Cant read my emails on hotmail

Question: Cant read my emails on hotmail

Well,
Hotmail.com is just getting worst. I cant even open emails, I can actually see the inbox, but I cant open any of the emails at least that I browse in private navigation in firefox. But I already deleted, coockies, history, cache, updated java.

If I hadnt all my important mails in hotmail, I would already changed to gmail or something.

Thanks

Preferred Solution: Cant read my emails on hotmail

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Cant read my emails on hotmail

Microsoft seems to be making even more "improvements" to Hotmail, so maybe your current problem is, like highway construction, just a "temporary inconvenience."

To make sure that it is not something in your Firefox configuration have you tested with another browser? Or with Firefox's Safe mode?

When my partner logs in to her Hotmail email account on her computer it comes up with 45 emails in her inbox. But she cannot read any of them? When she clicks on any of them nothing happens.Using my computer I can log in to her Hotmail account and get the same 45 emails in her inbox. This time though, when I click on any one of them I can read them. She then sits on my computer and reads/answers all her emails. Alternatively, I forward them to her NTL email address. The problem seems to be with her computer, but what could it be?

Answer:Can't read emails on Hotmail

Its best not to keep emails in the inbox move them to a different folder if you want to keep them,One of the emails may have become corrupted try deleting the last one sent,

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me? A colleague of mine is trying to read emails from Hotmail. When the email appears, after the user clicks on the email from the inbox, an error message appears saying 'Microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to close'. This closes Internet Explorer. I then log onto Hotmail as myself and am able to view emails without any problems whilst logged on as the user's Windows XP login.

The user in question uses I.E. Version 6. I have tried deleting temporary Internet files and also cookies. I have also tried restarting the PC and also restarting the default settings on Internet Explorer which hasn't fixed the problem. Do you think upgrading the browser to version 7 would be the best way to fix this issue as the user has said he can access his Hotmail emails from home without any problems?

I would be grateful for any help.
Thanks.
Mark.

I can open my hotmail (msn) account but cannot open the emails listed in my inbox, move to a different section, delete mail or write new messages. It is all totally frozen. I have run my Norton AntiVirus, but it comes up clear. I think someone has hacked into my account and is using it to send out emails under my name because for the last week or so I have had some mail returned that I never sent... for things like Viagra.

Hi everyone

I tried to use Outlook 2002 to access my hotmail. I used the POP3 settings, got it to work, and hit send/receive. Now none of my emails from my Inbox are in my hotmail account when I use my web login. Why did it do this and how do I reverse it? I tried to find some answers on the Microsoft site but they give pretty generic answers there. The answers I've got here in the past were much better.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Answer:Hotmail + Outlook 2002 = no emails at Hotmail site

Try going to Tools > Email Accounts > View or change existing accounts > Select your account and click Change > Click More Settings > Advanced tab. From here there should be a check box that allows you to set whether you want your emails to be left on the server.

Answer:How to get my old Hotmail emails into my new Outlook Hotmail account

Here's how you add your Hotmail account to your Outlook.com account. I don't know if you'll get your messages over or not. They're two separate accounts that can't be merged.

Computer running XP and emails read in Outlook Express;
but compacted email are in recycle bin

Computer requested I compact the emails which I have done at least twice

However, on checking the recycle bin I note that there are items in there from the OE

I have been checking my recycle bin  and have done a' compact 'of the OE but it seems that the compacting sends things to the recycle bin?

What should happen if the computer asks for the  OE to be compacted? where does it send the compact?

I am having to go through the recycle bin line by line to see what I can safely completely delete but also when I try to restore an item it seems to  make a duplicate in the recycle bin !!

I can still read the emails in OE but where should the compacted emails  actually be saved? And how if at all can I get this corrected?

How if at all can this be corrected or resolved please?

Cannot receive emails from hotmail users to my NTL email account. This is happening to a lot of people I know, and to others who have posted on other forums on the internet. Have contacted NTL tech support (in India!) and they are less than helpful, insisting it is a Hotmail problem. ALL other emails from ALL other providers are coming through OK. NTL server is clearly blocking Hotmail, but what can I do???

Answer:Hotmail to NTL emails

having been very pleased to leave ntl behind when I moved I must say I never had any trouble getting hotmail. Are you going direct to hotmail.com or are you using some other system to obtain your e-mails?

hello this is my first post and I hope I can't find the answer to my problem with hotmail here.
I'm running a powerPC mac 256ram with safari 3.1.2 (I think it is the latest one) and I was having some trouble with hotmail. I opened the account 14 years ago in Malaysia (I'm living in London) and everything was running OK until last week. the add that is above hotmail's inbox (witch was always in Thai) started to cover the whole page, without me doing nothing. then I upgraded safari and the add thing was solved but now I can't access any of my emails. I can get to the inbox but that's pretty much it. I can't enter any email, or go to another folder, I can only sign out and move trough the hotmail, spaces and all that stuff that has nothing to do with the inbox.
please if anyone can help me I would really appreciate that, since I really need to use my hotmail account.
I've trued activation and de activation of java, deleting cookies, reseting safari, I'm really running out of ideas.... please help me out!!!
thank you very much in advance.

My wife has a Hotmail account. Occassionally and seemingly randomly, emails that she sends to my email (a corporate email) are not getting through. Some of the time, she gets a bounce back reply message. Sometimes she doesn't. When she gets it, all it says is:

"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipients failed."

She says my email address is the only one that bounces back to her. I had my IT guy check on it from our end, and when he looks in the system he sees:

"Diagnostics-Code: smtp; 503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local email address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server".

My IT guy said the forums he checked out showed hundreds of Hotmail users having similar problems, but he didn't tell me anything about the possible solution (yet).

Any ideas????????

I like to keep a copy of all emails I send, but with Hotmail that means remembering to tick the box at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to set Hotmail to automatically save a copy of ALL sent emails?

Answer:Saving Sent emails in Hotmail

According to Hotmail, there is no other setting:

To keep track of messages you send, you can place copies in the Sent Messages folder.

1. Go to the Mail page.
2. Click New, and then write your message.
3. Select Copy Message to Sent Messages Folder below the message area, and then click Send.

<NOTE: This is from their HELP area>

I did think at one time there was an option, but I guess that is not the case (as far as I know).

Answer:Hotmail blocking my emails

More likely your email address has been spoofed by spammers using it to hide thier email address, and has been blacklisted. I've been fighting this problem for years.

Another possibility is your computer is a zombie (infected with malware), sending email out when you aren't looking. You might think about following the procedure spelled out in the malware forum to see if this is the case.

As to getting a response from hotmail, you might see if you're friends or family using hotmail can leave feedback with MSN to resolve the issue. They are a lot more likely to pay attention to a customer than a potential spammer.

In all browsers, today and on other occasions, hotmail emails will not open. The top email, most recent, is highlighted and the round hourglass just circles and circles. If I move the cursor up and down the list of emails in the Inbox, the X and flag on the right become visible but clicking on them yields nothing. Since it occurs intermittently but in all browsers when it occurs, does this sound like an account or connectivity issue? I am on a good 3G connection with VPN enabled. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Sounds like a (Hotmail) server issue or a problem somewhere in the network between the server and your computer.

5-6 times per day.
They show up in the sent items folder.
They say things like
"are you unhappy in your job, want more money?" etc and a link to click
Changed the password a couple of times and after a while it happens again.
Unsure if there's a problem with the machine or maybe just the email account has been compromised...
PS my profile data is different to the machine I'm posting off.

Greetings all,
Got a strange one I can't seem to figure out. My wife has a Toshiba Netbook running Win7 with IE 8. Yesterday as she does everyday, she logged into her Hotmail, seen her new email but when she clicks on an available email, nothing happens.
Here is what I have checked so far:
1.) Cleared cookies and temp internet files
2.) Reset Internet Explorer
3.) Checked advanced settings under browser settings and made sure it was set to Automatic
4.) Opened up another hotmail account to see if it was account specific and could not open up emails in that account either.
5.) Opened Firefox on my linux machine and verified that I could open the emails under her hotmail account with no issue.

I have googled this issue but have not found the exact issue.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions, guidance, and help.

All the best,

For over a week all emails that I send from Oarnge (freeserve etc) to hotmail are not arriving. The same problem arose a year or so ago and it appeared that Hotmail was blocking these as they said that Orange carried too much spam and Orange were doing nothing about it. Just what is wrong with Orange/Hotmail that they cannot sort this out?

I'm glad I'm not the only one having the same problem, I too cannot send to a particular hotmail recipient for the last couple of weeks.I Have sent loads of emails to her, but none have arrived and like you, I'm with orange and thought because my email address has freeserve in it, hotmail has been blocking them. I use Thunderbird as my email client with no luck, I then sent her an email via my Orange web mail with no luck. I suggested she sent me an email so I could REPLY to it, so as to avoid typo errors...still no luck! This is most frustrating as I can receive all her emails with no problem. I live in hope...........thanks SURVEY.bretsky ;0)

Is it possible to find my hotmail emails from 2003 back to 2000
I have not deleted them, they were in a folder on the hotmail interface,Can only find emails from 2004 onwards

Answer:Hotmail emails pre 2004

What happened to the folder? Is it gone? Have you ever used an e-mail desktop program like Outlook Express? If you did, maybe you downloaded it using POP settings, and it's gone. If it's not in the web interface, and you can't find it downloaded anywhere, then you can't get it back. Microsoft doesn't restore e-mail for free accounts. I doubt they'd even keep a backup for a paid account going back 10+ years.

Since installing Outpost firewall on Tues. I cannot print off any emails received on my H'mail account but can on Outlook. I have set my printer, canon i350, as default and it has caused no problems over the last three months. I go to file then down to print but it just puts through a blank page.Should I dump Outpost if that is the cause of the problem and then reload my print or have I made an error somewhere.I am running XP, Thanks for any help

Answer:Cannot print emails from Hotmail.

Try opening Outpost and clicking on Options then Application and check if your browser is in Trusted Applications, if it isn't drag and drop it in there. The reason is Outpost might be blocking a port that the browser needs for printing.

Up until late last night i was receiving emails sent to 3 Hotmail addresses that i set up through Outlook Express. However this morning they don't work at all. I have been using these Hotmail accounts with OE for 5-6 years now. I am aware that no new Hotmail accounts can be used with OE unless you sign up to their premium service. The only thing that i have done since last night was to install the latest version of Internet Explorer 7.Does anyone know of any conflicts between Hotmail/OE/IE? Or of any other reasons why i cannot access my Hotmail accounts through OE?Thanks.

Answer:Cannot receive Hotmail emails through OE

Do a system restore back to 6.Like you I have been getting them for about 5 years So I will stay with 6. ;-)

What program was it you "signed up" for? Are you sending Hotmail via Outlook Express or using the website? OE has stationery backgrounds, but I'm not aware of this on Hotmail. Were there no instructions on the site you signed up to?

My ISP is Orange broadband (via a LiveBox router) and I have found that emails sent from both my webmail and Outlook Express no longer arrive at any Hotmail addresses including my own Hotmail address. No error message is received and the sent messages appear normally in my Sent Box with a date and time. This happens both with very brief emails and also longer ones with or without attachments. The unusual factor is that this has started recently as previously all emails sent to Hotmail arrived normally. No changes have been made by me recently which might have caused this

Contact your ISP first to see if it's a problem with their system before posting here.

If this is happening among many receipiants, I would look at reputation issues and bell your ISP for advice. Quite simply then: You are paying for a service which is not fit for purpose etc etc... They'll have to look at it for you, they're good like that!... ;)

I have a laptop running Windows XP and 2 days ago when I login to my Hotmail account it will not open any emails. I can successfully get to my inbox but once there I can do nothing else such as open emails, start a new email, go to another email folder. Nothing I click on will work.

I have IE8, Firefox 10.0.2, and Chrome and Hotmail will not work in any web browser.

I have Vista on another computer and hotmail works fine there.

I have Restored the laptop 2 times to previous dates where I know that hotmail was working fine with no success. I saw on article that said to set the Hotmail/Options/Privacy Settings to use HTTPS automatically and that has not corrected the problem either.

On IE8 I have reset to the original default settings and still no luck.

I would very much appreciate any further suggestions.

Thanks

Can someone please advice how to tackle this problem. Is the fault at my end or the Hotmai/Yahoo end ?

While they may not be blocking them, the spam filters used by Hotmail and Yahoo may be binning them for some reason. make sure that they are plain text with no graphics or attachments and see if they go through?

My wife has a Hotmail account, and she paid for the service with Hotmail that allows her to get her Hotmail on her Blackberry (Tmobile is the provider, if that matters). I am finding out from her what application she uses to read her Hotmail on her Blackberry (I am guessing Outlook Express? But maybe not).

The problem is this. She gets emails from a number of people, including me. However, from time to time she will get duplicate emails from me on her blackberry, when I've only sent the message once. I've asked her if she gets the same duplicate messages on Hotmail on the PC - I am waiting to hear back from her. Sometimes she gets one extra copy, sometimes two copies, and sometimes it is three or more. But I am the only person she gets multiple copies of emails from. I was sending them from my work email address. Then I changed to my Gmail, but she is still getting duplicate emails on occassion, but only from me. And in fact, it seems like it may be happening more frequently since I moved to Gmail. And it doesn't seem to matter whether I send the messages from the PC or my work's iPhone.

On one hand, I think the issue has to be on her end and is a result of some link between her Blackberry and Hotmail account. On the other hand, why am I the only person she is having the duplicate email issue with.

And ideas?

I do not generally use my hotmail account these days. I was thinking of changing that, and installed the new outlook connector, so that I could pull my hotmail emails into outlook, and sort them out with rules, etc.. Tame the inbox if you will..

Anyways, then I start to get emails from my friends saying why did you send me this crap.. Here is the body of the email if it helps..

Heya, how are you doing recently ? I would like to introduce you a very good company which i knew.Their website is www.trade-beauty.com .They can offer you all kinds of electronical products which you need like laptops ,gps ,TV LCD,cell phones,ps3,MP3/4,motorcycles etc........Please take some time to have a check ,there must be somethings you 'd like to purchase .
Their contact email: [email protected] .
Hope you have a good mood in shopping from their company !
Regards

There are of course some handy links in there, that I did not bother taking... Anyways.. I think outlook is compromised. I doubt it is my hotmail account itself, but maybe. Having never found myself in this situation, thought I would ask here for the best way to handle it..

Thanks for your assistance!!

Answer:Hotmail hijacked. Sent emails to all my contacts..?? Help..

E-mail spoofing

A feature of the protocol that email is based upon is that the email message itself has a number of spaces (data fields) for information like the "intended recipient", "sender's email address" and the "return email address", "CC", "BCC", etc etc. within the email datagram (think of email like a picture postcard with spaces for the sender name and address as well as name and address of the person it is being sent to).

What someone has done (or rather set up a piece of software to do) is send a spam email to so many million email addresses with the sender's FROM email address set to be the same as the "intended recipient's" TO email address. This is done for two main reasons, partly to try to get past email spam filters that filter on known spammer's FROM addresses (or email domains) and partly to hook your interest in getting an email from yourself - which it achieved.

So the spammer is not sending spam email from your email account (that is - they are not hacking into your account and typing messages), but simply using your email address to send spam email to you. Just as if you had got a picture postcard through the post addressed to you with the offer of cheap Viagra but was signed with your name.

I've scoured the Internet for solutions, and while I've given countless attempts to no avail, I want to give this one last try.

I've mainly tried to use Outlook 2002 (as that's the version I have) by connecting it to my original email account. That went smoothly. Then I exported all my messages to a .pst file. Though that had some hiccups along the way, that also went smoothly. I then connected Outlook 2002 to my new email address - it received the few messages that were already there, so that was fine.

I then imported my original email messages via the .pst file into my new account (still in Outlook). All the emails showed up, in the right folders and perfect. The only problem now, is getting the Hotmail web client to recognize these.

I also forwarded all the messages as attachments as one email message and tried moving the attachments, but (though this sounds incredibly picky), it did not preserve the timestamps.

I've seen Windows Live Mail and am reluctant to use it, though I will if I have no other choice.

So, if there's any way at all to transfer my email messages -no matter how long-winded- that'd be great! If not, I'll have to cope with Live Mail or some other client, or without those timestamps.

If it's relevant, I am running Windows XP (SP2). If there are any other details I need to/should provide, I'm perfectly willing.

Thanks in advance!

I can't send any emails from Pipex to any Hotmail account. The "bounce" message reads:"5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems."We can receive emails from Hotmail, and Hotmail to Hotmail is OK (we've tested it), and a friend who uses btinternet for her emails has no problem getting emails to Hotmail (we've tested that too!).I suspect this has got to be sorted out between the ISPs, it seems that Hotmail doesn't like Pipex (not surprising, neither do we in recent times; our Pipex days are probably now numbered). Has anyone else had the same problem or can offer any comments or solutions?

Answer:Emails from Pipex to Hotmail keep bouncing

Assuming you are using Outlook, you need to tick the box that says "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication", under more settings in account settings.

Hotmail will store deleted emails for a week so you should be able to go into your Deleted folder and retrieve the email.

I haven't received an email in my Hotmails account for over 5 hourrs and I am expecting something important. I have checked all my folders and rules and filters with no luck. Where did my mail go????

Answer:Solved: Not receiving Hotmail emails

Are you looking at the emails via webmail or an email program like Windows Live Mail? If the latter go to www.hotmail.com to check your emails. Also check the spam/junk folder one more time.

Hello. Recently, my hotmail account sent random emails to my contacts. This has happened before with me and I changed my password, and it was fixed but it is happening again now.

First step I took was contacted hotmail...and they looked into my running processes and told me: under the "user name", if it doesn't show your name, then someone is controlling your computer or in other words, they are running something on your machine. The technician pointed out a few processes:

1. atieclxx.exe
2. csrss.exe
3. winlogin.exe
4. VESMgrSub.exe

I googled these and some sites say they are malware/trojan and others say they are part of the computer.

So, in the end my questions are:
1. how did hotmail account sent those emails randomly?
2. Are these processes "ok" or are they really a threat to the computer?
3. If they are, what should I do to remove them.

Note: I do have Norton Anti-Virus software running.
