MS Office Outlook sending emails but no emails to send?

Question: MS Office Outlook sending emails but no emails to send?

MS Office Outlook sending emails but no emails to send? I have added a few new accounts to my outlook and have had nothing but problems since. It is important that I keep these emails in my outlook, because I work from home and need to access these accounts. I have recently noticed, whenever I hit send receive, the number rises everyday, which now has me concerned. Each account has a different amount "sending", but nothing is in the outbox. IE: account A: sending 1 of 135, Account B: sending 1 of 1020 and so on. I also read online somewhere that if I was a torrent user, that "is" my problem, but I have stopped using it for weeks and there is no traffic going in or out, and I've turned the program off completely.

I've used Outlook for years, with many accounts and have never had problems. I've noticed more problems since this 'sending' message has started. I also noticed, I was the ONLY one at work not getting any SPAM for at least 2 yrs, UNTIL, I took a few days off, went back to work and BAM, hit with SPAM. Its a bloody nuisance because my accounts are linked with "rules and alerts", so if one is infected, all others follow behind! Has one or all of my accounts been compromised? If so, can it be fixed?

I have a client who uses Office Outlook 2007 (which I recently installed over her old Outlook 97) for her email. It's been working perfectly for almost two months. However about two weeks ago, she realized the program will not send emails.

I've tried this method (and other variations of it following the same principle), but it has not helped. Furthermore, I've tried turning off Avira Antivir Guard to stop it from scanning incoming or outgoing messages. That didn't help either.

I would prefer not contacting the email provider unless absolutely necessary as I doubt this is an issue on their part. Could anyone help me get this working?

My computer has been sending out emails to the top 20 names on my address list. I have AOL and use AOL as my email. This has been going on since February (at least). There is no subject line and the link inside the email usually is something like "http://sites.google.com/site/lpyoksaon/ssbkmpxd" But it is a different address every time. Just the sites.google.com/ is the same every time. Two people that received emails in different months have told me that the link is a drug company trying to sell Cialis, Viagra, etc. One person said it is located in Canada. First I emailed everyone in that list and told them that I would never send them a link without some sort of explanation, Then yesterday, I finally made up 22 fake email addresses that start with aaa and that seems to have helped because today, all of the spam emails were sent to those addresses. (I also made up 22 fake ones for zzz because it used the end of my list once.) Of course, my inbox was innundated with MAILER-DAEMON non delivered emails today, but I was glad that it worked. A friend told me that I should get on this web site and someone will ask me to send them my Registry Log and tell me how to fix this. If so, that would be great. By the way, the emails that are sent show up in my Send Folder on AOL.

I am running Windows 7 and I just bought the computer in December. My old computer didn't have this problem. This is a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980. I have AOL, IE and Firefox insta... Read more

The computer OS is XP sp3. we use outlook to connect to the server to recieve emails, duh, but the last couple days outlook wont send the emails out of the outbox. After sending for so long the system will give me a sending error, 0x8004210B, stating that operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending SMTP server. i recieve emails with NO problem and the only way for me to get an email out is to close outlook then reopen and they will finally send. can anybody shed some light on this?

Hi

What is Office version and Service Pack?

Options are in the MSKB

Also if you have a Firewall and Antivirus Software then disable them to test if they are blocking outgoing emails, if that works ok, then if your Antivirus has Office addon protection disable that. Plus tell us what Security software you have installed?

If on a corporate network and its using Exchange then chat with your IT team on this as it could be a setting they have to change.

Hi and thanks in advance - I have Microsoft Outlook 2007, Vista, Windows 7. And a new Dell. Outlook is not sending ALL of my emails. This just started. It sends some, not all. I reinstalled Outlook, deleted then added again my email server info (Comcast). If I test my settings, the test email goes through. But if I email someone directly, chances are it doesn't go through - but it might. It is inconsistent which is the most frustrating part of this. I email myself on Comcast and Hotmail - it's hit or miss. Anyone?

Answer:Outlook not sending all of my emails

Also, also...when reinstalled Outlook, or deleted then reentered my email server info, all of my emails went through fine...for about 20 seconds. Then, same thing.

Answer:sending emails from outlook

Has this ever worked or have you just connected to broadband? Have you set up your email account? You will have to set up your account from Tools> E-Mail accounts and put your ISP information. E-mail address; Incoming mail server(POP3); Outgoing mail server(STMP) and password.

I am on Blueyonder broadband with two accounts - one for me and one for my wife. We have a desktop computer hard wired to a wireless router and a laptop which shares the same internet connection via wireless.Outlook 2003 has today refused to send any Email messages to my wife on my second account but receives all my mail OK. I can send Email to other contacts in my address book.Messages are transferred from the Outbox to the Sent Box when I "Send and Receive" which gives the appearance they have been sent - but messages to myself do not appear on the server when checked with webmail.I have opened the mail accounts and checked all the settings - but everything is in order. I have also used the account test feature and this reports that the send and receive functions are working properly. Finally - I deleted my accounts and added them back manually - but still no luck.Outlook Express - using the same account settings - is working OK. I can send a message to my wife using Outlook Express - and it will be downloaded by both Outlook and Outlook Express OK. However, I cannot send her a message using Outlook. This problem has arisen on both computers at the same time - though no settings have been changed on either. This leads me to speculate that there is something wrong with my wireless router which has a built-in firewall or my ISP is not accepting Outlook mail - but accepting Outlook Express. I am no techie - and the problem has me beaten. If the router or ISP is blocking outgoin... Read more

I am trying to help a client with a outlook email issue. He has two computers in the house and two email accounts. A desktop and a laptop that both connect to the same network just one LAN and one wireless connection. he has a verizon email account and an outboundlcc.com email account. The verizon email address can send and receive on both computers. His nboundlcc.com email cannot send from the desktop or laptop and gets a smtp error when trying to send out. This does not happen on the laptop when he uses a USB verizon wireless adapter. He thinks the problem started when he switched his router to a netgear Dual Band router. Could the router have something in the settings preventing his email from sending. Why would it not happen with his verizon email and does happen with his nboundlcc email. He also has Norton on the computers, which might be blocking the emails from going out. I am just speculating and am unsure what this error could be caused from. I checked both computer outlook settings for the nboundllc.com email and they are identical. Any ideas?

HelloI've used outlook express and yahoo mail account for years on a number of different computers. I buy a new computer and transfer across the settings (they are the same) but I can receive but not send emails. The mail server times me out, and this is whether I have my virus scanner on or not. I thought it may have been coincidence but i use another computer with the same settings and it works!!Any suggestions, could it be something specific to the computer? The only other change I can think about is that it is a wireless network rather than wired, and it isn't operating MS Office but everything else is fine....Any help is appreciated

Your most likely culprit is your firewall.  Ensure that it is configured to accept communication on ports 25 (outgoing) and 143 (incoming) for IMAP or 110 (incoming) for POP3.

Outlook appeared at first to be working perfectly until I tried to send an email. It will not leave the outbox and I get the following message.

All tests work fine and it sends an email test with no problem. Just not a real email!
Please can someone out there help me, it is very frustrating an I am now sorry that I ever upgraded to 10.
I have checked the default which is correct and I even got a new email address to see if that would work but nothing.

Quite a few have had this problem.

Right click on the Windows start button then select "Command Prompt (admin)" a window will then open up, in that windows type:-

sfc /scannow

and hit enter.

Wait for it to finish and try sending email again.

Hi

I have installed office XP on my Vista machine. Everything went fine and I followed all the steps in the setup and got the pop and smtp correct, but it won't send a test message and says "Unable to send the message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account"

I have done most of what the advise colums have told other people with the same problems, but it doesn't say if they are running the software on XP machines or not!

Well I am sure the email address is ok as both myself and the husband have looked at it and retyped it in a few times to make sure and I have even rebooted a couple of times! Then I started from scratch and have made sure the outgoing server is authenticated! (apparantly that is one of the main problems - so I double checked that one!!)

I went to my server and checked the settings to allow pop mail.
What more could I possibly do, do you think?

Also I need the answer to be really idiot-proof, as that is wot I am when it comes to PCs

Answer:I Cant send emails - I can only receive them - office XP on Vista machine

We host our email through GoDaddy which allows me to see how many emails each of our accounts send. I noticed one account having sent the maximum which seemed odd for that person. I feel like I have tracked it down to something sending emails in the background when Outlook is running. Let me say that again, the only time I see this unwanted behavior is when Outlook is running on this person's computer.

Another clue I have is that when I launch Outlook, I get an error that an incorrect domain is being used to send an email. While this error message is up, I do not get any unsolicited emails but once I click "OK" I will get more unsolicited emails until it hits anouther "incorrect domain" error. I can not find any of these emails in the Sent folder. I do not see them if I watch the Outbox.

I have run MalwareBytes scan (clean) AVG (clean) and Adwcleaner (clean now - found two things but nothing that fixed this problem) and still have the problem. I installed Thunderbird and let it run for several hours and no problems. It seems to me that the problem only occurs when Outlook is running but for the life of me, I can not find what the source of the problem is. I didn't find any suspicious programs running nor installed.

Short of stopping the use of Outlook, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get to the source of the problem?

Answer:Outlook sending unsolicited emails

" I feel like I have tracked it down to something sending emails in the background when Outlook is running. "

Are you sure it's only when Outlook is open and not when the PC is just on? Usually malware wouldn't want for the application to open to send email. Also, how often?

For some time, my MS-Outlook 2003 has been reluctant to send out emails. they seem to just stay in my outbox for an inordinate amount of time. I quit the application, then reopen and sometimes that does the trick, othertimes not. I restart the computer and sometimes this does the trick, othertimes not. I have run detect and repair for the software, and also run BugDoctor, PC Medik and other stuff, but cannot seem to find a reason for this. When I try my email account settings, all is well and I have success in sending a test email.

Hello,

I have a strange anomoly happening with my Outlook 2007. I have attached an image to help explain what is happening.

Sometimes when I send an email, it says that it is 'Sending Message 8 of 8'. If you look in the Outbox, there is only 1 email in there. I have caught it before and jumped to my Outbox to make sure there were not any emails hanging in there, but there wasn't.

When this happens, it's always 8 of 8. I don't know why this is happening, but I would sure like to figure this one out!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I have 3 POP/SMTP accounts and 1 MAPI (hotmail) account configured. The last couple of days they are presenting problems because they will not allow me to send an email. I have tried sending one email from any one of the three to the other, or any other recipient and the error is this:

"Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: test
Sent: 2/7/2014 5:30 PM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

() on 2/7/2014 5:30 PM
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient."
Now the weird thing, this error message gets sent to the hotmail (MAPI)address almost immediately, which by my understanding, has nothing at all to do with the SMTP accounts. These accounts receive fine. Several resets, malware/virus scans no problems indicated.

I did notice that the TO: email address gets changed to "()"

I would expect that it is incoming spam rather than a response to something you are really sending. This happens quite often and is an normally an attempt at trying to get you to click on something. Quite often people see timestamps on the supposedly sent message when their PCs were not even on.

If I open Outlook, and wait till its fully loaded,i.e. its done a full sweep and downloaded any new emails,
if I then try and send ( or even reply back to a new email, the following happens.

If I try and send another one the same thing happens except the figure now changes to [ 2 ]
That was tried at 10:50 yesterday morning and its still there after I booted up this morning

Answer:Outlook 1010 not sending emails

The solution on this thread seemed to be associated with Avast scanning outgoing mail. Are you using Avast for your AV by any chance?

Hey guys, I have a fairly fresh install of windows. I have malwarebytes and avast antivirus. I have scanned a few times and nothing is coming up but I keep getting the mailer failure notices every couple of days saying that this message:

"...Stop you ! Treatment is almost in your hands!"
".Are you ready to have some fun? Let’s do it together! "

and a few others that are being sent to everyone in my contact list. I have work contacts, family, etc and it's extremely embarrassing. As a temporary fix Ive had to remove all of my contacts. But this is very bothersome. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Spyware Sending Emails via Outlook

Do you see these messages in the Sent Folder of that email account in Outlook? If not then these messages are not being sent via Outlook. Remember Outlook is linked to an online email account via POP or IMAP. That means that the account would have been compromised online and not on your local machine. Change your password immediately!

I currently run Outlook 2010, I have already set up an email account.

My problem is as follows;

If I open Outlook, and wait till its fully loaded,i.e. its done a full sweep and downloaded any new emails,

if I then try and send ( or even reply back to a new email, the following happens.

I see that the Archives Outbox is bold and has a figure [ 1 ] ( in green ) this stays and stays and stays even if I close Outlook down even if I reboot, it is still there.

If I try and send another one the same thing happens except the figure now changes to [ 2 ]
That was tried at 10:50 yesterday morning and its still there after I booted up this morning

Please help

I can't send or forward emails in outlook express 6. I can receive messages. Verizon is my new service and their Tech support say that my settings are correct. I get a 553 Error message saying that my server is being rejected. Any ideas?

Answer:Sending emails in Outlook Express 6

Some ISPs use "POP before SMTP" to prevent spammers using the servers.

This means that if you check for received mail (POP) it will then allow you to send mail (SMTP) for a short time afterwards.

This process is very common if you are connecting using another ISP for access. Please check that your connection is direct to the new ISP (Verison) and not accidentally still via the old one.

An error 553 suggests the time window from POP access has expired, and sending is denied.

While this is the common reason for a 533 error, its possible other reasons could exist.

Hey guys,

I've only developed this problem since the morning today. I can't send emails using my Outlook account, but i'm receiving emails just fine. Upon some investigation, I found that my IP range in listed on the PBL on Spamhaus.org. I tried releasing it twice from there but that doesn't seem to be working. It keeps saying this.

"Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)"Click to expand...

I'm only having this issue with my @hybridarts.co domain. my @cliqueinternational.com domain is working fine on a different profile. Any help?!

Scubatony, Welcome to the windows 7 forum.

Have you taken a look a the outgoing settings for your email. Like the smtp port and such.
What ISP are you using?
Many times they provide all the information for your outlook advanced settings.

I do not want emails coming into Outlook without first going through my Mail Washer Pro. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

This is a confusing question to me. I'm asking for a friend of mine who I have been giving phone support to and walking them through setting up their email accounts in Outlook 2003. It was working for a while and they changed something (I do not know where) and now it is not sending emails. Apparently he is receiving them just fine.

What happens when he sends an email is it shows it going out of his Outbox and goes to his Sent Box. A few seconds later an email is dispatched to his Inbox from System Administrator, Undeliverable: Website. This is the error message in the body, 553 sorry, that domain isn't allowed to be relayed thru this MTA (#5.7.1), along with the date, time and intended recipient's name.

I am not very good with Outlook and was hoping for some insight on what might be causing this. My friend lives a couple hours away but is willing to drop off their laptop for me to look at. (Somehow, being the "Excel" guy means I'm the "computer" guy. Yeesh.) Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I"m using Outlook 2007 so we have some differences.  Anyway, I'm wondering why you are doing current activity (new messages and replies to recent messages) in the Archives area.  Do you not have an Outbox under Personal Folders, which is outside of Archives?

I just got a message from my friend asking if I've sent him any emails lately, and I said no, but to my dismay, he'd received a couple emails from me in the last couple days that contained attachment. Obviously he didn't open them. And I've been getting those same kinds of emails sent to me from people I dont' know for the past week.

Sounds like I have a worm, however, I've scanned with an update norton, and ran adaware, spybot etc, and they don't detect anything. My email address is quite new, only about a month old and i've only given it out to my friends. So my question is, how did I contract this worm? (I want to know to avoid this situation again cause I don't like the fact that i'm sending out things that I don't know about) What can I use to detect/remove this worm?

"I get an error that an incorrect domain is being used to send an email."

What is the error exactly?

Hello everybody and thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure why my 1st post didn't work, sorry if this is a duplicate.

I have outlook configured with 4 different emails, through 4 different SMTP servers and they have been working fine for months.

Last night, after a 20 minute power outage, Outlook has been giving me the error below, regardless of which email account I use.

Task '[email protected] - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
Any ideas on what got messed up and how to fix it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Step 1: Get delivery and read receipt confirmations - Outlook

Step 2: Encrypt email messages - Outlook
This works for the current 2010 if your using office 2013 or office 360 check the settings in it and see if it may apply as well.

Both of these combined should be enough for the office worker needing this.

I work for a small non-profit and use ebase/Filemaker to send emails to a list of members who have signed up for our email newsletter. I recently installed the (old) service packs and now it prompts me - as a security feature to prevent a program from sending emails without my knowledge - before sending each individual email. I find that I have to send them individually rather than as one large batch because my ISP blocks out emails with too many addresses.

Is there a way to shut off this feature for the short period of time periodically when I need to send emails to our members?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It doesn't stay on the outbox, it stays on the sent items. All the recipients doest receive the mail. And i'm having <rx> Mail queued for delivery. on outlook log.

I tried it with another computer with same setup, same email account, same email, same recipients and number of recipients. 1 BCC entry went through and was received ok and i was also able to send with 3 or more BCC entry and email was received properly.

If anyone can pin point what is the problem, i would greatly appreciate it.

Gday all
I am visiting UK and am unable to send emails from my laptop. I can receive emails through TPG in Australia so the incoming mail server is set correctly.
I have tried a number of alternatives for the outwards mail settings (SMTP)but it still does not work. The settings that I have used pass the first four checks but does not pass the last test which is to send a test message.
The house where I am staying for the next six weeks uses Sky but that may only be for internet and TV as I think that their emails may be with Yahoo although I do not know whether Yahoo is .co.uk OR .com Having said that, I guess that I would need to know the Outlook settings for Sky.
Any suggestions that will help me connect?

Hi

Don't know if anyone can help, running outlook express 6 on ME. The problem I keep getting is Emails keep getting stuck in the outbox and then telling me that the smtp server is not repsonding - I have increased the time out but no change. The starnge thing is I can login to a webmail on the server and send to that email addr no problems at all. It only happens with certain email addr's, so emails go and some don't.

I have tried deleting lots of emails incase outlook was struggling - no change tried sending from a different email address on the same server no difference. No issues with emails coming in just some that are going out.

The problem has only just recently started to become a problem and I have changed no settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I can receive emails but not send them. This started a couple of days ago and I could send some but others would remain in outbox un-italicised (is that a word?) and not move. Now this applies to all messages I want to send whether I'm writing a new one, replying or forwarding. The message will very briefly be in italics and then change.

At first I thought that it might be something to do with which address it automatically used - I don't know why some have the name in inverted commas followed by the address within pointy brackets but I had thought those messages weren't going while others were but it now seems to be all. It makes no difference whether I type in the address, use the automatic one, or select from contacts.

I can receive emails.

I'm using Windows XP, Outlook 2007

Really don't know what to do now. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

When sending or answering emails from outlook I instantly get an "Undeliverable" mail back. You say that you can't send from Outlook but can send OK from OE.However, if you have both Outlook and OE installed on a PC you must select one or the other as the default mail handler.Seems to me that OE is set up as your default but Outlook isn't actually set up to handle mail - hence it won't send for you.

I have been using outlook 2007 with vista for over 6 months now and everything was working fine. all of a sudden emails were not being sent (ie they remained in the outbox). i got an error box saying:reported error (0x800CC78): cannot send the message. verify email address in your account properties. the server responded: 550 5.7.1 Access denied.also, i am not able to delete any emails: from sent items folder - i get a window saying 'the folder is full', and if i try deleting from deleted items folder, i gert a window saying: 'The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook'.

can anyone please help me?? when i use the servers website to send emails, it works. however it is very inconvenient

Hi, I use Windows 7 with MS Outlook 2010. I routinely send emails each day with multiple addressees Bcc'd. (I'm a rescue animal volunteer transport coordinator and need to send transport run sheets to my drivers list and maintain their privacy by using Bcc.) This past week, I discovered that my emails with multiple addressees Bcc'd were not arriving at destination. My email appears in the Sent Items folder and I have received no bounced messages notifications or notification that my ISP (Roadrunner) webserver is denying my outbound emails; that does happen occassionally due to the volume of recipients Bcc'd on multiple emails. This is a new problem, though I have sent emails this way successfully for over 4 years without issues. Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening? I have no clue where to even begin to look for what the problem may be. Many thanks!

Paula F.

Answer:MS Outlook not sending emails with multiple Bcc addressees

I would try to send the same email with the same recipients through the web interface (provider's website) if you can to see if it works that way. If it works that way (I suspect it won't) then I would suggest recreating your Outlook profile (which I can provide you with basic steps, if needed). If it does not work that way, you will need to contact your email provider to see why the emails are being stopped. I suspect it is being blocked per volume or something like that on their end. There's a very slight chance they've even changed a policy to disallow the BCC field altogether, though I doubt it. Good luck!

Hi, each time I open Outlook (not Outlook Express), the 'send/receive' dialogue at the bottom of the screen says it's sending 1 of 4 messages. It then stops and comes up with an error, telling me to contact my ISP.I did this, but they ignored my question and merely told me to get the account validated by Yahoo - the messages were being sent from a sub account address. I'd already tried a test email from Outlook anyway and the Yahoo procedure said the address was ok too. I have all my emails forwarded from Yahoo to Outlook. I've since sent plenty of emails from this sub account without any problems. It just seems as if they are stuck - any idea what the equivalent of a dose of Ex-Lax would be for Outlook? There's nothing that I can actually see to delete, and if I cancel send/receive, it simply repeats itself the next time I use it.Thanks

Hi,

I'd like to create something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56rHTcQf0KA&feature=related. I have a table with email addresses and would like to create app that would allowed me to have drop down list with all email addresses from a column of the table; possibility of cc and bcc, attachments and msg field. Anyone could help me with VBA for that please? I am quite new to Access and VBA.
I don't want to use Outlook.

Thank you in advance

Art.

Hey all... wondering if anyone can shed some light on this as I'm stumped!!

My boss has his pretty standard WinXP (SP2) system with Outlook Express 6.
Now, on a regular basis he will create an email template and save to desktop - ready to send to various different clients with varying details included etc...

Suddenly today after having saved the email to desktop, upon opening the .eml file the To: boxes and all the other 'top-boxes' are greyed out as if the mail has already been sent I cannot even find an 'edit' option in the drop-downs....

Seems weird that this has just started happening randomly and was wondering if there's a simple solution! - (or a difficult one even!) (and sure we've tried restarting etc.. just will NOT play ball!! )

Thanks in advance for ANY help given !!!

Have just replaced Outlook 2003 with 2010. I have one admin account and two user accounts in Vista. Both users have found their 2003 Outlook info, email address and old emails etc. One user works fine, the other won't send emails. Tried disabling Norton emails checker and Outlook add-ins. Outlook email send/receive Progress box just says "Processing". No error reports.Any ideas on how to clear this log-jam?

Answer:Outlook 2010 blocks sending emails

If you create a new Mail Profile AND THEN start Outlook in Safe Mode (by holding down the Ctrl Key as you start it) you should be able to get it up and running.

Using gmail today i noticed several items in my Gmail web, sent mail folder that I had not sent. They were all from me, to 4 contacts, one of whom got a majority of these messages. They appeared to be sent from Outlook, as I use IMAP, and they each had a winmail.dat file 0k, attached.

Subject said "NOT READ: fwd(etc....)
Or, others were relevent, 'NOT READ: final copy of flyer for reveiw" which i had sent the exact subject heading to this person months ago.

Last suspicious activity was sending a email in outlook to [email protected](DO NOT CLICK) responding to craigslist advertisement.

I unplugged my IMAP service until i figure this out. I had NO ANTIVIRUS CONNECTED AS I JusT RESTORED MY PC.

is it possible 'they' had acces to my very sensitive google docs? files? I changed my Gogle account password immediately, but could it be too late?

ANY HELP ADVICE ON WHAT MY NEXT STEP IS, BESIDES EMAILING MY CONTACTS AND ASKING THEM NOT TO OPEN TONGIHTS EMAILS?

I have set up my Hotmail Account to use my Microsoft Outlook application. This has been fine for a few years, but in the past several weeks, I've noticed a distracting indicator at the bottom of my screen, showing a large number of emails that supposedly are currently being "sent." I say "supposedly" because there are NO emails in my outbox when this happens, and because the number it says it is 'sending' are hundreds and sometimes thousands (E.G., by the time i notice it, it might say, "sending message 2,349 of 2,457"). The only way i can get it to stop is by shutting down Outlook, then logging in again).

Apparently, it is spontaneously "sending" phantom emails? emails from my deleted files? emails from my already sent files?? and where it is "sending" them?

Has anyone had this experience? and do you know how to stop this from happening?

Answer:MSN Outlook program--sending phantom emails

The first thing to do is use a different device and change your password.

Until two days ago I had no problems sending gmail via SMTP.gmail.com. Now I get an error message saying 'Your outgoing server does not support SSL-Secured connections." No changes were made to the email account settings. I have checked them : the ports are correct and the SSL box is ticked for both incoming and outgoing ports. I use Norton and MS and both do automatic updates from time to time. I wonder if some update is causing the difficulty? Any ideas about what could be blocking my outgoing messages would be appreciated.

hi.
I do receive messages but cannot send them (or reply). this is the message that apears everytime i try:

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop.tiscali.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.tiscali.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 cm11gb1 smtp.talktalk.net ESMTP server not available', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F

I found and tried a4year old forum link telling me to delete the outbox.dbx files without success.

here are the detail of the account:
outgoing server: smtp.tiscali.co.uk (25)
incoming server: pop.tiscali.co.uk (110)

many boxes for password/authentification.. of which i have no idea if they have to be ticked...

would appreciate help if possible.

Looking for some help with this one.. it has me stumped.

Outlook 2007, POP3/SMTP. Mail server isn't the issue as it can be duplicated across 3 different SMTP servers.

When I send emails from Outlook 2007 with a file attachment of say around 5mb, the email gets sent ~40-50 times to the recipient.

Running NOD32.

Why and how do I fix it?

Thanks for any insight.

Greetings, folks.  One of our clients has a PC that will only allow the user to send 3 emails before it locks up.  "Outlook.exe" is still running in task manager and cannot be killed.  The PC has to be shut down hard (holding the power button in) as it hangs during a soft restart.
The PC is a Lenovo E540 running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.  Office is Office 2013 Home and Business with Outlook attached to an Office 365 account.  All software up to date.
If we start Outlook in Safe mode (just Outlook, not Windows) then everything works fine.  I can send dozens of test emails with no problems at all.
So here's what I've done.
Disabled Hardware Acceleration, including adding an entry in the Registry (HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Office/15/Graphics/DisableHardwareAcceleration=1)  Effect: no change.
Disabled all add-ins.  Effect: no change.
Uninstalled the antivirus client (Trend Micro).  Effect: no change.
Desktop Session Manager service disabled.  Effect: this caused a number of problems--I couldn't even get into Outlook--so I re-enabled it.
I removed some components from a previous version of Office (2010) but since that is only Visio, I didn't remove everything.  Effect: no change.
Office repair (both quick and web-based) from Control Panel.  (Pro tip:  the web-based one is basically a re-install, so have your code ready.)  Effect: no change.
The user's mailbox file is located on a network drive, but since everyone's is... Read more

Answer:Outlook 2013 crashes after sending 3 emails.

I hate to say this, but these types of jobs are my favorites, the tough ones.

Thoughts...

How large the OST file? Did you try keeping it local and not on the server? Can you check for graphics card updates? Can you turn off the cache for testing?

I would go to the disabled items and see what is going on there. I have found enabling some items fixes issues (like appledev! fixes icloud)

Finally, check his "large attachments" and make sure one big fattie didn't sneak in. Sometimes I have seen large ones cause the issues.

Is that his only email account in that profile?

I have had some struggles with Outlook and graphics cards, even with the disabled hardware accelerator. I think the Nvidia update was one my tech had to do to make one clients work ok.

Hello All,
My client asked me if he could send an email to all his clients through Outlook 2003 that he has sorted in a certain category. I explained how he would do that (using the Actions menu, New Message to Contact, etc.). The problem now is that this process only uses the first email from each contact. In this situation, the email needs to go out to all email addresses within a contact (example, it may be a husband and wife in one contact and the email needs to reach both).

ANYWAY, does anyone know how to achieve this?

Thanks in advance, Randy.

I have one client who hosts with us on my VPS... For some reason when he sends an email, the email is sent but it doesn't get removed from his Outbox into his Sent Items. It just stays in the Outbox. So the email sends over and over and over.

I think it might have something to do with maybe his firewall or anitvirus software. He uses trendmicro.

The annoying thing is it happens to all their computer sin the office. He's still yet to confirm this but he doesn't think trendmicro is installed on all the computers that are having the issue.

Any ideas what the issue could be?

Answer:Outlook sending emails but not moving them to sent items..

I would check the settings on his Outlook first. There may be a setting for the outgoing mail that could be just a hair off which is why is stays. Since it doesnt see itself as being sent.

Check the Send/Recieve logs. I can almost bet that you will see there was a connection error when trying to send which is why this is happening. Most likely a timeout from teh smtp server which cause the mail to get sent but reported as a error on his end.

At least that is 1 possibility. It could be TrendMicro as well.
