Question: Email filter in Gmail

I'm using Gmail to forward emails to another address. Can you tell me how to set the filter so it will only send emails from certain addresses and exclude all other addresses.

Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Email filter in Gmail

Ok, I found the way to do it myself.

Hello tech guys,

used to move some emails coming into the promotion tab to be received into the primary [inbox] directly,
after this I noticed that some of the newsletter senders keep flooding with lot of emails everyday,
I wanted to return them into the promotions tab,
I tried to practice the same steps - by:
filter message like this >> next >> create filter >>
but this did not work,
I tried this several times but still coming into my inbox directly, and I dont want to block or spam them.
just to redirect into the promotions tab,
Any solution or idea about this ti share here please?
thanks

I just linked one of my email accounts to my personal gmail account so I could consolidate all my email but I found that it is much too cluttered. Now I have a mess in my personal gmail account.

How can I delete all the email from the linked account (which is now removed, but messages are still downloading) from my personal gmail inbox?

thanks

Answer:how to delete all email from a specific linked email address in gmail

Go to : Settings > Filters

The trick is to put a TO or FROM in the search field and hit TEST SEARCH, instead of applying the filter. Then delete what is in the search results. Now I don't know of a way to do this by account, but as long as you know the recipient or sender address (which would be your old email), then it should work fine. In your case, just put the sender address as your old email account and test the search, it should pull up all the email for you to delete

Cheers

I am in the process of setting up a home business and wish to set up a separate business email account with low set up costs. I currently have a personal Hotmail and Gmail accounts but wish to create a secondary Gmail account for my business. I do not have a registered domain name. I tried numerous ways to set up a secondary gmail account without success it would initially accept the new gmail address but when it would ask to activate the account, it would not allow me to login to the account to do this. It would come up with a message advising that the account address is unknown. So I would again go through the process and it would then advise that the username is already taken, so I just keep on going around in circles. I then went into Google Apps for business in which it would ask me to register my domain name for a fee of $13 per year. However, the domain name would be registered under the two option provided Enom and Go Daddy. Neither in which I am familiar with. Can you please offer some assistance. My first preference would be setting up a secondary gmail account and if not is google apps for business a reliable avenue in registering my business name in order to obtain a professional separate business email account and if so which provider is the better option. Keeping in mind I wish to keep the costs at a minimum at this stage.

My email account is with a local ISP, ie. not one of the majors
like gmail or hotmail. I use Thunderbird on Linux as my email
client. The ISP uses Postini for email security.

I am being flooded by spam emails, which I suspect have the
same source. All are from hotmail addresses, with the sender
name a somewhat garbled combination of letters. The "to" address
does not appear to be my own, but I receive the emails anyway.
Since neither the "from" or "to" addresses are constant, I have
been unable to filter them out in either Postini or in Thunderbird.

I'm more than a novice but less than an expert, and I think I
understand that the sender address can be spoofed, tho I'm unclear
on how my own address can be spoofed such that I receive emails
that do not appear to be addressed to me.

Certainly my basic question is how can this happen and how can
I put a stop to it. Beyond that, what I'd really appreciate is a
pointer to some article, website, etc that would help me understand
the mechanics of this type of spamming, and the methods or options
to filter it out.

Thks, Gus

Hello.

I am about to buy new cell phones from Verizon.

iPhones look good and seem to do what I want, BUT I am using POP3 email from newwave.

I use email a lot and have Outlook Express designed with a lot of different folders, like Money, Health, Vendors, etc, with sub categories under each of those and several others.

I also have an inactive gmail account. I would just use gmail entirely on my laptop and whatever new cell phone I choose, but I cannot identify any way to add the folders as described above to gmail.

Also, I cannot use newwave/OE through the internet and see my added folders.

Answer:email on iphone using gmail or a POP3 email

Gmail doesn't use folders. Well they do, but they call them labels, just to help with the confusion.

Hi,

Using Outlook how do I filter my incoming messages to go to certain folders. I have 3 different email addresses and what I want is to have 3 folders, with the incoming mail to go to the appropriate folder. So 'email address 1' to go to 'email address 1' folder, 'email address 2' to go to email address 2 folder and so on. How do I do this?

Thanks,
Alex

Answer:Outlook - filter email to certain folders

Create your folders, then under tools go to rules and create a rule to sort the mail.

I have a client that was having issues with receiving payroll from their bank.  I found a filter created (this is all on a single, isolated station) that deleted all emails from @banksdomain.com.  They use Gmail for Business, and this was last Friday.  I did a quick Malwarebytes scan and didn't find anything that caught my attention.  Today I get a call that they had an unauthorized transfer from their bank account.  They immediately contacted their bank's fraud department, and I advised her to change her passwords. They are still in contact with their bank who is looking into where it originated (online/wire transfer) and to who it was transferred to.

So my question is, can these two occurrences be related?  Can malware create an email filter in Gmail?  Possibly to delete any notification emails about changes to her bank account? And then run a keylogger (maybe?) to access bank credentials. . .

Thanks,
Greg

I too have seen phishing attempts to infect my pc with an email subject something like

Order to Appear Federal Court.
It should be obvious this is a phishing attempt as court orders do not arrive via email, but rather using a legal process server delivering the document to you in person to your home or work address.

The subject is intentionally written to invoke panic in the reader (OMG!) and enough adrenaline to get to click and read. If you open the attachment - - you've been suckered and infected.

After seeing two or three of these, I automated the delete using an email filter like

sender contains lawyers.com action delete
How did I find the origin of the email? Using tools, I saved the email to disk without opening it in my email reader. Once on the disk, you can open with NOTEBOOK; Launch notebook and drag-n-drop the email into it.

reading raw email is - - arduous, but look for

To: <your-email-address>
From: [email protected]
Subject: the phishing email title
The from line always varies but always ends in lawyers.com

I have some questions about spam in emails.

What is the best program to use against spam via a pop email account? Best freeware one and best pay for one.

How do you stop gettings hundreds of emails in per day that are just plain junk? Got a client with this problem and I'm not very experienced when it comes to emails since I don't use email much. No viruses or spyware are on his system. We called her isp too and they said she had a virus and it wasnt thier problem and I checked her system and she had 0 viruses or spyware with the latest versions of AVG and spybot.

Answer:Email spam filter questions

Best spam filtering software is hands down Norton AntiSpam. I have it and it works great. It integrates with Outlook 2000, XP, 2003, etc. Uses no resources, in fact you cant tell it's even installed except that it filters the spam. It is incredibly accurate. PC Magazine reviewed several spam applications...MacAfee, Norton, and some others. Norton won by a large margin.

The free ones they reviewed all seemed to perform poorly. Especially compared to Norton or even MacAffee's antispam software.

If I define the ?To:? as my email address and use the ?IS NOT? on this To: address, then ask it to move that spam email to the Discard folder then it should work, BUT IT DOES NOT. It moves correctly addressed emails to the Discard folder.Could this be that the ?To:? email address is changed to my name by the sender when its sent. It gets the name from the Outlook Express (Version 5.5) address book.EXAMPLETo: [email protected]When I look at the incoming email it displays my name ? On a previous message that I posted a few days ago, I asked why ISP providers don't filter out virus emails. A few people responded with ISPs that do.I'm with NTL broadband and use NTL and Yahoo emails, but neither filter the virus emails out (or at least if they do, I haven't found the option that does this yet!)I want to stick with NTL broadband as my ISP, so is there a third-party email provider that filters out virus emails? I want one that really does not send them to me - Yahoo segregates them into a 'bulk' email folder, but this quickly uses up my 6Mbyte allocation, with the 40 or so Microsoft update virus emails I get per day.

Answer:Email accounts that filter out viruses

I think you are seeking the impossible. Most ISP's have filtering software that REDUCES the amount of virus's that you receive. Indeed, during the last episode, many thousands of virus's were stopped, but the onus is on you to have up to date anti-virus software, that scans your e-mail as it comes in.If you choose to enable heuristics within your scanning software, as yet unknown virus's may be trapped. The bottom line is, it's sad to think that people that have the skill level required to write virus's, don't put their skill to better use!

Okay I took over control of the Surf Control spam filter at my new job a while back and pretty much walked into a mess. The previous person has everything locked down way to tight, and by that I mean his rule sets are very strict causing about 150-200 non spam emails a day to get caught. The temporary fix is that I have to go through the filter about once an hour and read and release a bunch of emails. My question is..Is this normal for Surf Control? I have administrated Pure Messenger and a bit of Blue Coat in the past but very minimally and not with the control over it I have now. Is this a normal thing for seasoned admins or is this because the previous admin who admitted he locked it down so he could catch stuff go way overboard? The previous admin is no longer here so that piece of the problem is gone. Thanks

Answer:Surf Control Email FIlter

From my experience as a previous Surf Control email filter admin... yes. The automated methods built into SC were decent, but I found I could improve its accuracy to nearly 100% by quarantining questionable emails. The rules system is very, very flexible, and given the architecture (with its real-time monitoring and quarantining built-in) it appeared to me that this was the way the system was designed to be used.

Take a look at what the system is catching, and you can decide to disable those rules or not.

Hi,I feel compelled to recommend a little free spam email filter download called Magic Mail Monitor. Does anyone else have it? It is one of my most useful & used programs on my PC. I found it on the web about 7 years ago & having just recently input a friends list this brilliant piece of software now deletes 99% of my spam at the server so the nasties don't even get to my PC at all. In addition I have over 500 filters that I have configured over the years. I can't say how satisfying it is to see 30 odd spam emails get deleted when I first log on in the morning & subsequently throughout the day!!Usefully it also shows me what has been deleted so I can double check just to see if there is any email which should have actually got to me.Magic Mail Monitor is not supported any longer but is still available on the web I believe. I think I got it from a download site at Canterbury University.Anyway, I highly recommend it. It's small, unobtrusive & does the job.Cheers.Jules.

Hey, I have a question to anyone using MS Outlook 2003 out there. I just moved from Mozilla Thunderbird to Outlook and was wondering about the junk mail filter. When a junk mail would get through the filter into my Inbox, I could tell Thunderbird that it was a junk mail and train the filter that way.

I don't think you can do this. How can I "train" Outlook to recognize junk mail WITHOUT adding the sender to a blocked list. I have never had 2 junk emails from the same sender, so that just seems like a waste of space on the filter list.

Thanks everyone

Ok I remember testing outlook 2010 4-5 years ago, I had to revert to outlook 2007 for one single reason.

When The junk email filter is disabled (so only block via blocked senders) it was still automatically filtering emails and the outlook filter list is very bad tons of false positives.

After reinstalling windows I decided to give outlook 2010 another shot, as after 4-5 years have passed and 2 service packs this bug must be gone right?

Seems not.

I have attached an image showing auto filtering is off, the sender is defenitly not in the blocked senders list which I imported from outlook 2007 (which this problem doesn't occur). There is no TLD's or encoding's blocked.

So I have put a red square around the reasoning for the junk email folder which is it says its been put there by the junk email filter (which should be impossible as its disabled, and I have put in the option box showing that. I have blanked out personal details.

Any ideas, is it a bug or is some extra setting causing this?

Answer:outlook 2010 long standing junk email filter bug

Messages Still Going To Junk With Junk Filters Turned Off?!

I have used that registry as a workaround for now. As I cant have important emails going to junk, but this removes the ability to use a manual block list.

Good morning,

I need a little help with a project I am working on. What I have is an incident alert system. I have attached an example workbook (Excel 2003) for easier understanding.

On sheet 1, column B4, I have a Data Validation List, whereby a user can select which area is being problematic. Column C is a free-text cell where they can type in a short message explaining what the problem is. Column D is a button that they click that will fire off an email to a group of managers.

Sheet 2 is a list of all the areas and the manager responsible for that area.

What I need is a one-button macro that will:

1) In Sheet 2 column A, automatically apply a filter, based on whatever is currently the value of Sheet 1, B4.(whatever the user selects from the dropdown list). This will possibly be a filter based on ActiveCell value, I think?

2) Send off an email to each manager of the area that has been filtered in step 1.

2.1) The contents of Sheet 1, B4 and C4 should be the body of the email.

Example:

To: John Smith([email protected]); Samuel Jackson([email protected])
Subject: SMS (this subject is always fixed as, yes, it's actually sending a text message via email to the manager's cell phone)
Message:
Incident: (value of Sheet 1, B4)Lobby - (value of Sheet 1, C4)Strange man loitering in the lobby.

Is this possible?

I hope I've explained clearly enough what I need. I'm not great at that. :s

A very annoying window has started up after a recent update to Zone Alarm. It says "Zone Alarm Junk email and anti fraud filter" and is part of the Security Suite.

I have used MSconfig to get rid of it and gone through the Zone Alarm options many times.

Zone Alarm says its off and I have removed it from the startup list several times but it will not go away.

This company is becoming much like Symantec. They want to invade your computer and take it over no matter what you think. I am about to stop using it after this latest experience.

forgotten password and cannot get on, you can ask me anything and ill know the answer besides my password

Answer:cannot get in to my email, gmail

There's nothing we can do directly from this site as it has nothing to do with GMail, you need go to the GMail login page and click on the 'can't access your account' link below the sign-in box. Then it depends on how you set up the account originally. If you gave them an alternative email or a mobile number then it is easy enough to get your account reset. If you didn't then it can be a bit more complicated."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." Pink Floyd

Can anyone recommend a good (Windows 10) email client that I can use to access my gmail including contacts ?

I dont like using the browser, I have Outlook configured, but that only syncs the email ... contacts & calendar do not sync.

I'd really like an Outlook-like client that allows me to manage & sync email, contacts & (nice but not critical) calendar

Someone seems to be sending emails from my gmail account to my contacts. However, there is no record of the emails in my sent items. I've had people forward me the messages that were sent (usually a random link), and gmail flags them as suspicious. The only record I have of them is that occasionally they show up in my spam when the address is wrong and they bounce back (there is usually a error message that says " It seems to be a fake "bounce" reply to a message that you didn't actually send.")

I've changed my password several times, forwarded the email headers to google, turned on two-step verification and checked for any suspicious login activity. Any suggestions on what to do to fix this?

Thanks!

I have to take medication twice a day and I'm too often missing the second one about 10pm. It would help if I had a daily email reminder about this as I should hear the reminder arriving, either on my laptop or on my phone. Gmail help says this is possible - see pic - but nowhere can I find the Create button. I don't want to create this as a forever recurring event in Calendar as it clutters up the display too much.

Any ideas?

In your Gmail settings for fetching mail from another POP3 account there should be a check box for "Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server". Make sure the box is not checked if you want the message removed from the other server when Gmail picks it up.

Although I have a gmail account, I've never used the Gmail Notifier. But, after seeing http://email.about.com/od/gmailtips/qt/et_default_prog.htm, I get the impression it should do what you want. I suggest you visit the link and review it. I think you need to be sure you did this:
# Select Options from the menu.
# Make sure Use Gmail for internet mailto: links is checked.
# Click OK.

I searched the web and finally figured out how to fix this.
I use multiple devices to access the same gmail account.

Outlook was missing some of the emails on my notebook.
If this info helps you fix it, send me an email at [email protected]

The key is to change the settings in all your outlooks and on gmail online to use imap and not pop.

http://email.about.com/od/accessinggmail/f/Gmail_SMTP_Settings.htm

The key was to not change your POP in outlook (it would not let me anyways) but to add a new account and set it up as IMAP then delete the pop.

Gmail SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com
Gmail SMTP user name: Your full Gmail address (e.g. [email protected])
Gmail SMTP password: Your Gmail password
Gmail SMTP port: 465
Gmail SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes
Start Outlook 2007.
On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
Click New.
Click Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, and then click Next.
In the Auto Account Setup dialog box, click to select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types check box, and then click Next.
Click Internet E-Mail, and then click Next.
In the Server Information section, select IMAP for Account Type.
In the Your Name box, enter your name exactly as you want it to appear to recipients.
In the E-mail Address box, type your e-mail address.
In the User Name box, type your account name.
In the Password box, type your password.
In the Incoming mail server box, type the name of your IMAP4 server.

Hi,

I normally send emails to my Virtual assistant (VA) and I use Yesware to track my emails. My VA has a gmail account, and as per Gmail's policy, Gmail does not give you the location of the receiver. However, all emails I send to my VA's Gmail address, show up in my yeswar as opened and it shows the location and IP of the VA. Also, every single email is shown as "opened" as soon as I send it, irrespective of the time of the day. The VA Claims that she does not use "Outlook" or any other client to download the emails. The IP shown in the emails, is indeed her IP Address. I wonder, what could be causing this?

When I send emails to other gmail users, Yesware simply shows "Gmail", which is consistent with Gmail's policy. I thought that the VA's machine could be compromised, however she confirmed that the IP did belong to her, so this is indeed very strang. Would be interested in your thoughts on this.

Thanks

Does anyone know of a Good email reader for Gmail that will basically sort by sender and then by date for that sender either ascending or descending date. And then also when you delete, it would actually delete the message, it would put it in trash similar to how it works on Gmail.com and Google's own GMail and Inbox apps on Android? Will the Windows 10 Mail app do all the above or do I need something else? I'm asking because I have about 200,000 emails in my gmail.com box and thunderbird would not do it as it will crash while loading the mailbox, this is on a system with 32GB of RAM and a Intel Core i7 2.2Ghz processor based on Sandy Bridge on a ASUS G74SX-3DE 3D Notebook.

Hey Almighty1-

I'm not 100% sure i understand what you're looking for, but I use MailBell which allows you to read the mail while on the server and then delete it if you wanted to.

ePrompter will also do some of that, but I don't know how compatible it is with Win-10.

Answer:Reciving other peoples email ??? (in my gmail)

GreekEnigma, I have removed the images from your post. Each of them contained email addresses. While they may not have been your email address, the do belong to someone else. It's not wise to post email addresses in a public place on the internet. Doing so can lead to more spam being received from those who troll the internet looking for addresses to send their junk to.Now, to answer your question. The most likey explanation is that a spammer has sent out mass spam to a lot of addresses which are similar to yours. They use BCC for all but one of the email addresses. BCC hides the other receipient addresses. If your address is in the BCC list you will get the mail. The banned account email seems to also be spam. If you have never had an account set up with whatever site it says you were banned from then yes it is spam.Any attachments in the mails could contain something that will infect your system or it could be phishing for personal information.Simply delete the mails when you get them.

I have a yahoo mail account that I've been using for many, many years, but today is the day I think I've finally had enough of their "temporary error 14" thing not allowing me to log in for hours at a time, when my other yahoo mail address works fine.

So I'm considering creating a gmail account, since I already have a Google account anyways. I prefer web-based email for my needs. Assuming it's possible and not already taken, I'd like to create a gmail email using the same email name as my primary yahoo name. Of course I would be using a different strong password.

Does anybody see a security issue with this? Is it considered a bad idea to have 2 different email addresses from 2 different sites using the same email name?

Answer:yahoo and gmail - same email name - bad idea?

I don't see an issue with it, as long as you use a different password, I have 3 different e-mails the same(Yahoo, Outlook, GMail), and have had no issues with security or anything of the sort, all different passwords of course!

I currently own Lumia 520 and planning to buy Lumia 730 but wonders for issue I am facing with Lumia 520. Gmail is not able to sync properly. Many a times I have restart my phone but after 10 mins it starts again. Is this issue with all Lumia models?

Answer:Why isn'tmy email syncing from Gmail properly?

I have no problems with gmail sync on 3 Lumia's. Among them being a Lumia 735. The only thing that fails to work is searching through old e-mails on the server. But that is a Google problem.
I think your problem may be a software glitch. A hard reset would solve such strange issues usually. Yes, I know, a hard reset isn't what you want to hear, but it's how these issues are solved unfortunately.

When I attempt to respond via email to some sites, they say "send an email" and then offer a link, and that link opens Windows Live email.

I do not use Windows Live and wish to have my gmail account opened to allow me to send emails. What I wind up doing is time consuming:

I do allow Windows live to open and the copy the email address of the recipient and copy and paste to my gmail "compose".

Is there a setting I can adjust to make this so, that the default link automatically goes to gmail?

I use Chrome as my browser also, and rarely use IE 9, or 10 or whatever version IE is nowadays.

Please be very specific in your response.

Thanks in advance,
Robert

Answer:Using Gmail as default email account

If you use Chrome, then you can try this extension for Chrome.

Edit: I need to explain how this works on my machine.

I use Win 7 Pro. Control Panel>Programs>Default Programs. My default mail program is the Windows Live Mail 2011 email client.

So, when I use IE8, and I click on an email to: link, it opens into my Windows Live email client, which is configured to my Gmail account. Since I use the email client frequently, this is ok with me.

But I also use Chrome - quite a lot actually. So, I installed the above-linked extension, which opens directly into my Gmail account (of course, in the process, and in the first instance, I have to go through the gmail login page).

Eventually, the email client and the Gmail account sync up as and when I use the former in online mode.

This is how it seems to work for me.

Although the data is there in excel:

Then I try to import to Windows Live Mail as so:

And it says "importing"..... and then nothing else. No contacts come in and no other message.

Please can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Answer:Import email contacts to WLM from gmail - how?

Sorry - didn't see this thread.

Yeah, the import in WLM and Outlook suffer the same problem. there is no "select all".

So you have to tick each field you want to import.... each time you perform an import. It does remember some fileds, but not the ones you might expect, such as name.

anyway, the default mapping should suffice - just tick all fields and try again.

I tried changing the passwords, but still the same thing. I have tried disabling Avast Mail protection and the firewall and still nothing. It just hangs at connecting and then stops, with nothing being downloaded or changed. I am able to log into the actual webmail itself with no issues, and I receive emails on my GS4 as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

For example, you can put something like [email protected] and when somebody sends an email to it, it redirects to your Gmail account (like [email protected]). Is there anyway to do this? I saw something like this on G4 and can't remember how they did it.

I recenlty deleted some programs on my computer to free up some disk space, I just deleted the ones I have not used in a while.  I don't know which ones I deleted.  I have Windows 2000 and us Internet Explorer for my search engine.  Ever since I deleted the programs I have been having problems.   I can still surf the web, but I can't open yahoo email or gmail.  I can go to the yahoo page and see that I have email but it doesn't allow me to access the email.  All I get a basically a blank page with some links on top.  Also, I can no longer play video on many of the news websites I frequent.  CNN, MSNBC, FOXNEWS.  There are some sites I can play video on.  I also can not open many links as well.   My main issue is I need to access my email.  I also have email from work which is web based which I can not access either.  And I can not access anything from work from my home computer anymore.  I have been told that the java scripting may have been deleted, I have made sure that it is enabled.  Someone else told me to reload Microsoft 2000, I can't because this computer was built by a private person and I don;'t have the disc for that.  I do have an old copy of microsoft 98.  Can anyone help?

Answer:Can't Open up yahoo or gmail email

Someone mentioned that they downloaded a different web browser and it helped them so I tried that.  I downloaded netscape and it worked!! I can now access both my gmail and yahoo email.  I am still not able to play video with Windows media player, when I try to open Windows Media Player up states that an "Internal Application Error has Occurred"  Does anyone know anything I can do about that? Thanks!

I just created a new gmail account, and imported all my old email from my yahoo email account to my new gmail account. All my messages imported okay into gmail, but for some random reason, a bunch of the emails disappeared from yahoo, although most remained. I have no idea why they disappeared, but I didn't want them to get deleted from yahoo. I just wanted them imported into gmail while keeping them on yahoo too.

So now I'm trying to figure out how to export the missing emails from gmail back to yahoo again. I have no idea how to do this and I've been trying to find out how on Google for over an hour now. There seems to be no straight forward way to do this. I find this hard to believe. It took just a couple minutes to go from yahoo to gmail, so shouldn't there be a way to get them from gmail back to yahoo again? I just want to import what's currently in my gmail inbox to my yahoo mail.

Don't ask why - for now i just want to keep a copy of these emails on both yahoo and gmail. There's got to be a way to do this. can anybody help?

Answer:help - can't import email from gmail to yahoo?

I have multiple email accounts: 1xGmail, 1xiCloud and 3 others hosted with other providers. Is there a way to integrate them so I can see them all from Gmail? Currently I have them all on MacMail, but planning to move to Gmail from Mac.

This only happens in chrome, but whenever I log into gmail and open an email, gmail reloads and resigns me in. I land back in my inbox.

I ran MalwareBytes and removed infected items but that did not fix the problem. I am at a loss at what to do. Please help.
