Outlook 2007 sends emails with "draft" date/time

Question: Outlook 2007 sends emails with "draft" date/time

Hello - strange problem one of our users is having - when she picks up a draft email (she has previously prepared) then sends it, the email is recieved with the draft date, instead of the sending date. This means that the recipient cant see the new message (they will find it in listed as being recieved on the "draft" date). I have been unable to duplicate this error! Has anyone heard of this happening?
(Outlook 2007/Exchange 2007)
Any help very welcome!
Thanks

Preferred Solution: Outlook 2007 sends emails with "draft" date/time

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Windows XP and am using Office 2007. A week ago my Outlook calendar started showing the wrong date. Today is showing as 11/13/09 and it's 11/19/09. My inbox is grouping my email in "Next week" (It should list it as "today"). All todays outgoing email is dated 11/13/09 on the receiver's end (so my clients don't think they've received it because their email program is filing it under 11/13/09. All incoming email has the right date on it. My sent file has the wrong date. This is bizarre! Please somebody help me.....

Happening to a certain user, Outlook keeps forcing the user to "download" before opening the actual email and this only happens when the email has attachments. It does not download or open the attachments though. I made sure the Trust Settings are set to prompt before downloading anything.

Answer:Why does Outlook 2007 "download" before opening emails w/ attachments?

and what kind of email setup is this on?
Exchange?
POP3?

I managed to screw up my XP Media Edition OS and couldn't access Windows. I Installed XP Professional and after it was up and running found that a file called "My Backup (date and time)" was created. I have been able to restore quite a bit of the files but I can not for the klife of me locate and restore the Outlook 2000 files. Where are they and how can I get them back?

Answer:[SOLVED] Does "My Backup (date and time)" contain Outlook PST files

What's the file extension (ending) of this "My Backup" file?

If you created it, based off the date and time it gives, you'll know what you created it with and we'd also like to know that so we know what the backup contains.

Are you saying you formatted (wiped) out a drive and you're now looking for files on it that you didn't backup elsewhere?

If that's the case, very dim chance of retrieval.

I've tried to send a delayed email using the "Do Not Deliver Before" function. Hoping the email would be date/time stamped when I wanted the recipient to receive the email. For example, sent the email on a Tuesday and scheduled the email to be delivered the next day (Wednesday) at 10am. The function did delay sending the email, but the date/time stamp was when I originally hit sent on Tuesday. What is the purpose of this feature if the date/time stamp will not indicate the date/time I wanted the recipient to receive the email?

When using this function, is there a way for the exchange to track the date/time stamp of the email when it actually leaves the Outbox instead of when you click send? I understand the exchange keeps track of the date/time stamp of when an email is sent, but why couldn't the exchange keep track of when the email leaves the outbox when using this function? Is there any exchange setup that will make this function work the way it is supposed to? Thank you

Outlook 2007 "Enter Network Password prompt" and wont retrieve emails. I have already deleted and reset the account & have changed ISP email password so we know it's the right PW, sort of at a loss right now. Any help greatly appreciated TY in advance.

Answer:Outlook 2007 "Enter Network Password prompt" and wont retrieve emails

Removing and setting the account back up was the right move. Some people swore a reboot was needed after this was done.

Just to be 100% on the password, try going to a web service like mail2web.com and see if you can retrieve your email. At least then you're sure the email and password are working just to eliminate the obvious.

I also read that if your mail servers settings are "mail.yourisp.com" for example, remove the mail.

Are you accessing the mail from multiple devices? That can cause an issue.

WinXP Pro SP3 - Office 2007 - the owner of this PC uses both Outlook Express (OE) and Outlook for email. Why? Who knows. OE is working fine, but all incoming mail messages in Outlook are listed twice in the Inbox. Outgoing messages are sent just fine. I've never been a fan of Outlook (or OE for that matter) as it seems to be cumbersome and problematic (IMO rolleyes ). Anyway - I haven't had much success Googling this problem; I can't quite come up with the right set of serch terms.... so - why the heck are all incoming messages listed twice in the Outlook Inbox??? And how do I get it back to single listings?

Thanks!

Answer:Outlook 2007 - incoming emails are "doubled"

Googling 'duplicate messages in outlook' throws up quite a lot of results, though whether any will actually be of any use is ????????????

When I click on FORWARD and then add the recipients email address(s) and then click SEND, the message happily goes to the OUTBOX and sits there forever!

Trying to re-forward it does not work and the only way is to copy the contents and paste to a new message and then away it goes quite happily.

Very annoying - wonder waht is causing this?

I have been able to figure out how to everything except for this:

How to I design the "date" and "dollar amount" field values to default to blank/empty instead of defaulting to the word "None" in the case of the "date" field and "$0.00" in the case of the "dollar amount" field?

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

When I send an internet page by email (Outlook 2003), it comes through on the other's computer as a long list of "JPG's" and links to items in the article.

I do not understand why, as when I send it, it shows up in my email that I am sending as a whole page. I sent it to me and it showed up as a whole page. Yet, when I send it to someone else, the pictures do not show up, and it is all html code and lines and jpg's.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks!

(Running Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1)
I'm a professional photographer and have recently begun shooting with two cameras simultaneously at events. They use different file names to avoid duplicate names/confusion, i.e. IMG_175000 and XMG_175000. Often times I'll take a photo with one camera and then take a photo immediately after it with the other camera and I'd like both of these images to be organized in the same subfolder and shown sequentially, but by default Windows Explorer lists all the "XMG_######" photos at the end and the IMG_###### photos at the beginning. I can manually sort each individual folder by going to "Sort by - Date" or even better, selecting "Sort by - More... and putting a check mark next to "Date Taken" so that it shows up in the Sort options (which it doesn't automatically) and then sorting by Date Taken, but since I'm dealing with hundreds of subfolders with hundreds of thousands of photo and video files I'd like a way to do this for all the files in these subfolders that isn't manual.

Is there a way to make Windows Explorer automatically arrange every file (both image and movie files) inside the various subfolders inside one root folder by Date or Date Taken instead of automatically always sorting them by name?

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Making files in subfolders sort by "Date" or "Date Taken" by default?

Hello XMGING, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, you could set a folder how you like it, then use the method in the tutorial below to apply it to all folders that use the same folder template.

Hi,

I'm setting up a spreadsheet for work to help track some work. I have a drop down menu with "Yes" and "No" options set up in cell E2 and I am trying to return todays date in cell F2 if E2 equals "Yes". I have tried a few different things but I can't seem to get it to return the date. This would allow me to confirm when a job has been completed (E2= "Yes") and then return the days date automatically in the cell next to it (F2). Any help with this would be greatly sppreciated

Does anyone know if its possible to autofill the "from field" as a rule, when your in "another users /delegates" mailbox, so you dont have to add their address in the "from field"? (so it will autopopulate with their email address (and show "on behalf of")?
I hope this was clear.

thanks.

Answer:Solved: outlook 2007 "from field" 'on behalf of" issue

No ... its not possible if the user has more than one delegate (that has added them with the applicable rule). from that point on, they will have to choose which person they want to add to "sent" on behalf of field.

However, If they have just one (one only) user who has added them with that permission (to send on behalf of), it will auto-populate with that user.

So, It does not matter even if they are "in" a specific users mailbox (and expect the "on behalf of" to auto fill with that users name). If they have more than one delegate that has added them with that permission, they will still have to choose which user the message will sent "on behalf of"

i figured this out by trail and error etc

Hello, I've been noticing this over the years. When Daylight Saving Time occurs (whichever one, moving the clock forward 1 hour or moving it backward 1 hour), ALL my files' "Date Modified" detail move forward or backward 1 hour.

For example, I have a document file called asdf.docx and its Date Modified detail is: 9/26/2015 4:00 PM
When Daylight Saving Time comes around to move the clock forward 1 hour, that file's Date Modified is now 9/26/2015 5:00 PM. That's not correct, it should stay at 4:00 PM. What the hell is happening?

Hello there & Happy New Year.

I have encountered this particular inconvenience on the 2nd day of 2012 while i was transfering photos and files into my PC with Win7.

In my Win7 PC, all files/folders created or modified within Dec'2011 and earlier are now all grouped under as "A Long Time Ago". This happens when I changed the folder to be "Group by Date" or "Group by Date Modified" with a combo of "Sort by type". I tried sorting in different ways of view to see if I can get it back to what it should be. Then i realised even folder newly created on 25 Dec 2011 is also grouped as "A Long Time Ago" too. I am not sure if this is an intended feature.

The only helpful part is that i will still see the newer files in chronological order if I sort by date modified on top of group by date modified.

I have been using this setting for folder view even for Win XP. As for Win XP, i will get "Yesterday", "Last Week", "Last Month", "Last Year", "Two Years Ago" and ultimately the whole chunk of much older files under "A Long Time Ago". Such perfect chronological order.

I tried to google for a while and not much of returns to this issue I am having. Perhaps majority of people does not group their files/folders in such way. But for me, I like the way how it was displayed that I know i have edited/created/moved whichever files/folders last year, the previous month or ... Read more

Vista Ult. 32 locked up yesterday (using MS Outlook at the time). Rebooted and got the continual green bar mem check. I popped the CMOS battery as sometimes that will work if other measures fail. Still would not boot, so out came the Install disk and ran several sessions of repair. Finally got it working, but I have lost the "Adjust Date / Time" feature in Vista. I corrected the date and time via the BIOS, but cannot get the Vista feature to work.

Answer:"Adjust Date / Time" not accessible

What happens if you type timedate.cpl into the RUN box ?

All I can find on the internet refers to Win98 or similar. The only possibilities that may work for you are replace timedate.cpl from a working PC (for which you will need to be super-administrator).

Also double-check the bios actually has the right date and time - remember there is ambiguity about whether the date is DDMMYYYY or MMDDYYYY (at least in my country !)

There is here http://www.websecurity.mobi/computer-help/497-timedate-cpl.html something not too different. Even though it is about Millenium, it offers another suggestion as to where to find things that may affect your problem.

Hi,

My organisation has just rolled out an Exchange 2007 Server.
I am a desktop support engineer for my unit. We are setting up access to the server through Outlook 2003.

A small number of Outlook 2003 users get this error message when they are using a .prf file to configure their clients.

"Your Exchange Server administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that you are using. Contact your administrator for assistance."

This is XP SP2 running Outlook 2003 (error occurs on Office, Office SP2 and Office SP3) connecting to Exchange 2007.

I have tried tried applying SP2 and SP3 to Office and completely reinstalling Office but it still occurs.

I am told by the Server Administrators that this is a local problem so I am not getting any help from them. I tend to believe them that it's not server side because I set one of the profiles up on two PCs next to eachother. On one it worked fine but on the other it had this error message. I could not see a difference in the two Outlook installations.
I have read this article here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924625 but a lot of the questions it asks and tests involve having administrator access over the server which I do not have.

Does anyone know of anything in the local Office installation that I do have control over that has been known to cause this?

All the best,

mantis484

Answer:Solved: Outlook 2003/Exchange 2007 - "Your Version of Outlook has been blocked..."

Hi we managed to find the solution so I'm posting it here to help others.

We inherited a number of builds that were done by other companies. It appears these builds have in the past had previous versions of Office installed. This has resulted in registry keys lurking around from the old installs.

Once we removed these registry entries it worked.

Best way to do this that I could think of is to

1) Uninstall Office and then search the registry for any references to Outlook. You can do this using AML Free Registry Cleaner http://www.amltools.com/ (which has a search function). Ignore any hits for Outlook Express you are only insterested in Office Outlook.

2) If this is the problem that you are having then you will find registry entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\7.0 or 8.0 or 9.0 etc.

3) Delete any Outlook folders in the above tree. Onc eof the keys in the Outlook folder will be Version and this appears to be what is being read when the server asks what version you have.

4) Reinstall Office - it should now work.

All the best,

Here's one for you Outlook gurus. I have talked to a lot of people about this (including 2 Outlook trainers), and they cannot figure it out. I am about at the end of my rope...

Here's the challenge:

A new entry is put into the Outlook 2000 calendar (double click on the time of the event.)
In that window, there is a drop down menu, which is marked "show time as." In that drop down menu, "busy" is chosen.

After the entry is completed and saved, that date does NOT show in bold, on the calendar pane. Instead, there is a grey box around that date.
When clicking on the "attendee availability" tab, the newly entered calendar event, does not even show up. I know the event has been saved, as it DOES show up in the calendar pane (with a grey box around it - not bolded, as it should be.)

Now, here is the weird part-
The entries that I am having problems with, were done in the last week or so. If I enter one right now, it will appear correctly. This only seems to be happening with older dates I have already entered.
Also, if the "show time as" drop down menu is set to "out of office", saved, then set back to "busy", the date will now show correctly.
This is a community calendar which is used by more than one person.

This problem is causing events to be scheduled at the same time, as Outlook is not recognizing when events have already been scheduled for certain dates.

A couple of variables:
1. The PC was recentl... Read more

I'm using a hand-me-down PC running Windows 7 and Office 2007, both installed by the previous user. Every time I tried to run Word or Excel I would get a time consuming of series messages and screens starting with stdole32.tlb:
Followed by "Please wait while setup prepares the necessary files:

And then an interminable progress bar that feels like it takes ten minutes to complete (and this happens every time I run Excel:

I was able to find a fix for this problem in running Word 2007. But I haven't been able to fix Excel 2007.

I have a brand new, unopened copy of Office Professional 2007, so I'm thinking that perhaps the easiest way to solve this problem would be to just completely uninstall all traces of the current Office installation, and then try installing this other version.

But before I do that, I'd like to check to see if anyone reading this might know of a straight-forward fix that a non-techie like myself could safely execute.

I found a handful of threads relating to this problem in this forum, but they either use jargon I don't understand or peter out before the problem is solved, e.g.:

http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/1116536-problem-opening-excel-word-office.html

So, I'd be grateful for help with either trying to fix the current Office 2007 installation, or in uninstalling it and installing a different version.

Go to the Programs and Features screen, scroll down to find the entry for MS Office 2007, select it then click on 'Change'. A smaller window will open and you will have the chance to Repair or Uninstall.
Try to repair first, but that is contingent on the cashed installation files existing on the machine; you will know it they are not because you will be asked to install the original media. If that is the case, you may want to Uninstall, then buy your own license of Office 2013.

My manager's pc is running xp sp2 and outlook 2003 sp2 on a HP compaq dc7100.

When he randomly opens emails (by double clicking on them, not previewing/reading) and tries to print them (either menu/icon/right click), he gets the error "operation failed".

A reset doesn't fix the problem and I'm aware that html pages need to be opened properly before printing, but like I said, he opens them and gets the error.

Does anybody know of a solution/patch or an explanation?
Or is there anything else I should check for?

EDIT

The emails he gave an example of have rich text, not plain black and white. But there are plenty of rich text emails that do work.

Is this possible? I Googled some suggestions, but I wanted to come here because you people have helped me before and not steered me wrong.

I am wondering if....and hoping that....I can retrieve a couple of emails. I deleted them by mistake and, of course, my boss asked me for those in particular! Not any other ones! The ones I mistakenly deleted! MONDAYS!!!

Anyway...I am curious about where the .pst file is that I'm thinking I need. We have a server here at work that we backup our emails to. Is this where any deleted files would go or do they go to the archive.pst file (on my computer) that I've been reading about when I Googled this?

PLEASE HELP ME!! Please tell me I can get them back!

THANK YOU!

Answer:Recovering "Shift-Deleted" emails in Outlook 2003

I don't actually think there is a way to get back files once they have been shift-deleted, as that bypasses storing them in the deleted items folder (unless you still hold a copy on the mail server that you can re-download).

This site seems to think that the following will work, so it may be worth a try - but I wouldn't hold out too much hope

Alright, this issue stems from a bizarre Outlook 2003 "feature" (bug?). My setup looks something like this:

Personal Folders
|
+ - Archive
|
+ - Inbox
|
+ - Sent Items
|
...

Sometimes, instead of dragging an email to "Archive", I accidentally drag it to "Personal Folders". Outlook allows this, strangely, and the email is then stored in the "Personal Folders" folder rather than the one I wanted. But, if I click "Personal Folders" in an effort to view the hidden email, Outlook takes me to the "Outlook today" screen.

I know there is a way to un-hide these emails because I've done it before: my question is how? Googling is difficult because using the words "Personal Folders" results in a bunch of irrelevant hits since the context I'm using it in is different from the normal use of the term.

Thanks for any insights!

Hello All,

I have my GoDaddy email account setup as an IMAP using Outlook 2010. Intermittently when I receive emails, they will go straight to the 'Outlook Data File' and completely erase them from any of my other email clients. I will even be literally reading an email on my iPhone and before I can finish the email disappears to my office computer if outlook is running. Any way to fix this?

Thank you!

Elegantly simple my friend - just make sure Outlook is not running when you are using a different device to read emails with.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for taking time to read my post. This started this morning; when i hit "send/receive" button, Outlook does its usual process and at the bottom right corner it shows the progress and it shows I recieve w/o any loss, but I don't see it in my reading pane. Plus after Outlook finishes "send/receive", it'll sometimes shut down. running Win xp srvc pk 2. Also when i restart i get a light blue screen and its performing a "Checking File System C:", and when it's done then it'll go to the login screen; any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I was overhearing this discussion by the IT guys in the office, and I wanted to see if this was possible.

Let's say my company uploads/backs up everyone's email at 7pm every day. They upload all your sent, recieved, and deleted items. But is there a way that if a particular email was recieved then deleted, that there is a directory somewhere, or a function within Outlook itself that will allow me to delete even these items so that they are not uploaded at 7pm?

Answer:Outlook 2K3 - Removing deleted emails from "server upload"

Does your office use an Exchange server or just pop servers with local PST files?

If its local PST files all you have to do is delete it and remove it from the recycle bin.

Been running 2010 for about 11 months now on a hosted Exchange Server, no problems at all until this past Sunday.

Almost all of the roughly 125 emails in my inbox list the sender as me instead of the actual sender. When a new message comes in, the taskbar notification popup displays the correct sender's name but in the actual inbox my name is displayed under "From"

When I open any of the messages the correct sender's name and email address are displayed.

This is a head scratcher for sure and confusing when trying to scroll through looking for someone's message or reply. Anyone else run into this/know the solution?

Thanks.

P.S. Running a Dell Studio 15 less than a year old, fast processor, 8GB RAM, etc., etc. No other computer problems at all, just this quirky email problem.

Answer:Outlook 2010 "From" emails all list my name instead of senders

Hi,

If you enable the preview window/reading pane, and then click one of the emails in your InBox, is the name at the top of your email as seen in the (preview window/reading pane) from the person that it sent it to you, or your name?

Hi all, for over a month I've had this persistent virus (im assuming thats what it is at least) that takes over outlook whenever i open it and floods my inbox with "delivery failed" notices. I think the virus is using my email address to send out more spam or something, and its getting blocked by other people and sent back...

I've tried different virus scanners and virus protections, but nothing comes up. I also tried a trick of setting a fake account as my "default" so the virus will try and use that one instead. It seemed to work... for about a month but then the virus came back.

heres a picture of what it looks like, it floods non-stop sometimes, till my entire inbox is full!
anyone know a solution? I dont want to have to change my email!

Hi. I'm thinking about repairing Windows 7Home Premium 32bit with the DVD, because of BSOD, but I hesitate.

I first need to know if the backup folder called "Windows.old" will be a COPY (keeps Date Modified but updates Date Created) or a CUT (simply moves all folders to an other, thus doesn't change Date Created). Thanks!
So of course, only those who have ever reinstalled Windows 7 may know the answer. If you don't know but have reinstalled Windows 7 at least once, please spare 30 seconds to check, simply find a file like a picture or music that you had before the reinstall, and see in the bottom bar of explorer if its Date Created is the original or the reinstall date. You can also click Display tab in Explorer, then Sort by > Others > check "Date Created", > OK > Click display again > Sort by > Date Created. Don't mistake with Date Modified, I know the original Date Modified is kept upon copying, but it will update if you modify the file obviously. Please be honest and double check, losing 5.9 years old dates of my past would be heartbreaking, like mixing the pages of my diary!

Date Created is very important to me (and is underrated because it's not the default sorting option unlike Name/Type/Date Modified) because my computer is 5.9 years old, now has thousands of files and folders and it's easy to find them back and organize them with Date Created sorting if I didn't write tags or description in the file name.
If it doesn't ke... Read more

I'm running windows 7 on a 1 year old PC, and use windows live mail as my mail program of choice. oddly enough, WLM sometimes eats my emails, only showing a portion of them. this is NOT the issue where images are hidden: more often than not, it's the text or body of the email. and they can be from any number of sources; personal emails from regular contacts, or even the generic group messages, like from twitter and facebook.

that's how they look, whether i view them inside the program or double click on them to have their own window. however, the emails come through fine via webmail or my phone, just not in WLM, where the text is hidden.

any ideas...?

if it helps trigger any ideas, this seems to happen to specific addresses (like, all twitter emails, or all emails from my friend karl) instead of just every email.

Hello,

I've been having this issue for some time now with my work email account that is hosted through our website, and it's emails "disappearing" so to speak, in Outlook.
I often use Outlook's "task feature" that allows me to flag emails then set their priority as high, medium, or l0w, and then work from that to-do list to complete my tasks.

What has been happening is that every so often, certain emails that are flagged (seems to be regardless of priority level) end up turning into what looks like code. Rather than looking like the email did when I first received it and flagged it, it turns into nothing but plain text that lists things like the server and IP address received from, the return-path, and a whole bunch of other stuff I don't understand.

I have attached an example of one message that started off as nothing more than a few lines of text in a normal email, and turned into this mess that doesn't even include the body of the message

If anyone has any idea what this is, or what causes this, your help would be greatly appreciated. This has been happening randomly and sporadically for some time now, and it make things very difficult when I lose an important email.
Thanks!

Does anyone know of a macro that will automatically sort emails that are flagged as, say, red to be automatically on top either first thing in the AM or at points throughout the day? Or, all the time? Outlook 2007.

In other words, I'd like to be able to "quick flag" an email that I need to refer back to and have all emails flagged as such appear "always on top".

Thoughts?

Answer:Outlook Macro for sorting emails "always on top"

Hi jtcarn

I don't know of a macro, but Search folders can be configured to show only specific e-mails.
Each Search folder can be added to the Favorite Folders section.

Right click the Search folder and select: New Search Folder... select the criteria you want the Search folder to follow. After the Search folder has been created, access the new Search folder and Outlook will show all those e-mails that meet the configured criteria.

Let us know if that works for you or not.

Hi,

I'm running Outlook 2002 sp3 on win2000 - everything (os and office) sw is uptodate & patched etc.

I have this intermittent problem (25% of time, sometimes disappears without intervention) where my messages stack up in my Outbox, despite repeated manual and automatic "Send & Receive" commands.

I sometimes get error msg back - "0x8004210B - smtp server not responding" but when I contacted ISP (i've one machine connected ADSL at 500mb) they assured me it was nothing to do with server but an Outlook problem.

Sometimes closing and restarting Outlook seems to cure it, sometimes a complete reboot does the trick, or is this all accidental because sometimes it just disappears and my Outbox clears itself out spontaneously..

its a big hassle because I have no certainty about when i can guarantee email delivery to my clients....

When I run Outlook 2010 and send an email from within the program it will always send it instantly once I hit "Send.'

However, when I click the emails links on the "Contact Me" sections of a website that loads just a blank email I can type in and click send, I noticed that it doesn't send it immediately if Outlook was not already open. I have to manually load the main Outlook app and you'll see that it has saved the message in the "Outbox" and THEN it will send it once it receives the auto-send command once the app starts up.

This could be problematic if I need to send an email via a web link immediately and forget to load Outlook to actually send it. It could potentially sit in the "Outbox" all day.

Any thoughts?

This happens when using Windows mail on my desktop (Windows 10) or through Outlook from my browser. I've tried both Firefox (my default) and Edge. Some problem all around.
My date, time and region settings are all correct. I have removed and re-added accounts through Outlook online and Windows Mail.

I have a user who gets insufficient resources errors at random times during the day.

browsing to her network drives, causes this error. The drive is not displayed.
Printing causes this error. The document does not print
She basically, can't do anything.
The system has 2gb of memory, not a ton, but taskmgr shows there is lots of room there, CPU usage also isn't high.
Programs usually running are
Autocad 2008
Outlook 2007
and random programs.
pdf documents in Acrobat Pro
Internet Explorer 8

I close out Outlook 2007, and the error goes away, she is able to print and continue as normal.
I open Outlook 2007 back up, and she is running fine for a while.

I remember older versions of Office creating a memory leak, which was addressed in patches and service packs, but I didn't think a memory leak issue existed in 2007.
Anyone else seen this kind of behaviour, and if so, solutions?

This issue is resolve for now. The problem is a Bluetooth driver that causes issues with MS Office as well. See the link below for more details:

Hi -

I'm having some trouble with Outlook XP (2002) and Exchange 2007 and haven't been able to find a solution elsewhere.

Basically, I get a message when I try to log on telling me that the server is down or that there's a network problem. (The exact text is: "Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either here are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance.")

To get around this, I have to:

1) delete my mail account
2) re-create my mail account,
and
3) restart Outlook.

Going through this process will allow me to read my mail and access the calendar until I stop Outlook, at which time I need to go through this entire process again.

Another potential symptom of the problem is that if I put a name in as the exchange server in the mail setup window, this whole process doesn't work -- I actually have to put in the IP address. When I click "next" the address is replaced with the name (e.g., "EX03"), which might be related to why it doesn't work the next time I try to start Outlook).

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Answer:Solved: Outlook XP (2002) vs Exchange 2007 -- reports "not available"

Sounds like a DNS issue, for some reason it is having problems resolving the hostname to the IP. Make an entry if your HOSTS file for the server.

Working on a fresh installation of Win7 Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate.

Got Outlook installed and setup with my mail accounts (this is the first time I'm using Outlook - moved from Thunderbird) and it synced with my phone and all seemed to be right with the world.

Then I tried to send an email message. It gives me the error: "the operation failed. an object cannot be found." and the message goes to the "Outlook" folder in the Personal Folders (even though I told it to send sent mail to another folder).

This is an GMail IMAP account in Outlook 2007. I've been googling and it might have something to do with Offline Address Books, but the instructions for rebuilding them are to open Exchange Service Manager or something like that... I don't have that.

Can someone help me out on this issue? If I can't send mail, obviously that's a killer, but I'd really like to use Outlook because I have a WinMo phone and need to sync the calendar and tasks and so on.

Thanks.

Hello there,

Outlook 2007 Imap account can't get the new items synced in to its "Inbox" folder. Other imap folders are up to date. The problem is only with Inbox.

The newly arrived items on webmail's inbox are not appeared in my outlook's inbox. When I move it to any other folder on webmail, then it reflects in outlook. (I mean its only outlook's inbox that stopped syncing, while all other subscribed folders do)

The 'updating cached messages' task shows the count as per webmail's inbox count, but it wont actually update all of them. For eg, there are 1500 items in webmail's inbox & outlook's inbox has got just 1000, the task while running shows as 'updating cached messages x/1500' and once the count reaches 1000/1500, it ends.

When an item is deleted from outlook's inbox, it reflects on webmail & similarly when deleted on webmail, its deleted on outlook's inbox as well. The only thing is outlook inbox, which no longer receives new mail.

Have spent ample of time to identify the issue but no luck yet. There are 100+ systems in the network with same setup and this issue is observed in about 8-10 pcs as of now. When the account is reconfigured there is no issue. So the problem is linked to outlook profile or pst which we couldnt figure out & find a fix.

System Spec:
XP SP3 on core2duo with 4GB of Ram, Office 2007 Standard, Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Have anybody experienced this?
Appreciate your help!!

Hi -

Hoping you can help me. I need to set up an Outlook 2007 rule for marking all incoming mail as read, but it must reside on the exchange server.

The issue is that we need to ensure that all files that are incoming to this particular mailbox are marked as read to prevent them from repeatedly ftp'ing a file to an application server. This is an unmanned mailbox. I've read several forums that say the "Mark as Read" rule can only be set up client side.

Anyone know if that is correct? Or... have any suggestions?

Hi I run Windows Vista Home Premium and Outlook 2007. I've set up POP3 access for Gmail and to download mail from mail.bigpond.com (an Australian ISP). Initial setup was fine and I can send test messages to myself.

Recently I've had trouble sending (but not receiving) email via Outlook. The following error message is shown:

Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) email server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet Service Provider (ISP).

This message occurs for both my email accounts.

If I reboot the computer, then sometimes the mail will be sent successfully. I've checked the "account settings" on Outlook- and they are exactly as those given by my ISP/Gmail. But when I click on "test account settings", the test message can't be sent.

What's going on?!

Answer:Outlook 2007 "Sending reported error"- can receive mail but can't send!!

Angela,

Refer to the earlier query in this section dated 10th April under heading " OE suddenly asking for Logon Password" which shows possible ways of overcoming this . I reckon it's server problem as I had it re-occur a couple of days ago . My Mail is Btinternet which started rejecting my outward messages. I know that BT uses Yahoo so Isubstituted "mail.yahoo.com" for "mail.btinternet.com" ( OE/Tools/Accounts/Properties/Servers) and it immediately started working . So whatever the ISP says it IS their fault and somehow their systems start rejecting things for no valid reason .

I have a spreadsheet, similar to the demonstration file I have attached. In it, there are a range of columns. One set of columns (A - D), shows a list of numbers that are references to items in a store, and it also shows their location in the store, so it acts as a floor-plan. The next column (E) lists those items again to show the dollar amount that those items have produced in total sales (F).

So, what I'd like to do is to add a conditional formatting to show me the "cold" and "hot" spots on the floor-plan so I can see where sales are most concentrated. I would assume that this would be done with a colour scale (using the range of values in column F to work itself out)?

Either way, the figures in column F would change weekly, so the relevant cells in columns A - D would need to automatically change when they're matching cells in column E - F change.

I hope this makes sense, as it's difficult to explain, but any help that someone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I belong to a large group that I send out emails to occasionally. Outlook 2007 on my Vista computer will not let me send to the whole group in one email. I have to split it into about 6 different emails to get it to go. When I was using Outlook 2000 on XP I did not have to do this. What setting can I use to force Outlook 2007 to accept all the addresses I want to enter so I just have to send my newsletter one time?

In a related question...Outlook 2007 will also hang up and not send the email to my group IF there is one email some where in the group that it does not like.
TWO QUESTIONS:
1) is there a way to force the email to go even if there is one bad address in the group and just bounce back an error message on the problem email?

2) Is there a way to make it tell me which email it has a problem with so I can manually remove it? Outlook Express will at least kick back a helpful error message and tell me what email address is causing a problem so I can just remove that name to make the email go to the rest of the people.

Thank you,
Cindy

When I get an email (such as a note from this forum to reply to a topic), sometimes I click and it is immediate (opens up a window or new tab and goes right there). Sometimes, I could click the same link in the same email and it could take nearly 30 seconds to pop up. What gives>?

New Dell 530 computer, new Office Pro package installed by Dell. Everything works pretty smoothly so far, but every time I open Outlook (not Outlook Express), I get a message "A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems. Performance might be affected while the check is in progress." I can still check email, appointments, etc, but it works in the background and sometimes interferes with the keyboard or mouse. And if the program is open long enough, it reports a message "data file check complete." It's not a huge issue but is very annoying. Any ideas?

Answer:2007 Outlook "data file" message

Hello Judy. Here is an article that explains the error message and provides a resolution to prevent it from occurring again.

Hope that helps.

Hey all,

The basic problem I'm having is that Outlook 2007 is insisting on having two "default" PST files. It doesn't matter which PST files they are, but it insists on two of them--which results in two email inboxes, two calendars, etc. It's annoying and confusing. I've driven myself crazy looking for a fix, but nothing seems to help--I only ever manage to make things worse by screwing with accounts, files, etc. I've re-installed Office, I've tried deleting one of the files, I've tried re-creating my "mail" account with the same email address. If I add a new PST file, I can make it a default, but it just replaces one of the others--and then I'm still dealing with two total. For once, Google doesn't turn up anything--I can't find anyone who's had this same problem. The OS is Windows 7, 32-bit. The problem started when the PST file got moved around when I was switching out my office's old shared drive for a new one, if that's relevant.

I'd greatly, greatly appreciate any help. Thanks a ton in advance. Let me know if there's any information I should've given that I haven't. I can provide screen shots if that'd help anyone help me.

Answer:Outlook 2007 insists on two "default" PST files

Rename one of the .pst files. Now when you go back in delete whichever one you don't want. Alternatively, create a new Profile and give it a shot.

Howdy,
Been searching for this one for a bit. Found loads on Blank Reading Pane however this is slightly different.

Have a home user who some messages are not displaying in the reading pane. These are mainly from Facebook and some various ones from their work colleagues.

When choosing reply message is also blank however selecting Office Button > Editor Options > Display > Hidden Text (checked) the message content appears.

Why then is the message content not visible in the main preview pane? These are just the simple message notifications such as from facebook.

Looked at fonts / mail format (tried all variences) to no avail.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

We have a user who is trying to save an Outlook email (as a .msg), but when she tries to save, she gets the following error: "There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again." Outlook is the only program she is running.

Note: The email she is having a problem saving was sent by a user outside our organization. When I had her try to save an email that I sent her from within our organization, it worked. It could it be that the sender used a different version of Outlook when creating their message...could that cause this error?

Thanks.

When viewing the list of received messages, I see the date and subject collums; but not the "From" collum. The field chooser option opens; but, when I click on "From", everything in there is grayed out and I cannot add the From field.

Answer:Outlook 2007 Doesn't show the "From" field.

I finally figured it out. The "Field Chooser" item in the manus is misleading. It has nothing to do at all with changing the view of the fields columns.

I recently upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and lost the ability to have the next email item opened after deleting or moving an item. I have enabled this feature (Tools -> Options -> Email Options), but there is no change. Both the "open the previous item" and "open the next item" features produce the same results (i.e. "return to the inbox"). Help??

I keep getting the "Enter Network Password" dialogue box when I try to send/recieive email in Outlook 2007. I have tried repairing the install, resinstalling, deleting and re setting up the user avvount and the registry edit from the link below.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101513541033.aspx

Also, I have setup a remote desktop connection and it won't save the login password for he RDC. I was wondering if maybe these two problems were interreated.

The errore message says the following:
Authentication error has occured (code 0x507)

Then it loads the remote PC and I have to type in the password.

I'm trying to determine if there is a way to reset Outlook 2007 to a state where it has effectively never-EVER-not-even-ONCE been opened. The /firstrun switch is not sufficient. Removal of profiles from the mail applet in control doesn't actually make it like it's never been run either.

This is a domain environment and, when clicked the very first time, Outlook displays "Configuring Outlook Accounts" and then automatically jumps from there to requesting the user's full name and initials. No requests for settings, no "welcome", none of that.

I need Outlook to be in that state once again without having to completely re-install the OS and everything else from scratch just so Outlook has never actually been clicked on.

Is this possible? Any help is much appreciated....

Strange that Outlook 2003 used to be able to search for and find a dollar sign. My folders are indexed correctly so that's not the issue. But Outlook 2007 just isn't able to search for this type of character it seems. However if you have found a way to do it, let me know I would appreciate it as I often need to do this type iof search.

Anyone else ever had this problem and had any luck figuring it out?

URLs embedded in received messages in Outlook 2007 give the error "The system cannot find the file specified". If I cut and paste the URL into a browser, it works fine. The URL is apparently not being passed to the default browser (IceDragon). I tried making Opera the default browser, but that didn't help.

OS = Win7
Machine = Lenovo T510 with 4GB RAM

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I recently built a call log database in Access 2007 for my team to use when calling agents on our top errors we see from a vendor's error report. My boss is requesting a report to see how many items have been resolved

I have a query started and I am trying to complete this task in a single query (if possible) instead of several queries (as I've done for a couple other things).

I have 3 tables I'm using: Assignment, AgtInfo and CallLog
Joins as follows: Assignment.st=AgtInfo.agcy_st
AgtInfo.agt_id=CallLog.agt_id

Fields in the results: Assignment.assigned_analyst, CallLog.rpt_mnth, CallLog.resolved

Resolved is a yes/no field. I've done a query that converts the -1 to a 1, so that the sum is a positive number for the "Yes" values. I'm not sure how to enter the expression to subract the "Yes" values from the total number of values (yes/no) to get to my "No" count.

Essentially, I'd like the results to display as:

assigned_analyst, rpt_mnth, CountYes_resolved, CountNo_resolved

Somehow the connection is just not clicking in my brain with everything I've read though searches. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Answer:Solved: Access 2007 Query: Return count of "Yes" and "No" values for Analyst/Report M

It is easier to add another column to counf the Nos, use
0 or is null
as the IIf statement and use a 1 to count them

I Googled my problem and found a page on this site that helped me figure out a solution (different than the OP I will cite) and thought I'd post the details here for others. -And I wanted to thank all the posters on the original (closed thread) page http://forums.techguy.org/networking/736702-solved-rpc-server-unavailable.html --your comments were indeed helpful to me, though my problem was different than the original poster.

My problem was:
I am running Windows 7 and I use screenwriting software called Final Draft (version: 7.1.3). I had always saved my screenplays as PDF's without issue through the FD program, until one day an error came up and it would not save PDF's anymore.

Error: "The RPC server is unavailable"

Solution for me: To make a long story short, the discussion on the techguy page above led me to my solution (not a service RPC needed, but a service that needed RPC). I've heard people refer to the "Save as PDF" function as "Print to PDF" so I checked and... The Print Spooler Service was not running. On my hunch, I restarted it and was able to save PDF's in Final Draft once again.

Here's what I did. Go to:

-Start.
-Control Panel.
-Administrative Tools.
-Services.
-scroll down to find "Print Spooler"

My Print Spooler Service was marked as "disabled" so I enabled it thusly:

-right click on print spooler and go to the drop-down menu for "startup type". Select "Auto... Read more

HELP!! Does anyone know HOW to customzie the Date and Time stamp on emails in Outlook 2010? I want each and every single email to show up in my Inbox (whether read or un-read/new) as the DATE, i.e. 6/19/2012 9:24am I do NOT want the words "Today" or "Yesterday" or "Tues" - AND - I want the entire DATE to appear and the TIME to appear on every message. I find and sort emails by time and date. I used to have that as a default in Outlook 2003. How do I change the default in 2010 to be what I want?

My system crashed recently and I have had to restore everything. I reinstalled Outlook 2007 and was able to restore my PST file from a backup I had using the genie backup product. All my files and folders are now restored.

When I click on the send/receive button, I get this message "The operation failed. An object could not be found"

I deleted my email setup account (I'm downloading from my att account) and re set it up using the instructions on the att site. I also ran the 'repair' function off the Office CD and did the Office diagnostics.

Any suggestions?
