Unable to access ONE website on any computer/device on my entire network.

Question: Unable to access ONE website on any computer/device on my entire network.

Hi, I'm having an issue with connecting to ragezone.com

On January 17 09, I was viewing this site and when I refreshed it said
Firefox can't find the server at www.ragezone.com.

-This also did not work on Internet Explorer
I checked other sites and they all worked.
I then pinged sites as yahoo.com, google.com, facebook.com .. and I received 4 pings from them each. I pinged ragezone.com and it said 'Ping request could not find host.'

I went to all the other computers on my network, and they could not go to ragezone.com either.

So, I reset my router manually by it out and waiting awhile and putting it back in. This also did not resolve the problem.

Also, my firewall is not on.

Preferred Solution: Unable to access ONE website on any computer/device on my entire network.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Today, my roommate apparently used my laptop without my knowledge, trying to "make my wireless network more secure" (or so he says.) In the process,he completely destroyed said network (so much for making it more secure) and I ended up not being able to use it at all.

After a call to tech support at my ISP, I was able to get it up and running again. I can access my email, use my P2P program, and access every website I've tried, except for one specific site. When I try to access that particular one, I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error page, and when I try to investigate further by clicking the "Diagnose Connection Problems" button, what comes up is "[This website] is not set up to establish a connection on port "World Wide Web" (HTTP)" with this computer."

I have never seen this error message before, and I was able to access this particular website with absolutely no problems, right up until this afternoon when my roommate fooled with my wireless connection. And, as I said, I can access every other website I want, just not this one. Could it be simply a matter of the server being busy/unavailable, or could there still be something screwy with my wireless network?

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Using my Windows 7 computer, I am unable to access Northern Brewer Home Beer Brewing Kits, Supplies & Equipment The page contentiously loads. I am able to load it using Ubuntu, or Windows XP on different computers. The Windows 7 computer is able to load in if I use ASUS Express Gate before Windows 7 loads. I have checked the hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ and tried changing DNS servers. I have flushed the dns cache, using ipconfig /flushdns. I have tried using Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Safari, none will work. I have also deleted all cookies, history, cache on them, still no luck. I have done full system scans using Microsoft Security Essentials, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I have also checked for root kits using combofix, all reported a clean system. I haven't noticed this problem with other websites, and have tried contacting the owners, but they have no ideas. This is a website I regularly use, and would prefer to access on this computer since the others are a server and htpc.

Three win 98 computers together in one room( school) but one of these computers can only access the other two instead of accessing entire network - How do I go about fixing this?

Thanks (new to networking)

Answer:access to entire network

first, check to make sure that all 3 computers have the same network protocols installed, usually tcp/ip, but some will tell you to use netBEUI or other protocol, if there differences in protocols, change it, and make sure all have the exact same... for tcp/ip, (which i recommend being the only one on all 3) you need to check the properties to make sure all 3 have different ip addresses, such as 10.0.0.x where x is 1,2,3 etc.
more details on the computers especially network cards, would also be helpful

Hello, today I discovered a problem with my computer and my home network.

I have 4 computers networked through my Belkin F5d7231-21 Wireless G Plus router using a Motorolla Surfboard modem. In the past I have had no problem sharing folders and whatnot between the 4 but today when I tried sharing a folder with this computer I was unable to access my MSHOME network. The other 3 computers are able to interact with eachother just fine, and my computer is even listed in their workgroup. When I try to access the workgroup from the non functional computer I get a message saying "Mshome is not accessible". Although I am still able to access the internet on this computer, it is a little annoying not being a part of my network. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Edit: Let me just add that in my System menu under the Computer Name tab is says I am a part of the MSHOME network.

One of my computers I cannot access the folders. I can view the drives and see all the folders it has, but I am unable to look in those folders. Whether I am using simple file sharing or normal file sharing, I cannot access these folders. This all happened after I switched from Simple File Sharing to normal file sharing.

Both computers have XP SP2.

I've had this problem before and my fix for it was reinstalling XP, but I don't want to do that if I don't need to.

Please read the entire thread. Thanks.

Answer:Unable to access network computer's folders

It's a permissions thing. Right click on the folders (from their host machine) and go to Security and Sharing (might be in Properties; been a while since I've used XP). Enable read permissions for Everyone.

Trying to get a client set up on Fios, but it's taking forever for Verizon to get their act together and get the fiber line into the building, so with the rest of the internal network already set up and configured, I'm looking to use an ipad with cellular access as a temporary solution.

If I set up a laptop to connect to the hotspot provided by the ipad, then connect it to the LAN, I can set up the internet connection sharing on the laptop to allow access to the internet, but I'm curious if anyone has done this before, and if so, how were the internet speeds?

We're looking at anywhere from 40-50 devices on the network at one time.

BY THE WAY.... WHAT IS PX CD ROM??

Answer:Want to format my entire computer.... but unable to do so

How are you attempting to format the computer.?Why are you attempting to format the computer? What are the system specs of the computer? What is the exact error message? I'll bet is is something about PXE and not PX CD ROM.That error message usually means that the BIOS is unable to locate a bootable disk or drive locally and is attempting to boot to a network drive. No network bootdrive is found and the error message is displayed. This may mean your hard drive has failed or that it has been wiped and no longer contains bootfiles. We aren't mindreaders. I got a trojan the other day that installed a spyware program called Spy Sheriff. There was much cursing and swearing, but after my trusty version of AntiVir as well as a plethora of spyware programs I managed to clean the system of all viruses and spyware as far as I know.

My troubles didn't end for long. Next I got a (fairly common) problem where it says "services.exe has caused an error. Error code 203. Rebooting your computer in 1 minute" or something along those lines. I googled a bit and found that this is often associated with registry keys not matching your actual network setup. Anyhow, I ran a registry cleaner program and THAT problem seemed to go away.

Now however, my network is all messed up.

My setup is as follows: Two home computers plugged into a router that is hooked up to my DSL modem. One computer is called Office, the other is called Bedroom.

The printer is hooked up to Office, and is shared. Both computers have a few shared folders that the other can access.

After I ran the cleaner, Bedroom is no longer visible on the network. Office can't see it in the workgroup, and I can't access any shared folders. I CAN ping both computers using the IP addresses, but each computer can't ping the other using the computer's name. Each computer can ping itself using both its own IP and name.

Here's an interesting thing I just found too; when I open my computer as it should appear on the network by typing \\Bedroom\ into the ad... Read more

I am having a problem getting a single static IP computer up and going with a dynamic system on the other 8. This computer needs to be visible to those on the WAN and LAN. It is running Win2k with a clean format and the most current service packs. I started to believe that it was my settings, till I got another CPU down there. With the exact same settings, this computer worked perfectly. I have replaced the network card in this computer, and have removed all hardware except a mouse, keyboard, monitor, and NIC. The strange thing is when I plug this computer into the network, it not only does not work, but proceeds to bring down the rest of the network as well! As soon as I unplug it, POOF, everything works again. The only thing I can think of at this point that is different about this machine, is that it does have a hardware switch, for switching 2 cpu's between 1 monitor. Could this be a problem? Or, (and this is what I am beginning to believe), that computers are inherently evil and should be banished forever...

Answer:One computer shutting down entire network.

We have a wireless network set up at home which has 3 computers (laptops) on it. We use a Netgear router. Everything was ok until I had changed my computer. I went from a gateway with windows XP to a HP with windows 7.

While everything used to be ok and I could surf the web while my husband played online. Now everytime I surf the web, it keeps kicking him out of his game.

When Im not on the computer and he is just on his everything is fine. But once I get on my computer his internet connection stops working properly.

If anyone can tell me what can be the issue in this case it would be great.

Im thinking I need to change something on my computer but I dont know what??

Answer:one computer slowing down entire network....

Well, I think we'll probably have to do some looking at what's happening on the computer.

Are you wired or wireless with these machines? If wireless, have you tried a wired connection to see if that changes the situation?

Hello folks. I looked through a bunch of threads on the forums but none of the solutions provided in any of them seemed to solve my problem. Within in the last few weeks, the wireless internet on my desktop PC has become agonizingly slow. I've not found any malware or viruses on any scans I've run. I thought it was my adapter, but I swapped it out for a PCI card and it's not any better. My laptop has no connection problems, even when I stand in precisely the same spot as my desktop is, so I doubt it's the wireless signal.

I've provided a HJT log. If I can provide any more information that would be help, let me know. Thanks very much in advance!

Answer:restarting 1 computer brings down the entire wireless network!

Ok, so let me get this straight, you are using a wireless router without any sort of switch/hub, correct? Is your "hub" your pc (1 incoming ethernet, 1 outgoing?) If so, that is probably part of the problem, try getting a small switch and plugging the router into that and see if that helps.

Sorry, its 2:35AM and I am only thinking at about 20% right now hehe.

Hi to all

I am having an issue and need some help please. Earlier today I was given admin access to a website to assist with some forums there. I was told to enter my username and a password (given by site for admin access ) then enter my normal user/password details.

I did this there was a pop up to be filled I believe called iexplorer and I completed the necessary. However I got a message stating unauthorised access. When I attempted to log in as normal to the site(I use Norton to store passwords etc) I was unable to access the site, I am able to access other sites(one or two are stating my password is wrong had no issue before and norton self fills all my saved sites)with no problems.

I use IE but have tried chrome still no joy, I have cleared cache etc flushed dns no joy.

I have been able to access the website using my mobile phone roaming data away from home, but if I use my home network I am unable to connect.

Any help is appreciated
oh I have checked Norton isn't blocking the site and it is set to allow so I am stuck

Answer:Unable to access a particular website

You need to talk to the person who owns the website. Most likely you need to install special Client Software for the server that they are using.

A friend of mine has a curious problem with a fairly new machine.

Using Internet Explorer he's unable to get at the web site www.collectorcartraderonline.com although they were once able to!

For about a week since the machine was set up (in early June) he could get on the site and since that time, it doesn't look as if anything particular has been loaded onto the machine. No new fixes or anything of that nature.

I've checked things like Java being installed and it looks OK. I've restored the system to earlier times (like when we believe it WAS able to connect to the site) but no joy.

I've looked through the various patches which have been applied but the only one which seemed connected in any way was Q831167 so I tried removing it but to no avail.

I've tried with different browsers (firefox and Netscape) and all produce the same result... it says it can't find the site.

It's not being misspelled. I tried getting at it via a link on another site (www.classiccarslasvegas.com) but still no joy.

I've looked through security and similar settings and have run out of ideas.

It's the only site that we can find that shows this problem and using http://www.dnsstuff.com/ I am able to ping it and traceroute it.

Has anybody got any ideas? Has anyone seen anything like this before? What is so special about this one site?

Oh yes, the environment is XPhome running IE6.

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me out. I am unable to access the site www.afford.com (alternatively afford.com or 24.249.218.80).

We have two other computers in the house using the same router and security software (verizon) and they can get to it just fine using Firefox, but my main computer cannot. We are all running XP. Tried using both IE and Firefox tp see if it made a difference. Firefox loads a blank page and IE just says the page in unavailable.

I tried several things based on advice I saw in other searches, including clearing all the temp files, resetting the DNS, doing a netsh winsock reset, setting the firewall to see it as a trusted site and specifying that it could send cookies (though I don't know if it needs to). Host file only lists the default that comes with the system (local host). Also disabling the firewall does nothing. None of these measures has been necessary on the other computers and they display the site just fine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I need to use this site to pay my son's monthly college bills and it would be much more convenient to do it from the computer where I do my bookkeeping.

COuld it be a problem with some cookies/internet settings or anyother sort of problem? I could access a couple of days ago. The error i am receiving is:-

The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

Hi everyone

I am looking for help solving this problem if anyone can be so kind as to help!
The site in question is www.modelmayhem.com which I have been using daily on a desktop machine for over 4 years but since last weekend I have been unable to access it with any of the 3 browsers I have installed - IE9, Chrome and Firefox 10.2 the later being the one I was using before and since the problem arose. The error message I get on Firefox is "Connection was reset) ie timeout and inaccessible.

The computer is connected to the internet via a Ethernet cable plugged into a wireless router which in turn is into a modem. Using my Windows phone 7 I am able to access the site via the wireless router which I have assumed means that there is no problem with my isp etc.

I was running Eset, Superantispyware and Malwarebytes non of which found any problems, and I have since un-installed them in case one of them was the cause. I have also searched all files and the registry for any occurrence of the site in both text form and its ISP number I have since installed the latest version of Eset again.

I cannot ping the site but as it isn't possible for a ping from websitenotworking.com to get a result it may well be due to the site admin have measures to prevent a ping. The site is however accessible via websitenotworking.com.

I have run CC cleaner, flushed the dns cache etc all to no avail, and I think I have tried all of the suggestions I have found in other ... Read more

Answer:Unable to access a website

Just thought I would let the MajorGeeks community know that I have finally resolved my own dilemma regarding access to a particular website after some troubleshooting. I'm posting the solution in case someone else out there has encountered a similar problem.

I use Internet Explorer7 with Yahoo7 (latest updates) and it appears this browser was (for an unknown reason) blocking my access to the website in question. After enabling the Firefox/Mozilla browser I found I can now access the website using either the website's IP address or URL!

Yeeehaaa!!!!

I can now continue using Internet Explorer7 for everything else (because I like all the tools on it) and flip over to Firefox whenever I need access to this other troublesome website.

Cheers

I hooked up an HP Deskjet 820Sce to Computer #2 on the network in the "Community Center" where I live. As I mentioned before, there are 10 computers all together on the network.

Now, I hooked it up with a parallel cable (to the parallel (printer?) port) to the computer. #2 is hooked up to the rest of the network, so in theory I should be able to get the rest of the computers to print to the 820Sce, right? I just need to know how, and so I need your help .

Now, there is a LaserJet hooked up to the network, but it's hooked up right into the "central port" (i don't know what it's called) into which all the computers are hooked. So, I can print to the Laserjet since it's hooked up directly to the network.

But the 820 I can't. Because it's only hooked up to #2. That's why I'm eager to find out how to make it printable from the rest of the computers.

And also, there are two scanners that are hooked up to two different computers, but aren't usable on the entire network. I might be able to make them usable on the " " once I find out how to get the printer to work on the " ". Thanks everyone.

I hope maybe you have some ideas to clear up this problem. The reason this is a real problem is that the website that cannot be accessed is the family's nonprofit foundation.

Two computers connected to a linksys router. One computer running xp and wired directly. The other computer running vista and connected via wireless network. Neither computer is able to access pimamotorsportspark.com.

I have deleted all the browser history and links. I have run ipconfig /flushdns. I have even moved them over to OpenDns.

Now the really interesting part. Their son comes over and connects his laptop to the router via the wireless network; and he is able to go right to the website.

I have run out of ideas. Any thing to try would be appreciated.

Hi,

First posting this and completely new to me but if anyone is able to help I will be very grateful. My problem is similar to that posted my nvmar in September but I'm not technical enough to follow all of the advice. Problem is that I can no longer access a specific website - bbc. Was never a problem until now. Thought it might be blocked for some reason but can access from another computer. Have run virus scan (Norton) and Ad-aware and removed what little came up - didn't look anything serious, restarted computer but problem still exists. Help please.

Answer:[SOLVED] Unable to access bbc website

Either a coincidence or this website is truly remarkable - just tried accessing the website again and no problem - it works! Don't know what was the problem so if anyone is still able to comment it would help. Will certainly keep this website in my favourites.

I hope there is some expert here that can figure this one out. I have tried everything.

The website is www.streamingradioguide.com

I am unable to access it through Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera.

I am able to access it if I go into my AOL program and use the Explorer that comes with that.

I am able to ping the website, and changing the DNS server doesn't help at all.

I can't access it by using the http://64.202.100.247 directly either, unless I go into the AOL program.

I have checked the Host file, and nothing is wrong with it either. Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer:Unable to access one specific website

I got the answer to my own question. The website blocked me out because I have AVG antivirus, and it checks each web link for safety.

The website blocks those kinds of site out.

Answer:Unable to access one particular website from home

Hi deb_chow,

That reads like a DNS issue: your ISP DNS server isn't giving the route. Try setting your router to use the OpenDNS servers instead, if you choose to sign up (there are additional filtering settings and more you can use) there's a free version. I'm able to access other websites so far but one keeps redirecting me to a cloudflare captcha page, and the captcha won't load.

I am able to access the same website on the same network using my mobile phone. I already ran AdWare Medic and it came up with nothing. Cleared cache and restarted. Still won't let me access the page or see the captcha.

Help please?

Incidentally, I received this error from Firefox when I was clearing the cache:
Script:chrome//browser/content/sanitize.js:206

I thought I was running Firefox, why is it saying Chrome?

Thanks in advance!

The error you're getting is generated by the website's server. It has nothing to do with your computer. It has to be solved by those who maintain the website.

I am unable to access a single website. eharmony.com

I was able to via DSL but just switched to cable (optimumonline). The curious bit is that I have a router and didn't change any settings.

Using the wired connection I am unable to connect now, but if I remove the router I can connect. Previously I had no problem with this router in place.

I have this issue with all browsers. Also, if I open up AOL software (full version), I can then access the website without a problem with any browser.

It seems as if the combination of the cable modem and router is causing the problem as the DSL modem and router worked fine, and the Cable modem without the router works fine. I was told TCP ports 443 and 80 need to be open and according to windows they are.

Other than that I'm lost at present and I'm getting the run around from the companies.

Hello. I have a problem recently where this website I try to browse to for an online Madden video game league simply will not load. I can access it and use the forum just fine on my phone via cellular connection, or even other WiFi networks. But my phone on my WiFi and either of my computers wired into my router, it never allows me access.

I have FIOS and an Actiontech WI424WR router. Every other website works just fine. I have logged into the router and checked every setting I can think of.. firewall, parental controls, access/deny lists, website blocking, nothing looked out of the ordinary. I cannot even ping the website. I also did a complete reset of my router this morning, same issue. Any ideas?

For the last week I have been unable to access my banks website. However, I can access it's sister investing site and log in there. I can also access Paypal and Ebay. The link at the investors site to the bank's site gives me the same errors. I have tried a number of times every day since April 28th and receive the same errors. I called the bank's help line and they were unable to find any problems at their end. I have also had a few "serious system errors" in the past few days that reboot the computer but with no loss of data that I can find. I have been using EXCEL from Office 2003 in the past week but no other programs that I don't use regularly. I don't use EXCEL much at other times. Hi everyone,It is in some desperation that I have been directed here via various search engines, in order to ask a question with regard to a particularly annoying problem I have. For a couple of months now, I have been unable to access the forum on a particular 'flight simming' website (captainsim.com).  I used to be able to access it just fine, but one day, all of sudden, I was presented with a 'page cannot be displayed' message.  The forum on the website in question, uses a '.info' address...'www.captainsim.info/forum', I soon discovered that the only other part of the website that I can't access is their online store, which not suprisingly happens to also use the .info address.  Just as a sort of test, whilst messing around with addresses, I typed in www.captainsim.com/forum, and was presented with a test forum from the website.  If nothing else, this did at least seem to confirm that the part of the address that is being rejected is the '.info'.I have tried adding the forum address to my trusted sites, deleted all cookies and cleared internet cache etc, disabled firewall, all with no success. If anyone could offer me some advice on why all of a sudden I have been unable to access this part of the website in question, and what I may do to solve the problem, I would be most appreciative.  I hasten to add that it is just me with this problem, I have discovered that others can access the forum in qu... Hi Guys,

Simple issue: Paypal.com won't load on any device connected in my home, pc, laptop, mobile phone etc.

This can only lead me to believe it's a router realted issue though I can't seem to find a solution. I've factory resetted the router, changed it for a new one etc. and still paypal.com is unaccessable.

If I run a 'cmd' ping test on the URL, it attempts four connections and fails. The windows host files are fine and I've tried turning of all firewalls, anti-viruses, malwares for a short time to test. Still fail.

Does anyone know a solution I can try?

Here's my situation:

I cannot access the website facebook.com with any browser on my computer. I can however access login.facebook.com, university.facebook.com etc... as well as any other web page in the world. Any browser that I use will have this problem. It is not the internet provider because I have had 2 (in 2 different countries) and the problem persists.

I never had this problem before, but started to notice this after I installed a free firewall around 6 months ago. (yeah dumb mistake on my part) I uninstalled it after a day and luckily there were no viruses.

It seems to me that the firewall didn't completely uninstall correctly and something is left over that prevents me from ever going on the site.

Tried reverting registry to a previous saved copy but to no avail.
There are also no additional exe's that im aware of that might belong to the firewall running.

so basically:
This problem is localized on my computer and is independent of browsers and isps. I can use facebook, but anytime when I am redirected to the main directory facebook.com/...., it will show "this page cannot be loaded". I do not have any viruses or malware whatsoever and keep my system clean. Also it's been 6 months and if it were a virus, then it sucks.

please help, this problem is driving me nuts! if you use facebook, then you'd know that this means I can't add any apps and lose certain key functionality with the site.

Answer:Problem with Network - Unable to ping Gateway and beyond, unable to access files

Make sure your IP addres is on the same subnet as the other PC's and the default gateway should be your router. Also check your Domain it should match everyone elses to be able to file share. At tthe command prompt type

ipconfig /all

Do this on you PC and one that is working and post it here.

At my company, we have some website that has this random ip address and I noticed that we can't access from outside though we can access it from inside the company.

Why is that so? Is it a firewall that is blocking it or what's going on so that I can't access it?

Answer:Network website, how do I access it?

In short?

It's that way because they don't want people outside of the company to access the data.

As for how, they could do it a couple of different ways. One of the simplest would be blocking inbound connections on the firewall or the IP address might be a non-routable internal address.

Hi there,

I have the good old problem of not being able to access a website (times out) whereas everyone else not on my network can. No device on my network can access the site, be it linux, windows or android, and I've tried multiple machines. My friends can access it, I can access it on free wifi, so clearly my network at home just can't get to it for whatever reason.

It's been more than 48 hours, and I need this website for work. What can I do? I live in an apartment complex.

I have three computers networked, all Win98, no shared DSL or anything, and it all worked for a long time. Then over about a week, it all slowed down to a crawl, and computers stopped being able to see each other at all (strangely, it was NOT sudden). Bought a new hub, didn't help. I spent about 2 hours this evening opening windows and doing "stuff"---deleted a few unused protocols, clients, etc.

Now, when I open "network neighborhood" and click on "entire network", computer A says A, B, and C are all on the network. Computers B and C both say that just B and C are on the network, neither can see A. I can use A to move files to B or C, but I can't go to B or C and get files from A (B & C just say A isn't there). B and C can talk to each other, and the speed is back up to the old days.

Any ideas how to get B and C back with the program? Unfortunately, A is the important one with all the useful files.

I am unable to access a specific website from my Linksys E1200 router. The Linksys router is able to access every other website that I tried except for this one particular website. I am able to ping the website just fine, but cannot access the site. I narrow it down to the router since every computer connected to the router is unable to access the specific website, but when I changed to my other router, I'm able to access the specific website. Any ideas?

Edit to add: I've tried disabling the firewall...powering down router for a while...tweaking the MTU setting. I'm totally at a lost on what could be the problem.
