Windows 7 64bit not working with my Radeon HD4670

Question: Windows 7 64bit not working with my Radeon HD4670

Hi everyone,

Im new here and registered because i am at a total loss

I recently aquired Windows 7 Installation cd and tried to install it o n my CPU:

Processor: AMD Athlon x2 2.60 GHz
Motherboard: Biostar A690M2+
VGA: Sapphire Radeon HD 4670
GRAM: 2x 2GB RAM

Now the problem is that the 32bit version of windows 7 works flawless with my system but the 64bit just wont work with my HD 4670...

I found out that its the HD 4670 because i tried installing windows 7 64bit with minimal RAM and onboard VGA. Then i put the pieces together 1 by 1 and booted windows to test which piece was the culprit...
After i put the HD 4670 in for the first time Windows 7 64Bit boots normally, but once it recognizes the VGA and installs a driver, after i reboot it hangs at the startup and gives me a Bluescreen with an unreadable error message, its unreadable because it rebooots too fast for me to actually read the Bluescreen message

I tried booting in safemode and disabling the HD 4670 in device manager, using driver sweeper and then installing the newest drivers but same result, after i reboot windows would restart itself on startup and give me Bluescreen

Pls note that it works fine in 32bit and that im a total CPU noob so pls refrain from any shortterms

Thanks in Advance

Preferred Solution: Windows 7 64bit not working with my Radeon HD4670

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey W7 Forums,

When my screen displays a picture or video that had black in it there is a large amount of blue pixels around it that keep moving... I don't know what is causing this, My resolution is 1920x1080 I have my gfx set at deafult/ RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format (Full RGB) the drivers are fully up to date as well. This is extremely noticeable when starting the pc up, the windows 7 logo is surrounded by a large amount of blue pixels.

Answer:Radeon HD4670 Odd Blue

Does it affect anything once Windows is loaded and running? If not, the answer is simple.

Forget it and be happy.

Sorry about the double post, but I think a topic would be better.

My new HD 4670 displays a Code 43 at the Device Manager. I installed the latest catalyst version and even the agp hotfix, they don't work. Any suggestions?

Hardware ID's:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9495&SUBSYS_00281787&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9495&SUBSYS_00281787

Thanks in advance

Answer:Ati Radeon HD4670 Error Code 43

Doing a google search for error code 43 suggests it's a driver issue. One suggestion is to uninstall the device and drivers, then restart and DO NOT allow Windows to search and install any drivers, then install the latest ATI Catalyst (which includes the drivers).

You can uninstall both the device and the drivers in the Device Manager. RIGHT click on the HD4670 (to highlight it) then LEFT click "Uninstall" and check the box to also uninstall the Drivers. Then restart the PC and install as noted.

(I have an HD4850 installed in my Win 7 64 bit system).

Hey guys. I recently put together a new computer, and my situation with my graphics card has left me completely stumped at this point. I have a XFX Radeon HD4670 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814150450 ) for my graphics card, and the MS-7525 ( http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppo [...] peId=12454 ) for my motherboard. Also, my power supply is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817159045

My problem is that whenever I connect my monitor to my graphics card, the monitor will read "no signal". Also happens if I have the card in with the monitor plugged into the motherboard. The fan does indeed spin on the graphics card. I can only access the graphics if I take out the graphics card completely and use the onboard graphics. I have tried to disable the onboard graphics and changing my graphics settings in my bios to PCI-E rather than onboard or just PCI.
Also, if I turn the computer on with the graphics card in, not only will I get no signal, but I will not be able to turn off the computer with the power button.

Thanks for reading, appreciate any help I can get.

Answer:XFX Radeon HD4670, no signal on monitor when used.

What type of cable are you using to connect monitor to PC? From the links you've given, are you using the stock PSU from the slimline or the PSU from newegg? Have you installed the driver for the GPU? I see no mention of driver installation.

Hello, its been a few years since i last posted anything on here...Mainly since ive been using a macbook pro and then moving onto laptops.....Anyway I was just offered this pc for free and took it. The setup was the following:
MSI K9AGM mobo with Ati xpress 1150
1 gig of ram ddr2 800
AMD socket am2 Athlon 3800+ single core.
and thats about all that needs to be mentioned.

Anyway I bought some memory for it (1gig) and a radeon HD4670 by Asus with 512mb. I installed windows 7 ultimate and it works fine.

However, For my 3dmark 05 result i got 9665 ? Could the processor be a bottleneck to the GPU?
Also when i watch a bluray movie on my computer the picture lags...as if it was going at a frame rate of 10-15....? My laptop has a dual core AMd athlon and 4 gigs of ram and a Radeon HD4570 and no problems.

I have the latest beta version of Ati catalyst control center. But to be honest when i had a Radeon X1900xt i felt the same way with that card as with this one. Appauled by its power. Whereas Nvidia have always had that wow factor in power to me (5200, 5900, 6600, 6600gt and 7900GTX)

Anyways advice would be very helpul.

I am actually thinking of abandoning this system and going for Intel i5 and a NVIDIA.

Hey guys,

just wondering if anyone can shine some light on my situation, im wanting to upgrade my graphics card from a Radeon HD4670 but I'm unsure what would be my best option without a massive price tag. Any ideas?

Answer:Upgrading graphics card from Radeon HD4670

Hi Dec11495, Welcome to Seven forums.

It will be very nice of you if you share with us the purpose for which you are planning to upgrade the GPU. I mean, do you want to play games, video editing or simply watch videos and play light games. Also, how much you want to spend?

Once we have the info, we would also like to know which PSU (power supply you have)? As high end GPUs require a good PSU as well.

Keep us posted.

Just bought a 4670 agp card for my xp non vista after my radeon 9800 pro was given lines all down the screen.

instealled the new card and it was detected but could not not from the dvd i had as for some reason my dvd and cd player do not always work as they should. so i went to get th esoftware from the main amd site and was faced with having to download a hotfix 9-10_agp-hotfix_xp32_dd_cc as it says it could not detect my card which i thought was strange. i downloaded and installed and then rebooted, before it got to windows my monitor died and a blue screen then comes up with the following

ati2dvag

the device driver got stuck in an infinate loop, this usually indicates problem with the device itself or with the driver programming the hardware incorrectly
stop (0x86f87b28, 0x86fd25a8, 0xf78bacbc, 0x00000001)

then safe mode i uninstalled and then downloaded just the display driver and same thing happend. I looked at search for the file name and found it in several places and going back a few years so moved all to the delete bin in case one was interferring with the main one and at this point rebooted. this time card was not even in the device manager! but my dvd rom was working this time and i used the setup from the dvd and rebooted same thing happend again!

now i dont know how to get the dam card to work and i am getting rather annoyed! and tried several things now and i have now had to do a system restore to yesterday before i installed the software. w... Read more

From this review it seems clear the US $379 Vidock 2 with the ATI Radeon HD 4670 desktop card will work well with an integrated graphics only T400 running Windows 7. But does the Vista restriction of requiring the same display driver if one has multiple graphics adapters, see  here , mean that it would only be possible to use Vidock 2 with a discrete graphics (ie with switchable graphics architecture) T400/500 under Windows 7? I realize in this case Vista wouldn't support multiple monitors, but would it be feasible to turn off the laptop LCD (Fn+F7 option?) to get the DVI monitor attached to the Vidock 2 in turn attached via the ExpressCard to work properly under Vista? Would it require turning off switchable graphics in Bios? Would the answers be the same for the Vidock 4 with the ATI Radeon HD 4890 that is supposed to ship this month?Message Edited by zilla on 2009-08-01 01:57 PM

Answer:Vidock 2 w ATI HD4670 working with switchable graphics version of T400/500?

The Vista restriction to only one single software driver for multiple graphics adapters is met for a Vidock 2 attached to my T500 because the ATI Catalyst driver is the same for HD 3650, HD 4670 and HD 4890. Worst case might be that one would have to set discrete graphics (only) option in Bios. With a bit of luck even switchable graphics might work, as starting with Catalyst 9.5 ATI integrated switchable graphics into their vanilla desktop drivers.

Hi all,
New to the forum so hello!

I've recently bought an XFX 7870 Tahiti and have been having loads of trouble getting the drivers installed in Windows 8 64bit. It shows up as Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor and when I try to install the Catalyst drivers I get the BSOD with the following error:

page_fault_in_nonpaged_area atikmdag.sys

When I first got the card I spent a couple of weeks trouble shooting this. I tried various things such as driver refreshes, running memtest, reseating every component in the case. Basically everything I could find online!

Eventually I took an image of my HTPC which runs Windows 8 32bit and copied this image over to my new rig. The card then installed fine. The card works perfectly in 32bit with no issues what so ever. This is fine, other than the fact that I can only use 3GB of my 12GB of memory!

With the release of Windows 8.1 Preview I thought I'd have another bash at this but still get the same issues. On a completely fresh install of 64bit I get the same BSOD but the 32bit version is completely fine.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Or got any idea about anything I can try!?

Answer:Radeon BSOD only in Windows 8 64bit

Have you looked into a BIOS update for your Motherboard? have you got the correct drivers? AMD/ATi dont seem to show any that i can see but looking at forums suggest the drivers should be obtained from XFX directly. Be worth registering with the product details and see what it offers there. Reckon the drivers could be sat behind the login screen

ok... So i feel like i have tried everything but I'm sure i haven't because if i did it would be working here's my problem and a time line.

Preorder'd win 7 got it on the 22nd

installed it yesterday. it immediately ran windows update, during that update it installed the drivers for my GFX Card i rebooted my PC and it stopped loading at the starting windows screen after waiting 10-15 minutes i reset the PC and let it boot into start up repair mode which ran system restore and successfully removed the drivers. after booting into windows again i removed the update for the GFX card so i could at least redo the other updates (System restore removed them all) after installing the other updates i rebooted to see if i had the same problem i didn't so that narrowed it down to the drivers WU was trying to install. i knew WU and Drivers were not a good combo so i went to AMD and downloaded the latest catalyst and drivers version 9.10 for win vista and 7 64 bit. i installed those drivers and reboot still no go. ran the system restore again to roll back the drivers which worked. did this whole install roll back process many times. so after a few hours i deleted all ATI folders re-downloaded the 9.10 Package this time running it in compatibility mode for vista still same problem. Any Suggestions?

so to sum it all up I'm having more trouble finding drivers for windows than i had with finding drivers for Ubuntu now that is saying something.

My system Specs are filled in

Hey, I just upgraded to windows 7 and put it in a freshly built custom pc. Running Asus Maximus Formula MB with ATI RAdeon 5770 video card and E8400 intel duo core processor.

I am having issues when I download the new driver from the ATI website which was released 10.13.2009 so its pretty new driver. But, when I got to test benchmark or even test performance in a game I notice that my FPS will be really high and then all of a sudden it will drop and remain that way. I am not sure if thats suppose to be like that. But for example

I have a copy of FEAR and run everything on Max settings and go to test mode and all my FPS are well above 100 fps and then in the middle of it all the FPS will drop to 30-40 fps and will remain that way even when I restart it. Even my benchmark I would get a score of 60,000 and then run another test and hit 45,000 so something weird is going on and I've tried to turn off the driver detection through windows to see if that works. But, at this point I am so confused Im about to sell this new video card and get an nvidia card.

Is this the driver you downloaded, it says it's for windows 7 ?

If it is try deleting the driver and downloading again (they sometimes get corrupted during download )

I have upgraded my recently bought B320 all-in-one to Windows 8 and now have a problem with video card drivers for HD7450 graphics card. Default Win 8's driver (named something like Windows Radeon HD7400 series ) works just fine, but it have no OpenGL support and therefor I can not run some games like Minecraft. Catalyst drivers available from AMD website can not detect the video card (probably because it have lenovo-specific oem ids?), and on lenovo downloads only 32bit drivers are available for AMD cards. Was anyone able to get catalyst drivers working on B320 with 64bit Windows 8?May be there is a compatible lenovo desktop or all-in-one which already have those drivers? And will Lenovo release 64bit video drivers for B320 anytime soon?

Answer:IdeaCentre B320 - Windows 8 64bit drivers for AMD radeon HD 7450 card

Till a better idea comes along: Don't know if you have tried this but first thing I'd do is go to control panel/system/device manager, find the devices, right click and ask for it to update the drivers.  If there are new ones around they should be found. The only drivers Lenovo offers for the b320 are 32 for some reason and they may not be the best.  I had a dead card reader, downloaded their drivers, and it did no good, asked the machine to update the driver, it did and it worked.  I don't know where it found the driver but it was not lenovos download page. Hopefully they will get some updated stuff soon.  The tv software is poor at best.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this issue I am having.

I have a HP Pavilion Dv7 laptop with a Radeon HD6770M Video card and when I installed the initial drivers after doing a factory restore on my laptop the video card showed the HD6770M in the device manager. Once I updated the drivers using the driver update utility from AMD the card now shows up as the HD6700M which is messing with video and games. This is really becoming an issue because I cannot update the Intel HD graphics drivers as well.

Any help with getting these drivers working correctly would be greatly appreciated.

(I should have sufficient system setup info in my system on the forums. If not let me know)

thanks.

Answer:Windows 8 64bit IE 10 app not working

1. when you switch to apps - from desktop by pressing windows key on keyboard.
DO YOU have IE on your start menu
OR are you then right clicking on a blank area and clicking on all apps and then opening from there

2.When you say it does not connect - is that a message, as depending on how it has been used it only opens on a blank screen, but at the bottom you should see the IE symbol and the bar

Please see my screenshot - that bar is at the bottom of the page I have copied and pasted only the bar

Hi,

Just got into the flavour of windows 7 for a couple of days and I'm lovin' it.

Now, I installed Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus 64 bit on my system. Then I tried to use the Mathtype plugin 6.6a, but I cannot make it to work.

What I've done so far:

1. Installed MS Office 2010 Professional Plus 64bit successfully.
2. Installed Mathtype 6.6a successfully.
3. Copied the following files in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\STARTUP
C:\Program Files\Math Type\MathPage\MathPage.wll
C:\Program Files\Math Type\Office Support\MathType Commands 6 For Word.dotm
C:\Program Files\Math Type\Office Support\WordCmds.dot
What is the error I am getting?

1.When I open MS Word, there is a macro warning (as usual) and when I "Enable Content", the following error screen pops up:

2. When I press "OK", I get the following error screen:

3. The "Help" button shows me the following windows7 help:

Is it possible to integrate the add-in to the MS Office 2010?

We at Design Science are working on 64-bit office compatibility for MathType. However, the current version is not recommended for use with Office 2010. Answer:ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 not working with Windows 7

Hey, John. Do you have the latest driver for Windows 7 installed? That was a bit of a problem for me in my Laptop. The aero effects didnt come as the latest driver for my graphic card wasnt installed.

Also as a precaution dont try the Windows Experience index without the latest drivers for Windows 7. I got a BSOD when doing that without the latest ones. If you have the latest one's try doing the Window's Experience Index and it may adjust your settings to get the aero effects.

Here is the link for the latest ones: Link

Hi, you only need a 64bit OS when you have more than 4Gb RAM - or if you plan to add more RAM of course.

Perhaps your thinking about 2.89Gb comes from part of your RAM being shared with a video card, or used by integrated graphics.

Answer:AMD Radeon Mobility 5xxx and Windows 10 just NOT working with me !

In my experience, Windows Basic Adapter means that Windows Update can't find a driver for your video chipset, so it installs this generic one by default. I had a similar problem with an older laptop with an Intel video chipset. Worked fine in Win7 but Win10 could not find any driver for it. I gave up and went back to Win7. Not every Win7 machine can be upgraded to Win10 successfully -- regardless of what the Win10 Compatibility Appraiser tool tells you.

Hi everybody,

I am not able to get my AMD Radeon mobility 5730 to work with windows 10. I just upgraded from windows 7 professional yesterday and I've been at it since then. I've tried many fixes that I found on the internet and NOTHING works. So I am almost about to rollback, unless I solve this thing (I have too much work to do and I have no time for these problems).

Hi all,

I have upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, I am having problems with my Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400. The Mobility Radeon X1300 can't be detected at all. I cannot run games such as World of Warcraft, or Mass Effect, unless the drivers work.

I have installed Catalyst 8.12 drivers from DriverHeaven, and also modified the drivers using HH Mobility Modder. There is still no change.

Just a FYI,

Hi there, uninstall your current video card drivers, run driver sweeper to remove any leftovers from the uninstall, reboot and install the latest catalyst driver (10.12) which has support for both, your card and windows 7.

EDIT: oh noes, i just re-read the whole thing, i misread, it's mobility radeon, i think there's no support for that card in windows 7. i'll post back in a few minutes

OK, here's what i found on the forums, check those out

Hello,

I have a peculiar problem with aero peek. It sometimes just decides not to work anymore, and only shows labels instead of a preview. This is only temporary, because when I switch between other windows, the aero peek is activated again. I actually reproduced this behavior by switching to this post, and writing for 1-2 minutes. Hovering now only produced labels/tooltips. By switching to another window, aero was "activated" again.

I have tried the "Find and fix problems with transparency and other visual effects", but Windows couldn't find any problems

Hi,

After months of patience and following the drivers-info on the Toshiba website,i found it was time to replaced my Vista32 Ultimate with Windows7 Ultimate. It seemed that all drivers now have a 64bit version working under Windows 7, the missing drivers/software could be replace with the Vista 64bit versions. Unfortunately i got some problems with the TOSHIBA PCI DVB-T/Analog TV Hybrid Tuner.

Just searched a couple of ours for a sollution to the TOSHIBA PCI DVB-T/Analog TV Hybrid Tuner (x64) problem with Windows 7. In hardware manager it shows an yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, telling me that there is a problem with the device. Via properties i get an error with code(39).

I have downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba website which returns the following files:

TISDBT1A64.inf
TISDBT1A64.sys
and an additional 'setISDBTDriverParameters'-regkey.

1) When i try to replace the drivers by via the properties in devicemanager, i get a message back that the best drivers are already installed and there is no better driver found.

2) Install manually
There are no instructions to install the downloaded files, nor the regkey. When i try to install the 'inf' file with rightclick, i get a installationerror the the selected inf-file does not suppoert this installationmethod.

But I have some keys which are not working: Fn+F5 or Fn+F6 should change the LCD brightness. Do you know why these keys are not working? Can you change brightness in the Power control panel?
1.  from the start screen, type "Power Options"
2.  click on Power Options
3.  At the bottom of this window, should be a slider control to change the screen brightness.  Is it there?  Does it work?

I have had a massive HDD failure. I found a spare 250Gb and installed a copy of windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on it. Sadly I don't own windows 8 or 8.1 that my laptop was designed for. So my question is ther anyway to get drivers for this laptop using 7 64bit os? I know I can get the amd apu driver via amd.com but not sure about the rest. Most important one is my wireless and USB 3.0 drivers. But all would be best. I have looked in official drivers but only 8 and 8.1 drivers made for this computer. And as old as it is this is my only option for looking for help. thanks in advance, Alice

Hello all,

I am having some serious difficulty in trying to get my GPU to work. After scouring the internet for solutions, I finally arrived on this website. I found several topics dedicated to this card, but unfortunately they held no solution for me.

I've tried the CCC download, the driver-only download, I've tried to use the hotfixes, and finally I've tried to add a line in the .inf file; that worked, but the computer didn't like it and gave me no options to properly size my resolution. I let the computer update it automatically and it returned the driver to the standard vga driver.

It could well be that the problem is that the topics are old (i.e. they involve the older drivers), but I was hoping that someone has figured out the solution for the newer drivers.

In short: please help me to get my Radeon HD 3650 to work on my Windows 7 64bit system.

Today i updated my Windows 7 laptop to the Windows 10 Home 64bit OS. Everything seems to work fine, except the WIFI. Windows does find my adapter, but won't wake it up. My built-in wifi button (f12) has got a red light on it, even when I pressed it. I tried the Windows 8 wireless button driver, but i didn't solve my problem. With that driver installed the button switches between airplanemode on/off. Not between WIFI. Also in the WIFi settings wifi turn off. When I try to switch it on, it directly turns back to "off". Wired internet works flawless. I gues it's an driver issue, so i was wondering if there is an driver upcomming? Or is there another solution to switch it on.Please help me. It's very annoying.

Just picked up a Corsair Voyager GT 16GB USB 3.0

Plugged it into USB 3.0 port, my Intel Win8 PC did not like it, just said there was a problem with the device. Managed to solve the problem on Intel Win8 pc by installing some Renesas USB3.0 drivers.

However, I have the same issue on my new AMD build (see sig) also using Win8 64bit too. The renesas drivers do not work as that motherboard does not use renesas usb 3 controller. I tried one or two others as well, including an old Win7 one for AMD boards with no luck.

Have flashed the BIOS to latest version, and installed latest drivers and firmware for it - well kind of, you have to run the Setup.exe for the Gigabyte F2X85A motherboard in Windows 7 compatibility mode, if I try and run normally, it says O/S not supported!

Very shoddy Win8 support for some chipset and USB drivers. But if anyone can find a solution i'd be VERY happy.

Answer:Ideapad U310 Windows 7 64bit, YouCam not working

hi vtrakroo,

The Lexmark X422 that you're seing is likely the scanner from your Lexmark printer (the built-in camera should usually be listed as Lenovo Easy Camera or similar)
  - Sample image

Things that you can try:
1. Boot into the BIOS by pressing F2 (or Fn+F2). In the BIOS, press F9 (or Fn+F9) to load setup defaults then press F10 (or Fn+F10) to save and exit.
    - this procedure will refresh all hardware components in the system

2. Inside Windows, check if you have an Unknown Device in the Other Devices section. If you have this, follow this guide on how to identify the device (or post the Hardware ID here)
    - Sample image

3. Reinstall the camera driver
   - Camera Driver (Bison, Chicony, Awazu) for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)

Let me know how it goes.

I aldready posted this elsewhere on the forums, but then noticed that topic was located it was in the Tutorials section. Since it's pretty urgent to me I also created this topic.

Recently I upgraded from Win7 x86 to x64 (professional), but I can't get Windows Mail to work. I got a copy of a working 64bit version (from another computer) of Windows Mail but it won't work on my system, giving this error: 0x8007000E. I Googled it dozens of times but can't get to a solution, most of the results are related to Vista, 32bit and/or other software applications.

My housemate also has a Win7 64bit system, so I already tried copying my Windows Mail to his computer to see if it's corrupt or something alike, but it's not. It totally works on his computer.

Somewhere I found the solution of locating another MSOERES.dll elsewhere on the computer (C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-m..-core-dll.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_en-us_2cea88b0c19dd22e) and placing it in the Windows Mail folder. I was very happy to see it actually launched the application, BUT.. There are no icons whatsoever and some text styling isn't correct:

I copied the whole Windows Mail folder again, placed it on my mate's computer, but with the same result. So this is probably due to MSOERES.dll. But with using the one that SHOULD work, I get the 0x8007000E error.

Does anyone have an idea about how to solve this? I really want it to work the way it should 'cause I know it's possible, as... Read more

Can you tell us how you got Windows Mial on Windows 7? According to this Windows Mail isn't included with Windows 7 - Looking for Windows Mail? You'll have to use Windows Live Mail.

I know I don't have Windows Mail on my system, I do however have Live Mail, though I don't use it.

Am I missing something?

Actaully why can't you just use Live Mail? Doing the hack and crack thing with Windows Mail isn't going to work too well as you've seen.

I've been trying to get this to work for awhile now and I've kind of run out of ideas at this point. I'm hoping someone has found a fix.

I'm running SuSE 9.2 on my eMachines M6805 (recently flashed to the M6809 BIOS). Everything about the laptop seems to work just fine in SuSE, but for the life of me I can't get the Radeon 9600 drivers provided by ATI to work. I tried both the ones on the ATI website (and followed their directions as well as tried some work-around fix they mentioned if you have problems), as well as following the SuSE directions and RPM's that they have on their ftp. Neither have worked. I've been to www.muru.com and tried the XF86Config there, I'm been to www.skreak.com to try the info there. Nothing seems to fix the problem.

No matter what I do I cannot get 3d acceleration to work on this thing. I can't even get it to run at 1280x800 mode. Has anyone been able to get SuSE 9.2 64-bit working with this laptop? If so, please throw me a line here and help me out. I have X up and running fine for now, but I'd really like to have OpenGL and run at a good resolution. Thanks!

Hi,
I have upgraded my new laptop from Vista to Win7 64 bit, however the function keys do not work and the function keys that display at the top when you press FN does not show anymore. I have installed Utilities and Value Added Package but no success. Any help is apperciated.

Note To Toshiba Team:
Why don't you package all necessary drivers and software in one package after testing them, based on computer model for example in my case Satellite A350-13A, you could make one package for Win7x64 another for Win7x32, etc, instead of leaving us spending days to figure out what to install and where to find it and if it will work or not. Awaiting your feedback.

Some models need the Flash Card Support driver. Have you installed that? (install the Win7 version, not the Vista version)

Hi

You need to install the Flash Card support utility additionally to the VAP!!!
The Flash Card support Utility can be found in Satellite L500 driver area for example.
After installation if Flash Card support Utility reboot the unit once again and then check the functionality.

What I found is an intermittent problem with windows paste (ctrl-v) stops working within all applications and even between applications. It turns out that if I stop or restart Internet Explorer 8, then I can cut and paste again normally. After running Internet explorer again for an hour or two or even a day or two, the problem re-occurs, and again I have to close internet explorer.

I use various applications putty, xming, notepad++, firefox, internet explorer 8, outlook 2010, toad, office 2010 all running on Windows 7 64bit and I restart my PC every 4 or 5 days. Our PC's are regularly patched and have the latest updates and have virus protection.

Has anyone else noticed this cut and paste problem with Windows 7 64bit and Internet Explorer ?

I recently upgraded my T410 from Windows 7 64 bit to Windows 10 64 bit.  My Series 3 docking station worked great under Windows 7.  However, it is NOT functioning properly with my upgrade to Windows 10 64 bit. I see the BIOS startup as I did before under Windows 7, but then I see a black screen with only the cursor.  I can move the cursor on the black screen but the screen NEVER changes from black.  I am have the Intel integrated graphics with driver version 8.15.10.2900 dated 11/26/2012. In advance I appreciate the assistance as I can't work at my desk with my 24" monitor!

Answer:T410 with Windows 10 (64bit) not working with Series 3 Docking Station

For me it seems, than Windows 10 Pro will work well (under the black desktop).I could see the Win10-Taskbar, Select Startmenu, Run Programs but complete Desktop will be black.Cursor will shown, called Windows-Programms are shown and working well on all 3 connected screen.I could even click somewhere on the black area, where my desktop icons should be, I could start programs from the desktop too.If I switch the Windows-Design to other designs or other backgrounds, I could see the selected picture for half a second but then it will be immediately "overdrawn" by the black background ??? If I disable T410-LCD and use only my 2 by docking station connected external monitor, the Windows 10 Desktopbackground will be handled normal, without any problems. Probably someone will have a solution for me.Thanks in advance.dm01

Hi there! I've trouble with standby on my X121e (AMD E-450 platform). Hibernation works well, but standby doesn't work at all. If I start the X121e to resume from standby, I will either get error messages about almost every single program crashing (something with violation in address soandso) or it will reboot immediately. If I don't powercycle after this, Keyboard and Mouse won't work (altough at least I can use the keyboard in the Windows "F8" boot menu). Im running a pretty straightforward Windows 7 64bit installation and the Lenovo Solution Centre tells me that everything is up to date and OK. I'm also running the latest BIOS firmware, which should be 1.15 Oh, and the system is configured as EFI if that matters. What can I do to make standby work again? Regards  Steffen

Tried to install Acronis in the RTM 64 bit version of Windows 8 and got an error message that it was not compatible with Windows 8.
The same version worked with the Release preview and on checking with Acronis Support they say it will not work with Eight and they are working on a solution.
They should have had something working bye now as they have had a lot of time to develop something.
I am very upset that I paid for something that does not work and will have to go to the free Macrium backup software so that I can get an Image of my new install

Hi All, I just got Lenovo T420 Last week with Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit OS. Unfortunately internal microphone array does not work. I already tried installing  latest Audio driver for Conexant 20672 SmartAudio HD from Lenovo Support Site. Driver  8.32.23.5 . Still no luck. Refereed one of blog article where they mentioned to disable Audio Enhancement, unchecked that and still no luck. Tried with Skype, Google Voice, Cisco WebEx Communicator, IP Communicator and no luck in getting internal Microphone to work. Also tried sound recorder and all recordings are blank. There are lot of users who are facing this problem with Lenovo T420 Win 7 64Bit OS, not many users have time to come forward to discuss the same. Trying an alternative solution like plugging in an external mic or using usb headphones is not an option. Internal speakers work fine. If external mic is plugged in even that works fine. to isolate this issue. I even tried downgrading and upgrading several audio driver releases. also tried clean OS reinstall and tried deploying our Win 7 Lenovo image on this laptop. still no luck. I suspect this could be an hardware problem. Please suggest. Remember: I have already tried settings under Fn+F6 key several times using permutation and combination and spent atleast 8 Hours continuously to find a fix. Any known solution, Hotfixes from Lenovo is highly appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo T420 - 4236 - J97 Internal Microphone not working on Windows 7 64Bit

I also just now tried loading Ubuntu 10.10 Live and internal mic does not take any input. Looks like its a hardware issue and needs replacement. Please let me know if any one has come accross this problem.

Are you ruinning through the HDMI port? I have a 4670 that I am not using because I could not get the HDMI to work and that was the reason I bought this board. I waited for the latest rev of CCC and drivers and no improvement. I was told that I might have to change the pixel mode? to limtied vga or some such but it doesn't exist on the control center. I pulled the board and plugged in an NVidea 9600 and never had any more problems.

Hi, I've been trying to solve this issue for over a week with all the solutions I can find in the net but so far with no results. My G500 has these 2 GPUs (Intel and AMD) and when I had Win 8.1 installed, plugging the HDMI cable instantly produced an small flicker in the desktop and after that moment I could extend my desktop via my HDMI out (immediately signaled as active in the TV) After installing W10, with all drivers upgraded (both Intel and AMD) when plugging HDMI cable nothing happens, and forcing extend (or clone) display does not detect a second screen. It seems as the PC can not detect the HDMI connection (neither the TV acknowledges it and does not allow to select the HDMI input). Was this situation already recognized as a bug/issue in Microsoft (Windows 10) or Intel (at least in the HD 4000/8750M combo, it's the Intel HD Graphics software that controls screen expansion)?Anyone else around with same problem even if with different Graphic cards? Thanks!

Answer:Satellite L550 - Flash Cards stopped working after Windows 7 64bit repair

Hi

Wait a moment, please! In which order you have installed/reinstalled the Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility? It would be interesting to know what you have done exactly.

I have used the following ?repair? order for this problem:
I uninstalled Flash Cards Support Utility and then Value Added Package. I did make a restart and cleaned the system by using CCleaner. One restart more and I installed Value Added Package firstly and then Flash Cards Support Utility. Now I did make the last restart and the FN keys started to work!

It?s important that you install the new versions for Windows 7!
That means Flash Cards Support Utility version 1.63.0.4 and VAP version 1.2.34_64. I founded both on the Toshiba website :)

Hi there, I have a G580 notebook with Windows 8.1 64bit installed. I have recently noticed that the SD Card Reader is not working or appearing in Device Manager. When I insert a card into the reader nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the card reader driver downloaded from Lenovo support and also from Realtek but nothing changes. I have scanned for new hardware and also ticked "Show hidden devices" in Device Manager and still nothing appears. I have another G580 notebook with Windows 10 installed and the card reader works fine but I do not want to update this notebook to Windows 10.

Answer:G580 Windows 8.1 64bit SD Card Reader not working/appearing in Device Manager

Do you have any "unknown devices" listed or showing in device manager?  If you do, right click and choose properties then look at Hardware ID and google it.

You can try resetting the BIOS by removing the battery and AC adapter then holding down the power button for 30 seconds.  Re-install the battery and AC adapter then power the system on to see if your device shows up.

Hello...
My current settings:
Running windows xp pro
Motherboard: Arock 775V88+
Graphic: Radeon 9600pro 126Mb
Power supply: Startronic , Pentium P4 & PFC, Model: st-500cpba

I bought today a new graphic card, Powercolor HD 4670 1GB DDR3 AGP.
I uninstaled the old graphic card drivers turned pc off and replaced the graphics. My pc doesnt boot and i get a beeps sequence.
About the BIPS i get in begining i will descrive the best i can:

One long beep that can also be 2 short beeps with 1/4 second difference, a sequence of 8 short beeps with half a second between them, then after 1 second another short beep.

I had to change back to the old graphic card to come ask for help, whats going on here? Can someone pls help?

Answer:powercolor hd4670 agp [need help pls]

Firstly the BIOS Error beep codes would be indicating no Video Device detected. This could mean that either the the card was not seated correctly in the slot (I would recheck this) or your PSU is not able to provide sufficient power to the card.

You have plugged in the the 4pin molex plug for the power connection to the video card?

Video = Radeon HD4670 1gb with DVi, HDMI and VGA outputs (1 of each)...nice card. I like it!

Current Monitor = LG 24" with DVi and VGA inputs (connected with standard VGA connection at the moment)

I also have an 19" Acer LCD that I would like to add as a second monitor.
It only has one VGA input.
(Manual says it has DVi and VGA, but there is no DVi plug present on my monitor!)

Is this a possiblity and what would be the setup?
What cables would I need,
what would be the primary and secondary connection
and what is the procedure for setting up the display?

Oh, and can you also do a complete TuneUp on my Dodge and shampoo my carpets?
I'm not asking too much, am I?
...or is this impossible without a dual monitor output Video Card?
(which I didn't think about when I recently bought this HD4670! lol)

Hi all

I just bought a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4670 512MB GDDR3 and installed the latest Catalyst drivers (I am on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate)

But whenever I set a game's resolution to 1280x720 ( I tried this in NFS:Shift and Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 Demo), it goes to 1280x1024 with HUGE borders at the top and bottom of the screen. 1680x1050 resolution works fine. I also noticed that if I change my desktop resolution to 1280x720 - the same problem occurs - it changes to 1280x1024 with huge borders.

My monitor is a Dell SP2208WFP. It has a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz. I tried Forcing the refresh rate to 60 hz in the catalyst control center, but still the same problem. All drivers are updated (including the monitors) and all updates are installed. I had an XFX nvidia 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 card before and 1280x720 resolution worked fine on that card in Windows 7.

Please help!

Hi, my story starts off with me upgrading my graphics card, and I bought an HD4670. At the time, I put it in, hoping my generic 300W PSU would work and hey presto, it didn't..the screen froze on doing anything graphically intensive. I accepted the fact that I would put it in my next PC which wasn't going to be a slim one so I would not be restricted hardware-wise so I stored it in an antistatic bag in my drawer.

After a few months, I went about building my own 'average' rig just for multimedia purposes, and probably some gaming too, but nothing too extravagant. Since I had an extremely low budget, I stuck with my old motherboard which restricted my best CPU to be the Pentium D 945 3.4 Ghz (which is what I have now), 2GB DDR2 RAM (the last 1GB is coming in the post tomorrow), my HD4670 and a new PSU.

The PSU I bought was an X-Power rated at 400W with 21A on the 12V rail but the catch was that it has 2 rails (which is worse, from what I've read). When I booted up my pc with the HD4670 and the PSU, the same thing happened a few months ago, except it was even worse, instead of freezing when I opened a program, it would do it on startup. I put this down to the fact that the PSU was multirailed and that previously I had a Pentium D 820 2.8Ghz (I think).

I then got another NEW psu, rated at 550W. It's an Alpine 'Silent Power Supply' Single Railed with 32A on the 12V+. Surely this would power an HD4670 right, considering I have seen other... Read more

Answer:HD4670 Startup Freeze/Crash

My guess is that the video card is defective or not compatible with your motherboard. You may have to get either a new video card or a new motherboard.

Also, for god's stop buying low quality power supplies. Both the X-power and Alpine brands are bottom of the barrel manufacturer's that make really poor quality units.

Or for example picture frames on the walls will go black for 1 second then be fine again.. Sometimes Shadows will flash away then come back.. I did research again and some people like it could be do with ATI Control Center. Im new to ATI cards. (Software) Is there something I should tick or disable, enable to help?

(Installed New Drivers. Gone back old drivers) (Reinstalled DirectX) Shadows flash sometimes on GTA IV aswell so its not COD4.. Checked everything can think off. Its not 24-7 just random times. But im sure it would enoy us all flashin shadows etc.

Specs are on my name thing.

It does sound very like a driver issue to me.

Ensure your windows is up to date and you have .net framework 3.
Use driver sweeper or the ATI software removal utility in add or remove programs to remove ALL traces of ati software from your pc.
Reinstall the most recent drivers and the ccc for your card here.

In the attached link there is a performance comparison between 32bit and their parallel 64bit softwares for different CPUs(under Windows XP 64bit).
As we can see passing to 64bit brings to an
improvement up to more than 100% !!!

Confused - help!
I get black screen when booting right after splash-screen w. Windows 7 (64-bit sys. in dual boot w. XP-SP3) - but the problem is only there when i have a HDMI-cable attached to the HD4670 card (with or WO my Samsung PS50C7700 hooked up at the other end of the HDMI-cable?).
With no HDMI attached to the grafics-card Windows 7 boots fine!
(EIZO-monitor S2110W on DVI all the time).

So no HDMI in Windows 7 - or what?!?

I have the HD4670 card running on the exact same hardware in Win XP-SP3 (same machine, dual boot) - and it's working just fine in XP-SP3 (WO sound on HDMI though...). What is this all about - pls help :}

System:
Asus P5Q-Pro (BIOS v. 1613), Intel E8400/3Ghz, 8 GB OCZ PC-6400 DDR-2, Sapphire ULTIMATE HD4670 (512 GDDR-3) w. Catalyst 12.2, Windows 7 Home Premium (dual boot w. XP-SP3 on separate HD's). RAID-enabled system w. 1 GB RAID-1 storage attached.

Answer:HDMI on HD4670/Win7-64 = Black Screen on Start-Up! (works on XP-SP3?)

Had exactly the same problem.

I did two things to fix; First I lowered the resolution to 1280x1024 and it worked, but that drove me crazy, so I bought a Intel card with 1gb of video memory, which I'm told is the minimum one should use if one wishes to use HDMI HD 1920x1080. It probably would have worked fine with an ATI as well, but with at least 1gb of RAM.

The card I bought was a Gigabyte GTX 450 and I might have been able to go lower, but since it was only $90 I figured it was worth it.

If you have a card with 1gb perhaps you could give that a try, or try lowering the resolution and (maybe), color depth.

The machine in question was Windows Server 2008 R2, but hey, it's essentially the same as windows 7.

Just my 2 cents worth.

We need tons more info.

First can you go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search)

Go to the windows log>application tab.

Look for critical errors (they have red in the left hand column) that say app hang, app crash, or anything relevant to the problem
When you find them note the event ID and source codes and relay them to us.

Let us know if you need help

Hi all, I have recently upgraded to windows 7 (64bit) and now when I  put my tablet into tablet mode, the screen doesn't autorotate and none of the tablet buttons work. In order to rotate the screen I have to right click on the desktop and choose graphic properties/rotation.Interestingly if I press the tablet buttons while in tablet mode and then rotate the screen up to notepad mode within a few seconds the button will perform its function (rotate screen, activate tablet shortcut menu, etc). Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I've tried running system update (4.0) to no avail. Cheers

I have a Dell Xps/410, running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit. Intel Q6600 2.4GHz. processor, Nvidia 8600GTS 256 video card with 250 Gb. SATA II hard drive and Creative audio.
Everytime I try to install the WIndows 7 BETA version it doesn't recognize the CD. I have made the CD-ROM first priority in the system's BIOS but it still doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestion? Would this happen to have something to do with my system being a DELL?
Or maybe I should consider wiping the hard drive first and then trying to install Windows 7 version.

what do you guys think, anybody have gone from vista x64 to xp 64? it seems like a logical thing to do since vista x64 still have bugs. at least i can address my 8gb of ram. would you or have you done it?

Answer:windows xp 64bit edition vs vista 64bit

I think I read your post backward. I thought you were asking if anyone had upgraded from XP x64 to Vista X64. Which I have done, although I differ from you -- I haven't had any issues.

I recently changed the Catalyst Control Center settings (can't remember exact changes) and now my screen goes black for 2-3 seconds at a time randomly. I removed the display driver and Catalyst Control Center and let Windows Update install a new version on a reboot. I've had the card for many years with no problem like this before.

How can I erase the entire video driver/software configuration and re-install it to get back to normal?

Thanks in advance,

Assuming you have the current Catalyst driver downloaded for your "legacy" HD4670 and ready for use in a reinstall, one clean way to remove all existing AMD software and drivers guaranteed is to use "Driver Fusion" from Treexy (this used to be called "Driver Sweeper").

It comes in a free version, and there also is a non-free premium version. The free version is sufficient to remove everything for the supported audio and video vendors, including of course AMD, nVidia and Intel on the video side.

You click on "Maintenance", and then "Driver Family", then "Display", then "AMD". Follow the "delete" process from there, and when it completes you reboot. You've now completely removed every trace of AMD, including from the Registry.

You can now reinstall your Catalyst driver from scratch.

hi everyone,i have some problem with my notebook it has an AMD A10-9600P processor (with 512 MB of gpu memory integrated) and a dedicated gpu, the AMD Radeon R7 M440 (2 GB); i'm running Windows 10 pro 64 bit with the anniversary update. and now the problems start..the catalyst software says that the r7 is connected but not primary (ok i think it's normal in the apu's processors) but in the advanced setting of the video's propriety, it shows that the dedicated video is only of 512 MB and not 512 + 2048 MB like it did before without the anniversary update, so in all the games and applications the system runs only with the integrated memory and not with the dedicated..in device menagement, the dedicated gpu has been renamed in r7 m340, or r8 m445dx (it dipends by the driver i have installed.) and there's more, the usb 3.0 doesn't work properly, in fact it reachs the speed of an usb 2.0 speed.  how can i fix all these problems?

hi there;

i downloaded some audio programs and afterwards ie9 64bit would not work (32 bit DOES). i tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the update failed. after removing the programs ie9 installed but 64bit would not load any web sites.

i have tried resetting ie9, flushing the dns etc using "SF IE9 RESTORATOR" all to no avail. google chrome and opera are working fine.

any help is highly appreciated, thanks in advance

Answer:IE9 64bit not working

Something worth trying:Start>type Turn Windows in the search box. From the list that appears under Control Panel, click on 'Turn Windows features on or off'
turn off IE9 and reboot. Then, re-enable İE9 and reboot again.Disabling re-enabling is done by removing and then re-checking the checkmark in the box.

Lesson learnt from this,ALWAYS create system restore points before any downloads/installs/updates.(İ don't always follow my own advise mind you

I have AMD Radeon 7670M installed in my laptop. I don't remember when but the card has not working since a very long time. I did a reading and I tried these methods: Updating from AMD autodetect - did not workGetting relevant driver from Windows Update - did not workUsed HP Support Assistant after a clean install- did not work (Actually, it did not work for any of the required drivers)I have noticed that after installing the driver in No.2 and 3, the computer goes into reboot loop. The "Starting WIndows" screen is the last thing you before the laptop goes into reboot again. Then I had to uninstall it from Safe Mode. I was also suggested that I must install the Radeon card before the Intel, but it did not work. The Device Manager says the card cannot start(Yellow Warning Sign) - I did uninstall and delete the driver and tried Method No.2 only for the reboot loop to start again.  Can this be a hardware problem ?

I got this ATi Radeon 9250 on this Pc-chips mobo... when i get into adv. config, in that smartgart section it says AGP is deactivated. And when i try to raise it to at least AGP 1x, or 2x, or 4x... once rebooted it says AGP is still deactivated... what should I do?

If you read the post of this guy , he had the same problem and somehow solved it, but the difference is he's using an ASUS mobo.

Answer:AGP not working with Radeon 9250

I believe the eventual solution to that poster's problem was updating the drivers for the MB first (although the ASUS site can be very busy and not always cooperative ) and then installing the drivers for the video card. Have you gone to the PC Chips web site and looked for what you need? What model board do you have. Did the Radeon board replace onboard video? If so is the onboard video disabled in BIOS in necessary? In BIOS is AGP enabled?
