Problem handling mass emails from outlook and/or Gmail

Question: Problem handling mass emails from outlook and/or Gmail

So we have a little networking group which is a Fun non-profit thing here in Atlanta,
and we have a little over 500 names on the mailing list and counting.

What is the Best Free solution to emailing the whole mailing list all in one go?

Both Outlook and have restrictions over a certain number of email address's.
We tried, but that has restrictions also, and many of those emails end up going to our recipients junk mail folder.

We don't do any fancy invite newsletter stuff, but putting together a Microsoft Publisher mail-out would be a nice option. but we prefer the quick and simple shout-out with a few words on time and place!

Does anyone have a good solution?
Thank you in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Problem handling mass emails from outlook and/or Gmail

I don't know about in the States, or about other ISPs', but my ISP here in Canada would require that I have a business connection, not residential, in order to do any kind of mass e-mailing.

The question really says all about what I want to do, or need help on. I recently signed up for a new outlook account to try out the new outlook preview and I've set up gmail to automatically forward new messages to my outlook account so that I can use outlook to manage my gmail account.

Do any of you know how I would be able to forward the old messages, and not the new ones, to my outlook? I already know that they can be fetched into outlook by outlook's very own service, forwarding would be faster, so..?! Also, since I now use outlook to send email on behalf of my gmail account, how do I make it sync each email I send using outlook with my gmail - so that gmail has it all?

TY in advance. Please do help.

Until two days ago I had no problems sending gmail via Now I get an error message saying 'Your outgoing server does not support SSL-Secured connections." No changes were made to the email account settings. I have checked them : the ports are correct and the SSL box is ticked for both incoming and outgoing ports. I use Norton and MS and both do automatic updates from time to time. I wonder if some update is causing the difficulty? Any ideas about what could be blocking my outgoing messages would be appreciated.

As I have a couple of Gmail accounts, I use Outlook 2010 (running under Windows 7) to consolidate them together and use it for reading, sending and archiving all my emails.
Until recently I have been able to manage my emails without problem, but within the past few weeks I have run into problems sending emails using Outlook for my Gmail accounts. Messages are stored in my Outbook but will not send. This does not happen all of the time, only intermittently, and even if I press the send/receive button, or reboot Outlook 2010, the messages remain in the outbox.
The only way I have managed to send them is to reboot my PC and then restart Outlook - then the messages send automatically as they normally should do and the outbox is cleared. However after a while, and not on every Outlook session, the messages do not send from Outlook unless I reboot my PC again.
I have checked my email settings and as far as I can tell they are OK (as they normally work):
Incoming mail server: and port 995
Outgoing mail server: and port 465
and outgoing server set to require authentication.
I get no error messages - the emails just remain in the outbox until I reboot the PC.
Can anybody advise how I can resolve this issue?
Many thanks for your help.

Hi, when I searched the forums for posts on Microsoft outlook I found posts in the windows and the computer software areas, a majority of the posts appeared here so I thought I'd try posting here.Okay, here's my situation: I currently have an email account with Adelphia and I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 to access that it account.  I setup Outlook so that when I receive the emails from the Adelphia account Outlook removes them and transfers them to Outlook (meaning a copy of the emails don't remain in my Adelphia inbox).  I've decided that I want to stop using Outlook, mainly due to the fact that it makes it difficult to access my emails from computers not on my network account.  I've decided to switch to a gmail account (for other reasons involving irritation with Adelphia). My problem is that I can't figure out how to get my emails from Outlook 2003 to my new gmail account.  I've looked in the questions and answers section, the forum, and both faq on gmail and outlook official pages and still can't figure it out.  I think I've figured out a way to redirect new incoming mail, but that's not my concern what I need is to redirect my old emails.  I know that I could just forward all of my old emails to my new gmail account, but that will be a huge hassle and the emails would then show up as being sent from me and not the original sender.  If I can't figure out another solution I'll do th... Answer:help transfering emails from outlook to gmail

I'm not absolutely sure but I doubt very much this can be done.  Think about it.  With Outlook, your mail is on your hard drive, not out on the Internet.  With Gmail, it is out on the Internet; it's web-based mail.  I looked at the info on Gmail on Google's site and, like you, found nothing about transferring mail from Outlook.  So, I no other option but to forward the mail to yourself if you really must get it all moved over to Gmail.

I use Outlook 2010 which syncs to my IMAP Gmail account.
This works very well.

Today something happening in Outlook (I might have dragged something, I don't know) and my mails (12,500 of them) ended up in Outlook's deleted items folder. Some Gmail folders just vanished, like Sent Items, Bin and Spam.

I immediately quit Oulook before it synced so all my mails are still safe on Gmail's servers. I checked via logging in to the Gmail website and also disabled IMAP to be safe.

I need some advice on how to fix the emails in Outlook.
I'm afraid that if I start syncing the mails will be lost from Gmail.
I also don't want to start a new Outlook .pst file as there are many gigs of emails to sync.

Does anyone have some advice?

Hi All,

I use outlook for about 4 email addresses (work and personal). I also do volunteer work for a charity and have an email address for that which is a gmail account.

I have tried repeatedly to set this gmail account up in Outlook but it didn't work. The only way I have found is to have two separate outlook account where I choose if I want to open my normal account of the charity account but cannot do both at the same time.

This is very frustrating as I need to be able to see my calendar and contacts when using the charity account.

Hi there,

I've recently set my parents up with a Gmail account but am having problems with transferring their emails from an Outlook PST file to their new account. I've tried following the tutorial at the link below without success - mainly due to the fact that Outlook seems to be very unstable on their machine (hence the change to Gmail).

Are there any other ways of migrating these emails across to their new account? Note that the migration tool offered by Google does not work as the Gmail account isn't connected to Google Apps for Business.

One possible solution is that I could migrate their emails via my Google Apps for Business account though I imagine it would take forever to then forward these emails onto them (most likely manually using the Forward) option?

so I just connected outlook 07 with my gmail account, after deleting unwanted emails in outlook, the deleted emails still marked as unread and still there in my gmail account.

does any know how do I delete emails in my gmail just by using outlook?

Answer:deleting emails in outlook, not connecting with gmail

Depending on how you're connecting to gmail it may not be possible. I know it's not possible to delete emails on the web server if you're using an HTTP or IMAP connection. By default, most tutorials tell you to use IMAP and POP isn't enabled be default on a gmail account.

To Enable Pop in Gmail:

1. Sign in to Gmail.
2. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
4. Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
5. Choose what to do with your messages after they're accessed with your POP client or device.
6. Configure your POP client* and click Save Changes.

To Configure Outlook 2007 to connect via POP:

1. Enable POP in your email account. Don't forget to click Save Changes.
2. Open Outlook.
3. Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings...
4. On the E-mail tab, click New...
5. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, Select POP and then select Next.
6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
7. Click Next... You're Done. (Manual Cofiguration)

OK...Running Vista Home Basic on my Dell PC...5 days ago at 9:23pm I received my last email in Outlook (2007). Computer was idle at work. No problems for 4 years until now. 2 weeks ago went with a new ISP and did not change the codes for SMTP/Pop3/Imap because it was all working the exact same way--frankly, didn't think about it. Come in and there are no new emails. Hit Send/Receive and nothing happens. NO WAY, I get 50 a day. Go to Gmail account and it stopped at the same time. Find all new messages in Trash folder then all filters were removed to see what happened next. Emails were visible on screen (inbox) after that-and still are. After that, gmail icon started showing bottom right of my screen with my incoming emails--FROM 2009/10/11! All I had deleted last year and I am sure I emtied. My Outlook number of items in Inbox continues to grow every time I hit Send/Receive, lines "bounce" on screen as if items are going to appear but they don't. I get the outlook envelope showing emails from January to March 2012 downloading along with New Items in Mailbox icon as of today. I can hit on the email as it (icon) pops up and read it but if it passes it is totally GONE! Since gmail was fixed, about 7000 emails have gone into my inbox but not one of them are visible. I feel it will continue to download until we get to the present date as it is downloading from past to present. I have since entered the new ISP information, got the Congratulations on my test email... Read more

Answer:2007 Outlook/Gmail Account --Where are my emails going??

Any chance your old ISP was Rogers?

I thought that when you use POP , your email address is hosted and stored by the ISP.
Meaning, say your ISP was called Teleweb, your email address would have been [email protected].

I'm confused as to why you did not need to change the POP settings if you changed ISPs.

Im thinking your old ISP cancelled or disabled your email account, which may be contributing to the problem.

Also Gmail is webmail, so ISPs cannot influence how Gmail behaves. Were you forwarding your mail to the gmail account?

in outlook 2010, i understand one can use a gmail account without actually opening up the gmail account, that is he can run the account from outlook, does that mean one can delete messages also, just like a regular account.
when i try to delete a message, it deletes it from the inbox of that gmail account in outlook 2010, but under the gmail folder it updates itself, and downloads it again, even after i delete it from the gmail folder also.

Answer:deleting gmail emails from outlook 2010 folder

Hallo tapuz, you may have to sign into your gmail account and delete all your old messages.
From there select settings in the top RH corner
Then select Forwarding & pop/imap tab
In the pop download column go to option 2 and in the drop down box select delete gmails copy
Then select save changes.
This will stop gmail saving a copy once Outlook has downloaded it to your computer.
I hope this solves your problem, if not post back

Unfortunately many of us get flooded with empty emails which seem to be used to determine if our email addresses are active. It we open these emails a signal is sent to a mailing list seller who keeps the email address on his lists. I have been advised to always only read my email off-line to avoid this problem. It seems to work but takes a month or two before the siege abates. Then when you forget to go off-line or open an offending email which gets you back on the lists and it starts over again.
Does anyone know for sure that this method is really effective? Is there a better way to handle this without resorting to keeping your email address secret except to the trusted few?
I have several email accounts and the one affected most is the one I use with Outlook Express. I have tried Outlook but don't need all its functions it has.

I have a Windows 10 phone. I use the Outlook Mail app that comes with the phone. My current email is a Gmail. When I loaded my phone I used my Microsoft account, which is also linked to my gmail account. In outlook, I made sure to ADD my GMAIL account and use the snych settings for email, calendar and contacts.
Calendar is great, contacts are great. When I check my emails, the emails come in just fine.
When I delete an email in the outlook app on my phone. The email is still in my GMAIL. I have tried to look up different things I can do but I can only find responses that do not work.
I would really like to use the Outlook app for my phone, but sometimes I do check my email on a computer. I would like those 2 to work with each other. Not by themselves.

Hello. I currently have Windows XP installed w/ McAfee Total protection / wireless network, the works. I'm usually good, however, I currently know that I have to have some kind of virus that McAfee isn't picking up this time. In my task bar you can see McAfee scanning emails. However, I am not sending any emails. My outlook isn't even open. Occassionly a message comes up & says "message cannot be sent" & I can view the McAfee log. All the messages seem to have the same subject: "The Best Replica".

If I try & hit <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Del>, my task manager is grayed out.

It just looks like I'm sending 100's of emails. My name or email do not seem to be associated with any of them. The McAfee email scanning is really really slowing down my computer because it is scanning so many emails.

Also, if you look in my outlook sent box, they are not listed there either.

How do I stop this???? It has to be a virus!

Ok it's kinda complicated to explain so I will do my best.

My computer has been sending out mass emails for about a week now, I only know this because norton pops up all over the place telling me that its scanning emails, sometimes it stops for a while and sometimes it's sending them nonstop. I've ran a dozen virus scans with a dozen different scanners, includeing a registered norton antivurus.

The only hint I'm going on after all this time now is a program called TCPView that I downloaded and ran that shows winlogon.exe all over the place all different ports when emails start going out. The worm(guessing its a worm) is useing its own SMTP because I don't have one setup on my computer.

A friend of mine that works in tech. support has been over doing alot to the computer also but he can't figure it out, he was useing hijack this I've never used it, but gonna load it real quick and put a copy of the log into here, since I see you guys always asking for a copy of a log. the computer is not currently sending out emails thou. Also this TCPView program never shows Winlogin.exe unless emails are going out. This week's airing of some 30,000 compromised Windows Live and Google Mail accounts has coincided with a spike in spam from those two services that promote sketchy electronics dealers, a researcher said.
Over the past few days, spam promoting fraudulent electronics stores has increased by as much as 40 per cent, according to Patrik Runald, senior manager of security research at Websense. Almost all of it originates from Hotmail or Gmail addresses and most are sent only to contacts in the address book of the compromised account.

I recently had problems with my computer where it was infected and there was malware. After many attempts to get rid of the problems ( with help from you guys ), we decided the best course of action was format the hard drive. I did a clean install and although my computer seems to be running OK, mass emails have been sent from my address book at least twice. Once right after the install and once now (about 2 1/2 months later). I've continuously run scans with AVG, Malwarebytes and Spybot which all come back clean. However, because of the emails, I fear I'm still infected. Can someone please help.

What can be done about MailerDaemon returns for mass mailers not actually sent from the email address the failed delivery messages are being returned to? What or who is actually causing these? I have customers calling to ask me about this, and now a friend of mine is having the same problem!

I'm trying to mass transfer e-mails from one e-mail account into another e-mail account. The e-mail account that I'm trying to transfer OUT of has disabled it's ability to send out individual e-mails. (It's ending it's free webmail usage.) I was wondering: if the website has disabled the ability to send out individual e-mails, would that make it impossible to mass transfer e-mails to the new e-mail account. You know, where you have to enter the port number, the incoming server name, and all that stuff. Can it be done?

Answer:Try to mass transfer emails from account to another

difficult to say , i'm afraid
what is the email system - just the bit after the @

A lot of email systems LIMIT the number of emails/receipiants that you can send in any time period
Hour/Day etc
for example gmail limits to 500 a day
Other companies have a lot of different limits

it maybe possible to use an email client like thunderbird
and connect to the server using POP or IMAP , so that ALL the emails are transfered onto the PC
then using the new email account
setup on thunderbird as IMAP
and then copy all the emails into that account , and they should transfer to the new system.

Although my email send is working OK
I often transfer emails sent to my domain name (as the storage is only 100MB - very small)
and emails i want to to keep are kept on the PC and also kept on another email system
by transferring as mentioned

On august 5th people my mother and I had previously emailed received a number of junk emails from our email addresses. The only link between the two being a shared computer running Vista that has those addresses set up in the Windows Mail program. I removed the phone cable when I realized this was happening. After a number of false starts where the computer froze, most likely due to conflicts with my anti-virus program (AVG Free and Spybot-S&D) I finally got Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware to run and it found an infected registry entry for Adware.Minibug All other scans have been clean but searching the internet it seems that this virus normally comes with more files than just one registry entry so I don't entirely trust them. Attached are DDS and GMER logs as well as two MBAM logs. If someone could look over these and reassure me that this computer is actually clean and can be connected back to the internet without doing that again I would appreciate it.

Welcome to Major Geeks!

You should not be trying to delete files on your own. C:\WINDOWS\system32\KGyGaAvL.sys is not a problem. It is for DivX.

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
TDSSserv Non-Plug & Play Driver Disable

If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
Helpful Notes:

If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

I'm having a problem with my PC sending out mass spam emails. They don't seem to have much effect on system speed, and the only reason I'm even aware that they're being sent is that Norton attempts to scan each one, and in turn giving errors for all those which can't be delivered, until it crashes.

I have yet to be contacted by my ISP, so I don't know if any of the emails are even arriving, but regardless it can't be a good thing.

I'm tried Adaware, Spybot S&D, Housecall, and Norton AV scans, too no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I'm about to do a clean install of WindowsXP on my laptop and I would like to be able to save my emails that are in Outlook Express 6. I've started backing them up as text files, but since there are literally more than a thousand separate emails, that would be kind of difficult. So I was wondering if anyone might know of a quick solution to convert all the emails into text files. Maybe a program of some sort?

Thanks so much!

I have multiple accounts with outlook 2003 and looking for advice on how to handle them. For instance, is it possible for emails I receive from one account to go straight in to a specific folder keeping work and personal seperate? Is there also a function for me to add a different signature for each account? If not is their software that would do this?

Many thanks

Answer:Handling Multiple Accounts With Outlook

Use th message rule feature listed in the Tools tab to move, copy, forward, delete, or any combination of these commands. While the following article was written to control email, in Outlook Express, it very much applies to all version of Outlook and Outlook Express.Controlling Junk Mail in Outlook ExpressEDIT IN:I over looked the request for multiple signatures. In Outlook 2002 (Which I have) can be configured with several signature by going to Tools, then Options, and selecting the Mail Format tab. At the bottom you can create as many signatures as you wish.Outlook 2002 Help and How-toIn Outlook Express go to the Signatures tab in the Options located in the Tools.Again it will allow you to assign several signatures and apply the ones you want on the fly.Personalize Your E-Mail MessagesI hope this was helpful and not too confusing.

Hi,I am running Windows XP Pro and have Microsoft Outlook 2000 installed. I have it set up so it checks two different email adddresses for me. Then processes them into different folders based on rules. This is fine. However when I send an email I can not specify what email address I am sending it from? Has anyone come across this before? Thanks,:Ant

Answer:Handling Multiple Addresses in Outlook

Hi Ant,When you have selected 'New' mail, just above on the tool bar is an 'Accounts' option with a drop down arrow - click on this and this will allow you to decide the email account to use to send the email.HTH.Jim

There was a previous thread on this forum marked closed regarding random emails that were not showing up in Outlook that do show up in Gmail. This should be re opened because it is still happening to me. Several emails that do show up in my Gmail account never show up in my Outlook inbox. I don't like the gmail interface but cannot rely on everything showing up in Outlook so I find myself duplicating effort by using both to make sure I don't miss anything. Any suggestions on receiving "all" of my email in Outlook?

So, I lost my phone a few weeks ago and am getting a replacement shortly (iPhone 4! woot)

I had recently restored my computer (about a week ago) to find that everything except my contacts were still on my backup drive. For some reason, the folder was just empty. I knew the folder had them in there before reformat because I checked.

So now I'm trying to get my contacts off of my Gmail account (they're on there because of the Nexus One I owned for a little while had synced them to my Gmail account, which I am greatful for )

When I go into my Gmail Contacts on the site and click "Export -> Everyone (All Contacts)", it gives me one file. "google.csv" for the Google CSV format option, "contacts .csv" for the Outlook CSV format option, and "contacts.vcf" for the vCard format option. The first two options give me an excel spreadsheet with all the information in them. The last one gives me a single contact (the person who's first on my contact list...)

Am I doing something wrong? I want to export all of these contacts as individual contact files, but I don't think that's possible, is it?

Well at any rate, I just want my contacts from Gmail on my desktop for archiving. Is there any way this can be done?

Thanks for any help

Answer:Problem with Gmail Contacts and Outlook

You will have to import the contacts to Outlook and then export them again. Sadly since you are doing it from a web based interface, they only do single files not individual files for the contacts.

Greetings all,Firstly, thanks to the community for being here, to help the uninitiated like me.Having said that, here's a gist of my problems, and what actions I've taken over the past 2 days.I have Symantec Endpoint Protection for Small Business Edition installed on my PC running Win 7 - 32 bit. Sometime yesterday, I started getting tons of error messages from Symantec, which basically informed that my PC was attempting to send multiple emails to random recipients, and that Symantec was blocking them each time - the problem is, the pop-up msg keeps appearing like 30 times every second. Furthermore, the problem was compounded, when I tried to check my email msgs (I use Mozilla Thunderbird) - and I received an error - which basically said that Symantec was blocking login to my POP account, due to malicious activity.I am posting the log file below.I must add here, that when I ran HijackThis, I got an error message:"For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any Highjacked Domains are in this file, HijackThis may NOT be able to fix them."I will be extremely grateful if someone could take a few moments and help me get this hellishly-annoying problem rid-of, once and for all. Thanks in advance,ArcodiacHijackThis Log FileLogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4Scan saved at 10:42:59 PM, on 4/16/2011Platform: Windows 7 (WinNT 6.00.3504)MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.7600.16722)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\Windows\s... After months of trouble free access to my gmail account through Outlook 2003, it has suddenly started prompting me for my password to access POP (SMTP is fine). It is saying my user name/password is wrong.I have double checked the settings and all seem as they should be. I have not made any system changes or downloaded any updates for several days now so I am not sure why I am suddenly having this problem. My other e-mail accounts that I access through Outlook are OK. This includes Sky, which uses Gmail services. I can access Gmail through the internet, but I would much rather automate it through OutlookIs anyone else having an issue with this today?

I am using windows 10 on a Dell desktop, and I believe I am using Outlook 2013.
My main email account is with Comcast, and it is working fine. I wanted to add a gmail account in Outlook, and I believe that I managed that ok-the test of incoming and outgoing servers worked ok. But I cannot receive any email sent from gmail senders, including myself. The gmail messages show up in Gmail's Inbox, but they do not come through to my Outlook. Comcast can not help, of course. I have not tried Gmail support yet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have an HP notebook & Dell Desktop .
I set up one Gmail Account that I wanted to have transfered to my Outlook Express (account) on both my computers.
I created an account in Gmail and set it up ok, everything transfered over alright to both computers Outlook Express accounts.
But I can only open & read the mail in the HP's Outlook Express.
When I try to read it on the Dell I cannot open the mail at all and Loading is at the top of the page & never goes away.
Can I only have the Gmail sent to one computer for me to be able to open it ?
Do I need to make the Dell's Outlook Express a different Gmail account in order for it to work so I can read the mail ?
Hope this is making sense.

I've been running an Outlook 2003 client to my AOL mail using IMAP for quite a while.
I just tried to create a 2nd connection to my gmail account and I have been unable to establish the connection.
I was pretty careful following the gmail instructions - enabling IMAP there; and, I was also pretty careful to follow the instructions on the outlook side. But, I've gone over it and over it and can't find the problem.....

It's caused me to wonder if Outlook 2003 can manage 2 IMAP connections at the same time?

I also noticed that the AOL connection in Outlook requires specific ports for each connection (send/receive) but there was nothing about that in the gmail instructions.

I also know that I've entered incorrectly several times. But, unless I'm going blind, I entered correctly for the address of the outgoing mail server.

As I have a couple of Gmail accounts, I use Outlook 2010 to consolidate them together and use it for reading, sending and archiving all my emails.

Answer:Outlook 2010: Intermittent problem sending Gmail messages

Not sure if related, but I am running Outlook 2007 on Windows 8 and have one Gmail and one Godaddy email account tied in (have had others in past but removed long ago), and I too am intermittently not able to get Outlook to send emails from my Outbox.

Normally, closing down Outlook and reopening it would solve the issue, but today I was completely stuck. I updated and rebooted my PC, and then after logging in and testing connection settings, it tests successfully, but the email never left the inbox.

I tried changing from outgoing port 587 to 465 but that resulted in it failing the test and then still not being able to send.

I changed back to 587 and restarted outlook and email is working again.

My Outlook 2000 program is giving me problems with the email.

When I send or forward an email, it keeps showing up in the inbox and outbox after it is sent, even if I have deleted it from them and then deleted it from the "deleted items" box.

It has been doing this for a couple of months, and I cannot find any settings that have been changed, have run every anti-virus I have (4), run anti-trojan programs etc. Nothing stops it from doing this.

Anyone ever had a similar problem?

Hi – can anyone sort out this problem, please?
Scenario: one old laptop, one new one. Shared subscription with Office 365 Home, put on old laptop, three email addresses set up in Outlook, Office deactivated and put on new one. Using exactly the same details (user names, email addresses, passwords), but I can’t set up any email addresses.
What am I doing wrong? In desperation, I deactivated, uninstalled and reinstalled Office on the new laptop. I also downloaded Windows Live Mail and set them up in the blink of an eye.
I’ve spent hours on this and have had an on-line chat with Plusnet, but I think I’m now going round in circles.

Answer:Problem with Outlook, emails and new laptop

On the basis that you are using Windows, and your are using Outlook for Office, you need to locate the .pst file for Outlook on your old laptop. Copy it to the same location on your new laptop. Direct Outlook on your new laptop to the location of the .pst file and it should populate your Outlook with all of the info it had when it was on your old laptop.

can someone tell me what Im doing wrong

Answer:Problem not getting emails from yahoo on my outlook

Here is a link that should help you get it set up correctly. One thing to check is your incoming and outgoing server.

Also, if you are still having issues, be sure to scroll down to troubleshooting. A lot of times is something simple.

For some unknown reason I can send or receive emails in Outlook Express, every now and then I am prompted to enter my user name and password, which I do. It gets hung up on the "authorising" stage.
I can log in to my ISP and access my emails online, but not through Outlook Express?
Any ideas folks?
Thank you
P.S. After a time I get error messages..."your password is being rejected"

I know that I'll probably be advised that I have completely the wrong set up but I need to seek advice about the problem I have.I have a broadband account with Tiscali (I know, a problem in itself). I have a domain name with several email addresses. I import these email addresses from the domain name host's webmail server into outlook. It is outlook 2003 on windows 7. Everything was fine until a couple of weeks ago; a time when Tiscali was being changed over to TalkTalk. There are still ongoing problems with this change over.I currently can't pull in one of the email domain name addresses. All the settings in outlook are correct. I connected to the webmail through a non Tiscali broadband and could pull them in without a problem. My domain name host set up an outlook account to run a test and they had no difficulties with any of my email addresses. These points make me think that it is a Tiscali broadband problem and not an outlook problem. My one contradiction is that it doesn't seem to make sense that I can pull in emails under one address and not another. Currently the Tiscali speed is 480 kbps. Could this be a factor?Any comments would be appreciated including suggestions for an alternative broadband supplier.ThanksMichael

Just wondering how this can be resolved. I'm stumped. This what I have tried so far to resolve this.

1. Check for a duplicate account.
2. Check to see if messages are set to break up and repeat.
3. Disabled Email Scanning by the antivirus program.
4. Checked rules for anything coping or duplicating to another folder.
5. Checked to see if "keep a copy of messages on server" is ticked.
6. Recreated the profiles with no success.

Is there anything else that I can try to resolve this? I'm lost.

Our office uses outlook but receive a lot of Lotus emails from other parts of the company who use LN. Anyhow when a user tries to open the email, it starts Lotus Notes which even after logging in still doesn't work. It tries to find the correct server. I've verified w/ the sender that it's not a link or attachment but somehow outlook thinks it is. We use Win XP and Outlook Xp and 03 and it's happening on both.

any help is appreciated

Within my email client I have a account setup as a POP3 account. I was informed if I wanted to move emails from one IMAP account to another IMAP which is simply moving emails from one folder to another folder within my email client; folder being an email account (IMAP) to a account I would have to re-create the account, in this case the account from POP3 to IMAP which I've done; but when I go to to verify if those email which I moved from one IMAP account to the (IMAP) account they don't appear on ?

Answer:outlook express 6. problem. duplicate emails.

I can't come up with an explanation Paul, but I can tell you it happens to me from time to time.It isn't every email that gets duplicated just a batch of them for a while then it goes back to normal.I think it's probably something to do with the ISP.

Upgraded from W7 to 10 a month ago. Printer worked fine for everything EXCEPT Outlook (Hotmail) emails, - just shows a picture of 2 mobile phones and the message "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in at the moment. Please try again later". Following advice from another forum, I deleted and reinstalled the printer (an old HP6940). Now, although the printer is "recognised", it won't print anything at all! This seems to be a problem others have had. Can someone advise me in very simple easy to follow language please!

Answer:Printing outlook emails Windows10 problem

Is it set at the Default Printer?
If you haven't got Control Panel on your desktop or menu then the easiest way to find out is to click on the Small Win 10 Start logo, scroll up to Settings and click on that. Click on Devices which should give you a list of connected peripherals.
Make sure that your printer is listed then scroll down to the blue printed Devices and printers and click on that.
Control Panel will open (it sometimes takes a little while to populate first time) then scroll down to the printers and make sure that there is a green tick over your HP6940.
If not Right Click it and click on Set as Default Printer.

For some reason my e-mails are disappearing in Outlook Express and the program says that other messages which have been downloaded have not been. Any idea why this could be happening??? It's very unnerving. I have a lot of e-mails that I have kept unread to come back to when I have more time. Now everything after July 2005 is gone.

Hi, each time I open Outlook (not Outlook Express), the 'send/receive' dialogue at the bottom of the screen says it's sending 1 of 4 messages. It then stops and comes up with an error, telling me to contact my ISP.I did this, but they ignored my question and merely told me to get the account validated by Yahoo - the messages were being sent from a sub account address. I'd already tried a test email from Outlook anyway and the Yahoo procedure said the address was ok too. I have all my emails forwarded from Yahoo to Outlook. I've since sent plenty of emails from this sub account without any problems. It just seems as if they are stuck - any idea what the equivalent of a dose of Ex-Lax would be for Outlook? There's nothing that I can actually see to delete, and if I cancel send/receive, it simply repeats itself the next time I use it.Thanks

Question: Gmail emails?

I have an email address with my ISP which is not Google. However, I also have a Gmail account with a totally different email address.

Now her is the question: My Gmail web mail software is much easier and faster to load and navigate than that of my ISP web mail software.

Is it possible to open my Gmail and have the emails from my ISP be retrieved on my Gmail?

Question: Gmail emails

I just started typing out an email in gmail's web application. I needed to cut or copy the text to Outlook but it wouldn't give me that option. Is there a way to do that or are you stuck once you start with the only option of deleting? I even went to my draft sub folder and it wouldn't let me move the text.

I went and did everything it tells you to in the process of setting this up. It now has the option to recover deleted emails but when I click on it the box that opens up is empty and all things are grayed out in it. When I click on the button it actually goes to the show in favorites button so something is wrong. What is it?

Answer:How to recover deleted emails in outlook 2010 problem.

Recovering deleted items is only an option if you are on an Exchange server.

I have over 200 emails I need to print in Outlook, however, when I select all, it gives me this error:

"One or more of the items you tried to print does not support printing and did not print."

I can print each on individually from the same preview pane, but I have a
task at hand where I need to print some 200 messages. I even narrowed it down by attempting to take 5-6 at a time to see if there is an isolated error, but it still gives me the error message on many different variations I try when selecting multiples. Again, I can print each individually, but not by selecting all at one time.

Any Ideas??!!?? Please Help!

We are having problem with my wife's email (Outlook Express 6.0) on her computer which uses XP Home OS SP3. First thing that happened was that her mail settings disappeared. I reentered them this morning, and then emails started coming in clear back to November 2009 (probably as far back as those on the server). Anyway, the only emails that visibly appear on her screen are those through 7/13. The incoming numbers keep advancing in the Inbox, but I can't find out where they are actually going, unless they are self-deleting. There is no increase in the deleted items folder number though. Any idea what might be going on here?

1 PC used by the secretary
1 Laptop used by the boss (not always on-site)
Both have the same email account on them
PC is set to keep mail on server for 14 days
I *think* the laptop is also set to keep mail on server for 14 days (boss is on holiday at the mo)

Tends to work ok most of the time, but every so often the PC has a problem where it gets a surge of emails going back more than 14 days. She just called me in this morning and I can see that emails are going back until 26 June, which is about 23 days.

The laptop does not suffer from this problem.

It's not the first time we've looked into this problem. We thought that after last time the problem wouldn't re-occur.

The PC is on a wireless connection with a low signal, so the secretary sometimes gets the 0x800CCC0F error in Outlook, but I doubt that's anything to do with emails remaining on the server.

Ideas anyone?

O/S -: Windows XP SP3

Application -: Outlook 2003 11.8206.8202 SP3

Email Server Type -: IMAP

Background -: Recently re-installed MS Office 2003, due to Word/Exel/Outlook crashing with a 0xc00000005 exception (turned out it was a Network Printer problem which I've now resolved)

Current Problem -: Outlook is downloading TWO IDENTICAL COPY emails, and If I delete or send to Junk Folder one copy, it deletes/moves the other copy!

If I view my emails using my Web Browser based email client, I only see ONE copy of the email (as it should be)

A couple of things I've noticed about Outlook behaving differently is -:
a) The Send/Receive progress % does'nt show anymore

b) If I navigate on Outlook to Tools, Option, Mail Setup - when I select the Send/Receive Options, nothing happens (there are no further options). the same is true if I try to access the Send/Receive Options via the toolbar

c) The 1st of the duplicate emails is blank with the following header -: "This is a message header. The Full Item has not been downloaded", the 2nd duplicate email has the relevant email information

Any ideas?

Answer:Solved: Duplicate Emails Problem - Outlook 2003

Well try this...go on the webmail and create a new folder and move all the emails to the new folder ...
That should take care of this issue which happens becoz of email corruption and remember its an imap account i.e.mirror image of webmail if you delete emails in webmail or outlook you wont be able to find them anywhere

Please don't think i'm impatient but i really need some advice.

I posted this problem yesterday, i think it's gone to the second page, maybe someone will get to it eventually, i hope you don't mind me posting it again.

Just before my pc crashed, my son, who shares Outlook Express with me exported his emails on to a cd, at that time i had Windows Me and Outlook Express 5.

I had a new c drive put in and went back to Windows 98, i also updated to Outlook Express 6.

My son has gone through all the stages of trying to import his emails from the cd back into his identity in Outlook Express but they went into my identity even though he loged in with his own identity.
How do i go about transferring his emails from my identity to his own in Outlook.

I am new to this sort of thing and would really appreciate your help.

Sorry for posting this twice.

I have registered in some blog or forum sites. I was oblivious of the item of "receive news from the site". Now I've got like hundreds of emails from those sites, which really annoyed me. Is there a quick settings in Gmail, which enables me block those emails with just a few clicks? Or do I have to go to those sites, sign in and find the button to cancel subscription? Thank you for your help.

Answer:How to block some emails in Gmail

Isn't there a link for removing you from the subscription on the signature area (footer/bottom) of the body of message?
It will be usually listed as a link with name 'unsubscribe' or 'stop receiving the updates' etc.

Every once in a while I'll have an email discussion with someone blow up.  All of the emails are open, and they are in backwards order each in indenting a little off from the other one on their left margins, and they form a kind of systematic tree where they branch off of each other systematically.
I can't figure out how to put them back into order, and close them.
After that the gmail thread is totally shot, so I have to begin in another one.
It's done this for years.

Answer:Why does gmail blow up the emails?

You need to post screen shots.   I have never seen Gmail "permanently unthread" a threaded discussion though you can change views.  The relationship is in the e-mail headers themselves and all the e-mail client (or web interface) does is use that information to create a threaded view/conversation view.

I have just recently converted from using Windows Live Mail for my email to Gmail. Mainly because there was not an easy way to sync my contacts between WLM and my Android smartphone. Syncing is much better now, but the system differences is taking some getting used to. I notice when I am using Gmail and search for a past email, many times Gmail doesn't find it. I try it searching by contact name, by contact email address, and by subject. Of course, I can scroll back through my old emails and find it manually, but it is frustrating that Gmail cannot spot it quickly. It seems to have the most trouble when I am trying to find a SENT email. Sometimes, one I just sent yesterday. I click on the "Sent Mail" folder and the search box shows "in:sent". I type the info and nothing is found. I have tried it backspacing over the "in:sent", and with leaving the "in:sent" in place before my info. Neither way seems to help. Is there a setting I am missing?

Answer:Searching emails in Gmail

Have you tried clicking the little black arrow next to the blue box with white magnifying glass to show search options??
