Question: Outlook 2010 Receiving Blank Emails

I have tried to resolve the issue by following the advice in another thread here but that hasn't worked.

It's not every email so it is not a consistent problem. However as it is to a help desk email address that I use for running tech support for a client it isn't looking good when I have to keep asking them to resend time after time!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Since last week I have not being receiving emails. My email is configured to be able to receive incoming mails for my gmail account and work account. On my ipad and iphone the emails show when coming through for both accounts however on my Outlook they do not show.

Once you have downloaded your messages on one device, and that device is configured to "delete messages on server after downloading", they won't exist anymore to download them on a different device or application. They can only be dowloaded one time.

Derek:I would like to redirect this question to you since you helped me so much once before and I got great results. I have a new Dell i7 Computer with Windows 7 on it. We loaded Outlook 2010 on it and things went fine for a few days, but now I cannot receive or send emails. Could you please tell me what I can do to solve this problem. I have a new Dell running Windows 7 and have installed Office 2010. Initially I had no problems with Outlook in receiving emails, but was unable to import my previous emails from my Office 2007 on my old Dell running XP. So I used the Windows Easy Transfer method to transfer from my old Dell to my new one. All my old emails are now in Outlook 2010, but by 2010 settings changed and emails no longer arrive in their individual email address folder. I thought I had fixed this, but all my emails for each of my 5 email addresses are arriving in the Inbox, as well as their individual email folder. But worst of all, despite deleting emails I don't want, every time I open Outlook and the Send/Receive runs, I am now receiving all the deleted emails back again. So today I apparently received 141 new emails! Help! I have searched the Microsoft website but can't see a solution, and their only support option apparently will cost 199 - considering both the software and computer are less than a month old, I feel I should be able to get support from Microsoft, but since it doesn't seem to be an option, I am hoping someone in the Helproom can help. Thanks.

I thought I was making progress in changing over my email from an old laptop to a new Windows 7 laptop. However, I've got it all set up and it shows it is sending and receiving emails, but nothing shows up. Where are they? I've got the email account set up identical to the older laptop so that's not the problem. I've checked on the Microsoft Answers website and that is just a BIG joke!!!! Maybe I should just go back to my old laptop? Thanks for any help you can give me.

If you can see the subject of Outlook's emails but not the message content, you may want to try this. It worked for me.

File >> Options >> Mail >> Stationary and Fonts >> Font...>> Set Font Color to Automatic >> Uncheck all boxes >> OK

Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 OS just stopped receiving emails. Did not make any changes prior to this. Set up email account several times with tech dept, but it will not work. They gave up. Set it up on partners computer and it works. Same settings on mine and it does not.Ran virus scan-nothing. Shiut down firewall-nothing! No clue what to do. Deleated half of emails-nothingPlease help

I have taken delivery of my lovely new Dell Inspiron i5 and have installed Office 2010. However, although I have set up my email addresses (4 of them), hardly any emails are arriving in my Inbox. I even sent one from work to my main email address and copied it to the others, and it only arrived on my main email address. I know I have received emails as I have checked using the Talk Talk My Account email access, and there are loads there. It has been suggested that it could be the anti-virus/security settings, but I can't see where it is stopping them. The computer arrived with a month's subscription to McAfee which I intend to stop using after the month when I will install Avast. Any help would be appreciated.
Whilst on the topic of my new computer, it has arrived with a bog standard keyboard which I hate (the keys are too close together for someone who touch types!). On my old Dell I had a lovely multimedia keyboard. I have bought a keyboard adapter so that it can be plugged in to a USB port, however, I am unable to type anything. Any help appreciated as I don't want to buy a new keyboard.

With regard to the keyboard, USB keyboards have a USB plug hard wired and may be supplied with an adapter to use with a PS/2 port. However, a PS/2 keyboard won't necessarily function when plugged into a USB port (via an adapter).
In Outlook, have you set up four separate accounts for your four different email addresses? If the addresses are actually "aliases" for one TalkTalk account, you may have to use four separate Usernames to retrieve messages for the alias accounts.
For example, if your main account login is "username" or "username(at)talktalk.com", you may need something like these for the alias accounts:
andy(at)username.talktalk.com
bob(at)username.talktalk.com
charlie(at)username.talktalk.com
...if that makes sense.

Has anybody solved this issue? It seems to be pervasive (many people have similar problem in a Google search) but I can't get a straight solution from anybody, anywhere.

2 users on my PC - both getting some blank emails.
All other email functions are working properly.

Blank emails are totally blank - Subject:, From:, To;, Message: ...all fields are blank - nothing but the date and time. Looks like I get one every 1-2 hours and about a dozen per day.

I have been afraid to open them, but if I do open one it is just totally blank. If I reply to it, there is no address in the TO: field.

Please help!

I am dealing with multiple users having issues after updating and cannot connect to a pop3 server due to unsupported encryption type. I uninstall the update kb3176492, kb3172605, or KB2868725 and it can connect again. can this be narrowed down to something
besides the generic response of telling mail admin to fix the server. it works fine before these updates. what are they changing?!

I faced some weird issues with that Outlook 2010 :-

1-In Sent Items .. some days disappeared and if i restart it ,, the disappeared days show up and other days disappeared and sometimes some sent emails from one day disappear .. Weird huh

2-Blank emails .. with subject only .. i Disabled ( Add-ins ) - (Anti-Spam ) - ( Scan Mail ) i thought it might be a AV problem which i am using Bit-Defender Business Client .. hmmm sometimes i work well sometimes it won't work .. Weird

3- the pst path .. i have one Client got this problem whenever i open his outlook it gives me error message says : the current location for the pst file can not be open .. after two times it work and sometimes after few times .. even if the path is the right path but whatever to Outlook 2010

Greetings I am currently running exchange 2010 and office 2010. Using outlook 2010, some of the emails i receive are blank. Is there a fix or do i need to configure something. I have turned off av for the email portion yet still having same issue. OS is windows 7 professional. Any help would be much appreciated...

Hi All,
This issue is being faced by many people as i read their post. Tried to follow the things mentioned but still the problem persists

We are 6 people in an organization using outlook 2010 with a POP3 setup. Recently we started getting blank emails (NO from, to, subject and body). Date and time is shown and at times there is a valid attachment also.
Other times we get same email multiple times (around 20-25 times) from any one of the 6 people.

We have Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 2015 working on the 6 systems. No signs of infections on the system.
I will be scanning the computers for viruses/malwares.

I would like to know why is this happening and what can be done to stop this from happening.

Someone else had this issue but their thread was closed with no answer posted on the forum. I have recently upgraded to Outlook 2010 from Outlook 2000. I am running Windows XP SP3. I am familiar with the proper way to exchange digitally signed and encrypted emails and have done it for a long time and it always worked fine on Outlook 2000. Since upgrading to Outlook 2010, I get no error message and neither do the recipients of my emails, however, the emails that I receive have no text in the body of the emails. I If the email is only signed and not encrypted, I can read the body of the email on my blackberry though, therefore, I know the text is there. If on my computer (and therefore on my outlook 2010) the body is blank. An encrypted email is unreadable on my blackberry.

I am NOT running Outlook Exchange and that is the only information I can find on the web. It is too bad that the other gentleman asking the same question in January 2011 did not post the solution to his problem on this forum, or maybe he never got a solution? Hope someone can help me. Thanks-

Hello,

I Recently upgraded several XP sp3 workstations from Outlook 2000 to 2010. When receiving an email with a digital certificate from a existing sender the contents of the email are blank but also get no certificate error messages. Email correspondence before with Outlook 2000 on same PCs was fine. Any help in this matter will be much appreciated.

Hello I am a noob and cannot find a similar issue online to what I'm experiencing. Any help will be appreciated. I am running windows 7 home on a dell PC, with Microsoft Office 2010. I have a newer cannon flatbed scanner that I utilize to send docs. I have been scanning and emailing docs for the better part of a year without issue until recently. When I scan a doc, then attach it to an OE email, then type some information in the body of the email and hit send, everything goes through and the attachment and email are delivered, EXCEPT...the body of the email is blank. Everything I type in the body of the email is deleted only when I attach a .pdf doc. Again this setup has been working fine without issue for over a year, just all of the sudden it started happening.

Hello everyone

I recently installed Outlook 2010 and I have got the following strange problem and I was wondering
whether anyone else had the same problem and found a solution.

Whenever I print an Outlook email, the pages come out in reverse order (page 2 then page 1) with a blank cover page which sometimes has "Microsoft Outlook - memo style OUTLOOK.EXE" printed
on the middle of it, and a blank sheet between each page of the message.

It only happens with Outlook. Printing is normal with Word, Excel, etc.

Any suggestions, please?

In Outlook please go to File - Print, highlight Memo Style, then click Print Options button above. In a new window Print, hightlight Memo Style again. Click Define Styles... In a new window, make sure that Memo Style is hightlighted and click RESET button.

If this wont help, click Edit button in the same window, and make sure all the parameters make sense and are correct (page size, etc.)

A number emails I have received are appearing with a blank email body on Outlook 2010. When I check my email using Webmail or with my Blackberry, I can see the complete message, but it does not appear on Outlook. I know there are a lot of other users having this issue, and I have searched for hours on the internet trying every suggestion I could find, but none of them have worked. Here's what I have tried so far:
Changed font in "stationery & fonts" --> composing and reading plain text messages --> from "Automatic" to black.
Completely removed Antivirus (both with Windows - remove program and with McAfee tool to remove virus software)
Started Outlook in safe mode - message still appears blank (even when I re-send from webmail)
Did a "clean re-boot", message still appears blank (even when I re-send from Webmail)
Archived messages over 1 year old, still appears blank
added "SaveAllMIMENotJustHeader" to regedit
Created new Outlook profile - message still appears blank

This has happened in the past with at least 2 different senders. I have re-sent myself the email using webmail (moving to another folder, then back to inbox, thne hitting "send & receive" again) and every time the message still appears blank, even though I can see the full message using webmail. I can't figure out what the problem is. Can anyone help me?!

Hello. I use Microsoft Outlook to read my personal emails and my business emails. My ISP is Charter Communications, and my business email account is set up through Make-A-Store's Qmail. Last Friday it started taking 10-12 hours to receive business emails, today I received a few emails sent 36 hours ago, and some business emails I am not receiving at all. I sent some emails from my personal account to my business account and some I received 12 hours later while others were never received (and those returned emails came with an error message stating the destination computer could not be found).

I spoke with Charter and they said it would be a Microsoft Outlook issue. My personal account (which does not use Qmail, just Charter) seems to be working fine, and I can SEND emails from my business account, it's just receiving them that is the issue. My incoming mail uses the account set up through Qmail, while my outgoing mail uses Charter. I have two computers in two different locations that receive the business emails, both using Qmail/Charter/Outlook, and I neither is receiving the business emails (or receiving them 12+ hours later).

Thinking through it and as I write it out, it seems that it would be a Qmail issue, but I'm not an IT specialist, so I could be missing something. Answer:Not receiving emails through Outlook or receiving them 12+ hours later

I don't know if this will solve your problem or not, TC2 but try this. Open OUTLOOK. Click "Tools" and select "Options". In the Options window select the "Mail Delivery" Tab. Under the "Mail account options", make sure that the box next to "Check for new delivery" is Checked. Then put in the number of minutes that you would like OUTLOOK to check for new messages. Hope this helps.

I'm using Outlook Express 5 - and today something odd has started happening - a few of the emails I've received have been blank, with a .txt attachment, which is also blank when you open it.

The emails all have proper subjects and they are from people I know.

Any ideas what is going on? The txt attachments are called things like ATT00917.txt and ATT00945.txt

rich text format or plain text.

Edit: Opps Nicky I see yours are attxxxx.txt not .att. Hate having dyslexia. Anyway try saving the files and opening them using notepad but run a virus check first.

This has only happened 2 or 3 times but I receive an email with no subject and no content and it does not contain a sender. I'm a bit concerned and have run my antivirus, adaware and spy bot programs. Nothing shows. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be?

the filter for sending emails to another email does not work for already received emails

if the above is not possible is it possible to do the same in outlook express 6??
if yes, then how do i download emails from just one particular sender in my gmail account..

Hi Guys,

having an issue that some of the users on our domain have been receiving emails sent from external senders but they appear as having been sent from our domain - "on behalf" of the external users address.

i.e. our domain is say - roman.org
some users are receiving email from say [email protected] however, the message they receive appears to come from [email protected] - on behalf of [email protected]

I am quite confused as to how this is happening since "[email protected]" is not a user on our exchange, nor is the email applied anywhere.
Even if they were using SMTP through the exchange server somehow - our exchange only allows mail to be sent from certain IP addresses, and only allows relay from certain IP's.

Does anyone know how or why this kind of thing is happening and how to put a stop to it?

I have tried searching the net for an explanation but can't seem to find something similar.

Not even been up long and i have found out what was causing this.

Our externally hosted website (which had access to our exchange) had been setup to use SMTP to send email from the contact form on the site.
All these emails were coming from there through our exchange and using randomly generated email addresses from our own domain to send these emails.

We have now updated this so it uses a generic email address, so not to cause anymore confusion of receiving emails from random addresses which look like they are on our domain.

A user is trying to print .html emails, however, whenever she prints, only blank pages are printed... but she can correctly view the email. Other users can see and print the email just fine. Does anyone know if some setting could have been changed? Ide rather not have to reinstall office, so if anyone could help i would appreciate it. Thank you!

To make more space on the C: drive, I moved onedrive folder to another another drive. Didn't realize that the pst file is residing under onedrive. I linked the outlook 2010 data file to the new location of pst file but cannot send or receive emails.

Keep on getting outlook sending and receiving error - 0x8004010f error.

Can somebody guide pls ? Thanks !

You see, I have 3 pcs working with outlook, they all have the same settings to be connected to the pop server
The thing is... Sometimes 1 pc gets 1 message and the rest of the other ones don't
And it happens loads
The settings are identical in the 3 pcs, what can I do?

I'm having troubles with Outlook not receiving emails. Below are all the details of my issue.

My info:
WinXP Home ed
Bigpond Standard Cable
MS Outlook 2003
Firewall - ZA (free version)
Antivirus - Avast (free version)
Wireless Router (DLink - DI-624)

The Prob:
'Send/Receive' goes though OK when Outlook is first started. And works OK for a few 'send/receive' operations, then for whatever reason it stops receiving. Sending still goes through fine but receiving just times out.

What I've done:
Spoke to Bigpond about it... went through all the basic checks - email account setup, Outlook options. Still no resolution.

As a test, I created the same email address account in Outlook Express. And for sure it worked fine there.

This has got me stumped!! And Bigpond reckons they have never seen such a problem. Also said they couldn't help me any further as it appears to be not a Bigpond issue.

I don't think it's a firewall or antivirus problem as it initially works OK on start up of Outlook, just stops receiving after a while for some reason. There are 3 email addresses that my Outlook picks up, it is always and only the same one that has this problem.

Please provide any comments/advice/help you feel may help solve my issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Who is the provider of the problematical email account? Contact them as see if they have issues going on. If the other 2 are working fine, then I would say it is not software or hardware related, but provider related.

Did it used to work fine previously? Is this a recent issue? Or has it always been a problem with this account?

I have my main Outlook Inbox and a secondary Inbox. On Monday both were sending and receiving fine. We had a power outage Tuesday, so on Wednesday when I open my Outlook the main Inbox still sends and receives however the secondary Inbox has no received emails. This is definitely not correct as it is my business account. I have also sent myself a quote through my site and it never arrived.

My internet got shaped to 64kb Wednesday morning. Could this maybe cause a blockage of some sort trying to download large emails? If not, are there any other suggestions as to why suddenly I would stop receiving emails? I'm not great with computers so if this is too little information I will add to it as required.

In Outlook, go to Tools/E-mail Accounts View or Change Existing e-mail account. Highlight the account and hit Change. Make sure the POP settings for incoming mail are correct for your server. Hit the More Settings button, make sure those settings are correct as well. Hit the Test Settings button. Or send yourself a test Email.

TechCrunch...The Onion...Business Insider...DesignTaxi...Katie Couric.com...Daily Picks and Flicks...and The Verge.

So I checked, of course they are NOT blocked, they DO have rules to route them to inbox...

and they never arrive. I should say, I didn't get Couric or Designtaxi for months..then they showed up for like ten days, now they're MIA again.

Answer:Outlook keep receiving same emails

If there is one large or corrupt email in your ISP email server inbox, it could be failing on that one.

Therefore it will repeat the emails up to that point each time.

Go to the ISP webmail interface (assuming they have one) that allows you to access your ISP inbox using Internet Explorer, and check if that is the case. You could also delete any problem email from there.

Hi

So this is driving me insane. Suddenly the emails I send from Outlook are not reaching their destination. I am receiving emails fine, but nothing is getting sent. I am not getting any error messages - Outlook doesn't seem to realise that the messages aren't being sent! They are all in teh sent messages folder. This makes it worse because now I have to resend every email from the last 10 days from my hotmail account in case some of them didn't get through. LAst week it seemed to just be one or two recipients, today it seems that none of my mails are being sent.

I have been in touch with my website provider people as the email address is through the website and they say that the problem is at my end. I have not changed any settings - they are all as the website tech guy said they should be. (incoming and outgoing servers etc are all correct)

Does anyone have any clue why this is happening and what I can do about it?

I use a Cell C dongle (am in South Africa) but have been using the same internet connection for the last 4 or 5 months and suddenly started getting this problem today.

I am not receiving my emails in Outlook Express. My emails are hitting my email account at @optonline.net account but they are not being sent to my Outlook Express account. I haven't received Outlook Express emails since 10pm last night. When I click the "send/receive" button on Outlook it checks for new emails on my server and finds the emails....I hear the noise that email or emails have been receive but the email(s) never appears in my Inbox...nor do email(s) appear in SPAM or Deleted files....where do they disappear to?

Computer Info: OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3, 32 bit.
Outlook Express: Version 6.00.2900.5512 (xpsp. 080413-2105) (version info according to the "about Outlook Express" option from the Outlook help menu) Hope this information is helpful. Please advise. Many thanks!

Hi, I had just setup my email account in a new computer and what happen is when I click send/receive, emails kept downloading since 2009. May I asked if there is a way to specified or configure receiving in a range of time or date? Cause the downloading really was huge and taking off all the gB in my internet. Thank's for help

Do you have access to your emails online? If so, log in there before opening up Outlook. It's possible you have had a setting that saved the emails on the server, so now this Outlook is treating them as new ones.

Hi,

Within the last week or so I've been having major issues with receiving emails in my Outlook Express. I can hear the "ping" that a new email has been received and even see that there is an additional email per the number next to the Inbox. However, there is no email reflected in the actual Inbox folder.

I have tried compacting my folders and deleting over half of my existing emails--all to no avail. I have checked the settings and everything is correct.

I have also tried closing outlook express and restarting my computer, but nothing is working.

Do you have any advise??? I've never experienced anything like this before.

I already have Office 10 home and business. Needed Publishe so reloaded Office 7 to get it. Have license for both. Now programme says that Outlook 10 is not my default programme. It is still on the computer

It's not wise to have two versions of Office installed in their entirety at the same time. What you should have done, if you only needed Publisher from Office 2007, is to install Publisher and nothing else from the Office 2007 CD. That way, you would still have only one version of Outlook installed (Outlook 2010).What you can do now in your situation is uninstall Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 will automatically become your default email client again.Go into Control Panel > Programs & FeaturesClick Microsoft Office 2007 once to highlight it.Now click "Change" at the top.The Office 2007 installer will open.In the new box, click "Add or Remove Features" and click "Next".In the new box, left-click the little box against "Microsoft Outlook".Select "Not Available" (red X).Click "Continue".Outlook 2007 will now be uninstalled.Wait for the process to complete.

approx 5 days ago, my outlook emails stopped coming into my inbox when my pc is switched off. All other times, my email is fine. I havent changed any of my settings. the emails never show, even later and I have to go to my email provider to check what I've missed. Any idea's what the problem can be and how I can fix it please. Everything worked well until this happened. thanks

I recently upgraded to Dsl. I'm on IE6, Xp home. This is a recent development and who I'm attempting to send to has made no recent changes but has restored to an earlier time to ensure no problem at his end to no avail. Recipient does not have me blocked. Recipient receives email from all others and not from me no matter if I send from my email or through other emails (even when I send from another email address from my website). I receive his emails and also don't reach him when I reply instead of originating. My sent email is not returned as undeliverable. He also has Xp home, IE6 and outlook express.

We're lost. Relevant thoughts appreciated.

Your emails get delivered to others without a problem?

Have the person check the blocked sender list again, just to be sure.
Check message rules that might block you.

Then have them temporarily disable: firewall, anti-virus and any popup blockers. Arrange to send an email when they are disabled and see if received.

Hey guys,

I've only developed this problem since the morning today. I can't send emails using my Outlook account, but i'm receiving emails just fine. Upon some investigation, I found that my IP range in listed on the PBL on Spamhaus.org. I tried releasing it twice from there but that doesn't seem to be working. It keeps saying this.

"Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)"Click to expand...

A week or so ago Outlook stopped receiving emails. I can send emails and I can send emails to myself and get them but cannot receive new emails or replies to me. Everything is configured correctly and the "test account settings" always works fine... all check marks. So I think Outlook may be broken. Please help!

Emails are receiving fine on laptop that has outlook 2013 and they are also coming through on iphone.

outlook 2007 shows that they are being downloaded but they wont show in the inbox.

Junk email folder is always empty? are they going to junk and getting auto deleted?

I've tried going into safe mode with outlook but no success, also checked my rules and nothings there either.

The computer also doesn't have any anti virus that would delete them as its only got Microsoft security essentials.

Hi,

My outlook express will not receive any messages, however, they are being recieved via webmail.

Furthermore, when I delete or send message via webmail, they appear in the relevant folders in Outlook.

I have had previous problems where my mailbox reached maximum capacity and then obviously did not recieve any further messages.

However, I'm currently using approx 15% of its capacity as it has been extended.

Could it be due to an oversized file sent from another user, I did recieve an 8mb file in webmail, which I subsequently deleted. Would this block messages coming through Outlook?

I ran into a similar problem, I have an account that called and said, "We can't recieve Email".

Sure enough when I got there they were right. they could send but not recieve. I found that if I hit "Send/Recieve" on the toolbar that the emails would go out but none came in. Finally I stumbled across the fact that If I selected Tools/Send/Recieve and then selected my account all of the emails downloaded.

Go figure!!

I'm not sure why my 1st post didn't work, sorry if this is a duplicate.

I have outlook configured with 4 different emails, through 4 different SMTP servers and they have been working fine for months.

Last night, after a 20 minute power outage, Outlook has been giving me the error below, regardless of which email account I use.

Task '[email protected] - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'​
Any ideas on what got messed up and how to fix it would be much appreciated.

Just got home from work and Outlook is not sending or receiving any emails - when I press send/receive button nothing happens. Poss a service provider problem (f2s)? I did download and install Network Magice last night but shouldn't cause a problem? Also was fiddling with my router settings (Netgear DG 834) but can't see anything amiss. Ideas anyone? Maybe I'll reboot and see if that fixes it.

Hi guys, I have just swapped ISP from my old freeserve (wanadoo,orange) broadband to sky. The problem is I want to still be able to access my old email a/c I have had for years. I used to use outlook express and wanted to still be able to use this program, however since changing ISP I still receive emails but cannot send any as I get the error,

Very strange problem with OE6 failing to receive [show up in Inbox] only CERTAIN few emails from certain addresses within the same domain.

Does anyone know the steps that OE undertakes to pickup mail from the server, move it to the client, and flag the server to remove/delete [assuming such flag is unset in the OE controls] ??? If I look at the server's email [webmail] the messages are there in the inbox. But OE6 on the local client will pickup every mail EXCEPT these certain few addresses. I've removed every security precaution and have no senders on the block-list at the client side. Checked junk filters, Deleted folder, etc. Even putting machine in Safe Mode and establishing a new user account with new/fresh OE6 mail account the problem persists.

Related but different question: The way Microsoft bundles OE6, isn't it in the software ball with IE? and is it still in IE8?

Very interesting......I think we need to narrow things down a bit more.

Can you try it with another email client like Thunderbird?
Can you try it with another email account from this same machine?

Hi all, I am just in the process of transfering all my info to new pc from XP to Win 7.. (well now Win 10 as it's just done the update), but when i'm trying to set up Outlook 2010 (I have the full MS Office Pro 2010), I have one account that will not receive emails on any other machine except my original XP.. I've got 3 email accounts set up on the new machine and can SEND on all of them, and RECEIVE on only two.. The send and receive box shows no errors and quickly processes all the other emails, but there is the one that will NOT receive..
I have both pc's set up in front of me and copied the info from old to new very carefully... I even had the other half check and enter again herself, but still doesn't work.
I've checked my ISP webmail and can see the email waiting there, just the other machines won't fetch it..
Oh, and i did set it up on another win 7 pc and didn't work and also on another XP machine, again no luck..
What am i missing? tell me it's something daft i'm missing..

Hi. I am so glad I found this site! I have tried everything!

My trouble is with OutLook Express 6 email.
I am running Windows XP,and IE6.
I can receive emails, but they do not display in the
message box. It is totally blank. I have checked all
my settings with my husband's laptop (in Tools, then Options) and all are the same. The only way I can read
the email, in text only, is to check the "Read" box in the Options that says "read all messages in plain text".
Then the text can only be read as an attachment.
It apprears as if the HTML function is not there any more.

Also, I cannot compose, reply, or forward emails at all.

I hope this makes sense and you can help me.
Please let me know if you need anything else to diagnose
my problem.

I have been using outlook 2007 with vista for over 6 months now and everything was working fine. all of a sudden emails were not being sent (ie they remained in the outbox). i got an error box saying:reported error (0x800CC78): cannot send the message. verify email address in your account properties. the server responded: 550 5.7.1 Access denied.also, i am not able to delete any emails: from sent items folder - i get a window saying 'the folder is full', and if i try deleting from deleted items folder, i gert a window saying: 'The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook'.

I have 2 email accounts and recieve them both in outlook express. Suddenly no emails were received for the one account. When I delete saved emails (I have them archived and need them) and compact, I get emails so I think there is a quota or bin full somewhere.

The emails are not being held on my isp.

Any ideas please? I have no disc on this notebook so cannot download or backup the email files.

There is no "quota" for Outlook Express. If you signed
into your email provider's website and there are no emails
sitting there - then you haven't gotten any emails.

My Wife runs a business out of our home and she is getting emails on her Blackberry about 5 mins before it comes to outlook. She has even tried the send/receive button and the emails are still delayed. Anyone have any ideas?

If it's only happening with some, not all, messages, it points to a problem with the senders email provider, not yours. If it was a problem with either your email client software or your email provider, every message would be duplicated.

Hello, I believe I am having a problem with my copy of Outlook Express. I am trying to track a product ordered some time ago, and am part of another website that dispatches an email to your inbox whenever you receive a personal message on the site. I tried requesting the password for the website to track the product, however nothing appeared in my inbox after thirty minutes, and the notification for a practice personal message I sent myself on the website never arrived either. It has been receiving notifications for previous personal messages today, with less than a minute of delay usually, but I suspect that some of my emails are either not arriving, or else none are arriving now. If it's at all possible, can someone help direct me as to how to solve this problem and (hopefully) recover the emails which did not go through? Thank you in advance for whatever help you can provide.

For technical information, I click the "send/receive" button on the program, and it checks for any new emails on my server but finds none; there are no error messages that appear for me. As for the computer that I am on, it is a Windows XP operating system, the copy of Outlook Express, according to the "about Outlook Express" option from the help menu, is version 6.00.2900.5512, and I'm afraid I'm very non tech-savvy, but I will pull up any other specifications that I can if need be.

I got the first WIndows 7 Pro computer in our office recently, and i am hvaing trouble receiving all my emails using Outlook 2007. Occassionally 1 or 2 come through, but then the rest don't come through. i get an error saying the POP server has timed out, but that makes no sense to me. if it works one moment, why not all the time? could it be a router problem?

I am receiving two, three, four and even five times the same emails again and again. I closed the account and opened it again and the problem persists.
I checked on my server, Bellsouth.net and there you couldn't find the duplicates emails, so the problem resides in Outlook.
I haven't found a solution for this problem in the database of Office and don't know what else to do.
I have another email account in gmail and it happens the same problem: duplicate emails and no duplication on the server.

What is the mail provider that you are using? Are the messages being retrieved from the server using POP3 or IMAP? If POP3, check the retention policies as it sounds like the iPad is set to delete messages from the server after retrieval which means that the messages are not left for the computer to retrieve when the send/receive is triggered in Outlook. If your mail provider supports it and you have enough storage space with the provider, I would suggest using IMAP instead of POP3 as IMAP allows synchronization among multiple devices. Hey guys. I've been having some trouble sending/receiving emails with Outlook Express (or any other email client), and would appreciate some ideas/advice on what I could do to fix things. Basically, what's happening is that aside from a hotmail account I have, Outlook Express refuses to send/receive any emails. For example, with Yahoo, even though I'm a member of Yahoo delivers and have put in the correct POP3/SMTP info, it continually asks for my password (which I've already entered when adding Yahoo as a mail account to OE)...and then eventually gives me the following error message:

I have done numerous Chats with Tech support, they can't help so schedule a call with level 2 Tech, he calls 2hrs past scheduled call time to reschedule. Today on schedule call day sat at home 12hrs waiting for them to call. Called them several times and always told me they were having problems with their tool to wait and call in another 2 hrs. Finally asked for another schedule call for next day, but can't give me an specific time so Injust have to seat at wait. Unprofessional, inconsiderate & plain rude.

Scenario:
1 PC used by the secretary
1 Laptop used by the boss (not always on-site)
Both have the same email account on them
PC is set to keep mail on server for 14 days
I *think* the laptop is also set to keep mail on server for 14 days (boss is on holiday at the mo)

Tends to work ok most of the time, but every so often the PC has a problem where it gets a surge of emails going back more than 14 days. She just called me in this morning and I can see that emails are going back until 26 June, which is about 23 days.

The laptop does not suffer from this problem.

It's not the first time we've looked into this problem. We thought that after last time the problem wouldn't re-occur.

The PC is on a wireless connection with a low signal, so the secretary sometimes gets the 0x800CCC0F error in Outlook, but I doubt that's anything to do with emails remaining on the server.

Ideas anyone?

I've been using Outlook 07 for awhile now with no problems, using POP3.

All of a sudden yesterday, I wasn't receiving any emails in my inbox. I'm able to send emails and I am receiving emails in my junk folder. I get an error balloon in the bottom left corner by the Outlook icon everytime it's trying to Send/Receve which says "Microsoft Outlook cannot start processing services"

I've tried several things and nothing has worked. Below I'm listing things that I've tried and things that I do know.

Do know:
- Using Windows Vista Home Premium
- All email accounts are working. I'm able get everything on my laptop using Outlook 07 with the same account settings.
- The Send/Recieve button doesn't seem to work when I click on it.
- When I created a new .pst folder and set it as the default, all past emails were receiving but it only dumped a few in the junk folder all other ones didn't show up.
- I have deleted all rules, so it's rule free
- I can send emails
- I have several email accounts using Outlook and none of them are working, so it's just not a certain account.

Things I tried:
- Creating a new personal .pst file
- Ran .pst scan and repaired it on the old original file (which i'm not using now, since I created a new file)
- unistalled office 07 twice and reinstalled it
- cleaned out an free space in all email accounts and archives.
- created a new archive .pst file

I have my email on my Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 so it can be shared by my laptop and two desktops. That part works fine. I've got Outlook 2003 on two of the machines and Outlook 2007 on my new laptop.

My email provider is Comcast.net

The new laptop has Windows 7 Pro and the other machines have Win XP Pro.

I'm getting two copies of most emails. even if I send myself an email from my local account or if I use my gmail account to send myself a test email, I get one copy immediately and then a few minutes later, a second copy. This has been going on for months. It is, as they used to say in the sixties, a 'stone drag.'

Any suggestions?

Just upgraded from Outlook 2000 to Office 2010 and for short while, Outlook was fine. Now not receiving emails...error message. Have tried new profile, also restored to an earlier system point, works for a bit, then reverts to same problem. Sends fine, does not receive. Windows XP.

I have been sending messages perfectly happily but today people are receiving parts of their email with the font messed up.
For example.
SENT: However maybe well just have to do it as we have for the time being if Ray doesnt mind when he sends it across and you send across the (normally 100 every 3 months) 200 this time please.

Am having some issues with Outlook 2010.

Program is locking up when first opened.

Icon on lower bar says " Outlook is syncing folders "

Sends fine, is getting stuck receiving 1 of 6 messages 7kb of 1.5 mb

Have gone into ISP mail portal & deleted all incoming mail. Looks to be trying to receive messages from couple days ago ?


I went off line & tried to delete a couple newer large ( 4-10 MB ) emails .

No luck deleting so when back online. Can still use the program somewhat.
Emails can be viewed , but not moved or deleted. Doing this will cause a premanent "processing" icon.

Still thinking those couple large files caused this & would like to find a way to delete them.

Other profiles in outlook work fine. Only the main default profile is freezing.

Hey! My mother uses Outlook Express and says she has not received any emails. We recently downloaded AVG for virus protection and she noticed it started happening after that. She can send emails fine, but not receive them. I tested it by sending an email to me, and then me replying. She never got the reply. It says that outlook express is connecting, then it pops up an error screen reading:

Your POP3 server has not responded within 60 seconds. Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for the server to respond?
Account: [email protected]
Incoming: mail.yahoo.verizon

A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account: '[email protected]', Server: 'incoming.yahoo.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

The server responded with an error. Account: '[email protected]', Server: 'incoming.yahoo.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

The task it is trying to run is checking for new messages, it says it failed connecting using dialer. We are connected through LAN, no dialup.or

I have changed her email address here for anonymity, obviously. I don't know if the AVG is interfering with her emails, or if something is wrong with outlook. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you sure the incoming should be "mail.verizon.net" and not maybe "pop.verizon.net" I personally do not use verizon so I am not sure which is right. You could try changing it and see what happens

I have added new users on a company network (server 2003). Also set up their new email addresses using Outlook 2007. Now both the new users are able to send emails but are not receiving any.

I tried sending them an email and it was returned with the following message:-

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 <[email protected]>... User unknown (state 14).

How can I fix this error so that these users can receive emails?

What happens when an email is sent from inside your domain?
I mean to these problem account...Also you mentioned using Outlook to set up the accounts? Surely you meant exchange or did you you build the email accts when setting up the user accounts in AD?

I have a client who uses Office Outlook 2007 (which I recently installed over her old Outlook 97) for her email. It's been working perfectly for almost two months. However about two weeks ago, she realized the program will not send emails.

I've tried this method (and other variations of it following the same principle), but it has not helped. Furthermore, I've tried turning off Avira Antivir Guard to stop it from scanning incoming or outgoing messages. That didn't help either.

I would prefer not contacting the email provider unless absolutely necessary as I doubt this is an issue on their part. Could anyone help me get this working?

I have two client rules set up in my mail server thru my ISP's webmail.

1) If email is from 'a', move email to folder 'a'
2) If email is from 'b', move email to folder 'b'

Now everything works fine and dandy in my webmail, but in Outlook I'm not receiving any emails from 'a' or 'b' at all. Not in my inbox, not in my folders (same name), not anywhere.

Why is this?

Do I have to take the client rules off the ISP's webmail and only implement them in Outlook?

No idea how to do this with POP3.

Either way, I don't think you can have local a and b folders on your computer synch with those on the server.

If you set up IMAP (instead of POP3), you can see a and b folders on the server through Outlook.

Why is it that Outlook 2007 Causes Internet explorer 7 to freeze when receiving emails? As Outlook sends a scheduled send and receive if I am currently loading a webpage or click to load a new page it seems to cause it to freeze until the send and receive has finished. If my PC cannot deal with two things at once why did I pay for a dual core processor?

We had a hard drive crash and bought a new computer to replace it..

New PC is running Windows 7 Professional and Office 2010
750 Gb HD
4 GB memory

The problem is Outlook does not send and receive mail unless you close Outlook then open it..

Outlook is only using 1 email account and it is setup for exchange..

I had trouble getting Outlook to connect to the Exchange Mailbox..

Finally after many tries and verifying everything was setup, like the other PC that works, I got it to connect to the mailbox..

Now when you first open Outlook it asks for the login and downloads the new mail, but never downloads mail again until you exit Outlook..

It does not get mail even if you hit the send and receive button..

The only way is to close Outlook and reopen..

We checked with our email administrator and he said it's nothing on their end..

Any help would be appreciated..

Well we figured out that the problem was the mailbox had to finish downloading 4Gb then it started working and retrieving new mail..

I have a user here that is receiving some her emails hours late. For example, she may receive emails regularily and then all of the sudden an email will come into her inbox from a time about hour or two before her most current ones (when arranged by time and date).

She is using Windows 2000 SP4 with Outlook 2003 and the problem doesn't seem to discriminate between internal or external emails.

Another weird thing is that I checked teh Exchange Server's Message Tracking Center and it shows the times on some of her emails received differently than her Outlook does. For example, she received a message around 3:00 PM that was coded as 1:43PM in her Outlook, but in the message tracker it says that it actually did come in at 3:02 PM. But on other emails the time stamp is the same on both you local Outlook and the Exchabge Server even though she didn't receive it for hours.

Any ideas what could cause this, as I have not seen it happen on any of the other computers here running Outlook 2003?

I am attempting to find add-ons for Outlook 2010. This is what I need the add-on to do:
Export an email from Outlook onto our server, and into a job folder.
Save file with date email was received, not exported out of Outlook, and subject line.

Hello, I hope you can help!

I have installed Outlook 2010 as an update to my Outlook Express.

I can send /receive fine having manuallt set-up the incoming/outgoing server info etc, but when I send test messages or from my separate O2 email account, all sent and newly received emails are all going to the old Outlook Express, and not into the new Outlook 2010.

Why is this, I hope you know as I do not.

Hi Folks

This is my first post on the Windows 7 Forums I hope General Discussions is the correct place for my post.

I will shortly be getting a new desktop pc with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. It will have Microsoft office Outlook 2010 on it.
This will replace my current computer which has Outlook 2003.

Is there a way of transferring my saved emails from Outlook 2003 on my old pc to outlook 2010 on my new pc?

Also I currently have 3 email accounts. Is it possible to configure Outlook 2010 to be able to view emails from 3 different email accounts?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hello Richard and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm not a fan of Outlook so I don't have a lot of experience with it. Having said that, I remembered an old Microsoft Answers forum thread about moving 2003 .pst files over to 2010. The first answer by Russ Valentine should still be valid. One suggestion if I may. Before attempting to move any emails I think it would be helpful to back them up, make a system image, do something to protect them should the unthinkable happen.

Strange error, A windows 7 64 bit PC with Outlook 2010.
Some emails get cut off, meaning that if you send an email say with 100 lines in it, only half of it actually arrives to the recipient.

Weirdly, it's not the FIRST time you send it but if you reply to having it sent back to you.

Anyone ever seen this before?

I can't personally say I have had that error but I never had an email quite that large but I did find this link to people having this issue but there doesn't seem to be a fix for it.

I currently run Outlook 2010, I have already set up an email account.

My problem is as follows;

If I open Outlook, and wait till its fully loaded,i.e. its done a full sweep and downloaded any new emails,

if I then try and send ( or even reply back to a new email, the following happens.

I see that the Archives Outbox is bold and has a figure [ 1 ] ( in green ) this stays and stays and stays even if I close Outlook down even if I reboot, it is still there.

If I try and send another one the same thing happens except the figure now changes to [ 2 ]
That was tried at 10:50 yesterday morning and its still there after I booted up this morning

Please help

I've searched the forum and while i've seen similar issues going on none of the other troubleshoot techniques seem to do the trick for me.

I linked out look to a domain email address I have and I am able to receive emails with no issue. When I send emails it actually shows "inbox(1)" then moves into the sent mail folder but it never arrives at the destination.

I am not very adept with computer issues so any help, steps, etc are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you checked with your ISP to see if you are using the appropriate settings?

Notification for new emails in Outlook 2010
There is a builtin option for notification in Outlook 2010, but the problem is that it?s only visible for a very short time.
If you are not looking at the computer when it shows, then you will not see that you have got new emails.
I wrote a small program that fix the problem b? creating a permanent notification on your screen.
It creates a new window that does not go away until you have acknowledged it by typing "Y" or "y",
upper or lower-case doesn?t matter.
This also means that you get a new "open window" below the screen, so if another windows hides the notification-windows
you will still see it.
If the notification-window is not your topmost window then you will have to select it before you type "Y".
