the Ati drivers. So what can be the reason for this weird color problem?

Note: Everything is fine on Win7.

Hello, i recently bought AMD Radeon HD 6570 and i was wondering is it possible to set up dual monitors on this graphic card it haves VGA/DVI/HDMI ports, will it work if i connect one monitor to HDMI and other monitor into VGA?

Thanks

Answer:AMD Radeon HD 6570 dual monitors

it will be fine. but youd be best off using hdmi and the dvi port. as sometimes theres issues/driver bugs using an analogue output (vga) as well as a digital (dvi).
but thats just my personal finding. other probably have no issues!

Primary monitor (Sony VG191) has no problem (this model rotates). Secondary monitor (Envision) does not. Tonight, display on Envision appears upside down as does mouse cursor.

Device manager and display settings all indicate no problems. Reboot (cold and warm) did not help.

Switching to primary monitoer only and then back to dual display did not help.

Working fine yesterday. No new programs insatalled. Ideas anyone?

Answer:Dual Display (ATI Radeon 9700 Pro)

If you have your ATI control panel installed as well as the drivers, the settings you need are in there. I think it's labelled "Rotation", but by navigating around in there, you're sure to find what youre looking for

I'm really hoping someone could shed some light on this.

I have one small monitor hooked up through DVI - works fine.

Then I have a Sony Bravia 42" HDTV hooked up through VGA at the same time in extended mode - the screen resolution options dont show 1920x1400, it only goes up to 1600x1200.

I'm using1360x768 now and it works but I have to zoom in on the picture. How I can I get 1920x1400 to show up in the resolution options? Seems like this should be straight forward. Messed around in the ATI Control Center with no luck.

When I had vista installed, hooking up the same TV through VGA was no issue.

Thanks in advance.

Can someone help me with Radeon 7000 dual screen troubles?

My friend's computer fried and he gave me the salvaged VGA card so i can connect my TV to the computer. It has an output for the monitor and second one, a standard yellow wire that goes in the Video input, for my TV.
Skeptical that the card may not even work, i got my 18 inch TV (Lets call it TV-1)out and plugged it with the computer and after driver installation and what not it works perfectly. Now this is where the trouble begins.
The TV (Lets call it TV-2) in our living room (the one i want the computer to connect to) is a good 30 feet away. i bought a 12 feet Composite A/V cable, stripped all the three (Yellow, Red and White) apart and connected them as a single wire using inline connectors. Once i connected it to the graphics card output, it wouldn't give me any display. So i used a shorter (8 feet) wire to connect to TV-1 and once i had the screen, i connected it with the TV-2 cable and it works.
The problem is i cannot turn off my computer now otherwise TV-2 will lose signal again and i would have to bring in TV-1 to jump start the connection.
i am guessing its something to do with power the output wire carries but then why is TV-2 working so beautifully as i am typing this and what can i do to skip the whole jump starting signal part?

Answer:Can someone help me with Radeon 7000 dual screen troubles?

hehe TV's and Computers, it dosent mater witch way you go it always causes problems.

so you ar saying that you used the audio L an R as video extention??, What I dont understand is why you dident just get one long cable.

Your problem is that your video card is not detecting tv-2, it's posibly your dodgey cables, try one long hig quality cable, or maby first move your pc closer to TV-2 and use the cable from TV-1.

hope this helps...

I believe I did everything just right in uninstalling the old vc driver and then installing this new one but all I get is a black screen on the reboot. I can reboot in safemode and the old driver is gone and the new one shows up and "claims" to be working just fine.

I've got XP. Any other info you need?

Please help. I'm anxiously wanting to utilize my two LCD monitors.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi all!

I'm so happy to find this forum!

Just upgraded to windows 7 yesterday night. I have a 17 inch monitor + another 42 inch tv. Would like to set up dual monitor - Able to work on the monitor while my hdmi TV is playing video from the internet.

Is this possible? Please advise!

Answer:Dual Monitor with Radeon 4890. Please advise.

Hi Classy310,

It sure looks possible to me, grab the latest drivers and software from the website, install and plug both monotors in - AMD Support Search.

EDIT: Remember to select the correct edition of the catalyst software for Win7 (32bit or 64bit) depending on your operating system before you download it.

Enjoy

I got a DVI to VGA adaptor today, so i was hoping to run two displays, but when I plug my secondary moniter into the adaptor and then plug the adaptor into my computer it just wont show! (well it lights up and stuff it just does not display anything, in-other-words, a black screen...)

AND... To answer any questions in advance ...
Yes, I know how to use Catalyst to enable and ajust/set my moniter/TV up.

Yes, I did everything the help center, and other people have told me too do.

Yes, I have the latest version of Catalyst (7.9).

Yes, I have tested the moniter that won't work as secondary on this computer by plugging it in to my VGA port on my card and making it my primary moniter . (YES it worked)

Yes, I know my max settings (Refresh and Resolution) of the secondary moniter and have set them to what they need to be.

And lastly! Yes, Catalyst does find the moniter (It just won't display a picture...)

And, of course, here are the important specs:

Intel Stinkeron D, 3.33ghz... (oh I mean Celeron D )
ASRock 775i65g Mobo...
ATI Radeon 9550(SE): 256 MB... (and if you are too lazy to look it up it does support duel displays and has 1 VGA, 1 DVI, and 1 S-Vid port)
1.5GB of ddr400 RAM...

Thanks in advance,

Macc:wave:

Hi,

We are having problems on a Dell Vostro 230 desktop with dual monitors with Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card.

Dual Boot (2 HDS) 32bit and 64bit Windows 7.

2 Monitors connected to the card:

- Monitor 1 LCD 20" Monitor via DVI lead (set as Main in windows & ATI Catalyst Control Center). This is only Monitor 1 when the HDMI is not connected.

- Monitor 2 is via HDMI and this is a 22" TV. Monitor 2 is not always turned on but this monitor controls monitor 1 depending on the setting in Windows Screen Resolution option (right click on desktop).

Problems:

1) When I connect the HDMI lead the main monitor that should be 1 (DVI), now becomes monitor 2 and the HDMI TV takes over as Monitor 1. Although in ATI Catalyst Control Center the DVI remains as monitor 1 like it should.

Does this suggest that Windows is controlling the Graphics Card / ATI Catalyst Control Center and not vice versa.

Q: Is there a way for the ATI Catalyst Control Center to take full control and control Windows Screen Resolution settings so the HDMI monitor will remain as monitor 2 at all times when connected?

2) Because the HDMI TV takes over as Monitor 1, it controls what I can and can't do with the DVI main monitor. For example I have to keep the desktop as extended or my monitor turns off and the desktop and icons moves over to the HDMI TV.

Please detail any fixes or things we can try. Totally lost and perplexed.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Ian
