IE Page cannot load, Operation Aborted

Question: IE Page cannot load, Operation Aborted

This is driving me crazy. In IE when I go to some sites the site pulls up and then I get this error message that states:

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site "the site goes here"

Operation Aborted"

I can go back an keep refreshing the site and it will load with no problem, but it is very frustrating. I am also having an issue with my hompage changing for no reason. I have ran the hijack this, and here are the results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Preferred Solution: IE Page cannot load, Operation Aborted

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: IE Page cannot load, Operation Aborted

Click on the link below and it will download CWShredder. Close all browser windows. UnZip it and click on the cwshredder.exe and let it do it's thing.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/.../CWShredder.exe

When it is finished restart your computer.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by any of these that are left. Close all browser windows and "Fix checked"

Hello,

When I try to navigate to certain sites I receive the following error "Internet Explorer cannot display the page - operation aborted". Additionally, my start menu no longer populates with recently used programs. I believe both problems are a result of contracting an xp anti-spy 2011 virus, which I was able to remove but these problems still linger. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:Internet Explorer 8 cannot display page - operation aborted

An example of websites that you cannot navigate to...as well as examples of those you can navigate to, please.

Can you go to www.microsoft.com? Windows Update?

Question: Operation Aborted

I was wondering why sometimes I try to go into a website and it says "Internet Explorer cant open the website-Operation Aborted". This happens sometimes and it never happened before.

Answer:Operation Aborted

What have you done recently to your PC?Can you use another browser? You can go to www.mywot.com and check to see if the web site you want is a bad site.Don't go to bad sites. They really can mess with your PC in a bad way. If that was the problem, be glad you found out.But if  that is not the problem, come back here with a list of good sites you can not enter, and let others check them out.

Every couple of, or every webpage, I get an error stating the exact website I am trying to access is being aborted. Internet Explorer cannot open the site [site name]. Operation Aborted. The website will still open and the only thing I notice is that the ad's on the site don't show. They will display the Internet Explorer Error. What is the cause of this and is there a way I can fix it?

We have a Toshiba P200 laptop and have been connecting it wirelessly to a computer in another room for the internet. The laptop runs Vista Home Premium. Most websites work fine, but some it seems to have a real problem with. I keep getting "Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site -such and such - operation aborted." But I can see the page I want behind the error message so it's loaded most of the page. Clicking OK takes me to the cannot display page where no connetion problems can be found. I checked that SSL and TLS (whatever they are) are enabled as suggested. Is it my browser or my security settings messing things up? It's very annoying to see the page you want behind the error message, then when you click on it you're whisked away to the "cannot display" page. Any ideas?

Answer:Operation keeps getting aborted

A bit more info. The website I'm having problems with at the moment is supposed to allow you to put widgets onto your blog, so it may well be a security issue?

Starting a new focused thread on a problem I have been having while on the internet. At random times while navigating using links from the page I am reading, I get "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site (the site I am trying to link to). Operation aborted." When this happens, sometimes I can click out of that box, go back or refresh and it picks up the page I was trying to get to. Sometimes I get the standard "Unable to connect" screen and have to close IE and start over, but not often. This happens on any type of site, youtube, speedtv and even here while switching forums. I have been helped greatly here by Billy3 and have a clean system as far as any malware is concerened. I have other issues as well but thought I would start over with this as it annoys all who use this computer( 2 people) while the other issues only bug me! Thanks.

Question: OPeration aborted

Recieved a reformatted computer with internet explorer. Normally the person said that when they reformated it, it works fine. I turned on the internet after seting up internet explorer and quickly closed it without paying attention (After clicking not to personalize a toobar or putting that I would install flash later). Suddenly aol.com went off with a pop up saying aportation aborted and it went to can not display webpage. Put it on a few times same thing but then suddenly it went on normally. (I then googled fore firefox download) Should I be worried or was this a scripting glitch in internet explorer. It never happened before.

Quite often I get the following popup window: "Operation aborted"
A white "X" on red circle with "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www. etc............./ Operation aborted." Usually am able to click OK and the site remains with maybe an ad not fully loaded but today after clicking on OK, the site closed and went to:
Inernet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I tried many times...same result. As an experiment, I pasted the URL into "Chrome" and no problem.
System: Acer Aspire Desktop less than a year old, Vista OS,
Any advice?

Answer:Operation aborted popup

Hello ger32,

Could be corrupted IE. Try reinstalling it, that would fix and registry errors. You could also try IE8 beta.

There is a site that when I try to access it says internet explorer cannot open the site (url). Operation aborted.

The page seems to load fine and then the popup comes up displaying that and after pressing OK on the error popup it displays error cannot find page (as if im not connected to the net at all or a dead url). The site works on other computers in my house, so Im very confused about the problem.

Any ideas on what the problem is here? and more importantly how to fix it?

Hello all,

Love the site - Noviciate helped me out with a rootkit virus on another sub-board, and everything is working fine in that respect. However, lately, I've been having an "Operation Aborted" popup in IE8, running Windows XP SP3. I recall this problem happening randomly since before the rootkit problem, but really noticed an increase in frequency starting yesterday - I've removed temp. internet files, restored IE8 defaults, but those didn't work. Even this site causes the error. Firefox works, but I'd like IE8 working as well. Any help will be appreciated - this is a great site!

I have been getting this error on another site, and ONLY that site:
View attachment 119269

(this is a zip file)

I open the page, log in, and when the page is almost 99% loaded, I get that error, and then the page is closed. Now, no problem with the other web pages, they stay open, and I can continue with no problem.. Only this one site, I am having difficulties, and I have contacted the site admin., but no answers yet... I think myself, it is a site problem, and not my system, but thought to run it by you anyway.... It only happens on that one, and if the browser itself closed, I'd be more concerned, but it is only that one page.... Any thoughts? :confused

Now, I am using windows XP IE7 and SP3.. All updates are up to date...
I run my trend Micro every day, it is updated every day, and nothing has been found.. System is clean...

PS: I do my computer maintenance regularly.

Answer:Weird error - Operation aborted...

Clear your cookies. It seems that there is only a problem at that site when you try and login. It could be a corrupt cookie for that site only. Since I'm not a member, I can't login to test if it is the site.

Thank you in advance...

First my notes, then my log.

The odd behavior I?m attempting to repair
(Note: I always want more speed, I don?t want extra stuff on my toolbars, I disable several apps from starting with MSCONFIG)

After searching for a site with Google, after the results are displayed and before any result is followed, the error message appears: Internet Explorer can not open the internet site http://xyxyxyxyxy. Operation aborted. On closing the error box, a 404 page is displayed. Sites searched for (search terms) ?waiora? and ?America west airlines?

Am running Win XP, SP2. Norton AV, MS Anti-spyware, on a Sony Vaio laptop (1.8 GHz/512 RAM)
Prior to posting my log, I updated and ran?(and rebooted after each)
Norton AV (last system scan 9/13)
AdAware SE personal (custom mode as recommended) (I did not quarantine MRU objects)
Critical Updates for Windows and IE
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
MS Anti-Spyware (Beta 1)
Trend Micro?s Housecall
Latest version of HJT

I used KRC HijackThis Analyzer program to fix up the log

Things I?ve noticed and don?t know if they are relevant/important

1) I'd like to get rid of the "you bet" entries...it's an online horse racing forum I no longer use

2) MS Anti-Spyware (Beta 1):

I've got an HP 1350 scanner/printer. Suddenly my printer stopped working. When i tried to reinstall the software and printer, i received this message..."The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or application request" I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help me..its really frustrating. I'm not sure what to do.

Answer:The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or application req

try uninstalling the software before reinstalling it. it sounds like there is some program running in the background that is interfering with your printing software. if you want to be safe, i would uninstall in safe mode.

Okay I have a user that used to have an HP 5600 series USB printer. This was giving her problems (on both a parallel port and on a USB port). So she went out and bought a HP 6127. Now I have installed printer drivers 100's of times over without a problem (especially when its from a CD supplied with the printer). This time I followed the instructions and I get to pick the drivers and it starts to copy the files and it goes ot the following error.

Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware
HPDeskjet 6127
An Error Occured During the Installation of this device.
The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.

I have done google searches and checked the HP website an found nothing. I know the USB portion is working fine because i have a USB mouse in one port and have even swapped it to make sure its not the port. As well I uninstalled and reinstalled the USB printing service from the Device manager with no change in the error. There are no other local printers but a bunch of network printers none of them on local ports. This 6127 does not have any parrallel connection so I can't even change it to see if its a bad port on the printer side.

Any other ideas?

I recently installed the Action Replay Code Manager onto my Windows XP via installation directly from the disc. Later, when I plugged my Action Replay Ds usb link into my computer, there was a yellow exclamation mark next to the hardware in the device manager. The error message turned out to be: "The drivers for this device are not installed". I inserted the installation CD and it began to install the drivers when the message in the question above popped up, cancelling the installation. I have tried everything from reinstalling the cd and cable to deleting my Temp directory and disabling many of my antivirus programs during the process. Nothing seems to work. I would truly benefit from a website pointing me to the right path or preferably help from someone right here on the forums!

I know I have a virus again Or have NOT fully rid myself of one I thought I had eliminated weeks ago. I noticed that I was having trouble accessing some web sites when I was logged on as ME. It appeared to be shut me out alphbetically. As I could not access Burchperch.blogspot.com and then Calendars.com. I AM able to function if I log on as the administrator but I am worried that this thing will disable this "side" as well. A friend suggested that something has wormed itself into my Registry... I am not savvy enough to know what to do about that. He said to run The Non Pro version of Glary Utilities or The Online Safety Scanner. I am did run Glary and it found 506 errors but one has to BUY their product to completely rid myself of the errors. ALSO I have Secunia installed and it continues to warn me that I have programs that are insecure or at end-of life, but when I click on "Solution", it will not connect so I do not know what to do to correct the problems. .... so here I am again. HELP! PLEASE!

Today I went on one of the sites that I regularly go onto, but the site kept saying 'internet explorer cannot connect to the site, operation aborted' very often whenever I tried to load a different page. It mainly seemed to be happening on one page in particular and all the other sites I go onto were alright so I assumed it was just the site.

However, another site I usually go onto just had the same error a couple of minutes ago and I am not starting to get a bit worried that there may be something wrong with IE or my computer. The problem still mainly seems to be happening on that one site in particular and the error only occurred once on the other site and I have loaded quite a lot of pages on that site very recently.

Basically I just want to ask, has anyone else been having problems with IE saying this error message recently? And if not, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my issue? If it helps, the site that I was having problems with was Serebii.net

Answer:[SOLVED] IE cannot connect to site, operation aborted problems

I too am having difficulty. This started with me yesterday on one of my quilting forums. My DD in Denver can access them so it isn't that the site isn't up and running.

I would like to update my internet explorer as well as my vista system but i donot have enough hard disk space to accomodate vista updates which are needed for internet explorer upgrades. I did try to upgrade to internet explorer 8 but i got the message that my system doesnot support this upgrade.

The reason i wanted the upgrade is that i have for the past 6 months tried to log into facebook.com but when i enter my details a message pops up everytime stating

"internet explorer cannot open the internet site
http://www.facebook.com/
operation aborted."

This has happened multiple times when i tried to access www.facebook.com and www.amazon.co.uk to name a few.
Also frequently internet explorer crashes when i am visiting sites like www.yahoo.com and when logging into my yahoo mail account. Then i have to open task manager, end program and i have clicked on find solution online with no answer and that my problem has been reported to microsoft. There has been no feedback or support from microsoft.

So now i choose close this program and use firefox to browse.

In summary, i cannot install all the updates e.g SP 1 for vista so can you provide me with links to individual updates that are necessary for internet explorer upgrade.

I stupidly aborted an Acronis restore, now windows will not load. The screen stays in DOS and askes for a boot floppy. I have tried booting with the Acronis disc but this does not show my USB drive in options.Windows repair has also failed with an error message of invalid drive path.Is a clean install my only option and, will I be able to reload Acronis and access my images afterwards. Many thanks

Answer:Aborted Acronis restore XP won't load

If you have Acronis CD you should be able to boot with that, then restore the Image you aborted. If the Image is on a CD you will have to change the CD's over after Acronis As loaded into Memory. That's why I only run Acronis from a Rescue CD that I created in Acronis I then boot with the CD and restore ether from another Partition or USB external Drive. Do's the above give you any Ideas?

Hi everyone,

For the last few months I have been getting BSOD's with increasing regularity.
After attempting to flash my bios, reinstall drivers and running a memtest I have decided to come to you guys before going for a clean install.

The BSOD's occur seemingly randomly however, it seems they are more common when I am doing something simple like browsing the web or listening to music and less likely while gaming.

I have a Toshiba Qosimo x505 bought new in 2010 (my first issue I know) specs being:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core i7 Q740
Nvidia GeForce GTS 360M
4 GB Ram
64 GB SSD
500 GB HDD

I have attached the files from the SF tool, if there is any other information you would like I will attempt to find and provide it for you.

Thanks for the help,

Icedsidewalk

I changed BIOS and tried to boot from CD but got message "can't find .ini file". Do I need to purchase sledge hammer???

Greetings gurus. Internet trouble. As the title says, my mail will not load in any browser. Page load is very slow and most things time out at least once. AT&T ran line tests on DSL and everything was clean. Not sure how this could be. Speedtest was run many times and no probs. I even did some gaming which strains everything with no problems. I'm open to the possibility of a virus. Ran Avira and MBAM but haven't gone further. Strangely the wife's Facebook games are a no-go. Also, wireless devices work fine. Heeeeelp!

Upon starting Juno, we get this error message, showing an illegal operation and invalid page fault error with the following details:

The system is Windows 98 second edition.

We've re-installed the Juno program without success. The page fault occurs only when signing in to one specific account (other juno account using same program on same computer signs in and starts juno without errors.)

An earlier fault referenced the kernel32.dll (rather than the dll listed above.)

We are attempting fixes from the juno website (changing system performance settings) but so far without success.

I have a very simple web page that automatically updates daily. However, very often when I view it I just get the version that is in my browser cache rather than the latest version from the web. I have to do a manual refresh from the browser to see the latest version. Not a problem for me, but other viewers of the page may not realize they aren't seeing the latest information.

Is there an HTML tag or some such that can be included in the page that will force a refresh and override any old version that the viewer may still have in their browser cache?

Hi there.
I recently had a trojan dnschanger on my laptop. I tried using malwarebytes program to remove it several times and then gave up and sent it in to get repaired at a shop in town. They told me there was no infection and sent it back to me. I reran the test and sure enough it was gone. but...

What had originally made me try using malwarebytes to scan ( avg, spybot s&d, and adaware did not find anything) was that my browser was acting strange. When I do a Google search and click on one of the results, it will load a blank page saying 'done' in the bottom corner, then after 5 seconds or so it will then load the page i wanted.

For instance, I click on "hxxp://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank" search result and it puts this:

"hxxp://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&ved=0CAcQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.kioskea.net%2Fforum%2Faffich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank&rct=j&q=browser+loads+blank+page+then+&ei=W6JzS6q_G8PgnAec2vmyCQ&usg=AFQjCNHiczGbtPYRraVBQ_7hGcgLE2f6LQ&as_acct=9dm612l7ldg&cr=s6ar6l7"

into the top bar and sits on the blank,'done' page for 5 or 10 secs then goes to the "hxxp://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank" page after.

It is driving me crazy. This is doing it in firefox 3.5.7 and also in ie 8.0.7600.16385 - (i rarely use ie)

I keep getting the error message "IMAPP performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." Under "details" it says "IMAPP caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 000: " then lots of numbers. This error message appears after starting IncrediMail e-mail software. This program worked fine until I installed Spam Inspector after which it started with this error message every time. I have uninstalled Spam Inspector and wiped every trace of it from registry. I have reinstalled the latest version of IncrediMail but I still get this error message when starting IncrediMail. Tech support at IncrediMail have hit a dead end and don't know what to do other than tell me to reinstall Windows which seems a little drastic to me.
I really need my email program back working soon. Thank you for your help.

Answer:IMAPP performed illegal operation & will be shut down. Invalid page fault in module

Try this You ´ll have to uninstall incredimail.

(If you dont want to loose your messages, before uninstall it go to C: Program files/Incredimail/Data/Identities
and copy all the folders and paste it in the desktop.)

After uninstall it go to "Windows", and then to "Prefetch", and delete all you see with the name "Incredimail".
Then reinstall the program

(To recover your old messages and addressbook copy the folders you pasted in the desktop and paste it in
C/Programs files/Incredimail/Data/Identities
and replace the folders there, with your old folders.)

wrt54gs ip page did not load when I type ip address, but modem page load instead.

Answer:ip main page did not load, but load moderm pag

Sounds like your Modem is on that IP address and your Router is on another. I thought LinkSys routers used 192.168.1.1 out of the box and most DSL modems used 192.168.1.254 and Cable modems used 192.168.100.1. Which address are you using? What kind of Modem do you have (Model Number and if it is DSL or Cable)?

Hello,
I am currently having trouble with my Windows Vista home Premium 32-bit computer. I am using a NETGEAR Wireless USB adapter for my internet and a few thing's have seemed to go wrong.

First of all, the Network logo that normaly appears in the task bar has gone missing. When you right click>Properties and then try to tick Network, the grey tick box has been locked, so you can not select it.

Secondly, When I go to Network and Sharing center it come's up The Page Failed To Load.

Also, sometime's when I log onto Vista it come's up C:\Windows\system32\WINBRAND.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contain's an error. I don't know if this is linked in some how.

I have no internet access on that computer, and that is the only computer I am able to use at my home so it is very annoying that I ahve not been able to find a fix for this some where.

I am alright with computer's but not to good with complicated stuff. But anything for a fix

I hope someone could help me out with this problem,
Mackenzie.

Hopefully someone can help me on this and won't have bad news. Ok so i have a 500gb Seagate SATA hard drive. For some reason when vista is loading it takes forever. it used to load after around 3 seconds. This has happened before and i cleaned the Nforce drivers and re-installed and the issue went away and havent had a problem till the other day the system hung up while playing crysis and upon re-boot the hard drive started the long load times. But when in vista or doing anything after the system is loaded is fine and i have no issues. I have tried uninstalling drivers using driver sweeper ect and then re-installing drivers with no luck. Has anyone had this issue before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Long Vista Load Times normal operation in vista

Well I have to say my Vista load time is also slower than I would like.

Just posting to keep updated!

Hope someone has an answer!

Vista is still fast once it finishes loading the taskbar, the icons on the right etc, but until then slow slow slow. Takes about 1min 20 seconds to do a computer start up...

Question: Won't load a page.

In fact, it won't even recognize that there's material on the page to load. It's very strange. I need to log into a certain website for my housing application for university (it's a ".jsp"), and after I enter the information I just get a pure blank mozilla screen. Very strange. I tried with IE 7 and have the same problem. I tried fiddling around with the security levels on each but that did nothing.

I doubt there truly is nothing on the university website... what do you think the problem is?

Answer:Won't load a page.

Check all your security software, browser addons, firewall settings, etc to see which one is blocking javascripts, java or scripts (the wording might be different depending on the program).

For example, I use the NoScript addon for Firefox. With it enabled, all scripts are blocked so a .jsp site would appear blank. When I disable NoScript, the page loads as normal.

Question: load up page

srry know that this pob dosnt go here but maybe ill get a respnce quicker

is there any way to make a new page load as soon as i make a page load kinda like a popup(im not making a pop up) ?

example: i load www.bunch-o-stuff.com then another page loads over that without the viewer clicking anything

Answer:load up page

A window which loads soon after another and in front of it is called a "popup". Not all popups are bad. In fact, the problem with most popup stoppers is that it kills the good ones, too.

Make a popup window yourself here and then see an example of the script:

Here's another:

Answer:can't load web page

This issue may occur because of some "add ons" are any application which are running in background. However good news is that we can still resolve this issue. Please try doing the following steps which may help you1. Cloose all applications 2. Close / disable startup applications (such as skype, messenger, or any background application) 3. Start/Settings/Control Panel/Internet Options/Delete Browsing History/Delete All (in passwords) 4. Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons (check) and click ok 5. Close all windows, and files, (just in case) nothing has to be open 6. Go to Start/run 7. Type in the open: %temp% 8. Press enter 9. Start deleting the temp files 10. You might not be able to delete some of the files, because ther are in use. Leave them alone. 11. When you get the error: Error Deleting file or folder click ok and continue deleting some of the files by type 12. When you are done. Reboot the computer 13. Now try to open the websites that you were unable to openPlease do reply the result at your convinience.Thank you :)

hi there, i hope someone can help me, i recently purchased a advent 4211 net book for work , as i am a plumber i need to get onto a certain web site called - www.partscenter.co.uk no problems on my desk top comes up straight away, but not on my 4211 the green status bar fills up to the end and then just stays there 4ever !!! i have set my security to (low) enabled firewall and deleted all my cookies, i am using a 3g pay as u go dongle, someone mentioned i should enable cookies but i cant find this, can anyone help as this is driving me mad.
ps all other web sites load up straight away. many thanks

Answer:cannot get a certain web page to load !!!

Hi,

If cookies being disabled is the problem, you should be getting a blank page with some very small writing stating this from that website: "Welcome to the Partscenter Web site.
We have detected that cookies are disabled on your browser.
Please enable them and reload the page, or the site will not function correctly".

Anyway, to enable cookies, this is how:

From internet explorer: Tools > Internet Options. Within the Internet Options window: Privacy tab > Select a setting for the internet zone > set privacy level to Medium. Failing that, for test reasons, lower the slider right to the bottom to 'accept all cookies'.

Whether it works or not, please post results on here.

I have a web page that I have opened many times in the past but now it will momentarily open then disappear. I have tried changing the IE settings, and shutting off the AV and other securities but so far no luck. I would appreciate suggestions.

Answer:Web page won't load

Does anything show in the task bar at all? Sometimes they get minimized and you have to right click on it and then click on maximize.

Other than that, my second thought would be viral. If you'd like to check out that aspect, then please do this. Click here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html to download Hijack This.

It’s very important that you save it to its own folder on your hard drive, such as program files (not temporary files or the desktop), so that it can create proper back-ups and be able to restore them if necessary.

Close all open windows and open Hijack This. Click “Scan”. When the scan is finished (it only takes a second), the scan button will change to “Save Log”. Click on “Save Log” and then save it to NotePad. Click on “Edit” – “Select all” – “copy” and then “paste” into the thread.

DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET, most items that appear in the log are harmless or even needed.

I have an (older) internet pen pal with dialup. She runs IE 7 on a Win 7 Home Premium system. (OIK...I'll send her an IE 8 CD)

Meantime, there are certain pages she just can't open - for instance:

Learn where menu and toolbar commands are in Office 2010 and related products - Support - Microsoft Office

She can't tell me any reason - like error messages - only that they won't display. (She's not very tech savvy)

I was assuming that it would not be security setting, being an MS page and all, but I don't know enough about this stuff.

Anyone else know?

thanks!

Answer:IE 7 won't load MS.com page

IE8 comes automatically with Windows 7, unless she bought the OS recently in Europe, where this is forbidden by European Union. Nevertheless, I fail to see why she would use IE7...
If she really uses Win7, and really wants to use IE, point her towards BeautyOfTheWeb so she can download Ie9 RC.

So. I checked my hosts file.. nothing there.
tried pinging via cmd, can't ping.
tried loading the site by IP, doesn't load.

Seems to just be me... what else could I do to resolve this?

Page gets found then doesnt load in Firefox
IE7 redirects to google search "dvd.co.uk"

Any network issues that cause this?????

Answer:Cant load page..

Sorry but i don't think this is a browser issue, it may be a setup issue, i'm running firefox and i can view the page fine...
I'm assuming with you it says "waiting for..." for ages?
What OS are you running and what is your ISP?

Also do you have anything installed that would modify your hosts-file? e.g. Spybot S&D
I don't know what would be causing this but post back and maybe we can sort it...

I am trying to remove a program, when I go to add/remove page, I get the usual message, "Wait for screen to populate". This has taken up to 15 minutes and still nothing.

Answer:page won't load

There may be some program causing the problem. As a temporary workaround try Add-Remove Pro (it's free). I use it all the time in place of the built in Windows tool, which takes too long to load the rather useless information that comes with each item in the list.

Hi all. I hope you can help.

PROBLEM: We have to use the following website (

for registration of devices. That link will load, but when we click on
Go to online registration / test reporting, the page continuously tries to load but never does. The loading finally fails after a few minutes with a generic error message (see below). The computer normally used for this is a Windows 7 HP Omni 220 PC. I'm using Kaspersky Pure 3.0. The site had worked up until a few weeks ago, although I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working.

INITIAL TROUBLESHOOTING: I cleared the cookies, enabled cookies and JavaScript. I tried using Firefox 20.0.1 and Internet Explorer 9.0.15. When I ran the Windows Network Diagnostics tool, "Troubleshooting couldn't identify problem." Problem has continued to happen over a couple weeks. It's not the site, because I can open the page on my Macbook Air/Safari. We called the owner of the site, but they offered no help.

Running IE 5.01 with WIN98se

Our website has a page which will not load all the way on our computer only:
www.cheapst.com
then click on nav bar or on the image at the bottom of this page to go to 20th Century First Editions.

Or type in "www.cheapst.com/twenty.html"

What happens is that the listings will load only to a point, then quit. The rest of the page won't come up. I have tried repairing
IE, I have tried deleting all the history, temp files, cookies, etc.
Still no luck.

I've also tried putting up fresh copies of the page. Since others tell me the page is loading okay (the "ZELAZNY, Roger" should be the last entry), it almost certainly is my IE. Yes?

Any suggestions?

I came across a website that has been giving me a lot of problems. I had to register for the site and I can login and get to the homepage, but I cannot click a single link without it hanging up. I cannot even reload the homepage after this happens. I have found that if I delete the cookies from that site, I can reload the login screen and sign back in, but it acts the same as before. I am using Firefox, and when I try it in IE, the homepage won't even load.

I went to the library at school and loaded the page fine, so it isn't the website. I was even using the U3 Firefox browser on my flash drive in the computer at school when it worked, and that same U3 browser won't work at home.

I am set up on a wireless connection through a Linksys router, and what I have read that may be a source of the problem. I have tried disabling the firewall on the router but that didn't work. This is the only website I have ever had trouble with so I really have no idea what to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh

I did some further investigating and found that if I set my cookie option to "ask me every time" and accept all cookies when I log in except for the PHPSESSID cookie, and keep denying it, the site works fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to why that cookie doesn't sit well with my browser? This cookie is in the parent cookie folder for the site, so is there any way to block only that "sub-cookie"?

I am looking at purchasing a PVR here in Oz and for post purchase support I need to access the companies web page http://www.itopfield.com.au/

Each time I try to access it I have dramas and it wont fully load. It seems to hang with "25 items remaining - waiting for itopfield.com.au" or similar in the botton LHS tool bar.

It seems to be all the pictures on the page that wont download.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and IE7.

I'm only on a 56k dial-up connection, could that be the problem? Could this site just be too much for dial-up to handle? Seems weird when every other site I go to works fine.

Is there some way for some guru to tell me why this site in particular is causing me dramas?

I've contacted their email support and they say they are having no problems with their website. Other users on broadband are having no worries either.

Maybe I have to get broadband for this site?

Question: Can't load page?

Hi guys, i'm having a problem in my firefox (it happens in IE too) that makes me not wiew the page as it should.
As a example: I write a new thread in whatever forum and i'm waiting for it to post it. Then, the whole page become white.
Another example of this is when i play my facebook games (Yes, it's easy to get addicted) and where the game were supposed to be, it's blank.
It doesn't load. I tried in IE too, and the samme happens, just that you see the classic "Internet Explorer cannot View the page".
I only use firefox, if it isn't anything wrong with it.

So, any answers to this? Some settings to be made? Or is it my internet provider?

This is getting on my nerves. There's a site (http://strategy.diabloii.net/) that I am unable to go to. I can't go to it nor any subsites under it. I can, however, go to http://diabloii.net. When I first go to it (using favorites) it says "Action Cancelled". When I hit reload it says "The page cannot be displayed". I know the site is up, everyone else I know can go to it.

I'm using Avant Browser, I've tried turning off ad blocker and popup blocker. I've even added the site to the allow list. I've looked at the Host file it doesn't seem to be redirecting it to the localhost. I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I tried IE and it doesn't show up on there either. Please help. I've been working with the hard drive forum after my older Gateway computer crashed, and they've helped me install the drive, re-load the software, add SpyBot, etc. but now I have a problem with IE 6.0, where I can't get www.excite.com to open so I can check my email. I've been able to get other sites to come up, however, when I type in the address and hit go nothing happens (other than the text highlights in blue). I checked under Privacy and cookie handling and excite.com was listed. I checked allow (didn't help), and then deleted it (still didn't help). I tried lowering security to low (didn't work). Is there something else I should do? When I went out to the Microsoft web site, I saw that there is a IE 6.0 sp1 available which I haven't downloaded yet, but I'm not sure that it will help, since I can get other web sites to open. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated!

Answer:IE 6.0 won't load web page

Hi Cktrout5,
I am not a network guru, but I would download IE6 sp1 and see what happens. This should not have any ill effects on the OS and it will not only repair your IE6 (if thats the problem), but will give you better security and performance. I would also download all the Updates at the Microsoft Update site (if you have not done that already). What firewall and anti virus are you using? This may help the network guys out if they knew that.
Let us know how you make out.
Thanks,
Bill

Hi. I have a site that I like to go on. Forgot about it and then wanted to go back. Went back one night 2 weeks ago and was able to get onto the page and log in to access forums and such with no problems. Ever since then, when I go to the website and click on Forums, it takes forever to load and then just comes up with a blank white screen. Just tonight I made a bit of progress...if I waited it out forever, I could get to the log in screen but then when I click to login...same thing....wait forever only to eventually just get a blank white page. My computer loads every other website quickly. Why would I only be having problems with this one site. How can I fix this so I can access this website again??

Thanks!

I use Verizon ?My Yahoo? as my home page. I have it customized the way I like, but a few weeks ago parts of it stopped working. The links, which open a new page, work fine. However, the tabs, which take me to a new part of the same page, get a spinning wheel and never seem to load. The odd thing is that the very same page works fine on my husband?s computer.
I have deleted cookies, browsing history, etc. and reset IE to default settings. I also disabled all add-ons and used Microsoft?s Fixit tool. Nothing helped.
Does anyone else have these problems or a solution? Thanks.

Great forum!

I'm running XP Home, (but even my old 98SE had the same problem):

I cannot get any ABC web page to load! I don't know if it is a problem with the go domian or if it's my dialup/phone line or what, but every time I try and read a news story or any ABC, the page tries to load but I finally give up after waiting several minutes. I have had other sites that are 'slow' to load (about) but eventually they will.

It wouldn't be a big deal except there are times I need to look up programming, etc for my business and it's really annoying. My ISP guy had me do a ping (forgot how now) but it responded correctly and he's at a loss now as well.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

Im new to this website. I would like some help if possible.

When I switch on my computer it goes through all the loading process. Then to the welcome page, I type in my password, it then goes to the desktop but then nothing happens all I can see is my background and nothing else. I have never seen this before. I would be grateful of any advice.

cheers

olly

Answer:windows will not load after welcome page

it seems like "explorer.exe" is not loading. after the background loads, open task manager, go to "file, new task" and type in "explorer.exe." if everything loads after doing this, then some registries entries may be corrupt.

post back with results of the above suggestions.

Answer:MS security page won't load

I have a single webpage on a clients computer that will not load and I am at a loss as to why.  Everyone else in the building, hooked up to the same network can access it fine and sometimes the page even loads halfway then just stops.  It is a website that allows users to log into our citrix environment.  This user was able to log into the site fine a few days ago but yesterday and today it will not load for him.  I have tried clearing the browser cache and tried loading it in IE and firefox to no avail.  any other ideas what to do?  He is running windows 7 btw.

Answer:single web page will not load

Ok so I managed to get the system working properly again.  I uninstalled and reinstalled both IE and firefox and that solved the problem.
