Browser Scrolling

Question: Browser Scrolling

I recently had to reload windows (XP) and now when I open my browser to a webpage, when I click on the right to scroll it up and down, the page scrolls up and down all choppy. What can I do to fix this? I've tried the advanced options setting smooth scrolling but that doesn't do anything. Can someone give me a little advice?

Thanks,

Rob

Preferred Solution: Browser Scrolling

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My IE window scrolls uncontrollably. up and down, up and down, and then sits at the bottom for a while and you can't scroll up. frustrating, very very frustrating. virus scan shows no viruses present, ive got spyblaster and spybot protection...anyone know whats up with this?

Answer:Help - scrolling browser

Do you have a scroll wheel on your mouse? it may be that you've inadvertently pressed it as this would produce the seemingly uncontrollable scrolling. Just press it again.

Hello I recent encounter a problem with scrolling in the browser. When page comes up with urls under a given topic I select "return," to commence scrolling to the urls in order from top to the next url and the scroll goes right to the bottom. I have to scroll back up to the top then click in the area of the urls before I can scroll secquenctially from top to the next url. Is there a setting that is causing this? Can you help? Thank you.

Hi,

Had no idea where to post this question, it kind of lands in a grey area, but seeing as my O/S is XP, thought this would be the most suitable place to start.

I have just performed a clean install, and am in the process of adding, all my AV, and program software. I have however noticed, that when I scroll with my mouse wheel, down the page, it kind of ripples rather than smoothly scrolling.

Have I maybe set my screen up at the wrong resolution? I didn't install any monitor drivers during the install, cos hey, the monitor is working after all. Could something be missing though?

It's not a major issue, but I would like to iron out all these little niggles early on to keep things working tip top.
Please feel free to suggest if this post would be better served in a browser area of the forum, or anywhere else for that matter.

Thankyou.

Answer:Jerky browser scrolling.

Did you install the driver for your video card (and did you obtain it from the oem website)?

Also, please open device manager - any yellow or red symbols?

This seems to happen no matter the browser. As i am scrolling up or down the page it will stop or freeze for a split second then continue. I have gone into the scroll settings an unchecked things and tried deactivating addons to no avail in pale moon or firefox to no avail. What global thing could cause this? 3 gigs of ram on windows 7 with a good processor. Nothing in startup other than a few things, i keep tghe machine lean. But it IS my PC at work so maybe a network thing. I can't ask IT to help, as they won't bother with this kind of thing.

I also have another symtom that i think is due to the same problem. When typing the cursor will freeze and the last few letters i typed will not show up for several seconds, then they all are rendered quickly.

Okay... so I recently (at the recommendation of a friend) installed Opera to try it out.

Well I like the browser just fine so far, but there's one problem: The scrolling feature on my touchpad just DOES NOT WORK at all in Opera.

Why?

So far, the following has been suggested:

Someone said "update the driver."
Well may I ask then: FROM WHERE? WHAT DRIVER UPDATE?
The only driver in existence (which I don't even know where I got it...) is the one I have.
It's an Alps touchpad apparently, and I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

Answer:No scrolling in Opera browser? Why not?

Though I use Opera, I am not familiar with touchpads. But while awaiting an answer here, you can also try the Opera support forum, which specializes on this rather unjustifiably neglected browser:

My browser windows, both of them (Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox) are lagging oddly whenever I scroll. There are no other lag issues with them, concerning buttons or loading pages. Whenever I try to scroll, however, it does so slowly and in bars. It seems to be worse the longer the page in question is. Is this a quick fix with resolution, or a more complicated problem? Can someone help me with it? It's getting very annoying.

Answer:Lags while scrolling in browser windows

Hi mercuis !

Run the task manager (ctrl + alt + del), look at the processes tab and tell us if there's any process other than the system idle process that's taking up the cpu ressources when that problem happens.

I learned the value of windows back up today. For years I had reformat to fix a messed up computer

I'm not a tard but I can't figure out how to fix my problem

I uninstalled programs most likely including some of the video driver stuff while I was trying to get rid of spy where. I can't find the driver or track down the model type from physically taking the video card out.

The actual problem is that when I use any windows browser or any internet browser it's lags on any scrolling. no other problems even with the file browser.

it's AGP, I don't have the install disc and have had difficulties getting the exact specs from the comp or the card itself

I've had a problem with the browsers I use hanging. It is most noticeable when I am using the scroll wheel on my mouse, scrolling down a page in an open window. It will hang for 1-3 seconds, as though a script is loading or something. At first I thought maybe it was a script or the page just waiting to finish loading, but I've let everything in the browser window finish loading and the problem just continues.

I thought at first it was a Firefox problem, so I tried IE8 and Google Chrome and the problem persists in those browsers as well.

There is no problem scrolling up, just down.

I've cleaned my system numerous times using Norton 360, Spybot S&D, CCleaner, PC Pitstop Optimize.

I've also thought maybe it was my mouse, so I downloaded new drivers and that solved nothing either.

It isn't causing any major issues, it is just a nuisance that I have been putting up with for a long time and have tried all I know to try to stop the problem with no luck. Now I'm enlisting the help of experts.

Thanks!

I use Firefox as my main internet browser. I'm occasionally coming across a problem where the internet page I'm viewing will suddenly start scrolling - all by itself, without me doing anything. For example, just a moment ago I was reading a webpage, not touching my mouse or keyboard and suddenly the page decided to scroll down to the bottom. I couldn't do anything to stop the scrolling. I have also noticed this on the odd occasion I have used Google maps. I will be searching a location, and when the map appears, the screen will suddenly start scrolling sideways across the map (to the left).Nothing I do stops the scrolling - I can move the scrollbar buttons, but they just go back to scrolling. All I can do is close the browser screen and start again. It doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be annoying. I have run a virus scan and checked everything I can think to check, but all seems fine. If anyone has any clues as to what the problem is, I'd be grateful to hear it. Is it a Firefox issue? Something else? Thanks.

Answer:Firefox browser automatically scrolling

I had that happen to me quite a few times. You have to wait for the page to completely load. If your scrolling down or have scrolled down before the page loads, when it does load, it will follow your command.

I wonder if anyone knows how to make auto-scrolling (particularly in browsers) smooth..ie. cut out the jerkiness.?

I have been using Opera for some time now, and it auto-scrolls just beautifully on my 98se. It makes browsing a real pleasure to be reading a page as it scrolls down slowly and silky smoothly.

I would like to be able to have the same degree of smoothness in Firebird(very jerky) and /or MyIE2 (less jerky, but still not usable to read while scrolling)
The reason for this is that I am now finding Opera so buggy, crashing so often that I want to get away from it, sadly I must say.

Any information on how to do this will be very gratefully received.

PcB.

Answer:how can I stop jerkiness in Browser auto-scrolling

If you are using smooth scrolling, the fix is to buy a faster processor. Smooth scrolling takes a lot of horsepower to so smoothly at any speed. I personally don't use smooth scrolling, I prefer to scroll by text rows, even with a fast processor.

Hi there, Im working with a Dell PC at work and my boss reformatted it yesterday. Since then the internet browser has a quite nausea inducing cascading/wave effect when you scroll up or down. Ive searched how to fix it and have tried to "smooth scroll" set it which hasnt made a difference regardless of whether it is ticked or not...Ive seen that sometimes its the video card but i would have thought that since the pc is reformatted that the original settings should mean that this doesnt happen? I could be very wrong... :DAny ideas?

Answer:Browser scrolling funnily..cascade effect

The problem us that you do not have the proper drivers for the video interface. You obtain these from the computer or video card manufacturer.Formatting a drive is a preliminary to a clean install of the OS. In such an install ALL data and settings on the partition are lost.

Greetings Honorable Geeks:major

As posted in recent weeks, had two destructive malware attacks which leveled me (Thank you TimW for helping me through) The one thing I noticed prior to the malware attacks - is a scrolling browser - so rapid difficult to even type - it is random- shuts down my emails as I type them, and close out any database I have open (work). It will shut down my emails as I type them. (actually just closed out this request for help).

Two weeks ago I finally got my system clean and reset up my system. All fine for a week - and now the rapid scrolling is starting again. I did observe a post in 2005 - that attributed this to a bad mouse - I can get a new mouse. Also the settings on my browser (pops up blocks) keeps turning the settings off. Yes I downloaded all I was suppose to. Have licensed copies of Avast and Mbam - showing no virus.

TimW (Hi TimW) that the Anti malware and anti virus did not protect emails/browser activity (I may have misunderstood). Is there any software I can download to run and or protect browser issues or threats? Thank you! Just trying to stay afloat Anyone else have this issue?

Respectfully
Snapper

Hey guys,

Today, I updated my video card drivers, but put off the restart until later. Now I restarted my machine, but i notice that the screen resolution seems to be a little off from what it says in control panel. (it's supposed to be 1280x1204 but it looks more like 800x600) Also, whenever I shift something on my desktop, or scroll down in a browser, a line runs up or down the screen and then the view shifts. I'm going to run a virus scan later, but I was wondering if it may have to do with the video drivers I installed earlier?

(Latest drivers as of April 2nd 2009(i think) for Nvidia Geforce 7600)

Thanks,

Alias50

Answer:Solved: Screen resolution wrong, wierd browser scrolling

As the problem has only been occuring since you installed the new drivers then yes it is highly likely. You can roll back your drivers by finding your graphics device in Device Manager > Right click and select properties > Select the driver tab then click 'Rollback Driver' any questions or problems let us know.

Hi,

I appear to be having trouble with my firefox browser.

My operating system is Windows 8.1. I have an Acer Aspire V3-772G which I bought some 18 months ago.

System details:

Processor: Intel® Core i7-4202MQ 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz
Installed Memory (RAM) 16.00 GB DDR3 L Memory
System  type: 64-bit Operating, x64- based processor

A few days ago my firefox browser, which for no apparent reason at all, just seemed to slow to a stupendously very slow loading of pages. I had recently just been working on an issue in which I posted a thread regarding whether there was a possible virus/malware after google chrome terminated with the following message from Hitman Pro Alert:

Attack Intercepted
'Google Chrome 49' has been terminated to prevent execution of malicious code. Please check your computer for malware and software updates

As it happened, it appeared to be because of a conflict somewhere in the Google Chrome, Trusteer Rapport and Hitman Pro Alert combination, and so the only way was to change the settings on Hitman Pro Alert as advised and shown in my thread:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/611273/possible-virus-or-malaware/

However, there was no malware or virus detected by my own Avast or Malwareware bytes tools, and the tools used as instructed in the thread also showed my system to have none. Also, google chrome works fine, and my computer has not slowed in any way. My fir... Read more

Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron 14. 2Gb Memory Core2Duo.

I can;t scroll Sideways but I can going up and down.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Dell Touchpad not scrolling Sideways. But scrolling Up & Down

On both my Acer aspire one netbook (synaptics) and my Lenovo notebook (alps) I need to tab twice on the lower edge of the touchpad (to gain its attention?!?) and then it will scroll. Beyond that I believe you need to take a walk on the Dell support web site. There are number of 14xx models so you need to follow the steps there to find the freshest driver for your particular model. On both of mine the newest drivers have given scrolling as well as "pinching" to re-size pages, photos etc.

When I operate the scroll bar, instead of a smooth scroll down or up the page, the scrolling occurs in jerks, making the page appear to "ripple". I am using windows XP. In addition, when I watch DVDs the crarity is not so good. It has only just started happening. Any ideas?

Does this happen to the entire screen or portions of the screen (like a horzontal line), or just with the scroll bars?

I recently updated/upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. The default mouse settings is to scroll using two fingers. I want to go back to using one finger to scroll on the right side of my mouse pad on my laptop. I have tried the settings for the mouse including the advanced settings. I clicked on device settings and then settings underneath that, which led me to a different window. When I clicked on the scrolling portion, it gave me pinch zoom and rotating.
All other forums have told me there should be a one finger scroll and two finger scroll tab under scrolling. I don't know if this is an option for 8.1, or if I am just not finding where I should be looking, but this is an issue for me.
Thank you!

Answer:How do I change my mouse settings from two touch scrolling to one touch scrolling?

Check your laptop manufacturers website for trackpad/touchpad drivers for Windows 10.
My Thinkpad in the Mouse Settings (advanced) has a section for the trackpad and I can set this so perhaps your drivers are not up to date for your device. I know a friend had to manually download those for his Dell to make that work like he wanted.

This morning, I decided to make the jump to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, and I have to say, the design looks simpler to use, but this new OS software has done something with my touchpad. Originally, on my Windows 8.1, I was able to scroll through whatever web pages or folders in my computer with one finger using my touchpad. With this new update, initially, I thought it broke my touchpad completely, but the problem has been narrowed down to having to now use two fingers to scroll in the most awkward way as this touchpad doesn't seemed to be designed for two finger scrolling. Is there a way for me to change this back? Would I have to revert back to Windows 8.1 to get my one finger scrolling back?

The laptop I am using is a Gateway NE56R34u, and the touchpad is an ELAN. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Answer:How to change from two-finger scrolling back to one-finger scrolling?

Would Gateway drivers for their touchpad be one area to explore ?

I was looking at a Logitech touchpad, and it appears their drivers are what controls the response/numbers of fingers/digits.

I noticed in the past few weeks that my browser gets redirected a few times a day when I enter a url or click on a link. It's usually some bogus "anti-spyware" site. I was recently infected by some virus that looked on the surface to be an anti-spyware program. I think I got rid of it all, but I am still having problems with IE getting redirected. I just ran Malwarebytes anti-malware and all showed up clean. I also use AVG and that didnt show anything. Here is my HJ this log.

Hello, B.C.

My english is not 100% perfect, so I apologize.

After looking at how many problems were solved here I wanted to show mine, since yesterday, while not browsing or playing a fullscreen game, my default browser randomly opens, if I am playing a game, it minimizes it which makes it unplayable. And when I am browsing, no matter what browser is, my current tab switch to the browser home page, for example, In opera my home page is the speed dial, while browsing on a website e.j. wikipedia or any other, it changes to the browser home page for no reason, and that happens in all browsers, no matter what the default one is.

I do believe this is caused by a malware. I scanned my computer with both avast! Free Antivirus and Windows Defender and found nothing. I deleted opera and made firefox my default browser, it randomly opened constantly as it did with opera. I restored my system to 04/12/12 and the problem was still present (I also rebooted many times), however, as I deleted opera when restoring my system it was still there as my default browser but, when whatever was causing the problem attempted to launch it, it popped up a window telling that the launcher file could not be run, and so that window popped up randomly and it was actually the same thing, as when I deleted the launcher file, it stopped popping up the window (and a browser, because I had no default browser). Question: Scrolling

Hey, I wonder if someone can help me.

I want to do something but I have no idea where to start.
Mouses have a scrolling function(up and down). Unfortunately I don't have a mouse on my netbook. I know there is a function to scroll with the touchpad but I would like to do something else.

I want to assign the scroll up function (and the scroll down) to a specific key on my keyboard. I know that the arrows can do that on websites for example but it is not the scroll up function of the mouse.

Is there a way to do this? Is there a registry value or something to help me do that?
In other words I want to be able to press a keyboard button which will use exactly the scroll function of the mouse.

Thanks in advance.

Question: Scrolling

Whenever there is a webpage, notepad, word file or other application where the option to scroll is given it periodically scrolls to the bottom of the page and remains there. If you manage to catch it during the scroll, a "fight" between the computer and the user occurs. When the bottom of the page has been reached, it must remain there some time before you can go back to work.

I have tried uninstalling the mouse suite and reinstalling the latest version. I have also tried uninstalling the mouse driver by itself. The mouse has been opened cleaned. Each to no avail. There are no keys depressed on the keyboard while this is happening, the scroll button (not a wheel) still works while the auto scroll is happening, and there are no mouse/keyboard emulators installed on the computer.

The mouse is a Lenovo Scroll Point, Computer is running Windows XP SP3, and updates automatically, there are no virus, malware, or spyware on the computer. The mouse is USB (the computer does not have PS/2 ports), this issue is about a week old and i cannot find reference to it using various search parameters in Google, MS, Yahoo or Ask.

This is the latest in a long line of extremely weird annoyances. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Question: Scrolling with XP

I have searched but have been unable to find how to cure my scrolling problem.(If their is a cure!)When scrolling either with the mouse wheel or using the scroll columns, it nearly always starts very slowly and then gathers great momentum with the result that overshoots of the intended item occur . However there are occasions when scrolling is "normal"There is never a smooth scoll, if not scroll, which I had using Me.Sorry if the answer is obvious but some of us "crumblies" need help.

Answer:Scrolling with XP

Try right clicking on the scroll bar and using the menu - if this is too limited go to your mouse's Properties and alter the configuration as necessary.Open Device Manager>Dduble-click Mice and other pointing devices>double-click on the name of the mouse to configure. On the Advanced Settings tab>Wheel Detection>click Look for Wheel.

Answer:scrolling

Hi Jackspratsr,

Is the text perhaps larger than normal? You could try holding down the CTRL-key while scrolling Down/up to your preferences until it fits in with your screen. Other than that some websites may be optimized for a certain resolution and/or browser, and might be presented "wrong" in your particular browser. If so, try another web browser.

Answer:win XP scrolling

Check to make sure that you have the most up to date and also the correct mouse drivers. I have that problem on one of my laptops; in IE, I can click the trackwheel and then move the mouse up/down/sideways, but I cannot do the same in Firefox unless I change my mouse drivers.

Please empty any Quarantine folder in your antivirus, empty your recycle bin and purge/delete all recovery items in the spybot program if you use it?BEFORE!!! running this tool.

Download this virus checker and tool from eScan Mwav.exe (Use Link 3)

1. Save it to a folder.
2. Reboot into safe mode
3. Double click the Mwav.exe file.(This is a stand alone tool and NOT just a virus checker......so it won't install anything)
4. Select all local drives, scan all files, press SCAN and when it is completed, anything found will be displayed in the lower pane.
5. In the Virus Log Information Pane (Bottom Window)
Left click and Highlight all the info in the Lower pane--- Use "CTRL C" on your Keyboard to copy all found in the lower pane and save it to a notepad file. DO NOT post the log from the ?View Log? button as that log does NOT contain the info we are after.

*Note* If prompted that a Virus was found and you need to purchase the product to remove the malware, just close out the prompt and let it continue scanning.

We are not going to use this to remove anything..but to ID the bad guys.

Once you copy that to a notepad file...highlight the text and copy it here along with a new hijackthis log.

Hello,
In Windows, every time you open a file it shows the first entry in that file. When I open a file, I want to see the last entry. Every time I click on a file, the first thing I have to do is scroll to the end. I find this not only counterintuitive but a real pain in the ***. Does anyone know of a way, either in Windows, IE-6, or by means of a program to reverse the scrolling so it goes to the end instead of the beginning of the file?

Hi folks  Since my first thinkpad (too many years ago it was a 760LD I have had problems with scrolling in certain programs as for instance Live Messenger and irc programs as KVirc. As I still do with the newest - a T400s... I believe it is in the windows driver for trackpoint and touchpad as the problem isn't there when running Linux. Nor is it there if you use Remote Desktop in windows. This way you can use a thinkpad to control another thinkpad and then you can scroll in those programs...   But I have seen it work on other laptops - so why not with a Thinkpad too? Otherwise I am very pleased with the Thinkpads and I think the T400s feels like something that may have had IBM stamped on it too... so it is going to replace my trusted T41 that has traveled most of the world and never missed a beat so: Thank you Lenovo - keep up the good work - and please solve above at a for you  comvenient time  Best regards from Denmark Tina

Answer:Scrolling

Hi, Try the following. First, download the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71984.exe Turn off your wireless card ( should be f12 ). Open windows control panel, open Programs and Features, right click the current Synaptics driver and select Uninstall. When complete, restart the notebook. When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder and run the Synaptics installer - when this has completed, restart the notebook again. Open the Synaptics settings panel, enable the scrolling settings you require and then check if this works Ok. If it does, turn your wireless card back on and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 from automatically updating the Synaptics driver. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/3073930 Regards, DP-K

Question: scrolling

I am not sure this is the right section to post this, but thought I'd try.

In IE5.5 and Win2k, when I am on the internet and scroll up/down the page it doesn't scroll smoothly. Though you are physically scrolling smoothly (wheel or scroll bar), the screen resembles hitting the page up/down key. You see a line scroll down the width of the screen, as the page changes. The only thing that I could find in Internet Options-Advanced was a check box for smooth scrolling, which was already checked. Unchecking it, for he sake of trying, did nothing. It is a relatively new pc (3 or 4 months (Dell OptiplexGX240) We added a Radeon 8500LE video card.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Answer:scrolling

Go to the mouse setup. On mine it's under Motion, for scrolling you can choose 3lines 6lines or screen. Sounds like yours is set for screen, I use 3 lines.
If that don't fix it, Open IE, click Tools > Internet Options and see if smooth scrolling is checked.

uugghh doesnt happen all the time but happens way too often. my vertical scroll bar moves down on its own. I move it back to the top and it goes back down. Sometimes it changes my page while I am typing.

HELP
thanks

Answer:my PC is scrolling on its own

I have seen behaviour like this with conflicting /outdated software.You will have to troubleshoot this by first;
Checking for updates. Try searches at Manufacturers site for your hardware, etc.
Try turning off programs running in the background.
Turn off screen savers.
See if you can re-create the symptoms . If you can create the symptoms then one of the things you did is causing a conflict.

Question: Scrolling

I am using a desktop ASUS computer, XP/SP2/80 Gb HDD/1Gb RAM.AVGprofessional antivirus,/Ad-Adware/Spybot.I have a problem with scrolling.Instead of a smooth seamless scrolling of the mouse, or arrow keys, i suddenly seem to have a 'stuttered' jerky movement. It is almost as if it is refreshing the screen with each movement of a line in either direction. How do i get my smooth scroll back???  Please HELP!!!! Thank you in advance,Jean-Pierre.-

Answer:Scrolling

Which programs is it doing this in?Some programs do not support smooth scrolling. Also, Smooth Scrolling isnt always so easily found on traditional scroll mouses, most trackpads support smooth scrolling, as well as when you press down the scroll button and see the scroll arrows on your screen.

For the last couple of days, scrolling in threads has been very slow and jerky in Windows 7.It's OK on other sites and OK if I boot into Windows.I've disabled Link Scanner in AVG in case that was the cause, but it wasn't.Anyone else affected?

Answer:Scrolling in PCA

That should read 'OK if I boot into Vista'.No-one else having this problem? It's still happening to me.

Okay, straight to business. Just got WinXP sp3 and i have fixed most problems already. Anyhow, I got this fairly troublesome fail I cant find solution. Scrolling lag. IE, Firefox and opera are scrolling extremely slowly. Like its refreshing the page every time i scroll just an inch. Also dragging windows at the deskto is laggy. Yeah, you propably have heard this before, and so have I, also in this forum. I updated my drivers and scrolling worked again, presto! BUT. Here comes the twist. Whenever I start browsing, after I do a little something, everything disappears for a second, and then its all "created" back (notice created, the screen is not just going off). Then ATI gives some error report "VPU is not responding to commands" or something...and then the scroll lag is back! Until the next system restart, that is...its pretty annoying, as I cant browse the internet effectively, so ANY ideas are welcome, please help me ^^

Answer:Something more than just a scrolling lag?

not just lag, if ati gives you an error, it's either ur video card or video card drivers, try doing a system restore back to sp2 and see if it still gives u that problem

Question: FF3 tab scrolling

I just updating to ff3, and its great and all but theres somethin thats buggin me about the tab scrolling, I havent found anything about fixing it.

The bar with all the tabs on it scrolls more more then it did on ff2, but for some reason its also scrolling up and down a tiny bit, like when I scroll to the left, before scrolling left it moves down, then to the right it scrolls up before going right. So basicaly I was wondering if anyone had some info on how I could change it form going up and down, but also is there a way to change it so it doesn't scroll so much? Like in ff2 when scrolling it would go over 1 tab at a time for each click of the wheel mouse.

Here's a pic of it.

I tried changing some increment thing I found but it didn't change anything.

Answer:FF3 tab scrolling

I haven't had such issues at all on all the clients I've deployed it on. Such issues are usually theme incompatibilities, so you should disable your theme to using the default one and try to see if it still persists.

Question: Scrolling

how to scroll up/down a page when:  a) the relevant arrows are missing                                                            b) the Page Up  /  Page Down tabs are missing                                                            c) using the spacebar  scrolls   the pages too fast or not at all.

Answer:Scrolling

Arrow keys for up/down should work if its scrollable unless you have a broken keyboard so that the arrow keys are no longer functional. I use my arrow keys a lot on my netbook for scrolling vs the touch pad. If this is a laptop with a messed up keyboard so you dont have functioning arrow keys and page-up/down keys, you can attach a USB keyboard to it until you can replace the damaged laptop keyboard with disfunctional keys.

Question: scrolling

Hello all, i just bought a thinkpad sl300. I'm happy with it, but i got one huge problem. When i scroll, the page doesn't scroll (move) 'fluently', but it 'overlays' when i scroll down or up.I'm not sure how to describe this..When i scroll, the page doesn't move with the scrollingbar on the right side, but the pages overlap. It's really disturbing, cause i can't read the page while scrolling... and it's really hard to look at it without getting dizzy.Does someone knows my problem and more important, can someone help me fix this????Thank you! btw sometimes (but rarely) it does scroll normally...(!)

Answer:scrolling

Just a suggestion. If you are scrolling in an internet browser, try using the smooth scroll option in the mouse options.

Question: SMOOTH SCROLLING

HIAMD K71100 RUNNING IE6 IN THE INTERNET ADVANCED SETTINGS IF I HAVE ALLOW SMOOTH SCROLLING TICKED THE PAGE SCROLLS ERATICALLY. IF I UNTICK THE PAGE SCROLLS SMOOTHLY! HAVING BOTHER WITH SLOW INTERNET ON THIS COMPUTER; COULD THIS BE A POINTER.HAVE RUN IE ERADICATOR AND TRIED INSTALLING BOTH IE55 AND 6 FROM DIFFERENT DISKS TO NO AVAIL.ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.REGARDSJAMES

Answer:SMOOTH SCROLLING

Again, it sounds like drivers. Make sure the motherboard drivers are installed and up-to-date - espcially if it's a Via chipset board - and make sure you have the latest drivers for the graphics.Slow scrolling is almost always down to a system that can't cope with the load - your basic specs should be more than adequate, but drivers and other applications/viruses/Anti-Viruses/etc can slow things down.
