Help with Outook 2007 - Download to Inbox

Question: Help with Outook 2007 - Download to Inbox

I was a former Outlook 2002 or similar early version Outlook user and I upgraded to Outlook 2007 which assummed the earlier settings.

No email messages are now downloaded directly to the inbox in Outlook 2007!

Instead if I click on the Tab, Search Folders (below the Tab, Inbox) and then immediately return to the Inbox Tab, the downloaded messages will appear in the Inbox Tab.

This is entirely frustrating since I tend to view emia messages multiple times during the day.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This is my first post...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Help with Outook 2007 - Download to Inbox

My first thought is "have you checked to make sure you don't have an email filter active?"

Unfortunately, i'm not near a 2007 machine to check for further solutions at the moment.

I've just ordered Outlook Office 2007 which has Outlook 2007 included. However I've just thought - I have activesync 3.8 which works perfectly with my PDA (HP2210) at the moment. Will installing Outlook 2007 cause any problems?

Answer:Outook 2007 + Activesync 3.8

I do not know if you will have problems but in any event it would probably be better to bring Active Sync up to date - it is v4.5 now.

thanks for any help

Answer:import multiple contacts into outook 2007 from csv

Read this. Although for Excel it should work for any csv file. Map custom fields is fairly important.
It would have been easier to have created a pst file of your old contacts (export as pst) and then imported that.

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with an Outlook 2007 issue a user has been having. Last week, our exchange server was flooded by a lot of e-mails, causing our users messages they tried to send out to fail and given a Outlook delivery delayed message for each. The issue was solved but I have one user who still has a delivery delayed mail in this inbox and upon trying to open it, Outlook crashes and if you try to deleted it, you get the message:

"One or more items in the folder you synchronized do not match. To resolve the conflicts, open the items, and they try this operation again."

I was thinking this notification was in sync with the e-mail that was delayed, so I did a search and couldn't not find anything related to it. Any ideas on who to get rid of this troublesome message?

Hi all. Irritating & timewasting beyond belief - even for Microsoft - is a hidden shortcut in either Outlook 2007, Office 2007 or perhaps in Windows 7. Centred apparently on the "T" key, a combination of keystrokes reduces the display size of text I type. At enormous waste of time, each occurrence can be remedied, via the View tab in Outlook 2007, then the "zoom" facility. But how do I a) locate the set up instructions for this shortcut, and b) alter or reload them?

I'm a reasonably sensitive typist: this glitch is wasting sooo much of my time. Am in the dire straights of using new Windows 7, with new Office 2007 apps, on a new laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1545.

Advice on shortcut set-up in Outlook 2007, and or in Windows 7 will be much appreciated. Thanks

Answer:Outook 2007 or Windows 7 keyboard shortcut, reducing size of display text.

Is it a laptop you are using.....if so are you sure its not the zoom function on the touch pad

Question: Outlook 2007 Inbox

I have the Inbox set to display emails in date received order, with the latest at the bottom.

This works OK except when I go to calandar and input or check an appointment; when I go back to the Inbox, the cursor is highlighting the oldest message at the top of the screen and I have to scroll all through the many many messages which we keep in the Inbox (it's the way we work) to get to the latest.

If I just shutdown Outlook 2007 and open it up again the latest email is highlighted at the bottom of the screen, ie how I want it. Is it possible to set it so that it is like this when switching from calandar to Inbox?

Thanks for your help

Answer:Outlook 2007 Inbox

I don't use Outlook, however, standard keyboard commands
work in Outlook Express (as well as other Windows programs).
If it works in Outlook, you would press Ctrl+End to reach the
bottom immediately, rather than scrolling.

I am having problems where one of my users is getting a blank Inbox in Outlook 2007, but in the lower left corner it says that she has 322 items. There are no filters applied (I cleared everything just in case). She logs in through Citrix, and is using Outlook 2007 against and Exchange 2000 server. Since it is Citrix, Outlook does not run in cached mode, so that rules out that possibility. If I chance the "view" of the Inbox to something like "Arrange By-->Conversaion", there is what appears to be message lines, but all it says is "none" on each line. This problem started one the Citrix server was upgraded to Office 2007. Other users have no issue at all with this. I am at a dead end and am not sure what to do next. If anyone has seen this before or has any ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance!

I have been using Office 2007 for a while with no trouble. I am using XP Pro with outlook connector for my hotmail account.
Last night I found that my computer restarted unexpectedly and thereafter I can't see my Hotmail inbox in Outlook.
At the top of the empty window the message says: "There are no items to show in this view."; When changing the current view to something else such as Unread messages in this folder - the line at the top says: "Cannot display information. There is either a problem connecting to the server or an error occurred. Try starting Microsoft Office Outlook again."
At the same time I get an error window: "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook"

Obviously I have restarted outlook and even restarted the computer several times - to no avail.
My pst file is local and I can see all local folders normally. Also I have no problem managing my hotmail account online, using explorer.

By the way, I looked up this error message online and found that there is an abundance of problems that can cause this error message and various MS hotfixes (I tried one that proved irrelevant).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a new email account from GoDaddy (my 'work' account) and whenever I get an email in this inbox,-- within outlook -- i get the same email in my gmail inbox (personal account) in outlook. this is apparently not a function of Godaddy.
how can i prevent this duplication in the personal inbox?
thanks very much!

Answer:outlook 2007 inbox duplication

Did you set up any rules in Outlook? That's a possible cause. Also, did you set up both servers under one profile? If so, you'll have to remove the GoDaddy server from that profile. Then, create a second profile and set it up with that server.

I recently installed the Office 2007 suite including Outlook 2007.

On my PC, the inbox folder view does not autoupdate when new messages are received. In the folders on the left side of the screen, the "Inbox" label will turn Bold and the number of new messages will be displayed, but in the middle of the screen, the messages do not show up. To show the new unread messages received, I have to click on another mail folder, then click on the inbox folder again.

I'm using outlook as a POP3 client.

This is for a fresh installation of Office 2007

Close the outlook 2007 Application and open Word 2007 . You should get a Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program notification. Once you have done this , YOUR Outlook will work fine.

The strange thing is whilst the email address folder is used for sending emails they do not appear in the sent folder for that email address they appear in the 'personal folders' sent mail folder.
I cant seem to find a solution for this, I imagine there is a switch/option which points the sent items into the 'email account' sent folder but I cant find it. all incoming emails appear in the 'email inbox' folder.

Anyone know how the change the "default inbox" that is linked to the Desktop Alerts?

I have 3 different email addresses (all POP accounts), all residing under the same profile. I created separate .PSTs for each address, and therefore they each have their own inbox/outbox/sent items/deleted items folders. My primary email address is linked to the "Personal Folders" .PST, and is set as the default account for sending mail. However, the Desktop Alerts that keep appearing are from one of my secondary accounts, an email addy that I only use for online shopping and therefore receives tons of ads and spam.

Needless to say, I want to be alerted when emails come to my main account, not when Best Buy or Old Navy sends me their spam of the day. So how do I change which inbox is linked to the Desktop Alerts?

I recently have an issue with one of my outlook 2007 users which the email in 'Inbox' which is older than one week will automatically be 'deleted'. I check in all the archives and find no place of existence. Do you guys have any idea of where those old email could have gone to? Or, why those email disappear?

Thank y'all in advance!

Answer:Outlook 2007 Inbox item disappeared!

Where the messages have gone will depend on why the went away.

The first thinks I would check are the AutoArchive and the Rules settings in Outlook.

Right-click the Inbox folder and select Properties and click on the AutoArchive tab.
Is the AutoArchive setting enabled and set to delete or archive message older than a week?

Go to Tools > Rules and Alerts
Is there any rule listed that would account for the messages being deleted or moved?

Hello everyone,

lately I've been getting some strange behaviour with outlook 2007 for some
users; outlook suddenly stops showing new emails.

I've tried everything I could remember, checked event viewer, went to message tracking
in exchange 2007 console, all emails were reported as DELIVERED successfully.

The outlook client itself says its connected to exchange server, and all folders are uptodate.
Forced a couple of send/receive no errors whatsoever.

Once i close down outlook, and open it up again, *bang* all the 50+ emails suddenly appear
on the inbox folder as unread (as they should).

I've tried creating a new profile for the user, I've ran scanpst to check the .pst with no problems detected
I've tried starting outlook with /resetnavpane, I've made sure outlook.exe wasn't starting in compatibility mode.
I've only noticed this behaviour while using outlook 2007, I've yet to see it happen on 2010.
All the 3 users that have this problem are using either windows xp professional (32bits) or windows 7 enterprise (32bits).

Is there anything I'm missing, any aditional troubleshooting I can do ?

PS: I tried searching for it quite a few times in google and I didn't get alot of hits with a similar problem,
and to be honest I'm really not sure what I should be looking for, since troubleshooting a problem that has
no errors whatsoever (at least that I could detect) can be quite difficult.

I have a user that accidentally drug a contact into his Inbox. The contact now does not appear in his Contacts folder, but it also does not appear in his Inbox. I'm certain the contact is indeed in his Inbox, but I cannot get Outlook to show me non-message items in the Inbox. Is this possible in Outlook 2007? Can I dive into the mailboxes via exchange (2003) and get it out?

Answer:Outlook 2007 Inbox 'view all items'?

When I drag a contact to the inbox it doesn't move there, instead it starts a new message with that contact in the (To) field, smae thing happens when I drag a contact to any folder (Calendar = Meeting request, Tasks = Task request... etc)

The only place where the conact went is the deleted items so maybe this is where it was dragged.

I am using outlook 07 on exchange server 07.

Hope you guys can help with this issue. All of a sudden, incoming messages to the Inbox in Outlook disappear as soon as they are opened and read for the first time. Before you react, let me tell you:

the View is set on Messages, NOT Unread messages only
the Autoarchive is not the problem--no settings have been changed, and messages are not set to expire
Do you have any suggestions for more troubleshooting, or is my only option to delete the account and start over again? Would my messages re-load off the server? Or is this a situation where I need to contact the server--could the problem be on their end? Many thanks.

Answer:Messages Disappear from Inbox in Outlook 2007

Hi tgrover54

If you change the View to Unread then toggle it back to Messages, do the read messages appear?

Have you checked for any Rules that may be moving messages?

Send yourself a Test message. Give the subject line a unique name. If the message disappears after being opened, run a Search for it and see if it turns up in a location different than the Inbox.
Is this a home setup or a work computer using Exchange?
If the former, then the problem is on your end. Depending on how you have your options setup, you may or may not be leaving a copy of messages on the server.
If the latter, I would believe your messages are stored on your company's server, but it still sounds like it would be on your end.
Also, the Messages option can be changed, normally the Filter is off.
Click the drop down arrow on the View field and scroll down to Define Views... verify the options have the Filter off.
Highlight the View Name: Messages and click the Reset button.

To begin, I am not knowledgeable about Outlook 2007, 6 months ago I was on xp with Outlook Express 6 and have used outlook for years and years.

This is what I have right now: when you click on the inbox, it opens at the right top with preview at bottom. The inbox has these 'headings' columns, fields : From Subject Received Size. I have those fields set so that it sorts by From Ascending.

Whenever I open the inbox the From column/field has this light aqua background. I absolutely hate this and cannot find anyway to remove that highlighting. It seems to be part of the program since if you change your field, say chose Subject for the sorting process then that column has that background color. So my first question, is it possible to get rid of that highlighting, if not to change it to white so it wouldn't show?

If it isn't possible to do that, this is what I wondered: I figured out how to create a column/field and move it so it is the first one, but if I click on it it so that this column becomes the 'main' sorting column which makes it look like there is just an aqua left side border it changes the email column putting them in a different order. So, is there some way to get that newly created user/defined column to use the from column descending order, for how it sorts?

I know this sounds crazy, but that background color being there drives me nuts, one of those 'little' things, everyone has one, like the cap left off the toothpaste Thanks for any he... Read more

All of a sudden yesterday, I wasn't receiving any emails in my inbox. I'm able to send emails and I am receiving emails in my junk folder. I get an error balloon in the bottom left corner by the Outlook icon everytime it's trying to Send/Receve which says "Microsoft Outlook cannot start processing services"

I've tried several things and nothing has worked. Below I'm listing things that I've tried and things that I do know.

Do know:
- Using Windows Vista Home Premium
- All email accounts are working. I'm able get everything on my laptop using Outlook 07 with the same account settings.
- The Send/Recieve button doesn't seem to work when I click on it.
- When I created a new .pst folder and set it as the default, all past emails were receiving but it only dumped a few in the junk folder all other ones didn't show up.
- I have deleted all rules, so it's rule free
- I can send emails
- I have several email accounts using Outlook and none of them are working, so it's just not a certain account.

Things I tried:
- Creating a new personal .pst file
- Ran .pst scan and repaired it on the old original file (which i'm not using now, since I created a new file)
- unistalled office 07 twice and reinstalled it
- cleaned out an free space in all email accounts and archives.

I've got a problem with Outlook 2007, my hotmail account can no longer be accessed, and I get an error message directing me to quit Outlook and run the Inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe).

I search for that file on my computer, and find this file: scanpst.exe 0002, which I now think may be malware. Clicking on it does nothing, except prompt to search web for the program to open the file.

Can't find the original scanpst.exe file on my install disk.

AV/spyware programs do not seem to identify scanpst.exe 0002 as malware.

1 - Anybody know the fix for this problem?

2 - I am not backed up for sent messages, though at least my incoming hotmail messages are archived on the web. If I did an uninstall/reinstall of Outlook 2007, will that even fix the problem (recognizing that I would lose my existing folders, etc.)?

We have numerous users that are having problems with Outlook crashing when
switching between other user's calendars and their Inbox. Sometimes it takes
2-3 times switching between the two, other times it takes 10-15 times, but I
am able to duplicate. At first I thought that it might be Windows Desktop
Search or Copernic which are loaded on all machines. I also thought it may
be Office Communicator which is also installed on all of these machines.
After disabling Outlook indexing for Copernic and WDS, it still doesn't seem
to resolve the issue. All machines are running the following applications:

Trend Micro - Office Scan (Virus Protection)
Windows Desktop Search 3.01
Copernic Search
Office Communicator

Adobe Acrobat 8

When I look in the event viewer at the error message, I am seeing the

I have several folders in my inbox, and one of them is now missing. When I run a search of all outlook locations, the files show up and show the folder, but I can't access the folder anywhere.

Has anyone else had this problem, and do you have a cure?

Answer:Solved: Can't find a folder in Outlook 2007 inbox

Could be a corrupt user profile. Try going to the exact location of the folder you "can't find" and making a copy of it, then going to where the folders you can find are and pasting a copy in there.
If that doesn't work you may need to make a new profile.

I am having an issue with MS Office, where it is only showing emails from several years ago.

When opening Outlook, it gives a text box that says:

Outlook is currently indexing your items

and it lists over 12,000 items being indexed.

It only just started giving us this message. I have been reading various help forums and have been unable to find anything that explains the issue I am having specifically.

I have the instructions on how to rebuild the search catalogue, but that seems to be more related to the searches than to opening the inbox. As none of the emails from 2016 are showing, and only messages dating from last two years and nothing from this year I dont believe this covers my specific issue which is that the inbox never seems to finish loading.

Are the instructions for Rebuilding the Search Catalogue the correct instructions for resolving this issue? If anyone has a link on the how-to for resolving this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a problem with Outlook 2007 that's been bothering me for some time now. After I installed Business Contact Manager the Inbox folder is not showing new messages anymore. I mean, when new mail arrives the Inbox folder won't display the new messages, and I'm forced to click on any other folder and then back to Inbox in order to refresh it. Also the systray new mail indicator is not displaying anything at all.

I have confirmed that this problem is caused by the Business Contact Manager Add-in, because when I disable it, things go back to normal. I've been googling and searching for solutions, and I tried all the possible ones I found, with no success. What I tried so far is:

- Downloaded and applied Business Contact Manager SP1
- Checked for firewall problems: windows firewall is off and I uninstalled every other firewall
- I enabled the "Customer Experience Improvement Program"
- I performed a "Repair" on Office 2007

None of the above worked.

Please, can anyone give me more ideas to find a solution for this annoying problem?

Your help will be appreciated.

We have a mailbox on an exchange server. When there are emails in the inbox it shows the amount of emails with a number at the side of the inbox and when there are no emails there is no number but recently it is showing 1 more email than there really is.

If there were 10 emails it will show 11 and when there are none it shows as 1 (see picture attached) It isn't so much a problem as it is an annoyance. Even more annoying is that i cannot figure it out. Can anyone help.

Okay, I finally gave in and upgraded my Yahoo! mail to Yahoo! Plus because I need to have all my e-mail accounts managed by my Outlook 2007. Company e-mail uses Microsoft Exchange. I added the POP3 account and all went well for the initial deliveries. The Exchange account is the default sending e-mail and all new Exchange e-mails get sent to the Exchange Inbox *.OST file.

I need the POP3 e-mails to default to the Inbox in the *.PST folder. I keep re-setting the default delivery folder for the POP3 to the PST inbox in accordance with the Outlook 2007 instructions. Check it after I close the Accounts window and it shows that it should direct to the PST folder. The next time Outlook does a "Send/Receive," all the e-mails, both Exchange and POP3, get delivered to the Exchange folder.

I revisit the Account Settings and see that the POP3 account has been re-set to deliver to the Inbox in the *.OST folder.

This is annoying, especially because when the POP3 e-mails arrive in the Exchange Folder, they get syncronized to the Exchange Host and then they get "double-delivered" to my Blackberry. UGH. Not to mention that I don't want my POP3 personal e-mails mingling with my company server.

Thanks in advance,

Answer:Outlook 2007 Keeps Resetting POP3 Default Inbox

Okay fellow hacks, my solution was so simple it SHOULD have slapped me in the face. Whenever you make a default file location change in Outlook, you need to exit and restart Outlook in order for it to take effect. If you don't do that right away, the change to the default file location won't survive.

I'm running Vista 32 home edition, which has given me problems form the offset. Today after a hard reboot chkdsk had to recover segments from a pst file. When I started outlook told me corrupted inbox. I run 5 accounts from outlook. One account was OK and the receive mail started putting everything in there. I exited outlook, ran office diagnostics and then scanpst on the inbox pst files that were not working. Seems OK now other than all emails from the server were reloaded, but that one account that was oK, now has two inboxes inside the inbox. No folder view shows these additional inboxes. I tried moving all the messages into a new personal folder, then these subfolders didn't show. But, when I moved the messages back to the original folder, there they were again. Any idea now to clean this up?

Could anyone please assist me with a bit of code I can drop into a sub in MS Outlook 2007 to do two things?

I want to firstly group my inbox items by day and then secondly count the items (not concerned about counting unread within the group as I use automatic formatting to highlight unread items anyway), so I can see how many items per day I still need to look at.

I am currently using the built in function of Arrange by Date, which groups them into "Today", "Yesterday", "Last Week", etc. What I really want is to be able to group them by each day, however far back they go.

I found a bit of code but it does weird things so I don't think it's all correct. The code updates the UserProperties fields from what I can gather and applies it to existing items in your inbox. You can then add in this extra field - called DayRecieved - and group by it, which at first appeared to do the job.

What I saw however, is that the DayReceived sets all the items to a date of the day received, but converts all of the times to 00:00, which is not helpful. In addition new emails come through with no DayReceived on them at all, so Outlook can't understand this new field and gives everything no date at all. I can still use the standard "Received" field so I know when the email came in, but I really want to be able to do this grouping by day and counting the items.

Below is the code I found and have applied:

I run Outlook 2007 with 2 accounts an IMAP a/c and a hotmail account that I also link in (I assume that this is POP 3 - sorry not so good at this). Anyway, neither account will show as the default inbox but not too much of a problem I just go down the side navigation pane on the left and click on the IMAP account or POP 3 as I need it. My PROBLEM is that i cannot remove the IMAP account inbox items to the folders that I have set up. The email shows in the folder but it also still shows in my inbox with a line through it and same if I want to delete it, it stays in inbox with line through it. HELP how do I change this?

Answer:Cant remove deleted emails from inbox - Outlook 2007 (IMAP)

You need to purge the deleted messages, then they will be removed from the Server.

Like many others here, I am also experiencing trouble with MS Outlook when transferring messages from my UOL webmail into MS Outlook Inbox. The message alert appears but the message does not go into the Inbox, it simply disappears.
I have checked all basic configurations and have also checked if the problem occurs with certain domains. No it doesn't. It occurs sometimes with hotmail, gmail, uol, yahoo, big company domains, without following a rule. I have also executed msconfig and outlook /safe.

Mine is an original Windows XP Professional system and original Office Package. Some software I have installed that might be conflicting: ABBY Fine Reader, Adobe Flash Payer 10 Activex, Adobe Reader, Google Earth Plug-In, Google tool bar, McAfee Security Scan Plus, McAfee Segurity Center, Solid Print, Metatexis, PracticCount, White Smoke.
There are also some MS Office 2003 web components and I wanted to know if these can be removed without affecting performance of my MS Office package.

Hope someone can help me out. Thank you!

Hi there!

When I start Outlook 2007, suddenly my Calendar is displaying instead of my IMAP Inbox despite the fact that I've chose my IMAP Inbox as my preferred folder to display at startup.

It's worked in the past, and without any reason, it's decided to ignore my settings.

Any clues, anyone?

Answer:Solved: Outlook 2007 Calendar Displaying instead of IMAP Inbox

I'm new on this forum, and I am facing a quite annoying issue.

As soon as I set my account up, I started to get my messages. But of the 45 messages I have on my's Inbox, I could download only 8 ! :o At the end, I have a timeout connexion, whetever the max timeout is at 60 or at 180 seconds !

Of course, I checked the account settings, and the Yahoo extension's settings. They are correct. So I can't understand where does the problem, it's such a strange problem !

Any idea ?

Please can anyone help with this Windows Live Mail problem?
Suddenly my incoming emails have stopped appearing.
When I click send and receive they appear to be coming in but nothing is in the inbox.
I have checked into spam and other folders and they are not there.
I know I am getting emails because they are coming in on another computer.
It appears I can send because a sent message does come in on the other computer.
Thanks in anticipation.

Answer:Emails appear to download but inbox empty

Silly me - had the incoming dates button wrongly adjusted and wasn't seeing the new emails coming in.

What would cause this?

A few months ago, our small firm switched from our AT&T @sbcglobal accounts (which used Yahoo Mail) to With Yahoo Mail, we were able to sync the Inbox with Outlook (desktop platform) and download emails to archive with project folders.

We would now like to sync just the inbox of with Outlook (or any other program that will get the job done). The problem is that whenever I try to sync an account, it attempts to download all messages in the entire account, not just the Inbox. We have so many messages that this sync doesn't work, and we don't want all the messages downloaded anyway, just the ones we've moved to the Inbox to archive.

If anyone is able to help with this I'd greatly appreciate it. There are too many irrelevant topics flooding the results when I do a Google search; I can't find a solution.

Answer:Solved: How to download emails from Inbox Only?

Set the account up as POP account and it will only download what's in the inbox:
See the section called Apps that support POP and SMTP.
Be sure to check the box to leave the email on the server and uncheck the box that says to delete email after a certain number of days if you want the email to stay on the Outlook server.

Hello there,

Outlook 2007 Imap account can't get the new items synced in to its "Inbox" folder. Other imap folders are up to date. The problem is only with Inbox.

The newly arrived items on webmail's inbox are not appeared in my outlook's inbox. When I move it to any other folder on webmail, then it reflects in outlook. (I mean its only outlook's inbox that stopped syncing, while all other subscribed folders do)

The 'updating cached messages' task shows the count as per webmail's inbox count, but it wont actually update all of them. For eg, there are 1500 items in webmail's inbox & outlook's inbox has got just 1000, the task while running shows as 'updating cached messages x/1500' and once the count reaches 1000/1500, it ends.

When an item is deleted from outlook's inbox, it reflects on webmail & similarly when deleted on webmail, its deleted on outlook's inbox as well. The only thing is outlook inbox, which no longer receives new mail.

Have spent ample of time to identify the issue but no luck yet. There are 100+ systems in the network with same setup and this issue is observed in about 8-10 pcs as of now. When the account is reconfigured there is no issue. So the problem is linked to outlook profile or pst which we couldnt figure out & find a fix.

System Spec:
XP SP3 on core2duo with 4GB of Ram, Office 2007 Standard, Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Have anybody experienced this?
Appreciate your help!!

User came in with a receiving email issue and to make a long story short I found that his inbox and all subfolders including sent, junk ect. are subfolders of the trash folder.(deleted Items) I tried to back up, clean(glary utils) and reinstall but the backup reordered the folders the way they were. I will uninstall again and hand build the folders and subs if need be but I was hoping someone here might know a fix before I spend 2 or more hours creating and moving from imported folders (home based company with 33000+ emails)

Any ideas appreciated.

Also noteworthy is that Norton failed after the hearbleed patch and had to be completely removed and reinstalled. the reinstallation of Norton was AFTER trying to repair Outlook.

I have got all my emails from my mail-server's Inbox in to the Thunderbird's Inbox and my Mail-server's Inbox is empty now. Probably, I might have CHECKED "use Global Inbox" (store mail in local folders) during selecting the type of server (usually POP for commercial accounts), and type in the name of the incoming server.

I would like to ask you two questions:
1. How should I modify and UNCHECK "Use Global Inbox" in the Thunderbird so that all my mail-server's emails do not imported to Thunderbird?
2. How could I get back my all emails from Thunderbird Inbox to my Mail-server Inbox?

Please kindly help...

Answer:How to prevent importing emails from my mail-server Inbox to Thunderbird Inbox

Dont' think you can get them back on your ISP's mail server. All pop3 based email clients that I have seen have an option to "Leave mail on server" Outlook Express and Eudora both have this feature. I can't believe Mozilla would have forgotten to add that feature.

Hi, can anyone make sense of this, I litterally just clicked on the inbox and all the messages dissapeared, has anyone had this happen, or knows why it might have happened?

I don't know if it's a virus or just something else, I downloaded a pool game the other day from, so could be, but, I did AVG scan and superantispyware scan and nothing was found, other than that, could it be something like a virus from a webpage?

The other thing was I moved from one shoddy older PC to a new one, I have the same email setup on both, they are never online at the sametime, but when I clicked on the email of the old one it suddenly downloaded about 80 + of my emails, which was odd, then later when I had the new one online I clicked on the inbox and they just dissapeared, I'm really confused by this, can anyone help?

Hey all.

Win 7 Pro 32 Bit

Ok, so Outlook 2010

My company's inbox size limitations are quite small, so I have created an arhive

What I want to know is if there is a way to rig up outlook so that:

1. All items received come into the main inbox, but also he inbox in the archive.

2. All items sent go into the main sent box, as well as the sent box in the archive

The sent option isn't as big a deal as the inbox, just figured I'd ask, knowing full well the process is probably the same for each anyway.

Thanks in advance

Answer:Outlook 2010 - Receive in main inbox and archive inbox

Not by default. Set up a rule to accomplish what you want to do. Kind of defeats the purpose of an archive folder if you are going to throw every incoming email n there.

I have a HTC HYN II running Windows Mobile with Outlook Inbox on for my Work emails etc coming in being directly pushed by the work server - I have my work laptop set up so they will sync together okay.

I then have my own laptop running Windows Vista with Outlook 2003 for my own personal emails coming in.

I want to be able to sync the 2 together onto my phone and own laptop so I can still get my personal stuff coming to my phone - and then sync my work stuff to my own laptop as a backup.

The two wont sync currently. Is there some way to get the two Inboxes set up so when I connect my phone to my own laptop I can then see both sets on emails on my laptop?

What about contacts and calender also ? Will these sync into the same or separate?

This sounds confusing perhaps............not sure if it can be done - welcome suggestions and thoughts.

Question: outook calendar

Bought a new laptop, took my Office 2000 Professional to be installed, instead he put on another Outlook. I installed Outook 2000, removed his program and now I get an error re:pst file. Any idea why I can't send/receive mail?

Question 2: My three year old laptop worked fine until the power cord somehow pulled the plug-in from the motherboard. Repair shop kept it for three weeks, said they soldered it several times and it wouldn't hold, so they sold me a new one. Did I get ripped off or is it next to impossible to fix?

Thanks so much for any advice given,

Answer:outook calendar

Hello and Welcome to TSF

I cannot answer your first question, there is not enough information to go off of. You need to post a complete error message and when you recieve this error.

As for question 2, yes you can solder those connections back on to the motherboard but sometimes they dont hold as they stated. You may just have had a unexperienced person do the soldering, hard to tell.

Mine have the Outlook association, I'm using the Office 2016 package rather than the Office 365 but should be same.

I would advise you use the installer (uninstaller - Change), to do a repair rather than manually setting the association as the Office associations are not standard

Here we go again - another problem with Outlook, but this time I think it is Yahoo UK (please note UK):

I have had 1 email acct with gmail and 2 email accts with Yahoo UK. They have worked fine until a few days ago. When I try send/receive one Yahoo account came up with error 0x800CCC92. I finally removed it and when I tried putting it in as new, the test message would not work. After repeated attempts, I now can send for some reason, but for receiving I get:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your email server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR (AUTH) Incorrect username or password.

I can access my email on the web for that account with no problem. All of the settings are exactly the same as the Yahoo account that works and I still cannot get the incoming to work on this one.

Any ideas?

I created a database in Access 2007. I am a relative newbe at this. One of the functions that I am using is a macro that Microsoft supplied as part of a Contacts table/form template to add Contacts from Outlook to the Contacts table in the the database. It was working just fine until I split the database, putting the tables on a server and the front end on my local PC. After splitting, it will no longer work. I have spent hours searching the Web and found 100's for people asking the same question, but no solution. Front and back end files are all in Trusted locations. Went back to a copy of the pre-split database (which still worked) and copy the object to the new split database. Would not work in the new database. . Saw some talk about using a temp Contacts table, but it did not give enough detail for me to follow.

Anyone have any ideas

I am operating on Windows 7 OS and am having difficulty with Outlook for Office 2010. It always asks for a password each time I sign on and when I open an email. For some reason it doesn't store my password.

Answer:Outook 2010 always requires password

That problem is by no means unique to Outlook 2010, it happens also on Outlook 2007 and on the version before that, and neither is it unique to Windows 7.

Try putting your POP3 server name and password into the "Credential Manager" in Control Panel. For good measure I entered my email credentials twice -- in "Windows Credentials" and in "Generic Credentials". I hardly see that pesky password prompt since doing that.

Answer:Outook Express - log file problem

Try some maintenance first and see if this helps to clear it up.
Close all programs except Outlook Express, including any antivirus programs you may have running.

First in OE, Tools>Options>Maintenance, uncheck the option for: Compact messages in the background and leave it unchecked from now on.

File>Folder>Compact all Folders. Leave the computer alone until it has completed compacting.

Let us know if this resolves the problem or not.

Microsoft have virtually forced Android Outlook users onto their new Outlook. I use Outlook on my Nexus 7. Since installing the new Outlook I find that the Contacts doesn't fully synchronize. It worked fine under the old Outlook. It seems to need loads of time to populate the Contacts file, and some of the details still have not filled in fully yet. Can anyone shed light on this issue

I would like to know how to import or is it export my entire outlook email content to my desktop in a version that will last no matter what happens to the email server and access to it.
I have a mac as well as a pc. The pc has outlook on it. I do not believe I have outlook on my mac. Could someone explain step by step how I can save these emails? I want them to be saved as they are with no changes possible.

Here is my scenario

End-user has a blackberry in which I updated the DST 2007 patch on it. On the PC side, I ran WindowsXP-KB931836-x86-ENU which updated the DST on the PC. I also ran Microsoft tzmove patch for Outlook. Both patch ran successfully. When EU enters an appointment in his blackberry at 3pm it shows up in his Outlook at 4pm. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

I know there have been some posts going back over a year, but none of them fully solve this issue. For years, the best way to sync Outlook 2010(without corporate exchange server) to the windows phone has been to use the Google Calendar connector to get to their cloud and then onto the Windows phone. This had the advantage of doing two-way synchronization and working with the default calendar in Outlook (the existing .PST file).
Google fully discontinued this service on August 1. Microsoft does not have as simple a solution. The two options I've seen for cloud syncing are to use the Microsoft Hotmail Connector and to use Google App Sync. The Hotmail Connector does not work with the default Outlook profile which means than when an invitation is received from any email account other than hotmail/ it saves to the default calendar, and you then have to copy it to the hotmail calendar in order to sync. The Google App Sync requires a whole different profile with a migration which is an equally big headache or possibly greater. So, neither of these options work without making a lot of manual intervention.
I've been using a local sync program called CompanionLink to sync contacts, notes and tasks. It can sync the calendar but has a couple of disadvantages. 1) you need to manually sync calendar which is not good if constantly on the go and always want to have your appointments. 2) CompanionLink does not feed appointments into the native calendar so it won't appear on the loc... Answer:How to sync Outook 2010 (non-corporate) with Windows phone?

Frankly the best solution is to sign up for MS Office 365. The cheapest plan (Exchange Online) is $4 per month per user, so for $48/year, you'll get seamless sync of contacts, calendar, tasks, and if you choose, email and more, across Outlook and Windows Phone.
Not free, but works much better than Google's App Sync, the Hotmail Connector, and any of the local sync solutions, and it'll work great with any other devices you add in to sync with (since everything supports EAS).
