2007 Outlook/Gmail Account --Where are my emails going??

Question: 2007 Outlook/Gmail Account --Where are my emails going??

OK...Running Vista Home Basic on my Dell PC...5 days ago at 9:23pm I received my last email in Outlook (2007). Computer was idle at work. No problems for 4 years until now. 2 weeks ago went with a new ISP and did not change the codes for SMTP/Pop3/Imap because it was all working the exact same way--frankly, didn't think about it. Come in and there are no new emails. Hit Send/Receive and nothing happens. NO WAY, I get 50 a day. Go to Gmail account and it stopped at the same time. Find all new messages in Trash folder then all filters were removed to see what happened next. Emails were visible on screen (inbox) after that-and still are. After that, gmail icon started showing bottom right of my screen with my incoming emails--FROM 2009/10/11! All I had deleted last year and I am sure I emtied. My Outlook number of items in Inbox continues to grow every time I hit Send/Receive, lines "bounce" on screen as if items are going to appear but they don't. I get the outlook envelope showing emails from January to March 2012 downloading along with New Items in Mailbox icon as of today. I can hit on the email as it (icon) pops up and read it but if it passes it is totally GONE! Since gmail was fixed, about 7000 emails have gone into my inbox but not one of them are visible. I feel it will continue to download until we get to the present date as it is downloading from past to present. I have since entered the new ISP information, got the Congratulations on my test email for send/receive, can send BUT NO NEW EMAILS! I have to go to my Gmail account (which is unfiltered now out of fear) sift through the JUNK to find my emails of importance....somebody PLEASE help me! Pictures of screen attached
Network Server Information--Correct
Folders Set up Correctly
All mail going to and visible in Junk, McAfee, (email scan is OFF) Sent or where ever it should be.
Views are right...I have tried EVERYTHING the Forums say to try...

Preferred Solution: 2007 Outlook/Gmail Account --Where are my emails going??

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: 2007 Outlook/Gmail Account --Where are my emails going??

Any chance your old ISP was Rogers?

I thought that when you use POP , your email address is hosted and stored by the ISP.
Meaning, say your ISP was called Teleweb, your email address would have been [email protected].

I'm confused as to why you did not need to change the POP settings if you changed ISPs.

Im thinking your old ISP cancelled or disabled your email account, which may be contributing to the problem.

Also Gmail is webmail, so ISPs cannot influence how Gmail behaves. Were you forwarding your mail to the gmail account?

hello everyone. I am new here and this is my first post here.

I have been trying to configure outlook (2007) with my Gmail account but it is very frustrating. The folder locations are set to some strange location. I searched on the web for a tutorial or something but could not find anything that could help me properly setup outlook with gmail. What is also frustrating is that the labels do not work in outlook.

Then I learned about a 3rd party tool called gmail drive but it looks more like a virtual drive. Besides I could not set it up properly. Wanted to know if there is a tool out there which can allow me to solve the problem.

Hi
After three hours or so of frustration and annoyance, it dawned on me that I have Google 2 tier verification turned on and then used the unique password to configure my Outlook POP3 account successfully.
When I attempted to add an IMAP account, however, I wasn't so lucky. It won't configure automatically (like Pop3 did) so I've gone to recommended manual settings, used the unique password, inserted the recommended port designations for incoming and smtp servers, but as soon as I attempt to initiate the account I get a popup window: The Requested Operation Failed.
I do want to use an IMAP account, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

I have been driven mad for the last 1-2 weeks. Been looking for so many solutions but can't really find anything definitive out there. The one thing I did find I got stuck and could not find any additional help on it.

Anyway's, I have Vista Home Premium x64 and I was trying to hook up my Gmail account to Outlook 2007. It can neither send or recieve it goes to like 66% then gets the following error message:

"Task" <username>@gmail.com Receiving reported error (0x80042108) outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) e-email server.

I tried re-installs as what was recommended, deleting the account, checking the firewalls, even turned the whole thing off to check but same problem. I have checked the settings time and time again and they are correct:

pop.gmail.com:995
smtp.gmail.com:587

I have tried the Safe (Networking Mode) and it works but I need it to work in Normal mode. I know many recommendations say debugging etc.. but wondering if there are any updates etc.. that I need to add or remove to make it work in normal mode?

Oh, I have turned on the TELNET client and tried to telnet pop.gmail.com but kept getting the following error:

* TELNET POP.GMAIL.COM 995 CONNECTING TO POP.GMAIL.COM...COULD NOT OPEN CONNECTION TO THE HOST, ON PORT 995: CONNECT FAILED.

Does the problem lie here? I also tried to look for help on this but got really nothing. I check to see how to open a port on the firewall but nothing definitive (any help... Read more

What do you use as your account type ?
IMAP or POP3 ?

If you are using IMAP, then your Incoming mail server is ....
imap.gmail.com, port #993
not
pop.gmail.com, port #995

I've been using outlook 2007 to send and recieve emails for the past 3 years or so (recieving from my website's pop server, and sending through gmail --- my website's domain has been flagged for spamming). Last week, I started getting this error message as I noticed that emails aren't being sent:

"none of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server"

I've tried double checking my login info, server settings, firewall, and even tried sending emails over a different network (work, home, starbucks..etc). I also changed the port number and security type as advised by gmail's troubleshooting...

Anyone have a hint for me???

Thanks

Account Name (and long line underneath it)
that is printed on the very top of emails

I have tried third party tools but have not

OutlookPrinter.com is one of the add-ins

They have an example (on their main web page)

I have a IMAP Hotmail account running on Outlook 2007 and suddenly it doesn't delete emails when I use the delete function on the toolbar and only sometimes deletes when I use the keyboard delete key, only then after going to another folder and coming back to my in box. I have tried running Account Setting again, even reloading my account. I used my Office 2007 disc to delete Outlook and reload it and still the problem persists. I have used Outlook 2007 and Hotmail for years without this problem. Has Windows 10 done something in an update that might cause this or what else could be my problem?

This issue just has started. It worked for the 3 years I have owned 20007. I have all the correct boxes checked, I think. The only thing I changed, which coincided with the alerts not working, was added an IMAP account.

Could the adding an IMAP account disable the desktop alert feature?

Thanks

Answer:Outlook 2007: No Desktop Alert on new emails after adding IMAP account

First let me clarify. I don't have Outlook 2007. But I do have 2003 on one of my machines. That said, I don't believe that just adding an IMAP account would have an adverse effect on your alert settings unless you somehow inadvertantly disabled the feature during the setup of the account. Again, I'm working with 2003, but in my main navigation menu, under Tools, I have a category for Rules and Alerts. This includes an interface for setting up the various rules for your email alerts. I'd start there and make sure all of your preferences are still set up correctly.Hope this helps,Bill

The question really says all about what I want to do, or need help on. I recently signed up for a new outlook account to try out the new outlook preview and I've set up gmail to automatically forward new messages to my outlook account so that I can use outlook to manage my gmail account.

Do any of you know how I would be able to forward the old messages, and not the new ones, to my outlook? I already know that they can be fetched into outlook by outlook's very own service, forwarding would be faster, so..?! Also, since I now use outlook to send email on behalf of my gmail account, how do I make it sync each email I send using outlook with my gmail - so that gmail has it all?

Hi,Just recently the emails that were going into my WLM account are being redirected
into my gmail account.
I sent a test btinternet.com email from WLM which goes into my sent folder but not my inbox.
Is there a way to set it up so that gmail goes to gmail account and my btinternet.com emails
go into my WLM account.
Thanks for any help.
OS is Wndows 7 64bit

Answer:WLM emails going into my gmail account.

Hello Tommy,

What do you mean by "WLM account" ?
Is this an @hotmail.com, or @outlook.com, or ISP (btinternet), or ... account?
WLM (Windows Live Mail) is a Client (installed on PC) email program and can have many email accounts.
Do you have multiple accounts setup in WLM?
Every email provider I know of also has a WEB site where the user can read/send/manage email.
Are you using WLM for some email, and WEB email for other email?
Each email provider may offer different protocols such as IMAP, POP, MAPI and that can make a difference in what folders are used for a client program such as WLM.

Then there's a "Windows Live account" if that's what you're talking about, and Skype can affect things from what I've read...

Below is a screen print from WLM 2012 showing my "WLM accounts".
I have 2 hotmail accounts here - 1 is MAPI, and 1 is POP...plus a gmail and outlook account...
I mainly use Office Outlook for all my email, but I do use WLM on "test" systems for email that I know I don't need to keep ...

As you said it's a "recent change", can you restore to a point before the problem started?
Do you know what changed to start the problem - Patch Tuesday updates perhaps?

Hi,

I have a gmail account that has received emails from paypal, which contain customer email addresses. Since I can't access emails past a month in paypal, it would be ideal if I could get every email address in an email sent by paypal to me and then copy it to a text file. I'd like to use the list for mass mailing product reminders, etc. Before I spend the time to write a script, has anyone heard of software that will do that? Thanks for your help!

If that sounded confusing, I need a script that will search through a specified set of emails, extract every address in those emails, and then copy them to a txt file.

Answer:How can I extract all emails from a Gmail account?

Sorry but this cant be done. At least not by hacing the script go online and search GMail. Now if you use something like Thunderbird, Outlook or Windows Live Mail that stores the mail locally, then you might be able to do something. But AFAIK nothing like this exists.

Hi... I think we need more details. Could you join the site so you can reply in this thread?
What App was used to capture the runs? What device did the tracking?
Where are you trying to view the runs? What output (Google Maps, App "X", printout maps)???
On the surface it looks like you are asking about an email... Which you could forward. I think what you really want is how to move a service to a new email address as the reporting default without loosing all your stored data, yes?
So more details are critical.

If you move everything to the inbox, and choose to retrieve all in the pop settings it will retrieve all of it. Then setup your outlook like you want it

Hi there,

I've recently set my parents up with a Gmail account but am having problems with transferring their emails from an Outlook PST file to their new account. I've tried following the tutorial at the link below without success - mainly due to the fact that Outlook seems to be very unstable on their machine (hence the change to Gmail).

Export and Backup Emails from Outlook to Gmail Online

Are there any other ways of migrating these emails across to their new account? Note that the migration tool offered by Google does not work as the Gmail account isn't connected to Google Apps for Business.

One possible solution is that I could migrate their emails via my Google Apps for Business account though I imagine it would take forever to then forward these emails onto them (most likely manually using the Forward) option?

Cheers,

Andrew

Hi, when I searched the forums for posts on Microsoft outlook I found posts in the windows and the computer software areas, a majority of the posts appeared here so I thought I'd try posting here.Okay, here's my situation: I currently have an email account with Adelphia and I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 to access that it account.  I setup Outlook so that when I receive the emails from the Adelphia account Outlook removes them and transfers them to Outlook (meaning a copy of the emails don't remain in my Adelphia inbox).  I've decided that I want to stop using Outlook, mainly due to the fact that it makes it difficult to access my emails from computers not on my network account.  I've decided to switch to a gmail account (for other reasons involving irritation with Adelphia). My problem is that I can't figure out how to get my emails from Outlook 2003 to my new gmail account.  I've looked in the questions and answers section, the forum, and both faq on gmail and outlook official pages and still can't figure it out.  I think I've figured out a way to redirect new incoming mail, but that's not my concern what I need is to redirect my old emails.  I know that I could just forward all of my old emails to my new gmail account, but that will be a huge hassle and the emails would then show up as being sent from me and not the original sender.  If I can't figure out another solution I'll do th... Answer:help transfering emails from outlook to gmail

I'm not absolutely sure but I doubt very much this can be done.  Think about it.  With Outlook, your mail is on your hard drive, not out on the Internet.  With Gmail, it is out on the Internet; it's web-based mail.  I looked at the info on Gmail on Google's site and, like you, found nothing about transferring mail from Outlook.  So, I no other option but to forward the mail to yourself if you really must get it all moved over to Gmail.

I use Outlook 2010 which syncs to my IMAP Gmail account.
This works very well.

Today something happening in Outlook (I might have dragged something, I don't know) and my mails (12,500 of them) ended up in Outlook's deleted items folder. Some Gmail folders just vanished, like Sent Items, Bin and Spam.

I immediately quit Oulook before it synced so all my mails are still safe on Gmail's servers. I checked via logging in to the Gmail website and also disabled IMAP to be safe.

I need some advice on how to fix the emails in Outlook.
I'm afraid that if I start syncing the mails will be lost from Gmail.
I also don't want to start a new Outlook .pst file as there are many gigs of emails to sync.

Does anyone have some advice?

Hello,

Here in the UK, Orange turned off their email address system. I have a GMail account and want to use this in Outlook 2007.

However, I have a POP account which receives but does not send. It is for this reason, I use the GMail account from which to send, but then make my Return address to be that of my POP address.

Anyway, GMail is an IMAP account and Outlook tries to send mail from the POP account as opposed to the Defaulted IMAP GMail account.

For Outlook 2010, 2013, etc, there are Registry fixes for this. I cannot for the life of me find a Registry fix for 2007. Does it exist, with instruction?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Win 7, Office 2007 etc etc.

Answer:Outlook 2007 - Make IMAP account default sending account

I have moved a few people off of orange over the last few weeks and then closed down the account on outlook 2007 and 2010

If you have the old orange still set as default account - change to the gmail account as default
also switch off the send and receive - not needed for IMAP

otherwise , not sure what you are trying to do

You can also delelte the account and the POP email will remain - BUT backup and test the PST file first

so I just connected outlook 07 with my gmail account, after deleting unwanted emails in outlook, the deleted emails still marked as unread and still there in my gmail account.

does any know how do I delete emails in my gmail just by using outlook?

thanks

Answer:deleting emails in outlook, not connecting with gmail

Depending on how you're connecting to gmail it may not be possible. I know it's not possible to delete emails on the web server if you're using an HTTP or IMAP connection. By default, most tutorials tell you to use IMAP and POP isn't enabled be default on a gmail account.

To Enable Pop in Gmail:

Quote:
1. Sign in to Gmail.
2. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
4. Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
5. Choose what to do with your messages after they're accessed with your POP client or device.
6. Configure your POP client* and click Save Changes.

To Configure Outlook 2007 to connect via POP:

Quote:
1. Enable POP in your email account. Don't forget to click Save Changes.
2. Open Outlook.
3. Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings...
4. On the E-mail tab, click New...
5. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, Select POP and then select Next.
6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
7. Click Next... You're Done. (Manual Cofiguration)

I finally got around to setting up a mail account (G-mail) in Outlook 2007, I just clicked the automatic setup and let Outlook do all the work. It seemed to set up and work OK, but it only grabbed my currently unread mail, about 5 or 6 items.

I would like to have about 3 months worth of my g-mail accessible in Outlook but I can't seem to make it happen...I tried placing the the mail I wanted back into the G-mail inbox and marking it "unread", but Outlook still doesn't see it.

Any ideas?
Thanks as

Answer:Outlook 2007 and Gmail

Did it set up GMail as a POP account or as an IMAP account?

If it set up as a POP< there is part of the problem. If it set it up as an IMAP, then you'll need to dig into your settings and see why it is not showing everything in your GMail account. You may also need to adjust your settings in your GMail account itself in order for it to do the mail correctly.

For example, last year I converted my default GMail account which I checked using POP through Thunderbird into a true online account, complete with folder *online*, rules / filtering *online* and mail *online* which I now check through Thunderbird, my Motorola DROID, and anywhere else through a web browser *online*. There was a specific routine I had to go through to set every thing up, and most of it you will not need (at least not now if you don't do server side filtering and use server-side 'folders'), but the setting up of IMAP settings in your account settings online is probably what will fix this particular issue you're having.

Post back and let me know if you need more help, I'll try to dig up the links I used (straight from Google, so you know they're not bogus) and post them back here.

I have had terrible trouble with my gmail acct for about 2 or 3 years and have decided to say a fond farewell, but first I synced with Outlook2007 and imported my archived files. My gmail files read 24,432 files, but only about 8701 end up in Outlook during an import.

I have too many files to save one by one, but many are acct related and imperative: it involves my writing, royalties, websites, business and hosting accts ,personal letters, and stats from the years 2005 till now. I once before a few years ago took the better part of a day and was able to download the files into outlook and save them.

Is there anyway to get my files backed up in full outside of a mail client? The problem I have been having looks like more than one person has been accessing my account and I can not be sure of Google's complicity or ignorance of the matter. I fear that in an effort to circumvent the courts and take over my sites, publications, etc, some folks have tiered the account and gifted themselves with my critical email.

In any event, my most urgent concern is copying all my emails for a reliable back up, and unfortunately, though I hate to leave the convenience of gmail, move to a more 'responsive' service. 15 years of my online work is at stake as are royalties, reputation, etc. Can anyone help? Also, who is the most authoritative person to report this problem to? I have received no help from Gmail abuse nor Google Legal, and even received one response saying they were... Read more

Hi, My Operating System (Vista 32bit) corrupted and had to be reinstalled. I did this and then installed MS Office 2007 - I opened Outlook and started adding my email accounts to it. I used to have ONE inbox with all my mail (7 accounts, 3 googlemail accounts, 3 plus.net accounts and 1 domain name account) coming in to it but now I have 4 accounts - the googlemail accounts have created a separate folder for each account. How do I get ALL my mail in to the main inbox folder please? I noticed that the googlemail accounts have each created a pst folder which I am not able to move to the main one. I hope I have explained this OK as I am a bit of a novice. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi kaaos

Sure, there are instructions on Gmail's site for configuring e-mail clients:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?ctx=gmail&hl=en&answer=12103
Login into Gmail, click Settings in the upper right corner, click the Forwarding and Pop tab. At the bottom of that window is a link labeled Configuration Instructions (same as link above).

Let us know if that works for you or not.

Answer:GMail in outlook 2007

Hi tony_montana

In Outlook 2007:
Use Tools > Rules and Alerts > New Rule
Start from a blank rule, have it check messages when they arrive
Use the condition: through the specified account, select the Gmail account.
For the action, have the messages moved to the specified folder, select the folder.

After clicking Finish, click: Run Rules Now, all messages received from the Gmail account, in the Inbox, should be moved to the specified folder.
Let us know if that works for you or not.

Hello guys.

I was wondering if there is a way to make the GMail Inbox folder the default folder when Outlooks opens up.

Is there a way to integrate the GMail folders to the Personal folders? I think that'd be hard, since it is IMAP...

Is there a way to import contacts to Outlook?

If anyone can offer some help, that would be great.

Thanks!

Answer:For those who use GMail/Outlook 2007.

Can't say about personal folders, but you can have Outlook chose your Gmail to be your primary email by going in your control panel, then Mail, then Show Profiles. Use the drop menu to select your Gmail profile and then select "Always use this profile".

Be sure you have Outlook turned off before you do this.

in outlook 2010, i understand one can use a gmail account without actually opening up the gmail account, that is he can run the account from outlook, does that mean one can delete messages also, just like a regular account.
when i try to delete a message, it deletes it from the inbox of that gmail account in outlook 2010, but under the gmail folder it updates itself, and downloads it again, even after i delete it from the gmail folder also.

thanks.

Answer:deleting gmail emails from outlook 2010 folder

Hallo tapuz, you may have to sign into your gmail account and delete all your old messages.
From there select settings in the top RH corner
Then select Forwarding & pop/imap tab
In the pop download column go to option 2 and in the drop down box select delete gmails copy
Then select save changes.
This will stop gmail saving a copy once Outlook has downloaded it to your computer.
I hope this solves your problem, if not post back

Brief:
So we have a little networking group which is a Fun non-profit thing here in Atlanta,
and we have a little over 500 names on the mailing list and counting.

Question:
What is the Best Free solution to emailing the whole mailing list all in one go?

Problem:
Both Outlook and Gmail.com have restrictions over a certain number of email address's.
We tried Evite.com, but that has restrictions also, and many of those emails end up going to our recipients junk mail folder.

Insight:
We don't do any fancy invite newsletter stuff, but putting together a Microsoft Publisher mail-out would be a nice option. but we prefer the quick and simple shout-out with a few words on time and place!

Does anyone have a good solution?
Thank you in advance!

I use OE 6 on my desktop running XP pro, but use Outlook 2007 on my laptop running XP home. I cannot receive attachments sent from my Outlook 2007 to my OE 6 when I send it to myself. They are stripped off, not even showing an attachment. The attachment comes through to other recipients as far as I know, INCLUDING my alternate email address (through at&t). So OE 6 receives the attachment when I send it from my default email account to my at&t account, but not when I send it to from and to my default account. I have checked with my email provider, who has checked the server (IMAP) and they do not see any problem--the attachment is on the server. I have already unchecked all potential blocks under the Security Tab--image blocking and attachment blocking--and am operating in the Internet Zone. And, as far as I know, I am receiving attachments from everyone else in the world. I know there are ways to work around this problem, but it is irritating and I have concerns that my email attachments to clients may be unknowingly blocked. Also, I cannot receive those attachments on my Blackberry either.

4.  Also set Gmail to "lower" security settings.
5.  Crazy thing is it works without problems with POP3.

I have disided that I am sick and tired of changing email accounts with every time I move home. Especially considering that a lot of the ISP will make you close one account, open another account and then for security purposes not let you have the same user email address.

The problem that i have having with Gmail getting it to send via MS Outlook 2007. Firstly it take about 2 minutes and then Outlook gives me the following error :-

I have followed everying here

but I am still not getting any luck getting Outlook 2007 to send email via my Gmail account.

BTW, changing email clients is not an option for me.

Answer:Problems with Outlook 2007 and Gmail

These are the settings i use when i use Outlook 2007 with my GMail account. This is exactly how i have it setup and it has always worked for me.

The first screen when adding a account. I manually select the server settings. I dont let Outlook do that for me. From here click on the More Settings.

In the Outgoing Server settings select the option for mail must be authenticated. Then click the Advanced Tab.

Set it up for those settings and it should work for you all the time. It does for me.

I see they have different ports. They use 993 and i use 995 and for smtp they have 587 when i use 465. They should work with those settings as those are alternative ports that can be used with Gmail and the download of emails. But i use 995 and 465 with no issues.

Hi,
I have some question about the Microsoft Account that is required to use some function of the phone.
My question is simple:
- if I will use Gmail to create a MS account, I will lost some functionality?
- do you prefer Gmail or Outlook? Why?
- if I will create a MS Account with a Gmail address, where the contact will be sync? To MS Account, or to the Gmail account?
Thanks!

Answer:Microsoft Account: Gmail vs Outlook

You will not lose functionality.
I prefer Outlook because it plays nicely with more devices IMO.
Also sounds cooler, syncs up with my Microsoft setup well too.
The webmail also hooks in well with OneDrive, Office Online, other PIM and GTalk, Facebook messaging...
The contacts will be synced to your cloud service of choice, you can choose outlook or gmail, regardless.
I created my MS account using my Gmail, I eventually elected to use my Outlook as my primary thing to sign in. It's flexible.

Answer:Outlook Not Recieving ( Gmail Account`

Doublecheck and proofread every entry in the Gmail account. E-mail servers are extremely picky about even the minutest typo.
The "at night" phrase is confusing; can you get your E-mail if you manually ask for them?

I have a Windows 10 phone. I use the Outlook Mail app that comes with the phone. My current email is a Gmail. When I loaded my phone I used my Microsoft account, which is also linked to my gmail account. In outlook, I made sure to ADD my GMAIL account and use the snych settings for email, calendar and contacts.
Calendar is great, contacts are great. When I check my emails, the emails come in just fine.
When I delete an email in the outlook app on my phone. The email is still in my GMAIL. I have tried to look up different things I can do but I can only find responses that do not work.
I would really like to use the Outlook app for my phone, but sometimes I do check my email on a computer. I would like those 2 to work with each other. Not by themselves.

Hi, I did a test to see if I could restore emails to a gmail account via IMAP if they were backed up in outlook and the gmail account was empty. When I backed up the emails in outlook, I did so by syncing my gmail account with the '[Gmail]/All mail folder' in outlook (including email bodies and attachments). I next deleted all the emails in my gmail account. This subsequently led to the deletion of emails in outlook as you would expect. Finally I copied backups of all emails I made from the Outlook [Gmail]/All mail folder back to that folder

What happens next is that the emails sync back to gmail from outlook but they go back to the 'all mail' folder in gmail. Inbox and sent items remain empty. Is there any way to fix it so that inbox and sent items are repopulated in gmail? Thanks

This is a new installation of Outlook 2007 on a refurb Lenovo T5100 running Win7.

My wife uses Outlook 2007 to access her Gmail using POP3. When she was on XP and using Outlook 2000 it worked fine. Following the transition hitting "send/receive" only works intermittently. The mail eventually moves, but she can't predict when it will be able to connect. I just tried to recreate the error message to paste it here, so of course it's on its good behavior at the moment and is playing nice. This morning she was complaining that it wasn't working. I'll add the error message to this thread when I can capture it, but thought I ought to get my question in the queue in case this is something familiar to members of this forum.

Note: Connectivity to the outside world is good, and no other apps are having a problem. She can connect to Gmail with a browser and see the messages that she can't download. My Lenovo Win7 machine, on the same network, works fine with Gmail, but my mail client is Pegasus, not Outlook.

Thanks for any suggestions.

When i hit send/receive, it keeps adding 350+ new emails to my inbox but most are the same email 5 times and they are messages that I sent other people??? PLease help!

Answer:Gmail Apps email to Outlook 2007

Are you receiving through IMAP or POP3 ?
From what i understand you are seeing your own replies in the messages that you receive. Did you try changing to Conversation view in Outlook ?

Also make sure when you send mail through Outlook, the "Save copies of messages in Sent item folder" is unchecked in Outlook Options. This applies only if you see duplicate mails in Sent item folder.

How are you accessing the setup wizard? Do you already have Outlook set up for another email account, or is this the first email account you are trying to create?
If it's the first account being set up in Outlook, go to Control Panel>Mail, then configure a new profile and try setting it up that way. If you are already using Outlook for another email account and want to add Gmail, in Outlook go to Tools>Account Settings.

Not the system tray envelope icon. I know it works when using a pop account. I have my gmail set up through IMAP and I can't seem to get the notification. I figured out it out with a rule for the new message envelope in the system tray but not the actual window that shows who the message is from and subject.

While the account is showing up, it isn't completely gone, and when I try to delete it a prompt comes up that says "the default data file cannot be removed because it is your default delivery location. After you have selected a default delivery location, your current file can be removed."

I'm just trying to re-establish my gmail account on Outlook 2016, so my work emails are being sent and received through Outlook. Make sense?

Any help would be most appreciated. I'm extremely frustrated and would be happy to take my computer somewhere for someone to help me, but don't know where to go?

Try runing Outlook as an administrator. Which is odd. Are you logged in as an administrator or in a standard (limited) account?

Suddenly my Outlook 2010 calendar is giving an error message 'Error syncing our calendar; Error code 2016'. MS Help is useless. Can anyone please help me here. I have used system restore, set up another calendar but no way can I get the sync back.

Answer:Outlook Calendar Not Syncing with Gmail Account

Just read a note on this Forum - 'Google is stopping the sync function support with Outlook effective August 1, 2014'. This didn't pop up when I was googling Outlook sync yesterday. Is it true and would explain why whatever I try, there is now no sync! I do like the Outlook calendar as it is easy to access together with my various email addresses in one place.
So what now?

Hi!
Im going to switch completely to outlook from gmail. Problem is i need to change the outlook account name.. now i log in to my outlook account with my gmail-address, and i want to change that. When i try to, it just says that its not possible to change account name.
I thought maybe it would be easier to make a new account, but then i realised that i would mess up everything, me having 3 windows 8 pcs that all use the gmail-login. I also use skydrive, and have bougt apps in windows store..
I have also made an outlook alias, but that just appears as a folder in outlook.com when i want i to merge with the gmail-outlook account..
I hope you understand me, and can give me some advice :O

Answer:Switching from gmail to outlook, how to change account name etc?

I switched from Gmail to Outlook recently. There's an article on WP (Guide: How to get a new Live ID and keep all your Windows Phone app purchases | Windows Phone Central) about transferring your ID over and still maintaining your Windows Phone app purchases, although it requires an Xbox. I tried to go through this method the other day, and it was working until the account I was transferring to already had an Xbox profile attached--an accident from when it autogenerated one for me when I played an Xbox Live-enabled game on Windows 8. I don't know if this method would transfer Windows 8 app purchases over, but I thought I would provide the link in case you're willing to try it.
That rename feature may only be available for Hotmail users. I remember I was trying to get this switched over when Outlook.com was first released but couldn't find a way through the options in the Outlook.com control panel. But you can get pretty much the full Outlook.com experience by creating an alias through the settings page on Outlook.com. In the Manage Your Accounts section in the settings, you can select Your Email Accounts to change the default sending address to your alias, which would also apply to any device you may own. This option wasn't available when I was I was looking to do this, and I only found out just now searching for a solution for you. That seems as though you can use the superior Outlook.com interface through means of an alias--which allows you to send and receive messages--to ... Read more

As I have a couple of Gmail accounts, I use Outlook 2010 (running under Windows 7) to consolidate them together and use it for reading, sending and archiving all my emails.
Until recently I have been able to manage my emails without problem, but within the past few weeks I have run into problems sending emails using Outlook for my Gmail accounts. Messages are stored in my Outbook but will not send. This does not happen all of the time, only intermittently, and even if I press the send/receive button, or reboot Outlook 2010, the messages remain in the outbox.
The only way I have managed to send them is to reboot my PC and then restart Outlook - then the messages send automatically as they normally should do and the outbox is cleared. However after a while, and not on every Outlook session, the messages do not send from Outlook unless I reboot my PC again.
I have checked my email settings and as far as I can tell they are OK (as they normally work):
Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com and port 995
Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com and port 465
and outgoing server set to require authentication.
I get no error messages - the emails just remain in the outbox until I reboot the PC.
Can anybody advise how I can resolve this issue?
Many thanks for your help.

New on this forum so forgive me if I don't give all the info needed.

I'm trying to set up a new laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit) for my husband who uses both Virgin and Google mail. I want to use Outlook 2007 and IMAP mail accounts for both of these as he also uses a desktop and occasionally works from internet cafe's etc. Outlook 2007 appears to have installed successfully and is working properly for Virgin mail and for Google Calendar but whenever I try to send/recieve it stalls at 81% during Google folders sync (which is where most of his emails are stored). Sent mail and Virgin folders sync appear to be working OK (most of the time). The only time the Gmail folders sync correctly is the first time on start up. I've tried using Google unlock link which tells me I've unlocked successfully but still no joy.

Both accounts are working fine as webmail and IMAP is enabled.

Has anyone else experienced this. I've checked and checked the settings and still no joy. I have the same set up on my own laptop but that's running XP and works without problem (most of the time). I'm in dispair and on the point of switching to Thunderbird. Would that be the best solution (or perhaps even go back to Outlook 2003 since the more recent versions appear bug-ridden? I don't want to revert to POP service.

Hope there's someone out there who can help. Thanks.

Answer:Outlook 2007 Send/Receive stalls with Gmail

You have probably checked the set-up, but maybe one more time (it takes just one small 'error')...
To set up your Outlook 2007 client to work with Gmail:
Enable IMAP in Gmail. Don't forget to click Save Changes when you're done.
Open Outlook.
For new setups, select Do not upgrade.
Click Yes.
Enter your display name, email address (including '@gmail.com'), and password. Google Apps users, enter your full email address, e.g. '[email protected]_domain.com.'
Select the 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' checkbox.

Select Internet E-mail.
Settings: name, full email address (including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com')In the Account Type dropdown menu, select IMAP; enter the incoming and outgoing server names shown below.
In the 'User Name' field, give your full Gmail address, including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com.'
After creating these settings, clicking Next takes you to the end of the setup.
In the Tools menu, select Options then Mail Setup. Under 'Email Accounts,' click E-mail Accounts.
Select an account, and click Change above the list of accounts. Click More Settings, then the Advanced tab.Incoming server must be 993, and must use SSL encryption.
Outgoing server can use 587, TLS encryption.
Click the Outgoing Server tab. Make sure that 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' is selected. The radio button 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' should also be selected.

Click OK > Next > Finish > Close &g... Read more

Greetings,

Am running Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 x64. Small Solid State system drive. Large data drives.

After recovering from the dreaded recurring "Enter Network Password" hassle, I enabled IMAP (instead of POP) on my gmail account. (My Yahoo Plus account works fin with POP settings.) Now I see that in addition to my regular Inbox folder, I have a new folder called gmail, and it contains the subscribed sub-directories, or sub-folders.

It appears that the gmail folder resides on my smallish SSD on C:/USERS/MyName/<something> ... I would like to move that folder, or re-configure it if needed onto my D: drive since I know the gmail folder will grow.

I have learned that one small error in an Outlook setup can lead to DAYS of head-scratching and internet searching interspersed with too much trial-and-error (emphasis on the error), so I sure would love to learn the correct steps and do it right the first time.

I also want my mail to be displayed in my regular Inbox, not some other folder. I am running ODIR (Outlook Duplicate Items Remover) at this time so I can't really confirm that my mail from both Yahoo and gmail are arriving into the regular inbox. I dare not touch Outlook while this is running because it needs to remove perhaps 10,000 duplicates (created once I fixed the broken mail problem).

I know I am due for a good archiving session, but don't want to confuse the issues. I'm confused enough! lol?

TIA

drcarl

Answer:how do i get emails from outlook express 6 into outlook 2007?

I don't use Outlook, but I'd think the general procedure would be to:

1: Export from Outlook Express to location X

2: Open Outlook, use the import function, and navigate to location X.

Is that what you are doing?

Can you export in more than 1 format? If so, try another format.

It's also a good idea to make manual copies of all of your Outlook Express files (dbx, etc) in case your corrupt the originals during the export/import process.

Email export and import functions haven't improved in the last 10 years, so welcome to reality. I hate changing email programs for that reason.

There are applications out there designed to convert DBX to PST, but I don't know if they are required.

** Outlook 2003 Sorry wrong title **

Hi just having a problem with the sent items with one of our customers...

They can send emails no problem, they appear in the sent items folder after, but then every so often the emails just disappear, i thought she was just deleting them by accident or something but i sat in front had a look, and about 5 emails just cleared in front of me, cant figure out what it is at all.. Ive checked all the settings there's no setting to say delete after so long, and the save sent messages is ticked, Ive tried to mirror another accounts settings but no change. just wondered if anyone has had the same problem or knows how to fix it ?

Our next thought was re-install office and add the email account again

thanks in advance

Hello,

I think what you should try is to reinstall Outlook.

That seems to be the only solution.

Hi:

I'm sure there's an easy fix for this, I just don't know much about Outlook. I just set up my gmail account in Outlook 2007, and when I hit "Send/Receive", it started to download absolutely every e-mail I've ever gotten. I really don't want that... I'd like it to only download messages from today forward. How do I stop it from downloading everything? Thanks in advance!

Hi

I have recently changed my ISP to BT from Eclipse. Previously Outlook 2010 was configured to allow emails to be downloaded from the Eclipse servers and to enable me to send emails using Outlook 2010 using my Eclipse email address. I also have Outlook configured using IMAP to enable me to download emails from Gmail. I can no longer send emails using my eclipse email account.

Can someone help me to reconfigure Outlook so that I can send and receive emails using the Gmail servers from Outlook 2010 as my primary email source.

I wish to carry on using Outlook 2010 as I have many saved email folders in the account.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

Answer:How do I change my email account to Gmail from Eclipse in Outlook 2010

In "accounts" you simply need to change the default account for sending to the gmail account. Sorry if that's a bit vague but I haven't used outlook for ages (and don't have it).

I get a message about items not all indexed and if I click on index status it says outlook us currently indexing your items, 4393 items remaining across all open mailboxes. This number has not gone down in hours it may have actually went up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
