built in webcam for ACER ASPIRE 5334 not working recognised

Question: built in webcam for ACER ASPIRE 5334 not working recognised

I have purchased a second hand ACER ASPIRE 5334 from a friend. He wiped the drive and re-installed Windows 7 and so up and running.

The only problem I have is that the computer seems not to recognise it has its own Webcam and so it doesn't work.

I thought it might be a driver missing so I tried to download the driver from both the driver disk that come with it and the Acer website, they both told me the webcam couldn't be found. It is there as I can see it. I looked in the devices manager and the computer does not seem to recognise it has a camera.

The computer did some windows updating, in fact 93 updates and then I looked again in devices and there was a webcam but still would not work. The next day I thought I would download the webcam driver from the disk and it still said there was no webcam, I looked again indevices and it was gone

Any ideas please
Sue

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So, I have an Acer Aspire 5750(Not a z or g, just 5750) and it runs Windows 7. About this time last year my webcam stopped working suddenly. Nothing to my knowledge happened to make it stop, I just came home one day and it wouldn't work.

I'm having a hard time finding a driver to install for it, since the Acer website doesn't seem to have one, I uninstalled the driver using device manager and restarted my computer for it to reinstall and that didn't fix the problem. I also used eRecovery and that didn't seem to work either.

I've tried reinstalled the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam program, and when I open it gives me this message:
"Warning
Acer Crystal Eye Webcam cannot connect to your webcam (1.3M HD WebCam). Try selecting another capture device within settings, or close any applications that may be using this webcam and then restart Acer Crystal Eye Webcam."

Another odd problem is that even the USB webcam's will not work with it, so I'm not entirely sure that the driver is the problem. I've done my fair share of research on this problem and cannot come up with a solution. It says the same warning message when I try to connect the Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 that I have to the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam program. I think it recognizes them, but just won't connect to them for some reason.

I assure you, it is not the program, because I have tried Skype, Cameroid, the LifeCam program that the USB webcam came with, and much more... Read more

Answer:Acer Aspire Notebook built in (and USB) webcam not working.

maybe the internal WebCam is not working correctly, but the computer thinks that it is so is not allowing any other type of WebCam to work hard to go into device manager and make sure that the internal WebCam is on installed, if not uninstall it restart the computer and see if it works, and get back to me.

Today, I clean installed Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 5536 and I noticed that my built-in mic isn't working

Any ideas anyone?

Answer:Acer Aspire 5536 built-in mic not working

I think the mic is actually controlled by the modem in that model.

Go here
Download

Enter your model information then select win 7 x64 and download and install everything listed under the driver tab.
You may want to hit application tab and download the camera stuff too, as it may also be related to sound.

The webcam on my Acer Aspire SW5-011 stopped working suddenly. I've checked for updates in Windows 10 and everyting is up to date. There are no conflicts or issues in Device Manager. I am running Windows 10 Home version 1511 (which I believe is the latest version). I've tried using the webcam with a couple of different apps and it's not working. For instance, when I try using Skype, I get a notificationn that it couldn't find a webcam and that I should install one. Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer:Webcam not working on Acer Aspire SW5-011

After installing windows update from the windows 10 Operating System, you are still facing issue with webcam to be working. To help you further, it is advised to uninstall the previous webcam drivers from the laptop and then let the windows 10 automatically reinstall it by its own. To uninstall webcam drivers, please follow the steps given below:- Press ?Windows? key + ?R? key on the keyboard.- Type in ?devmgmt.msc? in the run box and hit Enter.- Now device manager will open up, search for ?Imaging devices? from the list.- Right click on ?Imaging devices? and click on ?Properties?.- Now click on ?Driver? tab and then click on ?Uninstall? button to uninstall the webcam drivers.- Restart the system once the drivers are uninstalled and then wait for a while to windows automatically install the drivers. If issue persists, it is recommended to contact Acer Support Center for further assistance from the link given below:http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/ Hope this will help you.

Hi guys
I would like you to help me format my laptop's hard drive. it did not come with a recovery disk. It runs on windows 7 home basic and i installed Linux Ubuntu alongside windows. Then when i rebooted it reads "ERROR: NO SUCH PARTITION" "GRUB RESCUE>". How can i format the entire hard drive?

Answer:Formating an acer aspire 5334

Did you create the Recovery disc set when first obtained the laptop?

You can try using the Acer eRecovery (if installed and still intact)

If not then you will need the recovery media to reinstall the OS.

hi.
My acer battery was getting bad and my computer suggested I change it. Now with my charger plugged in(with or without battery) my laptop will power down after 15-20mins. I have ordered a new battery and will try it but I would have thought my laptop should run fine without one plugged in? Any idea the cause of this? My laptop would run for several hours on safe mode but even now safe mode is being powered down

Answer:Acer aspire 5334 keeps powering down

It may not actually be a battery issue. There is power circuitry in a laptop which interacts with the battery as well as charging or powering the laptop. The power circuitry could be faulty.

My kid's Acer Aspire 5443 was working well for years, then she "cleaned things up" or ran Windows update & the problems started with video.  I could not resolve Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit crashing.  The best I get after system reload to factory default, basic VGA.  As soon as updates are detected and applied to the Display adapters, it flashes to black /distorted screen when Windows opens, then locks up, usually with a message that the adapter detected an issue & recovered- everything frozen.  Device manager shows two instances of the Mobile Intel (R) 45 express Chipset Family MS Corp- WDDM 1.1.   I have updated the bios to v1.06 & vga bios to v1800, ran Windows Update, tried to find/load Intel GMA 4500M drivers, install intel chipset updates, all to the same effect- it locks.  I delete one instance of the device, same thing.  The only thing I can do so far is to disable the Display adapters.  The latest driver at Acer do not fix it either.  Wazzup with that?

Answer:Acer Aspire 5334 Windows & celeron acting Eractic

I once owned an Acer Aspire 5334 that started to lag terribly as well.  In the end, the only thing that cured it was CHKDSK.  In retrospect, it appears as though the hard drive developed some bad sectors just where an important file was written.  There won't be any harm in trying the same.  From an elevated Command Prompt run chkdsk /r (notice there's a space between "k" and "/").

Hi everyone I'm at my wits end! I cannot get my webcam to work. I have tried numerous options posted in different forums and on websites but nothing seems to work. Even when I went to the Acer update driver search site. When I added my model number I got about a dozen driver options but as soon as I put in my OS Windows 7 (64 Bit) it came back with no drivers. I've noticed in a number of forums that peoples webcams where working fine in Windows XP but when they updated to Windows 7 they lose the ability for their computers to find their webcams. Is this an inherent problem with Windows 7 and is there anyway to fix it short of buying an external webcam. Surly there must be a way to get it to work !!!

Hi,

I am having an Acer Aspire 1680 notebook with an AC'97 compatible soundcard apparently from Conexant, however unfortunately Windows 7 does not seem to recognise it automatically. I can install the XP drivers successfully but then all playback is stuttering and laggy. I also searched for Vista AC97 drivers respectively Vista Conexant drivers but they all do not appear to be compatible.

Does anybody know whether there is a working driver for Windows 7? Thanks very much.

Hey,

I had exactly the same issue with my Aspire 1692. For me this HP Driver * worked. Though, since the automatic Setup didn't work, I had to add the Driver manually.

Hope that helps!

Answer:help, acer aspire 505 built in mic screaming at me

Hi Izzy,

If the mike is actually producing the sound you are hearing then it is receiving an audio signal. Dynamic mikes are really just small speakers. If you are in an output port then maybe you are set up for Surround Sound. Check bios and audio setups and set for whatever you need. Mike should be in MIC. MAYBE!

Good Luck, Jim

Hi all,
Fairly new dv6 i7 HP with a webcam that used to work great inside the house. Now, the screen is just about all black except
for the dim outline of a light using the HP TrueVision HD cam. Machine came with Cyberlink YouCam 3.5 and I updated it to 5.0 and still same thing. I really don't want to have to use the USB webcam which works fine inside the house.
I went to device manager and found the HP TrueVision HD driver and updated it and it says that I have the latest driver.
Maybe I should delete this and re-install? I cannot find what I need, or rather I do not know what I need. HP is of little help since I went to an SSD which runs well but according to them it messes up the entire system and I am a bad customer. The problem existed before the SSD and I really do not wish to deal with HP tech any longer.
BTW the cam shows up outside so something is screwy and I cant put my finger on it. I have adjusted all the settings up down and everywhere in between then back to default which always worked well.
I hope the cam itself didn't go bad and I am leaning toward thinking that.
Thanks for any ideas.

Answer:Built in webcam not working well

Yes, please try reinstalling the driver for it.

Uninstall the driver, restart your computer and Windows should automatically the detect the webcam and prompt you to install a driver. Pull out the Driver CD or point to the location of the driver and let Windows install everything for you.

Restart your computer again and give the webcam a whirl. You may also want to use different programs to test out the webcam.

Have a look in Device Manager at Control Panel >> Device Manager.
If there's an error symbol against an "Imaging Device" or "Camera" or something along those lines it will be the camera driver you probably need to re-install.

The correct drivers for your Vaio VPCEA33FX are here:

Recently I"ve purchased a new computer with a webcam already built into the system, and, well [laugh] I 've dyed my hair and I wanted to show my dad, so I got on MSN to show him. Well the messenger couldn't find my Webcam, :

Frustrated , I tried another program with a friend, using Skype . And the same message was played back to me.( "You cannot change your camera settings because either your camera is not plugged in or you are using it in a video call with another program" ) So I did the following....

Answer:Built in webcam not working

Try re-installing the webcam driver from the laptop maker's website.
However, If it's an external webcam, download the driver from the webcam maker's website.

If that doesn't work, the webcam itself could be faulty.

I have a Compaq CQ58 and just recently i've started to notice that the webcam which is built into the laptop isn't working. I noticed this when trying to call someone on skype and then today tested it with the cyberlink youcam program that came with the laptop and it doesn't work there also, any help??

Thanks
Karl

Answer:Built In Webcam Not Working

Which version of the Compaq CQ58 Laptop do you have?.

Check if your webcam works properly with another application. (you said you have done this and it did not work).
Update your webcam drivers from its manufacturer’s website.

Let me know which version you have and i might be able to offer some more advice.

Hello everybody,

For some time now, almost a year, I have been without a webcam. And now, as of last night, I am beginning to have issues with my microphone. Both of these components are built into my SONY VAOI VGN-AW290, and had worked great since the purchase.

Although I know an easy fix would be to go buy a new mic and/or webcam, I would rather be able to fix the hardware currently on my computer.

My main concern is the microphone. Last night, while on Skype with friends, my microphone cut out, making the device recognition sound (as if I unplugged a USB drive from my laptop). It stayed off for some time, and then suddenly came back, playing the recognition sound again as if I had just plugged it back in. Now, as I said, the mic is built in, and so clearly this is a hardware issue, and I'm wondering what I can do about it.

I am willing to open up my laptop, and I have in the past (after the warranty had already ended), but I only know enough about the actual inside components of a computer to take out my RAM, and clean my fans and heat sink. I wouldn't know where to begin in order to find the microphone or the webcam. One thing to note is that when the microphone goes out, SOMETIMES if I lightly tap my laptop, it has a chance to come back on. But likewise, I notice that the movement is also likely a cause to it going off. So, is this a matter of something simple being "loose"? Does something just need to be reconnected? Tightened? Or is ... Read more

Hey everyone, I need some help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Yesterday my dad gave me his old laptop to use, it is a PC... Notebook D47K, and it has a built in webcam. The drivers were already installed and the program it uses (AMCAP) recognizes the camera, but it is just a blank screen. Here is a screenshot: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x33/darktunr/screenshot-2.jpg

I am thinking the camera just might be broken, but I don't think there is anything wrong with it so I don't know how that could be.

I have an advent roma 3000 laptop with built in webcam. I've only had in about 2 months, refirbed from PC World.

Anyway, the web cam has worked fine this whole time on things like MSN and Skype, I didnt have to install it; it took care of everything during the set up process.

Today it stopped working It allows to start a video call on MSN but it is just black. When I run the Youcam software (that came with it), it says video detected but again just black. I thought it could be because the 30 day trial of this ran out? (I dont use the software itself because I only use cam on MSN). I uninstalled that and tried both yawcam and VLC media as people advised these would help.. no job. I reinstalled the YouCam software it worked for a few minutes but then nothing.

When i video call on MSN, the light on the webcam comes on as if it is sending and people on the other end can hear my sound, but no picture!

I will literally marry the person that can help

I purchased a Toshiba Satellite P855-S5200 laptop (just over a month ago) that runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have used the webcam frequently for Skype and recording videos. Today when I tried making a video call, I got an error message from Skype that no camera was detected. I checked in Device Manager and the camera was not listed there. I've tried doing a system restore back to when I know the camera was working. That did not work. What could have caused this problem? What can I do to resolve it?

Answer:Built-in webcam has stopped working

Sounds like your web cam went bad. If you have already tried a system restore point. I doubt downloading drivers would solve the problem. Your best bet would be to have it service. You are still under warranty.

Answer:toshiba built in webcam not working

If the webcam is not listed under "Imaging Devices" and there are no error-symbols in Device Manager (eg question-mark), it almost always means that the device itself is faulty, such that it's no longer being detected. As far as Windows is concerned it doesn't exist. If it's still covered by warranty, Toshiba should fix it free of charge, otherwise it would be considerably cheaper to buy a clip-on webcam than to pay to get the internal one fixed.

I looked through the trend and another similar one before asking. I don't want to be an inconvenience but the things I tried through this trend and the other one did little to help. Perhaps I'm not doing it right?

My built-in camera for my laptop suddenly stopped working some time back. I found out when I was using this one website to take pictures like I always do and it told me camera not detected. It told me on Skype as well. I ran problem devices and it only detected printer problems; it does not detect problems with my cam.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.
6.1.7601 Service Pack 1, Build 7601
System Model AO756

If I go to: Device Manager and under Images the options to pick are - Xerox Phaser 3635MFP WIA, and Xerox WorkCentre/Pro WIA scanner. I don't think those are camera options.

I am at my wits end and have been trying to fix it for two months. Thank you beforehand for taking your time to read.

Answer:Built in Webcam - Not Detected or Not Working

If there is a warning or error in Device Manager that may be the web cam and it may just need a driver.

Else there is a small chance it somehow got disabled in the BIOS (Setup), so check in there.

Most likely the web cam died.

Hi there

My laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ60-214EM.
I have had it for 2 years and the webcam has always worked. However when I went into Cyberlink YouCam the other day, a message came up saying "no video device detected" and something along the lines of "If you have an integrated camera, make sure it is turned on."

I read up lots of forums and learned about Device Drivers a bit and first went to the Device Manager on my control panel. Nothing about "imaging devices" comes up at all, and nothing has exclamation marks next to it.

I then went to the relevant page on the compaq website, and downloaded the device driver for Cyberlink Youcam, thinking it might be that.. I'm not very good at this and there were no other drivers for a webcam or a camera or anything, this was the closest thing. The system requirements for this driver were "A webcam must be presented during installation. Otherwise the Cyberlink YouCam Software does not install." and I figured I obviously have a webcam, but after installing this driver, it told me that I don't have a webcam, and automatically uninstalled my YouCam.

I have Skype and really want my webcam back working.
Is it possible it has just "failed" because I have looked on hundreds of forums and nothing matches my exact issue!

Answer:Built-in webcam no longer working

Even without it's driver, the webcam device or "unknown imaging device" would still be shown in Device Manager (allbeit with an error symbol). The fact that it's not listed there, combined with the YouCam error message, does point to the webcam being faulty.

You can buy an external, clip-on webcam to get around this. Get a reputable brand, Microsoft, Logitech or Creative.

Answer:Solved: In-built Webcam Is Not Working

If it's not listed in Device Manager & neither are there any error symbols in Device Manager, it typically means the webcam itself is faulty or broken, which is why Windows is not detecting it. In that case, if the laptop is no longer covered by the manufacturer's warranty, you can buy an external webcam.

Right, well I got this Toshiba laptop about 4 years ago. 6 months ago it started playing up.
When I preview the webcam, and take a picture, the picture doesn't actually take. I go to my gallery and a picture that I took AGES ago comes up instead. I don't know why! I've deleted the picture. It's not even on here anymore.
I deleted my webcam software and restored it from the recycling bin but it didn't change anything.

It's really frustrating, how can I get my webcam to take the picture that's actually in front of the camera, not one that's no longer existing!?

It's an old Toshiba satellite I believe.
Thanks.

Since the notebook is new I'd guess the speaker wire connector on the motherboard has come loose, or the wires were pinched during assembly. If you are new enoough, just swap it out with your vendor. If it's a little too late for that, contact Acer support and they'll repair it for you.

Hello, I recently bought an Acer Aspire TC-105 UR11 model this summer. When purchased, I quickly installed a new power supply with a Radeon R9 270 video card for faster game performance. I have since realized I never use games that need nearly that much power and never will, so I'd like to sell the graphics card. Therein lies the problem, I took the R9 270 card out of the slot, plugged up the monitor into my PC's built in video port, and it was dead. The computer won't even boot up. I am at a loss for how to fix this as the A10 has a sufficient Radeon HD 8670D built in that I desperately want to use! Here are the steps I've taken so far: 1) browsed through all BIOS settings and cannot see an "enable" selection.2) removed the battery on the motherboard to erase any settings3) used the clear CMOS jumper to ensure any default settings were erased No matter what I do, I cannot get the computer to even boot up when I take the R9 270 out of the PCI Express slot. The computer doesn't even get to the BIOS, it is dead. What in the world is going on, any why would this be the case? The system works wonderfully otherwise. I would like to sell this card and need help!! Thanks to anyone who can help resolve this.

Answer:Acer Aspire TC-105 UR11 built in video problem

have you tried putting the R9 card back in, then try to boot, if that works then go into the control panel and uninstall the AMD drivers for the card, then shut down the computer, pull the card and put the cable on the other video connection and boot back up, the old driver must be removed first before the other port will function.if that is not the issue since you replaced the power supply just recheck that all the cables are seated, possible one came loose when you removed the video card {happens}

I got an old acer mini laptop form my mother while im waiting for my main laptop to be fixed and shipped but the laptop has a webcam but it doesn't work and the computer won't recognize it. I thought it was because there was no software for it but when i downloaded software the software won't open claiming there is no camera detectable. I tried using face book to see if it would pick up and where you set the flash settings it recognizes there is one there but it won't show up when okay is pressed. it operates on windows xp. any ideas whats up with it?

Question: Acer Aspire Webcam

Driver For Crystal Eye Webcam.I have an acer aspire 1810TZ with integrated webcam. I am running windows 7 64 bit. When the computer boots The Device manager detects an "unknown device" in the USB controller section with the error message "windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)".  In initially I tried uninstalling then scanning for hardware changes but the unknown device error reappeared.Since the aspire comes with a webcam and the webcam does not launch I suspect the unknown device is the webcam.I have tried uninstalling the device in Device Manager, switching off computer, removing all USB connections and rebooting without success. The unknown device is still detected. Automatically searching for the updated driver responds with "the best driver for your device is already installed".I have tried installing all 3 camera device drivers, one at a time listed on the acer support site http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads_gd.html (chicony, liteon, suyin) but without success. With the exception of the webcam there are no other issues with the laptop.Any suggestions or input gratefully received. Many thanks.

Hello everybody, After the last update, it seems that my HD Webcam does not work anymore. I've tried to use it with several programmes including Skype and Windows Camera, but neither of them is able to start the camera. Is it possible to download new drivers for this hardware? Where can I find them?? Thank you for paying attention and answering (my laptop model is "Acer Aspire E1-522")

Webcam always worked fine (mostly using Skype). Now Skype says it can't find a webcam. When I try to run the HP Mediasmart software it can't see the webcam either.
I've tried downloading new software from hp.com (Cyberlink youcam) but when I try to install this it just hangs and never completes - probably bc I've seen something on the cyberlink site that says it will not install successfully if there is no webcam.
Running Windows 7.

Built-in webcam not working...
So I was trying to use my Webcam on Skype and it said it wasn't working. So I checked the ArcSoft Webcam Campanion 4 to see if my camera was connected. It said "A webcam was not found or is not working properly. Please click Connect button and try again." So I click on the Connect button and it tells me "Camera not found. The camera is either being used by another application or is not connected. Make sure the cam is connected and working properly." I have no idea what to do!

My laptop is Sony Vaio and the model # is VPCEH35EN(E Series). I use Windows 7 Home Basic 64bit.
Kindly help me.

OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7100 @ 1.80GHz
RAM: 2 GB

My built in webcam just stopped working all of a sudden. I can't get it to work with Cyberlink YouCam or any other website that uses the webcam. I have a Sony Vaio model number VGN-CR120E. When I go to Device Manager and look under imaging devices, there's Sony Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC6. There is no little exclamation mark next to it. It is enabled, and I already right clicked on it and clicked the update driver software. It told me that it does not need to be updated. I am stumped. The green light doesn't turn on, either.

What should I do?

Thank you in advance.

You can get a mirror lots of places.

Did the webcam ever work? Does it appear as "OK" and Enabled in Device Manager under Imaging devices?
